Analysis Of Over The Garden Wall
Over the Garden Wall is a children s cartoon series with a rather dark subject: a visit to the afterlife.
The show focuses on two brothers, Wirt and Greg. Unaware of their true plight, Wirt and Greg
navigate their way through unfamiliar territory in search of a way home, and meet other unusual
characters along the way. The show resembles Dante s own trip to the afterlife in many ways. Over the
Garden Wall alludes to Dante s Commedia through its settings, the characters, and the aspects that the
two versions of the afterlife share, all of which implies that the series is based loosely on Dante s
travels in his Commedia. In the opening scene of the show, Wirt and Greg are lost in a forest with no
recollection of how they came to be there. This is very similar to the first canto of Inferno, in which
Dante is also lost in a dark wood . The brothers are pursued by a monstrous dog when they first arrive,
akin to how Dante is accosted by the three beasts in Limbo shortly after appearing there. Later in the
show, we come to find out the place where Wirt and Greg have ended up is referred to as The
Unknown . The Unknown is separated into different regions, much like how the Commedia s realms
have different areas, with various trials to be overcome in each section. In the last episode of the show,
it is apparent that The Unknown is a purgatory like afterlife, and that the brothers journey to find their
home has actually been them searching for a way back the land of the living.

Descriptive Essay Christmas
Christmas I sat awaiting all of my family members in the heat filled garage that would become much
warmer as the night went on. It would be filled with loud laughter and cheering from my whole
family. It would be smelling of grandma s ham she cooked and pretzel salad my mom makes every
year. I m getting anxious as i hear a car pull up outside crunching on the black gravel. I rush to the
window and see my cousins step out of the car, I rush to the door to greet them with a big smile on my
face. It is our annual family Christmas party and my cousins one a year older than me and one
younger rush to give me a big hug at the door. I haven t seen them in a couple of months and we have
all missed each other. My Aunt and Uncle sneak two presents into the garage while my grandma and
grandpa give my cousins hugs.
Well hello there, come on in! shouts my grandma excitedly. She gives them all kisses on the cheek and
then my cousins and I run upstairs to the kitchen, away from all the loud noise. We all have three big
grins on our faces when my brother comes in from the living room. He also is smiling and takes
ashton in to the garage to play with the legos. Meghan and I await the rest of our family in the kitchen
window. More people start showing up and my little cousin Kearson arrives.
The garage in full of all sorts of voices now, for most of my large family has arrived. Meghan and I
rush down the stairs greeted my a strong little hug from our favorite cousin.

Peekay As A Man In Bryce Courtenay s The Power Of One
Power Of One
In The Power Of One, by Bryce Courtenay, the main character Peekay undergoes a brutal childhood of
constant beat downs and bed wetting. Living in an extremely prejudice society that South Africa is is
not exactly easy either, especially if you are an Englishman like Peekay. Despite these horrible
situations that Peekay has to live in, he always gets through on top, but he would not have been able to
do this well without the right people who taught him what he needs to be a powerful man. But with all
the odds stacked against Peekay, he gets through thanks to the influence of friends and mentors like
Hoppie, Doc, and Geel Piet, Peekay becomes the strong independent man that he is now.
The first major role model in Peekay s life was none other than Hoppie Groenewald. After Peekay had
finally completed boarding school under the care of a nanny, it was time for him to hop on the train to
go back home with his Mom and Grandpa. He is greeted by at his cabin by Hoppie Groenewald,
conductor, guard, and welterweight boxer. Hoppie being a great boxer gives him great advice about
boxing, saying First with the head, then with the heart. (100) Taking into consideration that Hoppie is
one of the first people that is actually nice to Peekay, he does not take this advice lightly. The advice
given to Peekay follows him for the rest of his life, and helps him realize that he has to think about
something before he puts his all into it. When Peekay is doing things throughout the

The Advantages Of Distance Education Vs. Traditional...
Distance education is a unique type of education that is available online. Lessons are given, along with
assignments; assignments are then completed and submitted through the internet. This type of
education is an alternative to traditional education. It is not for everyone; however, it has become
popular among people who work or stay at home. While distance education has its defects overall, it s
a great way to start or finish post secondary education. Nevertheless, distance education can help
people who decide to take this step. One of the advantages of distance education is its convenience;
imagine getting a college education without having to move to another city or state. With online
education, you can benefit from that and many other things. Online education is a great way to get
educated if one is unable or not ready to move. I am benefiting from this convenient way of learning,
and so far, it s been great. Besides its convenience, distance education also has a better price. The cost
of distance education is lower than traditional education. Tuition itself can result up to four hundred
dollars cheaper online than on a campus. While four hundred dollars may not seem like a big
difference after a while, four hundred dollars can accumulate into a lot of money. Apart from tuition
one can also save on other things like gasoline and parking fees. Since the educating is taking place
online, the only thing needed is internet; there is no need to buy gasoline since one

Building an Off Road Vehicle from Scratch
Building an off road vehicle from scratch is a difficult process. It consists of welding, fabricating
brackets and mounts, and aligning all of the parts to work with each other. Building this vehicle is
going to be a learning experience for me. I am new to welding and I am new to designing a vehicle
like this. The following paragraphs show the different types of welding, the safety gear used for
welding, the tools involved in my project, and the complex machines I used to complete my off road
vehicle.
The definition of welding is a process where two or more pieces of metal are fastened together by the
use of heat and pressure. The welder I am using is a Miller 350p MIG. This welder has three processes
it can do: MIG welding, pulsed MIG and flux cored MIG welding. MIG welding works by forming
one droplet of molten metal at the end of the electrode poss the arc and into the puddle. Pulsed MIG
welding is a non contact transfer method between the electrode and the weld puddle. This means that
the electrode never touches the puddle. This is accomplished through high speed manipulation of the
electrical output of the welding machine. It is designed to be a spatterless process. It runs at a lower
heat input than a spray or globular transfer method.er pulse. Then, the right amount of current is added
to push that one droplet acr A weld is only as strong as your thickest metal you are welding

The Impact of Country Attributes on Country Images
THE IMPACT OF COUNTRY ATTRIBUTES ON STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM AND TOURISM
DESTINATION PURCHASING DECISIONS ABSTRACT Place branding has become a very
competitive arena. Despite the interest of researchers and practitioners, the segment of study abroad
programs has received limited attention in the literature review. According to the 2008 Global

47). The challenge is so great and the stakes so high that governments need to work in concern with
business interests and academic researchers to maximize the chances for success. Gertner and Kotler
(2004) investigated how notions about a place are formed in the consumer s mind. The authors affirm:
Country images, or knowledge structures related to places, or place schemata, are commonly used as
short cuts for information processing and consumer decision heuristics (Kotler Gertner, 2002, p. 251).
Govers and Go (2003) argue that the image of a tourist destination is composed of distinct attributes; it
is these that tourists consider while evaluating a destination. More than 80% of the destination image
studies conducted from 1973 to 2000 used lists of attributes, in structured questionnaires, to
operationalize destination image (Pike, 2003). In general, scholars believe that people s image toward
a destination is the result of a combination of particular beliefs or attributes. Thus, scholars have tried
to conceptualize destination branding with more accuracy by using structured and unstructured
research methods to measure destination image. Unstructured research methods include the use of
photos and/or open ended questions, while structured methods used self response questionnaires with
lists of destination attributes. Two types of attributes surfaced in earlier studies about destination
image: those that were generally

Essay On College Is Not Worth A Degree
College, Is it worth it?
To most people college is their goal at succeeding in life. Whether you get a scholarship or pay
yourself, college is expensive. To some it is a waste of time and money due to the fact that, graduates
are not getting their money s worth in their degree, they are burdened by student loans, and their
degree does not guarantee them a job. With that and a growing tuition rate, most people can t afford a
higher education. College is simply not worth the cost anymore.
With the rise in minimum wage nationwide, things cost a lot more. That doesn t mean you have
$42,500 to pay for college yearly,(CNBC 2015). That s a lot of money if you re not working. Even
state colleges are charging $19,000(CNBC 2015). And considering you re going to need a loan, That s
going to add to our nationwide student loan debt of 1.2Trillion,(CNBC 2015). But due to the fact that
you could earn enough money to pay back all that debt, it is still appealing to most people. The thing
is going to college is a lot like gambling. You go hoping that you can get your degree, and earn more
later on. But like gambling, you can lose everything. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is proven that taking out any loan in college reduce the student s experience in school (npr 2015).
What s more interesting is that less than 20% who took out a loan felt that it was worth it ( npr 2015).
In taking out loans you would need some time to pay them. The standard repayment plan for federal
student loans is 10 year s (us news 2014). But the average bachelor degree holder takes 21 years to
pay off (us news 2014), That is 11 more years than planned. Assuming that students went to college at
the age of 19, they would be 44 years old when they finished paying back their student loans. And if
they file for bankruptcy in that 21 year period, they still have to pay off those

(11)
Situation: In this passage, he just found his wife after she overdosed. He was looking at her and
describing how her face was white by saying it was like a snow covered island .
Importance: This passage is important to the book because it is a big scene in the book. It is significant
because it shows how he is not really surprised it happened, almost like it happens often.
Analysis: I feel like this passage is worthy of discussion because it is a heavy topic. It impacts the
story because it sets the mood and how the life in this world is. It shows that this type of thing happens
often. It reveals that Mildred is unhappy with her life. I can understand what type of person she is and
I can see how Montag is not really in love with her.
Entry 2:
Passage: Are you happy? she said.
Am I what? he cried.
But she was gone running in the moonlight. Her front door shut gently.
Happy! Of all the nonsense. He stopped laughing.(7 8)
Situation: In this part of the book, Clarisse asked Montag if he was happy. He answered happy,
however he started to think if he really was happy. This made him start to wonder if he really was
happy.
Importance: This passage is important because it s when Montag starts to really wonder if he is
actually happy with his life. It leads him to think throughout the book whether or not he is actually
happy.

Do We Have Control Over Own Fate Research Paper
Do we have complete control over own fate? An individual might ask. In my opinion, one has control
over their own fate. A person determines what their fut6ure will be like by making your own
decisions. A person determines whether one was to eat healthy or junk food, to exercise or to be lazy,
to have a positive attitude or a bad attitude. In my opinion, the only thing in life that one truly has full
power over is ourselves. It s the only us who holds that power, no one else. At times it may seem as
though someone or something has taken over and is dictating our actions. One must remember that it
was our choice in the first place to give that power up and it is ours to take back as well. The outcome

It is our lie, every choice or decision that we make has an impact on our fate. Every decision has a
consequence; good or bad. One can only make own choices if one takes the actions to do so. If one

it okay for others to do so with that one s fate. We are in control of our fate, by our daily actions. It is

do whatever they want with it. Fate lays out a path like a map and we choose to make choices to bend
the path and to go one way or the other in order to map our future. Fate has options, but we make the

Kipling s Feelings About The Government
Kipling in his writing shows several hints about how he feels about the government; the first obvious
notice is this, The politics of Loaferdom that sees things from the underside where the lath and plaster
is not smoothed off. He s hinting at the connotation that there are imperfections within the system that
some can see. Kiplings narrative not only shows a personal opinion, but also what some people would
contradict him with. Take Peachey and Dravot for instance, who one not only said in a connotative
way that he believes in is King, I greatly fear that my King is dead, and if I want a crown I must go
and hunt it for myself. This character within the story showed a persona of some people and how they

This is a desperate hyperbole of a sentence, to threaten the possibility of someone being cut to pieces,

different way of living.
Trudging back to what the opinion is on different classes, later in the story the main character
addresses the different people that come into the newspaper building, every dissolute ruffian that ever
tramped the Grand Trunk Road makes it his business to ask for employment as a proof reader. He does
not believe people are entitled, let alone one s that he would consider undermining or ruffian in nature.

Summary Of The Phantom Menace By Padme Amidale
In 1999, The Phantom Menace was released into theaters. The beginning of the saga was brought to
understand where the original trilogy s villain origin story came from and where the famous twins
Luke and Leia came from. Leia stole the hearts of many in the original trilogy and it was now her
mother s turn to take the spotlight. Many did not welcome her character with open arms and rejected
her. She was the young naïve queen with a crazy fashion sense who had a crush on a nine year old
boy. At a very young age, Padme was interested in politics which happens to be a male dominated
career. Fourteen year old Padme Amidala was elected queen of Naboo. While many would call her
naïve, the planet elected the young for their purity and believed age brought corruption. Age could
have brought naivety, but Padme had proven herself a leader her people trusted that once her second
term ended they wanted her to continue leading the planet. In episode I, Amidala deals with the
struggle of the Trade Federation who wants the planet to surrender to them while they are controlled
by Darth Sidious. It was a plan to gain control over the galaxy with easier access since the young can
be easily influenced. Amidala refused that easy access over her planet from the Trade Federation. She
is level headed to not directly take action for war but to persuade the senate for a plead of help. When
the escape to Coruscant is delayed, she takes the opportunity to widen her knowledge about the planet

The ISO 14001:1996 implementation process is extremely lengthy and organizational culture plays an

Causes Of The Coercive Acts
The Coercive Acts was formed by the British Parliament to punish the Americans in Boston,
Massachusetts, for the destroying the tea of the East India Company. The British needed money so
they taxed the Americans to help them get money for the French and Indian War. This outraged the
colonist because they didn t like being taxed without being represented. The colonist wore Native
Americans attire and dumped the bags of tea into the Boston Harbor. The British viewed the
retaliation of the Americans as disrespectful. The British Parliament passed several laws that angered
Americans, and they believed those rights are unbearable to follow. The Coercive Acts leads to the
American Revolution, and the Americans believe that British Parliament disregarded their rights as
people with natural rights. The first act that was passed by the Parliament was the Boston Port Act. It
was passed in March of 1774, it stopped all shipping into or out of the port of Boston until payment
was received for the tea ruined in the Boston Tea Party and the tax that was due on it ( Intolerable Acts
). The act was to punish those who were involved in the Boston Tea Party. The ports were so heavily
guarded that people could not give feed their horses hay from Charlestown, Massachusetts. The city of
Boston began to suffer economically, because they could not make money from exporting goods. The
king sent an army to make sure the rule was enforced. This showed many Americans that the king is

Comparison Of Guinevere And The Wife Of Bath
The wife of baths Yale by Geoffrey Chaucer depicts the secret life of a well educated widow and her
desire to lust and love with many and all men to her likings . The second tail is from a Morte D Arthur,
by Thomas Malory. In this story Arthurs wife Queen Guinevere also shares lustrous characteristics as
the wife of bath. Both these ladies share an acquired taste for forbidden love that is not socially
acceptable. During the times of knights and crusades, adultery and unfaithfulness wasn t committed
like now or even performed, because no law was higher than the church and such actions were a sin.
The actions of the secondary characters to the main characters creates conflict cause by these women s
actions which these stories compose of the secret love between and sir Lancelot, and the wife s pursuit
of pleasure. In the wife of baths tale and la Mort d Arthur the leading plot of both these stories is
conceived by the wife and Guinevere s lust and pursuit of love and happiness.
The wife of baths tale takes place during a pilgrimage in the mid 14()0s, during such a time when not
all women were ladies but being polite, noble and kind was fundamental at the time of this stories
portrayment. The wife of bath s tale depicts a not so spoken element of a widowed women that s in an

The Invention Of An Innocent Device
An innocent device that started out just a decade ago as a simple entertainment gadget, the camera
phone has evolved into one of the most widely used item into the daily lives of all the people of the

back of the cellphone, a far cry from what its inventors had first envisioned it was going to do.
Together with social media, the outgrowth of common people reporting events of their daily lives has
become a major source of news and information with no sign of stopping.
Today it s hardly a secret that all news sources big or small depend on this camera wielding citizen as
a major source of information. Top news outlets rely on these citizens journalists with their armature

It is inevitable that as camera phone devices become cheaper and wide spread, local people at the

only going to increase. Thus the question of whether it is safe for people taking the pictures put them

Who Killed Osama Bin Laden
Yes, the mission killing Osama bin Laden did bring justice to many americans, but did it really have a
positive effect on the war against al Qaeda? The planning of the mission started in approximately
2007, and bin Laden was not killed until May 2, 2011. Since the mission, al Qaeda control has spread,
and classified information has been released regarding the mission. The mission killing bin Laden has
positively and negatively affect America and al Qaeda. In 2007, United States intelligence uncovers
the name of one of bin Laden s most trusted couriers. From there, intelligence sources worked to
identify the area of pakistan where the courier was living. U.S. intelligence leads to find the home of
the courier and his family. They suggest that this could be bin Laden due to the fact that the family
should not legitimately be able to afford an estate as this one. Other reasons such as the security of the
compound pushes the cia to believe that bin Laden may be living there. Then in February 2011, U.S.
officials consider the evidence strong enough to begin planning a mission. By March 14, 2011, the
first of five NSC (National Security Council) meetings are held to discuss the operation. Meetings are

(2) Competition With Managers from C3 Presents at the helm of BDO the event can now excel in
getting big name headliners at better prices and also reduce the risks of being out bid by other festivals
such as Soundwave and Future Music. This is because of C3 s buying power and contacts. C3 can use
past contacts from Lollapalooza to invite headline shows from their American festival to also tour as

The Ancient Civilization
The ancient Maya civilisation has generated great interest in many academic scholars and scientists,
due to the phenomenon which saw one of the most dramatic civilisation collapses in recorded history,
during what has been referred to as the Terminal Classic Period A.D. ∼700 to 950 (Haug et al, 2003).
Interestingly, the ancient civilisation has been characterised by its collapse in the 9th century, perhaps
even more so than its remarkable accomplishments, such as: creating vast hierarchical and political
structures, architecture and symbolic artwork (Masson, 2012). The Maya empire comprised of
indigenous populations, who were situated in North America, and inhabited southern present day
Mexico, Belize, El Salvador, Houndras and the semi tropical lowland environment of Guatemala
(Faust, 2001). The Maya collapse is an incredibly controversial topic, which is still debated in society
today. Many substantial arguments have been placed to explain the fundamental cause of collapse,
especially the downfall of the Maya lowland areas of the Yucatán peninsular region, which was
arguably affected the most significantly. Consequently, this essay will examine the key hypotheses
presented for the reasoning behind the collapse of the ancient Maya. Focusing on: drought and
whether its cause was due to natural climatic changes or anthropogenic forcing, social factors such as,
disease and war, and finally political and cultural issues, which may have led to the Maya demise.

Forecasting Best Practices
Forecasting Best Practices
Effective demand planning and sales forecasting across the supply chain can bring a host of benefits.
Specifically, it can help improve labor productivity, reduce head count, cut inventories, and speed up
production flows, and increase revenues and profits. Edward J. Marien
To find the best practices for forecasting, our team researched many cases of forecasting success, and

Sara Lee
Sara Lee has also seen improvements thanks to an updated forecasting system. Professional demand
planners and updated software tools has allowed them to progress. Previously, marketing had control
of sales and financial forecasts and little attention was paid to them. Therefore, high amounts of safety
stock and high amounts of stockouts ensued. By developing a demand planning group Sara Lee was
able to get the appropriate people resources needed for good forecasting. They also were careful not to
involve new technology that would disrupt the process already in place. With the new technology and
demand planners in place, the company was able to get inputs from product managers and field sales
people. With their incoming data automatically integrated into the demand planning software, they can
forecast from the SKU level up to the family level. Field sales people are now being asked to forecast
for the next four months for the largest customer because they have immediate access to the people
and therefore, the best view of the marketplace. Forecast accuracy is up approximately 51%, and
perfect order fill rates are in around 93%. Continuous improvements are now much easier to attain as
they now have good metrics and can see current trends. Scotts

The United States Department Of Agriculture Essay
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) administers food assistance programs that help
provide food for low to no income families. It is their goal to increase food security and reduce hunger
by increasing access to food, a healthful diet, and nutrition education for low income Americans
(Caswell, 2013, para. 1). Some of the current nutrition assistance programs include the Supplemental
Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women,
Infants, and Children (WIC) (Caswell, 2013, para. 1). SNAP will be the primary nutrition assistance
program of the paper at hand. No matter how morally good it is to try to help reduce hunger and
increase food security within the United States, there are still many questions regarding issues with
SNAP. This paper will be discussing why there is such a strong support for the program, how it helps
the United States as a whole, problems with the program, and why some people are against SNAP.
The modern program was established as part of the War on Poverty in the 1960s but has undergone
mass changed since then (Edin, 2014). One being that the government gives out electronic debit cards,
rather than stamps, for buying food. Since 2008, the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program has

Age Of Cheese Research Paper
What effect does the type of cheese have on mold growth? Cheese is an important ingredient which
many families across North America use in their foods to add a tasteful kick. It contains many
proteins, vitamins and minerals which are essential for growing children and many elderly. Cheese
comes in various shapes and sizes, such as Camembert, Roquefort, Mozzarella, and many more.
However, it turns out that not only humans like to consume it, but bacteria such as fungi, can develop
on cheese and cause it to decay and putrefy. Mold is a fungus that grows in the form of multicellular
filaments called hyphae. Spores are the single celled reproductive unit within bacteria, fungi, and
algae colonies which can rapidly help the mold extend a greater distance on a surface. The growth of
hyphae on a surface can cause a spoiled appearance with discoloration on foods for instance, the most

written about extensively in the bible, this paper does not use the bible as part of the research process,
simply due to the fact that outside of the religion of Christianity, the bible is thought of as an historical
book filled with fables and mythology. The research reflected in this paper shows the similarities of
the Egyptians and Babylonians in religious practices, social strata, and economies. The economies of
both Egypt and Babylon are similar in that both kingdoms sit on the bank of a mighty river. There are
also a great many similarities in religion, both kingdoms built temples, worshiped mythical gods, and

Religion and Blasphemy Ideology
Chapter 9 Question 2
Trace the origin of the law of blasphemy and explain the relevance or otherwise of this law
Introduction
Blasphemy is the act of insulting or showing open disrespect of God through display of inappropriate
behavior towards holy personages, religious artifacts, customs and beliefs. The word blasphemy came
via Middle English blasfemen, from which the English term blame came into existence
(Wikipedia.com n.d). Blasphemy is regarded as an offense against the community to varying degrees,
depending on the extent of the identification of a religion with the society at large or the government.
Blasphemy has been a crime in many religions and cultures, wherever there is something sacred to

In New Testament times, it was this Old Testament law against blasphemy that the Scribes, Pharisees,
Chief Priests and rulers of the people used in order to condemn anyone who spoke out against the
corruption of their religious order (Truth in history, n.d).
There was one such case in Australia back in 1871 when William Lorando Jones was prosecuted for
claiming that the Bible was the most immoral book that ever has been published and not a fit book for
any female to read , and that the children of Israel murdered the Egyptians, and that Elisha murdered a
number of priests of Baal by his God s authority and that Moses saved 40,000 Midianitish women to
make them prostitute to his soldiers (Arnold, 2008). Mr. Jones had been reading the Old Testament
and in retrospect his claims echo comments made by biblical scholars since at least the 1850s. Jones
was preaching blasphemous verse to the local masses in suburban Parramatta, Sydney and was
convicted with a £100 fine. The case of The Queen against William Lorando Jones proved the
churches fear of Blasphemy among the common people due to its potential to orientate the lesser
educated community against the state. From a media sociological perspective, the church feared that
the community would become an active audience in making choices about what

factual, verified research. Didn t put stock into those theories concerning cats and their supernatural
abilities, no matter how many of those articles she d read aloud to Cat late at night over a mug of tea
and laughter. That ten minutes of missed sleep became her reality. That dream that made no sense
became her nightly companion... and it showed. Visible on her features, carved into those creases and
worn under her eyes like purple badges of horror. Testament to the way in which her life was slowly
circling down that drain of her own psychosis. It also, she had learned, made her far more prone to
poetry and prose in her own mind. Neither of which helped her with the actual problem, or even
helped to field those questions which her co workers started asking. Concerning those bags under her
eyes. Her obvious caffeine dependency. Lack of a social life. At least the last one wasn t entirely new.
It was hard to make friends when you were questioning their very motive for trying to be one to you.
Never seemed genuine, and her paranoia almost always made its play for her attention should she

Pride And Prejudice Gender Expectations
The novel Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen depicts a social structure in which there are clear gender
expectations. These gender expectations control and restrict the lives of both genders, most notably
women. In. Austen s world, women have few opportunities to support themselves, and have high
expectations attributed to them. Men were held to similar standards. Upper and middle class men were
expected to add to their families wealth, be charming, and eventually marry. Deviation from these
spoken and unspoken rules, such as Lydia and Wickham s elopement, would result in becoming a
social pariah. In Pride and Prejudice , the characters of Elizabeth Bennet, her sister Lydia, and Mr.
Darcy challenge the aforementioned gender roles put in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, Elizabeth s active nature and her refusal to be passive, You give your opinion very
decidedly for a woman of your age (Austen 159), overshadow the traditional qualities she possesses.
Her personality makes her very disagreeable to Lady Catherine and Mr. Bingley s sisters. When Jane
falls ill, Elizabeth walks miles through the mud to visit Netherfield. Upon arriving, Elizabeth shocks
the Bingley sisters, I shall never forget her appearance this morning. She looked almost wild. (Austen
35). Lady Catherine also plays a role in contrasting Elizabeth with more traditional women of the
time. The confrontation between the two at Longbourn shows Elizabeth s willingness to stand up for
herself against people of higher social standing, `I have said no such thing. I am only resolved to act in
that manner, which will, in my own opinion, constitute my happiness, without reference to you, or to
any person so wholly unconnected with me. (Austen 332). Austen s use of a limited social structure
highlights the clear message about the expectations of women in Regency England and Elizabeth s
refusal to

Examples Of Idealism Biff Loman
Idealism is essentially putting one s hopes and dreams on the line in order for the possibility of it
being achieved. However, idealism without truth is essentially an individual reaching goals that are
unrealistic, and unattainable. The truth is a matter of the individual s perspective because the truth is
their reality in direct correlation to their surrounding reality. The truth of an individual without the
optimistic idealism is life without hope, and only pessimistic views to support it. Therefore, there
needs to be a balance in order for an individual to become and maintain healthy both superficially and
internally. The superficial is in response to the ideals that one strives for, and the internal is in
response to the truth being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the start when his sons were in high school, he already didn t have a sense of balance between
his ideals and truth. Thereby, foreshadowing the magnitude of his struggle he will have to face and
endure in the years to come. This imbalance is apparent through how he views himself superficially
and internally. Towards how he views himself superficially, he is aiming to live up to the ideals of the
American dream. The ideals of being successful, and well liked by everyone. However, his ideals are
misconstrued indefinitely when compared to his truth. He boasted to his sons that he is a successful
businessman and that one day he will make a business of his own. However, it s revealed shortly after
that this is not the case in the slightest. We witness his conversation with his wife Linda, and in that
moment, it s revealed that he is having trouble paying the bills towards the house, car, and appliances.
In regards toward his ideal of being well liked, it is as well misconstrued to an immense degree. He as
well boasted to his sons that he is well liked and only those well liked are successful. However, that is
clearly irrelevant towards himself. We realize the disillusion he is living in, when he tells Linda that
those at his work do not like him and, in fact, he is made into a laughing stock at work. This
imbalance of having his ideals clash

  • 2. Analysis Of Over The Garden Wall Over the Garden Wall is a children s cartoon series with a rather dark subject: a visit to the afterlife. The show focuses on two brothers, Wirt and Greg. Unaware of their true plight, Wirt and Greg navigate their way through unfamiliar territory in search of a way home, and meet other unusual characters along the way. The show resembles Dante s own trip to the afterlife in many ways. Over the Garden Wall alludes to Dante s Commedia through its settings, the characters, and the aspects that the two versions of the afterlife share, all of which implies that the series is based loosely on Dante s travels in his Commedia. In the opening scene of the show, Wirt and Greg are lost in a forest with no recollection of how they came to be there. This is very similar to the first canto of Inferno, in which Dante is also lost in a dark wood . The brothers are pursued by a monstrous dog when they first arrive, akin to how Dante is accosted by the three beasts in Limbo shortly after appearing there. Later in the show, we come to find out the place where Wirt and Greg have ended up is referred to as The Unknown . The Unknown is separated into different regions, much like how the Commedia s realms have different areas, with various trials to be overcome in each section. In the last episode of the show, it is apparent that The Unknown is a purgatory like afterlife, and that the brothers journey to find their home has actually been them searching for a way back the land of the living. ... I m getting anxious as i hear a car pull up outside crunching on the black gravel. I rush to the window and see my cousins step out of the car, I rush to the door to greet them with a big smile on my face. It is our annual family Christmas party and my cousins one a year older than me and one younger rush to give me a big hug at the door. Well hello there, come on in! shouts my grandma excitedly. She gives them all kisses on the cheek and then my cousins and I run upstairs to the kitchen, away from all the loud noise. We all have three big grins on our faces when my brother comes in from the living room. He also is smiling and takes ashton in to the garage to play with the legos. Lessons are given, along with assignments; assignments are then completed and submitted through the internet. This type of education is an alternative to traditional education. While distance education has its defects overall, it s a great way to start or finish post secondary education. Nevertheless, distance education can help people who decide to take this step. It consists of welding, fabricating brackets and mounts, and aligning all of the parts to work with each other. Building this vehicle is going to be a learning experience for me. I am new to welding and I am new to designing a vehicle like this. The following paragraphs show the different types of welding, the safety gear used for welding, the tools involved in my project, and the complex machines I used to complete my off road vehicle. The definition of welding is a process where two or more pieces of metal are fastened together by the use of heat and pressure. The welder I am using is a Miller 350p MIG. This welder has three processes it can do: MIG welding, pulsed MIG and flux cored MIG welding. MIG welding works by forming one droplet of molten metal at the end of the electrode poss the arc and into the puddle. Pulsed MIG welding is a non contact transfer method between the electrode and the weld puddle. This means that the electrode never touches the puddle. This is accomplished through high speed manipulation of the electrical output of the welding machine. It is designed to be a spatterless process. It runs at a lower heat input than a spray or globular transfer method.er pulse. The challenge is so great and the stakes so high that governments need to work in concern with business interests and academic researchers to maximize the chances for success. The authors affirm: Country images, or knowledge structures related to places, or place schemata, are commonly used as short cuts for information processing and consumer decision heuristics (Kotler Gertner, 2002, p. 251). Govers and Go (2003) argue that the image of a tourist destination is composed of distinct attributes; it is these that tourists consider while evaluating a destination. More than 80% of the destination image studies conducted from 1973 to 2000 used lists of attributes, in structured questionnaires, to operationalize destination image (Pike, 2003). In general, scholars believe that people s image toward a destination is the result of a combination of particular beliefs or attributes. Thus, scholars have tried to conceptualize destination branding with more accuracy by using structured and unstructured research methods to measure destination image. Unstructured research methods include the use of photos and/or open ended questions, while structured methods used self response questionnaires with lists of destination attributes. Comparison Of Guinevere And The Wife Of Bath The wife of baths Yale by Geoffrey Chaucer depicts the secret life of a well educated widow and her desire to lust and love with many and all men to her likings . The second tail is from a Morte D Arthur, by Thomas Malory. In this story Arthurs wife Queen Guinevere also shares lustrous characteristics as the wife of bath. Both these ladies share an acquired taste for forbidden love that is not socially acceptable. During the times of knights and crusades, adultery and unfaithfulness wasn t committed like now or even performed, because no law was higher than the church and such actions were a sin. The planning of the mission started in approximately 2007, and bin Laden was not killed until May 2, 2011. Since the mission, al Qaeda control has spread, and classified information has been released regarding the mission. The mission killing bin Laden has positively and negatively affect America and al Qaeda. In 2007, United States intelligence uncovers the name of one of bin Laden s most trusted couriers. From there, intelligence sources worked to identify the area of pakistan where the courier was living. U.S. intelligence leads to find the home of the courier and his family. They suggest that this could be bin Laden due to the fact that the family should not legitimately be able to afford an estate as this one. Other reasons such as the security of the compound pushes the cia to believe that bin Laden may be living there. Then in February 2011, U.S. officials consider the evidence strong enough to begin planning a mission. The Ancient Civilization The ancient Maya civilisation has generated great interest in many academic scholars and scientists, due to the phenomenon which saw one of the most dramatic civilisation collapses in recorded history, during what has been referred to as the Terminal Classic Period A.D. ∼700 to 950 (Haug et al, 2003). Interestingly, the ancient civilisation has been characterised by its collapse in the 9th century, perhaps even more so than its remarkable accomplishments, such as: creating vast hierarchical and political structures, architecture and symbolic artwork (Masson, 2012). The Maya empire comprised of indigenous populations, who were situated in North America, and inhabited southern present day Mexico, Belize, El Salvador, Houndras and the semi tropical lowland environment of Guatemala (Faust, 2001). The Maya collapse is an incredibly controversial topic, which is still debated in society today. Many substantial arguments have been placed to explain the fundamental cause of collapse, especially the downfall of the Maya lowland areas of the Yucatán peninsular region, which was arguably affected the most significantly. Consequently, this essay will examine the key hypotheses presented for the reasoning behind the collapse of the ancient Maya. Focusing on: drought and whether its cause was due to natural climatic changes or anthropogenic forcing, social factors such as, disease and war, and finally political and cultural issues, which may have led to the Maya demise. Previously, marketing had control of sales and financial forecasts and little attention was paid to them. Therefore, high amounts of safety stock and high amounts of stockouts ensued. By developing a demand planning group Sara Lee was able to get the appropriate people resources needed for good forecasting. They also were careful not to involve new technology that would disrupt the process already in place. With the new technology and demand planners in place, the company was able to get inputs from product managers and field sales people.
