Stereotypes In A Rose For Emily
The background of my verbal visual is an open window, representing the room that Emily s
sweetheart, Homer Barron, was found in. This represents the switch in gender roles and the breaking
of stereotypes in the story, thus I believed it was a great way to tie in A Rose For Emily with the
feminist lens. Due to the stereotype that men are supposed to be dominant and aggressive, to see
Emily turn her back and murder Homer was quite the reversal of these stereotypes. Also, I included a
photo of a human hand and skeleton hand as well as a skull head to embody the immortal relationship
Emily strove for with Homer, which is definitely not a very lady like action. Additionally, I included
black lace to represent the oppression of women and the

San Pedro Sula Essay
In the first six months of the year, the two greatest cities have experienced a huge decline in crimes.
Even though, Tegucigalpa is considered the place with most killings in the country. Everything
indicates that the dispute between gangs for territory is the fundamental reason.
The capital, despite a reduction in homicides in relation to last year, is still in the first place for this
crime. According to the Violence Observatory of the National Autonomous University of Honduras
(UNAH), of the 25 most violent municipalities in the country, the Central District is sait to be the first

A Scientific Management, Taylorism, And Management
F.W Taylor introduced a scientific management, Taylorism, in the early 20th century to solve the
problem of inefficiency. The aim of Taylorism is to maixmise productivity and minimise waste of
resources using specialisation of labour. There are three main components of Taylorism and it will be
discussed in detail in the later paragraphs.
Firstly, according to Rose, M. (1978), Taylor believes that the root of inefficiency is the slacking and
soldiering of workers. And irrational and incompetent of managers. He further explained the idea of
inefficacy by stating managers are incompetent is because of the growth in scale and technical
complexity of industry . In order to dealt with the slackness of worker, the worker should be closely
control and supervise by inspector. This ensures that no one will shirk during work and the chance of
worker making mistakes are minimized. Hence worker will produce the maximum effort which leads
to increase in productivity. Taylorism also suggested the use of hierarchy organization structure which
means separating the decision maker, usually the managers and the people who receive orders from
the managers and implement it. This is because he believes that people with no management skills will
not be able to make a right decision and hence may leads to a waste of resources. Besides supervision,
Taylor asserted that managers should apply their professional knowledge on managing their worker
and plan the work. For example, calculating the

The Ethics Of Bill Gates
Let s suppose you are walking down the street on a Sunday afternoon when out of nowhere you see a
man get shot. You rush over to this man and can tell that he doesn t have more than a few moments
left. As his dying wish he makes you promise to give his fortune of $10 million dollars to his best
friend Bill Gates. As you are walking over to Bill Gates house you see a sign for Children s Miracle
Network Hospital asking for $10 million dollars for research on a rare genetic disease that could save
100,000 lives. What do you do? Would you keep your promise to the dying man and give this money
to Bill Gates or would you do what would help more people by donating the money to Children s
Miracle Network Hospital? If you decided to donate the money to charity to save an immense amount
of lives you would side with teleological theory whereas if you decided to keep your promise and give
the money to Bill Gates, you would be agreeing with deontological theory. These theories have deeply
divided modern ethics today. I would choose to agree with teleological theory to dishonor my promise
with this dying man to be able to bring more happiness on earth. I believe that if more people lived by
the teleological theory the world would be a better place today.
Teleological ethics is based on maximizing nonmoral goods, like pleasure, happiness, welfare, and the
improvement of suffering. The teleologist focuses on the outcome that each decision makes, not the
act itself. Teleological ethics are

How does the NCAA encourage collegiate football programs to develop a culture of ethics and
compliance?
Collegiate football is not only a very lucrative and rapidly growing business but it also has a
tremendous impact on our culture, influencing the values of millions of participants and spectators .
Because of this, it is vey important to ensure that the NCAA ensure that all teams not only follow the
rules and interpretations of the game, but also hold themselves to a higher standard with an established

the coach. It is required for the coaches to create a culture of integrity and direct his/her staff to uphold
NCAA bylaws (NCAA, 2012). If not, the head coach will be held accountable and there are possible
penalties as well to include suspension.
Is it a valid criticism that the NCAA is based more on compliance than ethical values?
The criticism will have to be based on a school by school basis. I specifically know of a situation
where my favorite football team, Notre Dame, had suspended their quarter back for violation of the
honor code by cheating on a test, when it was most critical to keep him playing when Notre Dame was
ranked #1 and going to the National Championships in 2012 who eventually were beaten for the title
by Alabama. Notre Dame has a very strong honor code and strictly adheres to the code of ethics. Is it
because the university is a Catholic school?? The university itself contacted the NCAA about the
academic dishonesty of four of their players which resulted in the suspension of Everett Golson (QB).
The University is committed to thorough resolution of this matter, consistent with its commitment to
academic integrity and adherence to NCAA rules, Father Jenkins said. In this case, it looks as though
Notre Dame is based more on ethical values than that of the NCAA. Although they NCAA does have
rules, regulations and punishments in place, they do not seem to attack ethical values head on than

Pressure Ulcer Documentation
The study that was chosen is a quantitative study of pressure ulcers documentation. The authors had
the idea to compare the accuracy and completeness of pressure ulcer documentation between
electronic and paper records. Using chart audit of patients with pressure ulcers health records, the
authors determine that accuracy and completeness, more comprehensive documentation practice was
founded on the electronic health records compared with paper records. From the study, the authors
concluded that, of the 52 patients with ulcers found in the hospital that used an electronic system, 43
of their records documented the pressure ulcers (83%). Of the 55 patients with pressure ulcers in the
hospital using paper records, 39 files had corresponding documentation of the presence of a pressure
ulcer (71%). (Tubaishat, Tawalbeh, Al Azzam, AlBashtawy, Batiha, 2015). Hence, the study in favor
of the Computerization Charting in terms of accuracy documentation of pressure ulcers.

Manipulative Techniques In Tartuffe
Throughout Moliere s Tartuffe both Cleante and Dorine attempt to expose Tartuffes hypocrisy,
confront Marianne of her frailty and expose the folly of Orgon. They use different strategies to
complete this task, and in the end, the tasks are accomplished. Cleante uses a reason based style, while
Dorine used a manipulative method to accomplish her goals. Although both seem to affect this goal, in
the end, Cleante s strategy seems to prevail.
Dorine is the lady s maid to Marianne and she primarily attempts to confront the frailty of Marianne.
Moliere reveals that Dorine s character is one that primarily relies on passive aggressive actions. This
is seen through her conversations throughout the play, particularly in Act 2 Scene 3. She also is
directly aggressive in the words she sometimes uses. This direct and blunt action is seen clearly in Act

confronts the fact that Marianne has been passive in her relationship with Valere. Although Marianne
wants out of the marriage scheme set up by Orgon(2.3, line 6) and claims to love Valere, she has
decided to kill herself instead of address the situation head on. Unfortunately, Valere does not stand up
for his marriage with Marianne. Because of this, Marianne feels defeated and says that she will take

process through providing dynamic and flexible insight to help the organization make informed
choices. The focus of hospital administration is to ensure that the management process is running

Pros And Cons Of Hacking
Hacking is the process of attempting to gain or successfully gain, unauthorized access to computer
resources. Nowadays this technology has become a crime due to these aspects, we should not neglect
using the technologies for such criminal aspects, and instead we can use it in the better manner like

Figurative Language In Stephen King s On Writing
1.
Many skilled authors use literary elements and techniques in their stories; for example, imagery,
dialogue, and figurative language. Not only do these authors use this devices, they use them correctly.
Stephen King, the author of On Writing and many other novels, uses these a lot throughout his novels.
Figurative language and imagery plays a huge role in developing King s novel. The
Rag s office was a table located in the dirt floored, rock walled, spider infested confines of our
basement, somewhere north of the furnace and east of the root cellar, where Clayt and Ella s endless
cartons of preserves and canned vegetables were kept (pg. 42). The author uses great imagery in this
passage in which he is describing the area where his brother worked. This is effective because it
allows the reader to envision the workspace. Grammar is not just a pain in the ass; it s the pole you
grab to get your thoughts up on their feet and walking (pg. 121). This is a metaphor, which is the
comparison of two things by just stating that one thing is the other.
Another example of this would be, Plot is a far bigger tool, the writer s jackhammer (pg. 164).
In the first example, grammar is being compared to a pole that a writer grabs hold of. In the second
sentence, King is comparing plot to a jackhammer, and it is effective to get the point across and
explain the things, grammar and plot in these examples, in an interesting way. In the first sentence,
there is also an example of

Descartes Arguments For The Mind Body Problem
The mind body problem can be understood in the following way, there is something it is like to be and
this being is by its nature subjective and an organism has conscious metal states only if there is
something it is like to be that organism. This indeed seems to be incredibly perplexing to explain in
terms of science because science the way it is practiced currently only explains phenomena
objectively, either it tries to reduce and explain the subjective in terms of objective processes or only
makes co relation of the subjective processes to the objective processes but if it only makes co relation
then it is not able to explain the subjective itself. For example take the color red, no account of any
physical theory of light wave, how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea was first pointed to as far back as Thomas Hobbes and Pierre Gassendi, they both made
claims which now would be understood as mind/brain identity theory (R 39). However it wasn t till
the mid nineteen hundreds this claim was systematically fleshed out by a group of Australian
philosophers which included J.J.C Smart. Smart gives the following analogy to make the argument
clear, mental states are identical to brain states in the same way water in identical to H2O or lightning
is identical to atmospheric electrical discharge. To further clarify the argument we will explain the
important distinction between token and types. Imagine that there are four German Shepard s playing
in the park, in this case we have four tokens of the type German Shepard. The tokens are the
individual dogs and the type is the kind or class they belong to. The German Shepherds also belong to
many other types for example, mammals, animals, material, object, etc. Now that we have the
distinction between tokens and types clear we can further proceed and explain token identity and type
identity. Take for example Superman and Clark Kent are the same person so if were to be invited to a
party by Clerk Kent you are simultaneously invited to the party by Superman. Thus Clerk Kent and
Superman being the same person are token identical.

Infibulation (a.k.a. Pharaonic circumcision) is the third and most dramatic procedure of FGM s; it has
been banned in some countries but still exists in others. This most extreme form consists of the
removal of the clitoris, the adjacent labia minora, labia majora, and the urethral and vaginal openings
are cut away. The vagina is then stitched or held together with thorns, leaving a small opening for
menstruation and urination. To engage in intercourse the woman is then cut open by her husband on
their wedding night. The woman s vagina is often restitched if her husband leaves on a long trip to
secure fidelity. Female Genital Mutilations are mostly done without anesthesia and in unsanitary
conditions where instruments such as unsterilized razor blades, tin lids, scissors, kitchen knives, and
broken glass are used. (3)These instruments are frequently used on several girls in succession and are
rarely cleaned.
In various cultures there exist different justifications for Female Genital Mutilation including
preserving cultural and gender identity, controlling women sexuality, and other

What Is A Non Traditional Family
It takes a village to raise a child is an African proverb that means a lot to me. Some families are not
traditional, meaning there may be only one parent in the home. I am a part of a non traditional family.
My mother is raising my sister and I as a single parent. Although I have had moments when I wished
both my parents were in the home, I have had the benefit of being raised by a village. The parts of my
life where my dad s absence left holes, my village filled in. Often times my uncles, grandfathers and
cousins stood in the gaps that were left by my father. When I was in the second grade my school had a
breakfast called Donuts for Dads. This was an event where all of the students and their fathers would
eat donuts before school and the

Monologue In Our Town
Thornton Wilder, a Wisconsin native, is the writer of the Pulitzer Prize winner play Our Town. In Our
Town, Wilder tells the story of a town in Grover s Corners, New Hampshire, and the daily lives of the
inhabitants. In the play, the author uses minimal props and scenery as well as including a main
character known as the Stage Manager that has the ability to break the fourth wall, allowing him to
talk to the audience. This factor of talking to the audience is a major component of making the public
a part of the town. Throughout the play, there are many instances in which the Stage Manager uses
various cues as well as dialogues to incorporate the audience and develop an intimate relationship to
create a true sense of our town . Initially, one of the most notable instances in which the Stage Manger

Most notably, the dialogue after the end of every act in which he refers to them and lets them know
that it is the end of the act and prompts the audience to do as they please during their breaks. One of
the occasions in which this can be seen is at the end of Act I. The Stage Manager lets the audience
know that that is the end of the first act and prompts them to go and smoke, for those that do smoke
(Wilder 46). Alternatively, Wilder uses this same technique at the end of Act II and Act III in which
the Stage Manager announces a ten minute intermission and wishes the audience a good night.
Similarly, the play does a great job of incorporating the audience into the message being delivered.
Haberman explains that life should be done with one idea at mind which is that life can stop whenever
it is least expected, and therefore should be lived in a much better way (29). The idea is presented
most prominently within the third act of the play and portrays and important aspect in the overall
message of the entirety of the

Effects Of Wars Leave On Business
Executive Summary This research paper will provide an analysis and evaluation of the effects that
wars leave on business. Examples of these include embassies that prohibit their citizens to visit those
countries in war. If these countries at war base their economy in tourism this will result them to not be
economically stable since there is a ban in visiting their countries. Since there is no tourism and no
business to survive on, the citizens of these countries may resort to drug business to feed themselves.

The Battle Of Yorktown By William Faulkner
Battle of Yorktown
A Striking Start
You are galloping full speed at full speed like it is the last day of your life, you ride into the city of
Yorktown fiercely, then your rider wants you to go faster, you are galloping faster than you have ever
run, as fast as a speeding bullet. The wind is slapping your face as hard as a hammer, you finally run
into the sea of smoke, muskets, and bayonets. The person riding you violently thrusts his mighty
sword, and swiftly fires his French pistol. Cannonballs fly over you like soaring hawks destroying the
fortifications that may have taken years to build, you are a proud horse in The American
Revolutionary War, and you will never stop galloping for the Patriots even if it kills you.

troops commanded by George Washington and, admiral Francois, Count de Grasse a French naval

headquarters, but on the other side of the James River in Gloucester there were only 1,000 British
troops to protect the fort against 3,000 French, and troops from the continental army. The Patriots set
up a hospital 2 miles southeast from British lines, this is convenient because they didn t have to go a

The British soldiers were cornered because the Continental Army attacked from all sides. The
Continental Army did what was the worst that could happen to the British during the Revolutionary
War.On September 20th the Continental Army reached Yorktown and started to attack. The
Continental Army set up a camp far outside the lines of the British Headquarters so the continental
army could get new supplies so just in case of an attack from the land they would be able to access
goods from water. The French army also had flooded the James river with their naval boats
surrounding the British army from all sides. These boats played a key role in the battle of Yorktown not

Byron Irish America Summary
Reginald Byron, in Irish America, has pro vided a thorough historical and ethnographic picture of Irish
American ethnicity in Albany, New York. In addition to deepening our knowledge of the immigration
of Irish people to the United States in the nineteenth centu ry, Byron also forcefully argues against
total izing narratives of ethnicity. By focusing on an Irish population that constituted a significant
portion of the population of Albany, we can see that ethnicity is a complex phenomenon. Byron begins
his discussion of the Irish in Albany, in Chapters 2 and 3, by delving into the history of immigration in
New York State. He shows that the Irish, coming to Albany before, during, and after the Potato
Famine of the mid 1800s, were

The Consequences And Effects Of Nurse Bullying And Solutions
Effects of Nurse Bullying and Solutions Nurse bullying is a problem within the nursing profession that
continues to be harmful. Nurse bullying is defined as a repeated, offensive, abusive, intimidating, or
insulting behavior, abuse of power, or unfair sanctions that make recipients upset and feel humiliated,
vulnerable or threatened, creating stress and undermining self confidence (Castronovo, Pullizzi,
Evans, 2016). Nurse bullying is not a new problem and impacts nurses, healthcare organizations, and
patients. There has been documented evidence of nurse bullying for the last 100 years and proposed
solutions. The consequences of nurse bullying are immense and effect the victim and the organization.
There have been efforts to address the problem, however bullying continues to be widespread in the
nursing profession.
Issue
Nurse bullying is an important issue in the nursing profession. Bullying contributes to unhealthy and
toxic environments, which in turn contribute to ineffective patient care, increased stress, and decreased
job satisfaction among healthcare providers (Bennett Sawatzky, 2013, p. 144) The personal effects
include anxiety, depression, fatigue, and headaches (Castronovo et al. 2016). Bennett and Sawatzy
(2013) explain that the professional consequences include staff turnover and loss of productivity.
According to Bennett et al. (2013), it is estimated that bullying may cost over $4 billion annually.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Piracetam
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Piracetam was developed by Romanian chemist, Corneliu E. Giurgea in 1964. It was created by
converting 2 pyrrolidinone into an amide. Piracetam was the first racetam developed and has a long
history of use in the medical field. Although it has been observed to have medical benefits, it is not
registered in North America and is used off label as a nootropic.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Piracetams mechanism of action is not fully understood. It is a cyclic derivative of GABA, yet GABA
receptors and metabolism appear to not be affected. It is neither, a sedative or a stimulant but is known
to influence cognitive ability. Piracetam is also believed to be a vasodilator and a circulatory agent but

This is said to be reduced by supplementation with a choline source, like Alpha GPC or CDP Choline.
This is just a theory and if you experience these side effects it is best to discontinue use and seek
medical counsel advice.
Drug interactions with Piracetam seem to be limited. If you are on any other medication, always
consult with a doctor before use and avoid using higher than recommended dosages. Piracetam should
not been relied on as a treatment for any serious medical condition.
Tolerance with the substance seems very low. Often, the substance can be taken for months without
any notice of tolerance build up but this can vary. Tolerance has not been shown to lead to unpleasant
withdrawal symptoms but this can vary as well and should always be evaluated. Some racetam users
will cycle Piracetam to reduce tolerance.

The Art Of Being Hum Role Of Myth
In the textbook: The Art Of Being Human Chapter 3 is about the role of myth in the humanities.
Before art was made there was something called mythology. In every religion, there is a hero and that
hero was prophesied to save the world or save the people that believed in that religion or followed the
rules by granting them eternal life or afterlife in a promised land. The humanities could be found in
mythology. This essay will talk about how mythology, in the role of humanities, should be considered
nonfiction or real.
The birth of the hero may come in an extraordinary circumstance such as the womb of a virgin or a
mortal woman impregnated by a god. That hero is always a man. In Greek culture, that hero is
Hercules, son of Zeus and a mortal woman. In Christian Culture the hero is Jesus, son of God and the
Virgin Mary. His birth was announced by an angel and took place in an inn. Both births are similar
because they were both born with fathers that are gods and mothers that are mortals. Muhammad from
Islamic religion was also born from a virgin mother and announced by an angel. His mother Aminah
and was visited by Mary, Eve, and Asiya during the birth and Muhammed became a prophet just like
Jesus. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

to push a giant boulder off of something his father buried in the earth long ago. He along with Zeus

Standardized Terminologies In Nursing Practice
Applying Standardized Terminologies in Practice Hyperhemesis gravidarum is a condition in which
the pregnant woman experiences severe nausea and vomiting. Although the causes of hyperemesis
gravidarum are not well known; however, many believe that elevated blood level of human chorionic
gonadotopin (HCG) may be a contributing factor of this condition. Currently the cause of nausea and
vomiting in pregnancy is unknown, although there is strong evidence linking human chorionic
gonadotropin or estrogens as well as genetic susceptibility possibly mediated through the
vestibuloocular reflex pathway (Fejzo et al., 2012). The following case scenario refers to a 22 weeks

Nursing terminologies also help nurses to plan care that reflects the patient s needs, anticipate these
needs, and intervene accordingly. In addition, nursing informatics makes the use of standardized
terminologies more important than ever because it allows differentiating the impact of nursing care
from those of other disciplines. Thus, the standardization of nursing terminologies with documented
nursing diagnoses, nursing interventions, and patient outcomes is important to nursing practice
because it unifies the language among nurses and other healthcare providers, which will have a

Criminal procedures are safeguards against the indiscriminate use of criminal laws and the cruel
treatment of alleged criminals. In detail, they are designed to impose the constitutional rights of
criminal the defendants, starting with initial police contact and continuing through arrest, trial,
investigation, sentencing, and appeals. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the difference between a
misdemeanor and felony, speedy trial for misdemeanors and felonies, and the Speedy Trial Act of
1974. Difference in Misdemeanor and Felony According to Attonery.com both a misdemeanor and
felonies are criminal charges however with one big difference, a misdemeanor you are in a local or
county jail and a felony you are in a state or federal prison.
Misdemeanors
Misdemeanors offenses are punishable by substantial fines and sometimes jail time, usually less than
one year. Any jail term would most likely be served in a county jail, rather than a state or federal
correctional institution. Minor crimes consisting of offenses such as petty theft, which is the theft of
items with little worth, normally a person can t be arrested for a misdemeanor unless the crime was
committed in front of the officer. Petty offense misdemeanors are usually held in a shortened trial,
where defendants do not have the right to court appointed lawyers if they can t afford one. Jury trials

the musical instruments and beats to the song as she swings her hips from side to side. Her

poverty and the gap between the rich and poor. This can happen a lot all over the world. This could be
happening for many reasons but the main reason it stated was that people are losing their jobs and don
t have any income then have no choice but to leave their home, so then they end up living on the
streets. The people there are trying to help it but it s becoming hard to so they can t really do anything
about it. Some people have family they can go live with until they can find another job but some don t

Teens have different rules and laws all over the world. According to New Zealand Now, most children
in New Zealand start school on their 5th birthday and all children must be enrolled at school from
their 6th birthday. Another thing that could be different is the technology. In New Zealand, their
technology is not different than here. They have modern TVs, phones, etc. Something that is also the

Bitzer s Rhetorical Model
Scott McWhirter
English 101 Section 043
Professor Hayes
March 31, 2011
Bitzer s The Rhetorical Situation Penguin responses to climate change in the Southern Ocean by
Jaume Forcada and Philip N. Trathan (2009) was a study conducted to analyze and predict the
migrating patterns of different species of penguins due to changes in climate. (p. 1618) Also, Forcada
and Trathan investigate whether or not certain species of penguins possess phenotypic plasticity (the
ability of an organism to change its phenotype in response to changes in the environment) (p. 1618).

Although the authors of this article regularly use a multitude of sources, data, and statistics to support
their hypothesis, there are several (not all) which seem to be overly used and randomly cited. This
may serve as a constraint to the audience because if the information presented does not seem to be
entirely relevant, it may be a painless assumption for the audience that the issue at hand is not an
incredibly urgent one, but instead, a rhetoric discoursed just for the sake of rhetoric. Also, the
overwhelming wealth of information shown may serve as a distraction from the simple fact the
rhetoric is trying to convey: penguins are affected by climate change; in result, penguins affect the
environment. The information does not, however, prove to be faulty, but each piece of data seems to
be calculated accurately. For example, a table is provided that names each species of penguin, the
threats against them, and their resulting response to that threat. This makes it very clear whether each
species has the ability to adapt, or if the climate change has just caused them to disperse. Also, each
piece of data is affiliated with a source, which increases the audience s opinion of the writer s
character.
Another aspect of the research that does seem to constrain the author s point of view, however, is the
fact that no actual experiment was conducted by F amp; T.

at the same time shows how he may have been passive with the trust busting with the intention of

with the passing of the Payne Aldrich Tariff Act. The tariff was passed by Congress in 1909, and it
was the first change in tariff laws since the Dingley Act of 1897. The issue had been blatantly ignored
by Roosevelt during his terms and the Republicans wanted to revise the tariff downward. To do this
Taft called Congress to a special session, and the bill was promptly passed, reducing rates. The senate
substituted a bill which reduced the number of downward revisions and increased many others. This
angered many and so a compromise bill was adopted which moderated the high rates that Aldrich had
pushed for. Overall the tariff lowered 650 items, raised 220, and left 1150 unchanged. Although it was

Genesis Allegory
The Bible in the Christian religion is used as a guide and answer book to any concerns that one might
have. With one concern having in mind about whether evolution happened or not, perhaps Genesis has
a hidden message about this topic. In the beginning of chapter two of Genesis, it starts by God
creating the first man and woman and placing them in the garden of Eden. God told Adam and Eve
that they can eat from any tree and plant they want, but except the fruits from the tree of knowledge.
At some time, a snake described as the most intelligent of all the wild animals appeared and told Eve
that probably the reason why the Lord didn t allowed anyone to eat the fruits because they will see
clearly and.. will be like God, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3). Eve, thinking the tree of knowledge
will provide her wisdom, eats the fruit as well her husband Adam. As a result, humanity till now
suffers the consequences of Adam and Eve as same with the snake, it was known as an intelligent
animal to a cursed one. This allegory in Genesis warns humanity about too much knowledge . For
example, the snake was known as the most intelligent creature, but yet it was the cause of the downfall
of Adam and Eve. Eve disobeyed God and took a bite of the fruit from the tree of knowledge, because
she wanted to be like God and obtain the understatement of life. ... Show more content on

image of its composer that electrifies for generations. Rock N Roll has it all, yet to understand it
deeply we must understand the fathers. Chuck Berry plunged his guitar into his amp and turned the

image for the next decade while America started to find out who it was and what their bleak future had
in store for them. Chuck Berry had a distinct sound that gave him an edge in finding his audience. He
began using the call and response with his volume pumped up guitar. He would evoke not just image
but raw skill where he can make his guitar do the singing for him while he s accompanied by his

Based on its potential for growth and value addition, the Government of India has declared the Gems
and Jewellery sector as a focus area for export promotion. The Government has recently undertaken
various measures to promote investments and to upgrade technology and skills to promote Brand India
in the international market.
India is deemed to be the hub of the global jewellery market because of its low costs and availability
of high skilled labour. India is the world s largest cutting and polishing centre for diamonds, with the
cutting and polishing industry being well supported by government policies. Moreover, India exports
95 per cent of the world s diamonds, as per statistics from the Gems and Jewellery Export promotion
Council (GJEPC). The industry is projected to generate up to US$ 35 billion of revenue from exports
in 2015.
India s Gems and Jewellery sector has been contributing in a big way to the country s foreign
exchange earnings (FEEs). The Government of India has viewed the sector as a thrust area for export

Reflective Journal Wayside Woods Prairie I visited the Wayside Woods Prairie preserve on November
26 Sunday for the service learning. The Wayside Woods Prairie is an Illinois natural preserve which is
a former baseball diamond which is now covered with prairie flowers joining two small, high quality
prairie remnants. Many of the classic prairie plants are found here, including grasses such as big
bluestem, switch grass and norther dropseed; stiff and Riddell s goldenrods; tall coreopsis, prairie
dock, compass plant and many others. Rapid expansion of buckthorn trees has been occurring in this
forest preserve which is major obstacle in the survival of this preserve s native species which are
mainly grasses. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main purpose of this visit was to cut and burn the buckthorn trees which have dominated the
grassland of this forest preserve. Similar tools like the other visits were used. The buckthorn trees in
this area were mostly young with population of high density in certain areas and the range of their
occupied area was from entrance of the forest up to one quarter of the area at the end of the savanna.
The buckthorns were cut and by aligning them on the fire place against the direction of the wind then
were burnt. During our visit we noticed that unlike the Bunker Hill Savanna forest preserve we were
first greeted by the grassland then the forest. In the middle of the savanna we saw a buck or a male
deer grazing on the grass found over there. In addition, we were able to observe a species of hawk that
was rarely seen close up. It had a golden brownish color and was sitting in the nearby tree observing
the activities that were done in the forest. After the required buckthorn trees were cut and burnt,
herbicide was sprayed on their remaining parts on the ground. Next seeds of some of the native plants
of that area were dispersed over the area where the buckthorn trees have previously occupied. The
purpose of dispersing the seeds of the area was to increase the population of the native species which
enable them to dominate the area and maintain the

Comparison Of Buddhism And Taoism
Taoism and Buddhism are China s two major religions. Taoism is a Chinese philosophical, religious,
and spiritual belief system that teaches one to flow with life and to be true to one s nature. Taoism is
one of China s five religions. It is one of three philosophical teachings which also include Buddhism,
and Confucianism. Taoism began in the in the late 4th century BC under the work of Laozi, in the Tao
Te Ching. Tao means way and Taoism is sometimes expressed as the flow of the universe. Taoism s
central value is naturalness, which one achieves by freeing themselves from desire and selfish
thoughts and behaviors and embracing simplicity in life. Taoism is also sometimes referred to as
Daoism.
Taoism teaches that trusting one s instincts and gut is the path to finding one s true nature. Taoism has
survived as long as it has it has because it teaches to adapt to which allows followers to embrace
modern culture rather than fight it. The three most popular ancient Taoist works include Tao Te Ching
written by Laozi, and one written by Lieh Tzu, and another written by Chuang Tzu. Taoism teaches to
reject hate, to reject intolerance, and to live with compassion, harmony, and balance in one s life.
Violence is considered to be a last resort in Taoism. Taoism can help one to decrease stress in their
life, which is known to cause illness. Taoism teaches that bad deeds and sin result in illness. The
morality of Taoism is based upon three treasures including being

La Migra Pat Mora
In the first line of La Migra , Pat Mora opens the poem in an appealing way by stating Let s play La
Migra as if the poem that the reader is about to read is about any ordinary game (1). The poem is a
game of freedom that unfortunately many people face, putting at jeopardy the lives of all the
characters involved if factors turn against their favor. The prize of the winner is very simple for each;
if the immigrant woman wins she obtains the American dream, and if the border patrol wins he has
accomplished his duty of keeping immigrants out of the country. The author creates two sections
letting each of the two characters be vulnerable at one point but also have authority at another. In the
first section, the border patrol is the one to hold the authority. He repeatedly states I can over the
things he can do to the woman because he holds authority to do so (8,12). In the next second section
of the poem the author switches the authority around to the woman, and this is implied because at the
end of the poem she states Get ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I first saw it, it surprised me because it was in Spanish. The name was straightforward and I
knew it would talk about immigration from an immigrant s point of view. As I started to read the poem
it was somewhat different then what I expected. The poem indeed was from an immigrant s point of
view but also included a border patrol s perspective. What I had never expected for the poem to be is
to have an immigrant woman defying the authority of a border patrol. In most cases immigrants are
scared especially at the sound of la migra which is a slag word for immigration in Spanish. In
addition, when the speaker was the border patrol officer he made himself sound bad by stating the
things he could do to the woman. In most cases the speaker does not talk bad about themselves
especially if being of authority figure like in this

What Does The Parables Say About The Kingdom Of God
Journal 8
Psalm 103:19 reads, The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over
all. As highlighted in this verse, the Kingdom of God spans across both earth and heaven and rules
over them with equal authority. Much of what we know about the Kingdom of God comes from the
parables Jesus told during his earthly ministry. On the surface, it may be hard to determine just what
Jesus is saying about the Kingdom of God. By considering the deeper meanings of parables, however,
it is possible to see exactly what the parables reveal about the Kingdom of God and what
hermeneutical implications that has for our lives.
To discover what the parables say about the Kingdom of God, they must first be interpreted. Jesus
himself can be found saying that parables contain mysteries on the inside. Sometimes, however,
finding the deeper meaning for a parable can be tricky. To make the task of interpreting parables
easier, it helps to find out Jesus audience. Jesus did not intend for us to be unable to understand his
parables. Rather, he fully intended for them to shed light on the Kingdom of God, sometimes we just
need to dig a little deeper with an open heart and open eyes.
After interpreting the parables that deal with the Kingdom of God, it is possible to determine some
characteristics of the Kingdom of God. With Jesus arrival, he brought with him the Kingdom, hence
the reason he is explaining it to people via parables. While Jesus already brought the Kingdom of God,
it is also not here yet. God s kingdom reconciliation has begun on this earth but will not be completed
until Jesus comes again to finish it completely. Jesus first coming was the beginning of the end for the
Kingdom of God. Beyond that, Jesus reveals many other things about the Kingdom of God. For
example, from the mustard seed parable, the Kingdom of God is like the nature of a mustard seed in
that it started small but is growing very large. In addition, Jesus explains the four different responses
people have to the Kingdom of God in the parable of the sower by explaining the outcome of seed
planted on four different types of soil. Some do not understand it, some fall away after troubles, some
become unfruitful because of

  • 2. Stereotypes In A Rose For Emily The background of my verbal visual is an open window, representing the room that Emily s sweetheart, Homer Barron, was found in. This represents the switch in gender roles and the breaking of stereotypes in the story, thus I believed it was a great way to tie in A Rose For Emily with the feminist lens. Due to the stereotype that men are supposed to be dominant and aggressive, to see Emily turn her back and murder Homer was quite the reversal of these stereotypes. Also, I included a photo of a human hand and skeleton hand as well as a skull head to embody the immortal relationship Emily strove for with Homer, which is definitely not a very lady like action. The aim of Taylorism is to maixmise productivity and minimise waste of resources using specialisation of labour. There are three main components of Taylorism and it will be discussed in detail in the later paragraphs. Firstly, according to Rose, M. (1978), Taylor believes that the root of inefficiency is the slacking and soldiering of workers. And irrational and incompetent of managers. He further explained the idea of inefficacy by stating managers are incompetent is because of the growth in scale and technical complexity of industry . In order to dealt with the slackness of worker, the worker should be closely control and supervise by inspector. This ensures that no one will shirk during work and the chance of worker making mistakes are minimized. Hence worker will produce the maximum effort which leads to increase in productivity. Taylorism also suggested the use of hierarchy organization structure which means separating the decision maker, usually the managers and the people who receive orders from the managers and implement it. This is because he believes that people with no management skills will not be able to make a right decision and hence may leads to a waste of resources. Besides supervision, Taylor asserted that managers should apply their professional knowledge on managing their worker and plan the work. For example, calculating the ... You rush over to this man and can tell that he doesn t have more than a few moments left. As you are walking over to Bill Gates house you see a sign for Children s Miracle Network Hospital asking for $10 million dollars for research on a rare genetic disease that could save 100,000 lives. What do you do? Would you keep your promise to the dying man and give this money to Bill Gates or would you do what would help more people by donating the money to Children s Miracle Network Hospital? If you decided to donate the money to charity to save an immense amount of lives you would side with teleological theory whereas if you decided to keep your promise and give the money to Bill Gates, you would be agreeing with deontological theory. These theories have deeply divided modern ethics today. I would choose to agree with teleological theory to dishonor my promise with this dying man to be able to bring more happiness on earth. I believe that if more people lived by the teleological theory the world would be a better place today. Teleological ethics is based on maximizing nonmoral goods, like pleasure, happiness, welfare, and the improvement of suffering. The criticism will have to be based on a school by school basis. I specifically know of a situation where my favorite football team, Notre Dame, had suspended their quarter back for violation of the honor code by cheating on a test, when it was most critical to keep him playing when Notre Dame was ranked #1 and going to the National Championships in 2012 who eventually were beaten for the title by Alabama. Notre Dame has a very strong honor code and strictly adheres to the code of ethics. Is it because the university is a Catholic school?? The university itself contacted the NCAA about the academic dishonesty of four of their players which resulted in the suspension of Everett Golson (QB). The University is committed to thorough resolution of this matter, consistent with its commitment to academic integrity and adherence to NCAA rules, Father Jenkins said. • 22. Figurative Language In Stephen King s On Writing 1. Many skilled authors use literary elements and techniques in their stories; for example, imagery, dialogue, and figurative language. Not only do these authors use this devices, they use them correctly. Stephen King, the author of On Writing and many other novels, uses these a lot throughout his novels. Figurative language and imagery plays a huge role in developing King s novel. The Rag s office was a table located in the dirt floored, rock walled, spider infested confines of our basement, somewhere north of the furnace and east of the root cellar, where Clayt and Ella s endless cartons of preserves and canned vegetables were kept (pg. 42). The author uses great imagery in this passage in which he is describing the area where his brother worked. This is effective because it allows the reader to envision the workspace. Grammar is not just a pain in the ass; it s the pole you grab to get your thoughts up on their feet and walking (pg. 121). This is a metaphor, which is the comparison of two things by just stating that one thing is the other. Another example of this would be, Plot is a far bigger tool, the writer s jackhammer (pg. 164). In the first example, grammar is being compared to a pole that a writer grabs hold of. In the second sentence, King is comparing plot to a jackhammer, and it is effective to get the point across and explain the things, grammar and plot in these examples, in an interesting way. In the first sentence, there is also an example of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This indeed seems to be incredibly perplexing to explain in terms of science because science the way it is practiced currently only explains phenomena objectively, either it tries to reduce and explain the subjective in terms of objective processes or only makes co relation of the subjective processes to the objective processes but if it only makes co relation then it is not able to explain the subjective itself. This idea was first pointed to as far back as Thomas Hobbes and Pierre Gassendi, they both made claims which now would be understood as mind/brain identity theory (R 39). However it wasn t till the mid nineteen hundreds this claim was systematically fleshed out by a group of Australian philosophers which included J.J.C Smart. Smart gives the following analogy to make the argument clear, mental states are identical to brain states in the same way water in identical to H2O or lightning is identical to atmospheric electrical discharge. To further clarify the argument we will explain the important distinction between token and types. Imagine that there are four German Shepard s playing in the park, in this case we have four tokens of the type German Shepard. The tokens are the individual dogs and the type is the kind or class they belong to. The German Shepherds also belong to many other types for example, mammals, animals, material, object, etc. Now that we have the distinction between tokens and types clear we can further proceed and explain token identity and type identity. Take for example Superman and Clark Kent are the same person so if were to be invited to a party by Clerk Kent you are simultaneously invited to the party by Superman. Thus Clerk Kent and Superman being the same person are token identical. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Wayside Woods Prairie is an Illinois natural preserve which is a former baseball diamond which is now covered with prairie flowers joining two small, high quality prairie remnants. Many of the classic prairie plants are found here, including grasses such as big bluestem, switch grass and norther dropseed; stiff and Riddell s goldenrods; tall coreopsis, prairie dock, compass plant and many others. Rapid expansion of buckthorn trees has been occurring in this forest preserve which is major obstacle in the survival of this preserve s native species which are mainly grasses. ... Similar tools like the other visits were used. The buckthorn trees in this area were mostly young with population of high density in certain areas and the range of their occupied area was from entrance of the forest up to one quarter of the area at the end of the savanna. The buckthorns were cut and by aligning them on the fire place against the direction of the wind then were burnt. During our visit we noticed that unlike the Bunker Hill Savanna forest preserve we were first greeted by the grassland then the forest. In the middle of the savanna we saw a buck or a male deer grazing on the grass found over there. In addition, we were able to observe a species of hawk that was rarely seen close up. It had a golden brownish color and was sitting in the nearby tree observing the activities that were done in the forest. After the required buckthorn trees were cut and burnt, herbicide was sprayed on their remaining parts on the ground. Next seeds of some of the native plants of that area were dispersed over the area where the buckthorn trees have previously occupied. The purpose of dispersing the seeds of the area was to increase the population of the native species which enable them to dominate the area and maintain the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. La Migra Pat Mora In the first line of La Migra , Pat Mora opens the poem in an appealing way by stating Let s play La Migra as if the poem that the reader is about to read is about any ordinary game (1). The poem is a game of freedom that unfortunately many people face, putting at jeopardy the lives of all the characters involved if factors turn against their favor. The prize of the winner is very simple for each; if the immigrant woman wins she obtains the American dream, and if the border patrol wins he has accomplished his duty of keeping immigrants out of the country. The author creates two sections letting each of the two characters be vulnerable at one point but also have authority at another. In the first section, the border patrol is the one to hold the authority. He repeatedly states I can over the things he can do to the woman because he holds authority to do so (8,12). In the next second section of the poem the author switches the authority around to the woman, and this is implied because at the end of the poem she states Get ... The name was straightforward and I knew it would talk about immigration from an immigrant s point of view. As I started to read the poem it was somewhat different then what I expected. The poem indeed was from an immigrant s point of view but also included a border patrol s perspective. What I had never expected for the poem to be is to have an immigrant woman defying the authority of a border patrol. In most cases immigrants are scared especially at the sound of la migra which is a slag word for immigration in Spanish. In addition, when the speaker was the border patrol officer he made himself sound bad by stating the things he could do to the woman. In most cases the speaker does not talk bad about themselves especially if being of authority figure like in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. What Does The Parables Say About The Kingdom Of God Journal 8 Psalm 103:19 reads, The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all. As highlighted in this verse, the Kingdom of God spans across both earth and heaven and rules over them with equal authority. Much of what we know about the Kingdom of God comes from the parables Jesus told during his earthly ministry. On the surface, it may be hard to determine just what Jesus is saying about the Kingdom of God. By considering the deeper meanings of parables, however, it is possible to see exactly what the parables reveal about the Kingdom of God and what hermeneutical implications that has for our lives. To discover what the parables say about the Kingdom of God, they must first be interpreted. Jesus himself can be found saying that parables contain mysteries on the inside. Sometimes, however, finding the deeper meaning for a parable can be tricky. To make the task of interpreting parables easier, it helps to find out Jesus audience. Jesus did not intend for us to be unable to understand his parables. Rather, he fully intended for them to shed light on the Kingdom of God, sometimes we just need to dig a little deeper with an open heart and open eyes. After interpreting the parables that deal with the Kingdom of God, it is possible to determine some characteristics of the Kingdom of God. With Jesus arrival, he brought with him the Kingdom, hence the reason he is explaining it to people via parables. While Jesus already brought the Kingdom of God, it is also not here yet. God s kingdom reconciliation has begun on this earth but will not be completed until Jesus comes again to finish it completely. Jesus first coming was the beginning of the end for the Kingdom of God. Beyond that, Jesus reveals many other things about the Kingdom of God. For example, from the mustard seed parable, the Kingdom of God is like the nature of a mustard seed in that it started small but is growing very large. In addition, Jesus explains the four different responses people have to the Kingdom of God in the parable of the sower by explaining the outcome of seed planted on four different types of soil. Some do not understand it, some fall away after troubles, some become unfruitful because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
