Breast Feeding Persuasive Speech
One issue I would like to change today is breast feeding. I think it should be normalized. Yes, women
today have many benefits, thanks to our ancestors but I think this is an important issue today for
several women. How is it fair that we have spots dedicated to smokers but don t have a place where a
woman can feel secure while acting on a natural habit such as breast feeding her infant? Society is full
of harsh hypocrites. It s ok for woman to be braless wearing a tight shirt with her nipples poking
through them but it s wrong for a woman to nurse her child? If it was up to me I would strike and
force this issue to be discuss over the news and on blogs to unite more woman to join together and
make a difference. If I was new to motherhood and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It helps balance history as a whole. It teaches us about the benefits women today take for granted. One
women I was intrigued by was Sojourner Truth. She was not only inspiring but very courageous. I
enjoy being taught about women history but I m honor to learn about black women in history.
Sojourner was a formal slave who participated in both the abolition of slavery and the women s right
movement. What amazed me most by her was the fact that she was an uneducated black women who
transformed into a legend. She was an impressive speaker, preacher, activist, and abolitionist. She is
well known for her Ain t I a women? speech that she gave at the women s convention in Akron, Ohio,
in 1851. Her speech was powerful and raw. She challenge society by stating all women should be

The Association Between Moral Foundation and Political...
The association between moral foundation and political orientation in Australia: Do the American

Introduction Political preferences seem an obvious topic of research, as the findings of such research
are highly sought after. As such any research relating to what motivates political orientation would be
very useful. For this reason a great deal of research into the relationship between moral foundation and
political orientation has been done in recent years. For this study political orientation is measured
using a 7 point scale from liberal to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whereas a strongly conservatives averaged neutral on Ingroup / loyalty statements, while agreeing
with fairness / Reciprocity, Harm / Care and Purity / Sanctity and strongly agreeing with Authority /
Respect(Graham, Haidt and Nosek 2009). In an earlier paper Haidt and Graham(2007) found that for
extreme liberals, Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity where almost always relivent, however those
who are extremely conservative find that they value all five more equally when making moral choice.
This correlates almost perfectly with the earlier paper from Graham, Haidt and Nosek(2009), showing
that the findings seem highly reliable. Haidt and Graham(2007) go on to say that the recognition of the
final three moral foundations(Ingroup / Loyalty, Authority / Respect and Purity / Sanctity) is key to
allowing more fair and even discussions between the two political standpoints. Furthering on this
Tyran (2004) found that when a person is presented with a voting option in a referendum where the
result would be of financial cost to themselves, but would be morally right, specifically relevant to the
Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity foundations, voters tended to vote for the morally right option.
This demonstrates that the connection between moral

Regulatory Environment Of Hong Kong
1.Political regulatory environment
Political regulatory environment
According to World Bank Group(2016), Hong Kong is the fifth ease place of doing business with DTF
score of 83.67, which means the regulation environment in Hong Kong helps the starting of a joint
venture in general. This represents in the sector of paperwork for starting a business, burden of tax
compliance, ease of enforcing a contract and the matters relating to trade.
Political regulatory risks
Hong Kong is a free port and does not levy any customs tariff (i.e. border tax) on imports and exports.
However, Hong Kong levies an excise duty on liquor (with an alcoholic strength of more than 30% by
volume measured at a temperature of 20℃) of 100% of its value(Customs ... Show more content on

Besides taxes, importing Whiskey to Hong Kong is subject to other regulations, such as license or
permits, certificate of origin and health certificate etc (Yuen C. 2010). Whiskey traders in Hong Kong
are required to apply for licenses or permits for the import, export, manufacture, storage or movement,
which implies that traders need to apply for permit before they enter into the market(Yuen C. 2010).
Moreover, importing Whiskey to Hong Kong and selling in Hong Kong are required to provide a
Certificate of Origin, certifying the type, nature, quality and age of the liquor (Hong Kong Customs
and excise department 2016). The regulations in Hong Kong is very strict for whiskey traders in terms
of heavy taxes and additional requirements of importing whiskey. Despite these regulations, sales of
whiskey can still earn profit as they are selling at a premium price compared with beer and wine.
Whiskies are luxury products with high price and targeting at wealthy customers who are not very
sensitive to price. The higher price will offset the cost and generate profits in total.
Political opportunities
Hong Kong is special administrative region of China. Since 2013 China and Hong Kong has signed
the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement(Agriculture Food in China 2015). CEPA allows a zero
percent tariff between Hong Kong and mainland China. So goods can be first imported by Hong Kong
and then re exported into the mainland.

The Similarities And Contributions Of Akhenaten And His...
Despite more than a thousand years passing the Byzantine piece Emperor Justinian and His Attendants
shares many aspects with the ancient Egyptian piece Akhenaten and His Family. Not only do they
share the same title layout with The ruler of a country and His other figures but they also share formal,
religious, and historical aspects. Visually they have their own unique style with a couple small
similarities, symbolically they both use symbols in relation to the ruler and the countries monotheistic
religion, and historically they both experienced the destruction of art like them. By examining these
two pieces of art from their respective times and culture it is easy to the similarities and differences.
First looking at both Akhenaten and Justinian while there are a few similarities between them, there
are other aspects that makes each pieces form unique. Akhenaten is carved in a limestone panel using
the technique of sunken relief giving the carvings some sense of definition in the figures. The panel is
12 ¼ x 15 ¼ much smaller compared to the larger Justinian who stretches out at 8 8 x 12 covering the
north wall of the apse. Justinian and the other figures is done in the popular byzantine technique of
mosaic set against a golden background and their feet seem to float while Akhenaten and his wife are
sitting down grounded on chairs with their daughters sitting on their laps. Akhenaten and the other
figures are shown with the traditional Egyptian style of the torsos

James W. Dixon s The Mystery Of The Chinese Junk
The book I chose, The Mystery of The Chinese Junk was written by James W. Dixon. This book takes
place in the 1940s, and takes place in the city Bayport. Some people say the city Bayport in the book
is based on Bayport, New York, due to similarities. The Mystery of The Chinese Junk is a realistic
fiction book, and is written in the third person limited point of view. The theme of this book is that
there will always be evil in the world, but it s how you handle it that matters.
The two main characters in this book are Frank and Joe Hardy. Frank is 1 year older than Joe(18), and
has blonde hair. Frank is a tall boy, and is the brains of the Hardy brother team. Joe is the younger
brother(17), with brown hair and also tall. Joe is considered the brawns between the two s mystery
solving team. Frank and Joe go through many frightening moments throughout the story, becoming
more aware and efficient at cracking the Chinese Junk case.
Frank and Joe are often accompanied with their friends Chet Morton, Biff Hooper, and Tony Prito.
These boys are always solving mysteries with each other, worrying the Hardy s mother and Aunt,
Laura and Gertrude. The boy s father, Fenton Hardy, is often the one to give them their mysteries to
solve. Two more characters in this book are Callie Shaw and Iola Morton, Frank and ... Show more

The Development Of Downtown San Diego
The Development of Downtown San Diego
My beautiful hometown of San Diego California has seen great development and revitalization in its
downtown district in the past few decades. The city of San Diego now serves as the eighth largest city
and the seventeenth largest metropolitan area in the United States of America. As a growing region,
San Diego has revitalized and developed its Downtown into a dynamic business center, with vibrant
night life scene, and some of the most desirable real estate in the nation. Through the creation of a
development board, transit oriented development, business incentives districts, mixed use

Reagan, a conservative thought that the federal government had far too much power over cities, which
he believed caused many of the problems cities faced. With republican control of both the executive
and congressional branches of government, the GOP decided to give cities and local government more
authority of their economic development. The GOP takeover is one of the historic movements of the
20th century in terms of decentralizing the power of federal authorities and giving it back to localities
and states, (CQ). This new found power allowed cities to focus on what makes them unique, and
specialized development to revitalize their city centers.
Downtown San Diego was founded in 1850 by William Heath Davis. Davis aimed to create a
waterfront city center, located in what is today known as the Gaslamp Quarter. After Davis planned

in suburbs such as La Jolla and Coronado. It wasn t until the mid 1980 s when downtown San Diego
started to truly begin its revitalization. In 1975 led by republican mayor, Pete Wilson, the Centre City

Vengeance In Shakespeare
Vengeance is one of the most powerful motivators in the world. The desire for revenge drives people
to do foolish things based on what they think is justified. Virtue is another powerful motivator, but
when faced with the choice, most humans, including Prospero, would choose vengeance. Shakespeare
presents vengeance as a stronger influence than virtue in his play. The Tempest. In Shakespeare s The
Tempest, the main character, Prospero is a very vengeful man, but he does not start out that way. His
brother, Antonio, forced him out of his homeland without any resources, leaving him stranded with his
three year old daughter. An event that traumatic can corrupt even the kindest human being. Prospero s
need for justice compels him to wreck his brother s ship and strand him on the island. He tortures the
ship members with the thought of never returning home and the idea that some of their friends and
family are dead. What his brother did to him turned Prospero into a plotting and an evil man, not the
man who spent all of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Prospero was not fueled by virtue to attack his brother s ship; he was fueled by vengeance. Prospero
did not convince Alonso that his son had died because Prospero wanted to forgive him. He did this
because he wanted Alonso to feel the pain that he had felt when he was left stranded with his three
year old daughter. Prospero wanted to be justified, and he wanted the men who had hurt him to feel
sorry for their actions. Virtue and vengeance are two of the strongest influences on human actions, but
it is clear to see, through Shakespeare s work, that vengeance is the strongest. Without the desire for
revenge, The Tempest would never have begun. Humans cannot resist the urge to avenge

Spain Research Paper
The Spanish built an elaborate empire in the Americas, covering the whole western coast of South
America, all of Central America, the Caribbean, Mexico, and parts of the United States, including
New Mexico and Florida. It took years of effort in order to set up to colonize this big region and set up
a structured system. The 3 main motives of Spain was God, Gold, and Glory . With these motives,
Spain was able to conquer an extensive territory. However, the Spanish arrival in the New World
resulted into both negative and positive impacts. Spain did not want to only watch the huge success of
Portugal and not do anything. The Spanish began to focus their attention on exploration and find a

It s system under which officers of the Spanish conquistadores gained ownership of Indian land

The Spanish incorporated their law systems to the Native American society, as Natives started to

Feinberg Court Case
I agree with Feinberg. Criminals who have no or limited ability to perceive their motivations should
be treated differently from a legal standpoint. As a society it is difficult to justify blaming these
criminals for their actions and it is not morally acceptable. I also agree with Feinberg that even if these
people are excused from the legal punishments for actions that it is likely that they should be removed
from society in a different way, especially if there is a large likelihood that they will cause harm. A
case that exemplifies that is Durham V. United States. The argument in this case is that Monte Durham
was convicted of housebreaking and the case that will be quoted is an appeal case in which they are
insisting the conviction is overturned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The jurors should rule someone guilty if they believe that the accused was suffering from a mental
illness at that time and if the accused was suffering from a condition, but the condition did not affect
their actions, then they must be ruled guilty. However, if the accused was suffering from a condition
and the criminal behavior was a product of that condition then, the criminal should be ruled not guilty.
The court s ruling further exemplified some of the points made by Feinberg when it discussed that
jurors should be instructed by a psychiatrist about the mental illness and the effects that the mental
illness had in the specific case, and that the juror s should ask question along the lines of did the
accused know the difference between right and wrong, and did the accused lose the power of will.
These both relate to Feinberg because depending on the answer of the psychiatrist the accused may
have lost their rational ability to understand right and wrong or they may have lost their power of

Holistic Care Beliefs
As I begin my career as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), I will have to decide what
philosophies I will incorporate into my practice. I believe that holistic care is an effective way to
manage the care of a patient. It will also help me learn more about my patients. This concept looks
beyond a person s physical disease, and it includes all aspects of their health and well being. It
requires a provider to consider the patient s spiritual beliefs, mental needs, emotional status, and
environmental influences. I believe that spiritual healing is a major component of physical healing. By
incorporating holistic care into my practice, I believe I will provide the patient with the best care
available. According to Joel (2013), APRNs that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A basic concept of holistic medicine is that the patient s physical, emotional, and spiritual belief will
affect their overall health. The mind, body, and spirit must be viewed as one. The patient s cultural
beliefs and preferences must be included in their plan of care as well. According to Jasemi,
Zamanzadeh, Valizadeh, Keogh, and Taleghani (2015), holistic care increases self awareness and self
confidence in patients and causes nurses to better understand the effects of an illness on a person s
entire life and their true needs (p.214). As a new provider, it is important to understand that holistic
care may result in various outcomes. Some patients will not have a full recovery from an illness or
disease. The philosophy of holistic care is utilized at all stages of life. The final stage is a perfect
example. Every patient deserves to die with peace and dignity, and they deserve to live as
independently as possible until that day. The use of massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic care,
and naturopathy will be seen when utilizing holistic care. As a new APRN, it is important to educate
the patient on the importance of diet, exercise, psychotherapy, and spiritual counseling. When caring
for patients in a holistic manner, you must incorporate all aspects of their life in order to optimize their

The Solution And World Poverty
Many have been in a situation where they were asked if they would like to donate to a foundation of
some sort. We have all had an opportunity to help or ignore. Which is the main problem in the article
The Solution to World Poverty. Peter Singer, the author of this article gives various examples on how
people act in a situation relating to poverty. He uses examples from a movie called Central Station and
a book by Peter Unger called Living High and Letting Die. These examples were life and death
situations that emphasized on his main point.
This article shows how passion the author is about donating to children. He has touched me personally
by reminding me of my own experiences of donating to charities. There were some major points in his
article that I agree and disagreed with and that is what my article is based on. My paper shows the
major points I choice to discuss like my disagreements and experiences with donating. My paper is
responding to Singer, on how people deserve rewards for their hard work, about adults living in
poverty as well as children and how giving is an act of kindness.
While reading this article, I read a quote and the author believes, Going out to nice restaurants, buying

income is spent on things not essential to the preservation of our lives and health. I disagree with this
statement because people are entitled to rewards. People are

Max Weber s Theory Of Bureaucracy
Since its early translations, Essay s in Sociology (1948), Max Weber s theory of bureaucracy has been
used as a platform to study and understand the structures of an organisation, in service sectors.
However, many societies have undergone significant change since the development of the theory, with
the improvement of technology and globalisation, many view the bureaucratic model to no longer
have relevance in contemporary organisational structure in the 21st century. The notion that a
bureaucratic system can no longer be applicable to modern organisations is highly questionable, as
many suggest bureaucracy will continue to be a fundamental part of any organisation, but, the
application and implementation will adapt differently across the diverse range of organisations, even
coexist with contemporary theories, such as post bureaucracy.
It was clear to Weber (1948) that historically there have been great empires from Ancient Egypt to the
Roman Catholic Church and to China, to have encompassed bureaucratic system of sort in order to
develop and achieve their respective organisations. It further transcends to modern Europe and to large
modern capitalist enterprise (Weber, 1948, p.204). However, rapid technological advancement, and a
globalised and diversified world, has seen the transformation of industrial service society, to an
information service society. These changes have had significant impact on organisation structures
(Bolin Harenstam, 2008). It is perceived the key

There could also be a good fit in terms of product fit, with Pfizer being stronger in infant formula than
Nestlé which is more focused on growing up milks. To help with the costs, Nestlé said it would

recently announced that their sales in their main US and European markets have grown just 3.1%

Real Estate Property Pros And Cons
Real Estate Property Rights As Americans, we are able to purchase homes and become homeowners
without having to request permission to do so. It is the American dream to own a real estate and make
it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do whatever they desire to the
property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local ordinance and in some cases, a
regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to homeowner being able to do what they
would like to the home, there are also ownership rights. The homeowner has the right of possession,
control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7).
Right of Possession
Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with
ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred,
G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to occupy
the property and use it as they so desire. According to Carey, Larsen and Eldred, this includes the right
to keep all others from coming on your property without your permission (trespassing) (Carey, B.,
Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Contributions Of George Orwell
Orwell s Life:
On June 25th, 1903 Orwell was born in eastern India under the name Eric Arthur Blair. He went to
school in England then moved to Burma, which at the time was a British colony. He joined the Indian
Imperial Police and worked there until his resignation in 1927 when he decided to become a writer. He
moved to Paris where lack of success as a writer forced him into a series of menial jobs (BBC). He
took on the name George Orwell shortly before his first book Down and Out in Paris and London was
published. Orwell considered himself a socialist and briefly fought in Spain against Franco s
Nationalists before fleeing for his life. He wrote propaganda for the BBC from 1941 1943 and in 1945
he published Animal Farm which brought his name to fame. In 1949 the now classic 1984 was
published and the following year on January 21st 1950 he passed away from tuberculosis.
Orwell s Work:
Most of Orwell s work was inspired at least in part by life events and his personal political views. He
used his experiences in poor areas of London and the slums of Paris as the base for his written work
Down and Out in Paris and London. He altered some of his actual experiences into a work of fiction
that would be more interesting to read than simply telling his story. Orwell s later works often
contained his political opinions, which he did not masterfully incorporate until he wrote Animal Farm.

Survivor Fan Culture
Posted on an Internet forum, this comment from a Survivor fan demonstrates a key dynamic of the fan
community constructed around the program. This paper investigates elements of the audience
reception of the American reality TV show Survivor (Mark Burnett Productions for CBS, 2000 , US),
and the comment above raises the central issue I aim to address here. By exploring the show in terms
of its fan culture and examining the Survivor fandom in relation to existing theoretical and critical

nature of this fan culture or rather the picture of a selected aggregation of fans makes sense if one
considers that these fans didn t originate in a traditionally marginalized subculture (as with earlier
conceptions of sci fi fans, for instance). The Survivor fandom is conflictual because the source of fans
interest isn t the show, but rather the overall fractious and competitive culture itself. Fandom
scholarship and research on the Survivor fandom in particular will require continual analysis of fan

Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro Poem
Artist Joe Stephenson created Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro mural located on 2nd Street and Gold,
Downtown Albuquerque, in August of 1994 to convey the lesson we are forever frozen in time without
the knowledge of our past. Together we can achieve greatness in our future with the guidance of the
past. It s a sad thing when a culture, or tradition is forgotten and lost in time. This mural is showing us
how important it is to preserve New Mexican history, culture, and traditions for generations to come
and the negative impact it can lead to if we fail to do so. Stephenson, Joe. Sin Un Pasado, No Hay
Futuro. 1994, Downtown, Albuquerque
The colors in this mural reflect many different emotions. They may be Stephenson s feelings towards
the subject or our own. Beige neutral colors deliver a calm and relaxing feel. The red on the trains and
the rooftop, give out an energetic, powerful impression. The vibrant color of turquoise symbolizes
friendship and peace. The orange and yellow sunrise give out warmth and joy that spreads into a pink
hue of harmony, symbolizing a bright new day, and a bright new future. All these colors Stephenson
used represent simpler times of the southwest before the chaotic takeover of the Atchison, Topeka, and
Santa Fe Railway also known as AT SF.
According to Kansas Historical Society, the AT SF Railway chartered in February of 1859. At its
largest, the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway would own well over 13,000 miles, and the routes
which made up its system would become some of the most heavily and strategically used throughout
the West that remains so to this day ( New Mexico Museum of Art).
The Prensa de Albuquerque newspaper headline portion of the mural is dated Feb 1970 stating

The Best in The West selling land through Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe. The ad is trying to lure non

Diagnoses of Patrick Solitano Jr. from Silver Linings Playbook The character for whom I ve chosen to
do my analyses on is Patrick Solitano Jr. or Pat for short as portrayed in the film. Pat is a former
teacher with a likable and inviting personality about him but can be tell by the naked eye he has some
issues going on in his head. In the film he has just spent 8 months in a mental health facility and
comes to live with his parents. The reason for his 8 month in the mental health facility was him
coming home early from work and finding his wife Nikki naked in the shower with the history teacher
Doug Culpepper. Seeing that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although during most of his life being surrounded by those who are odd and obsessive as he is they
were also warm and unembarrassed by his idiosyncrasy. With all of that put into context I believe Pat
Jr. has Bipolar I Disorder with mood swings and Delusional Disorder brought on by severe stress but
happens rarely. 296.42 Bipolar I Disorder, moderate severity, with mixed features 297.1 Delusional
Disorder, Jealous type, First episode, currently in partial remission. Treatment for the Bipolar I
Disorder along with Delusional Disorder would be group therapy and family therapy, also finding
happiness through new activities and friendships. Possible Medications: Antidepressants, Lithium,
Antipsychotics, Anticonvulsants, Symbyax, and Benzodiaphenes. I believe the film did a fairly good
job showing the portrayal of Pats disorders with his mood swings to cause him be periodically violent
and obsessive attitude toward his ex wife. Pat loves his parents but becomes easily angered or enraged
by them as well as other people to go along with his old wedding song becoming a big stressor for him
taking him back to the shower incident. He would have benefited from a non stressful familial life and
pressure from his parents or peers early in life. He also would have benefitted

Incorporating Conflict Management and Negotiation into the...
Executive Summary
This report was written for the University of the Sunshine Coast with a purpose to make
recommendations for incorporating conflict management and negotiation into the field of information
communication technology. The report clearly outlined two conflict management skills and one
negotiation skill and briefly described and outlined the benefits and challenges. Conflict management
is the process of limiting and controlling the negative conflict while increasing and controlling the
positive conflict. Negotiation is described to be a discussion aimed at reaching an agreement.
Positions versus interests are a mutually beneficial outcome where both parties underlying interests
are satisfied with the integrative technique. The technique is beneficial as a resolution is quick to
achieve. If both sides interest are the same object then it creates several challenges when incorporating
this technique into the business. One of the most basic strategies of human interaction is that of tit for
tat or equivalent retaliation. If you do that to me, then I will do that to you. A good deed can be
returned if you perform a good deed to other company. However, a limitation is that this technique
works best in a long term. Compromising is a widely used and an effective form of conflict
management. Compromising works best when there is an item that can be evenly divided between the
parties involved. Compromising involves splitting the desired item evenly between both sides. It

Adam And Eve Loss Of Knowledge Essay
The tale of Adam and Eve, an infamous account in the book of Genesis, depicts man s original
disobedience in eating of the Tree of Knowledge and serves as humankind s first archetype of the
innate relationship between lost innocence and the attainment of knowledge. As portrayed in the story,
God s severe punishment of Adam and Eve for consuming the forbidden fruit insinuates that it is
wrong to desire knowledge, more specifically, the knowledge of humanity s potential for good and
evil. The resultant loss of innocence from gaining this moral comprehension is all too frequently
regarded as sinful, undesirable, and ultimately regrettable. The concept however, of pursuing a greater
understanding of the natures of others and oneself is not fundamentally wrong as it expresses a kind of
valuable moral growth. As evidenced by further analysis of the story of Adam and Eve, it is apparent
that although acquiring knowledge does ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the case of Adam and Eve, the two became gradually more knowledgeable after eating the fruit and
were forced to depart from the childlike innocence that they had experienced in the Garden of Eden.
This same departure is further illustrated by the responsibilities that children are assigned once they
begin to mature. No longer are they solely accountable for their own person, but their actions must
also reflect consideration for the well being of those around them as they now have the ability to
reflect upon issues outside of themselves. This erasure of ignorance is of great importance as it now
allows for the construction of moral dimension within mankind. The consumption of the fruit
symbolizes the acquirement of a wealth of moral knowledge for Adam and Eve and the recognition of
their individual obligations in human

Color Blindness In The Phantom Of The Opera
Social justice is the equal distribution of resources and opportunities, in which outside factors that
categorize people are irrelevant (Pachamama Alliance). Inequality in gender, race, sexuality, religion,
and possessions remain potent. While many businesses are working toward creating equal and just
environments for all of their workers, many problems regarding race and gender still plague even the
21st century, and these efforts to combat injustice are not always readily and well received. Frequent
theatre goers may be unaware that even the entertainment industry deals with discrimination against
women and people of diverse backgrounds. Although on stage it may seem like new shows are
bursting with diversity, behind the scenes there ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Phantom of the Opera also issued a similar type of casting method when naming Norm Lewis as
the first black actor to play the Phantom. However, the idea of color blindness is not a problem on
stage so much as it is off stage. The biggest problem that many black playwrights and directors face is
not that their work is not being produced, but that the pieces written about black communities by
white men are often racist. Because much of white privilege doesn t have any interaction with
blackness they have a tendency to congregate around pathology, and only focusing on particular things
in the urban environment high crime, single parenthood, things like that and then they sort of tag that
as being the black experience (Nichloson). Properly representing a culture different than the
playwright s or producer s without being racist is a very tedious and difficult task which is why it is
very important to have diversity in a show s production team. Black people are needed on the creative
team of a show about a black community in order to have a fuller perspective of what black is, what
black story is, and what black voice is (Nichloson). American theatre has its definite struggles with
gender and racial injustices, but theatres in Britain are facing the same problems on an even greater

The first scholar, Subhi Mahmasani was from Lebanon where he held many prestigious titles in the
political sphere such as: a member of the Lebanese Parliament, president of the Appeals Court,
minister of Economy, as well as teaching at the American University in Beirut and the Lebanese
University (LI, 145). The article published by Mahmasani in Liberal Islam is entitled Adaptation of
Islamic Jurisprudence to Modern Social Need. Mahmasani begins by explaining that the concept of
Islamic jurisprudence dealt with questions of religions, worship and legal transactions thus explaining
that the ulama (scholars) and jurists had to be knowledge in all departments of knowledge (LI, 145).
This knowledge comes from a variety of sources such as the Qu ran and the Sunna as well as through
customs, geography, and the search for the inner ijtihad (endeavor or interpretation).
Mahmasani s claims that after Sunni jurists agreed to close the door to ijtihad, because of the fall of
Baghdad in the seventh century, Islamic thought met a dead end. Mahmasani explains that the door of
ijtihad should be thrown wide open for anyone juristically qualified...what is right is to allow freedom
of interpretation of Islamic jurisprudence and to liberate thought (LI 146). More so, he later goes on to
explain that the Sunna is a contradiction because the prophet

Essay on The Oxbow
The Oxbow, Thomas Cole
ART 101
Thomas Cole uses an implied line to separate the dark, untouched forest and dark sky with the
tranquil, cultivated farmland below. Cole uses an actual line to outline the banks of the Connecticut
River bending through the pastoral land. Actual lines are also used to define the edge of the horizon in
the distance. He also used actual lines to portray the rows of manicured farmland. The first geometric
shape I could make out is the triangle of the tiny easel in the middle ground. Other geometric shapes
include the outlines of the pastures and fields. You see very angular boundaries and rows of plowed
fields. There are plenty of organic shapes as well. Most notably of course is the shape of the ... Show

The actual light doesn t appear to have an effect on this paining. However, implied light does. Cole
uses chiaroscuro to create the illusion of the ominous nature of the forest and the dark clouds, the
impression of heavy rain clouds. Cole uses a strong value contrast between the natural forest and the
serine river valley. Light as a medium seems to me defined as actual light, which I do not believe is
used in two dimensional works.
I believe color, and in part lack of, is very important to this masterpiece. Cole colors the river valley
light green and light brown to show vibrancy and cultivation of the cleared fields. He colors the forest
dark green and eliminates colors in the shattered tree trunks and rugged cliffs to show the natural
wonder of the untouched forest. These differences in color show how man is destroying the natural
wilderness in favor of agricultural advancement.
I believe Cole purposely avoided the appearance of unity in this painting. The separation between the
two landscapes was not a peaceful transition. He wanted to show the diversity between the natural
land from the cultivated land.
I believe this painting is intentionally asymmetrical. Again, Cole wanted to show the non peaceful
transition between the two landscapes.

My Mind Is Playing Tricks On You
Your mind is Playing Tricks on You There are so many topics people question about the world.
Whether its conspiracy theories, superstitions, ghost, religion or even supernatural experiences.
Everybody has their own beliefs. Why don t we all just believe in one... Logic! People are scared to

do the right thing just in case . Why don t they test their theories to actually really find out for

proven logically. Religion, or more concise, prayer is the main topic around the world. Everyone has
different beliefs, and believe in different or many Gods. Are they all real? Probably not. Many can say
that prayer works, but fail to see both sides of the story. The bible for instance, one can agree that they

Rape As A Weapon Of War
Being a part of a global community comes with many responsibilities and duties. People of the global
community have to be aware of the dangers that are present in the lives of many people all over the
globe. Human Rights issues are quite serious and violations of these rights should not be taken lightly.
In exploration of a global human rights issue, the discovery of rape as a tool in war was a gross
violation of human rights as well as overwhelmingly a gender issue. Rape used as a tool of war has
devastated and destroyed people, communities, families, and traditions. When discussing rape as
weapon of war, there are two main modern day conflicts that can not be overlooked. Rape as a weapon
of war is brought into light by the wars of Congo and Bosnia. These two conflicts brought the eyes of
the world onto the global issue of rape in war and more specifically how it is used as a tool of
ethnocide and genocide. The recent conflict in the Congo has been rooted in the 1994 Rwandan
Genocide and related violence in Burundi which saw hundreds of thousands of Hutus flee both
countries into eastern Zaïre. (First and Second) In the Rwandan genocide, Hutu power groups (called
the Interahamwe and the Impuzamugambi) led mass killings of Tutsis and pro peace Hutus, murdering
800,000 people in approximately 100 days. (Congo) In response, the Tutsi led Rwandan Patriotic
Front, or RPF, overthrew the Rwandan Hutu government.

average weight of a foundation is seven and a half tons (Alexander, pg. 2). a. Basement foundations
are common in the northeast (89% of all houses) and midwestern (75%) part of the country. They
provide additional room for families and one of the least expensive ways to expand a home
(Anonymous, 2014). b. The next foundation commonly found in the the midwest as well is called a
crawlspace. The Do It Yourself Network says this foundation gets it name because the house is
literally built above the ground and provides only enough room to crawl under the house
(Anonymous, 2014). c. The last foundation is typically found in the south called a concrete slab
foundation. This foundation is poured directly on the ground due to hardly any movement from frost
and saves on cost. Note that you are not restricted to have a specific foundation due to the region you

Patience Required for the Writing Process
The writing process is, for me, a tedious procedure that requires a great deal of thought and proper
planning. At one point I used to think that good writers were talented individuals who understood
things like grammar and composition but over the years I ve come to believe that good writers have
patience. The kind of patience you would have to have when you re staring at a screen for ages, trying
to put a few thousand sentences together and have it all mean something. In my eyes, writing is far
from its own reward; it is a means to an end that can leave you irritated or angry. I would argue that
those who enjoy writing are not doing it right, but I suppose we are all individuals with our own
methods this is mine. First and foremost, before I begin a project, I take a minute to think about what I
am writing about. This might seem pretty elementary, but when I say a minute, I m really talking
about hours, even days if I can afford to. This sort of thinking can occur anywhere, but it usually
happens right in front of my computer and as one would expect, it is absolutely exhausting. During
this time, I might poke at my keyboard and attempt to put a few words together, but these early
musings rarely make the final cut. That being said, I would like to think that my approach is pretty
straightforward, but some might view it as a bit manic. I can say with absolute certainty, that anxiety is
my worst enemy when it comes to writing especially if what I m trying to

regrets. If I live the rest of my life second guessing myself and doing the same thing every day; I will

Even though the speaker points the man of moderation as the most pernicious enemy, his name (an

means not bad but not good. In my opinion the Roarer is the most dangerous, because he is very

beliefs and not facts. He analyzes the situation and then makes an assumption. And the least harmful
would be the man of moderation for the facts mentioned above.

Practice). Overall, The Beatles deviated from the one man band to become much more inspiring,
collaborative, and goal oriented. This was a result of relying on one another, openness, and
authenticity, which helped them to produce creative and ground breaking music.
Some may say The Beatles were creative individuals and others may state that they were pure
geniuses. Consequently, The Beatles simply practiced team innovation by using problem to solution
and solution to problem methodology known as two way innovation. This means as a group, they
observed the problem, then created a solution. For instance, The Beatles played in Liverpool for an
hour session but needed to get better venues. They proactively cooperated to brainstorm, write, and
produce songs, which brought the group to new creative heights. We got better and more confident. In
Liverpool we only ever did one hour sessions and we only did our best numbers the same ones, over
and over. In Hamburg we had to play for eight hours so, we really had to find a new way of playing
(Tamer Kattan, Smarter Harder). The group also envisioned hypothetical solutions connected to
worthy problems. Often one of the pair would add a middle eight or bridge section to the other s verse
and chorus. Lennon called it Writing eyeball to eyeball and Playing into each other s

Analysis Of Blanche Dubois s
Blanche DuBois arrives to visit her sister, Mrs. Stella Kowalski, who lives in the French Quarter
ofNew Orleans. She is shocked by the (low quality/low class) looks of the place. While a
neighborgoes to find Stella, Blanche looks around the apartment for a drink. When her sister
comes,Blanche quite honestly (says bad things about) the place. She explains that she has come for
avisit because her nerves are shattered from teaching. Noticing that the apartment has only tworooms,
she has fears about staying but she tells Stella that she can t stand being alone. She explains to Stella
that their old (related to a person s relatives going way back for many years) home, Belle Reve, has
been lost. While Stella goes to the bathroom, Stanley, her husband, enters and meets Blanche. He
questions her about her past and especially about her earliermarriage, which upsets Blanche to the
point that she feels sick. The following night Stella and Blanche plan to have dinner out and go to a
movie while Stanleyplays poker with his friends. But before they leave, Stanley wants to know how
Belle Reve waslost. Blanche tries to explain and gives him all the papers and documents having to do
with theplace. Later that night when Blanche and Stella return from their movie, the men are still
playingpoker. Blanche meets Mitch, one of Stanley s friends, who seems to be more sensitive than
theothers. While Mitch is in the second room talking to Blanche, Stanley becomes angry over aseries
of events,

Comparing The Cellular Morphology Of Table 2
Comparing the cellular morphology of table 2 to their respective pure culture in table 3. B. cereus
presented with a white colony, round colony morphology, smooth margins and flat elevation in both
pure culture and isolated culture; E. coli presented with a Yellow colony, round colony morphology,
smooth margins, and flat elevation; S. aureus presented with a White colony; round colony
morphology, smooth margins, and raised elevation.
In comparison of the cellular morphology of each bacterium in the mixture (table 2) to their respective
pure culture (table 3) showed that Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus are
present in the mixed culture as their respective cellular morphology was the same as compared to the

However, additional tests can be performed to further differentiate the three bacteria from one another.
One example is the BactiStaph test for the Staphylococcus genus (in this case S. aureus) (Summers,
Brookings and Waites, 1998). Which relies on the principle of detecting coagulase (clumping factor)
using fibrinogen, and detecting protein A with immunoglobulin G. As result of these surface markers
present on most strains of S. aureus will test positive for BactiStaph test (Summers, Brookings and
Waites, 1998; Harris, Foster and Richards, 2002); Another test to differentiate E. coli and B. cereus
from S. aureus is by the basis of motility. Using either MAST motility test or hanging drop method
differentiate E. coli and B. cereus from S. aureus, as the two bacteria are motile (Mitchell and Kogure,
2006); Lastly, since neither E. coli nor S. aureus produce endospores, whilst B. cereus under the right
conditions does produce endospores. By using techniques such as Dipicolinic acid assay or Schaeffer
Fulton spore stain can be used to assess the presence of spores in B. cereus (Hindle Hall, 1999).
Three plating methods can be used to produce well separated single colonies, streak plate procedure,
spread plate and the pour plate procedure (Sanders, 2012). Spread plate procedure is used to separate
microbes contained within a small sample volume (e.g. mixed broth culture) which is then spread over
an agar

The Theme of Freedom in The Adventures of Huckleberry...
Freedom is what defines an individual, it bestows upon someone the power to act, speak, or think
without externally imposed restraints. Therefore, enslavement may be defined as anything that
impedes one s ability to express their freedoms. However, complete uncompromised freedom is
virtually impossible to achieve within a society due to the contrasting views of people. Within Mark
Twain s 1885 novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, numerous controversies are prevalent
throughout the novel, primarily over the issue of racism and the general topic of enslavement. The
characters in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn along with their development take an unmistakable,
resilient stand against racism and by doing such in direct relation ... Show more content on

He like the majority of the Deep South s population was forced to submit to popular religion in the
form of Christianity, being racist and not being able to criticize the institution of slavery, as well as
acting like a proper boy and being civilized with manors, rules, and restrictions. However, he is the
polar opposite of the ideals expressed by his society. Huck is forced to reside with Widow Douglas, he
describes the experience in the first chapter, She took me... allowed she would sivilize me; but it was
rough living in the house all the time ... I wanted to smoke, and asked the widow to let me. But she
wouldn t. She said... I must try to not do it any more. (Twain, 2). In this particular environment, Huck
is forcefully civilized by the Widow Douglas as well as Miss Watson. This essentially shows an
indirect form of slavery in which Huck is forced to do as society and his elders dictate regardless of
what he believes in which many of us are also subject to. This enslaves him and leads him to decide
that he needs to relocate himself as far away from society as possible. Therefore, he forges his death
and runs away meeting Jim on the way. This idea of Huck being controlled by society influences him
through the novel, for instance he thinks about turning Jim in because it is wrong to steal since Jim is

The Characteristics Of Leonardo Da Vinci s The Dwarf
Leonardo da Vinci was a very intellectual man who had a sparking curiosity in the history about
people and life. He contributed so much to the field of physiology. It is believed that almost all of his
paintings are based on the anatomical structure behind it. Da Vinci was interested in studying the
formation of living things. He is fascinated by the human anatomy.
Leonardo learned anatomy initially from the old Greeks and Romans. Leonardo immersed himself in
human post mortem examinations. He critically examined 30 human corpses at a time when nobody
was performing these examinations. He went from fetuses to babyhood to old age. He wanted to
recognize each part of the human body, including bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and the ... Show

He was so fascinated by what he doing...nothing else was seemed to exist for him except his
nauseating occupation. His face was as delighted as though he were at a festival. This piece of
evidence strongly supports my claim because it directly states the observation and description on Da
Vinci s state of being and eludes the same information provided in different articles. Because Bernardo
is a character in a novel, a more detailed and vivid image is imprinted in the brain of the reader
(Lagerkvist 65, 36, 37, 39).
Anatomy took a large part in the three years it took to create and perfect Mona Lisa s smile. Da Vinci
spent hours in the morgue studying many cadavers and pulling off their skin to revel the muscles
around the mouth. He was intrigued to know how a smile forms, but was more astonished and curious
about the relationship between the brain and the nervous system. He experienced difficulties for the
lips are small and the nerves go deep into the body. He kept a journal with sketches he made of his
observations. One drawing included the dissection of two arms and hands; he then placed them next to
different face profiles. He observed different kinds of facial expressions and developed how to create
an angry facial expression. Make the nostrils drawn up, causing furrows in the side of the nose, and
the lips arched to disclose the upper teeth, with the teeth parted in order to shriek lamentations. Mona

Essay On Noncompete Agreements
Operating a business can be challenging, especially when managing employees, but an attorney can
help design and implement noncompete agreements to protect your company. Unfortunately, you may
not realize the different options in regards to these legal agreements. With this guide, you will
understand the different types of noncompetes and learn how they can protect your business. Non
competition/Classic Agreement The most common agreement is the non competition agreement. Non
competition agreements will prohibit your employee from working for a competitor of your company.
This reduces the risk of a former employee competing against your business, since they will have had
an inside scoop on your business operation, products, or services. ... Show more content on

Confidentiality Agreements During the initial hiring process, you should have your new employee
sign a confidentiality agreement. While surprising to learn, a confidentiality agreement is different
from noncompete agreements. A confidentiality agreement asks that the employee keeps all business
related information confidential during and after employment. Not only will this agreement hold the
employee liable if information is disclosed to competitors and third parties, but the confidentiality
agreement also holds you liable in case information regarding your employee is ever disclosed. Are
You Required? It is important to note that you are not required to ask potential employees to sign a
noncompete agreement. However, investing the time and energy into drafting these agreements can
protect your business reputation, name, and finances from serious devastation. When meeting with
your attorney, be sure to understand your state s laws regarding employee rights and noncompetes.
Also, if you plan to ask on employee to sign the agreement, you must ask all employees to agree to the
noncompete. This reduces your risk of discrimination lawsuits, which can be physically, emotionally,
and financially devastating to your

HAYDEN TIPPING 100594202 Swinburne University of Technology Psych 101 Assesment 1 Due Date: 31st August 2015 Tutorial: Thursday 4.30 5.30 Introduction Political preferences seem an obvious topic of research, as the findings of such research are highly sought after. As such any research relating to what motivates political orientation would be very useful. For this reason a great deal of research into the relationship between moral foundation and political orientation has been done in recent years. This correlates almost perfectly with the earlier paper from Graham, Haidt and Nosek(2009), showing that the findings seem highly reliable. Haidt and Graham(2007) go on to say that the recognition of the final three moral foundations(Ingroup / Loyalty, Authority / Respect and Purity / Sanctity) is key to allowing more fair and even discussions between the two political standpoints. Furthering on this Tyran (2004) found that when a person is presented with a voting option in a referendum where the result would be of financial cost to themselves, but would be morally right, specifically relevant to the Harm / Care and Fairness / Reciprocity foundations, voters tended to vote for the morally right option. This demonstrates that the connection between moral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite more than a thousand years passing the Byzantine piece Emperor Justinian and His Attendants shares many aspects with the ancient Egyptian piece Akhenaten and His Family. Not only do they share the same title layout with The ruler of a country and His other figures but they also share formal, religious, and historical aspects. Visually they have their own unique style with a couple small similarities, symbolically they both use symbols in relation to the ruler and the countries monotheistic religion, and historically they both experienced the destruction of art like them. By examining these two pieces of art from their respective times and culture it is easy to the similarities and differences. First looking at both Akhenaten and Justinian while there are a few similarities between them, there are other aspects that makes each pieces form unique. Akhenaten is carved in a limestone panel using the technique of sunken relief giving the carvings some sense of definition in the figures. The panel is 12 ¼ x 15 ¼ much smaller compared to the larger Justinian who stretches out at 8 8 x 12 covering the north wall of the apse. Justinian and the other figures is done in the popular byzantine technique of mosaic set against a golden background and their feet seem to float while Akhenaten and his wife are sitting down grounded on chairs with their daughters sitting on their laps. As a society it is difficult to justify blaming these criminals for their actions and it is not morally acceptable. • 13. Max Weber s Theory Of Bureaucracy Since its early translations, Essay s in Sociology (1948), Max Weber s theory of bureaucracy has been used as a platform to study and understand the structures of an organisation, in service sectors. However, many societies have undergone significant change since the development of the theory, with the improvement of technology and globalisation, many view the bureaucratic model to no longer have relevance in contemporary organisational structure in the 21st century. The notion that a bureaucratic system can no longer be applicable to modern organisations is highly questionable, as many suggest bureaucracy will continue to be a fundamental part of any organisation, but, the application and implementation will adapt differently across the diverse range of organisations, even coexist with contemporary theories, such as post bureaucracy. It was clear to Weber (1948) that historically there have been great empires from Ancient Egypt to the Roman Catholic Church and to China, to have encompassed bureaucratic system of sort in order to develop and achieve their respective organisations. It further transcends to modern Europe and to large modern capitalist enterprise (Weber, 1948, p.204). It is the American dream to own a real estate and make it a home for the family. As homeowners, a person has the right to do whatever they desire to the property at any time as long as it is not against any law, local ordinance and in some cases, a regulations set forth by a community association. In addition to homeowner being able to do what they would like to the home, there are also ownership rights. The homeowner has the right of possession, control, quiet enjoyment, and disposition (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). Right of Possession Whoever holds the title, owns the property. The title and deed validates ownership and along with ownership comes the right of possession, within legal limitations (Carey, B., Larsen, J.E., Eldred, G.W., 2016, p. 7). One of the pros of owning property is that the homeowner has the right to occupy the property and use it as they so desire. He moved to Paris where lack of success as a writer forced him into a series of menial jobs (BBC). He took on the name George Orwell shortly before his first book Down and Out in Paris and London was published. Orwell considered himself a socialist and briefly fought in Spain against Franco s Nationalists before fleeing for his life. He altered some of his actual experiences into a work of fiction that would be more interesting to read than simply telling his story. Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro Poem Artist Joe Stephenson created Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro mural located on 2nd Street and Gold, Downtown Albuquerque, in August of 1994 to convey the lesson we are forever frozen in time without the knowledge of our past. Together we can achieve greatness in our future with the guidance of the past. It s a sad thing when a culture, or tradition is forgotten and lost in time. This mural is showing us how important it is to preserve New Mexican history, culture, and traditions for generations to come and the negative impact it can lead to if we fail to do so. Stephenson, Joe. Sin Un Pasado, No Hay Futuro. 1994, Downtown, Albuquerque The colors in this mural reflect many different emotions. They may be Stephenson s feelings towards the subject or our own. Beige neutral colors deliver a calm and relaxing feel. The red on the trains and the rooftop, give out an energetic, powerful impression. The vibrant color of turquoise symbolizes friendship and peace. The orange and yellow sunrise give out warmth and joy that spreads into a pink hue of harmony, symbolizing a bright new day, and a bright new future. • 21. Incorporating Conflict Management and Negotiation into the... Executive Summary This report was written for the University of the Sunshine Coast with a purpose to make recommendations for incorporating conflict management and negotiation into the field of information communication technology. The report clearly outlined two conflict management skills and one negotiation skill and briefly described and outlined the benefits and challenges. Conflict management is the process of limiting and controlling the negative conflict while increasing and controlling the positive conflict. Negotiation is described to be a discussion aimed at reaching an agreement. Positions versus interests are a mutually beneficial outcome where both parties underlying interests are satisfied with the integrative technique. The technique is beneficial as a resolution is quick to achieve. If both sides interest are the same object then it creates several challenges when incorporating this technique into the business. One of the most basic strategies of human interaction is that of tit for tat or equivalent retaliation. If you do that to me, then I will do that to you. A good deed can be returned if you perform a good deed to other company. However, a limitation is that this technique works best in a long term. Compromising is a widely used and an effective form of conflict management. Compromising works best when there is an item that can be evenly divided between the parties involved. Compromising involves splitting the desired item evenly between both sides. It ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 22. Adam And Eve Loss Of Knowledge Essay The tale of Adam and Eve, an infamous account in the book of Genesis, depicts man s original disobedience in eating of the Tree of Knowledge and serves as humankind s first archetype of the innate relationship between lost innocence and the attainment of knowledge. As portrayed in the story, God s severe punishment of Adam and Eve for consuming the forbidden fruit insinuates that it is wrong to desire knowledge, more specifically, the knowledge of humanity s potential for good and evil. The resultant loss of innocence from gaining this moral comprehension is all too frequently regarded as sinful, undesirable, and ultimately regrettable. The concept however, of pursuing a greater understanding of the natures of others and oneself is not fundamentally wrong as it expresses a kind of valuable moral growth. No longer are they solely accountable for their own person, but their actions must also reflect consideration for the well being of those around them as they now have the ability to reflect upon issues outside of themselves. This erasure of ignorance is of great importance as it now allows for the construction of moral dimension within mankind. The Phantom of the Opera also issued a similar type of casting method when naming Norm Lewis as the first black actor to play the Phantom. However, the idea of color blindness is not a problem on stage so much as it is off stage. The biggest problem that many black playwrights and directors face is not that their work is not being produced, but that the pieces written about black communities by white men are often racist. Because much of white privilege doesn t have any interaction with blackness they have a tendency to congregate around pathology, and only focusing on particular things in the urban environment high crime, single parenthood, things like that and then they sort of tag that as being the black experience (Nichloson). Properly representing a culture different than the playwright s or producer s without being racist is a very tedious and difficult task which is why it is very important to have diversity in a show s production team. Black people are needed on the creative team of a show about a black community in order to have a fuller perspective of what black is, what black story is, and what black voice is (Nichloson). He also used actual lines to portray the rows of manicured farmland. The first geometric shape I could make out is the triangle of the tiny easel in the middle ground. Light as a medium seems to me defined as actual light, which I do not believe is used in two dimensional works. I believe color, and in part lack of, is very important to this masterpiece. Cole colors the river valley light green and light brown to show vibrancy and cultivation of the cleared fields. He colors the forest dark green and eliminates colors in the shattered tree trunks and rugged cliffs to show the natural wonder of the untouched forest. These differences in color show how man is destroying the natural wilderness in favor of agricultural advancement. I believe Cole purposely avoided the appearance of unity in this painting. The separation between the two landscapes was not a peaceful transition. He wanted to show the diversity between the natural land from the cultivated land. I believe this painting is intentionally asymmetrical. Again, Cole wanted to show the non peaceful transition between the two landscapes. I ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The kind of patience you would have to have when you re staring at a screen for ages, trying to put a few thousand sentences together and have it all mean something. I would argue that those who enjoy writing are not doing it right, but I suppose we are all individuals with our own methods this is mine. First and foremost, before I begin a project, I take a minute to think about what I am writing about. This might seem pretty elementary, but when I say a minute, I m really talking about hours, even days if I can afford to. This sort of thinking can occur anywhere, but it usually happens right in front of my computer and as one would expect, it is absolutely exhausting. During this time, I might poke at my keyboard and attempt to put a few words together, but these early musings rarely make the final cut. Overall, The Beatles deviated from the one man band to become much more inspiring, collaborative, and goal oriented. This was a result of relying on one another, openness, and authenticity, which helped them to produce creative and ground breaking music. Some may say The Beatles were creative individuals and others may state that they were pure geniuses. Consequently, The Beatles simply practiced team innovation by using problem to solution and solution to problem methodology known as two way innovation. This means as a group, they observed the problem, then created a solution. For instance, The Beatles played in Liverpool for an hour session but needed to get better venues. They proactively cooperated to brainstorm, write, and produce songs, which brought the group to new creative heights. We got better and more confident. In Liverpool we only ever did one hour sessions and we only did our best numbers the same ones, over and over. In Hamburg we had to play for eight hours so, we really had to find a new way of playing (Tamer Kattan, Smarter Harder). The group also envisioned hypothetical solutions connected to worthy problems. Often one of the pair would add a middle eight or bridge section to the other s verse and chorus. Lennon called it Writing eyeball to eyeball and Playing into each other s ... • 40. Comparing The Cellular Morphology Of Table 2 Comparing the cellular morphology of table 2 to their respective pure culture in table 3. B. cereus presented with a white colony, round colony morphology, smooth margins and flat elevation in both pure culture and isolated culture; E. coli presented with a Yellow colony, round colony morphology, smooth margins, and flat elevation; S. aureus presented with a White colony; round colony morphology, smooth margins, and raised elevation. In comparison of the cellular morphology of each bacterium in the mixture (table 2) to their respective pure culture (table 3) showed that Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus are present in the mixed culture as their respective cellular morphology was the same as compared to the pure ... One example is the BactiStaph test for the Staphylococcus genus (in this case S. aureus) (Summers, Brookings and Waites, 1998). Which relies on the principle of detecting coagulase (clumping factor) using fibrinogen, and detecting protein A with immunoglobulin G. As result of these surface markers present on most strains of S. aureus will test positive for BactiStaph test (Summers, Brookings and Waites, 1998; Harris, Foster and Richards, 2002); Another test to differentiate E. coli and B. cereus from S. aureus is by the basis of motility. Using either MAST motility test or hanging drop method differentiate E. coli and B. cereus from S. aureus, as the two bacteria are motile (Mitchell and Kogure, 2006); Lastly, since neither E. coli nor S. aureus produce endospores, whilst B. cereus under the right conditions does produce endospores. By using techniques such as Dipicolinic acid assay or Schaeffer Fulton spore stain can be used to assess the presence of spores in B. cereus (Hindle Hall, 1999). Three plating methods can be used to produce well separated single colonies, streak plate procedure, spread plate and the pour plate procedure (Sanders, 2012). Spread plate procedure is used to separate microbes contained within a small sample volume (e.g. mixed broth culture) which is then spread over an agar ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Theme of Freedom in The Adventures of Huckleberry... Freedom is what defines an individual, it bestows upon someone the power to act, speak, or think without externally imposed restraints. Therefore, enslavement may be defined as anything that impedes one s ability to express their freedoms. However, complete uncompromised freedom is virtually impossible to achieve within a society due to the contrasting views of people. Within Mark Twain s 1885 novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, numerous controversies are prevalent throughout the novel, primarily over the issue of racism and the general topic of enslavement. The characters in The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn along with their development take an unmistakable, resilient stand against racism and by doing such in direct relation ... He like the majority of the Deep South s population was forced to submit to popular religion in the form of Christianity, being racist and not being able to criticize the institution of slavery, as well as acting like a proper boy and being civilized with manors, rules, and restrictions. However, he is the polar opposite of the ideals expressed by his society. Huck is forced to reside with Widow Douglas, he describes the experience in the first chapter, She took me... allowed she would sivilize me; but it was rough living in the house all the time ... I wanted to smoke, and asked the widow to let me. But she wouldn t. She said... I must try to not do it any more. (Twain, 2). In this particular environment, Huck is forcefully civilized by the Widow Douglas as well as Miss Watson. This essentially shows an indirect form of slavery in which Huck is forced to do as society and his elders dictate regardless of what he believes in which many of us are also subject to. This enslaves him and leads him to decide that he needs to relocate himself as far away from society as possible. Therefore, he forges his death and runs away meeting Jim on the way. This idea of Huck being controlled by society influences him through the novel, for instance he thinks about turning Jim in because it is wrong to steal since Jim is ... • 42. The Characteristics Of Leonardo Da Vinci s The Dwarf Leonardo da Vinci was a very intellectual man who had a sparking curiosity in the history about people and life. He contributed so much to the field of physiology. It is believed that almost all of his paintings are based on the anatomical structure behind it. Da Vinci was interested in studying the formation of living things. He is fascinated by the human anatomy. Leonardo learned anatomy initially from the old Greeks and Romans. Leonardo immersed himself in human post mortem examinations. He critically examined 30 human corpses at a time when nobody was performing these examinations. He went from fetuses to babyhood to old age. He wanted to recognize each part of the human body, including bones, muscles, ligaments, nerves, and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was so fascinated by what he doing...nothing else was seemed to exist for him except his nauseating occupation. His face was as delighted as though he were at a festival. This piece of evidence strongly supports my claim because it directly states the observation and description on Da Vinci s state of being and eludes the same information provided in different articles. Because Bernardo is a character in a novel, a more detailed and vivid image is imprinted in the brain of the reader (Lagerkvist 65, 36, 37, 39). Anatomy took a large part in the three years it took to create and perfect Mona Lisa s smile. Da Vinci spent hours in the morgue studying many cadavers and pulling off their skin to revel the muscles around the mouth. He was intrigued to know how a smile forms, but was more astonished and curious about the relationship between the brain and the nervous system. He experienced difficulties for the lips are small and the nerves go deep into the body. He kept a journal with sketches he made of his observations. One drawing included the dissection of two arms and hands; he then placed them next to different face profiles. He observed different kinds of facial expressions and developed how to create an angry facial expression. Make the nostrils drawn up, causing furrows in the side of the nose, and the lips arched to disclose the upper teeth, with the teeth parted in order to shriek lamentations. Mona Lisa appears ... Non competition/Classic Agreement The most common agreement is the non competition agreement. Non competition agreements will prohibit your employee from working for a competitor of your company. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Confidentiality Agreements During the initial hiring process, you should have your new employee sign a confidentiality agreement. While surprising to learn, a confidentiality agreement is different from noncompete agreements. A confidentiality agreement asks that the employee keeps all business related information confidential during and after employment. Not only will this agreement hold the employee liable if information is disclosed to competitors and third parties, but the confidentiality agreement also holds you liable in case information regarding your employee is ever disclosed. Are You Required? It is important to note that you are not required to ask potential employees to sign a noncompete agreement. However, investing the time and energy into drafting these agreements can protect your business reputation, name, and finances from serious devastation. When meeting with your attorney, be sure to understand your state s laws regarding employee rights and noncompetes. Also, if you plan to ask on employee to sign the agreement, you must ask all employees to agree to the noncompete. This reduces your risk of discrimination lawsuits, which can be physically, emotionally, and financially devastating to your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
