The Progressive Montessori School System
Perhaps it was an unintentional cruelty on the part of my parents to enroll me first in the progressive
Montessori school system that encouraged critical thinking and creativity, followed by an evening
catholic school program that required unquestioning obedience to a monolithic religious dogma. When
I began the sixth grade the window of an English professor and a family friend gave me access to his
extensive library and personal text notes because of my growing interest in literature. In the first few
months of my library visits, the Catholic program phoned my mother to discourage my further
attendance in both the church and the educational program. I had begun incessantly probing my young
Catechism instructor about the faith, and his unsatisfactory response had prompted my protests and
refusal to participate in any religious ceremonies or sacraments. I had discovered both the Antichrist
and Civil Disobedience during my forays into the library, and though I was unable to grasp the
intricacies of these texts, the basic messages resonated with my experiences of perceived oppression
and religious conditioning. The library was my Pandora s Box, and it allowed me to escape into places
and ideas far removed from what I thought to be a banal existence in a small historic village in the
Appalachian Mountains. My youthful rebellions, and inquisitiveness, though often misguided and
misplaced, were not to be tempered in my adult life. As a high school student I was emboldened by an

Artificial Grafts Research Paper
Abstract
Anterior cruciate ligament ruptures occur 100,000 to 200,000 annually in the United States. It is a key
knee stabilizer and is a recognized injury in both professional and recreational activities. It can tear
from a hard hit to the side, overextending the knee or quickly stopping while changing direction while
running, landing from a jump or turning. Attempts of ACL reconstruction using silver, stainless wires,
nylon, silk strings, and various synthetic fibers were first used in the beginning of the 20th century to
make artificial grafts; the first experiment failed within the first 3 months. Modern ACL reconstruction
surgeries use allografts, autografts, synthetic grafts or a combination to repair or replace ruptured

Summary Of John Adams Short Ride In A Fast Machine
John Adams is an American composer, best known for his operas, the symphonic fanfare Short Ride in
a Fast Machine, and the Pulitzer Prize winning work, On the Transmigration of Souls. He was born in
Massachusetts, graduated with a BA and a MA from Harvard, and taught at the San Francisco
Conservatory. In addition to directing the New Music Ensemble at the conservatory, he also worked in
the electronic music studio. His work has become quite popular, especially Short Ride in a Fast
Machine. His operas Nixon and China and Doctor Atomic are frequently performed nationally and
internationally.
His style is minimalist, but rather than born out of personal exploration, it occurs as a reaction to the
serialism that was prominent during Adams college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Recorded sounds and the names of the victims will reappear throughout the work.) The texts sung by
the chorus and children s chorus are drawn from the heartbreaking missing person notices that sprang
up around the World Trade Center site after the attacks. One of Adams s inspirations for this kind of
layering of various quotations is the early 20th century composer Charles Ives, and he makes this
especially clear by including a long reference to the trumpet solo from Ives s The Unanswered
Question. A long opening section ends with a sudden thinning of the texture, and the sounds of
digging. The music grows threatening and there is quick burst of anger from the orchestra, which just
as quickly subsides into a long choral passage. This reaches an emotional peak with the words I know
just where he is, followed by a ferocious orchestral interlude. The chorus responds with the words
light and love failing at first to stop the orchestra s fury, but the music eventually subsides, and the
work ends with long, quiet, and deeply touching epilogue. The last words we hear I love you. are the
best response of all to tragedy and

Terrorism And Terrorism Essay
Radicalization is a process of socialization to extremism. Radicalization processes is what lead to acts
of terrorism. It thrives in an enabling environment with a sediments of injustice, exclusion and
humiliation among the terrorists groups. Triggering factors varying in accordance to individual
experience and personal pathways to radicalization, it is due to global, sociological and political
drivers such as extreme marginalization, general decline or globalization. Hence, to analyze the
drivers of radicalization, we need to understand the collective grievances behind radicalism by making
comparisons of primary causes of radicalization which will ultimately lead to terrorism in different
terrorists groups like ISIS and LTTE, will allow us to decide if whether terrorism is primarily due to
globalization.
Terrorism is primarily due to globalization. Due to globalization, there was a widespread of
dissatisfaction, due to the very rapid changes in society, and the Western supremacy. Breeding grounds
for radicalism and terrorist recruitment emerge not because of deprivation, but rather the time at which
negative social, economic and political trends converge. Especially in the Arab world, relative
deprivation, the absence of opportunities relative to growing aspirations and expectations. Information
technology provides an interconnected nature of the world and globalization create an acute awareness

Obligations
Zachary Zeitzmann Professor Orsini ENC 1102 March 29, 2011 An Obligation Is Not A Choice What
defines an obligation? Is it defined as something that one has to do because it is necessary for their
living or is it something that one has to do because someone says they have to? I would define an
obligation as something that one has to do because it is necessary for their living. What I do not
understand is how one person can dodge their obligations. I see people choose to live a life where their
obligations are pushed aside as if they were choices. Obligations are not choices, but yet something
that needs to be taken care of. In many situations people tend to take care of their obligations because

Looking at Phoenix s actions I can see how she was able to understand the severity of this obligation
and the responsibility that was needed to make sure that it was her duty to make sure this obligation
was met. I notice how people do not understand that an obligation is not a choice. I see these people
choosing to party it up or live an extravagant life, while forgetting to provide a safe, living
environment, putting food on their table, or taking care of their loved ones. Providing a safe, living
environment allows one to feel safe from harm, putting food on one s table allows for them to
maintain life from death, and taking care of one s loved ones shows the responsibility needed
throughout life. Without these obligations being taken care of, how can one live life fully? Sure, it is
fun to go out and party and live an extravagant life, but what comes from that when one pushes their
obligations aside? Nothing really comes from pushing obligations aside except instant gratification. A
great example of being able to juggle both obligations and partying is shown in Theodore Roethke s
My Papa s Waltz. The poem explains how a young boy dances the waltz with his father before being
sent off to bed. The father comes home with whiskey in his breath so much that could make a small
boy dizzy (Roethke 647). Obviously with this statement, it shows that the father must have

How Do Chameleons Change Its Appearance
Chameleons can quickly change their appearance in response to temperature, environment, and mood.
Scientists recently identified a key factor in their ability to do this: The lizards can tune the distances
between nanoscale crystals in their skin that reflect light, creating a spectrum of colors. The cells that
form its skin play a significant roll in the color changes. This zoom represents 150 microns of a
chameleon skin, about twice the diameter of a human hair. When the light hits its skin, the cells act
depending on the mood of the chameleon. Crystals would be close together in a neutral state and
spread out when the chameleon gets excited. This crystals would reflect out to the epidermis the warm
light, changing the chameleons color

Flag Desecration Essay
The Flag is an honored and venerated symbol of a country. Epic wars were fought for this piece of
fabric, such as the American Civil War, or World War Two. However, some people disrespect this, and
Take it too far such as, physically destroying the flag, or desecrating the flag by burning it down into a
pulp. This is currently illegal in several major countries. I believe that desecration of the flag is not
permissible, and should stay illegal in the United States.
First of all, the flag, obviously stated in the first paragraph, is a venerated symbol of the country it
represents. Burning and desecrating the flag would signify disrespect. In the United States, the flag is
protected under the First Amendment, which stands and clearly says The Congress shall have power to
prohibit the physical desecration of the flag if you burn the flag, it is roughly the same thing as
burning down the White House intentionally. Next, debate.org claims that flag desecration is

invaluable for the country as means of expression. Debate.org claims that freedom of speech only goes
so far, and the flag, represents the countries ideals, such as life, liberty, and prosperity. Such examples
would be the Japanese Flag. Which, is by plain sight, a white flag with a red circle. If you see closer,
the red circle would stand for Rising Sun . Adequacy.org claims that there has always been bounds on
free speech. My personal claim would be that freedom of speech only goes oh so far, and the flag
represents it in all means. Burning the flag in peace would also mean that the one responsible for
desecrating and destroying the flag is inciting violence, because that person who is in charge of
desecrating the flag, is burning our symbol of peace and

Okonkwo s Obsession With His Father
Okonkwo is a character who has some positive traits but are greatly outweighed by his negative ones
including not being in control of his emotions and actions, constantly providing excuses for these
actions leaving him with no respect from me and an overall dislike. To start Okonkwo has an
obsession with his father. He was possessed by the fear of his father s contemptible life and shameful
life (Chapter 1) Unoka, his father was looked down upon by the village due to his laziness and
unsuccessfulness. In their village culture, Unoka could not have a proper burial due to his cause of
death and was shamed for it. However, this aside Unoka was incredibly caring, relaxed and was a very
good musician. Okonkwo who loathes his father, goes out of his way to avoid these traits. For
example he beats his wives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can be said that Okonkwo was doomed from the start seeing as his father did not provide for him,
leaving him to fend for himself early on but for me it is another sad excuse for his inexcusable actions.
Despite these very negative traits, Okonkwo does possesses some positive ones. For instance he is
very hardworking. This is shown throughout the book especially during harvest and planting seasons.
However Okonkwo s hard work does not make up for the fact that he is not in control of his
passionate hate for his father and fear of becoming like Unoka, allowing it overcome him causing him
to physically hurting people in his life. I have no respect for Okonkwo seeing as his actions due to his
fear and hate of his father paired with his excuses are not something that should ever be respected or
even tolerated leaving me to dislike him

Homelessness Is An Ever Growing Epidemic

March 17, 2016
Abstract
In the complex society of this day and age, homelessness is an ever growing epidemic; People can
become homeless for many reasons: losing a job, addiction to drugs and mental illness. People drive
or walk past a homeless person every day without thinking ever about the predicament of that
individual or they may even unintentionally turn their heads the other way in repulsion. Homelessness
can be defined as an individual or a family whose has a main nighttime dwelling that is a public or
private place not designed for or normally used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human
beings, including a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station, airport, or camping ground,
doorway or alley sidewalk. Any given night in Portland there can be upwards of 4000 people sleeping
on the streets in homeless camps, shelters, or under the bridges, this report looks at the direct
correlation between homelessness, the disease of drug addiction, and mental illness, And will try to
address ways to help decrease and prevent it from increasing.
Introduction/Background
Have you ever walked in Downtown Portland with sole intention of paying attention to the details of
your surroundings? A person would think that the first thing that they would notice is the beautiful
architecture of the buildings or maybe the many statues and fountains that line the

Every organisation has a reason or purpose to exist. Its purpose forms the basis for the organisation s

defines the unique purpose that sets one hotel or hotel company apart from others. It expresses the
underlying philosophy that gives meaning and direction to hotel policies. Hotel employees may derive
a sense of purpose from a well conceived mission statement. For example, a hotel s mission may be to

Although procedures may differ from hotel to hotel with regard to reservations handling, maintenance,
processing, and confirmation, the purpose is still the same: to accommodate guest requests in a
manner that maximises hotel occupancy and room revenue. Computers can be programmed to provide
reservations agents with information on the types of rooms available (including room rate, view,
furnishings, amenities, and bed size) for a given day. Some computer systems can even provide agents
with the exact room number if necessary. Computers can provide reservations agents with a great deal
of information on the hotel, some of which should be provided to the guest on request. Computers
have helped transform reservations agents into true salespeople. Reservations agents should convey
the desirability, features, and benefits of staying at the hotel, rather than simply processing an
accommodation request. It is no longer satisfactory for a reservations agent to defer to the front desk
to determine a room s rate at registration. Reservations agents should confirm the rate over the
telephone at the time the guest makes the reservation. In fact, most guests requesting a reservation will
not book a room without receiving a confirmed rate. The agent should reinforce the guest s decision to
stay at the property and thank the guest for his or her business. It is essential for reservations

The unknown substance, when placed in the Bunsen flame, turned the flame a deep red. Therefore, the
cation is Calcium4. Calcium burns red because as the substance is heated up, the electrons get excited.
As they fall back down to the normal state, they give off a wavelength. This can be perceived as a
color. The wavelength given off by burning Calcium corresponds to red wavelength in the visible light
spectrum6. This test had to be performed multiple times to confirm because the red flame is difficult
to see. Also, the nichrome wire was used many times before this experiment. There were other
substances still on it and in order to prevent the tests from being incorrect, they had to be burned off.
This is also what led to the test being run multiple times to be sure that the unknown substance was

The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution that occurred in the late Nineteenth Century brought many new jobs that
were drastically different to the jobs that previous Americans held. While agricultural jobs still existed
and were vitally important to the sustainability of the American economy, the new factory jobs that
opened up created many new work opportunities for Americans and immigrants who came from
Europe. However, the problem with all these new industrial jobs was that they had very poor working
conditions and the work hours were long and unfair. This along with the low wages made these jobs
undesirable. Despite this, immigrant workers continued to work under these conditions because they
had nowhere else to obtain work and quitting would make it almost impossible for them to find a job
somewhere else with better working conditions and wages. The result of the low wages meant that
many immigrants living on the East Coast of the United States lived below the poverty line. There was
a fundamental problem with the working and living conditions the immigrants were experiencing.
Two political organizations of this era sought to fix this problem with two contrasting methods. The
Progressive Reformers were a political organization that sought out to set permanent fixes to these
conditions and make it possible for the immigrants to be self sustaining. On the other hand, the
political machines, more specifically Tammany Hall of Manhattan, sought to make changes by
directly helping the

Power Tends To Corrupt And Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely
Outline the parts of the introduction to your paper, the main points, the evidence for those points, and
the conclusion of your paper. Introduction: As the saying goes, Power tends to corrupt, and absolute
power corrupts absolutely (Marton). A person may by guided by the noblest of ideals and have a cause
as pure as gold or as radiant as the sun, but the moment they have absolute power there cause will fall
apart and all will have been for not. In Animal Farm by George Orwell, he exemplifies this ideal as we
follow Napoleon and his rise to power, or rather his fall from grace towards complete degradation.
Over the progression of the novel Napoleon tries to actualize the dream of the other farm animals as
he works towards the dream of reaping what one sows . In the process, he is put into a leadership
position where he shows, the corrosive effect that power has his morals as the story progresses
displaying how power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Main Points: The story begins
with Old Major, who is a respected on the farm, and who had given a speech that stirred the animals
emotions towards the idea of rebellion. He used his power of respect and trust to persuade the others
to pursue the vision in his dream by stating, Nearly the whole of the production of our labor is stolen
from us by human beings. There, comrades is the answer to our problems. It is summed up in a single
word Man (Orwell 5).This dream of reaping what one sows made the animals on the

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Parkinson s Disease Essay

Fall 2016
Parkinson s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor symptoms or tremors,
rigidity, (bradykinesia) or slowness of movement and posture instability. Parkinson s involves the
malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain. This disease primarily affects neurons in area of
the brain called substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine a chemical that
sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. The symptoms of
Parkinson s disease usually begin on one side of the body and within time spread to both sides of the
body. The primary process that causes Parkinson s disease signs and symptoms is when dopamine
producing nerve cells in the brain die prematurely. Dopamine is one of the main neurotransmitters in
the brain. In a healthy brain, ample dopamine is produced so that the brain cells can coordinate smooth
and precise muscle movements. However, when dopamine cells are lost, brain cells communicate
abnormally with muscles, which can lead to impaired body movement. (Null, 2013, pp. 153 176)
When Parkinson s disease progresses there is a gradual loss of many functions that depend on muscle
control such as the ability to write legibly, or speak

Gay Marriage And Gay Rights
Kaetlyn Hendrix

Gay Marriage and Gay Rights For years there has been a debate on gay marriage and gay rights in
America. Often government keeps pushing the issue back, or refuses to partake in the debates and
discussions on whether or not this type of union is legal in the United States. My hope with this paper
is to prove that gay marriage is not in fact unconstitutional, but that there is a right to freedom for
everyone, no exclusions. When it comes to gay marriage, there seem to be a number of contributing
factors that weigh in on the decisions made on the acceptance of gay marriage, most of which seem to
be religious, but can also be very heavily weighed on political views. Though religion and politics
should not intermingle and be the determining factor on whether or not people should have the right lo
to love and marry whomever they see fit, they do play a major role on the gay community, and their
own life decisions. Of course there all sorts of different theories on what could happen if the United
States government allows for the gay community to marry people of the same sex, including
accusations of beastiality and incest, there is no actual connection to these theories, only causing a
panic in our society, and allowing fear of what may be make the decision for these people s lives. My
goal today is to touch on some of these political issues with the gay marriage issue, and the onset of an
epidemic that may occur if they do allow

Agamemnan, The Inferno, Don Quixote Essay
Agamemnon, The Inferno, and Don Quixote may seem to be vastly different stories written across
centuries of time and within incongruous cultures but the three tales share related themes. * Set among
the ruling family of Argos, Aeschylus s Agamemnon examines the topic of justice: ancient eye for an
eye progressing toward modern disinterested justice, attributing all to the gods. Similarly, in Dante
Alighieri s Inferno each sinner is placed in a punishment to fit his crime: divine perfection of justice. *
Miguel de Cervantes approaches the other side of justice, Don Quixote questions what happens when
an antiquated or fictional moral code is put into play in a different time or place. * What is Justice?
Aeschylus suspends justice somewhere ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

[Zeus] lays it down as law that we must suffer, suffer into truth. According to them, Justice is not
meted out by man s will alone, but as a cog in the machine of the gods; a means to a divine end. *
In the following plays, the wheel comes full circle as Agamemnon s son comes home to avenge his
death, by killing his mother Clytemnestra. Under the system in which they have labored to this point,
her death should beget the death of her son and so one SP. However, having been killed by her son, in
retribution for killing her husband, Clytemnestra s death cannot be avenged. There is no one left to
claim that responsibility. Aeschylus s gods step in and create a newer, better system of justice to put an
end to the vicious cycle. Justice is an imperfect proposition until a higher power steps in and sets it
right. Aeschylus uses several literary devices to portray the imperfection of the old system.
Throughout the play, in many lines Aeschylus makes use of parallel structures. This device is melodic
but also symbolic of the two separate systems of Justice. Looking at the flaws of the ancient system,
the chorus says Each charge meets counter charge, and The plunderer

Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions
Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live, can
be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research. The
process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that either
refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching. While that
which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an assumption.
Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make inferences based
from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to critical thinking or
reason. Furthermore, out of naiveté we seek to refute conclusions to that which we do not want to
belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to what we desire; for in such
manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we hastily accept an assumption
that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little mind to the validity of the
assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward improper inquiry. This is human
nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the catalyst to our own servility by
standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and research. Humans can be placed in any
situation and we will start to give it some kind of meaning in hopes to gain a basis for

What Is Nietzsche s Response To Modernism
In 1882, German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche declared, God is dead! God remains dead! And we
have killed him (120). Modern thought and its scientific basis rejected the existence or need of any
God, religion, or their accompanying belief in absolute, objective morality. This rejection of the divine
preoccupies a greater segment of the population after Nietzsche s death as humanity seeks redemption
from the atrocities of two world wars. However, rejection of God and religion removes the healing
potential of faith, resulting in a modern society yearning for meaning among the ashes of Europe s
dead. No answer presents itself easily, but one of modernism s philosophical responses reveals itself in
the devastation. As Wylie Sypher surmised, we have lived amid the dust and crashes of the twentieth
century and have learned how the direst calamities that befall man seem to prove that human life at ...

Why Terrorist Groups Use Cbrre Weapons
The question on whether or not terrorist groups are likely to use CBRN weapons in the United States
or anywhere else in the world remains an unconfirmed debate of opinions. Sinai s (2007) article
,explaining certain characteristics about the terrorists threat, states that illicit supply networks exists in
countries that promote proliferation of these types of weapons and reported the occurrence where
Usama Bin Laden tried to acquire a cylinder of weapons grade uranium (Sinai 2007, para 24). This
inherently proves that groups such as al Qaeda possess at least the interest of acquiring these weapons
but still remains unconfirmed about whether they intend to use them. This is also a statement that
suggests that certain nations have more lenient or even complacent policies towards controlling these
types of weapons.
Mauroni s (2010) states in it that insurgents seek to use easily acquired, low risk weapon systems,
something that he claims is not suited for CBRN weapons. He claims that the reason why they are so
interested in these types of weapons is that senior leaders across the globe are constantly going on

Sam Esmail s Mr. Robot
Mr. Robot is a television show created by Sam Esmail that originally released in June of 2015. It is by
far one of the most thrilling and entertaining shows whose primary subject is hacking and
cybersecurity. Every actor in the show lends a tremendous amount of talent, but the one who I believe
defines the show is its star, Rami Malek. Rami is capable of delivering a performance that gets
viewers hooked immediately. The audience is able to understand everything that motivate Rami s
character, Elliot, just from the pilot episode. The episode I am choosing to focus on is season 1

Rhetorical Analysis Of On Dumpster Diving
Dumpster Diving: Beneficial Yet Detrimental When people think about dumpsters, a disgusted image
of wretched odors, tornadoes of flies, and spilled sour liquids comes to their minds. In addition, they
stay away from dumpsters, fearing they would catch some type of illness. Yet, people don t know that
dumpsters has all types of treasures. Because of people s wasteful habits, a wide variety of items end
up in the dumpsters; some are incredibly useful and even in good condition. In his article, On
Dumpster Diving, formerly homeless author Lars Eighner describes how he became dependent on
dumpster diving for survival. Eighner includes a definition of dumpster diving, utilizes irony, and
makes a comparison between dumpster divers and can scroungers to show that even though dumpster
diving is beneficial to a homeless man like himself, society needs to be aware of their wasteful habits.
At the beginning of his article, Eighner redefines dumpster diving to change people s negative views
on the term. Traditionally dumpster diving is known as looking for treasure in someone else s trash.

Virginia Shea s The Core Rules Of Netiquette
The most salient aspect of Virginia Shea s The Core Rules of Netiquette is empathy. We often dismiss
the notion that there are real people behind their computers, whether inadvertently or not. By

Why Sherman Burned Georgia To The Ground
The North takes a lead with Sherman behind it all. On February 17, 1865 Sherman captures South
Carolina leading him up to burn Georgia to the ground. From Atlanta to Savannah, Sherman covers
450 miles in 50 days leaving a 40 by 50 mile wide path of destruction. Some people refer to it as
Sherman s March To The Sea . William Sherman becomes the terror of the South as he burns
everything in his path. William Sherman believed that capturing Georgia would be effective and
psychological as fighting. Sherman then has his troops circle Atlanta in July, forcing Hood to abandon
Georgia on September 1, 1864. He captures Georgia the next day which was a major part of Sherman
s March Towards Sea because Atlanta had railroads and was the industrial center of Georgia. Another
reason Sherman burned Georgia to the ground is because Atlanta had warehouses that stored most of

Sports Athletes Should Not Be Better Than Their Opponent
Introduction In the world of sports, competitive athletes are willing to do whatever is necessary to be
better than their opponent. The nature of the competitive drive in some athletes is precisely what
separates the average from the elite. Compared to their novice counterparts, elite athletes usually have
a more extensive knowledge base of sport specific information and are more adept at using said
knowledge efficiently to identify, remember and manipulate relevant information in their specialist
sport (Swann, Moran, Piggott, 2015). In order to achieve max performance, an elite athlete must be
skilled in their craft, meaning they are able to produce the skills needed reliably, on demand, and with
very little luck. Demonstrating their skill ability by maximizing the certainty of the intended goal
achievement, minimizing their energy expenditure (physically and mentally), and minimizing the time
used (Schmidt Lee, 2015). An athletes cognitive performance will ultimately reflect in their physical
capabilities. In today s society, elite athletes and their followers are consumed with idea of being even
bigger, even faster, and even stronger than ever before. To keep up with the demands elite athletes face
its critical to develop new training methods, allowing athletes to set and surpass new standards of
success. The intense demands required of elite level athletes to excel in their field makes it
increasingly difficult to find alternative training methods to provide a

When visiting the McKissick Museum I was engrossed by the American Folk Art, ceramic Face Jugs,
also known as ugly or grotesque jugs. There are gaps in the history in regards to how the face jugs
were made, what they were used for, and the meaning of the face vessel pottery. However it is
believed that these vessels were original, useful, creative expressions of the African slave culture of
the time created as early as the seventeenth century. Few artists of face jugs have been identified and
their inspirations for producing the vessels are not completely known. According to Hirst, it is
believed that this art form originated in Edgefield County South Carolina, from African slaves who

Face Jugs have become more imaginative and peculiar as they became marketable. Today, either you

which make them extremely interesting to me. Because South Carolina is a big tourists attraction face
jugs have attracted the attention of tourists. Replications of face jugs are made for tourists. They are
not used as much for functional use today, as they are more of a decorative or aesthetic art form. The
jugs come in all shapes and sizes with a variety of facial features and expressions. Many of the faces
that I like have a symmetrical balance which, throughout this course, has caught my attention. The
glaze used makes the face jugs shiny and smooth. Ceramic Face Jugs are different, unique,
mysterious, and good conversational pieces.
In summation, face jugs are representations of folk art by African American slaves. There is a lot that
we do not know and will never know about the history of face jugs but they are interesting pieces of

The students watched this video, then discussed what they thought were the important take aways. The
main points the teachers seemed to want the students to take away from that video is what causes earth
quakes, what are the strongest type of earthquake, and how do we measure earthquakes. The second
video the class watched, showed video footage of the aftermath of some earthquakes that have
happened in history. The video showed destruction of buildings, and how earthquakes can cause
tsunamis and the destruction that tsunamis also cause. The point of this video was to show the students
how important the engineering of building is, and got them to start thinking about their own bridges
and how they can withstand an earthquake. We did not directly discuss bridges this week though, our
focus was primarily on earthquakes.
When we broke up into our teams, my team was trying to answer two specific questions; what are the
effects of an earthquake? And can we build earthquake proof buildings. I worked with two boys in the
class, Kendall and Sean to help answer these questions. To answer these questions each of the students
had a laptop and used Google Classroom to access links to websites the teachers provided to answer
these questions. We discussed what the effects of an earthquake are, this included destruction of

Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, The Wife of Bath s Prologue and Tale present dynamic views of the
art of love in medieval times. In Sir Gawain, the love between Sir Gawain and Lady Bertilak at first
appears to be genuine; however, we learn that both characters were using each other guided by ulterior
motives. Lady Bertilak jabs at Gawain s masculinity in order to achieve her goal. The Wife of Bath s
Prologue questions the meaning of love while the narrator discusses her own experience to portray the
relationship between husband and wife. She also displays different views of the art of love that
contrast with each other; the Tale as well poses the question of whether love or marriage between two
people can ever be equal.
In the poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the encounters between Sir Gawain and Lady Bertilak
depict ways in which the art of love can involve trickery. In Sir Gawain s initial interaction with Lady
Bertilak and the old lady, who is later exposed as Morgan le Faye, he greets them with respect, [he]
quickly offers to serve them unswervingly should they say the word. (SG, ls. 975 76). Here he shows
his troth, or loyalty to the women to uphold his chivalric values, establishing a hierarchy of power.
Lady Bertilak and Morgan le Faye, at the top of the hierarchy, want to exploit Sir Gawain in order to
carry out their master plan of humiliating him and the Arthurian court. When the Lady enters Sir

Throughout The Past Century, China Has Powered Through
Throughout the past century, China has powered through the obstacles of famine, unrest, economic
dislocation, and enormous construction costs to continue its rapid development. Now a preeminent
world power, China faces yet another development challenge: climate change. Current and past trends
suggest that China will treat this problem as it has the other issues, ignoring damage to public welfare
while maintaining an obsessive fixation on projecting an image of modernity. The one potential saving
grace would be a shift in global attitudes about modernity; if the world begins to consider
environmentally sustainable development as a necessary condition to modernity, China will have to

Compared to the death of 200 million during the Great Leap Forward, the visible climate issues like
flooding and air pollution feel tolerable. As Chinese industry develops, cities are growing with barely
a pause to consider their toll on the environment, much less the future impact of global warming. The
lack of concern for visible, short term issues spells doubt on China s ability to handle longer term
climate issues like rising sea levels.
Nowhere is the lack of concern for short term issues more pronounced than in the Pearl River Delta,
where the growing metropolises of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan lie. The rising South China
Sea and the overstressed Pearl River network neighboring the cities lie just a meter or so below much
of the region s industrial center. Despite the extreme danger posed by the rising waters (tens of
thousands of citizens lost their homes during flooding in Guangzhou), the Chinese government has
continued development and remained mum on the issues. The authorities would rather show off the
region s shiny new office towers and airports than fix costly sewers that could help with flooding.
According to some in the city, people here still focus on the economic side of things, similarly
ignoring climatic dangers. Just like in the previous century, wilful ignorance of consequences during
the pursuit of modernization pervades Chinese society: This became our idea of progress, said one
citizen we thought

What Is The Moral Of The Play Julius Caesar
As the United States of America races towards the election of their forty fifth president it is not
unusual to hear rumors of government conspiracy. In a literary classic play written by William
Shakespeare, Julius Caesar reveals some insights to political strategies used still today like labeling
frenemies, promises, and persuading. The main character Julius Caesar said, If you must break the
law, do it to seize power: In all other cases observe it. This poses the question, what political truths can
be learned from the play? Keeping your friends close, and your enemies closer is nowhere more
evident than in Julius Caesar. Brutus was considered a friend to Caesar. President Obama picked

Every president before has promised something to the citizens. Only this time Mrs. Clinton has
promised to make the economy work for the common Americans and not just the higher class. While
Mr. Trump has promised to make America great again. Shakespeare s second political lesson is that
promises gain popularity. When speaking at Caesar s funeral Marc Antony uses money to get the
audience to beg him to read them Caesar s will. He points to the fact that Caesar s will gives his
money to the people of Rome as proof that Caesar was not ambitious. Here is the will, and under
Caesar s seal. To every Roman citizen he gives, To every several man, seventy five drachmas. By the
time Anthony reads them the will money is almost no longer necessary. Just like after a runner
receives your vote they re bond to forget all the promises made. When trying to make a political point
start from common ground with those whom you are trying to influence. This is the third and final
lesson. Know your audience and speak to them in a way they can understand. People think that unlike
all other politicians Donald Trump is speaking straightforwardly instead of sugar coating. Anthony
knew that Caesar was ambitious and even though it was a fault he was still a honorable man. So Marc
Antony s speech starts directed to the crowd that is against him. Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend

Summary Of The Epic Of Gilgamesh And The 12 Labors Of...
The Epic of Gilgamesh and the 12 Labors of Herakles are hero myths that have obvious and hidden
similarities and differences. These similarities and differences including the way that each hero is
portrayed, the reason for their respective journeys in the myths, how supernatural figures effect their
story and trials, the use of geography by the story in society at that time, and how each hero ends their
hero s journey. Each hero goes through many battles and the myths do not follow a single hero s
journey, but a multitude of adventures to aid the heroes in their growth. The 12 Labors of Herakles are
a collection of tasks and adventures Herakles must go through in order to repent for the death of his
family. The Epic of Gilgamesh is the story of the king Gilgamesh and his adventures with his best
friend, Enkidu, and his journey to try and find a way to become immortal.
This version of the 12 Labors of Herakles was written down around the 1st to the 2nd century CE by
Pseudo Apollodorus. The myth of Herakles is originally a Greek myth that would have been orally
performed before being written down in many different languages throughout its long history.
Herakles within the myth is a Demi God that was the illegitimate child of the chief Greek god Zeus
and Alkmene. This mortal half allows for the hero to me relatable to the common person, while the
divine half gives the hero his mythical status.

  • 2. The Progressive Montessori School System Perhaps it was an unintentional cruelty on the part of my parents to enroll me first in the progressive Montessori school system that encouraged critical thinking and creativity, followed by an evening catholic school program that required unquestioning obedience to a monolithic religious dogma. When I began the sixth grade the window of an English professor and a family friend gave me access to his extensive library and personal text notes because of my growing interest in literature. In the first few months of my library visits, the Catholic program phoned my mother to discourage my further attendance in both the church and the educational program. I had begun incessantly probing my young Catechism instructor about the faith, and his unsatisfactory response had prompted my protests and refusal to participate in any religious ceremonies or sacraments. I had discovered both the Antichrist and Civil Disobedience during my forays into the library, and though I was unable to grasp the intricacies of these texts, the basic messages resonated with my experiences of perceived oppression and religious conditioning. The library was my Pandora s Box, and it allowed me to escape into places and ideas far removed from what I thought to be a banal existence in a small historic village in the Appalachian Mountains. My youthful rebellions, and inquisitiveness, though often misguided and misplaced, were not to be tempered in my adult life. As a high school student I was emboldened by an ... • 3. Artificial Grafts Research Paper Abstract Anterior cruciate ligament ruptures occur 100,000 to 200,000 annually in the United States. It is a key knee stabilizer and is a recognized injury in both professional and recreational activities. It can tear from a hard hit to the side, overextending the knee or quickly stopping while changing direction while running, landing from a jump or turning. Attempts of ACL reconstruction using silver, stainless wires, nylon, silk strings, and various synthetic fibers were first used in the beginning of the 20th century to make artificial grafts; the first experiment failed within the first 3 months. Modern ACL reconstruction surgeries use allografts, autografts, synthetic grafts or a combination to repair or replace ruptured ACLs. Autografts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Kennedy in 1975. It was fabricated from an 8 mm diameter ribbon of woven polypropylene and had a UTS of 1,730 N and stiffness of 56 N/mm [15]. It was implanted in knee ligament surgeries as a prosthesis with an autograft for ACL reconstruction or post ACL primary repair and its main design objective was to protect the ACL or autograft while healing. Although its UTS is much lower, it is supposed to help with load transfers during healing and to protect the implant during collagen maturation. This composite structure is one where its synthetic component helps carry the loads while it transfers those loads to new healing ligaments. Overall it protects the transplant from being experiencing overbearing loads. The texts sung by the chorus and children s chorus are drawn from the heartbreaking missing person notices that sprang up around the World Trade Center site after the attacks. One of Adams s inspirations for this kind of layering of various quotations is the early 20th century composer Charles Ives, and he makes this especially clear by including a long reference to the trumpet solo from Ives s The Unanswered Question. A long opening section ends with a sudden thinning of the texture, and the sounds of digging. The music grows threatening and there is quick burst of anger from the orchestra, which just as quickly subsides into a long choral passage. • 7. Obligations Zachary Zeitzmann Professor Orsini ENC 1102 March 29, 2011 An Obligation Is Not A Choice What defines an obligation? Is it defined as something that one has to do because it is necessary for their living or is it something that one has to do because someone says they have to? I would define an obligation as something that one has to do because it is necessary for their living. What I do not understand is how one person can dodge their obligations. I see people choose to live a life where their obligations are pushed aside as if they were choices. Obligations are not choices, but yet something that needs to be taken care of. Looking at Phoenix s actions I can see how she was able to understand the severity of this obligation and the responsibility that was needed to make sure that it was her duty to make sure this obligation was met. I notice how people do not understand that an obligation is not a choice. I see these people choosing to party it up or live an extravagant life, while forgetting to provide a safe, living environment, putting food on their table, or taking care of their loved ones. Providing a safe, living environment allows one to feel safe from harm, putting food on one s table allows for them to maintain life from death, and taking care of one s loved ones shows the responsibility needed throughout life. Without these obligations being taken care of, how can one live life fully? Sure, it is fun to go out and party and live an extravagant life, but what comes from that when one pushes their obligations aside? Nothing really comes from pushing obligations aside except instant gratification. A great example of being able to juggle both obligations and partying is shown in Theodore Roethke s My Papa s Waltz. The poem explains how a young boy dances the waltz with his father before being sent off to bed. The father comes home with whiskey in his breath so much that could make a small boy dizzy (Roethke 647). Obviously with this statement, it shows that the father must have ... Scientists recently identified a key factor in their ability to do this: The lizards can tune the distances between nanoscale crystals in their skin that reflect light, creating a spectrum of colors. The cells that form its skin play a significant roll in the color changes. This zoom represents 150 microns of a chameleon skin, about twice the diameter of a human hair. However, some people disrespect this, and Take it too far such as, physically destroying the flag, or desecrating the flag by burning it down into a pulp. This is currently illegal in several major countries. I believe that desecration of the flag is not permissible, and should stay illegal in the United States. First of all, the flag, obviously stated in the first paragraph, is a venerated symbol of the country it represents. Burning and desecrating the flag would signify disrespect. Homelessness Is An Ever Growing Epidemic Clifford Richardson Student at Marylhurst University Prepared for Professor Scott Stringer March 17, 2016 Abstract In the complex society of this day and age, homelessness is an ever growing epidemic; People can become homeless for many reasons: losing a job, addiction to drugs and mental illness. People drive or walk past a homeless person every day without thinking ever about the predicament of that individual or they may even unintentionally turn their heads the other way in repulsion. Homelessness can be defined as an individual or a family whose has a main nighttime dwelling that is a public or private place not designed for or normally used as a regular sleeping accommodation for human beings, including a car, park, abandoned building, bus or train station, airport, or camping ground, doorway or alley sidewalk. Any given night in Portland there can be upwards of 4000 people sleeping on the streets in homeless camps, shelters, or under the bridges, this report looks at the direct correlation between homelessness, the disease of drug addiction, and mental illness, And will try to address ways to help decrease and prevent it from increasing. • 15. The Industrial Revolution The Industrial Revolution that occurred in the late Nineteenth Century brought many new jobs that were drastically different to the jobs that previous Americans held. While agricultural jobs still existed and were vitally important to the sustainability of the American economy, the new factory jobs that opened up created many new work opportunities for Americans and immigrants who came from Europe. However, the problem with all these new industrial jobs was that they had very poor working conditions and the work hours were long and unfair. This along with the low wages made these jobs undesirable. Despite this, immigrant workers continued to work under these conditions because they had nowhere else to obtain work and quitting would make it almost impossible for them to find a job somewhere else with better working conditions and wages. The result of the low wages meant that many immigrants living on the East Coast of the United States lived below the poverty line. There was a fundamental problem with the working and living conditions the immigrants were experiencing. Two political organizations of this era sought to fix this problem with two contrasting methods. The Progressive Reformers were a political organization that sought out to set permanent fixes to these conditions and make it possible for the immigrants to be self sustaining. Power Tends To Corrupt And Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely Outline the parts of the introduction to your paper, the main points, the evidence for those points, and the conclusion of your paper. Introduction: As the saying goes, Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely (Marton). A person may by guided by the noblest of ideals and have a cause as pure as gold or as radiant as the sun, but the moment they have absolute power there cause will fall apart and all will have been for not. In Animal Farm by George Orwell, he exemplifies this ideal as we follow Napoleon and his rise to power, or rather his fall from grace towards complete degradation. Over the progression of the novel Napoleon tries to actualize the dream of the other farm animals as he works towards the dream of reaping what one sows . In the process, he is put into a leadership position where he shows, the corrosive effect that power has his morals as the story progresses displaying how power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Main Points: The story begins with Old Major, who is a respected on the farm, and who had given a speech that stirred the animals emotions towards the idea of rebellion. He used his power of respect and trust to persuade the others to pursue the vision in his dream by stating, Nearly the whole of the production of our labor is stolen from us by human beings. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Parkinson s Disease Essay Parkinson Disease by Melissa Green Topical Bibliography In partial fulfillment of the writing requirement for Anatomy and Physiology 304 and the Department of Speech Language Pathology SUNY Buffalo State Fall 2016 Parkinson s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor symptoms or tremors, rigidity, (bradykinesia) or slowness of movement and posture instability. Parkinson s involves the malfunction and death of vital nerve cells in the brain. This disease primarily affects neurons in area of the brain called substantia nigra. Some of these dying neurons produce dopamine a chemical that sends messages to the part of the brain that controls movement and coordination. The symptoms of Parkinson s disease usually begin on one side of the body and within time spread to both sides of the body. The primary process that causes Parkinson s disease signs and symptoms is when dopamine producing nerve cells in the brain die prematurely. Dopamine is one of the main neurotransmitters in the brain. In a healthy brain, ample dopamine is produced so that the brain cells can coordinate smooth and precise muscle movements. However, when dopamine cells are lost, brain cells communicate abnormally with muscles, which can lead to impaired body movement. Often government keeps pushing the issue back, or refuses to partake in the debates and discussions on whether or not this type of union is legal in the United States. My hope with this paper is to prove that gay marriage is not in fact unconstitutional, but that there is a right to freedom for everyone, no exclusions. When it comes to gay marriage, there seem to be a number of contributing factors that weigh in on the decisions made on the acceptance of gay marriage, most of which seem to be religious, but can also be very heavily weighed on political views. Though religion and politics should not intermingle and be the determining factor on whether or not people should have the right lo to love and marry whomever they see fit, they do play a major role on the gay community, and their own life decisions. Of course there all sorts of different theories on what could happen if the United States government allows for the gay community to marry people of the same sex, including accusations of beastiality and incest, there is no actual connection to these theories, only causing a panic in our society, and allowing fear of what may be make the decision for these people s lives. Similarly, in Dante Alighieri s Inferno each sinner is placed in a punishment to fit his crime: divine perfection of justice. * Miguel de Cervantes approaches the other side of justice, Don Quixote questions what happens when an antiquated or fictional moral code is put into play in a different time or place. * What is Justice? Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live, can be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research. The process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that either refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching. While that which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an assumption. Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make inferences based from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to critical thinking or reason. Furthermore, out of naiveté we seek to refute conclusions to that which we do not want to belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to what we desire; for in such manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we hastily accept an assumption that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little mind to the validity of the assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward improper inquiry. This is human nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the catalyst to our own servility by standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and research. This rejection of the divine preoccupies a greater segment of the population after Nietzsche s death as humanity seeks redemption from the atrocities of two world wars. However, rejection of God and religion removes the healing potential of faith, resulting in a modern society yearning for meaning among the ashes of Europe s dead. • 29. Sports Athletes Should Not Be Better Than Their Opponent Introduction In the world of sports, competitive athletes are willing to do whatever is necessary to be better than their opponent. The nature of the competitive drive in some athletes is precisely what separates the average from the elite. Compared to their novice counterparts, elite athletes usually have a more extensive knowledge base of sport specific information and are more adept at using said knowledge efficiently to identify, remember and manipulate relevant information in their specialist sport (Swann, Moran, Piggott, 2015). In order to achieve max performance, an elite athlete must be skilled in their craft, meaning they are able to produce the skills needed reliably, on demand, and with very little luck. Demonstrating their skill ability by maximizing the certainty of the intended goal achievement, minimizing their energy expenditure (physically and mentally), and minimizing the time used (Schmidt Lee, 2015). An athletes cognitive performance will ultimately reflect in their physical capabilities. In today s society, elite athletes and their followers are consumed with idea of being even bigger, even faster, and even stronger than ever before. To keep up with the demands elite athletes face its critical to develop new training methods, allowing athletes to set and surpass new standards of success. When visiting the McKissick Museum I was engrossed by the American Folk Art, ceramic Face Jugs, also known as ugly or grotesque jugs. There are gaps in the history in regards to how the face jugs were made, what they were used for, and the meaning of the face vessel pottery. However it is believed that these vessels were original, useful, creative expressions of the African slave culture of the time created as early as the seventeenth century. Few artists of face jugs have been identified and their inspirations for producing the vessels are not completely known. According to Hirst, it is believed that this art form originated in Edgefield County South Carolina, from African slaves who worked on the plantations as potters. They worked on ... This project takes place at Taft Elementary School, which is a public school in the Boise School District. Unfortunately, with the session on Thursday the 5th being moved up to Monday the 2nd, I was unable to attend that week. But I was able to attend the last session, and enjoyed catching up with the students and teachers involved with this project. The main points the teachers seemed to want the students to take away from that video is what causes earth quakes, what are the strongest type of earthquake, and how do we measure earthquakes. The second video the class watched, showed video footage of the aftermath of some earthquakes that have happened in history. The video showed destruction of buildings, and how earthquakes can cause tsunamis and the destruction that tsunamis also cause. The point of this video was to show the students how important the engineering of building is, and got them to start thinking about their own bridges and how they can withstand an earthquake. We did not directly discuss bridges this week though, our focus was primarily on earthquakes. When we broke up into our teams, my team was trying to answer two specific questions; what are the effects of an earthquake? And can we build earthquake proof buildings. I worked with two boys in the class, Kendall and Sean to help answer these questions. To answer these questions each of the students had a laptop and used Google Classroom to access links to websites the teachers provided to answer these questions. We discussed what the effects of an earthquake are, this included destruction of buildings, fatalities, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Sir Gawain And The Green Knight Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, The Wife of Bath s Prologue and Tale present dynamic views of the art of love in medieval times. In Sir Gawain, the love between Sir Gawain and Lady Bertilak at first appears to be genuine; however, we learn that both characters were using each other guided by ulterior motives. Lady Bertilak jabs at Gawain s masculinity in order to achieve her goal. The Wife of Bath s Prologue questions the meaning of love while the narrator discusses her own experience to portray the relationship between husband and wife. She also displays different views of the art of love that contrast with each other; the Tale as well poses the question of whether love or marriage between two people can ever be equal. In the poem, Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the encounters between Sir Gawain and Lady Bertilak depict ways in which the art of love can involve trickery. In Sir Gawain s initial interaction with Lady Bertilak and the old lady, who is later exposed as Morgan le Faye, he greets them with respect, [he] quickly offers to serve them unswervingly should they say the word. Throughout The Past Century, China Has Powered Through Throughout the past century, China has powered through the obstacles of famine, unrest, economic dislocation, and enormous construction costs to continue its rapid development. Now a preeminent world power, China faces yet another development challenge: climate change. Current and past trends suggest that China will treat this problem as it has the other issues, ignoring damage to public welfare while maintaining an obsessive fixation on projecting an image of modernity. The one potential saving grace would be a shift in global attitudes about modernity; if the world begins to consider environmentally sustainable development as a necessary condition to modernity, China will have to consider environmental concerns in order to maintain its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compared to the death of 200 million during the Great Leap Forward, the visible climate issues like flooding and air pollution feel tolerable. As Chinese industry develops, cities are growing with barely a pause to consider their toll on the environment, much less the future impact of global warming. The lack of concern for visible, short term issues spells doubt on China s ability to handle longer term climate issues like rising sea levels. Nowhere is the lack of concern for short term issues more pronounced than in the Pearl River Delta, where the growing metropolises of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Dongguan lie. The rising South China Sea and the overstressed Pearl River network neighboring the cities lie just a meter or so below much of the region s industrial center. Despite the extreme danger posed by the rising waters (tens of thousands of citizens lost their homes during flooding in Guangzhou), the Chinese government has continued development and remained mum on the issues. The authorities would rather show off the region s shiny new office towers and airports than fix costly sewers that could help with flooding. According to some in the city, people here still focus on the economic side of things, similarly ignoring climatic dangers. What Is The Moral Of The Play Julius Caesar As the United States of America races towards the election of their forty fifth president it is not unusual to hear rumors of government conspiracy. In a literary classic play written by William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar reveals some insights to political strategies used still today like labeling frenemies, promises, and persuading. The main character Julius Caesar said, If you must break the law, do it to seize power: In all other cases observe it. This poses the question, what political truths can be learned from the play? Only this time Mrs. Clinton has promised to make the economy work for the common Americans and not just the higher class. While Mr. Trump has promised to make America great again. He points to the fact that Caesar s will gives his money to the people of Rome as proof that Caesar was not ambitious. Here is the will, and under Caesar s seal. To every Roman citizen he gives, To every several man, seventy five drachmas. By the time Anthony reads them the will money is almost no longer necessary. Just like after a runner receives your vote they re bond to forget all the promises made. When trying to make a political point start from common ground with those whom you are trying to influence.
