Two Factors By Innate Intelligence
Ryan Abdullah 11.2
(a) What is meant by the term innate intelligence? [2]
It is a form of intelligence that is said to be derived from decadence through heredity.
(b) Describe two factors that may influence a person s level of intelligence. [4]
Diet, the intake of a proper balanced diet containing a variety of different foods is necessary for the
physical development of an individual within a society. If an individual does not develop properly,
he/she will not be able to perform at the same level as he/she could. As he/she won t be able to
perform at the same level there intelligence will be altered (usually in a negative manner). Educational
opportunities, if a person comes from a fortunate background they might have the opportunity to
pursue their education in private schools and higher education as the cost as a percentage of their total
income will be lower than that of a person from an unfortunate background.
(c) How might examinations not reflect ability[6] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can easily brought about by many factors such as how the questions on the actual test are
formulated; this creates distorted results. The factor of Stress in an examination greatly changes the
reflection of ability when a student takes an exam as the stress can cause the student to not answer
questions in the way he/she usually would usually do. This skews the data and makes it less
representative of the students overall ability.Examinations rely on memorization not skills and
knowledge of a subject. This is easily seen in exams revolving around manual skills such as written
practical examinations where a student might know what to do in real life but does not know how to
express himself/herself on

of IT in the Accounting Work Information technology (IT) has changed the accounting department for
the better (Shanker). Today, IT is already present and is used widely in the business field, specifically
in accounting offices (Shanker, 2006). The following are the positive effects of IT in the Accounting
Work: Speed is the most important characteristic of IT. The use of various technologies results to
faster and more accurate performances. Technologies are mainly composed of hardware and software
and these two must be always compatible for the accountant s specific works in order to deliver the
best performance. In order for technologies to be more effective as far as speed is concerned, the
system of accounting should have always backup systems for the technologies that are being used
(Shanker, 2006). Accuracy in recording and reporting financial information are greatly valued and the

Broken Spears Summary
The book, Broken Spears was an interesting reading that talked about the Spanish conquest of
Tenochtitlan. Throughout the book, it becomes clear that the Spanish were successful in their conquest
as a result of a number of factors. The Spanish were intimidating in appearance and in their weaponry.
They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed alliances with rival tribes,
like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. Finally, one of the key reasons that the Spaniards were able to successfully
conquer the Aztecs was due to the fact that Motecuhzoma himself, believed that Cortes and his men
were gods. In regards appearance, the Spanish were essentially covered from head to toe in iron armor.
Even the weapons they carried were covered in iron. The Aztecs were unaccustomed to the iron clad
individuals. In regards to weaponry, the Spanish were, even more, intimidating in the fact that they
had cannons. The Aztecs describe the cannon to Motecuhzoma, a thing like a ball of stone comes out
of its entrails: it comes shooting sparks and raining fire...smoke that comes out of it has a pestilent
odor. The odor penetrates even the brain and causes great discomfort ( 30). For me personally, the only
reason I can think of for Cortes to fire off a cannon was to show dominance over the Indians. For
people who had never even heard of a cannon before, it is understandable that the Native Americans
were fearful of Cortes and his men. Along with the iron clad armor and weapons the

Nietzsche Genealogy Essay
Let us begin from how Nietzsche frames genealogy first and foremost as a genealogy of morals .
Accordingly, it is crucial that we understand what Nietzsche takes morality to be. According to
Richard Schacht, morals [...] are most properly thought of as a loosely related family of norms
pertaining to human conduct of various sorts [...] . Moreover, Schacht adds that morals are to be seen
in relationship with our forms or spheres of life [...] the various sorts of sociocultural formations and
configurations [...] setting the contexts of the greater part of what we variously do in the course of our
socioculturally articulated lives . Morals are therefore normative codes according to which we
orientate ourselves in the context of different spheres

Venezuela
A beautiful country in the north of South America, Venezuela is home to many natural wonders.
Venezuela boasts the tallest waterfall in the world, several Caribbean archipelagos, vast plains, and
many state parks (Martz). First colonized in 1498 by Christopher Columbus, Venezuela was named
after the native s stilt houses that reminded colonists of buildings in Venice, therefore naming the
country Venezuola (little Venice) ( South America :: Venezuela). After being under the control of the
Spanish for many years, Venezuela finally became an independent country on April 19th, 1810
(Martz). The country of Venezuela is located in northern South America, bordering the Caribbean sea,
the atlantic ocean, Colombia, Guyana, and Brazil. It is six times the size of Georgia, and currently has
an estimated population of 30,208,000 people ( South America :: Venezuela). The capital city of
Caracas is surrounded by a beautiful state park on one side, and rugged yet densely populated hills on
the other (Venezuela Caracas An Introduction). There are many interesting museums to visit in
Caracas, including the birthplace of Simón Bolívar, the man who led many South American countries
to independence from Spain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

English. Children are required to go to school until the age of 15. Secondary school is free but not

them never received any formal schooling (Martz). Since 2003, there have been many efforts to

Greek Mythology Importance
What is mythology? Greek mythology has been around ever since there were Greeks to tell them. This
started at around 1900 BC and ended at approximately 146 BC when the romans conquered the
Greeks. Because the Greeks were so old they didn t know much about earth such as why there is night
and day, why there are different seasons, why there is lightning and many other things. So they used
Mythology to explain these things. In those day s Greek mythology was a little like Christianity in that
some people believed while others didn t believe.
What is the importance of Greek mythology? Greek mythology was very important to the Greeks way
back in those days because it was how they explained natural events. For example, they used Greek
mythology to explain how the humans were made, what happens to them when they die and how the
earth came to be. But these days there is more scientific ways of knowing these things. For example,
Christians believe God created humans and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Zeus is the Big boss of the gods and he controls the sky. He is pretty popular and is known for his
addiction to women. Poseidon controls the waters and is fairly popular among the gods and the last is
Hades who is the god of the underworld, he is very unpopular and is known for being antisocial. There
were also what are known as the twelve Olympians which is basically a council of the lesser gods.
This council was made up of the following gods: Zeus (sky), Hera (marriage and child birth),
Poseidon (sea), Demeter (agriculture, fertility and the harvest), Athena (wisdom and good council),
Apollo (music, poetry and art), Artemis (hunting, virginity), Ares (war), Aphrodite (love, beauty),
Hephaestus (fire, metalworking and forging), Hermes (messenger of the gods, trade, thieves and
sports) and either Hestia (goddess of the hearth), or Dionysus (fertility and wine). These gods ruled
the world.

Bmw s Impact On The Manufacturing Of Cars
BMW begins its long history, which stretches for almost a hundred years, in Germany. BMW had a
major impact on the manufacturing of cars. Rapp needed a financial backer to do this and in 1916 he
renamed the Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works). After a financial problem with the
company Rapp left. When Rapp left the company Franz Josef Popp took over. He set up BMW as we
know it today( BMW Early History ).
In 1913 a German engineer Karl Friedrich Rapp who had been the early director of a successful
aircraft company, started his own business to make aircraft engines. He named the Rapp
Motorenwerke and set up shop in Munich Germany. He did this because the biggest buyer of his
engines was nearby. The company did very well and was contracted to build a large sum of V12
airplane engines to fill a very high demand. BMW made many aircraft engines during WWI. After the
war was lost the Versailles Treaty prohibited German companies from producing aircraft and aircraft
engines. BMW had to find a new way to stay in business and get income. Again and again BMW had
discussed getting into the car business but it was never really necessary until now( History of BMW
). At this time in history German s economy was very bad and inflation was very high. BMW started
to make low cost cars in early 1925. They were a success and BMW made a full swing into the
automobile business.
In 1930 BMW began work on a new four cylinder engine. The engine was advanced for its time but it

Behavior Management Is The Number One Key For Learning...
Behavior Management in the Classroom If you were to ask me what my number one priority is in my
classroom, without a thought my answer would be behavior management. Much like Marzano (2003)
I believe that behavior management is the number one key for learning success. If a classroom is
chaotic and unpredictable many students will show various kinds of undesired behaviors as a way to
cope with the environment. It is also very difficult for students to focus and retain information when
there are constant disruptions in the classroom. It will negatively affect the performance of the teacher,
and the students. When students are taught structure and routine, and given unwavering expectations
and consequences, and are then taught how to apply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also important to build strong relationships with students in order to create a trusting and positive
environment. Much like Walker (2009) I believe that strong management stems from high expectation
levels, as well as a caring and nurturing environment where students are being encouraged and the
process, rather than the outcome of learning is emphasized. Walker (2009) defines this style of
teaching as authoritative. A high level of support and nurturing, along with high expectations, where
the adult is able to reason with the child to gain compliance. As a special education teacher, many of
my students have low self monitor abilities and struggle to reason, and need frequent reminders and
enforcers. I feel that it is most effective to use a more authoritarian approach in the beginning to build
very clear expectations without room for error. Walker (2009) defines authoritarian style of teaching a
highly controlling style of teaching that values strict obedience. Although an authoritarian approach is
less nurturing and highly controlling, I feel that it is effective to start with this level of control, and
then progress into a more authoritative level where the more nurturing warm supportive elements
come in as students learn to adhere to expectations with a high level of support. When moving into a

traditional Chinese idioms around the early 2000s, Xu Bing started to work on an unconventional
interior installation in 2008, after his return from the United States. The whole project, which is made

At the same time, he was invited to create a commercial project for Beijing Central Business District,

rough skin in its interior enthralled Xu Bing s attention immediately. The direct contrast of the migrant
workers harsh working conditions and splendid appearances of mansions motivated Xu Bing to record
this striking impression of his homeland. Unexpectedly, sponsor of this project agreed to his idea of
making a work of art out of useless materials in the atrium of the building, which looks like a big cage

paradoxical representation of the most prosperous fortune center in Beijing and grandeur Phoenix,
which are made of the surplus materials, to some extent, dramatically critique the growing capitalism
in China. However, following the Olympic games suspended all constructions and truck
transportations in Beijing, making them difficult to collect building debris. Shortly, the global
economic crisis forced the sponsor of the Phoenix to reconsider its support. As Xu Bing said in the
interview, When the economy was growing, they had a greater tolerance for art, humor, self mockery,
and a bit of self criticism. However, when things turn bad, their ability to accept this kind of artwork
became limited (Traub). Xu Bing suspended the construction of the Phoenix, rather than

The Pros And Cons Of Self Censorship
In today s society, people no longer communicate with each other on a respectful level. Although
everyone has their own opinion, this generation does not take other people s opinions into perspective.
There are very few leaders who are setting examples for their peers. They are constantly bashing their
objectors for not having the same opinions and ideas that they think are competent. This causes this
generation to self censor themselves because they do not want to receive negative backlash on their
opinions and ideas. Self censorship is exercising control over what one has to say and how he or she
may act in order to avoid castigation (English Oxford Living Dictionaries). It also obstructs creativity
and prevents individuals from forming their own opinions and ideas.
Self censorship prevents this generation from exploring the depths of creativity and forces people to
hold back opinions that may be bottled up on the inside. It can affect everyone. Adults often have
business ideas that they think can impact our younger generation and that generation to come, but
because of the fear of co workers disagreeing with them, they may contradict their original thought.
This precludes their talents from advancing on to the next level of success (OxBow School). Students
sometimes can have different opinions than their teachers, but out of fear of getting in trouble, they
never vocalize their opinions. This can at times affect the relationship between the teachers and their
students

What Causes Thermohaline Circulation
1. Thermohaline circulation of the ocean corresponds to the change of density in flowing water. It is
created through global density gradients constructed by surface heat and freshwater fluxes through the
large scale ocean circulation. It is based on deep water currents that make up 90% of the ocean. Water
moves around areas found under sea, ocean basins, since density is caused by forces and gravity. The
amount of salt in the water and the temperature of the water changes the density. Salinity and cold
temperatures make the water more dense which causes deep waters, which form when air
temperatures are cold and the salinity of the surface of waters is high, to sink into deep ocean basins at
high latitudes where temperatures are cold enough for the density to decrease. In other terms, it is
known as part of the ocean circulation created through the differences in densities. The density of the
water is dependent on the salinity and temperature which changes from the surface of the water either
heating up or cooling down as freshwater flows as said before. Thermohaline circulation moves a
massive current around the world not to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

it is essential to all oceanic life. If phytoplankton die, their skin sinks to the bottom of the ocean, the

Robots are Over-taking Us
Robots are over taking us. Or are being taken over by robots? There have been many robots developed
to make life easier. Robotics has had some positive effects in the performance of certain jobs. It can
help us complete difficult jobs that use materials that are not safe for humans to handle such as
radioactive materials. A single robot can do heavy tasks that would require 10 people to complete.
However, this savings in time and money for companies could result in loss of hours and wages for
employees. Robotics is affecting many parts of our lives right now, from jobs, to house chores to
medicine and a lot more. But which is really more effective and efficient? Humans or robots? Yet, we
continue to develop robots to help us. Is a future ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Workers are moved to supervisory roles where they no longer have to perform dangerous tasks in
hazardous settings. With the improved worker safety, there has been an increase in financial savings
since there are fewer healthcare and insurance claims by employers. Robot movements are always
exact, minimizing material waste ( RobotWorx ).
Disadvantages of Robots
The use of robots may also present many disadvantages, such as cost. For example, the iRobots that
could clean a pool costs around $1,300 ( Mirra ). Another concern is that robots might be taking away
our jobs (Tobe). Robots used to perform industrial jobs can help save labor hours and money (Tobe). It
is a fact that robots complete jobs with higher quality. Jobs such as gluing, spraying paint, and
trimming are performed faster, consistently and with better quality by robots (Sands, D.). This could
have a negative effect on humans because it will take away many jobs, resulting in income loss.
In addition, the initial investment to integrate robotics into businesses is substantial, especially when
business owners are limiting their purchases to new robotic equipment (Tobe). He said that the cost of
robotic automation and regular maintenance needs could potentially have a financial toll on the
company. Employees will require training programs and learn how to interact with the new robotic
equipment. This normally takes time and financial outlay. Robots will be

Merger Is The Combination Of Two Companies
A merger or acquisition is the combination of two companies. In a merger, one of the companies loses
its identity completely and is absorbed by the surviving corporation. An acquisition occurs when one
corporation acquires all the shares of another. Both corporations may continue to operate individually
or may operate as a combination of both. What are the benefits of these transactions? Why would a
company choose to merge with or acquire another company?
Mergers and acquisitions, better known as M A, is a ...term used to refer to the consolidation of
companies (Investopedia, 2014). Mergers can allow companies to combine forces and stake out a
greater portion of market share (Alli, 2010). A company may choose to merge with or acquire another

Pubius Cornelius Tacitus Essay
Pubius Cornelius Tacitus (55 118AD), was a historian from an equestrian family born in either norther
Italy or Southern Gaul who wrote Biography of Agricola in 98 AD followed by Histories in 105 AD.
The first document, an excerpt from Biography of Agricola 29 32 is a fictional speech from the British
war chief named Calgacus who was preparing his people for battle against Gnaes Julius Agricola the
governor of the Roman provinces in Briton from 78 85 AD and also Tacitus father in law. The second
document is an excerpt from Tacitus Histories 4.74 which is also a fictional speech. This speech given
through the view point of Petillius Cerialis a Roman general who stopped the revolt of the people of
Gaul in 70AD. In my essay I am going to assess whether or not Tacitus motives throughout the
speeches are to shed negative light on Roman conquest and Roman rule of its conquered territories. ...

what he did. What I can use though is the information that I do know, such as his biases and the shared
style of writing between the documents to formulate my own opinion. For the excerpt from Biography
of Agricola I know that the fact that Agricola was Tacitus father in law is a definite bias towards how
and why he wrote that document. As for the excerpt from Histories could the fact that he may be from
southern Gaul have influenced him to write the speech? For both speeches though Tacitus main bias is
that he is a wealthy Roman male whom was raised in a different world than the people that are

M1 And M2
The rate of effusion of a gaseous substance is inversely proportional to the square root of its molar
mass. where:
Rate1 is the rate of effusion of the first gas (volume or number of moles per unit time).
Rate2 is the rate of effusion for the second gas.
M1 is the molar mass of gas 1
M2 is the molar mass of gas 2.
Graham s law states that the rate of diffusion or of effusion of a gas is inversely proportional to the
square root of its molecular weight. Thus, if the molecular weight of one gas is four times that of
another, it would diffuse through a porous plug or escape through a small pinhole in a vessel at half
the rate of the other (heavier gases diffuse more slowly). A complete theoretical explanation of
Graham s law was provided years

Self Reliance By Ralph Waldo Emerson
Self Reliance : Chapter 7 Self Reliance was an essay written by an American transcendentalist Ralph
Waldo Emerson. Throughout his life, Emerson kept detailed journals of his thoughts and actions, and
he looked back at them as a source for Self Reliance. The essay mainly talks about the importance of
self reliance, self reliance and the individual, and self reliance with society. As a whole it promotes
self reliance as an ideal and contrasts it with various modes of dependence or conformity. Throughout
Into the Wild, Chris McCandless shows that he is very independent and does not conform to society.
Which is why he leaves his home and travels to be closer to nature. The thoughts and actions of Chris
McCandless shows many transcendentalist ideals. For example, when Chris was speaking to Mary
Westerberg she got the impression that, He was hungry to learn about things (67). For Self Reliance,
Emerson states, No kernel of nourishing corn can come to him but through his toil bestowed on that

Introduction:
Today, we have cloud the digital universe of information freely available to us. The current estimate of
the amount of information is 4000 Exabyte in size . A good analogy is 4000 Exabyte is roughly
equivalent to a stack of books from the earth to Pluto and back, 80 times. We only began to create that
less than 20 years ago. Devices like cell phones, iPads allow us to access this information from
anywhere on this earth, anytime.

Relational Database Management System ( Rdbms )
Abstract:
In Nowadays, there are two major of database management systems which are use to deal with data,
the first one called Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which is the traditional
relational databases, it deals with structured data and have been popular since decades since 1970,
while the second one called Not only Structure Query Language databases (NoSQL), they are dealing
with semi structured and unstructured data; the NoSQL types are gaining their popularity with the
development of the internet and the social media since April 2009. NoSQL are intending to override
the cons of RDBMs, such as fixed schemas, JOIN operations and handling the scalability problems. In
this paper we will review one of the graph database (Neo4j), which the graph database is part of the
emerging technology that is called NoSQL and compared it with one of the traditional relational
database (MySQL). MySQL, it is being another name for Relational Databases and it has been used
for a long period time until now. However, with the emergence of Big Data there was clearly a need
for more flexible databases. Facebook s Graph Search using Neo4j, a graph database, is an application
which clearly displays how relationships need to be modeled in a more efficient and sophisticated
manner than using conventional relational models. In this paper, we will make a compare between
MySQL and Neo4j based on the features like ACID, replication, availability and the language that is
used in both of

The Dispassionate Analysis Document
As stated in the Dispassionate Analysis document, a dispassionate analysis is one that is impartial and
free from personal feelings or bias. In our modern world, we are surrounded by the personal opinions
of individuals on everyday matters including the environment. With all the opinionated noise
surrounding us it is important that we are cautious about not just relying on what we hear to influence
our own views and conclusions especially on issues such as the environment. In our fast paced world,
the media plays an integral part in our lives. As a result, personalities such as Rush Limbaugh and Bill
Maher have a greater influence on our society. There are some that may rely on them as their sole
source of news. However, it is important

My Day In My School
Have you ever felt like your brain was being split into a million pieces? Possibly a pain so intense you
worried you were dying. That feeling was the cause of my day in hell. It was the day of the English
and Math entrance exams, and I was ecstatic. I take pride in my intelligence and was ready to put my
knowledge to the test. I had gotten a late start to the day, so I had about 30 minutes to get ready before
I had to leave for GCIT. I take forever to get myself ready, so I used every second I could. I usually
don t eat breakfast, so I didn t think twice about leaving the house without any food or water in my
system. My dad drove me to the school, and I checked in at the front desk, getting my group number. I
waited in the 400 wing cafeteria for about 20 minutes. Eventually, they called my section, and a
teacher led us to our testing room, which was in the Allied hallway. When I walked in, I noticed the
room was a tad too hot for summer weather. I shook it off though, ready to get started with testing. We
waited for 10 minutes so everyone could get situated, and the heat had finally gotten to me. I could
feel a headache coming on, and I immediately knew I was going to have trouble taking this test. We
were logging into the testing system when I noticed patches of my vision were gone. It took me
extremely too long to type in my name because some keys on my keyboard had vanished. This has
happened to me before, so I shook it off, determined to

The Myth of Psyche
THE MYTH OF PSYCHE
(excerpted from http://www.mythicjourneys.org/newsletter_jul05_transitions_bolen.html )
As most of you know, psyche is the Greek word for soul. It s also the Greek word for butterfly. If you
have a protagonist in a story whose name is Psyche, you might expect that she will go through a major
transition and crisis. Will she survive it? Will she come through and be transformed, or will she die?
That s one way of looking at the
Psyche myth. Those of you who heard Robert Bly s White Bear story on the first day of this
conference heard a variation of the Eros and Psyche myth.
The form that Psyche broke was the understanding with her unseen lover who came every night. The
piece of the story I want to focus on is what happens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What good is knowing that you are in a very dysfunctional relationship, if you haven t the
capacity...that is the symbol of the knife...to draw a boundary, to discriminate, to cut it off, to end the
relationship if it turns out that what you see really is negative?
In this part of the story, Psyche takes both symbols in her hand. As you know, when she raises the
lamp and sees her unseen lover, her unknown bridegroom, he turns out to be the immature god of
love, Eros. Immature in that he was carrying on this secret affair. He had promised his mother, the
goddess Aphrodite, that he would punish Psyche who was so identified with the goddess because of
her beauty that the goddess s shrines were ignored. People were worshipping a human girl as if she
was a goddess, and the goddess plotted revenge for what psychologically is true. If you identify with
an archetype, you lose your humanity, your individuality. You get inflated by it. You get taken over by
it. You do get Aphrodite s revenge.
In this case Aphrodite had told her son Eros to aim his arrows at Psyche in punishment so that she
would fall in love with the vilest of men. This is the negative power of Aphrodite and Eros: to have
Psyche fall in love with someone who would really be vile for her and her development. Instead Eros
sees Psyche and falls in love with her himself. He decides to keep all that from Mother, and so he s
been having this clandestine, hidden affair

Extraterrestrial Life Exist Essay
Imagine that out of the infinite stars and planets in the vast universe, only one solitary planet can
sustain life. Heavily disputed arguments have arisen about whether humans are the sole intelligent
beings in the universe. Scientists continuously search for the answer, but the search has not as yet
yielded positive results. Billions of dollars have been spent in research, causing controversy about
whether scientists should invest in the hunt for extraterrestrial beings. Due to inadequate technology,
humans cannot currently identify whether extraterrestrial life exists, leading to arguments that
scientists should refrain from searching for them. Findings on Earth and other planets suggest
extraterrestrial life could live in outer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since odd creatures are found in environments similar to Europa s on Earth, then life can possibly
survive on the moon. Experts cannot rule out life under the ice on Europa, because of the similarities
to the Earth s environment. Therefore, they must carry on researching. Even though finding similar
environments to inhabitable areas on the Earth is helpful, it may hold little importance when
discovering life. Open University s Preston says, Most of the environments we used to think were
sterile are proving to have life. Every time we think we ve found somewhere on Earth that life can t
survive in, we go and find a part of life that can (Fecht). This could be true on other planets as well, so
scientists do not have to look for planets with similar environments to Earth. Aliens may have adapted
to a different environment than Earth s. Scientists have discovered living beings in places on Earth
which seemed unlivable, so if humans look at planets that seem uninhabitable they may find life as
well. Once again, with this new knowledge, scientists should proceed in searching for extraterrestrials.
Although some evidence suggests that extraterrestrial life exists in outer space, some evidence proves
otherwise. Lack of valid evidence and economic consequences associated with the search for
extraterrestrials discourages scientists to continue with the investigation. It is possible that if humans
ever find aliens, it could be

The, Twelve Angry Men, By Reginald Rose
Set in the 1950 s post depression America and written by world renowned playwright Reginald Rose,
Twelve Angry Men has become a much loved classic within the drama playwright genre. With an
abundance of audacious themes skillfully displayed throughout the feature length play, Rose has
pushed the boundaries of the overly oppressive era from which the play was first published. The two
main themes that were explored to great lengths throughout the play were prejudices and stereotypes.
These themes were both highlighted through the use of three key literary devices; structure, setting
and interactions of characters. Prior to act 1, character names are not listed in the structure, the
characters are known only as their assigned juror numbers, this is to prevent the audience from
developing prejudices of the juror, The 8th Juror gazes out the window. The 12th Juror looks at him
for a moment then moves away , (pg. 4). This decision also puts the audience in a similar position to
which the jurors are in; making a decision on facts provided without any bias. Act one of the play is
set in America after the abolishment of slavery, yet racism was still extremely prevalent and widely
accepted throughout the country. This certain prejudicial issue is highlighted in many key scenes
during the play. The 10th Juror is a perfect example of how the setting affects the play and depicts the
themes of prejudices and stereotypes; Brother, you can say that again. The kids who crawl outa those

The Effects Of Helicopter Parenting On Young Adults Who...
Helicopter parenting is the over use or excessive use of parental guidance thought to generate a slower
progression of emotional maturity and physical wellbeing in young adults. The methods used in this
review include examining previous literature and current studies on this issue of helicopter parenting.
The purpose of this review is to establish the measure of autonomy and mental wellbeing in young
adults who are entering college for the first time.
This literary review looks at the long term effects of helicopter parenting. While parental involvement
is clearly linked to positive traits in children, can over parenting produce negative outcomes? Issues
that have been related to helicopter parenting include a lack of autonomy and satisfaction with life,
increased stress, anxiety and depression and overall poor coping skills (Schiffrin et al., 2013). Perhaps
if a link between the issues listed above and helicopter parenting can be proven, then a way to correct
or reverse the issue can also be identified.
The current research and studies on the effects of helicopter parenting are being pioneered by Chris
Segrin of Arizona State University. In one article titled Maternal Care and Control as Mediators in the
Relationship between Mothers and Adult Children s Psychosocial Problems, Segrin and his colleagues
investigate the relationship between mothers and adult children s psychosocial problems. This article
looked at the direct measure of depression, loneliness and

The Economics of Pediatric Head Injury
Growing up in India I was told that as a girl, education would make me a suitable bride. With a
passion for learning and desire to be independent, rebelling against the tradition of marriage after high
school, I applied for entrance to medical school instead. Acceptance in to one of the best medical
schools in India, the Armed Forces Medical College, changed my life by exposing me to strong
women role models in medicine. To explore my interest in research after medical school, I received a
scholarship for Ph.D. studies at Rutgers University in the United States. Although this has been
interrupted by clinical training and family needs, I continued my focus on understanding and teaching
biostatistics, epidemiology, and evidence based medicine.
As my journey in academics started, I faced the challenge and responsibility of becoming a single
parent. Fueled by a desire to learn about economics and finance, I did what comes naturally to me?to
go to school. The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh sponsored the study to
support my vision for adding the knowledge of business to the practice of medicine. For eighteen
months, I did the ?unthinkable?: working full time, studying full time, and raising a six year old. This
was by far the most exhausting and yet the most inspiring time of my life as I completed the M.B.A.
program. Further, travelling to Japan and

Athaulf Alternate Ending
King Athaulf scowled on his throne. There was still no sign of where Harktown could be. This was the
only reason that vermin village was still in working order. The village was never where it was, they ve

Your Highness! Your soldiers have brought in some more travelers. Are they to be searched? His
adviser asked. Athaulf waved his hand. I suppose, but no amount of jewels will brighten my mood, He
said grumpily. When his crown fell down on his nose again, he screamed in fright. I want the

pricked up ears and was standing on two feet growled. Oh what is it now, Argyros?! King Athaulf
complained. Argyros the wolf did not look or answer, he just stared at the far wall and continued his
low growl. Suddenly, King Athaulf thought of an idea, he touched his ring which held a midnight blue
pearl and spoke to Argyros. Go and Track down the Lion s pearl. Kill its holder once you have it,
come to me and we can lay waste on Harktown. King Athaulf smiled the thin, snakey smile a
storybook villain would do if they were in his position. Argyros spoke. Yes... Master. His voice was
deep and hoarse, but not at all sinister. Argyros stepped from the side of the throne and howled, the
howl was clear and ghost like, it rumbled Athaulf s chest and he saw all the uneasy faces of his
soldiers. After he finished Athaulf heard other howls off in the distance. Most likely Argyros

  • 2. Two Factors By Innate Intelligence Ryan Abdullah 11.2 (a) What is meant by the term innate intelligence? [2] It is a form of intelligence that is said to be derived from decadence through heredity. (b) Describe two factors that may influence a person s level of intelligence. [4] Diet, the intake of a proper balanced diet containing a variety of different foods is necessary for the physical development of an individual within a society. If an individual does not develop properly, he/she will not be able to perform at the same level as he/she could. As he/she won t be able to perform at the same level there intelligence will be altered (usually in a negative manner). Educational opportunities, if a person comes from a fortunate background they might have the opportunity to pursue their education in private schools and higher education as the cost as a percentage of their total income will be lower than that of a person from an unfortunate background. (c) How might examinations not reflect ability[6] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can easily brought about by many factors such as how the questions on the actual test are formulated; this creates distorted results. The factor of Stress in an examination greatly changes the reflection of ability when a student takes an exam as the stress can cause the student to not answer questions in the way he/she usually would usually do. This skews the data and makes it less representative of the students overall ability.Examinations rely on memorization not skills and knowledge of a subject. This is easily seen in exams revolving around manual skills such as written practical examinations where a student might know what to do in real life but does not know how to express himself/herself on ... Significance of the Study The purpose of this study is to know the significance of Information technology in the field of Accounting in today s globalized world. II. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES/CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK/DISCUSSION Effects of IT in the Accounting Work Information technology (IT) has changed the accounting department for the better (Shanker). Today, IT is already present and is used widely in the business field, specifically in accounting offices (Shanker, 2006). The following are the positive effects of IT in the Accounting Work: Speed is the most important characteristic of IT. The use of various technologies results to faster and more accurate performances. Technologies are mainly composed of hardware and software and these two must be always compatible for the accountant s specific works in order to deliver the best performance. In order for technologies to be more effective as far as speed is concerned, the system of accounting should have always backup systems for the technologies that are being used (Shanker, 2006). • 4. Broken Spears Summary The book, Broken Spears was an interesting reading that talked about the Spanish conquest of Tenochtitlan. Throughout the book, it becomes clear that the Spanish were successful in their conquest as a result of a number of factors. The Spanish were intimidating in appearance and in their weaponry. They had animals that the Aztecs had never seen before. They also formed alliances with rival tribes, like the Tlaxcaltecas tribe. Finally, one of the key reasons that the Spaniards were able to successfully conquer the Aztecs was due to the fact that Motecuhzoma himself, believed that Cortes and his men were gods. In regards appearance, the Spanish were essentially covered from head to toe in iron armor. Even the weapons they carried were covered in iron. The Aztecs were unaccustomed to the iron clad individuals. In regards to weaponry, the Spanish were, even more, intimidating in the fact that they had cannons. The Aztecs describe the cannon to Motecuhzoma, a thing like a ball of stone comes out of its entrails: it comes shooting sparks and raining fire...smoke that comes out of it has a pestilent odor. The odor penetrates even the brain and causes great discomfort ( 30). For me personally, the only reason I can think of for Cortes to fire off a cannon was to show dominance over the Indians. For people who had never even heard of a cannon before, it is understandable that the Native Americans were fearful of Cortes and his men. Along with the iron clad armor and weapons the ... Accordingly, it is crucial that we understand what Nietzsche takes morality to be. According to Richard Schacht, morals [...] are most properly thought of as a loosely related family of norms pertaining to human conduct of various sorts [...] . Moreover, Schacht adds that morals are to be seen in relationship with our forms or spheres of life [...] the various sorts of sociocultural formations and configurations [...] setting the contexts of the greater part of what we variously do in the course of our socioculturally articulated lives . Morals are therefore normative codes according to which we orientate ourselves in the context of different spheres ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Greek Mythology Importance What is mythology? Greek mythology has been around ever since there were Greeks to tell them. This started at around 1900 BC and ended at approximately 146 BC when the romans conquered the Greeks. Because the Greeks were so old they didn t know much about earth such as why there is night and day, why there are different seasons, why there is lightning and many other things. So they used Mythology to explain these things. In those day s Greek mythology was a little like Christianity in that some people believed while others didn t believe. What is the importance of Greek mythology? Greek mythology was very important to the Greeks way back in those days because it was how they explained natural events. For example, they used Greek mythology to explain how the humans were made, what happens to them when they die and how the earth came to be. • 9. Bmw s Impact On The Manufacturing Of Cars BMW begins its long history, which stretches for almost a hundred years, in Germany. BMW had a major impact on the manufacturing of cars. Rapp needed a financial backer to do this and in 1916 he renamed the Bayerische Motoren Werke (Bavarian Motor Works). After a financial problem with the company Rapp left. When Rapp left the company Franz Josef Popp took over. He set up BMW as we know it today( BMW Early History ). In 1913 a German engineer Karl Friedrich Rapp who had been the early director of a successful aircraft company, started his own business to make aircraft engines. He named the Rapp Motorenwerke and set up shop in Munich Germany. He did this because the biggest buyer of his engines was nearby. The company did very well and was contracted to build a large sum of V12 airplane engines to fill a very high demand. BMW made many aircraft engines during WWI. After the war was lost the Versailles Treaty prohibited German companies from producing aircraft and aircraft engines. BMW had to find a new way to stay in business and get income. Again and again BMW had discussed getting into the car business but it was never really necessary until now( History of BMW ). At this time in history German s economy was very bad and inflation was very high. BMW started to make low cost cars in early 1925. They were a success and BMW made a full swing into the automobile business. In 1930 BMW began work on a new four cylinder engine. The engine was advanced for its time but it ... • 10. Behavior Management Is The Number One Key For Learning... Behavior Management in the Classroom If you were to ask me what my number one priority is in my classroom, without a thought my answer would be behavior management. Much like Marzano (2003) I believe that behavior management is the number one key for learning success. If a classroom is chaotic and unpredictable many students will show various kinds of undesired behaviors as a way to cope with the environment. It is also very difficult for students to focus and retain information when there are constant disruptions in the classroom. It will negatively affect the performance of the teacher, and the students. When students are taught structure and routine, and given unwavering expectations and consequences, and are then taught how to apply ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is also important to build strong relationships with students in order to create a trusting and positive environment. Much like Walker (2009) I believe that strong management stems from high expectation levels, as well as a caring and nurturing environment where students are being encouraged and the process, rather than the outcome of learning is emphasized. Walker (2009) defines this style of teaching as authoritative. A high level of support and nurturing, along with high expectations, where the adult is able to reason with the child to gain compliance. As a special education teacher, many of my students have low self monitor abilities and struggle to reason, and need frequent reminders and enforcers. I feel that it is most effective to use a more authoritarian approach in the beginning to build very clear expectations without room for error. Walker (2009) defines authoritarian style of teaching a highly controlling style of teaching that values strict obedience. Although an authoritarian approach is less nurturing and highly controlling, I feel that it is effective to start with this level of control, and then progress into a more authoritative level where the more nurturing warm supportive elements come in as students learn to adhere to expectations with a high level of support. Xu Bing s The New York When people were still perplexed by Xu Bing s nonsense writing and atypical interpretations of traditional Chinese idioms around the early 2000s, Xu Bing started to work on an unconventional interior installation in 2008, after his return from the United States. The whole project, which is made of made of construction debris and light emitting diodes (Xu Bing Studio), took two years to finish and named as Feng Huang in Chinese, the same as Phoenix in English. At the same time, he was invited to create a commercial project for Beijing Central Business District, CBD. When he entered the construction site of this building, the animalistic hot temperature and rough skin in its interior enthralled Xu Bing s attention immediately. The direct contrast of the migrant workers harsh working conditions and splendid appearances of mansions motivated Xu Bing to record this striking impression of his homeland. Unexpectedly, sponsor of this project agreed to his idea of making a work of art out of useless materials in the atrium of the building, which looks like a big cage (Xiong Artron), representing China s new wealth, prosperity, and capitalistic spirit (Traub). The paradoxical representation of the most prosperous fortune center in Beijing and grandeur Phoenix, which are made of the surplus materials, to some extent, dramatically critique the growing capitalism in China. However, following the Olympic games suspended all constructions and truck transportations in Beijing, making them difficult to collect building debris. Shortly, the global economic crisis forced the sponsor of the Phoenix to reconsider its support. As Xu Bing said in the interview, When the economy was growing, they had a greater tolerance for art, humor, self mockery, and a bit of self criticism. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of Self Censorship In today s society, people no longer communicate with each other on a respectful level. Although everyone has their own opinion, this generation does not take other people s opinions into perspective. There are very few leaders who are setting examples for their peers. They are constantly bashing their objectors for not having the same opinions and ideas that they think are competent. This causes this generation to self censor themselves because they do not want to receive negative backlash on their opinions and ideas. Self censorship is exercising control over what one has to say and how he or she may act in order to avoid castigation (English Oxford Living Dictionaries). It also obstructs creativity and prevents individuals from forming their own opinions and ideas. Self censorship prevents this generation from exploring the depths of creativity and forces people to hold back opinions that may be bottled up on the inside. It can affect everyone. Adults often have business ideas that they think can impact our younger generation and that generation to come, but because of the fear of co workers disagreeing with them, they may contradict their original thought. This precludes their talents from advancing on to the next level of success (OxBow School). Students sometimes can have different opinions than their teachers, but out of fear of getting in trouble, they never vocalize their opinions. This can at times affect the relationship between the teachers and their students ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. What Causes Thermohaline Circulation 1. Thermohaline circulation of the ocean corresponds to the change of density in flowing water. It is created through global density gradients constructed by surface heat and freshwater fluxes through the large scale ocean circulation. It is based on deep water currents that make up 90% of the ocean. Water moves around areas found under sea, ocean basins, since density is caused by forces and gravity. The amount of salt in the water and the temperature of the water changes the density. Salinity and cold temperatures make the water more dense which causes deep waters, which form when air temperatures are cold and the salinity of the surface of waters is high, to sink into deep ocean basins at high latitudes where temperatures are cold enough for the density to decrease. In other terms, it is known as part of the ocean circulation created through the differences in densities. The density of the water is dependent on the salinity and temperature which changes from the surface of the water either heating up or cooling down as freshwater flows as said before. The essay mainly talks about the importance of self reliance, self reliance and the individual, and self reliance with society. In this part of the story, Psyche takes both symbols in her hand. As you know, when she raises the lamp and sees her unseen lover, her unknown bridegroom, he turns out to be the immature god of love, Eros. Immature in that he was carrying on this secret affair. He had promised his mother, the goddess Aphrodite, that he would punish Psyche who was so identified with the goddess because of her beauty that the goddess s shrines were ignored. People were worshipping a human girl as if she was a goddess, and the goddess plotted revenge for what psychologically is true. If you identify with an archetype, you lose your humanity, your individuality. You get inflated by it. You get taken over by it. You do get Aphrodite s revenge. In this case Aphrodite had told her son Eros to aim his arrows at Psyche in punishment so that she would fall in love with the vilest of men. This is the negative power of Aphrodite and Eros: to have Psyche fall in love with someone who would really be vile for her and her development. Instead Eros sees Psyche and falls in love with her himself. He decides to keep all that from Mother, and so he s been having this clandestine, hidden affair ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Experts cannot rule out life under the ice on Europa, because of the similarities to the Earth s environment. Therefore, they must carry on researching. Even though finding similar environments to inhabitable areas on the Earth is helpful, it may hold little importance when discovering life. Open University s Preston says, Most of the environments we used to think were sterile are proving to have life. Every time we think we ve found somewhere on Earth that life can t survive in, we go and find a part of life that can (Fecht). This could be true on other planets as well, so scientists do not have to look for planets with similar environments to Earth. Aliens may have adapted to a different environment than Earth s. Scientists have discovered living beings in places on Earth which seemed unlivable, so if humans look at planets that seem uninhabitable they may find life as well. Once again, with this new knowledge, scientists should proceed in searching for extraterrestrials. • 28. The, Twelve Angry Men, By Reginald Rose Set in the 1950 s post depression America and written by world renowned playwright Reginald Rose, Twelve Angry Men has become a much loved classic within the drama playwright genre. With an abundance of audacious themes skillfully displayed throughout the feature length play, Rose has pushed the boundaries of the overly oppressive era from which the play was first published. The two main themes that were explored to great lengths throughout the play were prejudices and stereotypes. These themes were both highlighted through the use of three key literary devices; structure, setting and interactions of characters. Prior to act 1, character names are not listed in the structure, the characters are known only as their assigned juror numbers, this is to prevent the audience from developing prejudices of the juror, The 8th Juror gazes out the window. The 12th Juror looks at him for a moment then moves away , (pg. 4). This decision also puts the audience in a similar position to which the jurors are in; making a decision on facts provided without any bias. Act one of the play is set in America after the abolishment of slavery, yet racism was still extremely prevalent and widely accepted throughout the country. This certain prejudicial issue is highlighted in many key scenes during the play. The purpose of this review is to establish the measure of autonomy and mental wellbeing in young adults who are entering college for the first time.
