Collinsville Flower Monologue
Mine. Just mine. You hear? His haunting words corrupt her golden, sweet morning, barking in her
mind as if taunting her to what she is to him. A mere belonging, his pet, his toy. In the dreadful year of
1936, women are minor belongings to own. To command by brooding, dark eyes and intimidating tall
figures of men. However in that moment, Adriana s focus is stolen by the woman through the window
of a well known supermarket in Collinsville, Alabama. She keeps her dilated eyes steady on the
mysterious woman, as she gazes into her piercing green eyes, that softly dissolve into a pale blue as
they stray from the centre. Her chestnut brown hair that is done up in a tight bun, hinting blonde as the
blinding sun shines down to transform the staggering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Five minutes. Her eyes focused on the native cardinal wildflowers, sprouting on the side of her path to
destiny. The blood red colour stains the murky brown soil as if showing off its colour with arrogance
for all of the citizens in Collinsville. Flowers that are said to restore love with their blush red pigment,
yet flowers that are deemed as poisonous entirely due to the envious green leaves. A flower that stole
the female s consciousness, yet the flower she strolls past to continue her journey.
Two minutes. All views simply fading from her mind into thin oblivion as her eyes focus on the rich
soil path leading to the train station, always crowded by ghosts with no conscience; however, now the
ghosts are transparent as no one is present. Walking towards the isolated tree, Adriana stands in
perplexment as to why her true love is absent. A moist drop lands on her cheek, as a metallic smell
arises opposite of water from rain. Her hand leads up to wipe the liquid, as a sharp intake of breath is
audible when wide emerald eyes meet a blush red rather than clarity A sharp hum fills her mind,
starting gradual but heightening in sound, piercing ferociously through her ears, and numbing her
mind. Her airway blocks as if someone has sharply dug their hand down to her soul, and latched onto
her heart. Adriana s chest heaves up and down rapidly, struggling to allow the once sweet air within.
Hesitance clouds her conscience, as her eyes hesitantly trail to see the source of the bloody rain that
falls from the sky. His round nose, his dusky complexion, frilly careless hair, black pants that cling to
strong legs, and a white stained shirt that fills with winds that once were familiar. Her thoughts only
stray to denial and nothing

The Gunpowder Plot Of 1605
The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 reveals a deep and rich history of the animosity between the Protestant
and Catholic sects of the Christian Church. The official tale tells of Catholic conspirators planning to
kill King James I and a majority of Parliament in a statement against Protestantism. Though Robert
Cecil caught Guy Fawkes in the cellar of the Parliament Building and many associated with the plot
possessed good reason to attempt a mass killing against a predominantly Protestant government, large
amounts of evidence suggest that Protestants likely framed the Catholics for an attempt on King James
and a majority of Parliament s lives. When considering the time period, England held a large
monopoly on the sale of gunpowder, preventing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Elizabeth planned to have James give Catholics false hope, pretending that she gave the throne to the
Catholics. Elizabeth proceeded to set the Gunpowder Plot so that James may fully deal with the
Catholics, hiding a Protestant Guy Fawkes with the Catholics and starting the plot with Catesby.
Considering the influence religion held in the time period, Guy Fawkes and Robert Catesby more than
likely sacrificed their lives for the Anglican Protestant Church, convincing more radical Catholics to
join their faux plan, while secretly planning to defame the Catholic name and to accuse their entire
Catholic group of treason. When Robert Cecil captured Fawkes, Fawkes proceeds to state that there
was no trick, essentially killing himself as a scapegoat for his beloved Protestant Church. Had Fawkes
been a Catholic, he could have destroyed a large part of Parliament with little proof or remains of
Catholic involvement as the first suicide bomber; instead, he peaceably accepted arrest and

Why The Tecumseh Historical Society Will Be My Greatest Asset
When working on this project I intend to utilize the materials that I already have available to me as a
starting point. The Tecumseh Historical Society has an extensive amount of information on the
Hayden family. Because of the amount of information I will have to then sort out the information that
would not be useful toward my project, and then focus on the information that will enrich the project.
The Historical Society may also have contact information to reach descendants of the Hayden family
who might be willing to set up a time to perform an interview. For this project, I believe the Tecumseh
Historical Society will be my greatest asset. When attempting to answer the question, I would first
start to search through the archives to find the information that addresses my question I plan to break
it into the three categories of Ford s influence on the the local community, the economy, and the
technology. In these categories I can break them up in the many different sub categories as well. When
answering my question of Henry Ford s influence on the community, I plan on breaking it up in to
several sub categories as well. The categories that I would like to break economics into are the
following: the mill, economy of the citizens, and economy of the city as a whole. One sources that I
have is a newspaper article that discusses the involvement of Henry Ford allowing citizens of the city
to have a career. When looking at the company, I have some budget plans before

Gears and Simple Machines
Gears are part of one of the six simple machines, the wheel and axle. Simple machines, such as the
wheel and axle, are mechanisms created to make difficult work much easier. The six simple machines
consist of the inclined plane, screw, lever, pulley, wedge, and wheel and axle. Gears can be found in
many household items today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most
common object, in which gears are found, is the car. The car s steering wheel is a simple machine,
called the wheel and axle. Gears however, are not found in the steering wheel, but are located in the
engine. The gears are then controlled by the gear shift, which spins the gears around, causing the car
to move or brake. Gears are circular objects that have teeth all around the outer rim, or just a wheel
with teeth. When in movement, if a singular gear s teeth fit into a second gear, it will cause that second
gear to rotate in the opposite direction of the first gear. This can then be continued by adding more
gears, which in turn create a system of gears. A gear system can be used to function a machine, such as
car s gear shift. This system is called a gear train. Whichever gear starts the gear train by rotating is
called the driver. The final gear on the opposite end of the train is called the driven gear. Meshed
Gears is a gear train of five or more gears. There are many other gear types such as Spur gears, bevel
gears, worm gears, rack gears, and internal gears. All these gears are

change anything, you know how hard it is. How do you go about getting your message across to truly

The second is immobilization and self protection, driven by fear or panic. The next is you can t make
me move deviance, driven by anger. And the last is a pessimistic attitude, leading to constant
hesitation. These behaviors prevent people from taking action. Instead, they hold back or complain as
others initiate new action. The result is that a needed change effort is derailed. The first step is not to
create a vision. This is especially true if your organization is in crisis, if alligators are nipping at your
feet. If they stand on a burning platform, they have no choice but to take immediate action, to jump
away from their comfortable positions. Assembling a team to discuss the organization s new vision
won t be very successful, because team members will be worried more about self preservation than the
new vision. (continued on page 3) See, Feel, Change Changing one person is hard enough, but
changing 100 or 1000 is an almost Herculean task. Yet organizations are doing just that. Most that do
so successfully focus on showing what needs to be changed. Once people respond emotionally to the
lesson, their emotional reactions propel them into action. They see, then feel, then change. To help
them make the leap, you must: ✓ Help people see the need for change with compelling, eye catching
dramatic situations to visualize problems and solutions. ✓ Let people feel as they are hit with the
reality of their situation and feel the need to act. ✓ Let

Millennium Cohort Study
RESULTS Overall, 108,129 Service members enrolled in panels 1 and 2 of the Millennium Cohort
Study and completed baseline survey. Service members who were not in active duty or National
Guard/Reserves at baseline (n=5,079), who did not remain in the assigned separation category until
end of study (n=37,922), who did not complete at least two follow up surveys (n=27,984), and who
had missing covariate data (n=5,974) were excluded from the study. Exclusion criteria resulted in
31,170 study participants among whom approximately 18% (n=5,510) were categorized as veterans.
Majority of the study participants were male gender, aged 25 44, White, non Hispanic, with less than a

Furthermore, significant positive dose response relationships were observed between smoking and
number of combat exposures as well as smoking and the amount of alcohol consumption. As stated,
time until separation, defined as time spent in Service between the completion of baseline survey and
date of separation, was further investigated among the veterans group (n=5,510). Table 3 shows the
results of the time until separation sub analysis. The smoking prevalence were 23%, 20%, 20%, and
17% for less than 3 months, 3 months to less than 1 year, 1 year to less than 2 years, and 2+ years,
respectively. The differences of smoking prevalence by time until separation gradually diminished
over time after participants separated from service. By time 3, all groups had similar smoking
prevalence (12% 14%). At univariate level, a dose response relationship was observed as the closer
participants were to the separation date at baseline, the higher chance of them being a smoker.
However, GEE model only revealed significantly elevated odds among those stayed in service
between 3 months to a year after the completion of baseline survey. For analyses examining type of
separation, we further excluded Reserve and National Guard personnel (n=1,658) due to the lack of
separation data. Table 4 shows smoking prevalence, unadjusted, and adjusted odds ratios of smoking

How Does North Replace A Contradiction In Neoclassical...
North illuminates a contradiction in neoclassical economic theory as it relates to structure and change
in political economic systems. On one hand, North demonstrates that neoclassical theory fails to fully
explain what causes economic change, and is particularly deficient in explaining the emergence of
various ideologies. On the other hand, he presents evidence that rational individual behavior explains
specific institutional choices that result in change, both positive and negative. He attempts to resolve
this contradiction by offering theories of the state, organizations, and ideology. However, his argument
seems reducible to a statement that political economic institutions change when the benefits of change
outweigh the costs, and persist otherwise. This oversimplification does an injustice to ... Show more

His path dependency goes beyond explaining from where the present system emerged by assuming the
components of the current system always existed. For instance, North s discussion of free ridership
and the tragedy of the commons in hunter gather societies ten millennia in the past illustrates this
assumption. He also compares all historical systems against the modern definition of the market to
show why those previous systems failed to function properly. By focusing on the constraints and
inefficiencies imposed by previous political systems, institutions, and ideologies, North seems to be
arguing that if only those did not exist the system would have been efficient in essence, a liberal
economic argument founded upon a capitalist ideology. North s emphasis on markets and self interest,
rather than alternative models (e.g., reciprocity and altruism) suggests a view of history colored by a
specific ideological bent. In this light, North s argument does not explain the structure and change of
economic history so much as show why it took so long to arrive at the current, preferred,

Common Examples Of Child Protective Service
In 2002 there was estimated to be nearly 3 million referrals to Child Protective Services (CPS) in the
United States, and about 5 million in the year 2000 (McWey Mullis, 2004). Children who are living in
environments that put them in harms way, depending on the situation are generally removed from their
home and placed into a foster home in attempts to keep them safe (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006).
Common examples of Child Protective Service (CPS) referrals include physical abuse, sexual abuse,
and psychological maltreatment (McWey Mullis, 2004). In 2001 it was estimated that nearly 542,000
children were in foster care in the United States and that the number of children in foster care
exceeded the number of available foster homes by nearly 30 40% (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006).
For many children in foster care, reunification with biological parent or parents is the ultimate goal
(McWey, Acock Porter, 2010). In 60% of foster care cases, reunification with biological parents occurs
(Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006) .In order for reunification to be possible, or to help determine
whether reunification can occur, children and biological parents have scheduled visits with trained
supervisors who monitor the visits (Haight, Kagle Black, 2003). The duty of the supervisor is to look
at the parent child interactions and determine whether or not they are appropriate. Supervised
visitation has been shown to have positive and negative effects on children who are

Surrogate Court Cases
Overall, the surrogate proves to have rights that need to be identified and upheld. Those rights may
conflict with the rights of the intended parents both legally and ethically. As we consider the contracts
used in surrogacy and previous court cases, we have a more concise ruling on the borders of the end of
the surrogate s rights and the beginning of the intended parent s rights. Since the intended parents
initiate the process, they should receive their intentions, but it should be regulated. Depending on the
case, the social parents may not be not related to the child (Nardo 16). In previous court cases, rulings
are difficult because of the conflicting moral and legal rights of parenthood. The results typically point
to the intended parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We cannot battle those who are infertile for what extent they would go to in order to have a child
(Cotton 34). Because of this, regulation of surrogacy is important, especially in terms of those who are
not the ones who initiate the process. For surrogates, we must understand the emotional toll they will
go through and accept things will not be perfect. Their efforts should be recognized in some form
along with appreciation for their cooperation. As a surrogate, they should remember what the purpose
of the process is and stick to what they were assigned and agreed to do. Intended parents should
understand that when a third party is involved disagreements will occur and compromise should be
exerted. They must also recognize as much as they have wanted a child, the surrogate may form the
same attachment as they do, so they must address it morally not selfishly. For children, we must
consider the complexity of surrogacy, as they are the direct results. They should be given the same
respect and care as another other child. Their interests should be kept in mind whether it is from the
social parents side or the biological parents

Definition Of Outliers By Malcolm Gladwell
A true outlier would be someone who differs from all other members of a group, but Malcolm
Gladwell says that this is not the case. When Gladwell says that The outlier in the end is not an outlier
at all , he means that the people we see as outliers had a lot of help to reach the level of success that
they achieved. Outliers such as Bill Gates, Joseph Flom are considered the best of the best in their
respective fields. They did not just get to the top of their fields from their own personal qualities.
Although all of these people had amazing work ethics, they also had many opportunities that their
peers did not have. This can be seen when Gladwell says, it would be simpler to look at Joe Flom and

Driving The Cost Of Higher Education
Driving the Cost of Higher Education It seems as though the correct step for young people to follow
after high school is college. We are constantly told that if we wish to be successful, then we must get a
degree. However, with the rising costs, it s seeming like fewer people are willing or able to take the
next step into higher education. Cries about the sheer insanity of the rising costs blur into a cacophony
of anger and frustration. The discussion of whether it s even worth the cost have also begun becoming
popular, though this is its own discussion and shall not be explored here. What is of interest here is the
underlying motor of the cost increase. Since 1978, the first year that the Bureau of Labor and Statistics
included college ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perhaps this is because their costs do not react as fast to market forces as does the private sector.
Prices are normally set, and then remain relatively stable regardless of the day to day changes in the
market. A private business can, and will, change its prices in order to maintain an equilibrium of
supply and demand. During a recession, this means lowering prices in order to combat the lowering
demand for their products. Colleges and Universities on the other hand react differently to a recession.
They raise their prices to combat budget cuts from the State and Federal levels. They still have their
costs for teaching their students, and these costs do not normally change as quickly as the overall CPI.
This would lead to the belief that college prices would fall again at the end of a recession, but colleges
and universities are always hesitant to lower tuition. Coupled with the slower reaction time of colleges
from market forces, the price stays at its elevated level far into the economic recovery. It would seem
that the Economics 101 story around higher education for the past few decades would go something
like this: for various reasons, government has decided to increase demand for higher education
massively, via increased subsidies, and in particular student loans; meanwhile, supply has not kept up.
This is because non profit universities get paid in prestige and therefore have an objective

Introduction
Most folks in the workforce believe they are obligated to do their best at their job simply because that
is what is expected. I am one of those individuals who take pride in my job and I do it well but set a
part from being a way to afford life s expenses, I m always in search of my legacy. The legacy I want
is embodied in my desire to showcase a body of work that demonstrates the three units of intrinsic
motivation that Dan Pink attributes to the most creative workers; Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose
(Pink 2009). On the other hand, there are those folks out there that want to only do as much as they
can get away with doing. Regardless of which type of employee makes up, an organization, leaders
need to understand the science and application of motivation in business processes. Motivation comes
in many forms such as money, benefits, or simple recognition; extrinsic and intrinsic. The right type of
motivation can lead to exponentially higher productivity and profits and that is what we are all looking
for in business.
The aim of this paper is to provide an analysis of what science teaches about motivation and give a
contrast between intrinsic and extrinsic rewards as they relate to employee productivity. Additionally,
this paper will include identifying and elaborating on

Northeastern Montana, during the early twentieth century, was plagued by a myriad of poor farming

(McDonald, 20) The impecunious economic conditions created a support base of highly volatile and
emotional of farmers that were ripe for political exploitation. Sheridan County s farmers were
desperate for dynamic political leadership that represented their best interests. Consequently, Charles

between politics and the media tied the success of The Producers News to the success of the radical
government. Moreover, the Producers News became more leftwing and communist. This opened the
way for their opponents to utilize similar rhetoric to demonize and lambaste both the paper and the
local government. The anticommunist Plentywood Herald was established as a way to counteract the
Producers News. Furthermore, the Hearald was able to capitalize on political scandals such as the
robbery of the county treasury and the Bolshevik funeral for Rodney Salisbury s daughter .

Taylor departed the Producers News, and the paper became more national and radical. The Producers

My Great Childmother And Irish Grandmother
As a fourth generation Irish citizen, my family emigrated from Ireland to the United States in
approximately 1870, during the post famine wave of Irish immigration. During this time, more
females came to the new land without the fetters of a husband, seeking a better future for herself and
marrying a man of whom has established himself in the U.S. In the case of my family, my great
grandmother traversed the Atlantic on her own terms in search of a higher standard of living and
ultimately an opportunity for advancement, marrying an established Irish man in Baltimore,
eventually moving north to Philadelphia, where she and my great grandfather raised my grandmother
and her four brothers. Interestingly enough, my great grandmother s story is similar to that of many
female Irish immigrants of her time. As previously stated, my grandmother immigrated to the United
States during the post famine wave of Irish immigration, which constituted for more female migration
who married men with land in America. Despite this wave having considerably more single female
migrants, many more men came to the U.S. than women in search of work. These men generally
worked industrial jobs; building the transcontinental railroad, mining, and home steading (Metress and
Metress 2006, 9). Many women, such as my great grandmother, worked as either factory girls or
maids, vastly improving the Irish s visibility in society, and eventually their social status. Maintaining

The Diffusion Of Water Across A Permeable Membrane Essay
INTRODUCTION
Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane (Raven et al. G 16). In this
experiment, dialysis tubing was used to mimic the selectively permeable membrane to show what
osmosis does when placed in different solute concentrations. We filled the dialysis tubes with different
percentages of solute and placed them in beakers full of another percentage of solute. Through this
experiment, I saw what happens when the tube becomes hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic. If two
solutions have unequal osmotic concentrations, the solution with the higher concentration is
hypertonic, and the solution with lower concentration is hypotonic. (Raven et al. 98) When two
solutions have the same osmotic concentration, the solutions are isotonic. (Raven et al. 98) My
hypothesis was that the bags placed in hypertonic solutions would shrink because the water would
leave the bag to go to the higher concentration. The bags placed in isotonic solutions would stay the
same weight because the water would be going in and out evenly. The bags placed in hypotonic
solutions would swell because water would rush into the cell where the higher concentration was. If
bag A shrinks then it is hypertonic. If bag B stays the same, then it is isotonic. If bag C and D swell,
then they are hypotonic.
METHODS
To conduct this experiment we used four pieces of dialysis tubing, four pieces of string, one beaker
filled with 10% sucrose and another beaker filled

Progressive Reform
The rise of modern American liberalism throughout the history
Having been born in Europe in the epoch of Renaissance and Reformation, the liberalism has become
an inevitable part of the United States. When someone and somewhere talks about the liberal
movement, everybody will mention the American liberalism, which has undergone several stages of
its development and transformed into modern liberalism. This liberalism allows the United States to
be one of the most powerful states in the world.
Since its origin, the United States did not know different political philosophy but liberalism in its
democratic constitutional form. The liberal doctrine in the United States was influenced by some
factors the impact of the American Revolution ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It claims on different freedoms of people despite their gender, race, and age. Also, one of the
principles of American liberalism is the separation of state and church. The main aim of liberalism is
to promote the general welfare of the American citizens. However, sometimes the liberalism was too
controversial. For example, the involvement of the United States to the wars violated the rights of
people. Speaking about the WWI, George William Norris wrote that war brings no prosperity to the
great mass of common and patriotic citizens. It increases the cost of living of those who toil and those
who already must strain every effort to keep soul and body together. War brings prosperity to the stock
gambler on Wall Street to those who are already in possession of more wealth than can be realized or
enjoyed (149).
Such eager of American people to live in a free society is well understandable and can be explained by
several factors as well. The ultimate goal of the American social ideal is equality of opportunity and
individual initiative. These are not born of bureaucracy. This ideal is the expression of the spirit of our
people. This ideal obtained at the birth of Republic. It was the ideal of Lincoln; it is the ideal upon

Carl Rogers And Psychodynamic Research
It is inevitable that in psychotherapy there are numerous theories. Theories arise out of scholarly
investigations of ideas on human behavior. Human behavior is an extraordinarily interesting subject
and therefore produces a plethora of ideas from a variety of theorists. These theorists are influenced by
their education, culture, and time period. One influential theorist is Carl Rogers. His contributions to
human behavior have changed many of the theories that preceded him, and his theory contributed to
many theories that followed. I want to explore Client/Person Centered Therapy. This is a type of
therapy that was pioneered by Carl Rogers. This therapy is different because as the name suggests it

Thus, the client would have to be categorized with the assumption that he has experienced in his past
severed free and open communication with his peers . This would mean that a client with clear and
reciprocated communication with her loved ones would not find use in Client Centered Therapy.
According to Truscott (2010), our efforts to feel good about ourselves we tend to try to incorporate
others expectations― thereby denying our true selves and adopting instead a conditional self―
resulting in feelings of disorganization and emotional pain. If, on the other hand, we experience
genuineness, nonjudgmental caring, and empathy in our relationships with others, then we can achieve
our potential as persons (p.70 71). Thus, a client with emotional support can manage his feelings
easier then someone without any emotional support. This still leaves the client with emotional support
with the expectation that she should not have any difficulty with expressing her emotions. It is
apparent that Rogers main goal was to create an environment for the client in which he will eventually
be able to independently understand and express his feelings. Truscott (2010) reported according to
the person centered, humanistic worldview that,
When we are fully functioning we are then able to make healthy decisions and set goals for ourselves

An Ethical Photographer Should Do For Our Last Position...
Introduction:
Kevin Carter, the south African photographer, is famous for a photograph named Struggling Girl. In
1993, while on a trip to Sudan, Carter found a Sudanese toddler stalked by a vulture. The vulture is
waiting for the girl to die and to eat her but Carter stopped and took a picture instead of helping the
girl. Hundreds of people feel mad about the photograph because Carter only used the girl to take
photograph, and left her away. Ironically, the photograph won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature
Photography in 1994. (1) As an ethical photographer, I believe it is unethical to take photos for
vulnerable subjects and then left them away.
Body:
Photographers is allowed to take photos for vulnerable subjects, because those photos can easily

guarantor first and give them some prizes later are the two most important things that an ethical
photographer should do. For our last position statement about Jill Greenberg. She also took some
photos about vulnerable subjects which are crying toddlers. I believe Jill is an ethical photographer
because the children were either professionally hired or her friend s children (and include her
daughter). Also, she offered some candy to all toddlers which can make them have a happy face
quickly. As for what Carter did in Sudan, it is totally unacceptable. After he found a girl who had

Crop Yield And Juice Quality
4.1 Crop yield and juice quality
Soil sickness of sugarcane monoculture, expressed as a reduction of cane yield, stalk diameter and
biomass when sugarcane is cultivated on the same soil sequentially, is one of the foremost problems in
sugarcane production, particularly in field conditions (Li et al. 2015; Li and Yang, 2015). Sugarcane is
an important crop in Guangxi, China, but due to its long duration annual economic returns tend to be
lower than some other crops. Intercropping of short duration crops with sugarcane could increase
benefits. Our result showed that lower sugarcane yield under monoculture system in both the
locations, but intercropping systems had minor enhancement although it is not statistically significant.
Moreover, sugarcane with soybean intercropping had higher productivity than monoculture and
sugarcane with peanut. These results indicated that intercropping sugarcane with soybean was
beneficial for sugarcane yield and soil sickness relieving. The same yield promoting effect had also
been observed in sugarcane potato (Singh et al. 2010), soybean sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al.
2013) and sugarcane cassava intercropping (Li et al. 2015). Thereafter, quality of cane juice was also
showed no significant effect with intercropping and these results also correlated with previous
research on sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al. 2013). However, intercrops selection should carefully
consider the excessive risk of inter specific competition. Kaur et al.

That will also be true if the egg comes from the nucleus donor s mother, because mitochondria are
inherited maternally. Multiple clones might also be produced by transferring identical nuclei to eggs
from a single donor. If the somatic cell nucleus and the egg come from different individuals, they will
not be identical to the nuclear donor because the clones will have somewhat different mitochondrial
genes. Cloning by embryo splitting. This procedure begins with in vitro fertilization (IVF): the union
outside the woman s body of a sperm and an egg to generate a zygote. The zygote (from here onwards
also called an embryo) divides into two and then four identical cells. At this stage, the cells can be
separated and allowed to develop into separate but identical blastocysts, which can then be implanted
in a uterus. The limited developmental potential of the cells means that the procedure cannot be
repeated, so embryo splitting can yield only two identical mice and probably no more than four
identical humans. The DNA in embryo splitting is contributed by germ cells from two individuals the
mother who contributed the egg and the father who contributed the sperm. Thus, the embryos, like
those formed naturally or by standard IVF, have two parents. Their mitochondrial DNA is identical.
Because this method of cloning is identical with the natural formation of monozygotic twins and, in
rare cases, even quadruplets, it is not discussed in detail in this

Zombie banks
What are zombie banks
The term zombie bank was first introduced by Edward Kane in 1987 to describe a bank that has a
negative net worth but still continues to operate. A negative net worth means that the fair value of
assets is lower than the total value of liabilities. Zombie banks usually have large amounts of non
performing assets on their balance sheets making them unprofitable. A loan is considered to be a non
performing asset if no principal payments or interest have been paid for 90 days and is therefore seen
to be in jeopardy of default. The fair value of an asset that is considered non performing is
considerably reduced. Zombie banks usually continue to operate until their financial situation is
resolved or they are run ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, Japan went into a prolonged period of deflation that lasted for most of the 1990 s. In order
to boost demand, the Japanese government took a Keynesian approach and went through 10 fiscal
stimulus packages in 1990 s totaling over 100 trillion yen (10). However, this didn t have the desired
effect on demand because of deflation. Consumers were putting off purchase decisions because prices
were falling. The real GDP stagnated and average growth between 1990 and 2001 was only 0.37%

The European debt crisis began in 2009 when rating agency s downgraded Greek government and

to the crisis by quickly lowering the interest rate to 1% in May 2009 (14). Furthermore, the ECB

Suicide Note Poem Analysis
The poem Suicide Note , written by Janice Mirikitani (1987), talks about a young lady, who has study
in an Asian American female college. The lady, unfortunately, commits suicide by jumping out her
dormitory s window. She left behind a note, citing reasons that led to her actions. After a critical
analysis of the note, her parents were held responsible for her actions; they were pressurizing her to
perform better on her exams. The poem describes the feelings and the emotions of this young lady,
who believes that committing suicide is the only option left to please her parents and to escape the
enormous pressure placed on her. The persona uses a voice in the poem to bring attention to the
suffering she was going through and that led to the devastating event. Voice in poetry is the strong
words of a line or stanza that creates a relationship between the audience and the persona. Also, voice
can be categorized as imagery patterns of sounds created by rhythm, tone, and diction (Gahern 166).
The following is a description of how the voice in Mirikitani s suicide note help readers understand
the imagery, metaphor, sound patterns, tone and dictation.
Ink smeared like bird prints in snow is the first simile that appears in the poem and serve multiple
purposes. The most obvious one is the creation of imagery, where it compares the black words the
persona writes on paper to the bird s foot prints that are left behind when a bird walks on snow. The
imagery alludes to the persona

Casual Factors There are several causal factors that led to this event. The National Transportation

failure to discontinue the approach when severe thunderstorms and their associated hazards to flight
operations had moved in the airport area, and the crew s failure to ensure that the spoilers had

the intent to land under the circumstances, (2) continuation of the approach to a landing when the

Electronic Commerce ( E Commerce )
The development of new technological innovations, such as the Internet, has brought on changes for
the market. The Internet offers a world wide network, which connects millions of individuals and
businesses and creates a global marketplace with huge business opportunities (E business, eEurope,
n.d). More and more companies have discovered the advantage of using the Internet as a
communication tool to reach consumers at any place and at any time. This also enables consumers to

Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and
privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their
identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud
(Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they
trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of
physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are
used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or
not applicable in an online environment (Grabner KrÀuter Kaluscha, 2003). Many consumers
appreciate the real shopping experience of touching things and trying items on. So, in order to
understand why people do or do not engage in e commerce activities, it is important to study online
trust (Cazier et al., 2006).
Trust is an essential tool for a transaction to take place, both in an online and offline environment. In e
commerce, the Internet vendors as well as their websites can be trust building sources in themselves.
So, it is important for companies to learn how to manage consumers trust in e commerce. Although,
building consumer trust on the Internet is a challenge for online vendors. For this

Tare Research Paper
Scholars believe tares are darnel (a noxious weedy rye grass often found in grain fields), whose seeds
become toxic when certain fungi infest them, which in turn, renders them harmful to cash crops such
as wheat. Uprooting them also uproots the wheat; therefore, farmers leave them in the ground until
harvest time when the chaff can be safely separated from the grain and subsequently burnt. Good and
evil similarly co exist in the local church, which underscores the for all people aspect Church.
However, problems arise when error receives equal voice to the Truth. The Truth shakes up the
Church. Only Christ (The Word of Truth) can separate wheat from tares, truth from falsehood, and fact
from fiction. Like an ox, threshing grain tied to a millstone, the worshiping church must circle God s
Truth threshing out disciples. Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out grain (1 Cor 9: 9), St Paul
warns. In other words, do not hinder or silence those who are doing Christ s work. Because it was a
common activity in ancient times, the Old Testament often mentions threshing grain. For example,
Solomon built his temple on the threshing floor David bought from Oman the Jebusite (1 Chron.

Chapter One
Theorising Identity and The Search for The Self among the sub continental Diaspora in Britain
Identity has always been a problematic area of interrogation epistemologically, existentially and
politically and it continues to propel our thought. Etymologically, the term is derived from Latin word
Idem meaning same (Oxford Online Dictionary) which means specific quality or condition of being a
specific person or an object . A person s identity is determined in terms of his/her inherited traditions,
particularly the inherited religion of the community in which they happen to be born, the place and

The concept of Identity has been defined and studied in different fields of studies ranging from
Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology and Cultural Studies.
Recent trends in Psychology on Identity Theory: In the recent past identity is seen as a self narrative
which is held as the base for the construct of a person s identity. The behaviour in salience to the
social setting is the base of identity formation. The Identity Theory (Stryker 1968, 1980, 1989; Stryker
and Serpe 1982, Mc Calls and Simmons 1978, R.H. Turner 1978) explains social behaviour in terms
of the reciprocal relationship between the self and the society . The term is used to define the links
between a multifaceted notion of the self and wider social structure. (Burke 1980; Mc Call and
Simmons 1978; R.H. Turner 1978). It is an extension of the symbolic interactionist theory postulated
by Mead (1934) and Blumer (1969) that society influences social behaviour through its affects on the
self (Micheal A Hogg, et al.). However, the Identity theory rejects the symbolic interactionist theory as
relatively undifferentiated, co operative whole (Stryker 1980, 1987; Stryker and Serpe 1982) and
argues that society is complexly differentiated, but nevertheless organized (Stryker and Serpe
1982:206) and thus predicated the idea of the

Why Do You Do Not Your Favorite Tv Show And During The...
Introduction Scenario: you are watching your favorite TV show and during the commercial break an
advertisement comes on for a brand new device that potty trains puppies. If you have a puppy and
understand how wild and untamed they are, this offer would not only seem heaven sent, but interest
you, making you more likely to think deeply about whether or not to buy the product. However, if you
do not own a puppy, you would quickly lose interest in the commercial and it is extremely unlikely
that you would give it much thought after the commercial is over. Why is it that things that peak our
interest are more likely to stimulate our deep thoughts while things that are less relevant to us do not?
The Elaboration Likelihood Theory explains just that. It analyzes how variables such as motivation,
processing, ability, and persuasion play a role in how much thought we give to a certain message.
From the puppy commercial, to major things such as the digitization of health records and the
upcoming presidential election, the Elaboration Likelihood Theory explains our likelihood of thinking
about and acting on a certain message. Description of Theory The Elaboration Likelihood Theory
describes a person s likelihood of critically evaluating a message s arguments and evidence. This
theory has four major variables that help predict this likelihood, the first one being motivation.
Motivation asks a very simple yet important question: Is the message relevant? (Dainton, M., Zelley,

people just trying to feed their son and keep their house, yet the same good guys in the audience who
would frown on prostitution, enthusiastically support burglary as a practical comedic maneuver. Yet, if
Dick and Jane are on the path of immorality, as conveyed by their society s parameters, they might as
well have went with prostitution as a way to make money. With Jane being such an amazing looking
woman, she could have easily earned thousands of dollars a day escorting swanky businessmen, thus
attaining the goal of quick cash less unlawfully.
The movie snidely communicates to us that dressing up as Sonny and Cher to commit armed robbery,
or taking your neighbor s car and driving it through a jewelry store window is less shameful than
selling your body. The definition of robbery is the act of robbing from a person or presence of another
by violence or threat which is considered a felony; prostituting or escorting

Jewish Experience in The Painted Bird and Mr. Sammler s...
During the Holocaust about three and a half million Jewish people were killed, that is three million
people that were of the oldest religion in existence, Judaism. The Jewish faith can be traced back up to
6000 years. There is one common denominator throughout those six thousand years, persecution. The
violence and casting out of the Jews did not begin with the Holocaust, anti semantic actions have been
in society for thousands of years, and yet the people of this faith are still present in today s world. To
understand why Saul Bellows and Jerzy Kosinski wrote Mr. Sammler s Planet and The Painted Bird,
the reader must understand the reality of the suffering inflicted upon the Jewish people. Without this
understanding, the themes of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sammler s Planet. This journey is seen on two completely different levels, that of a child living in the
experience and that of a man remembering the experience. The points of view used by Bellows and
Kosinski are completely diverse from each other. The child in The Painted Bird reacts only on what he
hears and sees while Mr. Sammler can reflect upon his thoughts with an intelligence only brought
forth through life experiences and age. In Bellow s novel the reader is given an inside view to
Sammler s thoughts, so the journey he takes to rediscover or redefine his faith is evident. Sammler s
recollection on killing the soldier to save his own life defines for the reader a perfect example of the
self admitted lack of faith Sammler possessed as well as the readmission of his relationship with God.
To kill the man and to kill him without pity, for he was dispensed from pity.
There was a flash, a blot of fiery white. When he shot again it was less to make
sure of the man than to try again for that bliss. To drink more flames. He would
have thanked God for that opportunity. If he had had any God. At that time he did
not. For many years, in his own mind, there was no judge but himself.
(Bellow 141).
In The Painted Bird the young protagonist also has a journey through faith, but it is much different
than the journey Bellow s protagonist takes. The innocence of the small Jewish boy is due to his age.
At such a young age things tend to just be the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dual Executive
The structure and formation of the EU executive has proved to be a major debate over the years. The
major question which continues to arise is: Should the EU have a dual executive where policy making
is divided amongst the Commission and the Council? Or should the EU have a single institution where
either the Commission or the Council has a more dominant and superior leadership role? Simon Hix
defines this dual executive model as a separation of powers (Hix and Hoyland 2011). In order to
understand whether this separation is good or bad we must outline the power each institution has and
inevitably their role in the formation of policy making in the European Executive. Over the course of
this essay I shall discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a dual executive model on an EU level.
Before understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the dual executive we must recognise the power
of the Council and the Commission. Firstly, The Council (ie Council of Ministers) is an institution
which represents the interests of the member states. The Council has two main policy making powers;
to reject or pass proposals that derive from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, Herman Van Rompuy is the president of the European Council and Jean Claude Juncker is the
president of the European Commission. But the question is, who is the real leader? There are
imminent questions on who is responsible for what, who makes decisions and inevitably who do we
blame when things go wrong. Take a look at governments around the world. Not one government
beside the French government follow this dual character that being A Prime Minister and President
from different offices with separate powers. Instead democracies have chosen a single executive
where there is a clear leader with clear undertakings. The problem with two separate leaders with
equal power is that they have ill defined tasks. This is a serious drawback of the dual

Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions
Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live, can
be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research. The
process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that either
refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching. While that
which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an assumption.
Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make inferences based
from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to critical thinking or
reason. Furthermore, out of naiveté we seek to refute conclusions to that which we do not want to
belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to what we desire; for in such
manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we hastily accept an assumption
that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little mind to the validity of the
assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward improper inquiry. This is human
nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the catalyst to our own servility by
standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and research. Humans can be placed in any
situation and we will start to give it some kind of meaning in hopes to gain a basis for

Abstract The utilization of PC systems for information transmissions has made the need of security.
The security of this intuitive media data should be possible with encryption or information concealing
calculations. To diminish the transmission time, the information pressure is necessary. Since couple of
years, an issue is to attempt to join pressure, encryption and information covering up in a solitary
stride. Picture security turns out to be progressively critical for some applications, e.g., secret
transmission, video reconnaissance, military and therapeutic applications. These days, the
transmission of pictures is an every day routine and it is important to locate a proficient approach to
transmit them over systems. They send Secret message over channel utilizing Cryptography and
Steganography calculations by AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). It is utilized to scramble the
information from plain content to figure content the other way around. There are two sorts of keys
accessible in the cryptography, symmetric and asymmetric. There are utilizing symmetric key which is
separated into two key, for example, private and open key. Open key is utilized for encryption and
private key is utilized for decoding. The reversible information concealing method is utilized to
recover the information and picture

Should Chinese Immigrants Be Allowed In America
On 1/27/2017, President Trump signed executive orders on prohibiting citizens of certain countries
from entering the US for the two months and suspending the access of all refugees for four months.
Americans, especially those who are from seven Muslim countries, were shocked and outraged After
Trump s executive orders were announced. A lot of protests were going on at the airports all over the
country because of Trump s travel ban. Most people think it is not acceptable in America because
America is a freedom country. However, when looking back at American history, Chinese immigrants
used to have the same situation. In 1882, the Chinese Exclusion Act, which was to prevent a particular
ethnic group from moving into the US was declared; however, it was removed by the US congress in
1943. Despite of that incident, Chinese immigrants are still increasing by years. There are ... Show

Modern Chinese immigrants decide move to the US looking for freedom and safety place to live. They
feel unsafe in a society where government has the power to control everything. Most people in China
do not know about the existence of Google, Facebook or YouTube. Branigan (2009) stated that China
government had used Great Firewall software to block those websites for no reason. The truth is that
China government does not want those American companies impact on people thoughts. Google,
YouTube and Facebook provide vast information outflow and will affect people thoughts immediately.
As reported by human rights organizations, there are about 400 protests that happen all over the
country every day. Chau Lee a Chinese immigrant studying at San Jose City shared that she left China
and came to America because she wants to live in a society where government protect and listen to
people. Every human being should be protected by laws and everybody committees to obey laws.

The Aztec Of Aztecs And Spanish Conquistadors
The events that occurred between the Aztecs and Spanish Conquistadors have many sides and
opportunities for debate. One of the most debated topics being; Who was more savage and who was
more Civil? Both the Aztecs and Spanish had powerful and thriving empires. These empires displayed
their dominance through their advanced technology and flourishing military. Though it may seem that
the Spanish were more advanced than the Aztecs, the Aztecs and Spanish were actually quite close to
being equal in technological advancements.
The Aztec empire has been said to be the greatest engineers in the Americas and rival the Roman
Empire in technology. The Aztec Empire had luxurious pyramids, temples and a gleaming capital city
called Tenochtitlan, that in its golden years, was said to house over 200,000 250,000 Aztecs.
Tenochtitlan was larger than Rome, London and Madrid put together. On top of it s large population,
the people and streets were very pristine. The Tenochtitlan citizens took daily baths to ensure they
were fully clean. Infact, Tenochtitlan had public baths and lavatories for the citizens.
Tenochtitlan was built on a lake island called Aztlan and over the lake, the Aztecs built fertile, floating
farms called Chinampas .The people who inhabited the Aztlan Island were originally called the
Mexica people. The name Aztec is derived from the name of the Island. However primitive this
empire may seem, the Emperors were quite affluent. They had lavish possessions

  • 2. Collinsville Flower Monologue Mine. Just mine. You hear? His haunting words corrupt her golden, sweet morning, barking in her mind as if taunting her to what she is to him. A mere belonging, his pet, his toy. In the dreadful year of 1936, women are minor belongings to own. To command by brooding, dark eyes and intimidating tall figures of men. However in that moment, Adriana s focus is stolen by the woman through the window of a well known supermarket in Collinsville, Alabama. She keeps her dilated eyes steady on the mysterious woman, as she gazes into her piercing green eyes, that softly dissolve into a pale blue as they stray from the centre. Her chestnut brown hair that is done up in a tight bun, hinting blonde as the blinding sun shines down to transform the staggering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Five minutes. Her eyes focused on the native cardinal wildflowers, sprouting on the side of her path to destiny. The blood red colour stains the murky brown soil as if showing off its colour with arrogance for all of the citizens in Collinsville. Flowers that are said to restore love with their blush red pigment, yet flowers that are deemed as poisonous entirely due to the envious green leaves. A flower that stole the female s consciousness, yet the flower she strolls past to continue her journey. Two minutes. All views simply fading from her mind into thin oblivion as her eyes focus on the rich soil path leading to the train station, always crowded by ghosts with no conscience; however, now the ghosts are transparent as no one is present. Walking towards the isolated tree, Adriana stands in perplexment as to why her true love is absent. A moist drop lands on her cheek, as a metallic smell arises opposite of water from rain. Her hand leads up to wipe the liquid, as a sharp intake of breath is audible when wide emerald eyes meet a blush red rather than clarity A sharp hum fills her mind, starting gradual but heightening in sound, piercing ferociously through her ears, and numbing her mind. Her airway blocks as if someone has sharply dug their hand down to her soul, and latched onto her heart. Adriana s chest heaves up and down rapidly, struggling to allow the once sweet air within. Hesitance clouds her conscience, as her eyes hesitantly trail to see the source of the bloody rain that falls from the sky. His round nose, his dusky complexion, frilly careless hair, black pants that cling to strong legs, and a white stained shirt that fills with winds that once were familiar. • 3. The Gunpowder Plot Of 1605 The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 reveals a deep and rich history of the animosity between the Protestant and Catholic sects of the Christian Church. The official tale tells of Catholic conspirators planning to kill King James I and a majority of Parliament in a statement against Protestantism. Though Robert Cecil caught Guy Fawkes in the cellar of the Parliament Building and many associated with the plot possessed good reason to attempt a mass killing against a predominantly Protestant government, large amounts of evidence suggest that Protestants likely framed the Catholics for an attempt on King James and a majority of Parliament s lives. When considering the time period, England held a large monopoly on the sale of gunpowder, preventing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Elizabeth planned to have James give Catholics false hope, pretending that she gave the throne to the Catholics. Elizabeth proceeded to set the Gunpowder Plot so that James may fully deal with the Catholics, hiding a Protestant Guy Fawkes with the Catholics and starting the plot with Catesby. Considering the influence religion held in the time period, Guy Fawkes and Robert Catesby more than likely sacrificed their lives for the Anglican Protestant Church, convincing more radical Catholics to join their faux plan, while secretly planning to defame the Catholic name and to accuse their entire Catholic group of treason. When Robert Cecil captured Fawkes, Fawkes proceeds to state that there was no trick, essentially killing himself as a scapegoat for his beloved Protestant Church. Had Fawkes been a Catholic, he could have destroyed a large part of Parliament with little proof or remains of Catholic involvement as the first suicide bomber; instead, he peaceably accepted arrest and ... The Tecumseh Historical Society has an extensive amount of information on the Hayden family. Because of the amount of information I will have to then sort out the information that would not be useful toward my project, and then focus on the information that will enrich the project. The Historical Society may also have contact information to reach descendants of the Hayden family who might be willing to set up a time to perform an interview. For this project, I believe the Tecumseh Historical Society will be my greatest asset. When attempting to answer the question, I would first start to search through the archives to find the information that addresses my question I plan to break it into the three categories of Ford s influence on the the local community, the economy, and the technology. In these categories I can break them up in the many different sub categories as well. When answering my question of Henry Ford s influence on the community, I plan on breaking it up in to several sub categories as well. The categories that I would like to break economics into are the following: the mill, economy of the citizens, and economy of the city as a whole. One sources that I have is a newspaper article that discusses the involvement of Henry Ford allowing citizens of the city to have a career. • 6. Gears and Simple Machines Gears are part of one of the six simple machines, the wheel and axle. Simple machines, such as the wheel and axle, are mechanisms created to make difficult work much easier. The six simple machines consist of the inclined plane, screw, lever, pulley, wedge, and wheel and axle. Gears can be found in many household items today. For example, watches, bicycles, and pencil sharpeners. The most common object, in which gears are found, is the car. The car s steering wheel is a simple machine, called the wheel and axle. Gears however, are not found in the steering wheel, but are located in the engine. The gears are then controlled by the gear shift, which spins the gears around, causing the car to move or brake. Gears are circular objects that have teeth all around the outer rim, or just a wheel with teeth. When in movement, if a singular gear s teeth fit into a second gear, it will cause that second gear to rotate in the opposite direction of the first gear. This can then be continued by adding more gears, which in turn create a system of gears. A gear system can be used to function a machine, such as car s gear shift. This system is called a gear train. Whichever gear starts the gear train by rotating is called the driver. The final gear on the opposite end of the train is called the driven gear. Meshed Gears is a gear train of five or more gears. There are many other gear types such as Spur gears, bevel gears, worm gears, rack gears, and internal gears. All these gears are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The result is that a needed change effort is derailed. The first step is not to create a vision. This is especially true if your organization is in crisis, if alligators are nipping at your feet. If they stand on a burning platform, they have no choice but to take immediate action, to jump away from their comfortable positions. Assembling a team to discuss the organization s new vision won t be very successful, because team members will be worried more about self preservation than the new vision. Table 3 shows the results of the time until separation sub analysis. • 9. How Does North Replace A Contradiction In Neoclassical... North illuminates a contradiction in neoclassical economic theory as it relates to structure and change in political economic systems. On one hand, North demonstrates that neoclassical theory fails to fully explain what causes economic change, and is particularly deficient in explaining the emergence of various ideologies. On the other hand, he presents evidence that rational individual behavior explains specific institutional choices that result in change, both positive and negative. He attempts to resolve this contradiction by offering theories of the state, organizations, and ideology. However, his argument seems reducible to a statement that political economic institutions change when the benefits of change outweigh the costs, and persist otherwise. His path dependency goes beyond explaining from where the present system emerged by assuming the components of the current system always existed. For instance, North s discussion of free ridership and the tragedy of the commons in hunter gather societies ten millennia in the past illustrates this assumption. He also compares all historical systems against the modern definition of the market to show why those previous systems failed to function properly. By focusing on the constraints and inefficiencies imposed by previous political systems, institutions, and ideologies, North seems to be arguing that if only those did not exist the system would have been efficient in essence, a liberal economic argument founded upon a capitalist ideology. North s emphasis on markets and self interest, rather than alternative models (e.g., reciprocity and altruism) suggests a view of history colored by a specific ideological bent. Common Examples Of Child Protective Service In 2002 there was estimated to be nearly 3 million referrals to Child Protective Services (CPS) in the United States, and about 5 million in the year 2000 (McWey Mullis, 2004). Children who are living in environments that put them in harms way, depending on the situation are generally removed from their home and placed into a foster home in attempts to keep them safe (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006). Common examples of Child Protective Service (CPS) referrals include physical abuse, sexual abuse, and psychological maltreatment (McWey Mullis, 2004). In 2001 it was estimated that nearly 542,000 children were in foster care in the United States and that the number of children in foster care exceeded the number of available foster homes by nearly 30 40% (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006). For many children in foster care, reunification with biological parent or parents is the ultimate goal (McWey, Acock Porter, 2010). In 60% of foster care cases, reunification with biological parents occurs (Carlson, Egeland Lawrence, 2006) .In order for reunification to be possible, or to help determine whether reunification can occur, children and biological parents have scheduled visits with trained supervisors who monitor the visits (Haight, Kagle Black, 2003). Those rights may conflict with the rights of the intended parents both legally and ethically. As we consider the contracts used in surrogacy and previous court cases, we have a more concise ruling on the borders of the end of the surrogate s rights and the beginning of the intended parent s rights. Since the intended parents initiate the process, they should receive their intentions, but it should be regulated. Because of this, regulation of surrogacy is important, especially in terms of those who are not the ones who initiate the process. Their efforts should be recognized in some form along with appreciation for their cooperation. As a surrogate, they should remember what the purpose of the process is and stick to what they were assigned and agreed to do. Intended parents should understand that when a third party is involved disagreements will occur and compromise should be exerted. We are constantly told that if we wish to be successful, then we must get a degree. However, with the rising costs, it s seeming like fewer people are willing or able to take the next step into higher education. Cries about the sheer insanity of the rising costs blur into a cacophony of anger and frustration. The discussion of whether it s even worth the cost have also begun becoming popular, though this is its own discussion and shall not be explored here. Perhaps this is because their costs do not react as fast to market forces as does the private sector. Prices are normally set, and then remain relatively stable regardless of the day to day changes in the market. A private business can, and will, change its prices in order to maintain an equilibrium of supply and demand. During a recession, this means lowering prices in order to combat the lowering demand for their products. Colleges and Universities on the other hand react differently to a recession. They raise their prices to combat budget cuts from the State and Federal levels. They still have their costs for teaching their students, and these costs do not normally change as quickly as the overall CPI. This would lead to the belief that college prices would fall again at the end of a recession, but colleges and universities are always hesitant to lower tuition. Coupled with the slower reaction time of colleges from market forces, the price stays at its elevated level far into the economic recovery. It would seem that the Economics 101 story around higher education for the past few decades would go something like this: for various reasons, government has decided to increase demand for higher education massively, via increased subsidies, and in particular student loans; meanwhile, supply has not kept up. Intrinsic Vs Intrinsic Motivation Extrinsic Vs Intrinsic Motivation and How They Should Come Together Angelo Grant Wilmington University Author Note This short paper is submitted to satisfy course requirements of MGT 6503 Introduction Most folks in the workforce believe they are obligated to do their best at their job simply because that is what is expected. I am one of those individuals who take pride in my job and I do it well but set a part from being a way to afford life s expenses, I m always in search of my legacy. The legacy I want is embodied in my desire to showcase a body of work that demonstrates the three units of intrinsic motivation that Dan Pink attributes to the most creative workers; Autonomy, Mastery, and Purpose (Pink 2009). On the other hand, there are those folks out there that want to only do as much as they can get away with doing. Regardless of which type of employee makes up, an organization, leaders need to understand the science and application of motivation in business processes. Motivation comes in many forms such as money, benefits, or simple recognition; extrinsic and intrinsic. The right type of motivation can lead to exponentially higher productivity and profits and that is what we are all looking for in business. • 19. The Diffusion Of Water Across A Permeable Membrane Essay INTRODUCTION Osmosis is the diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane (Raven et al. G 16). In this experiment, dialysis tubing was used to mimic the selectively permeable membrane to show what osmosis does when placed in different solute concentrations. We filled the dialysis tubes with different percentages of solute and placed them in beakers full of another percentage of solute. Through this experiment, I saw what happens when the tube becomes hypertonic, hypotonic, and isotonic. If two solutions have unequal osmotic concentrations, the solution with the higher concentration is hypertonic, and the solution with lower concentration is hypotonic. (Raven et al. 98) When two solutions have the same osmotic concentration, the solutions are isotonic. (Raven et al. 98) My hypothesis was that the bags placed in hypertonic solutions would shrink because the water would leave the bag to go to the higher concentration. The bags placed in isotonic solutions would stay the same weight because the water would be going in and out evenly. The bags placed in hypotonic solutions would swell because water would rush into the cell where the higher concentration was. If bag A shrinks then it is hypertonic. If bag B stays the same, then it is isotonic. If bag C and D swell, then they are hypotonic. METHODS To conduct this experiment we used four pieces of dialysis tubing, four pieces of string, one beaker filled with 10% sucrose and another beaker filled ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It claims on different freedoms of people despite their gender, race, and age. Also, one of the principles of American liberalism is the separation of state and church. The main aim of liberalism is to promote the general welfare of the American citizens. However, sometimes the liberalism was too controversial. For example, the involvement of the United States to the wars violated the rights of people. Speaking about the WWI, George William Norris wrote that war brings no prosperity to the great mass of common and patriotic citizens. It increases the cost of living of those who toil and those who already must strain every effort to keep soul and body together. War brings prosperity to the stock gambler on Wall Street to those who are already in possession of more wealth than can be realized or enjoyed (149). Such eager of American people to live in a free society is well understandable and can be explained by several factors as well. The ultimate goal of the American social ideal is equality of opportunity and individual initiative. These are not born of bureaucracy. This ideal is the expression of the spirit of our people. • 21. Carl Rogers And Psychodynamic Research It is inevitable that in psychotherapy there are numerous theories. Theories arise out of scholarly investigations of ideas on human behavior. Human behavior is an extraordinarily interesting subject and therefore produces a plethora of ideas from a variety of theorists. These theorists are influenced by their education, culture, and time period. One influential theorist is Carl Rogers. His contributions to human behavior have changed many of the theories that preceded him, and his theory contributed to many theories that followed. I want to explore Client/Person Centered Therapy. Thus, the client would have to be categorized with the assumption that he has experienced in his past severed free and open communication with his peers . This would mean that a client with clear and reciprocated communication with her loved ones would not find use in Client Centered Therapy. According to Truscott (2010), our efforts to feel good about ourselves we tend to try to incorporate others expectations― thereby denying our true selves and adopting instead a conditional self― resulting in feelings of disorganization and emotional pain. If, on the other hand, we experience genuineness, nonjudgmental caring, and empathy in our relationships with others, then we can achieve our potential as persons (p.70 71). Thus, a client with emotional support can manage his feelings easier then someone without any emotional support. This still leaves the client with emotional support with the expectation that she should not have any difficulty with expressing her emotions. It is apparent that Rogers main goal was to create an environment for the client in which he will eventually be able to independently understand and express his feelings. Truscott (2010) reported according to the person centered, humanistic worldview that, When we are fully functioning we are then able to make healthy decisions and set goals for ourselves that ... In 1993, while on a trip to Sudan, Carter found a Sudanese toddler stalked by a vulture. The vulture is waiting for the girl to die and to eat her but Carter stopped and took a picture instead of helping the girl. Hundreds of people feel mad about the photograph because Carter only used the girl to take photograph, and left her away. Ironically, the photograph won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography in 1994. (1) As an ethical photographer, I believe it is unethical to take photos for vulnerable subjects and then left them away. Sugarcane is an important crop in Guangxi, China, but due to its long duration annual economic returns tend to be lower than some other crops. Intercropping of short duration crops with sugarcane could increase benefits. Our result showed that lower sugarcane yield under monoculture system in both the locations, but intercropping systems had minor enhancement although it is not statistically significant. Moreover, sugarcane with soybean intercropping had higher productivity than monoculture and sugarcane with peanut. These results indicated that intercropping sugarcane with soybean was beneficial for sugarcane yield and soil sickness relieving. The same yield promoting effect had also been observed in sugarcane potato (Singh et al. 2010), soybean sugarcane intercropping (Yang et al. 2013) and sugarcane cassava intercropping (Li et al. 2015). Multiple clones might also be produced by transferring identical nuclei to eggs from a single donor. If the somatic cell nucleus and the egg come from different individuals, they will not be identical to the nuclear donor because the clones will have somewhat different mitochondrial genes. Cloning by embryo splitting. This procedure begins with in vitro fertilization (IVF): the union outside the woman s body of a sperm and an egg to generate a zygote. The zygote (from here onwards also called an embryo) divides into two and then four identical cells. At this stage, the cells can be separated and allowed to develop into separate but identical blastocysts, which can then be implanted in a uterus. The limited developmental potential of the cells means that the procedure cannot be repeated, so embryo splitting can yield only two identical mice and probably no more than four identical humans. The DNA in embryo splitting is contributed by germ cells from two individuals the mother who contributed the egg and the father who contributed the sperm. Thus, the embryos, like those formed naturally or by standard IVF, have two parents. Their mitochondrial DNA is identical. Contributing factors of the flight crews determination to land in the inclement weather are: (1) impaired performance resulting from miscommunication associated with the intent to land under the circumstances, (2) continuation of the approach to a landing when the company s maximum crosswind component was exceeded, (3) failure of the spoilers to deploy, and (4) use of reverse thrust greater than 1.3 engine pressure ratio after landing. Thus, there is a need for promoting trust and confidence on the Internet. For consumers, security and privacy issues are seen as barriers to shopping online (Windham Orton, 2000). They want their identity and personal information to be confidential, due to fear of being exposed to online fraud (Petrovic et al., 2003). People are more willing to take risks with people or organizations which they trust. The potential risk in e commerce is greater because of the anonymity, distance and lack of physical interactions (Cazier, Shao St. Louis, 2006). Many elements of personal interaction that are used in the offline environment, for example, facial expression, gesture and body language, are lost or not applicable in an online environment (Grabner KrĂ€uter Kaluscha, 2003). Tare Research Paper Scholars believe tares are darnel (a noxious weedy rye grass often found in grain fields), whose seeds become toxic when certain fungi infest them, which in turn, renders them harmful to cash crops such as wheat. Uprooting them also uproots the wheat; therefore, farmers leave them in the ground until harvest time when the chaff can be safely separated from the grain and subsequently burnt. Good and evil similarly co exist in the local church, which underscores the for all people aspect Church. However, problems arise when error receives equal voice to the Truth. The Truth shakes up the Church. Only Christ (The Word of Truth) can separate wheat from tares, truth from falsehood, and fact from fiction. Recent trends in Psychology on Identity Theory: In the recent past identity is seen as a self narrative which is held as the base for the construct of a person s identity. The behaviour in salience to the social setting is the base of identity formation. The Identity Theory (Stryker 1968, 1980, 1989; Stryker and Serpe 1982, Mc Calls and Simmons 1978, R.H. Turner 1978) explains social behaviour in terms of the reciprocal relationship between the self and the society . The term is used to define the links between a multifaceted notion of the self and wider social structure. (Burke 1980; Mc Call and Simmons 1978; R.H. Turner 1978). It is an extension of the symbolic interactionist theory postulated by Mead (1934) and Blumer (1969) that society influences social behaviour through its affects on the self (Micheal A Hogg, et al.). However, the Identity theory rejects the symbolic interactionist theory as relatively undifferentiated, co operative whole (Stryker 1980, 1987; Stryker and Serpe 1982) and argues that society is complexly differentiated, but nevertheless organized (Stryker and Serpe 1982:206) and thus predicated the idea of the ... Introduction Scenario: you are watching your favorite TV show and during the commercial break an advertisement comes on for a brand new device that potty trains puppies. If you have a puppy and understand how wild and untamed they are, this offer would not only seem heaven sent, but interest you, making you more likely to think deeply about whether or not to buy the product. However, if you do not own a puppy, you would quickly lose interest in the commercial and it is extremely unlikely that you would give it much thought after the commercial is over. Why is it that things that peak our interest are more likely to stimulate our deep thoughts while things that are less relevant to us do not? The Elaboration Likelihood Theory explains just that. It analyzes how variables such as motivation, processing, ability, and persuasion play a role in how much thought we give to a certain message. From the puppy commercial, to major things such as the digitization of health records and the upcoming presidential election, the Elaboration Likelihood Theory explains our likelihood of thinking about and acting on a certain message. Description of Theory The Elaboration Likelihood Theory describes a person s likelihood of critically evaluating a message s arguments and evidence. The violence and casting out of the Jews did not begin with the Holocaust, anti semantic actions have been in society for thousands of years, and yet the people of this faith are still present in today s world. To understand why Saul Bellows and Jerzy Kosinski wrote Mr. Sammler s Planet and The Painted Bird, the reader must understand the reality of the suffering inflicted upon the Jewish people. Without this understanding, the themes of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sammler s Planet. This journey is seen on two completely different levels, that of a child living in the experience and that of a man remembering the experience. The points of view used by Bellows and Kosinski are completely diverse from each other. The child in The Painted Bird reacts only on what he hears and sees while Mr. Sammler can reflect upon his thoughts with an intelligence only brought forth through life experiences and age. In Bellow s novel the reader is given an inside view to Sammler s thoughts, so the journey he takes to rediscover or redefine his faith is evident. Sammler s recollection on killing the soldier to save his own life defines for the reader a perfect example of the self admitted lack of faith Sammler possessed as well as the readmission of his relationship with God. To kill the man and to kill him without pity, for he was dispensed from pity. There was a flash, a blot of fiery white. When he shot again it was less to make sure of the man than to try again for that bliss. To drink more flames. He would have thanked God for that opportunity. If he had had any God. At that time he did not. For many years, in his own mind, there was no judge but himself. (Bellow 141). In The Painted Bird the young protagonist also has a journey through faith, but it is much different than the journey Bellow s protagonist takes. The innocence of the small Jewish boy is due to his age. At such a young age things tend to just be the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Dual Executive The structure and formation of the EU executive has proved to be a major debate over the years. The major question which continues to arise is: Should the EU have a dual executive where policy making is divided amongst the Commission and the Council? Or should the EU have a single institution where either the Commission or the Council has a more dominant and superior leadership role? Simon Hix defines this dual executive model as a separation of powers (Hix and Hoyland 2011). In order to understand whether this separation is good or bad we must outline the power each institution has and inevitably their role in the formation of policy making in the European Executive. Over the course of this essay I shall discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a dual executive model on an EU level. Before understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the dual executive we must recognise the power of the Council and the Commission. Firstly, The Council (ie Council of Ministers) is an institution which represents the interests of the member states. The Council has two main policy making powers; to reject or pass proposals that derive from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Today, Herman Van Rompuy is the president of the European Council and Jean Claude Juncker is the president of the European Commission. But the question is, who is the real leader? There are imminent questions on who is responsible for what, who makes decisions and inevitably who do we blame when things go wrong. Take a look at governments around the world. Not one government beside the French government follow this dual character that being A Prime Minister and President from different offices with separate powers. Instead democracies have chosen a single executive where there is a clear leader with clear undertakings. The problem with two separate leaders with equal power is that they have ill defined tasks. This is a serious drawback of the dual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Human Inquiry vs Everday Assumptions Much of the publics conceived notions about the world and the reality in which we innately live, can be explained by contrasting our assumptions against various types of inquiry and research. The process of developing an explanation through testing, investigating, and collecting data that either refutes or supports the original claim is known as inquiry, or the process of researching. While that which is presupposed, or a belief that is used to interpret the world around us, is an assumption. Naturally, we regularly formulate our beliefs based upon our assumptions and make inferences based from these assumptions, however, today this is often done with little regard to critical thinking or reason. Furthermore, out of naivetĂ© we seek to refute conclusions to that which we do not want to belive, pursuing a form of bias from those holding assumptions similar to what we desire; for in such manner, we justify our rejection of the undesirable. On the contrary, we hastily accept an assumption that supports a conclusion we perceive desirable, while giving little mind to the validity of the assumption, or the awareness of a becomingly tolerant society toward improper inquiry. This is human nature, it s unavoidable, but the ignorance thereof, serves as the catalyst to our own servility by standing as the largest hinderance toward proper inquiry and research. Humans can be placed in any situation and we will start to give it some kind of meaning in hopes to gain a basis for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

T, 3Aravindan.S, 4Anandraj.P,5 Palanimurugan.S 1,2,3,4,5 Asst. Prof/CSE, EGSPEC Abstract The utilization of PC systems for information transmissions has made the need of security. The security of this intuitive media data should be possible with encryption or information concealing calculations. To diminish the transmission time, the information pressure is necessary. Since couple of years, an issue is to attempt to join pressure, encryption and information covering up in a solitary stride. Picture security turns out to be progressively critical for some applications, e.g., secret transmission, video reconnaissance, military and therapeutic applications. These days, the transmission of pictures is an every day routine and it is important to locate a proficient approach to transmit them over systems. They send Secret message over channel utilizing Cryptography and Steganography calculations by AES (Advanced Encryption Standard). It is utilized to scramble the information from plain content to figure content the other way around. There are two sorts of keys accessible in the cryptography, symmetric and asymmetric. There are utilizing symmetric key which is separated into two key, for example, private and open key. Open key is utilized for encryption and private key is utilized for decoding. The reversible information concealing method is utilized to recover the information and picture ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
