Description Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of a "Description Essay" can pose its own set of challenges. The
difficulty lies in the balance between providing vivid and detailed descriptions while
maintaining a cohesive and engaging narrative. Crafting a description essay requires the ability to
convey sensory experiences through words, painting a clear picture in the reader's mind.
The challenge begins with selecting the right subject or topic for description. It's essential to
choose something that allows for rich imagery and appeals to the senses. Once the topic is
chosen, the writer must delve into the details, exploring not only the physical aspects but also the
emotions and atmosphere surrounding the subject.
However, finding the right words to capture the essence of the subject can be daunting. Striking
a balance between being too verbose and too concise is crucial. Too many details may
overwhelm the reader, while too few may leave them wanting more. The writer must carefully
select descriptive language to evoke the desired emotions and create a vivid mental image.
Another challenge is organizing the essay in a logical and coherent manner. The descriptions
should flow seamlessly from one aspect to another, creating a smooth reading experience.
Without a well-structured narrative, the essay may lose its impact, and readers may struggle to
follow the writer's intended progression.
Additionally, incorporating a personal touch without becoming overly subjective can be tricky.
The writer must share their perspective and emotions without overshadowing the objective
description. Striking this balance requires a keen understanding of the topic and a careful choice
of words to convey the author's unique viewpoint.
In conclusion, writing a description essay demands a delicate blend of creativity, attention to
detail, and effective organization. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line between too
much and too little information, all while maintaining a captivating narrative. Successfully
crafting such an essay demonstrates a mastery of language and a skillful ability to bring words to
life.

Wages For The American Worker Essay
Honest Wages for The American Worker Congratulations, you are hired! The four
words that people long to hear. However, for many newly employed workers, their
new job will not pay an income that will enable them to live comfortably. In 2015,
the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 2.6 million Americans, or approximately
3.3 percent of all hourly paid workers earned wages at, or below the federal minimum
wage. Since 2009, the federal minimum wageamount has remained stagnant.
Bringing this number to a level that is consistent with the cost of living is a basic
right for every wage earning American. Raising the minimum wage enables working
people to live above the poverty line. Although opposition states that raising the wage
will increase unemployment, the increase would actually reduce the number of
persons receiving food stamps, stimulate the economy, in addition to reducing income
inequality.
According to a Washington Post ABC news poll, two thirds of Americans say the
minimum wage should be increased. In 2015, protests by low wage workers
garnered media attention and captured the nation s attention. Workers exposed the
low wage paying practices by several big name corporations. These companies
included Macy s, Sears and Walmart in addition to fast food outlets Dunkin Donuts,
McDonald s and Subway. Pressure is building on Congress to raise the amount,
nevertheless this is not the first time Congress has wrestled with this subject. The

Theme Of Revenge In Beowulf
Beowulf spoke ,son of Ecgtheow:/ Do not grieve, wise sir.It always better/to avenge
ones friend than mourn too much. (Beowulf,11.1383 5)
Explain the role of mourning or revenge in Beowulf
Revenge is a central theme in Beowulf and induces many characters throughout the
poem.
Initially we see the infuriation that infests Grendel and the instant revenge and
destruction he conveys upon Beowulf s kingdom.Revenge almost motivates and
acts as a fuel to the fire Grendel is experiencing .We are introduced to the character
of Grendel in line 86 of the poem and we are given an immediate explanation of
what type of creature he is , a monster , a demon. Then a powerful demon, a prowler
through the dark nursed a hard grievance
(Unknown, Beowulf ,lines 86 87).Grendel has a soul purpose to demolish the
kingdom due to the pain and suffering he has to live with because of the fate and
heritage he was given when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Grendles mother is another key character surrounding the theme of revenge .
Personally I find the character of Grendles mother extremely thought provoking and I
found myself drawn to look into the character in more detail.
When Grendel returns to his lair surpassingly injured this sparks the motivation of
revenge within his mother .As a character she is perceived as a monster yet in the
eyes of a twenty first century reader she is merely a woman who is grieving her
sons death and retaliating towards those who murdered him . Revenge does not
have to be associated with malice and evil , as she was a woman she was labelled
monster due to her rash decisions and thirst for vengeance. In the time of the
text, women were supposed to be gentle peace keepers any woman who acted out of
the ordinary had to deal with major consequences ,exile or assassination. Her
revenge was not out of spite ,it was purely fuelled by a mothers fury
The Importance Of Hair Designs In Ancient Egypt
The ancient Egyptians were one of the first world civilizations to exist on our
planet being the first to set parameters. I often wonder if they knew they were the
first. When they were creating things such as the toothbrush and the calendar did
they feel like they were inventing for all of humanity? Or, were they just creating
things based on their needs in the present moment not realizing the impact it would
have on the Africa and beyond? After my research, I found out that they were the
original creators of one of my deepest passions the art of barbers. The ancient
Egyptians believed that being clean shaven was a sign of good hygiene and class.
This belief inspired them to create sharp stones that would trim their hair; by
advancing this technology they were able to carve out the first barbershop
industry in world civilization. The deep desire of intricate hair designs or braids,
short hair or shaven heads, or the desire for hair wigs organically led to the need of
tools that could revision their hair. In research done by W. Flinders Petries describes
the relationship of hair design in ancient Egyptby stating, There were periods when
the head was clean shaven, others when it was left to grow, cropped short or worn
shoulder long or even longer by both men and women. Egyptians invention of the first

sharpened flint, shell, or stone. As time continued the tools continued to become more
Relationship Between God And God In Gilgamesh
In many different texts such as Gilgamesh and The Odyssey , there is a
relationship displayed between God and man or the divine . In these stories the
gods are almost always close by. The gods in Gilgamesh are very similar to the
humans in terms of appearance. Not only that but they behave similar as well. They
have emotions and feel things but also expect things of the humans. They want
sacrifices and for the humans to obey them. In obeying and pleasing the gods
however, the humans in return expect to be guided by the gods and kept safe. This is
because the humans see the gods as unconquerable, almighty, and immortal beings.
Although being seen that way to the human s, the gods have their weaknesses too.
Despite the fact that there are gods in Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh himself is two thirds god
and one third man. He too has unbelievable strength and does unbelievable things
like killing the Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. He is capable of doing things
like the gods because he is like them to an extent. He too feels things such as
sadness and grief when his friend Enkidu dies. The gods play a part in the lives of
man in this way too. For example, the gods agreed in council that either Gilgamesh
or Enkidu must die for what they had done in killing the Bull of Heaven. In the end
this resulted in Enkidu s death. Gilgamesh like the gods, doesn t only feel and have
emotions but has a weakness as well. Gilgamesh s weaknesses in this story are
arrogance and pride. He displays this
Nova Scotia Mathematics Curriculum Analysis
It is the messy, complicated picture of teacher work with multiple contexts,
interpretations and impositions of curriculum that we seek (Ayers, W., Quinn, T.,
Stovall, D. O., Scheiern, L. (2008, p. 308). The Nova Scotia mathematics curriculum
was designed based on several key assumptions and beliefs about learning. Not all of
these assumptions and beliefs are in line with cognitive science literature. First, the
Nova Scotia mathematics curriculum states that, students learn by attaching meaning
to what they do and need to construct their own meaning of mathematics (Nova
Scotia Department of Educationand Early Childhood Development, 2014, p. 25).
While it is difficult to argue against the premise that meaningful learning is important,

With the wide selection that Sky offer its customers it is a perfect product for a
family to enjoy, young children, teenagers, young adults and parents can all benefit
from Sky s programming.
The price of the subscription and the additional services Sky offer, would suggest it is
aimed at middle class families with the latest television and mobile device (iPad,
tablet and smartphones). The price could also discourage anyone under 30, with this
market using their disposable income on entertainment outside of their home, they re
unlikely to become a Sky customer when they aren t benefiting from their
subscription.
Brand Attributes
When customers are comparing Sky to its competitors they must compare specific
attributes that they find most important when selecting a pay TV service. Consumers
will attach more value to some attributes than to others, some consumers will find
packaging of a good important, while others will focus more on the price, or maybe
on the brand name (Riezebos. R, 2003).
Sky s main attributes focus around their television service, the price, availability and
amount offered to the customer is far greater than its competitors. However if the
television package is not an attribute the customer has prioritised Sky are only
slightly better on price compared to BT and neither can compare to Virgins

United States Should Adopt A More European System
In order to get a full picture of whether or not the US should adopt a more European
system, it is necessary to assess the economic benefits and disadvantages of a more
regulated system of geographical indication than the one currently in place in the
US. This is not to insist that the EU system is superior to that of the US, but to
instead suggest that the compromise will inevitably come from tighter rules on the
US side instead of the inverse. There is a plethora of economic benefits of having
strong GI laws that should all be taken into consideration when thinking about
TTIP. The World Intellectual Property Organization, a major proponent of GIs, cite
three main benefits to the practice and increased protections: quality signaling,
increased market access, and small business and rural development (Bienabe et Al.
114). TTIP is notable for it s benefits played to small to medium enterprises, and
introducing them on to the world market. Should European style regulations be
included as part of the deal, this will have a massive impact on those enterprises,
especially in the dairy industry. This is primarily because of the fact that GI s
virtually eliminate rival goods. Without the ability for any producer outside of a
given geographical region to produce the good, local business experience steep and
powerful patronization (Benavente). For example, if Kraft parmesan cheesewere to be

about elementary school student named Charlie. Charlie s biological factors
include being 6 years old, African American, and male. It is unclear if Charlie was
premature, and if his mother, Eloise, was taking prenatal care during the
pregnancy, which are also a part of Charlie s biological factors. In regards to the
psychological facts, Charlie appears to be having challenges interacting with the
other children. Additionally, he becomes easily irritated and distracted, cries when
someone tries to correct his behavior, and constantly has tantrums. His usual
bedtime and mealtime routine have changed since his mother is not always
available to attend. The social factors consist of his mother, step father, aunt, and
newborn sister. Additionally, moving in with his Aunt Eleanor and his school are
social factors. Due to his mother, Eloise, having depression, she was in psychiatric
hospitalization for a while. After her release, Charlie moved with his aunt in order
for Eloise to spend time trying to recover from her depression. Ever since he
moved with Aunt Eleanor, Charlie s developmental factors have changed. Prior to
moving with his aunt, Charlie was an actively involved child who was extremely
social and reached his developmental milestones at an expected rate, as well as
possessing amazing language and social skills. It is imperative to be aware of these

Council Of Clermont Analysis
In 1095 C.E. Pope Urban II made a speech at the Council of Clermont in France, to
mount the first Crusade to rescue the Holy Land from the Muslims (Seljuk Turks)
and return it back to the Christians. Primarily religion and secondly economic gain
would be the motivational factors to flow on from the Crusades.
By way of background leading to the Pope s call at Clermont, the Emperor of the
Byzantine Empire asked Pope Urban II to help drive the Muslims out of the Holy
Land, hence the historic speech, in 1095, the Pope gave at the Council of
Clermont. The Knights of Europe were promised forgiveness of their sins if they
went on the crusade to rescue the Holy Land. An army of Knights, nobles and
ordinary people re captured Jerusalem in 1099. Many more crusades would follow
but they were not as successful as the first crusade. For instance, many writers, such
as Fulcher of Chatres, wrote about the crusades, which he was a part of. He wrote of
how brutal and bloody they were and that many Crusaders committed acts of murder

In other words the participants used the quest for other motivational gains, besides
the primary motivation of religion. Some of the reasons may have included: to
obey the Pope s call; promise Salvation as the eternal reward ; forgiveness of past
sins (very important for the Knights); to have an adventure and prove their bravery;
to gain financially through possession of foreign land and for the peasants (the
Serfs) who were owned by their Lords, were promised freedom by the Pope.
There were economic gains and losses. The economic strain of joining the Crusades
was draining. Soldiers were expected to finance their journey to the Holy Land,
which was difficult even after they had sold their land and personal goods. The
Church gave them little money and they took on the majority of the
Knee Joint Research Paper
The Knee Joint (tibiofemoral joint) is a bicondylar synovial joint named a hinge
joint, which permits flexion and extension with a slight degree of medial and lateral
rotation. The joint is formed by the two articulations between the femur, tibia and
patella. The joint consists of two articulations. The Tibiofemoral, which is, the medial
and lateral condyles of the femur that articulate with the tibial condyles. The second
being the Patellofemoral, which is, the anterior and distal section of the femur which

The knee has two collateral ligaments, which are strap like ligaments, that stabilises
the hinge motion of the knee to prevent excess medial and lateral movement. The
Tibial (medial) collateral ligament originates on the medial side of the joint. It
attaches to the medial side of the tibia to prevent forces applied to the lateral side of
the knee from moving the knee medially. The Fibular (lateral) ligament is a thin and
rounder ligament that attaches laterally to the epicondyle of the femur to the fibular
head. The knee joint has two internal ligaments, the anterior and posterior cruciate
ligaments which contribute to maintain the proper alignment of the knee. The
anterior cruciate ligament attaches to the anterior intercondylar region of the tibia
where it mergers with the medial meniscus. Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL),
located behind the ACL, which extends obliquely from the surface of the medial
condyle of the femur to the posterior intercondylar space of the tibia. The PCL
prevents the posterior dislocation of the tibia onto the femur. The medial and lateral
menisci are fibrocartilage structures in the knee that, protect and cushion the joint
surface and bone ends and increases stability of the joint. They are C shaped in
appearance and attach at both ends of the intercondylar
Differences Between The American And The Haitian
Revolution
The 18th and early 19th centuries were times of great development and turmoil in the
Americas., as fledgling nations fought against colonial powers for their right to
sovereignty. Two of these nations, the United States and Haiti achieved independence
through a mixture of warfare and diplomacy, with dynamic leadership also critical to
their success. The difference between them was surrounding race, as Haitian slaves
fought for freedom as well as independence. Military altercations were key during
both the Haitian revolution and the revolutionary war in the United States. North
American battles with the British began in 1775 with the Battles of Lexington and
Concord and didn t end until 1781, with a decisive victory won over the British...

By 1792, the French had sent troops in to try and restore order. These battles
differed from the battles in the United States because they centered on ideas of
racial equality. Poorly treated slaves and angry mixed race citizens fought not only
for their right to have an independent nation, but for a literal freedom and equality
for themselves. When Toussaint L Overture, a former slave, took over the Haitian
armies in 1793, he was fighting both the British and the French, two armies fighting
to possess an island rich in resources, including the slaves who were fighting against
them. He was a powerful leader and an intelligent military strategist, and his capacity
to control the rebelling slaves greatly improved their organization. Battles with the
French dragged on until 1803, when Napoleon no longer had the resources to sustain
the warfare and withdrew his troops. By 1804, Haiti was an independent republic
governed by Jean Jacques Dessalines, who in a final expression of racial tension had
the remaining white citizens massacred. Both the United States and Haiti helped
secure their independence through successful military campaigns, but Haiti s
independence had race as a focal point in a way colonists of the United States did not

Gap Year Is The Right Choice
Gap Year Is The Right Choice
People these days should take the gap year because it lets them have the time to find
out the person that they want to be in life. Today most students are taking the path
of having a gap year because they are very stressed throughout high school and just
need a break from school for a little while. Some students have no motivation or clue
what they want to do in college so by having this gap year it gives them the time to
explore and find out what interest them. This will give them a better idea of what
they want to major in and eventually have a job in as well. Some would say that
going to college right after high school could make life a lot less problematic;
however, students should choose to take a gap year to have the most favorable
outcomes after high school.
The students who take a gap year may never attend college, but some of the
colleges recommend to the students that they should take a gap year. A lot of
parents are worried if their child decides they are going to take a gap year that they
will find the time off really fun and they will find other interest and they never want
to attend college. In today s society more of the colleges across the United States are
actually saying to the students that they should take a gap year so they can become
more mature and ready for their college experience. Now in the 21st century, the U.S.
colleges and universities accept gap years, they encourage them. Many of the country

What is Federalism?
Federalism is described as a political system including multiple levels of government
where power is the divided by central authority and constituent political units. The
American National Government the states are the constituent units of the federation.
Prohibited by the Constitution, Congress cannot solely make the decision to change
existing states boundaries or the alteration of its government. The power of the

Roe v. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions
have stirred up as much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one
delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973. Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the
culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon which much of American politics
turns. In fact, the authors of Roe v. Wade: The Abortion Rights Controversy in
American History state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) remains
the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century (3).
Although it is a landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and
politics proves that its legacy lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of
law. Essentially, the most important points are that the cause of the case s complexity
and drama is the legal relationship between men and women that the ruling mirrored
and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the political
significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v.
Wade meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal,
and that story begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first
state to explicitly criminalize abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell
out the conditions under which the state could prosecute an abortionist for an
abortion. The

Mid Semester Take home Exam: The Storyteller
1.What characteristic does the bachelor s story share with the modern fairy story? In
what ways does it subvert the audiences expectations?
Like most modern fairy stories the bachelor s story begins with the phrase Once
upon a time , has a reoccurring pattern (the word good ), incudes a prince, animals,
good versus evil and a journey. That is, Bertha, the main character who receives
multiple rewards for being good, comes face to face with a ravenous wolf while
strolling through a park. Unlike Little Red Riding hood or other fairy tale heroines, a
prince or bystander does not come to rescue Bertha. Nor, is there any magical
intervention. Instead, the story subverts the audiences expectation by having the
main character killed because of her goodness (being too good) while no punishment
befalls the wolf. This goes against the conventional happy ending, and the narrative
good things happen to good people .
Additionally, the setting and the verbiage used to describe Bertha is unconventional.
Flowers hold different meanings, but typically represent beauty, and may signify
prosperity. For this reason, the beautiful park is expected to have flowers. Instead, it

children s literature should pander or caudle children but expose them to some

The Fusion Of Spinal Fusion
Spinal fusion is categorized into three different categories: cervical, thoracic, and
lumbar, in conjunction with the different segments of the spine. Each type of spinal
fusion has a different goal depending on the purpose of the surgery. Most surgeries
involve fusing vertebrae together to limit its range of motion, thereby hopefully
reducing the pain or correcting any physical deformities. Depending on the levels of
fusion, spinal fusion surgeries tend to last a few hours. Complications may arise
during surgery, and they greatly increase depending the location of the fusion,
levels of fusion, and if the surgery crosses any important nerve sites. Levels of
spinal fusion are known as the fusion between two different vertebrae. If there is a
fusion between L1 and L2, that is known as one level of fusion. If there is another
site of fusion at L3 and L4, than there will be two levels of spinal fusion. Lumbar
fusion are further complicated when more then one level of performed. By limiting
one segment s range of motion, other segments of the spine will have to compensate
and create greater range of motion. With lumbar fusion, most doctors will need to be
able to identify why a patient needs lumbar fusion, and being able to identify if
lumbar fusion will help alleviate the pain. Most cases of lumbar fusion involve
spondylolisthesis, fractures, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and possibly herniated disk if
no other further treatment has proven successful. Most physicians will order an
Buddhism In Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha
Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse, is about a Hindu Brahman Prince and his close friend
from India who are on a spiritual journey to find truth and reach enlightenment. In
Buddhism, one s goal is to obtain enlightenment and reach Nirvana; a state in which
the mind is enlightened, transcending all suffering and achieving peace (Merriam

birth, suffering, death and rebirth (Merriam Webster). Unable to find truth and

Siddhartha, the handsome Brahmin s son (page 3) has trouble losing himself, and

The quote explains that Siddhartha was once each of these men, and that he seeks

contentment wherever an opportunity arises. After removing himself from the

Best Welding Helmet
When it comes to welding, whether doing MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, you need the
best equipment. To get the job done well, as well as to make the whole process more
streamlined, you need high quality gear that can help you finish your welds more
efficiently. Another important factor that you have to consider is safety, and one of
the most important parts of your safety gear is the helmet. While other pieces like
your gloves or apron (if you have one) are crucial, the helmet is the one part that
allows you to do your job well.
To that end, I ve compiled a list of the best welding helmets on the market today, as
well as created a handy guide for you so you can pick out the features and accessories
you need for whatever job you do.

Realistically, this helmet is almost the same as the other model on this list, although
the two look vastly different. This particular model has a more utilitarian design to it,
along with silver flames on the sides.
When it comes to performance, this helmet has almost the same features as the other
AUDEW model. The viewing area measures 3.62 by 1.66 , with an auto darkening
function that switches in a fraction of a second. This helmet has two sensors for
ideal results, and a shade variation of #9 to #13 when activated, with a resting shade
of #4. For your convenience, there is a manual shade adjustment knob on the outside.
Powering this helmet is a lithium battery with a solar powered backup. To help
conserve battery life, this model has an automatic on/off functionality. What I like
about this helmet that the other AUDEW model didn t have is the fact that you can
replace the battery. With the other unit, you had to replace the whole helmet once the
battery died, but with this, you can just swap it out and keep on
Symbolism In Ethan Frome
There are a quite a few short stories, novels, and poetry that uses things to represent
something else. This is also known as symbolism. Stories and novels such as Their
Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, The Most dangerous Game by
Richard Connell, and The Giver by Lois Lowry. These novels consist a great deal of
symbols. Also, these symbols may have more than one meaning to them. In the novel
Ethan Frome ,there are many different things that symbolizes something. The
symbols that are found in the novel, Ethan Frome , is the cat, the dead cucumber vine
and the pickle dish. In chapter five, the cat represents Zeena. In the chapter, Ethan

Media s Influence On Body Image
Ultra thin models are plastered all over the media today, but have these influential
sources thought of the negative outcomes that could change society forever? The
notions represented by the media silently incline girls to conform to an ideal that
is impossible to reach. Due to their malleable brains, adolescent females are
subjected to the image of a perfect body through media s adverse influence of what
a quintessential girl is supposed to look like and the permanent impact it has on a
girl s life. The definition of body image stems from a subjective picture of one s
own physical appearance established by both self observation and by noting the
reactions of others (Medical Dictionary). Young girls are influenced by... Show more

Advertisers are so manipulative, Christy Turlington, a Calvin Klein model,
confessed to a magazine company (Rowland 54). The pictures are not only fake,
but airbrushed to a point where the actress, model, or famous individual barely
resembles an actual human being. Christy Turlington s experience with
airbrushing is an unpleasant one and she deems it necessary to call out the media
that continuously allows this to happen. The idea of perfection and ultimate, top
notch beauty shows adolescents that flawless beauty is the only type that will be
accepted in society today. Airbrushing and other devices that are capable of fixing
imperfections can lead to depression and eating disorders (Issitt). This only
emphasizes that the media is affecting the overall psychological progress young
minds adapt to. Additionally, at age thirteen, 53% of American girls dislike their
bodies because of the media s influence; that number continues to grow as they get
older ( Teen Health and the Media ). This directly correlates with problems that
follow such as self consciousness, lack of confidence, and depression. The effect
media has on an individual lasts a lifetime and becomes a serious problem to
overcome as a result. Society is also affected by models and the theory of the thin
ideal which in turn discourages a positive body image. Many individuals are also

General Pershing Orders On African-American Soldiers
The U.S Army 369th Infantry Regiment (originally organized as the 15th Infantry
New York National Guard) was form on June 2nd, 1913 and were an African
American infantry unit commanded by the first African American General Benjamin
O. Davis, Sr. along with General John J. Pershing, commanding the entire U.S. Army
regiments. During the First World War, the 369th regiment
quickly mobilized in 1917
when General Pershing order them to one of the United StatesAllies, France, caused
by the U.S. Army segregation and discrimination. Once the unit temperately emerged
with the French Army during war, the French s acceptance and behavior toward
African Americans were congenial. The French did not discriminate nor segregate

Essay on Gibran Khalil Gibran Depicts the Power of Nature
Gibran Khalil Gibran
The raw power of nature has always been an inspiration to the world around us.
Gibran Khalil Gibran has depicted the power of nature and applied it in his
theories in philosophy, his painting, and his passion for poetry and literature. The
style in which Khalil unifies life and its beauty makes his writing very good. His
style of writing is very peaceful and ear friendly. A factor of his sacristy to women,
life and beauty is the locations he has been to in his life. Throughout this essay, the
exploration of the poetic visions and biography of Gibran will be explored.

In The Prophet Khalil says sorrow carves out our being but actually, the emptiness
that sorrow makes, provides room for you to enjoy yourself in another moment in
life. In one of lines that standout in Sorrow and Pain Khalil states, Your pain is the
breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding when you are in pain, try to
consider your pain as any experience of life. If you can accomplish this, you will be
more calm and satisfied about your feelings. Few realize that the prophet says, that
suffering is meant to heal our selves The bitter potion by which the physician

that it may all have been self chosen, all has been produces by you. Without

describes God as an art, the art of life Our God, who art our winged and giving us

God is art, and whenever people pray, they pray for better art, which is wrong
because you should ask for more of God in order to gifted more and better art. The
main idea in this quote is that God knows everything his people need, and it his
himself. Our essential need is God, therefore praying should only be for more of

Police Power Structures
The articles I chose are from The Guardian and the Washington Post, and essentially
combined they are an overview of what caused the tragic deaths of Michael Brown
and Eric Garner, the community response to it, and how large of a problem police
violence is. The argument put forth in the Guardian article is that the reason why
black men are killed by white policeofficers is not due to an atmosphere of tension
and mistrust between minorities and police officers or police in general, that
atmosphere is merely a manifestation of the institutional racism that exists within
police forces throughout America. And in turn the government has been essentially
inactive when it comes to real reforms of the structure of police departments and their
policies... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
government itself, specifically the Congress. The police department is failing
minorities because it is targeting them more than whites, and creating and enacting
rules and instructions within departments that provide an atmosphere of tension and
hate between minorities and police officers. Additionally, the subconscious racial
profiling and targeting present in police officers is failing minorities because rather
than protecting them, the police are treating them as their enemies. The government,
specifically the Congress, is failing minorities because lawmakers are not passing
proper measures to combat the institutional racism present in police departments.
The evidence that not enough is being done by Congress is shown by the fact that
already in 2015 385 people have been shot and killed by police in America, 100 of
which are black according to the Washington Post. There needs to be proper
legislation and reform to fight the discrimination and racism present in the structure
of police

as the teller informs Homer that he would need to have his wife sign, he goes
behind a plant to impersonate Marge to sign and Lisa to get some candy. He even
tries to leave after accepting the candy without getting the money that he went in

some extra cash, this lead to the discovery of a childhood crayon being lodge in his
brain. This becomes one of the components of what has made Homer so asinine,

How The Ball With Your Foot
Introduction
In America it is called soccer, but in the rest of the world it is called football. This
sport consists of a ball being kicked with feet with the intent of getting the ball into
the goal. The faster the ball moves, the less time the goalie has to prevent a goal
from being scored. If the ball is kicked directly at the goalie with incredible speed,
the ball will be deflected and not go into the goal. Occasionally a player must direct
the ball around many additional players to get a free shot which can be a lot of hard
work. Sometimes though, a player gets a free shot. This uninhibited shot doesn t
necessarily mean free points though. Most shots that score have a rapid velocity and
are very accurate. There are two main ways of ... Show more content on

The approach includes the steps before the foot plant. This article found that the
greater distance the step is up to 1.6m the more powerful the kick will be. The
biomechanical purpose of this phase is to generate power by increasing
momentum. The contact phase occurs after the opposite foot has been planted
and is the beginning the forward motion of the kicking leg onto the impact on the
ball (What... 2014). During this phase the flexion of the knee in the kicking leg
increases to cause an overall deceleration of the player but an increase in
acceleration of the kicking leg to generate more velocity. The follow through phase
is where contact is made and the kicking leg comes closer to the elbow on the same
side of the body as the kicking leg. The leg essentially completes the path it began
in the forward swing of the kick. The article goes on to mention the main
biomechanical principles that influence a player s ability to achieve maximum
velocity. They are the angular velocity of the lower limbs, coefficient of
restitution, and ground reaction force. In the research article Three dimensional
kinetic analysis of side foot and instep soccer kicks by Hiroyuki Nunome, Takeshi
Asai, Yasuo Ikegami, and Shinji Sakurai, they found The average ball velocities of
the side foot and instep kicks were 23.4 +/ 1.7 mВ·s 1 and 28.0 +/ 2.1 mВ·s 1,

Summary Of Epictetus The Handbook
In The Handbook , Epictetus provides a way of life a stoic should follow to be a
good member of the society, which is a life detached from things one cannot
change and focused instead on things that can be improved. For instance, he asked
people to care none about the way others would judge them as he quoted If anyone
tells you that such a person speaks ill of you, don t make excuses about what is
said of you, but answer: He does not know my other faults, else he would not have
mentioned only these. Through this quote, Epictetus wanted all stoics to know all
their faults better than anyone else can say about them. Hence, the person would

For instance, he quoted Don t be prideful with any excellence that is not your own.
If a horse should be prideful and say, I am handsome, it would be supportable. But
when you are prideful, and say, I have a handsome horse, know that you are proud
of what is, in fact, only the good of the horse. In this sentence, Epictetus wanted to
teach the stoics to learn to proud of only something they can achieve not
something they own. In fact, this idea helped create a better citizen who would not
become too conceited simply because of something valuable he or she had. Also, a
person would then focus more on how to achieve his or her own success, one
which this person could take pride in. Furthermore, Epictetus wanted the stoics to
put a higher goal before they choose to quit simply because of afraid: Aiming
therefore at such great things, remember that you must not allow yourself to be
carried, even with a slight tendency, towards the attainment of lesser things. In this
quote, Epictetus addressed those who aimed at too small an objective as well as
those who wanted to earn both a great thing and the small one. In fact, he saw a
person who know which goal he or she should aim for would probably achieve a
higher accomplishment and thus became a better member of the

How Social Vulnerabilities Are Important Within Disaster...
Throughout history there have been various definitions present on what a disaster is
and the effects that it contains in relation to the environment and residents within the
area. Society often has specific dominant worldviews in regards to disasters, which
can pertain to or focus around disasters being seen as a hazard , unlucky , or an
unavoidable event (Scandlyn et al, 2009). Generally, many individuals tend to reflect
on definitions in relation to conventional theories because the media often prioritizes
disasters as being catastrophic or an end of the world phenomenon. What these
individuals fail to understand is the importance of recognizing that we cannot only
view disasters in this way, however we must also understand how... Show more

Exploring social vulnerabilities is important to look at because its helps to understand
how many residents such as indigenous individuals within the Athabasca region are
disregarded as being important due to the marginalization their community faces. In
addition, considering economic vulnerabilities allows for individuals to realize that
the Canadian economy is more important rather than the livelihood of Alberta
residents. These residents are faced with economic vulnerabilities such as relocation
of their homes as well as an increased cost of living. Lastly, this paper will investigate
the environmental vulnerabilities such as poor environmental management leading to
an increased risk of climate change as well as the health issues that local residents
face.
It is important to understand that when the Alberta tar sands were created, companies
such as Suncor, Imperial oil, Petro Canada and so forth were not concerned with the
residents living within the area. Since the tar sands development occupies a great
amount of space in northern Alberta, this project has affected indigenous
communities such as the Mikisew Cree and Althabasca Chipewyan (Dobson et al.,
2014). This land was home to both of these indigenous communities before Alberta s
government decided to put forth expansions within these areas. As a result,
Essay on Main Causes of Divorce
One of the main things people do when they feel great chemistry between one
another is get married. Some couples are unable to maintain their relationship and
they get a divorce; which is one of the solutions to solve the problems between
husband and wife. Most people think carefully before they get married however the
divorce rates are continuously increasing. There are three main causes of divorce:
changing in woman s roles, stress in modern living, and lack of communication.
The first significant cause of recent rise in the rates of divorce is a woman s role
being completely changed. In the past, men had to earn all the money to afford the
expenses of the family, whereas woman only did housework. That led to the woman

Many people who live in globalization have considerable pressures to earn money.
Some people cannot maintain their high maintenance lifestyle and are forced to
settle for less. Consequently, their spouse may feel like they have settled for less
and decide they may be better suited for someone else. This usually occurs when
people just marry for money or material things. Those type of marriages usually
never last and end in a horrible divorce. The final cause of recently increasing
divorce is lack of communication. Owing to financial status in each family, many
people are fairly busy. For this reason, they have inadequate time to talk to their
spouse about their problems. Consequently, that usually causes divorce. Some
couples are often quiet when they have problems with each other. Soon their little
problems expand to big problems, resulting in divorce. Maybe if people
communicated more with their partner divorce rates would be increasing so
drastically. In addition to the three causes I mentioned, there are also two effects of
divorce. Most couples normally have children when they get married. Divorces can
directly affect the children of the couple. Children living in a single parent house
hold are more likely to get pregnant as a teenager, drop out in high school, abuse
drugs, and have aggressive emotional and behavioral problems. Some children decide
to leave their home and subsequently become homeless and they do not have good
opportunities to find a job due

Although the movie is fictitious, there are boys who are living in America today that

Overview of the Movie
American History X tells a tragic story that focuses on two brothers, Derek and
Danny Vinyard. The movie begins with a startling flashback scene in which Danny
interrupts his older brother Derek and his girlfriend having sex to tell him that there
is a black man outside trying to break into Derek s car. Next we see Derek run
outside and shoot and kill two African Americans and attempt to kill another driving
away. Derek is in his early twenties and Danny is 16 years old. Danny witnesses the
entire transaction.
In the next scene, it is the day Derek is released from prison, and Danny is in the
principal s office because he wrote a paper on Mien Kampf arguing for Hitler as an
outstanding civil rights activist. He is instructed by the principal, who is African
American, to write another paper on his older brother Derek. As the movie
progresses, the viewer learns more about the lives of Danny and Derek. Their
father was a fireman who was killed by a black man while trying to put out a fire in
a black community. Derek and Danny live in an area of California that is run by
violent gangs. After his father is killed, Derek joins D.O.C., which is a Neo Nazi,

Description Essay Writing anessay on the topic of a "Description Essay" can pose its own set of challenges. The difficulty lies in the balance between providing vivid and detailed descriptions while maintaining a cohesive and engaging narrative. Crafting a description essay requires the ability to convey sensory experiences through words, painting a clear picture in the reader's mind. The challenge begins with selecting the right subject or topic for description. It's essential to choose something that allows for rich imagery and appeals to the senses. Once the topic is chosen, the writer must delve into the details, exploring not only the physical aspects but also the emotions and atmosphere surrounding the subject. However, finding the right words to capture the essence of the subject can be daunting. Striking a balance between being too verbose and too concise is crucial. Too many details may overwhelm the reader, while too few may leave them wanting more. The writer must carefully select descriptive language to evoke the desired emotions and create a vivid mental image. Another challenge is organizing the essay in a logical and coherent manner. The descriptions should flow seamlessly from one aspect to another, creating a smooth reading experience. Without a well-structured narrative, the essay may lose its impact, and readers may struggle to follow the writer's intended progression. Additionally, incorporating a personal touch without becoming overly subjective can be tricky. The writer must share their perspective and emotions without overshadowing the objective description. Striking this balance requires a keen understanding of the topic and a careful choice of words to convey the author's unique viewpoint. In conclusion, writing a description essay demands a delicate blend of creativity, attention to detail, and effective organization. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line between too much and too little information, all while maintaining a captivating narrative. Successfully crafting such an essay demonstrates a mastery of language and a skillful ability to bring words to life. For those who find themselves grappling with the complexities of writing a description essay or any other type of academic assignment, assistance is available. Wages For TheAmerican Worker Essay Honest Wages for The American Worker Congratulations, you are hired! The four words that people long to hear. However, for many newly employed workers, their new job will not pay an income that will enable them to live comfortably. In 2015, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that 2.6 million Americans, or approximately 3.3 percent of all hourly paid workers earned wages at, or below the federal minimum wage. Since 2009, the federal minimum wageamount has remained stagnant. Bringing this number to a level that is consistent with the cost of living is a basic right for every wage earning American. Raising the minimum wage enables working people to live above the poverty line. Although opposition states that raising the wage will increase unemployment, the increase would actually reduce the number of persons receiving food stamps, stimulate the economy, in addition to reducing income inequality. According to a Washington Post ABC news poll, two thirds of Americans say the minimum wage should be increased. In 2015, protests by low wage workers garnered media attention and captured the nation s attention. Workers exposed the low wage paying practices by several big name corporations. These companies included Macy s, Sears and Walmart in addition to fast food outlets Dunkin Donuts, McDonald s and Subway. Pressure is building on Congress to raise the amount, nevertheless this is not the first time Congress has wrestled with this subject. The Fair Labor Standards Act was a

Theme Of RevengeIn Beowulf Beowulf spoke ,son of Ecgtheow:/ Do not grieve, wise sir.It always better/to avenge ones friend than mourn too much. (Beowulf,11.1383 5) Explain the role of mourning or revenge in Beowulf Revenge is a central theme in Beowulf and induces many characters throughout the poem. Initially we see the infuriation that infests Grendel and the instant revenge and destruction he conveys upon Beowulf s kingdom.Revenge almost motivates and acts as a fuel to the fire Grendel is experiencing .We are introduced to the character of Grendel in line 86 of the poem and we are given an immediate explanation of what type of creature he is , a monster , a demon. Then a powerful demon, a prowler through the dark nursed a hard grievance (Unknown, Beowulf ,lines 86 87).Grendel has a soul purpose to demolish the kingdom due to the pain and suffering he has to live with because of the fate and heritage he was given when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grendles mother is another key character surrounding the theme of revenge . Personally I find the character of Grendles mother extremely thought provoking and I found myself drawn to look into the character in more detail. When Grendel returns to his lair surpassingly injured this sparks the motivation of revenge within his mother .As a character she is perceived as a monster yet in the eyes of a twenty first century reader she is merely a woman who is grieving her sons death and retaliating towards those who murdered him . Revenge does not have to be associated with malice and evil , as she was a woman she was labelled monster due to her rash decisions and thirst for vengeance. In the time of the text, women were supposed to be gentle peace keepers any woman who acted out of the ordinary had to deal with major consequences ,exile or assassination. Her revenge was not out of spite ,it was purely fuelled by a mothers fury

The Importance OfHair Designs In Ancient Egypt The ancient Egyptians were one of the first world civilizations to exist on our planet being the first to set parameters. I often wonder if they knew they were the first. When they were creating things such as the toothbrush and the calendar did they feel like they were inventing for all of humanity? Or, were they just creating things based on their needs in the present moment not realizing the impact it would have on the Africa and beyond? After my research, I found out that they were the original creators of one of my deepest passions the art of barbers. The ancient Egyptians believed that being clean shaven was a sign of good hygiene and class. This belief inspired them to create sharp stones that would trim their hair; by advancing this technology they were able to carve out the first barbershop industry in world civilization. The deep desire of intricate hair designs or braids, short hair or shaven heads, or the desire for hair wigs organically led to the need of tools that could revision their hair. In research done by W. Flinders Petries describes the relationship of hair design in ancient Egyptby stating, There were periods when the head was clean shaven, others when it was left to grow, cropped short or worn shoulder long or even longer by both men and women. Egyptians invention of the first barbertools begin 6,000 years ago where nobles crafted their barber tools out of sharpened flint, shell, or stone. As time continued the tools continued to become more

Relationship Between GodAnd God In Gilgamesh In many different texts such as Gilgamesh and The Odyssey , there is a relationship displayed between God and man or the divine . In these stories the gods are almost always close by. The gods in Gilgamesh are very similar to the humans in terms of appearance. Not only that but they behave similar as well. They have emotions and feel things but also expect things of the humans. They want sacrifices and for the humans to obey them. In obeying and pleasing the gods however, the humans in return expect to be guided by the gods and kept safe. This is because the humans see the gods as unconquerable, almighty, and immortal beings. Although being seen that way to the human s, the gods have their weaknesses too. Despite the fact that there are gods in Gilgamesh, Gilgamesh himself is two thirds god and one third man. He too has unbelievable strength and does unbelievable things like killing the Humbaba and the Bull of Heaven. He is capable of doing things like the gods because he is like them to an extent. He too feels things such as sadness and grief when his friend Enkidu dies. The gods play a part in the lives of man in this way too. For example, the gods agreed in council that either Gilgamesh or Enkidu must die for what they had done in killing the Bull of Heaven. In the end this resulted in Enkidu s death. Gilgamesh like the gods, doesn t only feel and have emotions but has a weakness as well. Gilgamesh s weaknesses in this story are arrogance and pride. He displays this

Nova Scotia MathematicsCurriculum Analysis It is the messy, complicated picture of teacher work with multiple contexts, interpretations and impositions of curriculum that we seek (Ayers, W., Quinn, T., Stovall, D. O., Scheiern, L. (2008, p. 308). The Nova Scotia mathematics curriculum was designed based on several key assumptions and beliefs about learning. Not all of these assumptions and beliefs are in line with cognitive science literature. First, the Nova Scotia mathematics curriculum states that, students learn by attaching meaning to what they do and need to construct their own meaning of mathematics (Nova Scotia Department of Educationand Early Childhood Development, 2014, p. 25). While it is difficult to argue against the premise that meaningful learning is important,

United States ShouldAdopt A More European System In order to get a full picture of whether or not the US should adopt a more European system, it is necessary to assess the economic benefits and disadvantages of a more regulated system of geographical indication than the one currently in place in the US. This is not to insist that the EU system is superior to that of the US, but to instead suggest that the compromise will inevitably come from tighter rules on the US side instead of the inverse. There is a plethora of economic benefits of having strong GI laws that should all be taken into consideration when thinking about TTIP. The World Intellectual Property Organization, a major proponent of GIs, cite three main benefits to the practice and increased protections: quality signaling, increased market access, and small business and rural development (Bienabe et Al. 114). TTIP is notable for it s benefits played to small to medium enterprises, and introducing them on to the world market. Should European style regulations be included as part of the deal, this will have a massive impact on those enterprises, especially in the dairy industry. This is primarily because of the fact that GI s virtually eliminate rival goods. Without the ability for any producer outside of a given geographical region to produce the good, local business experience steep and powerful patronization (Benavente). Pope Urban II made a speech at the Council of Clermont in France, to mount the first Crusade to rescue the Holy Land from the Muslims (Seljuk Turks) and return it back to the Christians. Primarily religion and secondly economic gain would be the motivational factors to flow on from the Crusades. By way of background leading to the Pope s call at Clermont, the Emperor of the Byzantine Empire asked Pope Urban II to help drive the Muslims out of the Holy Land, hence the historic speech, in 1095, the Pope gave at the Council of Clermont. The Knights of Europe were promised forgiveness of their sins if they went on the crusade to rescue the Holy Land. An army of Knights, nobles and ordinary people re captured Jerusalem in 1099. Many more crusades would follow but they were not as successful as the first crusade. For instance, many writers, such as Fulcher of Chatres, wrote about the crusades, which he was a part of. Knee Joint ResearchPaper The Knee Joint (tibiofemoral joint) is a bicondylar synovial joint named a hinge joint, which permits flexion and extension with a slight degree of medial and lateral rotation. The joint is formed by the two articulations between the femur, tibia and patella. The joint consists of two articulations. The Tibiofemoral, which is, the medial and lateral condyles of the femur that articulate with the tibial condyles. The second being the Patellofemoral, which is, the anterior and distal section of the femur which articulates with the patella. The knee has two collateral ligaments, which are strap like ligaments, that stabilises the hinge motion of the knee to prevent excess medial and lateral movement. The Tibial (medial) collateral ligament originates on the medial side of the joint. It attaches to the medial side of the tibia to prevent forces applied to the lateral side of the knee from moving the knee medially. The Fibular (lateral) ligament is a thin and rounder ligament that attaches laterally to the epicondyle of the femur to the fibular head. The knee joint has two internal ligaments, the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments which contribute to maintain the proper alignment of the knee. The anterior cruciate ligament attaches to the anterior intercondylar region of the tibia where it mergers with the medial meniscus. Posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), located behind the ACL, which extends obliquely from the surface of the medial condyle of the femur to the posterior intercondylar space of the tibia. The PCL prevents the posterior dislocation of the tibia onto the femur. The medial and lateral menisci are fibrocartilage structures in the knee that, protect and cushion the joint surface and bone ends and increases stability of the joint. Differences Between TheAmerican And The Haitian Revolution The 18th and early 19th centuries were times of great development and turmoil in the Americas., as fledgling nations fought against colonial powers for their right to sovereignty. Two of these nations, the United States and Haiti achieved independence through a mixture of warfare and diplomacy, with dynamic leadership also critical to their success. The difference between them was surrounding race, as Haitian slaves fought for freedom as well as independence. Military altercations were key during both the Haitian revolution and the revolutionary war in the United States. North American battles with the British began in 1775 with the Battles of Lexington and Concord and didn t end until 1781, with a decisive victory won over the British... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By 1792, the French had sent troops in to try and restore order. These battles differed from the battles in the United States because they centered on ideas of racial equality. Poorly treated slaves and angry mixed race citizens fought not only for their right to have an independent nation, but for a literal freedom and equality for themselves. When Toussaint L Overture, a former slave, took over the Haitian armies in 1793, he was fighting both the British and the French, two armies fighting to possess an island rich in resources, including the slaves who were fighting against them. He was a powerful leader and an intelligent military strategist, and his capacity to control the rebelling slaves greatly improved their organization. Battles with the French dragged on until 1803, when Napoleon no longer had the resources to sustain the warfare and withdrew his troops. By 1804, Haiti was an independent republic governed by Jean Jacques Dessalines, who in a final expression of racial tension had the remaining white citizens massacred. Wade and Its Impact on American Society Few Supreme Court decisions have stirred up as much controversy, vitriolic debate, and even violence as the one delivered in Roe v. Wade in 1973. Four decades later, it remains a touchstone for the culture wars in the United States and a pivot upon which much of American politics turns. In fact, the authors of Roe v. Wade: The Abortion Rights Controversy in American History state that even today, the case (and its companion cases) remains the most divisive and controversial judicial decision of the twentieth century (3). Although it is a landmark case in itself, its continuing influence on American law and politics proves that its legacy lives on far beyond its formal resolution in a court of law. Essentially, the most important points are that the cause of the case s complexity and drama is the legal relationship between men and women that the ruling mirrored and compounded, the way the medical profession was impacted, and the political significance that the issue still holds presently. One cannot understand what Roe v. Wade meant to women or to men without understanding how abortion became illegal, and that story begins in the nineteenth century. In 1821, Connecticut became the first state to explicitly criminalize abortion. The primary purpose of this law was to spell out the conditions under which the state could prosecute an abortionist for an abortion. The

That is, Bertha, the main character who receives multiple rewards for being good, comes face to face with a ravenous wolf while strolling through a park. Unlike Little Red Riding hood or other fairy tale heroines, a prince or bystander does not come to rescue Bertha. Nor, is there any magical intervention. Instead, the story subverts the audiences expectation by having the main character killed because of her goodness (being too good) while no punishment befalls the wolf. This goes against the conventional happy ending, and the narrative good things happen to good people . Additionally, the setting and the verbiage used to describe Bertha is unconventional. The Fusion OfSpinal Fusion Spinal fusion is categorized into three different categories: cervical, thoracic, and lumbar, in conjunction with the different segments of the spine. Each type of spinal fusion has a different goal depending on the purpose of the surgery. Most surgeries involve fusing vertebrae together to limit its range of motion, thereby hopefully reducing the pain or correcting any physical deformities. Depending on the levels of fusion, spinal fusion surgeries tend to last a few hours. Complications may arise during surgery, and they greatly increase depending the location of the fusion, levels of fusion, and if the surgery crosses any important nerve sites. Levels of spinal fusion are known as the fusion between two different vertebrae. If there is a fusion between L1 and L2, that is known as one level of fusion. If there is another site of fusion at L3 and L4, than there will be two levels of spinal fusion. Lumbar fusion are further complicated when more then one level of performed. By limiting one segment s range of motion, other segments of the spine will have to compensate and create greater range of motion. With lumbar fusion, most doctors will need to be able to identify why a patient needs lumbar fusion, and being able to identify if lumbar fusion will help alleviate the pain. Most cases of lumbar fusion involve spondylolisthesis, fractures, spinal stenosis, scoliosis, and possibly herniated disk if no other further treatment has proven successful. Most physicians will order an

Best Welding Helmet Whenit comes to welding, whether doing MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, you need the best equipment. To get the job done well, as well as to make the whole process more streamlined, you need high quality gear that can help you finish your welds more efficiently. Another important factor that you have to consider is safety, and one of the most important parts of your safety gear is the helmet. While other pieces like your gloves or apron (if you have one) are crucial, the helmet is the one part that allows you to do your job well. To that end, I ve compiled a list of the best welding helmets on the market today, as well as created a handy guide for you so you can pick out the features and accessories you need for whatever job you do. How to Choose the Best Welding Helmet With modern technology ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Realistically, this helmet is almost the same as the other model on this list, although the two look vastly different. This particular model has a more utilitarian design to it, along with silver flames on the sides. When it comes to performance, this helmet has almost the same features as the other AUDEW model. The viewing area measures 3.62 by 1.66 , with an auto darkening function that switches in a fraction of a second. This helmet has two sensors for ideal results, and a shade variation of #9 to #13 when activated, with a resting shade of #4. For your convenience, there is a manual shade adjustment knob on the outside. Powering this helmet is a lithium battery with a solar powered backup. To help conserve battery life, this model has an automatic on/off functionality. What I like about this helmet that the other AUDEW model didn t have is the fact that you can replace the battery. With the other unit, you had to replace the whole helmet once the battery died, but with this, you can just swap it out and keep on

Media s InfluenceOn Body Image Ultra thin models are plastered all over the media today, but have these influential sources thought of the negative outcomes that could change society forever? The notions represented by the media silently incline girls to conform to an ideal that is impossible to reach. Due to their malleable brains, adolescent females are subjected to the image of a perfect body through media s adverse influence of what a quintessential girl is supposed to look like and the permanent impact it has on a girl s life. The definition of body image stems from a subjective picture of one s own physical appearance established by both self observation and by noting the reactions of others (Medical Dictionary). The pictures are not only fake, but airbrushed to a point where the actress, model, or famous individual barely resembles an actual human being. Christy Turlington s experience with airbrushing is an unpleasant one and she deems it necessary to call out the media that continuously allows this to happen. The idea of perfection and ultimate, top notch beauty shows adolescents that flawless beauty is the only type that will be accepted in society today. Airbrushing and other devices that are capable of fixing imperfections can lead to depression and eating disorders (Issitt). This only emphasizes that the media is affecting the overall psychological progress young minds adapt to. Additionally, at age thirteen, 53% of American girls dislike their bodies because of the media s influence; that number continues to grow as they get older ( Teen Health and the Media ). This directly correlates with problems that follow such as self consciousness, lack of confidence, and depression. The effect media has on an individual lasts a lifetime and becomes a serious problem to overcome as a result. Society is also affected by models and the theory of the thin ideal which in turn discourages a positive body image. Many individuals are also

Police Power Structures Thearticles I chose are from The Guardian and the Washington Post, and essentially combined they are an overview of what caused the tragic deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, the community response to it, and how large of a problem police violence is. The argument put forth in the Guardian article is that the reason why black men are killed by white policeofficers is not due to an atmosphere of tension and mistrust between minorities and police officers or police in general, that atmosphere is merely a manifestation of the institutional racism that exists within police forces throughout America. And in turn the government has been essentially inactive when it comes to real reforms of the structure of police departments and their policies... The police department is failing minorities because it is targeting them more than whites, and creating and enacting rules and instructions within departments that provide an atmosphere of tension and hate between minorities and police officers. Additionally, the subconscious racial profiling and targeting present in police officers is failing minorities because rather than protecting them, the police are treating them as their enemies. The government, specifically the Congress, is failing minorities because lawmakers are not passing proper measures to combat the institutional racism present in police departments. The evidence that not enough is being done by Congress is shown by the fact that already in 2015 385 people have been shot and killed by police in America, 100 of which are black according to the Washington Post. There needs to be proper legislation and reform to fight the discrimination and racism present in the structure of police

How The BallWith Your Foot Introduction In America it is called soccer, but in the rest of the world it is called football. This sport consists of a ball being kicked with feet with the intent of getting the ball into the goal. The faster the ball moves, the less time the goalie has to prevent a goal from being scored. If the ball is kicked directly at the goalie with incredible speed, the ball will be deflected and not go into the goal. Occasionally a player must direct the ball around many additional players to get a free shot which can be a lot of hard work. Sometimes though, a player gets a free shot. This uninhibited shot doesn t necessarily mean free points though. Most shots that score have a rapid velocity and are very accurate. There are two main ways of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The approach includes the steps before the foot plant. This article found that the greater distance the step is up to 1.6m the more powerful the kick will be. The biomechanical purpose of this phase is to generate power by increasing momentum. The contact phase occurs after the opposite foot has been planted and is the beginning the forward motion of the kicking leg onto the impact on the ball (What... 2014). During this phase the flexion of the knee in the kicking leg increases to cause an overall deceleration of the player but an increase in acceleration of the kicking leg to generate more velocity. The follow through phase is where contact is made and the kicking leg comes closer to the elbow on the same side of the body as the kicking leg. The leg essentially completes the path it began in the forward swing of the kick. The article goes on to mention the main biomechanical principles that influence a player s ability to achieve maximum velocity. They are the angular velocity of the lower limbs, coefficient of restitution, and ground reaction force. In the research article Three dimensional kinetic analysis of side foot and instep soccer kicks by Hiroyuki Nunome, Takeshi Asai, Yasuo Ikegami, and Shinji Sakurai, they found The average ball velocities of the side foot and instep kicks were 23.4 +/ 1.7 mВ·s 1 and 28.0 +/ 2.1 mВ·s 1, respectively (Nunome 2002). In this quote, Epictetus addressed those who aimed at too small an objective as well as those who wanted to earn both a great thing and the small one. How Social VulnerabilitiesAre Important Within Disaster... Throughout history there have been various definitions present on what a disaster is and the effects that it contains in relation to the environment and residents within the area. Society often has specific dominant worldviews in regards to disasters, which can pertain to or focus around disasters being seen as a hazard , unlucky , or an unavoidable event (Scandlyn et al, 2009). In addition, considering economic vulnerabilities allows for individuals to realize that the Canadian economy is more important rather than the livelihood of Alberta residents. These residents are faced with economic vulnerabilities such as relocation of their homes as well as an increased cost of living. Lastly, this paper will investigate the environmental vulnerabilities such as poor environmental management leading to an increased risk of climate change as well as the health issues that local residents face. It is important to understand that when the Alberta tar sands were created, companies such as Suncor, Imperial oil, Petro Canada and so forth were not concerned with the residents living within the area. Since the tar sands development occupies a great amount of space in northern Alberta, this project has affected indigenous communities such as the Mikisew Cree and Althabasca Chipewyan (Dobson et al., 2014). This land was home to both of these indigenous communities before Alberta s government decided to put forth expansions within these areas. As a result,

Most people think carefully before they get married however the divorce rates are continuously increasing. There are three main causes of divorce: changing in woman s roles, stress in modern living, and lack of communication. Consequently, their spouse may feel like they have settled for less and decide they may be better suited for someone else. This usually occurs when people just marry for money or material things. Those type of marriages usually never last and end in a horrible divorce. The final cause of recently increasing divorce is lack of communication. Owing to financial status in each family, many people are fairly busy. For this reason, they have inadequate time to talk to their spouse about their problems. Consequently, that usually causes divorce. Some couples are often quiet when they have problems with each other. Soon their little problems expand to big problems, resulting in divorce. Maybe if people communicated more with their partner divorce rates would be increasing so drastically. In addition to the three causes I mentioned, there are also two effects of divorce.
