Many areas are sought after due to their streetscape, environmental landscape and location to
transport facilities. Our heritage gives us a sense of living history and provides a physical link to
the work and way of life of earlier generations. It enriches our lives and helps us to understand who
we are today.

1. What is Heritage Significance?
The concept of heritage significance is based upon an idea that a place or an artefact may be
historic, scientific, aesthetic or social value for the past, present and future generations. The state
of New South Wales has two main types of heritage listings known as conservation areas and
heritage items. An item listed as heritage identifies that a place or object has some heritage
significance. There are four main permitted lists for heritage listings, for places that are local such
as a council district, state wide, Australia wide and internationally. Local items of heritage
significance are listed on Local Environment Plans, at the local council. The State Heritage
Register lists our State s most significant heritage places. The Nationale Heritage List contains
details of Australia wide heritage items or places. The World Heritage List contains items of world
wide significance. There is currently 936 properties listed as outstanding universal value. Heritage
places gathered from all lists combined demonstrate and illustrate the unique history of NSW and
Australia. As physical links to

A Reflection Of My Education In The Landscape Architecture
Presentations, Methods, and Media has truly been a gateway to what I believe to be the rest of
my education in the Landscape Architecture program. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of
this class. It acts as the training wheels for our design, style, technique, and literacy in the field.
If we didn t have a baseline built by this class I personally, as well as many of my peers would
quite honestly be lost. I came into the class thinking I had a great baseline knowledge of plans
and much of what went into the design process of a landscape; I was wrong. The first thing I
thought upon seeing the name Presentations, Methods, and Media was that I would be in a
lecture style class learning about how landscapes had been done over the years, yet again I was
wrong. The first thing Taze, a then quite intimidating individual, handed us was a pop quiz on
patterns easy enough, or so I thought. After about two patterns, I realized I had absolutely no
clue what I was doing, nor what half of the patterns meant. The whole class failing the quiz didn t
start my first impression of the class off well, but I was reassured by Taze each and everyone
would soon be masters of the then daunting patterns. We practiced for days upon days until the
strokes slowly became memory. We worked in and out of class to better our skills at the same
patterns over and over again, to the point I thought we wouldn t do anything else, I was wrong
about that one too. The strokes now seem to be memory and

The Human Eyes Of Primates
Sclera
One of the most variable aspects of the eyes in primates is the sclera. The sclera in primates
comes in multiple different pigments and SSI as seen in figure 2. In research on human eyes,
evidence concludes that through the sclera, health, age and emotion can be detected; redden or
yellow sclera detects decreased health, increased age, and even emotions of sadness or irritation,
whereas bright white sclera represents increased overall health [4]. The true purpose for the
evolution of the sclera is not completely clear, but many implications can be made to help
researchers better understand the complex evolution of the eye. One of the major topics for research
on the eye is the discovery that the purpose of the white sclera is to amplify gaze direction
whereas the darker colored sclera is to do the opposite; hide gaze direction from predators [5]. Not
only can the sclera help detect emotion and gaze but is a major factor in the evolution of
communication between primates.
The majority of organisms that fall into the category of primates tend to live in relatively large
group size and work together within their habitats to increase the overall survival rate. There are
multiple benefits of living in larger groups which include increased genetic diversity, increased
protection from predators and even more opportunity for developing learning strategies [7]. On the
other hand, animals living in smaller groups do not necessarily have as much completion for
resources or

GDP Per Capita
In the article 2.3 Adam Smith is making a point of defining the real meaning of poor and wealth in
a country. He was trying to know what the lands annual produce and labor of the society to figure
out the countries income.
The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita is the standard measure of average income used by
the mainstream economics. We all know it measures the total value of goods and services
produced in this country in a given year. This can help us learn by how poor and rich the people
are in the country so to say. The GDP Per Capita is not telling the truth because most people don t
get the average income they put out, most get less then it. The GDP also doesn t show the goods
that are made from farmers for their own family or

Child Murderer Personification
I chose the above paragraph to draw information from for my poem because the lead paragraph
immediately caught my attention. I found the article to be intriguing mainly as a result of the
disturbing topic it revolved around. Stories of child murderers are relatively uncommon and
oppose societal norms which is why I find them to be interesting. Moreover, I have always been
curious to learn more about child murderers as I do not understand why a child would want to
murder their family, which is also why I was drawn to this article. I did make one modification to
the original idea of the newspaper by presenting the murderer as an individual who is also
suffering from a mental illness, namely, schizophrenia. It is not mentioned in the article whether or
not the child suffers from a mental illness. However, I decided to present him in the way I did in

For example, I used personification in the following line My jaw screamed in agony as I gritted
my teeth . I personified the murderer s jaw by giving it the human ability to scream in order to
convey the agony and intense pressure it was subjected to as a result of the murderer gritting his
teeth. In addition, I used the following hyperbole The intense stare of her contracted pupils bore
a hole through my body in order to explain the discomfort the murderer experienced as a result of
the victim s open eyes. I also used imagery in order to create a vivid image of the murder scene in
the reader s mind, placing special emphasis on the blood gushing out of the victim s head. I
described the blood to be flowing out of the victim s head like a river and compared it to thick
black cherry sauce. I made slight changes to the conventions of punctuation and capitalization when
writing my poem. This is because I did not capitalize the first letter of every line. I feel like adding
a capital letter interrupts the flow of ideas for the

The Environmental Justice Movement
Environmental Justice Paper
Environmental Justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of
race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation, and
enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies . In other words, your health should
not suffer because of the environment where you live, work, play or learn. The idea of
environmental justice began as a movement in the 1970s due to the realization that an excessive
number of polluting industries, power plants, and landfill areas were located near low income or
minority communities. The movement was set in place to guarantee fair distribution of
environmental burdens among all people regardless of their background. ... Show more content on

Alfred Jules Ayer s Language, Truth and Logic, the Major...
In 1936 Alfred Jules Ayer published a book named, Language, Truth, and Logic. At the time of its
publication, it was understood to be the major thesis of Logical Positivism (Macdonald). In order to
understand the Verification Principle, one must first become somewhat familiar with Logical
Positivism. Logical Positivismis a school of philosophic thought that combines empiricism, the idea
that observational evidence is indispensable for knowledge of the world, with a version of
rationalism incorporating mathematical and logico linguistic constructs and deductions in
epistemology, the study of knowledge (Log Pos). The Verification Principle states that a statement
is cognitively meaningful if and only if it is either analytic or in... Show more content on

In the future I believe humans will return to the practice of having fewer divorces. According to
the Verification Principle, Logical Positivists believe a large part of philosophy can not be judged
as either true or false. Many statements concerning aesthetics, metaphysics, and theology have been
rendered cognitively meaningless and cannot be proven logically, mathematically, nor by
observation or experiment (Reilly). Woodstock was a great event for music lovers. Tonight the
stars will cease to shine. Is there really life after death? A.J. Ayers and the Logical Positivists
believed that cognitively meaningless statements had no truth in value, and that itself made it a
waste of time to debate them. Karl Popper did not like the requirement that meaningful sentences
be verifiable, stating the positivists criterion of verifiability was too strong a criterion for
science, and proposed that they be replaced by a criterion of falsifiability (Karl Popper). Popper
believed that falsifiability was a better criterion because it did not invite the philosophical problems
inherent in verifying induction, and it allowed statements from the physical sciences which seemed
scientific but which did not meet the verification criterion (Log Pos). Popper also argues that
science should adopt a methodology based on falsifiability, because no number of experiments can
ever prove a

Transgender Bathrooms
I was delighted to see that the people of Houston voted for common sense. Newt Gingrich had
remarkable words to say after the city of Houston didn t vote in favor of the transgender
bathroom law. According to Kaeley Triller, There s no way to make everyone happy about
transgender bathrooms and locker rooms. So the priority ought to be finding a way to keep
everyone safe. If you have a genderon your birth certificate, then that is your gender, regardless of
what you want to be. Debate.org states, Biologically, there are only two options male and female.
To claim that sex is fluid is insanity. This shows that you are either male or female, and there is no
switching around. Transgenders should use the bathroom of the gender on their... Show more

On the other side of the debate, people claim that it only matters about what you think of
yourself. But, there is no way to prove if you are actually a transgender. NBC Washington states,
D.C. police have charged a security guard at a Giant grocery store with simple assault after a
transgender woman said the guard forced her out of the women s restroom. The guard was
mistaken because the woman could not prove anything. She didn t know if this person was a
man or a woman because it is too confusing. She didn t have a permit or a legal document saying
that she was a woman. So, until you can prove that someone is legitly a transgender, they have to
use the bathroom of their birth gender. Genesis 1:26 states And God created man in His image,
in His likeness; male and female He created them . . . . and it was very good. Whether you
believe in god or not, this proves that we were created to be male or female. We were not created
to switch. Whatever created us had the best ideas for us to become successful. We were put on
this earth for a reason, and that reason is not to change between genders. We can t prove if a
person is a transgender, and that adds confusion, and also creates a danger of sexual assault.
Finally, Amanda Prestigiacomo writes, A Seattle man, citing transgender bathrooms laws, was able
to gain access to a women s locker room at a public recreational center while little girls were

Heroic Journey Research Paper
Ever since I was a small kid, I have always thought of hero s as Superman
Spiderman until I learned about the Heroic Journey. Most people don t really know what the
Heroic Journey is and think that a hero is person with superpowers, but in the Heroic Journey, the
hero can just be an ordinary person. This paper recognizes the differences and similarities between
Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Hobbit when analyzed through the Heroic Journey. Through this
analysis, it is clear that the majority of heroes start off weak but then grow stronger throughout the
stages of the Heroic Journey. Both The Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Hobbit have a herowho

Ronan who is a henchman of Thanos who is one of the most powerful beings in the world. As
they are doing this Star Lord grabs on to a item called the Infinity Stone, which would vaporize
anyone who would try to hold onto it because of the immense power. But as he grabs onto it he
does not get vaporized but instead him and his team who help in taking in some of the power,
are able to use it to destroy Ronan which makes Star Lord the hero of the universe. In The Hobbit
Bilbo grows and ends up getting all of the feuding armies to join together and battle the true
enemy, the goblins and wargs. This saves the mountain and helps all of the races to get along in
the end. But the king of the mountain is slain and his last words are thanking Bilbo for what he

renewed. Since I leave now all gold and silver, and go where it is of little worth, I wish to part in
friendship from you, and i would take back my words and deeds at the Gate (Tolkien 288). In both
cases it shows the hero at his full potential and shows him finally getting the respect they deserve.

Literature Review On Rural Markets
LITERATURE REVIEW: RURAL MARKETS THE NEW EL DORADO

The primary objective of this literature review is to understand the concept of Rural Markets in
India, and to find out the opportunities and challenges faced by these rural markets according to the
researches already conducted. The Rural Markets, as a part of the economy have been untapped and
have a huge potential. The urban markets in India are saturated and even though the contribution of
agricultural sector has gone down in the GDP, India still lives in her villages.

Darkness Alternate Ending
In the beginning there was only Darkness. He controlled everything and anything, but nothing at
the same time. There was nothing to control except Darkness: himself. Darkness had a smug grin,
a long black cloak, and the laugh of a villain. He loved the dark and wanted nothing else but for
everything to be dark forever.
There was a voice in his head that crushed his dreams and said, Someone is coming. Your time as
sole ruler has come to an end. Darkness will come to an end.
In that very moment he saw something bright walking toward him. His eyes closed and he used his
hands to shield them from the unfamiliar sensation. He yelled at the light to shut itself off. As the

At that moment the urn becomes unlocked from its hiding place. Darkness s sudden love has

Lancet Tone Deafness
Tone Deafness
Few people know the range of the different types of tone deafness. However, many people think
they have it. Tone deafness is does not refer to a problem with the ears, but to a lack of training.
Tone deafness is easy to fix by training the ears and the vocal muscles. Lancet is a music
professor in Boston who is tone deaf (Lancet 2001). Lancet express, tone deafness is a term that
tends to be applied indiscriminately to a constellation of music processing, perceptual, and
production deficits (Lancet 2001). This paper will examine the tone deafness real life terms, the

Singing is optional. Reaching for things is not. We all develop hand eye coordination as a part of
our basic survival skills. Nevertheless, we could go our whole lives without singing and be fine.
We want to sing, but we have to make a conscious effort to learn. Some people make this effort as
children, and we assume they were born with it. This is not so. As with anything, it comes more
naturally to some than to others, but we all have to learn. Numerous people believe that tone
deafness does not exist. Many people believe that they are tone deaf (Lancet 2001). Nevertheless, I
do not believe that they are tone deaf, in other words, people who will never be able to learn to
distinguish between notes.
Many of the tone deaf people have been able to work on their problem, and by correcting their
singing techniques, as well as releasing their constrictions, they have learned to sing in tune.
Tone deaf singers often have severe constrictions around their vocal cords (Gandour, 2000).
Usually they have had these tensions for such a long time that they no longer feel like tensions.
A person often finds psychological reasons for these tensions (Gandour, 2000). Gandour states,
frequently a singer has been thoroughly deprived of his or hers self confidence regarding the
voice (2000). One can lose his or her self confidence for many reasons. For example, I was singled

Comparing Witchcraft And Wicca Religion
As time moves forward many ideas and concepts move forward with it. Wicca and Witchcraft
then, and now, are seen through a new light. There was a dark cloud covering the topic of
witchcraft for centuries. This dark cloud has lifted and we are able to understand with a scientific
mind why there was a dark area in history covering Witchcraft. Witchcraft and Wiccaare not the
same thing, contrary to what many people believe. Wicca is the religion, and some, but not all
Wiccans practice witchcraft.
Witchcraft and Wicca is also referred to as Old Religion. This is because it takes place during a

Natural Disasters Research Project Earthquake: San Francisco, California
Earthquake An earthquake is caused by a sudden slip on a fault. We know that tectonic plates move
slowly towards, away from or past each other. Continents are parts of these plates which means they
move too after time. An earthquake occurs when the rocks break and move as a result stresses
caused by plate tectonics. but sometimes they get stuck at their edges due to friction. When the
edges overcome Earthquakes are the most deadly of all natural disasters. When an earthquake
strikes, it can make a difference between life and death. If you survive an earthquake it s
something you ll never forget. Most of the time it s not the quake that kills people but the
building and the things inside it that fall down. It can destroy pipelines, gas lines that can cause

Transportation is the method that a traveler uses to move from one location to another. Congested
urban environments makes transportation a challenge. Since they generally consist of high density
structures, activities and people. Due to the congested nature of urban environments, people who
live and travel in these areas generally have various methods of transportation which may include;
walking, driving a personal vehicle, riding a bike, as well as public transportation, such as trains.

Currently, The City of Toronto has implemented several infrastructures and services to create a
more sustainable method of transportation for individuals in urban environments, such as the
Downtown Yonge Business Improvement Area. Some of which are done by discouraging the use
of personal vehicles by limiting the numbers of parking spaces available, as well as implementing
traffic signal synchronization and ramp metering. Many of these services have improved the
congestion in Toronto significantly, however, due to the increasing population, the past
improvements are not enough. The higher population in Toronto makes the land that is available
more expensive and as a result, more people tend to have to move to new towns or suburban areas.
Therefore, cities need to improve transportation services that are already available or they must
create new and efficient transportation services to allow for better commuting (Farahani et al.,
2013). Many people who commute to Toronto tend to rely on their personal automobile. Studies

What Is The Ruination Of Women In The 21st Century
There once stood a haven on the corner of East 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue in New York
City. The Barbizon Hotel For Women offered a port in the storm for aspiring actresses, models
and female professionals who came to New York, to pursue their dreams of fame and fortune. New
York City was a mecca for dreamers in the 1900s, and the renowned Barbizon assured
impressionable ingenues shelter and protection from the sinister side of the cityand its citizens.
In spite of New York s iconic image as a world class city, the road to fame in the Big Apple was
fraught with danger; this was especially true for young women who were away from home for the
first time. Unscrupulous characters and lifestyles saw the ruination of numerous young women

Terracotta Etruscan Vase Analysis
I saw a terracotta Etruscan vase at the Walters Museum, on November 4, 2015. Created by Micali
Painter, it stands 16Вѕ high and has a circumference of 10Вј, excavated between 500 490, BCE in
Cerveteri, Italy. The museum provenance for the container states that it was purchased in 1902 by
Henry Walters from the Don Marcello Massarenti Collection in Rome( Black Walters). A close look
at the vase reveals unclothed, energetically running satyrs. Above them, birds face in the opposite
direction, closer to the neck of the vessel. The wild satyrs with their powerful physique caught my
imagination and attention. The amphora was created in the Archaic Period, historians use the term

Their use caused them to be indispensable, and their presence desired along with Greek imports.
We can form an idea of the main differences between Greek and Etruscan vases. Greek images are
used for their narrative qualities and symbolism; the erotic pleasures of mortal life and a prospect of
eternal feasting in the afterlife. Etruscan paintings conveyed a clear sense of an exuberant
enjoyment of life, with dancing couples and other human characters looking strong, healthy and
filled with life. The art captured human emotion much better than the more stylized Greek art.
During the 4th and 5th centuries BCE, Greek fleets began to plunder the coastal cities, the Gaul s
overtook the Po Valley, and without unity among the citizens, the Etruscans were overwhelmed.
Extensive sculpture and artwork were destroyed when around 396 BCE, Etruscans were overcome
by the Romans and absorbed into the empire ( Etruscan Collins). The short time period when the
culture survived independently, they created amphora that was magnificent in style, in my opinion,
and vital in its use. The symmetry of the handles suggests the stability of the symmetrical piece.
While gazing at the item, I realized that this ancient and delicate artifact is in remarkable condition.
To imagine all of the individuals that utilized the amphora in some way, and its travels throughout
its life during the last 2500 years, is a journey I will never fully

Salt Lake City Urban Planning
Economic development planning has increasingly become vital to the health of local economies in
the globalized economy. Local officials are tasked with balancing present day issues surrounding
local economies, as well as attempting to project where the local, state, regional, national and world

sustained development can occur without wasting tax payer funds. In the case of Salt Lake City,
planners have ben able to leverage the skilled workforce being educated at institutions like Brigham

Review Of Veelas The Veela
Veelas: The Veela are a race of semi human, semi magical humanoids reminiscent of the Sirens of
Greek mythology. Little is known about their biology; they appear to be young, beautiful
humans. Their looks and especially their dance is magically seductive to almost all male beings,
which causes them to perform strange actions in order to get nearer to them. Veela are thought to
have their own type of magic which does not require a wand. When Veela are angry, however,
they transform into something more like Harpies their faces turn into cruel beaked bird heads
while long scaly wings burst from their shoulders, and they can launch balls of fire from their
hands. Veela seem to be quite an irascible race. Veela hair is a magical substance,

tales are told of witches and wizards begging for death rather than becoming werewolves. The

Advantages:
Increase in rating from 1.0 to 1.2 with the increase in awareness and viewing of the channel by
investing in a major marketing and advertisement campaign. We can expect promising returns in the
long run with the rise of popularity of the network.
Disadvantages:
While the level competition is getting higher, we cannot wait for the long run, what we need is

I Have Developed My Self Assessment Essay
Introduction
My culture, interaction with family and friends, and the various experiences from co curricular
and extra curricular activities have enabled me to develop a multifaceted personality to tap my
potential. In particular different activities, projects, assessment reports, and feedback from
colleagues over the last few months at Babson I have better understood my strengths and
weaknesses, and work style and leadership style. In this paper, I have developed my self
assessment analysis based upon qualitative and quantitative materials I have, and my experiences
and exercises during this semester. I have identified three broad themes that incorporate several
subthemes representing my current abilities, preferences, patterns of strengths, etc. (see appendix
1). Further, I have developed my action plan for the next semester to enhance my strengths and
learn new skills, which are critical for my future career growth, to overcome my weaknesses.
Self assessment
Theme 1: I am action and performance oriented
Based upon my experiences, feedback from others and self analysis, I believe that I am always
action and performance oriented. My print assessment shows that generally I am not fond of
exhaustive planning or grueling analysis; I prefer things moving forward. I am spontaneous and
able to take risks. In addition, my self confidence has a calming effect on others while at the same
time mobilizing them to take action ( Paul Hertz Group | PRINT Survey | Unconscious

College Sports Gambling
With all of the controversy of gambling in college sports, why is the issue still an issue? The
answer is money. There were actions taken towards this by
Congress, but the problem is that it was never completely abolished. Congress had made the
mistake of creating a way around it. It is now commonly referred to as the Las Vegas loophole.
They outlawed the betting nationwide with the exception of one state, one state that is the capital

that it generates. Another reason the legality still remains is one not frequently mentioned, but the

John Shelk, vice president of the American Gaming Association, also stated It s not like
Congress is going to pass a law that bans legal gambling, and students across the country will say,
В‘Oh my God, I can t gamble anymore because it s illegal. Sen. McCain, co author of last year s
Senate bill, had countered his opinion to ESPN.com by saying, I don t think we have to choose
between enforcing existing laws on illegal gambling and closing the loophole on legal gambling.
McCain added, we can do both. McCain and others claim that eliminating legalized gambling in
Nevada would be an essential first step on stopping the college sports gambling. Critics disagree.
They believe that the attempt to chip away at illegal sports gambling isn t a logical first step, at all.
The fact of the college sports gambling, is that there is too much publicity, popularity, and money
surrounding this particular gambling sport.
In the beginning there was a problem with popularity. From 1951 1974, there was a 10% excise
tax levied by the Federal Government on the amount of sports wagers. The tax made the business

problems that most businesses face these days are more often related to their business security. We

Essay on Fall of Asclepius
Fall of Asclepius By Harm 1 and Icrick Prologue Where should I begin? The apocalypse
happened so fast. In less than a month, monsters infested every part of this world. People

the world. There was problem about fleeing from infested areas. Everywhere was infested. There

In fact there will never was, nor will there ever be, a time that would surpass the horror humanity
faced during the outbreak. We were put through a trial. Some passed and some failed. The worst
traits of humanity were exposed during the outbreak. But at the same time, the best traits shone
so brightly that the darkness of humanity dissipated. It was the survivors that fought to get our
lives back who had these traits. Many credit me with bringing together so many people, with
different ideals, to fight back or bringing out the best in people because I inspired them. That
was not true. It was thanks to true humanity. The humanity I always knew existed. It s just that it
was always suppressed by the darkness of humanity. If you said to me a year before the outbreak
that this would happen, I would send you to a mental asylum. I guess the joke is on me, so to
speak. I wasn t, what some would say, a confident person. I would just follow others and just do
my job. The outbreak changed all that. It changed everyone, especially me. Some people got
stronger due to the outbreak. Some became weaker. Being leader of the survivors? This idea would
be absurd to me before the outbreak. I never wanted to be a leader. I just wanted to get by life like
any other person. I didn t believe that I would make a good leader. But I was wrong. What was

Moor Research Paper
The derivation of the English term, Moor, is the Greek word, ОјО±П…ПЃОї or mavro which
accurately means black, blackened or charred , says taneter.org. They go on to then say, how
this English term Moor has been used to describe black or very dark things such as, Mavri
Thalassa which refers to the Black Sea. Ancient Greeks used this term to describe the
complexion of Africans or objects of that matter. The origination of the term Moor is even used
in various terms that describe the color black . For example the Spanish word blackberry , is
translated in Spanish as zaramora , which carries the root word mor . The term Moor , also

College. The college itself describe itself as, The only all male historically black institution of
higher learning in the United States. They go on to even then designate it as, the college of choice
for black men. It is now evident of the trend that initiated from Renaissance ages in Europe to our

Flat Tax Summary
Ted Cruz s Reforms on the Flat Tax and its Effect on Individuals
Ted Cruz, a republican presidential candidate proposes a 10% flat tax on all individual wages and
income. Unlike his competitors, Cruz proposes to eliminate the payroll tax and replace it with a
16% business flat tax (Rubin, 2016, p. 5). It increases the Standard Deduction from $6,300 ($12,600
married filing jointly) to $10,000 ($20,000 married filing jointly) while retaining the personal
exemption. Cruz proposes to eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax. However, the candidate does
not offer any tax reforms on social security as well as Medicare. He expects to maintain them at
their current level. Even then, the candidate has unique tax proposals, which are envisaged to ensure

In accordance to Paul s plan, this new tax will replace the gift and the estate taxes as well as
sealing all the loopholes that usually favor the bigger businesses. Paul is also in support of the flat
tax rate that he envisages as eliminating unfair practices such as double taxation of individuals.
Apparently, Paul in his tax proposal is against the disbandment of the IRS. He says that he
would minimize its influence. According to his proposal, downsizing the IRS will make him to
ensure an economic boom. Paul is also supportive of Fiorina s proposal to simplify the tax code.
He says that simplifying the tax code will create more jobs, expand opportunities for all as well
as boost wages. Paul became the unique candidate in the 2016 presidential race when he proposed
to oppose any efforts that would increase taxes (Tucker, 2015, p. 103). Experts believe that if
elected as the president of the United States, he will live to his promise, considering that when he
ran for the US senate seat in 2010 in Kentucky, he ensured that no taxes were increased during his
tenure. Paul s plan to oppose efforts to increase taxes is against the principle of adequacy, which
suggests that an adequate taxation system should uphold the level of public services demanded by
policy makers as well as citizens

The Awakening And A Doll s House
The Awakening and A Doll s House both share similarities and differences. They were both written,
at the time, toward different audiences. The Awakening was written in 1899, in English, and A Doll
s House was written in 1879, In Norwegian. Yet, despite these differences these works both find
ways to explicate the same themes and ideas of feminism, and the concept of self individuality. The
culture, at the time, did not promote the self individuality of women. The books main ideas,
therefore challenges these notions and illuminate the ideaof freedom as both Edna and Nora, the
central characters, try to find it. Nevertheless, freedom comes at a price and consequences that
cannot be controlled by the individual. Although both books illustrate this theme differently, The
Awakening by Kate Chopinand A Doll s House by Henrik Ibsenboth tell that freedom isn t
necessarily free and that it requires sacrifice.
Both their main characters, Edna and Nora, go through journeys in search for freedom and both
these characters are in conflict with their surroundings. Edna Pontellier, a New Orleans woman
who is married to a businessman, finds it stifling that he is gone for business trips and tries to
find love outside their relationship, and Nora, an upper middle class housewife, is conflicted by
whether or not to leave Torvald. Her marriage to Leonce Pontellier was purely an accident [...] (18

The Restoration Under Charles II Essay
The Restoration Under Charles II Generally, the English people had a great celebration when
Charles II returned to the throne in May of 1660.1 Many believed that restoring the monarchy was
the only way to secure constitutional rights. In fact, there was an expectation that bringing back
the king would return life to the way it was before 1642 and the rule of Cromwell. Charles II was
responsible for improving the government for the people. However, despite some achievements, the
king was not very successful in creating a stronger and more effective monarchy. He was dependent
on his advisors and other parts of the government from the very beginning of his reign. There were
constant conflicts between the king and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This council consisted of English men who held public office or owned extensive amounts of
land. Smaller committees within the council made all the major decisions.3 The king looked to
the Privy Council for help in solving the country s problems. Clarendon s main objective for the
council was to lessen the power of Parliament. Since the king relied a large deal on the council
for making decisions, Parliament did not meet as often.4 Clarendon also knew that the militia
was a major part of government, but he wanted to keep the army small. He knew that a large
army would make the people nervous about an absolutist monarchy. A small militia kept the
country safe from a possible foreign attack.5 There was one main issue that Clarendon and
Charles disagreed on very strongly: religious tolerance. Clarendon believed in using coercive
acts to eliminate dissenters. However, Charles did not want to persecute people with different
religious beliefs if they were not causing problems for England. In April of 1660, he put these
ideas into effect with the Breda Declaration. This declaration was the first of many signs that
Charles was impartial to Catholics. Parliament, however, sided with Clarendon on this conflict. In
1661, Parliament passed the Act of Uniformity. The act ended all tolerance for Presbyterianism
and forced all of its followers to agree to everything in the Anglicans Book of Common Prayer.
Parliament also refused to accept the king s

Who Is Victor Frankenstein A Villain
In Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, it is hard to differentiate who is the hero and who is the villain. In
countless stories, it is almost automatically quite easy to distinguish the characteristics between the
hero and the villain. This is not the case in Mary Shelly s novel Frankenstein. In the novel, we meet
Victor Frankensteinand his science experiment gone rogue, the Creature. At first glance into the
novel, many people would debate that the Creature is, in fact, the villain because he had
maliciously murdered Victor Frankenstein s family and closest friends. Of course anyone with a
properly functioning brain would say that the Creature is the bad guy but what some people do not
take into consideration is the Creature s background,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite being gifted with excelling academically, he believes that his beliefs are
indistinguishable to the rules of the world that he must follow. When Victor was young he had
always been curious about life and death, as he got older, his curiosity turned into an obsession.
A new species would bless me as its creator and source; many happy and excellent natures would
owe their being to me. No father could claim the gratitude of his child so completely as I should
deserve theirs (Shelly 4.8). Frankenstein becomes obsessed with science because it helped him
cope with the death of his mother, Caroline, and it is also his breaking point. His emotions
mistakenly lead him to believe that he can have control over the destinies of people s lives if only
he knew how. This is where his obsession develops. Nor could I consider the magnitude and
complexity of my plan as any argument of its impracticability. It was with these feelings that I
began the creation of a human being. (Shelly 4.7). Frankenstein does not take into consideration
about the consequences he may face before he creates the Creature. When Frankenstein beings to
understand the factors to what makes life possible, he uses science in trying to become God and
tries to control these factors. Who shall conceive the horrors of my secret toil, as I dabbled among
the unhallowed damps of the grave, or tortured the living animal, to animate the lifeless clay?

Asian American Case Study Essay
Asian Americans are diverse in terms of English proficiency, health needs and cultural identity.
There are some other factors, such as knowledge and beliefs regarding causes of disease, modes of
treatment, and value of prevention, which often delay Asian Americans from seeking out or
obtaining quality healthcare.
Asian Americans are often limited with English proficiency and a poor understanding of the
intricate American health care system. Members of the community may not know the right
questions to ask or even whom to ask and may lack a clear understanding of how to assess their

The Pros And Cons Of A Medieval Castle
Castles are huge, they are the homes to many kings and lords. They are made of stone and are well
fortified and protected against any attacks like sieges. Inside the castle there are many different
rooms with different purposes. Three of the most important rooms in this castle that you would
need to know about is the Great Hall, the Courtyard, and the Dungeon. These roomsall have a
different purpose and different than all the other rooms in the castle.
The first room in the castle you should know about is the Great Hall. It s a huge hall that you
come into when you first enter the castle. It lets you go into other rooms in the castle such as the
Kitchen, the Moat and even upstair and downstairs in the castle. However that isn t all the room
has to offer. It is also a dining area where the lord and guests can dine here since the Kitchen is
also in the same floor. The castle does have a lot of people in it so it s a place where all of them
meet up and eat. The furniture is mostly tied to the dining there s many tables and chairs but in
terms of decorations, there are red and green furniture on the floor and wall so it is fashionable
and not so its bland and boring. This castle is special because usually Kings and Lords could not

Military generals have always proven to be an important part of a war throughout history. It is no
different from the likes of George Washington. Washington showed his worth on the battlefield well
before the Battle of Trenton, but the Battle of Trenton sealed his worth. Unlike Washington,
Benjamin Franklin was not a battlefield presence, he was a man who showed his worth on other
aspects of the movement of liberty for the colonists. Franklin drove the front seat with the likes of
Thomas Jefferson in the movement of liberty for the colonists. A former scientist, who conducted

Kepler Myths
Myths of Kepler 62 planetary system and perspectives on Kepler mission
Since the very beginning of exoplanet discovery, astronomers have been seeking to find an earth
like habitable planet. This search especially rose in importance in the 21st century when we were
faced with intensifying problems of resource scarcity and environmental deterioration which
directly influence our being on earth. In order to investigate regions in the Milky Way to
discover Earth sized exoplanets in and approximate to a habitable zone, NASA sent Kepler, a
Discovery class mission spacecraft to identify planets in the Habitable Zone of main sequence stars
and to generate a better estimate of how many stars in the Milky Way have such planets (Overbye,

and spectroscopic techniques to model the frequencies of Earth sized planets near sun like stars,
which resulted in precise knowledge of the fundamental stellar properties, and thereby detected
the nature of Kepler 10, which is the first rocky planet of Kepler and the smallest transiting
exoplanet discovered to date. (Natalie M. Batalha et al 2011) Jason F. Rowe et al. (2014) used
fundamental parameters to present fundamental planetary properties based on an analysis of

The Little League Of The Baseball Cap
From a young age, girls and boys are separated in all walks of life; none is truer than in sports,
especially baseball. In 1939 Little League Baseball was founded for anyone between the ages of 5
and 18; leading with their motto Courage, Character, and Loyalty. This idea of courage was
especially true in the year 1950, when Kathryn Johnston tucker her hair under her baseballcap, took
on the nickname Tubby and posed as a boy for her local teams tryouts. It was not until after she
made the team that Kathryn revealed her true identity, leaving the local league no choice but to
allow her play. In just one year after that incident, the Little League regulations were changed (as
too should have their motto). Their new document read out Girls... Show more content on

In 2009, Jennifer Ring, wrote an article titled Baseball Is War ; in this article she references how
this law, no matter how old it is, will never really be accepted socially. She states that girls
playing baseball is still news. Parents who arrive at a youth baseball game and unfold their
portable chairs are still, in 2009, surprised by the presence of a ponytail (Ring, 12). It is not until
something as simple as a girl on a baseball field is old news , that we will be able to say, we are
equal. Perhaps Ring is right on the second page of her article where she states that, The battle is
cultural, not legal . It has been a females legal right since 1973 to play baseball, yet we see it less
and less as the years go on. During the 19th century, women s teams at six different colleges as
well as other outside sources began playing baseball. Baseball was a chance for these women to
step out side of their comfort zone almost and gain a freedom that they otherwise did not have
before. Martha Brady states it best with her quote from article Creating Safe Spaces and
Building Social Assets for Young Women in the Developing World When she says, To a degree,
being involved in sports appears to work against the repressive effects of conformity and
femininity and allows girls access to the more action oriented realm of adolescence that is
typically enjoyed by boys (Brady, 42). During this time a couple women stood out and began to

The Civil Rights Movement And The LGBTQ Rights Movement
Civil Rights Movement and The LGBTQ Rights Movement The Civil Rights Movement in the
1960s and the LGBTQ rights movement happening now seem different on the surface but are
more similar underneath. Many of the differences found between the two movements are only
comparing the outer layer and not what is going on below that layer. When you look at how
similar they are at the core, you will start to see a scary trend in the way people treat minorities
in our society. The disturbing truth is people fear differences. The two movements were started
during different times. The Civil Rights Movement started in 1955 and continued till 1968
(Janken). The LGBTQ movement was officially founded in 1986 and is still going on now
(LGBTQ). African Americans in the past and present are being discriminated against and
oppressed because of their skin color (Patterson). The LGBTQ community is oppressed and
discriminated against for their sexuality and gender (Singh and Durso). In the 1960s, the African
Americans were legally segregated from the majority because it was easy to tell the difference
between the oppressive group and the oppressed group (Jim). Looking at someone will not reveal
what their sexuality is, so this makes it difficult for the oppressors to separate them from the
majority group. These differences create the idea that each movement is happening for unique
reasons, but this is only when you look at the top layer of the movements. We know that both

Many areas are sought after due to their streetscape, environmental landscape and location to transport facilities. Our heritage gives us a sense of living history and provides a physical link to the work and way of life of earlier generations. It enriches our lives and helps us to understand who we are today. Property Values 4 1. What is Heritage Significance? The concept of heritage significance is based upon an idea that a place or an artefact may be historic, scientific, aesthetic or social value for the past, present and future generations. The state of New South Wales has two main types of heritage listings known as conservation areas and heritage items. An item listed as heritage identifies that a place or object has some heritage significance. There are four main permitted lists for heritage listings, for places that are local such as a council district, state wide, Australia wide and internationally. Local items of heritage significance are listed on Local Environment Plans, at the local council. The State Heritage Register lists our State s most significant heritage places. The Nationale Heritage List contains details of Australia wide heritage items or places. The World Heritage List contains items of world

  • 4. A Reflection Of My Education In The Landscape Architecture Presentations, Methods, and Media has truly been a gateway to what I believe to be the rest of my education in the Landscape Architecture program. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this class. It acts as the training wheels for our design, style, technique, and literacy in the field. If we didn t have a baseline built by this class I personally, as well as many of my peers would quite honestly be lost. I came into the class thinking I had a great baseline knowledge of plans and much of what went into the design process of a landscape; I was wrong. The first thing I thought upon seeing the name Presentations, Methods, and Media was that I would be in a lecture style class learning about how landscapes had been done over the years, yet again I was wrong. The first thing Taze, a then quite intimidating individual, handed us was a pop quiz on patterns easy enough, or so I thought. After about two patterns, I realized I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, nor what half of the patterns meant. The whole class failing the quiz didn t start my first impression of the class off well, but I was reassured by Taze each and everyone would soon be masters of the then daunting patterns. We practiced for days upon days until the strokes slowly became memory. We worked in and out of class to better our skills at the same patterns over and over again, to the point I thought we wouldn t do anything else, I was wrong about that one too. The strokes now seem to be memory and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Human Eyes Of Primates Sclera One of the most variable aspects of the eyes in primates is the sclera. The sclera in primates comes in multiple different pigments and SSI as seen in figure 2. In research on human eyes, evidence concludes that through the sclera, health, age and emotion can be detected; redden or yellow sclera detects decreased health, increased age, and even emotions of sadness or irritation, whereas bright white sclera represents increased overall health [4]. The true purpose for the evolution of the sclera is not completely clear, but many implications can be made to help researchers better understand the complex evolution of the eye. One of the major topics for research on the eye is the discovery that the purpose of the white sclera is to amplify gaze direction whereas the darker colored sclera is to do the opposite; hide gaze direction from predators [5]. Not only can the sclera help detect emotion and gaze but is a major factor in the evolution of communication between primates. The majority of organisms that fall into the category of primates tend to live in relatively large group size and work together within their habitats to increase the overall survival rate. There are multiple benefits of living in larger groups which include increased genetic diversity, increased protection from predators and even more opportunity for developing learning strategies [7]. On the other hand, animals living in smaller groups do not necessarily have as much completion for resources or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita is the standard measure of average income used by the mainstream economics. We all know it measures the total value of goods and services produced in this country in a given year. This can help us learn by how poor and rich the people are in the country so to say. • 7. Child Murderer Personification I chose the above paragraph to draw information from for my poem because the lead paragraph immediately caught my attention. I found the article to be intriguing mainly as a result of the disturbing topic it revolved around. Stories of child murderers are relatively uncommon and oppose societal norms which is why I find them to be interesting. Moreover, I have always been curious to learn more about child murderers as I do not understand why a child would want to murder their family, which is also why I was drawn to this article. I did make one modification to the original idea of the newspaper by presenting the murderer as an individual who is also suffering from a mental illness, namely, schizophrenia. It is not mentioned in the article whether or not the child suffers from a mental illness. However, I decided to present him in the way I did in order to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, I used the following hyperbole The intense stare of her contracted pupils bore a hole through my body in order to explain the discomfort the murderer experienced as a result of the victim s open eyes. I also used imagery in order to create a vivid image of the murder scene in the reader s mind, placing special emphasis on the blood gushing out of the victim s head. I described the blood to be flowing out of the victim s head like a river and compared it to thick black cherry sauce. In other words, your health should not suffer because of the environment where you live, work, play or learn. The idea of environmental justice began as a movement in the 1970s due to the realization that an excessive number of polluting industries, power plants, and landfill areas were located near low income or minority communities. At the time of its publication, it was understood to be the major thesis of Logical Positivism (Macdonald). In order to understand the Verification Principle, one must first become somewhat familiar with Logical Positivism. Logical Positivismis a school of philosophic thought that combines empiricism, the idea that observational evidence is indispensable for knowledge of the world, with a version of rationalism incorporating mathematical and logico linguistic constructs and deductions in epistemology, the study of knowledge (Log Pos). In the future I believe humans will return to the practice of having fewer divorces. According to the Verification Principle, Logical Positivists believe a large part of philosophy can not be judged as either true or false. Many statements concerning aesthetics, metaphysics, and theology have been rendered cognitively meaningless and cannot be proven logically, mathematically, nor by observation or experiment (Reilly). Woodstock was a great event for music lovers. Tonight the stars will cease to shine. Is there really life after death? A.J. Ayers and the Logical Positivists believed that cognitively meaningless statements had no truth in value, and that itself made it a waste of time to debate them. Karl Popper did not like the requirement that meaningful sentences be verifiable, stating the positivists criterion of verifiability was too strong a criterion for science, and proposed that they be replaced by a criterion of falsifiability (Karl Popper). Popper believed that falsifiability was a better criterion because it did not invite the philosophical problems inherent in verifying induction, and it allowed statements from the physical sciences which seemed scientific but which did not meet the verification criterion (Log Pos). Popper also argues that science should adopt a methodology based on falsifiability, because no number of experiments can ever prove a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Newt Gingrich had remarkable words to say after the city of Houston didn t vote in favor of the transgender bathroom law. According to Kaeley Triller, There s no way to make everyone happy about transgender bathrooms and locker rooms. So the priority ought to be finding a way to keep everyone safe. If you have a genderon your birth certificate, then that is your gender, regardless of what you want to be. Debate.org states, Biologically, there are only two options male and female. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other side of the debate, people claim that it only matters about what you think of yourself. But, there is no way to prove if you are actually a transgender. NBC Washington states, D.C. police have charged a security guard at a Giant grocery store with simple assault after a transgender woman said the guard forced her out of the women s restroom. The guard was mistaken because the woman could not prove anything. She didn t know if this person was a man or a woman because it is too confusing. She didn t have a permit or a legal document saying that she was a woman. So, until you can prove that someone is legitly a transgender, they have to use the bathroom of their birth gender. Genesis 1:26 states And God created man in His image, in His likeness; male and female He created them . . . . and it was very good. Whether you believe in god or not, this proves that we were created to be male or female. We were not created to switch. Whatever created us had the best ideas for us to become successful. We were put on this earth for a reason, and that reason is not to change between genders. We can t prove if a person is a transgender, and that adds confusion, and also creates a danger of sexual assault. Finally, Amanda Prestigiacomo writes, A Seattle man, citing transgender bathrooms laws, was able to gain access to a women s locker room at a public recreational center while little girls were ... As with anything, it comes more naturally to some than to others, but we all have to learn. Numerous people believe that tone deafness does not exist. Their use caused them to be indispensable, and their presence desired along with Greek imports. We can form an idea of the main differences between Greek and Etruscan vases. Greek images are used for their narrative qualities and symbolism; the erotic pleasures of mortal life and a prospect of eternal feasting in the afterlife. Etruscan paintings conveyed a clear sense of an exuberant enjoyment of life, with dancing couples and other human characters looking strong, healthy and filled with life. The art captured human emotion much better than the more stylized Greek art. During the 4th and 5th centuries BCE, Greek fleets began to plunder the coastal cities, the Gaul s overtook the Po Valley, and without unity among the citizens, the Etruscans were overwhelmed. Extensive sculpture and artwork were destroyed when around 396 BCE, Etruscans were overcome by the Romans and absorbed into the empire ( Etruscan Collins). The short time period when the culture survived independently, they created amphora that was magnificent in style, in my opinion, and vital in its use. The symmetry of the handles suggests the stability of the symmetrical piece. While gazing at the item, I realized that this ancient and delicate artifact is in remarkable condition. There were actions taken towards this by Congress, but the problem is that it was never completely abolished. Congress had made the mistake of creating a way around it. It is now commonly referred to as the Las Vegas loophole. They outlawed the betting nationwide with the exception of one state, one state that is the capital of gambling, Nevada. This has caused few changes, with the exception of the ever growing revenue that it generates. Another reason the legality still remains is one not frequently mentioned, but the question of the ban being constitutional. But no matter what the law, is there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... People of all kinds are in agreeance that the impact of this law would hardly be worth the effort. John Shelk, vice president of the American Gaming Association, also stated It s not like Congress is going to pass a law that bans legal gambling, and students across the country will say, В‘Oh my God, I can t gamble anymore because it s illegal. Sen. McCain, co author of last year s Senate bill, had countered his opinion to ESPN.com by saying, I don t think we have to choose between enforcing existing laws on illegal gambling and closing the loophole on legal gambling. McCain added, we can do both. McCain and others claim that eliminating legalized gambling in Nevada would be an essential first step on stopping the college sports gambling. Critics disagree. They believe that the attempt to chip away at illegal sports gambling isn t a logical first step, at all. The fact of the college sports gambling, is that there is too much publicity, popularity, and money surrounding this particular gambling sport. In the beginning there was a problem with popularity. From 1951 1974, there was a 10% excise tax levied by the Federal Government on the amount of sports wagers. The tax made the business unprofitable since the profit margin was generally 5% ... As we all know, the word internet itself is a very broad term and the security of the Internet would be the first thing that each and every company has on its mind in order to solve numerous business problems they come across every day and to successfully run their businesses. As everyone is quite aware of the fact that the Internet itself has never been a secured environment, so every company strives itself hard to take utmost precautions in order to protect their computers or their computer networks which are being connected to the internet globally. One of the major problems that most businesses face these days are more often related to their business security. We all pretty much encounter the problem of our systems being attacked by viruses. Since the king relied a large deal on the council for making decisions, Parliament did not meet as often.4 Clarendon also knew that the militia was a major part of government, but he wanted to keep the army small. He knew that a large army would make the people nervous about an absolutist monarchy. A small militia kept the country safe from a possible foreign attack.5 There was one main issue that Clarendon and Charles disagreed on very strongly: religious tolerance. Clarendon believed in using coercive acts to eliminate dissenters. However, Charles did not want to persecute people with different religious beliefs if they were not causing problems for England.
