Theory of Constraints Essay
What is the Theory of Constraints?
The Theory of Constraints is an organizational change method that is focused on profit improvement.
The essential concept of TOC is that every organization must have at least one constraint. A constraint
is any factor that limits the organization from getting more of whatever it strives for, which is usually
profit. The Goal focuses on constraints as bottleneck processes in a job shop manufacturing
organization. However, many non manufacturing constraints exist, such as market demand, or a sales
department s ability to translate market demand into orders.
The Theory of Constraints defines a set of tools that change agents can use to manage constraints,
thereby increasing profits. Most businesses can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Goldratt advocates that all improvement opportunities should be prioritized by their effect on the three
measures, especially Throughput, for which the only limit on how high it can be increased is market
size.
How Does Lean Thinking Compare to the Theory of Constraints?
Lean thinking is an organizational change method that is also implemented with the objective of
increasing profit. Lean thinking originated in Japan, and is best exemplified by the Toyota Production
System. Constraints placed on the Japanese manufacturing industry after the second world war lead
Taiichi Ohno of Toyota to pioneer a new type of production system that was so different, and so much
better, than mass production, as to warrant a new type manufacturing. Lean production is a method of
organizing production using half the effort, space, inventory, and product development time compared
with mass production. It also achieves fewer defects, and larger product variety. These improvements
should result in increased sales, which is the key to re deploying freed up resources. Lean thinking
codified and expanded upon the Toyota Production System to include non manufacturing
organizations, as well as product development efforts.
The objective of lean thinking, as with TOC, is to increase profit. This is

My Accomplishment Analysis
When most people think of an accomplishment that brought them into adulthood, many would think
of their first job, going to college, or even simply receiving good grades in school. For me, my
accomplishment has been a work in progress for the last six years. Sports have always been a big part
of my life and how I live it. I started running track in 6th grade and have had a strange bond with the
sport ever since. A normal person after running their heart out for 50 seconds around the track would
naturally want to rollover and puke, but it gives me a feeling inside that I can not put into words.
When I first started running track in 6th grade, my times for the 400 meter dash were just over a
minute long. Moving on to freshman year I decided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Things had changed from a year ago and personally I thought I could beat the record by putting in the
time even when track wasn t in season. Even though my mind thought I could beat the record, it
stayed to myself so no one knew about my ridiculous dream. As junior year started, I could see myself
getting stronger and faster. Then spring came and track started up again, and that same number, 48.9
seconds, was posted in the locker room. By the last meet of the year, my personal best was 50
seconds. This may sound impressive to someone who knows where I started, but to me it was a
disappointment because I had missed my goal for the year by a second. Through this disappointment, I
saw how much I had achieved in the last three years and got the extraordinary chance to run in the
Nebraska State Track meet on our team s 4x400 relay. The accomplishments I have slowly achieved
over the last three years have showed me that if you work hard enough at a goal, you can achieve it
with time. I have one last season of running track and I will give my all to have my name posted on
the board so for years to come other kids trying to become something have a goal they can

St Paul Cathedral Research Paper
Main Body #3: Next in this paragraph I will be discussing the history of St. Paul Cathedral. This
building has a long history events starting in 1561.Before the Great Fire the St. Paul s Cathedral was
called the old St. Paul s , one of the largest Christian cathedrals in Europe. This 19th century (middle
ages) building was 178 meters long, and 149 meters high, till it was struck in 1561 by lightning. The
Greek cross design was made after the London Great Fire. Wren started to be more smart and
thoughtful between the 16th to 17th century of English cathedral design. The great model was

American in Paris, Again By ERIC WILSON ALEXANDER WANG may be the savviest designer of
his generation. At 28, he is the rising star who built a global multimillion dollar business in less than a
decade, opened his own stores in New York and Beijing and, last week, landed a plum job at a
prestigious label in Paris, when he was named the creative director of Balenciaga. Some see Mr. Wang

the final decision on the hiring of designers, approved. We re not asking him to be an entrepreneur,
Ms. Guichot said. But luxury fashion is a business with some rules, and he understood that very early
in his career, without ever compromising the creativity. Among the observations made on the hiring of
Mr. Wang, who has a strong accessories business, having astutely positioned his handbags at the
lowest end of the luxury category, is that PPR was looking for its own version of what Mr. Jacobs
brought to Louis Vuitton. There were some feelings after what happened with John Galliano at Dior
that the brands were promoting the individual designers too much, the veteran consultant Robert
Burke said. Now they re thinking, what is it going to take to keep a brand relevant and alive? Linda
Fargo, the fashion director for Bergdorf Goodman, said there are real design chops in Mr. Wang s
collections. Asked about the complaints that he copies, she said: I hands down do not agree with that. I
think he s incredibly original. MR. WANG grew up in California. His parents, who had emigrated
from China, had a successful plastics manufacturing business that they later moved to Shanghai.

Characteristics Of Anglo Saxon Heroic Period
The Heroic Era
The Anglo Saxon Period
Old English
In every era, of course there are certain areas that defines the way of living of people on their specific
time period. Some of these are the style of government, the roles of each gender, the conduct of
people, military, language, social and/or economic hierarchy, and more. The Anglo Saxon Era is no
exception. In the Anglo Saxon Period, the most distinguishing areas would be the Style of
Government, the Roles of Men and Women and the Language that they use.
The Anglo Saxon, these are Germans who went to Britain after the fall of the Roman Empire. They
became the masters of the land and the had kept the legacy of the Romans. They brought Christianity
to Britain that most natives refuse to believe in but eventually converted to be Christians.

Living in this era is the total opposite of the way of living today. In those times, the perspective of
being famous or good is quite different but they would meet up in one specific area, being generous.
The differences would be that you should be able to conquer and defeat certain things or people that
endangers the safety of your tribe. In this time, bravery, truth, honor, loyalty and duty, hospitality and
perseverance are some of the Anglo Saxon values. Anglo Saxon, as illustrated by the literary text
named Beowulf, the times were barbaric and would require the use of weapons in order to bravely
defend the land. in this time, the concept of hero is basically what most of the people wanted to be.
They follow the Heroic Code that is consisted of what traits should people have in order to be
perceived as a hero. Unlike today, in order for you to be recognized you should have the good attitude
that everyone would like and the

Hester as an Imperfect Heroine
The Scarlet Letter, a story of Hester Prynne and her paramour, Reverend Dimmesdale, and her
malicious husband in pursuit for revenge, Roger Chillingworth. The novel begins in the Puritan
society in Boston, Massachusetts, during the 1640 s. The town first ostracizes Hester because of their
strong religious beliefs. Hester is then faced with an immense struggle against the town and Roger
Chillingworth. Through this struggle she is developed into a heroine, or a woman admired for her
courage, achievements, or noble qualities; although she is not the perfect heroine because she starts
her journey at the lowest point in Puritan society, in sin. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter,
Hester Prynne overcomes the Puritan community and Roger Chillingworth to defy adversity and
become a heroine whom everyone to admire.
Even though the Puritan society aims to discourage Hester, she finds a way to display her pride and
grace. To begin, Hester makes her way out of jail exhibiting her dignity when appearing with the
scarlet letter before the town: On the breast of her gown, in fine red cloth surrounded with an elaborate
embroidery and fantastic flourishes of gold thread, appeared the letter A. It was so artistically done,
and with so much fertility and gorgeous luxuriance of fancy, that it had all the effect of a last and
fitting decoration to the apparel which she wore... (37).

Innovative Technologies during the Civil War
Throughout the first half of the nineteenth century, there were many new inventions, and innovative
technologies that played a major role in the civil war. At the time of the Civil War, many of the
newfound war weapons in the Union proved essential for its victory. The new weapons showed a great
change in the technological world. During the time of the Civil war, Pistols, and other basic handheld,
guns were very popular, for a soldier to have. It was known for its capability of hitting a target from a
short distance. Before people started changing the way weapons were, a small handheld pistol gun,
that held one bullet, was considered, the best before, innovations, were performed. infantry soldiers
would use muskets with one bullet at a time, shooting as far as 250 yards. However, if exact persistent
location for the bullet to hit is needed, 80 yards would be the furthest distance to shoot from. If a
soldier had a pistol as his main weapon, commanders, and generals, taught them different war tactics
on getting closer, to your target to be within the 80 yards, with a pistol.
The Colt handgun is a PIstol, ranged from .36 .44 caliber, a steel handheld gun, with nearly the same
distances as a regular musket. The .44 caliber colt handgun could reach about 25 50 yards further in all
aspects, of shooting. The Colt was well known by everyone during the Civil war, and before. Each

Castaway Analysis
In the movie Castaway, Chuck Noland is marooned on a deserted island by himself. He lost everyone
he ever knew and because of that he started to go insane. To cope with this, he created a friend for
himself, helping him keep his sanity and to be less lonely. At times, he lost motivation, and he almost
gave up. Noland learned how to get food, clean water, and make a shelter in the four years he was on
the island, fulfilling his basic needs . Ultimately, the main reason he almost died multiple times while
marooned was because he was alone. Love and belongingness needs are one of the most important
needs for human survival because without human interaction, one could lose their sanity, motivation,
and can become lonely. Some people who follow Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs believe that the basic
needs are the most important needs. Seeing as how the basic needs include food, water, and rest, this
makes sense. Without those essentials, one will die. In the book The Clay Marble by Minfong Ho, in
chapter nine, a young refugee named Dara is walking back to her campsite after being separated from
her family. I noticed an old man looking at me curiously. He was sitting with his own family, holding a
plate of cold rice. I looked at it hungrily, but could not bring myself to ask for any food. Dara is
rejecting asking for food, and yet the only reason she is there in the first place is to find her family.
Dara cannot bear to lose them, and would rather go hungry looking for them than be fully nourished
without them. This shows how much risk people will go through for the ones they love. Dara
wandered back to her campsite, right after it had been bombed, to try and find the people she loved.
Eating, drinking, and sleeping are key human instincts, but on the other hand, so is love. In the article
Homeless turn lives around step by step , in which the topic is a woman who started a running club for
homeless people, On line 36, Anne Mahlum, the founder of the running club, Back On My Feet, state
s: Right above those needs is an innate desire to be recognized, valued, appreciated, loved and cared
for. These desires, just like those of food and shelter, do not become less important as we grow older.

It has been proven that if you work a full time minimum wage job you will still live well below the

could possibly see a decline in the economic welfare of a general segment of the population. President
Trump said in his campaign about illegal immigrants from Mexico that They re bringing drugs. They

from the truth. Many illegal immigrants are looking for better living conditions and to simply to work

Evaluation Of A Clinical Skills Essay
This essay will discuss a clinical skill in which I have become competent in practicing. I will use a
reflective model to discuss how I have achieved the necessary level of competence in my nurse
training programme. The reflective model I have chosen to use is Gibbs model (Gibbs 1988). Gibbs
model of reflection incorporates the following: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion
and an action plan (Gibbs 1988). The model will be applied to the essay to facilitate critical thought,
relating theory to practice where the model allows. Discussion will include the knowledge
underpinning practice and the evidence base for the clinical skill. A conclusion to the essay will then
be given which will discuss my reflection skills, acknowledge my competence and show my personal
and professional development.
The clinical skill I have chosen to reflect on within this essay is the administration of Intramuscular
(IM) injections. I have chosen this as within my first clinical placement this was a widely used method
of drug administration and I became involved in the process of IM injections. I therefore researched
the topic of IM injections and my knowledge within this area developed.
The first stage of Gibbs (1988) model of reflection requires a description of events. I was asked to
administer a drug to a patient via IM injection. I had observed this clinical skill on a variety of
occasions but have not had the chance to administer any IM injection under supervision. On

The first generation (1G) only provided users with voice communication in its second generation (2G)
the service was expanded to voice and data communication in which the system capacity was also
improved. Second generation or 2G wireless technology is also known as Global Systems for Mobile
Communications (GSM) and Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA). The third generation (3G) was
a revolution in the cellular technology the data rates increased immensely from 2G, 3G is also known
as Wideband CDMA (WCDMA) and CDMA 2000. The current cellular technology that are in

Analysis Of Gerard Genette s Glossary Of Poetic Terms
In recent years, the term narratology has often been associated principally with European structuralism
[1], bolstered by the work of Gerard Genette, perhaps one of the most famous narrative theorists.
Rather than other theorists, such as Todorov, who s work on the influence of the protagonist on a
narrative equilibrium has too provided an insight into different forms and varieties of narratives [2],
Genette is more concerned with breaking down the mechanics and processes behind a story, shifting
away from the characters and their respective character arcs. He argues that the principalities behind
explaining narratology exist in the routine in which the story is presented. In simpler terms, his
interest is not in the story itself, but how it is told. [3} In this essay, I will use this as an analytical tool
for taking apart a selected narrative.
Any good author, playwright, or poet will always tell you that forms of literature will always contain a
message. This may be personal, or historical for instance, but underneath the visual and auditory sugar
coat of graphology and literary techniques, there always exists an underlying message to influence and
engage the reader. This could be ambiguous, or easily recognised, or perhaps in between. One
prominent branch of writing subsists in between free verse and poetry, in what is known as Prose .
More specifically, The Glossary of Poetic Terms (2006) [4] states it is a piece of writing which

I am not only trying to change myself on the inside but I also have to change myself on the outside.
Covey (2004) discusses about the four dimensions of renewal that include: the physical, mental,
spiritual, and social/emotional dimensions (p. 300). It is cleansing my spiritual dimension by
meditating with peace or with God, or just rethinking about what my values and goals are in life. It is
renewing my physical dimension by eating the right foods, working out, and taking care of my body.
It is continuing to learn new things and being open to new ideas to renew my mental dimension.
Lastly, it is communicating effectively, synergizing, and creating relationships with people to enhance
my social/emotional dimension. Renewing myself can change my perspective on life, how I perform
at work and at school. It can change my attitude and my confidence in myself. However, I need to
work on the four dimensions in a balanced way. I must retain balance and make sure that I am
working on the renewal of the four dimensions because if I do not have balance, I will have difficulty

Verizon Competitive Analysis
Describe your company s position and ability to compete on analytics.
Verizon, the company that I work for, is most known for its position within the Telecommunications
industry. Within that industry, Verizon definitely has the ability to compete on analytics. As the leader
within the telecommunications industry, we are always looking for better ways to serve our customers
and improve ourselves and using analytical technologies help us keep ahead of our competitors.
Recently, with the acquisitions of AOL and Yahoo, Verizon has looked to branch out into the Content
and Media industry. This even furthers Verizon s ability to compete on analytics because this provides

Verizon started out as Bell Atlantic which you could classify as a Stage 2 organization. When the
company formally became Verizon Communications after its purchase of GTE and after the
establishment of Verizon Wireless through a joint venture with Vodafone, the company started to
transition into stage 3. Verizon s senior management were focused on increasing their network of
coverage, which was their distinctive capability, so they could have an advantage over their
competitors. Now, Verizon needed to find ways to improve their network and with all of the data that
was provided to them from their customers they were able to use analytics to further improve
themselves and stay competitive. I believe Verizon s current status is in stage 4. Senior executives are
committed to using analytics to better utilize the network and better serve our customers. We are in the
process of trying to use analytics to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and streamline those
analytic processes across the company so that everyone is on the same page and we are efficient.
Verizon already uses a good amount of analytical techniques that have helped the company get to the
position that it currently is in today. We are looking to the future and know where we need to go but

Introduction Of Finolex Cables Limited
INTRODUCTION
Finolex Cables Limited (hereinafter referred to as Finolex or the Company ) started as a retail store
selling electrical cables by two brothers P.P Chhabria and K. P Chabbria in July 1945 soon turned into
a manufacturing unit of cables after receiving a sizeable order from the Defence Department in mid
1950 s for wire harnesses for trucks and tanks.
Starting from a small industrial unit in 1956, they at first manufactured PVC insulated cables for the
automobile industry. Finolex brand was born from Fine Flexibles and O with an electric arc across it

Attractive Packaging and Product Display
Most impulse buying occurs because of product display, and attractive packaging plays an important
role in product display (Ghani and Kamal, 2010). Point of purchase decisions heighten the potential
for product packaging to communicate information to consumers and influence product choice
(Clement, 2007). Silayoi and Speece (2007), Venter et al. (2011), Honea and Horsky (2012) stated that
visual packaging is key to gaining consumer in store attention. Visual elements can be related more to
the influential side of decision making like attractiveness which includes of size, shape, graphics.
Graphics can be such as layout, color combination, typography, and product photography. Silayoi and
Speece (2004), suggested that visual package elements play a major role in affecting consumer
purchase decision, especially in low involvement products which is an item that is habitually
purchased and so this requires little effort to decide. The same researchers conducted a free list
research in order to identify the most important food package design attributes and they find out that
the most important for consumers are colour, shape, picture and the design of the label (Ares Deliza

Parental figures in Toni Morrison s Recitatif and Flannery O Connor s The Artificial Nigger use
indoctrination in an attempt to uphold tradition and reinforce racial boundaries. While one adult

Exile In Brave New World
Exile is a subject very few touch upon. Exile is never really spoken about because once you are
alienated by those you once considered friends or family, a gaping hole opens and no one really knows
how to explain it other than just that; a hole that can only be filled with the one place on earth you feel
safe; home. When exiled, a rift opens between the individual that was cast out and their home, and
family and friends. This so called rift that opens between a person and their home is evident in Brave
New World with John s life. John is a white man who is interested in the tribal customs of the Indians,
in this novel called savages , which are very different and looked down upon by the citizens of the
World State society. John s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Malpais people isolate John because he is white and this sets him apart from the Savages. John is
excluded from the rituals and tribal customs of the Malpais people. He is seen as an outcast also
because his mother is viewed as very immoral. On the Savage Reservation John tells Bernard Marx
that he feels neither welcome nor wanted, he says he is alone, always alone. (pg 91) Although John is
exiled, the experience of living on the Reservation is enlightening because he is able to step back and
see how others treat one another. This helps him to develop as a character because he comes from a
life full of hardships and troubling times so he understands what those who are treated poorly feel.
John s attitude toward his mother is extremely protective, which builds their relationship later in the
novel. John s exile came at an early age when he was born. John was born naturally rather than being
hatched at the D.H.C. Natural birth is no longer accepted in the New World so when John is born he is
shipped off to live on the Savage Reservation. Growing up on the Savage Reservation shows John just
how different he is from both the citizens of the World State and the Malpais people. His morals and
beliefs are far from the immoral values that those of the New World have, and his skin color coupled
with how his mother is viewed sets him apart from the

Martin Luther Reflection
Many of the characters throughout Once Upon a Timepiece seem to make poor decisions that affect
the lives of many people, and Luther believed wholeheartedly that people should not feel they deserve
go to hell. Someone like Abigail, who looked foolish at the end of her story, may realize how
inconsiderate and greedy she was being, but that does not mean she should feel that they need to
punish herself or condemn herself to hell. In Luther s case, he hated the idea of indulgences because
he felt that people who actually do commit sin end up paying away the good work of the Lord. But the
indulgences meant that rather than beg for forgiveness and the mercy of God, whoever has confessed
and is contrite and puts alms in the box, as his confessor counsels him, will have all of his sins
forgiven (Pettegree 68). Yet, it is also important to note that Luther did believe in salvation, just
simply as good deeds and prayers rather than money.
Martin Luther in his adolescence truly believed that he could not reach salvation or stand on good
terms with God. The teachings of the Catholic Church seemed to do no good for him, so he took it
upon himself with the help of his father in Christ to study theology at the University of Wittenberg. By
studying and worshiping the scriptures themselves rather than the preaching of the church, he found
himself at peace with God. Similar to Luther, Conrad, whom wore the watch that read may your brief

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Mutual Funds
Introduction Of Mutual Funds A Mutual fund is a trust that pools the savings of a number of investors
who share a common financial goal. The money thus collected is invested by the fund manager in
different types of securities depending upon the objective of the scheme. These could range from
shares to debentures to money market instruments. The income earned through these investments and
the capital appreciations realized by the scheme are shared by its unit holders in proportion to the
number of units owned by the (pro rata). Thus a Mutual fund is the most suitable investment for the
common man as it offers an opportunity to invest in a diversified, professionally managed portfolio at

Typing has some advantages over handwriting, but typing also has some disadvantages. Cursive is
outdated, and typing is more efficient than handwriting in general. However, handwriting has some
benefits over typing. Cursive was a lot more prominent in the past then it is today. According to
Remington Korper, cursive was taught before printing. This made it the main form of writing for

harder to lose if typed and saved on a computer compared to writing on a piece of paper. This makes

and computers are also very easily broken. The act of handwriting helps students (and adults) retain
information more effectively than when keyboarding (Handwriting Debate) Handwriting helps with

in lower test scores. Digital devices may be great learning tools, but they also offer a number of

Airplane of Hope
Dear Mr.Hawkins , my former, history teacher, I know you are set in your idea that the destruction of
the Berlin Wall was the turning point of WWll, I strongly disagree. Even though there were
significant, life changing, humanitarian efforts made by the U.S, the Berlin Airlift was one of the
greatest of these efforts. This was one of the strongest humanitarian efforts made because America
supplied food for the starving people of West Berlin, granted them the gift of hope when there was
nothing left to hope for, and assisted every step of the way until the terrible separation between East
Berlin and West Berlin. When the Soviets took their share of Germany with France, Britain, and the
U.S., the Soviets made the choice to separate Germany into eastern and western divisions. This was
done so that they could extend communism into a war torn Europe. After World War Two, there
wouldn t have been any better timing. The war gave them an open door to start communism all over
again because no one would ve been able to stop whatever came in their path.
The events leading to the Airlift began with Russia s iron fist and persistence to conquer everything.
The Russians prayed that the poverty and a war torn Western Europe would give them the chance to

The Renaissance Era Was A Prosperous Time For Art From
The Renaissance era was a prosperous time for art from the 15th century to 17th century. Europe had
reached the end of the middle ages. The middle age is often defined by characteristics such as martial
order and absolute hierarchy. European countries did not thrive in terms of technology nor have any
advancements in terms of the economy either. The Renaissance period which came after the middle
age completely contrasts its preceding era. A new philosophy that later on came to be known as
humanism was rising. It is therefore necessary to discuss humanism and associated changes to the
European society of the 15th century in order to examine the cause of such a unified movement
towards the regaining of artistic significance in Europe. In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In consideration of the middle age, the general populace did not have the luxury of searching for new
heights in the field of art. The greatest obstacle that the community faced were the outbreak of disease
and war. This resulted in the complete and utter lack of social mobility , that is said to have exerted
with success during the Renaissance era. Without social interaction, artists would not have had the
chance to fully commit towards art. Therefore, it is not the simple fact that patrons had supplied artists
with commissions and resources, but the fact that they had established an environment that cultivated
and encouraged artists to bloom their potential. Art of the Renaissance period is defined by the unique
expression of an individual and their respective artistic features such as posture and emotion. There
was a lot of experimental attempts with new forms and traditional forms of medium. Such an example
is the engraving technique that was widely regarded to be confined by the size of the printing frame

Analysis Of A Song Of Despair By Pablo Neruda
In the poem A Song of Despair Pablo Neruda chronicles the reminiscence of a love between two
characters, with the main speaker s perspective showing the changes between their relationship from a
once fruitful, to a now broken relationship. From this Neruda attempts to showcase the significance of
contrasting imagery to demonstrate the speaker s various emotions felt throughout the experience.
This contrasting imagery specifically develops the reader s understanding of abandonment, sadness,
change, and memory. The significant language features Neruda uses to accomplish this include:
similes, nautical imagery, floral imagery, and apostrophe. Firstly Neruda uses contrasting imagery of
difficulty to represent the speakers troubled relationship. This is presented using diction in the
quotation How terrible and brief my desire of you! How difficult and drunken, how tensed and avid.
From the words terrible and brief the feeling of a short, abysmal experience can be seen. This is paired
with the verb desire which suggests a longing, or wanting for something, subsequently referring to the
sexual desire of the speaker s past relationship . As a desire is typically wanted for, pairing it with a
short, horrible experience shows the significance of contrasting imagery used by Neruda to show the
drastic change of emotions which is a consequence of their troubled relationship. This is continued as
Neruda describes the desire using alliteration in the phrase difficult and

I Hear The Cry Of My Life
I hear the cry. Of course it is four thirty in the morning and my little boy is ready for his middle of the

While this usually isn t a normal time for people to think about their hopes and dreams it tends to be
mine. At the age of sixteen, I moved with my husband to Norman and realized that the best
opportunities for my family s future would be to pursue a professional degree. My college experience
began the summer after I graduated a year early from high school. This definitely left me clueless at

Ballistic Pendulum
While conducting the ballistic pendulum report you gain a bigger understanding of velocity and
momentum. Using the ballistic pendulum, and formulas learned in Physics, one can predict the range
of the ball when it is shot horizontally. There are several materials that are used to conduct this
experiment including: the ballistic pendulum, a balance, at least one sheet of paper, weights, and a
calculator. Firstly, before anything else is done, the mass of the ball needs to be calculated. Using the
balance, and additional weights if necessary, find the mass of the ball. This will be in grams, so you
need to convert that to kilograms. The conversion between grams and kilograms is: 1000g=1kg. The
mass of our ball was 69.9g, 0.0696kg. After this is calculated, the height of the bob from the pointer to
the table must be calculated and converted to meters. The conversion from centimeters to meters is
100cm=1m. The height of our bob was 12.7cm, .127m. Now we calculate the force of the bob by
setting the ball in the bob, and spring back the gun to shoot it. Attempt this at least seven times and

Once it is moved, we need to calculate the new height from the pointer to the floor. Our height was
88.5cm which we converted to .885m. Then we need to calculate how long it would take for the ball
to hit the floor with the formula, x=vot+12at2. Solve for t, and set the initial velocity to 0 which
should be t=2xg. Which then calculated is .4244s. After this step, we need to calculate the range,s,to
predict where the ball would on the floor after it is shot horizontally from the table. The range,s,can be
calculated with the formula, s=vt. Using our time and initial velocity, s=6.46(.4244). This is equal to

Persuasive Essay On Tariffs
I think a lot of people are tired of watching other countries ripping off the United
States, comments Trump as he implements, a 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and a 10 percent tariff
on foreign aluminum when the product comes across our borders. Trump believes that other countries
have been taking advantage of the US through the current free trade agreements. We are America the
Great ; therefore, of course, we produce steel and aluminum in the cheapest and most efficient way
possible. We will save jobs by encouraging other sectors to purchase steel and aluminum domestically.
The tariffs will only hurt the other countries, not our own people. This belief is a big joke. Yet, many
people believe that getting rid of free trade is actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What do the people who work in the factories want? They want to have their jobs protected, like many
working people do. Trump promised to help those workers. He promised to protect their jobs. That is
why he is proposing the tariffs. Yet, the tariffs are not actually beneficial for the workers. By strongly
encouraging Americans to use domestic steel and aluminum, the prices are being raised on these
products. All the products that have these two products as inputs are also having increased prices.
Why were factories buying these goods across the sea? China produces steel and aluminum at a lower
marginal cost, allowing them to sell the goods at a lower price and still maximize profit. Therefore,
China is the most efficient producer of these products. Instead of trying to inhibit efficiency, Trump
should be promoting efficiency. He could do so by encouraging the steel and aluminum factories to
discover new ways to produce their goods with a lower marginal cost. Also, maybe American factories
could specialize in another industry if China is the lowest cost producer of steel and aluminum. But,
these proposals are not being encouraged by Trump and his

Chiquita Case
1 a) Buyers have high power in the banana industry because they choose the company that has the best
customer service and the lowest prices to stock in their stores. This means that the supermarkets can
directly impact who has the most market shares in the industry.
b) Suppliers have low power in the banana industry because they are at the mercy of the buyers, FDA,
government import laws, and mother nature. All these factors creates little control for the supplies, and
anyone thing can destroy a company.
c) There is a low threat of new entrants in the banana industry because the banana industry is control
by three major companies that control 60% of the industry. Not only is the industry controlled by these
companies, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
b) Chiquita s managers actions did the rights or legitimate claims of the community(s) in which it
operates because they promoted growth within the community and gave an opportunity to help a
developing nation a chance to decrease the poor as result better the overall country. One could argue
the that this was consistent with their core values and their company s believes. Chiquita was put in a
situation where they had to choose the lesser of two evils, and this happened to be the right choice for
their situation. Even though, by many it was considered unethical, and a poor business practice.
c) Chiquita s managers actions did not reflect a best practice for the organization because they
supported a terrorist organization, which is illegal and unethical business practice. Though, they were
helping a community grow, it affected their brand image in the places they imported and sold their
product to. As result they were fined and also, their creditability was lost, which destroyed their
competitive advantage in the banana industry.
4 a) To restore Chiquita s reputation and endure future competitiveness for the company, CEO
Fernando Aquirre should (1) increase their relationships with buyers, in order to increase their market
shares, (2) research how to

Miranda Fricker s Concept Of Epistemic Injustice
Miranda Fricker s Concept of Epistemic Injustice
In Miranda Fricker s article Testimonial Injustice, she highlights the significant effects for the
connection of ethics and epistemology. Ethics is one of the philosophies branches that asks the
question, What is a good life or how to live a good life? Epistemology is the theory of philosophy that
ask the questions, What do you know? and How do you know it? Fricker basically, combines the two
subjects at the matter and produced the concept of epistemic injustice. According to Fricker, epistemic
injustices comes in the form of testimonial injustice.
Testimonial injustice involves preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual
experience. In which, causes any individual to put a label on another individual s words as a
credibility deficit or a credibility excess. Fricker highlights, anyone can be a victim of epistemic
injustices. In this paper, I will support Fricker s argument that epistemic injustice creates wrongfully
prejudgments about other s credibility of their knowledge. She thinks that people should change their
perceptions and then their beliefs to give people around them a fair chance to prove their credibility. I
will be defending her through examples and back her up in some objection that other s may have
against her theory.
According to Fricker, epistemic injustice can occur every day because people tend to fill their minds
with prejudicial stereotypes and social power. A disadvantage of

An Environmental Assessment ( Ea ) For Maryland Gas ...
QUESTION PRESENTED Did FERC s issuance of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and
corresponding Finding of no Significant Impact (FONSI) for Maryland Gas 400 Line pipeline project
violate NEPA? Should the Sierra Club sue FERC over this issue? SHORT ANSWER Yes. FERC s EA
violated NEPA s requirement to consider the cumulative and indirect impacts of a proposed project.
While FERC did consider some indirect impacts of the 400 Line project, FERC failed to analyze the
400 Line in conjunction with two connected pipeline projects: the 500 Line and the 600 Line. FERC s
fragmented analysis violates NEPA s requirement that environmental review consider interdependent
parts of a larger action (40 C.F.R. § 1508.25a). Other potential objections to FERC s EA, including the
project s effects on endangered species and FERC s failure to analyze certain alternative
arrangements, have a smaller and less certain likelihood of legal success. FERC provided a reasoned
explanation for most of their choices, and will thus receive generous deference from any reviewing
court on those issues. FERC, though, failed to mention either of the two related pipeline projects in the
EA, so the Sierra Club will have a strong case that FERC did not meet the requirement, cited in
Robertson v. Methow Valley Citizens Council, 490 U.S. 332 (1989), to take a hard look at the
environmental consequences of the 400 Line pipeline. FACTS See prompt. DISCUSSION Does a

Moral Permissibility Of Humanitarian Intervention
Humanitarian Intervention is perhaps the most controversial principle of international law and
although it has been theoretically present for a long period of time but it is in the recent decades we
find real development and practical implementation of it. There are a number of questions that have
been haunting the international community and holding them back from adopting a liberal approach
towards the Principle of Humanitarian Intervention. Whether or not it is morally permissible or even
morally obligatory for a state to intervene in internal affairs of a State to stop Grave Human Rights
violation? A States claim of Immunity against intervention based on the longstanding Principles of
Sovereignty is legitimate to what extent? Whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For, it is frequently observed by proponents of humanitarian intervention that the heinous types of
crimes which are often claimed to warrant humanitarian intervention are almost exclusively caused by
or sanctioned by the oppressed people s own state. The list of acts which are frequently claimed to
warrant humanitarian intervention usually includes mass enslavement, genocide, large scale massacre
(whether genocidal in intent or not), mass expulsion, and so on. These types of crimes are almost
unthinkable without the state s active or passive involvement, and this fact explains Walzer s ominous
warning that people s own states represent the greatest danger in the world today. At the same time,
however, much of the work on humanitarian intervention is thoroughly permeated by the quixotic
assumption that intervening states themselves do not represent a significant danger to their own
subjects.
Instead, intervening states are conceived as somehow different from other states, they are legitimate,
to use the familiar term. Without this assumption that intervening states are legitimate, (and, hence,
represent no serious danger to their own subjects), the debate surrounding humanitarian intervention
would be considerably altered. If, instead, all states were conceived to pose an extremely dangerous
threat to their own subjects, (an argument I intend to make below), it seems unlikely that philosophers
would so readily endorse the moral permissibility of state humanitarian

The Problem Of Juvenile Delinquency
Stephanie R. Hawkins, Philip w. Graham, Jason Williams, and Margaret A. Zahn provide us with a
cornucopia of information pertaining to Resilient Girls on the Girls Study Group. In the year 2004
girls made up thirty percent of all juvenile arrest. However, the question still remains whether it is an
increase in juvenile delinquency or society s response to girl s behavior. In order to find out the
answers to these questions the office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency prevention created the Girls
Study Group. To fight the statistics and improve the lives of girls in danger of juvenile delinquency.
Resiliency is the power to be able to deal with a tremendous amount of stress and negative situations.
Resiliency plays key role in the prevention and intervention of programs out there. Scientists to this
day still have not figured out why some kids may be resilient and not others. In the end certain factors
may or may not have the same impact on others concerning gender. This reading provides you with
some Intel that has been discovered in research to suggest why some girls may be protected from
delinquency.
Resiliency is best defined as human s ability to be able to adapt and learn in a negative atmosphere.
Situations that they might survive may be being abused or neglected, witnessing violence, or living in
poverty that could in the end lead them a life in delinquency. The majority of research today, focuses
on the negative factors that contributed to making people

Operation Barbarossa Essay
Operation Barbarossa
Did you know that over 830,000 Germans died during Operation Barbarossa? Operation Barbarossa
was the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union enacted by Hitler and carried out by Nazi troops. But the
Nazis were not the only ones who suffered colossal losses. The soviets had over 4,000,000 military
casualties, but somehow, the U.S.S.R. defeated the Germans and was able to shove them out of their
land. This defeat definitely had a major effect on WWII s outcome due to the massive Nazi force that
was allotted to Operation Barbarossa and their failure to take command of the U.S.S.R. The key points
of Operation Barbarossa were who planned it, why they planned it, the events that had major effects
on the war, and Germany s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His primary goals were to capture Moscow to boost morale, and then take control of the Baku Oil
Fields. After the U.S.S.R. would fall, many Nazi soldiers would be demilitarized and would be
brought back to Germany to help with a labor shortage and the Nazis would not have to worry about
oil shortages anymore due to the control of the Baku Oil fields. The strategy that was used was The
Three Prong Assault. One group would head for Leningrad, another would head for Moscow, and
another would attempt to conquer the Baku Oil fields. In the first days of the assault, the Nazis
bombed Soviet airfields, destroying one quarter of their aerial army and large cities. The U.S.S.R.
retaliated by presenting a patriotic speech to motivate Soviets, and mobilizing its troops. In just one
week, the Nazis had accomplished some rather large objectives.
One of the larger events in Operation Barbarossa was the Siege of Leningrad. Army Group North
(Nazi) had finally reached its primary goal; Leningrad. However, the Soviets were not willing to give
this city up, and were able to repel the Nazis and hold the city. The Nazis were not going to put up
with this nonsense, so they blockaded the city and tried to starve them out, along with constant
artillery fire and nonstop attempts to invade the city. The stubborn Russians did not surrender, held
them back, and finally pushed the pestering Nazis

The United States Take Back Control
Brexit has caused a divide amongst the UK population, with 52 to 48 percent in favor of leaving. Take
back control has been at the forefront of the Brexiter s campaign, some arguing the UK Parliament had
lost its power when it passed the European Communities Act of 1972. For the structure of this paper, I
will start by highlighting key arguments put forward by Brexiters as they relate to Parliamentary
sovereignty. Followed by a comprehensive look at Parliamentary and other types of sovereignty and
what they imply, followed by a decision whether the UK will regain power by canceling its
membership to the EU. Key Reasons for Argument: Taking back control. Immigration the UK does
not have enough control over its borders. Under the current EU s fundamental right of free movement,
any citizen of a member state may move and work in the UK without first getting a visa, and in some
circumstances, access to benefits. The migrant crisis that has found its way to the UK s doorstep in
Calais, France has created a cause for concern as migrants try to make it to UK soil and claim asylum.
By leaving the EU, Brexiters argue, the UK government will have the power necessary to stop and
control the migrant invasion. National security and defence due to the previously mentioned right to
free movement, the UK is leaving the door open to terrorist attacks. The open border policy does not
allow the UK to check and control people. Regaining authority over its borders puts the UK in a

Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders had the most followers and greatest impact with social media on
their campaign. Social media helped Donald Trump win this election. According to Trump s Twitter
page he has 41.2 million followers. This massive number of followers is what got Trump elected.
Trump is a business man who knew how to take advantage of his social media platform to the fullest
form unlike Hillary Clinton. Social media can act as free coverage. Trump just has to send out a tweet
and it is instantly shared with his millions of followers and is then retweeted and shared and continues
on an endless cycle of reposting. Trump also got people engaged with his clever slogan Make America
Great Again. According to Brad Parscale who served as a digital media stagiest on the Trump
campaign said that Facebook and Twitter helped us win this (2016, Kokkad). Trump was more in
touch with the people and wasn t afraid of showing who is truly is thorough his social media accounts.
[Next I d like to discuss the benefits and advantages that social media can have on politics.]
II. Main point 2: The number of benefits that social media has it truly great
A. Social media has allowed politicians to have direct contact with voters as no cost. Politicians can
tweet and retweet followers, answer questions and make the person feel special. It is free marketing. It
is much easier for campaigns across the U.S. to connect with one another. Campaigns can tailor

The Easy Way To Sucess
Hey, so about that tour you were giving me... are you going to continue? I said as I jogged over to Jai,

around fifteen or sixteen years old minimum. But somehow Jai wasn t so happy to see me as for a
couple of moments ago; as soon as I finished my sentence he rushes towards me and cover my mouth
but stops cause he realize it is too late, his friends started laughing at him while pointing their fingers
at us when we are only a couple of feet away. Now I remember; I am the weird, stubborn little girl
who is only trying to chase her dream. They are idiots. If only they all would see potential I actually
have. I know I can do it, we all have very even chances of making it, and so why not do the best of the
time and not fight about it? Before my own thoughts dragged me into my imaginary world Jai
complained; Ugh, did you really have to do that? He said without making eye contact and just started
walked away with big steps, making it hard for me to hold up with him. Do what? Burst your ego,
maybe? I say teasingly as I look at his profile angle while my feet try to stride in the same rhythm like
his. He actually looks less like a jerk from that way. Good point. My inner voice talks and I nod my
head to the side as I was agreeing to it. You must really want to be eaten by the lions,

English Influence On American Life
In the beginning of the 1600s, the first English settlements were established in America. Over time, as
they started building their colonies, the migration and population growth of the Europeans increased.
This change affected American life in both, positive and negative ways. The English introduced
various crops to the natives such as, corn, potatoes, beans and many more. With the help of the
natives, this led the agricultural growth in America to increase. They also introduced tobacco, which
soon dominated the trade routes and medicinal usage was also practiced. The English established
political and religious institutions and educated the locals living in the New World. Advanced
weaponry was brought by the English which the natives soon learned

  • 2. Theory of Constraints Essay What is the Theory of Constraints? The Theory of Constraints is an organizational change method that is focused on profit improvement. The essential concept of TOC is that every organization must have at least one constraint. A constraint is any factor that limits the organization from getting more of whatever it strives for, which is usually profit. The Goal focuses on constraints as bottleneck processes in a job shop manufacturing organization. However, many non manufacturing constraints exist, such as market demand, or a sales department s ability to translate market demand into orders. Goldratt advocates that all improvement opportunities should be prioritized by their effect on the three measures, especially Throughput, for which the only limit on how high it can be increased is market size. How Does Lean Thinking Compare to the Theory of Constraints? Lean thinking is an organizational change method that is also implemented with the objective of increasing profit. Lean thinking originated in Japan, and is best exemplified by the Toyota Production System. Constraints placed on the Japanese manufacturing industry after the second world war lead Taiichi Ohno of Toyota to pioneer a new type of production system that was so different, and so much better, than mass production, as to warrant a new type manufacturing. Lean production is a method of organizing production using half the effort, space, inventory, and product development time compared with mass production. It also achieves fewer defects, and larger product variety. These improvements should result in increased sales, which is the key to re deploying freed up resources. Lean thinking codified and expanded upon the Toyota Production System to include non manufacturing organizations, as well as product development efforts. The objective of lean thinking, as with TOC, is to increase profit. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. My Accomplishment Analysis When most people think of an accomplishment that brought them into adulthood, many would think of their first job, going to college, or even simply receiving good grades in school. For me, my accomplishment has been a work in progress for the last six years. Sports have always been a big part of my life and how I live it. I started running track in 6th grade and have had a strange bond with the sport ever since. A normal person after running their heart out for 50 seconds around the track would naturally want to rollover and puke, but it gives me a feeling inside that I can not put into words. Things had changed from a year ago and personally I thought I could beat the record by putting in the time even when track wasn t in season. Even though my mind thought I could beat the record, it stayed to myself so no one knew about my ridiculous dream. As junior year started, I could see myself getting stronger and faster. Then spring came and track started up again, and that same number, 48.9 seconds, was posted in the locker room. By the last meet of the year, my personal best was 50 seconds. This may sound impressive to someone who knows where I started, but to me it was a disappointment because I had missed my goal for the year by a second. Through this disappointment, I saw how much I had achieved in the last three years and got the extraordinary chance to run in the Nebraska State Track meet on our team s 4x400 relay. The accomplishments I have slowly achieved over the last three years have showed me that if you work hard enough at a goal, you can achieve it with time. I have one last season of running track and I will give my all to have my name posted on the board so for years to come other kids trying to become something have a goal they can ... Among the observations made on the hiring of Mr. Wang, who has a strong accessories business, having astutely positioned his handbags at the lowest end of the luxury category, is that PPR was looking for its own version of what Mr. Jacobs brought to Louis Vuitton. There were some feelings after what happened with John Galliano at Dior that the brands were promoting the individual designers too much, the veteran consultant Robert Burke said. Now they re thinking, what is it going to take to keep a brand relevant and alive? Linda Fargo, the fashion director for Bergdorf Goodman, said there are real design chops in Mr. Wang s collections. Asked about the complaints that he copies, she said: I hands down do not agree with that. I think he s incredibly original. MR. WANG grew up in California. To cope with this, he created a friend for himself, helping him keep his sanity and to be less lonely. At times, he lost motivation, and he almost gave up. Noland learned how to get food, clean water, and make a shelter in the four years he was on the island, fulfilling his basic needs . Ultimately, the main reason he almost died multiple times while marooned was because he was alone. Love and belongingness needs are one of the most important needs for human survival because without human interaction, one could lose their sanity, motivation, and can become lonely. Some people who follow Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs believe that the basic needs are the most important needs. Seeing as how the basic needs include food, water, and rest, this makes sense. Without those essentials, one will die. In the book The Clay Marble by Minfong Ho, in chapter nine, a young refugee named Dara is walking back to her campsite after being separated from her family. I noticed an old man looking at me curiously. He was sitting with his own family, holding a plate of cold rice. I looked at it hungrily, but could not bring myself to ask for any food. Dara is rejecting asking for food, and yet the only reason she is there in the first place is to find her family. Dara cannot bear to lose them, and would rather go hungry looking for them than be fully nourished without them. This shows how much risk people will go through for the ones they love. I will use a reflective model to discuss how I have achieved the necessary level of competence in my nurse training programme. The reflective model I have chosen to use is Gibbs model (Gibbs 1988). Gibbs model of reflection incorporates the following: description, feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and an action plan (Gibbs 1988). The model will be applied to the essay to facilitate critical thought, relating theory to practice where the model allows. Discussion will include the knowledge underpinning practice and the evidence base for the clinical skill. Analysis Of Gerard Genette s Glossary Of Poetic Terms In recent years, the term narratology has often been associated principally with European structuralism [1], bolstered by the work of Gerard Genette, perhaps one of the most famous narrative theorists. Rather than other theorists, such as Todorov, who s work on the influence of the protagonist on a narrative equilibrium has too provided an insight into different forms and varieties of narratives [2], Genette is more concerned with breaking down the mechanics and processes behind a story, shifting away from the characters and their respective character arcs. He argues that the principalities behind explaining narratology exist in the routine in which the story is presented. In simpler terms, his interest is not in the story itself, but how it is told. [3} In this essay, I will use this as an analytical tool for taking apart a selected narrative. Any good author, playwright, or poet will always tell you that forms of literature will always contain a message. This may be personal, or historical for instance, but underneath the visual and auditory sugar coat of graphology and literary techniques, there always exists an underlying message to influence and engage the reader. This could be ambiguous, or easily recognised, or perhaps in between. One prominent branch of writing subsists in between free verse and poetry, in what is known as Prose . Someone like Abigail, who looked foolish at the end of her story, may realize how inconsiderate and greedy she was being, but that does not mean she should feel that they need to punish herself or condemn herself to hell. In Luther s case, he hated the idea of indulgences because he felt that people who actually do commit sin end up paying away the good work of the Lord. But the indulgences meant that rather than beg for forgiveness and the mercy of God, whoever has confessed and is contrite and puts alms in the box, as his confessor counsels him, will have all of his sins forgiven (Pettegree 68). Yet, it is also important to note that Luther did believe in salvation, just simply as good deeds and prayers rather than money. Martin Luther in his adolescence truly believed that he could not reach salvation or stand on good terms with God. The teachings of the Catholic Church seemed to do no good for him, so he took it upon himself with the help of his father in Christ to study theology at the University of Wittenberg. Analysis Of A Song Of Despair By Pablo Neruda In the poem A Song of Despair Pablo Neruda chronicles the reminiscence of a love between two characters, with the main speaker s perspective showing the changes between their relationship from a once fruitful, to a now broken relationship. From this Neruda attempts to showcase the significance of contrasting imagery to demonstrate the speaker s various emotions felt throughout the experience. This contrasting imagery specifically develops the reader s understanding of abandonment, sadness, change, and memory. The significant language features Neruda uses to accomplish this include: similes, nautical imagery, floral imagery, and apostrophe. Firstly Neruda uses contrasting imagery of difficulty to represent the speakers troubled relationship. This is presented using diction in the quotation How terrible and brief my desire of you! How difficult and drunken, how tensed and avid. From the words terrible and brief the feeling of a short, abysmal experience can be seen. This is paired with the verb desire which suggests a longing, or wanting for something, subsequently referring to the sexual desire of the speaker s past relationship . Using the ballistic pendulum, and formulas learned in Physics, one can predict the range of the ball when it is shot horizontally. There are several materials that are used to conduct this experiment including: the ballistic pendulum, a balance, at least one sheet of paper, weights, and a calculator. Firstly, before anything else is done, the mass of the ball needs to be calculated. Using the balance, and additional weights if necessary, find the mass of the ball. This will be in grams, so you need to convert that to kilograms. The conversion between grams and kilograms is: 1000g=1kg. The mass of our ball was 69.9g, 0.0696kg. Persuasive Essay On Tariffs I think a lot of people are tired of watching other countries ripping off the United States, comments Trump as he implements, a 25 percent tariff on foreign steel and a 10 percent tariff on foreign aluminum when the product comes across our borders. Trump believes that other countries have been taking advantage of the US through the current free trade agreements. We are America the Great ; therefore, of course, we produce steel and aluminum in the cheapest and most efficient way possible. We will save jobs by encouraging other sectors to purchase steel and aluminum domestically. The tariffs will only hurt the other countries, not our own people. This belief is a big joke. Yet, many people believe that getting rid of free trade is actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What do the people who work in the factories want? They want to have their jobs protected, like many working people do. Trump promised to help those workers. He promised to protect their jobs. That is why he is proposing the tariffs. Yet, the tariffs are not actually beneficial for the workers. By strongly encouraging Americans to use domestic steel and aluminum, the prices are being raised on these products. All the products that have these two products as inputs are also having increased prices. Why were factories buying these goods across the sea? China produces steel and aluminum at a lower marginal cost, allowing them to sell the goods at a lower price and still maximize profit. Therefore, China is the most efficient producer of these products. Instead of trying to inhibit efficiency, Trump should be promoting efficiency. He could do so by encouraging the steel and aluminum factories to discover new ways to produce their goods with a lower marginal cost. Also, maybe American factories could specialize in another industry if China is the lowest cost producer of steel and aluminum. But, these proposals are not being encouraged by Trump and his ... This means that the supermarkets can directly impact who has the most market shares in the industry. b) Suppliers have low power in the banana industry because they are at the mercy of the buyers, FDA, government import laws, and mother nature. All these factors creates little control for the supplies, and anyone thing can destroy a company. c) There is a low threat of new entrants in the banana industry because the banana industry is control by three major companies that control 60% of the industry. Chiquita was put in a situation where they had to choose the lesser of two evils, and this happened to be the right choice for their situation. Even though, by many it was considered unethical, and a poor business practice. c) Chiquita s managers actions did not reflect a best practice for the organization because they supported a terrorist organization, which is illegal and unethical business practice. • 42. Miranda Fricker s Concept Of Epistemic Injustice Miranda Fricker s Concept of Epistemic Injustice In Miranda Fricker s article Testimonial Injustice, she highlights the significant effects for the connection of ethics and epistemology. Ethics is one of the philosophies branches that asks the question, What is a good life or how to live a good life? Epistemology is the theory of philosophy that ask the questions, What do you know? and How do you know it? Fricker basically, combines the two subjects at the matter and produced the concept of epistemic injustice. According to Fricker, epistemic injustices comes in the form of testimonial injustice. Testimonial injustice involves preconceived opinions that are not based on reason or actual experience. In which, causes any individual to put a label on another individual s words as a credibility deficit or a credibility excess. Fricker highlights, anyone can be a victim of epistemic injustices. In this paper, I will support Fricker s argument that epistemic injustice creates wrongfully prejudgments about other s credibility of their knowledge. She thinks that people should change their perceptions and then their beliefs to give people around them a fair chance to prove their credibility. I will be defending her through examples and back her up in some objection that other s may have against her theory. According to Fricker, epistemic injustice can occur every day because people tend to fill their minds with prejudicial stereotypes and social power. A disadvantage of ... • 43. An Environmental Assessment ( Ea ) For Maryland Gas ... QUESTION PRESENTED Did FERC s issuance of an Environmental Assessment (EA) and corresponding Finding of no Significant Impact (FONSI) for Maryland Gas 400 Line pipeline project violate NEPA? Should the Sierra Club sue FERC over this issue? SHORT ANSWER Yes. FERC s EA violated NEPA s requirement to consider the cumulative and indirect impacts of a proposed project. While FERC did consider some indirect impacts of the 400 Line project, FERC failed to analyze the 400 Line in conjunction with two connected pipeline projects: the 500 Line and the 600 Line. FERC s fragmented analysis violates NEPA s requirement that environmental review consider interdependent parts of a larger action (40 C.F.R. § 1508.25a). Other potential objections to FERC s EA, including the project s effects on endangered species and FERC s failure to analyze certain alternative arrangements, have a smaller and less certain likelihood of legal success. FERC provided a reasoned explanation for most of their choices, and will thus receive generous deference from any reviewing court on those issues. FERC, though, failed to mention either of the two related pipeline projects in the EA, so the Sierra Club will have a strong case that FERC did not meet the requirement, cited in Robertson v. Methow Valley Citizens Council, 490 U.S. 332 (1989), to take a hard look at the environmental consequences of the 400 Line pipeline. FACTS See prompt. • 44. Moral Permissibility Of Humanitarian Intervention Humanitarian Intervention is perhaps the most controversial principle of international law and although it has been theoretically present for a long period of time but it is in the recent decades we find real development and practical implementation of it. There are a number of questions that have been haunting the international community and holding them back from adopting a liberal approach towards the Principle of Humanitarian Intervention. Whether or not it is morally permissible or even morally obligatory for a state to intervene in internal affairs of a State to stop Grave Human Rights violation? A States claim of Immunity against intervention based on the longstanding Principles of Sovereignty is legitimate to what extent? Whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For, it is frequently observed by proponents of humanitarian intervention that the heinous types of crimes which are often claimed to warrant humanitarian intervention are almost exclusively caused by or sanctioned by the oppressed people s own state. The list of acts which are frequently claimed to warrant humanitarian intervention usually includes mass enslavement, genocide, large scale massacre (whether genocidal in intent or not), mass expulsion, and so on. These types of crimes are almost unthinkable without the state s active or passive involvement, and this fact explains Walzer s ominous warning that people s own states represent the greatest danger in the world today. At the same time, however, much of the work on humanitarian intervention is thoroughly permeated by the quixotic assumption that intervening states themselves do not represent a significant danger to their own subjects. Instead, intervening states are conceived as somehow different from other states, they are legitimate, to use the familiar term. Without this assumption that intervening states are legitimate, (and, hence, represent no serious danger to their own subjects), the debate surrounding humanitarian intervention would be considerably altered. If, instead, all states were conceived to pose an extremely dangerous threat to their own subjects, (an argument I intend to make below), it seems unlikely that philosophers would so readily endorse the moral permissibility of state humanitarian ... Zahn provide us with a cornucopia of information pertaining to Resilient Girls on the Girls Study Group. In the year 2004 girls made up thirty percent of all juvenile arrest. However, the question still remains whether it is an increase in juvenile delinquency or society s response to girl s behavior. In order to find out the answers to these questions the office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency prevention created the Girls Study Group. To fight the statistics and improve the lives of girls in danger of juvenile delinquency. Resiliency is the power to be able to deal with a tremendous amount of stress and negative situations. Resiliency plays key role in the prevention and intervention of programs out there. Scientists to this day still have not figured out why some kids may be resilient and not others. In the end certain factors may or may not have the same impact on others concerning gender. This reading provides you with some Intel that has been discovered in research to suggest why some girls may be protected from delinquency. Resiliency is best defined as human s ability to be able to adapt and learn in a negative atmosphere. Situations that they might survive may be being abused or neglected, witnessing violence, or living in poverty that could in the end lead them a life in delinquency. Operation Barbarossa was the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union enacted by Hitler and carried out by Nazi troops. But the Nazis were not the only ones who suffered colossal losses. The soviets had over 4,000,000 military casualties, but somehow, the U.S.S.R. defeated the Germans and was able to shove them out of their land. This defeat definitely had a major effect on WWII s outcome due to the massive Nazi force that was allotted to Operation Barbarossa and their failure to take command of the U.S.S.R. His primary goals were to capture Moscow to boost morale, and then take control of the Baku Oil Fields. After the U.S.S.R. would fall, many Nazi soldiers would be demilitarized and would be brought back to Germany to help with a labor shortage and the Nazis would not have to worry about oil shortages anymore due to the control of the Baku Oil fields. The strategy that was used was The Three Prong Assault. One group would head for Leningrad, another would head for Moscow, and another would attempt to conquer the Baku Oil fields. In the first days of the assault, the Nazis bombed Soviet airfields, destroying one quarter of their aerial army and large cities. The U.S.S.R. retaliated by presenting a patriotic speech to motivate Soviets, and mobilizing its troops. In just one week, the Nazis had accomplished some rather large objectives. One of the larger events in Operation Barbarossa was the Siege of Leningrad. Army Group North (Nazi) had finally reached its primary goal; Leningrad. However, the Soviets were not willing to give this city up, and were able to repel the Nazis and hold the city. The Nazis were not going to put up with this nonsense, so they blockaded the city and tried to starve them out, along with constant artillery fire and nonstop attempts to invade the city. • 49. The United States Take Back Control Brexit has caused a divide amongst the UK population, with 52 to 48 percent in favor of leaving. Take back control has been at the forefront of the Brexiter s campaign, some arguing the UK Parliament had lost its power when it passed the European Communities Act of 1972. For the structure of this paper, I will start by highlighting key arguments put forward by Brexiters as they relate to Parliamentary sovereignty. Followed by a comprehensive look at Parliamentary and other types of sovereignty and what they imply, followed by a decision whether the UK will regain power by canceling its membership to the EU. Key Reasons for Argument: Taking back control. Immigration the UK does not have enough control over its borders. Under the current EU s fundamental right of free movement, any citizen of a member state may move and work in the UK without first getting a visa, and in some circumstances, access to benefits. The migrant crisis that has found its way to the UK s doorstep in Calais, France has created a cause for concern as migrants try to make it to UK soil and claim asylum. By leaving the EU, Brexiters argue, the UK government will have the power necessary to stop and control the migrant invasion. National security and defence due to the previously mentioned right to free movement, the UK is leaving the door open to terrorist attacks. The open border policy does not allow the UK to check and control people. Regaining authority over its borders puts the UK in a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The girls I lived with where much older, the youngest looked around fifteen or sixteen years old minimum. But somehow Jai wasn t so happy to see me as for a couple of moments ago; as soon as I finished my sentence he rushes towards me and cover my mouth but stops cause he realize it is too late, his friends started laughing at him while pointing their fingers at us when we are only a couple of feet away. Over time, as they started building their colonies, the migration and population growth of the Europeans increased. This change affected American life in both, positive and negative ways. The English introduced various crops to the natives such as, corn, potatoes, beans and many more. With the help of the natives, this led the agricultural growth in America to increase. They also introduced tobacco, which soon dominated the trade routes and medicinal usage was also practiced.
