Message To Messengers
on one s life. Another Heron song that is rooted in his personal life, while also mainly associating with
social issues is Message to Messengers.
In his album Spirits, published in 1994, Heron created a lengthy masterpiece in the form of his poetic
style song, Message to the Messengers. In this famous piece, Heron talks about many social problems
that African Americans face in modern society. The most significant quote that sums up the entire
song is when Heron states, Sometimes they tell lies and put em in a truthful disguise/ But the truth is
that s why we said it wouldn t be televised. Referring to his earlier song, The Revolution Will Not Be
Televised, Heron is urging people who are not only in the African American community, but ... Show

Patterson Hood, the lead singer of Drive By Truckers, wrote What It Means a few years ago in protest
of the Ferguson shooting of Trayvon Martin. To Hood s disappointment, in addition to the
disappointment of millions, the song is still incredibly appropriate in today s society. In Killer Mike s
Reagan, Killer Mike does not only blame Reagan for the atrocities of society, but includes the
administrations that follow in both H.W. and George Bush, Bill Clinton, and even Barack Obama. The
point that both artists are trying to get across is that the idea of social and racial injustice is ever
common today as it was in some of the worst times in American history. The only difficulty in seeing
the issues that plague society is that the knowledge of the average citizen is clouded by false
information stimulated by politics. To find the truth in the corruption of society, it is up to each citizen
of the country to address the notions that There s no sunlight in our ass and our heads are stuck up in
it, or if we Will ever do it big, or just keep settling for lil shit? In other words, everyone needs to start
thinking about the truth with an intuitive, logical perspective as opposed to what politics are feeding
the public. Also, if people want change, they cannot settle for small victories, they need to enact
drastic actions to witness notable changes. An

How To Learn In English Class
I am writing to you in regards that you want to know more about me. You have taught me ELA in the
past two years, in grade nine first semester, and also in grade ten ELA advanced placement in semester
one. My skills in English has improved since I moved to Canada three years ago. In Nigeria, I was
taught how to write a paragraph differently from what it is in Canada, and this makes it difficult for
me to write up to the Canadian standard. What I enjoy about English is that the novels and short
stories studies. There are some things that bother me about in the past are: I was not able to reach the
goal (overall percentage mark) in ELA last year. I do not relate with people that much because they are
more knowledgeable in English Language than I do. I get intimidated easily and my essay writing is
not up to the advanced placement standard. I read books for pleasure, reading books is one of my
favorite spare time activities. I do not consider myself a writer anymore because I always find it hard
to start a paragraph or essay or anything and I lost interest. When I was little, I wrote lots of short
stories to the extent of writng a short story book. Most of the stories written were based on the
childhood movies I watched e.g. Barbie movie, tom and jerry. Unfortunately for me, the story book
was not edited neither was it published. This is because I had no ... Show more content on

Sleeping Disorders
Sleeping Disorders Sleeping disorders may seem minor, but many can cause severe health damage.
These health damages vary within each type of sleeping disorder. On an average, people will spend 25
years sleeping and it is astounding how little people know about what goes on after they turn the lights
off and lay their heads down; sleep can help people strengthen memories, improve physical
performance, and become faster learners. There are many different types of sleeping disorders,
including Insomnia which is the inability to fall asleep. Sleep Apnea is another sleeping disorder that
interrupts breathing during sleep and causes an increased risk of heart disease. This sleeping disorder
causes people to wake up as many as 100 times a night. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

J. Swierzewski). Since these movements at night tend to wake people up at night, PLMD usually
causes patients to have daytime drowsiness. Most people that have this sleeping disorder are unaware
of it unless someone is asleep with them in the same bed. Cases of PLMD have been treated with
sleeping pills that have also been helpful for treating the movement disorder of Parkinson s disease.

Analysis Of Ring Around The Rosie
My mom used to sing Ring Around the Rosie to me and my siblings. Although the memory is vague I
can remember the fun we had singing the nursery rhythm. We would hold hands and form a circle,
swaying to the words. We would first start out slow and increase our speed so when we got to the last
verse we would fall down with some of us on top of each other. I chose this because of the fond
memories in my childhood and the fun we all had. Another reason I chose this is because it reminds
me of my childhood and growing up with my siblings. The origin of this nursery rhyme can have a
variety of different meanings throughout the world.
This nursery rhyme can have a lot of different meanings between different people. Ring Around the
Rosie , is a fun interactive game that kids hold hands with each other and form a circle. The kids all
say Ashes, Ashes and they all fall down. This is the kid s favorite part of the song because they get to
fall down while having fun. This nursery rhyme is a fun way to have kids play with each other and
have a wonderful time doing it. Another meaning of this nursery rhyme could be associated with the
Black Death. This is because whenever the children sing the song and they say all fall down that could
mean the death of another person. Another reason this could signify the Black Death is that when it
said ashes it means that person has died and is cremated after they die from the bubonic plague. To
explain this further, it is saying that this

Essay on The Epic of Gilgamesh on Immortality and Its...
As long as humans have lived and died, we have strived to know the meaning of life. We assume that
there is a meaning or importance to life, and in doing so try to provide some permanence to our
existence so that a greater machine might continue to function. It is only natural, then, for us to be
interested in the concept of immortality. If there is purpose to an ending life, a life that does not end
must be supremely important. This idea is exemplified throughout time in stories both historical and
fictional. The Epic of Gilgamesh is one such story. Gilgamesh deals with immortality on nearly every
level, and at the same time points back to mortality, trying to extract a reason for living and dying.
Ostensively, The Epic of Gilgamesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the Bull of Heaven is sent to Uruk from the gods, Gilgamesh and Enkidu slay it quickly by
stabbing a sword into the Bull s neck (Gilgamesh 82). If the Bull of Heaven is a god, then clearly the
gods can be killed. The Bull of Heaven also seems to be a guardian of sorts for the gods, which
implies the gods need protection. Later the story describes a flood weapon that gods are actually
fearful of (Gilgamesh 113), perhaps because it could bring about their death. This all makes an
interesting distinction between immortality and invincibility – although life might continue forever if
left alone, it is not necessarily incapable of being stopped. And the spiritual life seems to continue for
humans when the physical life ends. Enkidu talks about being taken to a horrible afterlife: He seized
me, drove me down to the house where those who stay are deprived of light, where dust is their
food, and clay their bread. (Gilgamesh 89). Thus, while humans might be able to obtain spiritual
immortality, it will only be a state of suffering, which reflects back to the negativity of seeking
immortality in life. Gilgamesh also deals with perpetual life by symbolically demonstrating death and
rebirth. Enkidu, after having intercourse with the prostitute Shamhat, is rejected by the animal
kingdom that was his home (Gilgamesh 55 56). At this moment, Enkidu s life as an animal ends, but
his life continues as a human. Similarly, the snake that steals Gilgamesh s plant of

79). Travellers generally have very little understanding of the destination because they haven t been
there before. As a result, images that are promote the country in a strong and recognizable way easily
conveys people to choose that destination. Furthermore, after one s vacation, tourists gather their
opinions on the destinations success in providing sensational experiences and whether or not it
corresponds to their initial view of the place they got from consulting images (Danijela Križman
Pavlović, 2007, p. 542). The image of a destination according to Reynolds (1965), is defined based on
impressions that are derived from a flood of information . Promotional items such as adverts and
brochures, opinions coming from family members, friends and travel agents, media reports in
newspapers, magazines, television news, and documentaries are all different floods of information that
contribute to the formation of a destinations image. According to Echtner and Ritchie, the image one
has of a destination based on first hand information as well as one s experience can change after
having visited the place (Charlotte M. Echtner, 2003). When going on an experience that is related to
tourism, generally customers tend to look for as much information as possible, creating an image or
mental prototype of that destination.

The Death Of A Baby
The first cries of a baby echoed through the air. The cries were eager and joyous, as if the baby was
welcoming the world. The mother held the newborn baby and looked at her with pride that contrasted
her perspiring skin and shadowed eyes. Steady clicks were heard as a nurse came in. She was holding
a sleek glass tablet and briskly walked up to the side of the mother. The nurse projected a hologram of
numbers, graphs and tables with a triple tap on the glass.
The baby is in good condition: healthy heart rate, height at the seventy fifth percentile, head
circumference of 12 inches, Type O blood. There is one issue to contend with, but will only be an
issue in the far future. Do you want to hear it now? the nurse said professionally, ... Show more

and tenderly held her. The baby cooed and babbled, ignorant of the news. The man smiled slightly, but
it only twisted the somber expression on his face. There was a heavy silence as the baby fell asleep
and the couple digested the news.
We ll let her decide when she s old enough, the woman said. Making the decision for her would be
selfish and detrimental. She took a deep ragged breath, turning to her husband.
It would be. We could hope it may work out over time. Subjecting her to extensive tests for a cure
would only take away her childhood. Let s enjoy her while we can. the man said, gently rocking the
baby in his arms. What shall we name her? he asked, glancing back at his wife.
The woman laid back and closed her eyes, thinking hard. She did so for so long that the man thought
she had fallen asleep. As he began to pull up the hospital covers for her, she opened her eyes and said
Nova. For the cycle of destruction and creation within her. The woman smiled with satisfaction as she
looked at her husband and the sleeping baby.
Beautiful. I couldn t have thought of that. And her middle name? Must I decide that? the man said.

Catalase And Hydrogen Peroxide Lab Report
Introduction The mixture of liver and its enzyme catalase and hydrogen peroxide is the basis of this
experiment. This experiment was conducted to observe the enzyme catalase and how it reacts with
hydrogen peroxide. The liver was chosen as the catalyst in the experiment because that is where
catalases are predominantly found in mammals. This is a practical experiment because it teaches one
how catalases react with other substances and observing how they destroy harmful substances in the
living things. It also shows how enzymes speed up experiments. Enzymes are proteins that act as
catalysts within living cells. They are composed of long chains of amino acids. There is a point on an

Essay On If I Were President
If I Were President
Introduction
Raising NASA s budget could change the future for the entire population of Earth. If I were to be
president, I would bump up NASA s finances to help them find more planets in outer space. More
money would allow NASA to try to find new species that have never been seen before. Also, if a new
planet is found that could inhabit humans and other species, then maybe we could send criminals
there. Then here on Earth, we would have a more peaceful life. NASA needs more money that can
help pay for more useful and newer technology to find another planet. Bringing up NASA s budget
could lead to marvelous studies and programs. For example, we would be able to find new species that
have never been seen before. Another ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sending Criminals to A Different Planet
The second switch I would make would be to lift up NASA s funds to discover other planets where we
could send criminals. Thus, by doing this it could make our nation more peaceful. By sending
criminals away to a different planet we would not need jails. This could lead to more housing,
playgrounds, even a place for more buildings to help get jobs to unemployed people. Additionally, we
could send people to another planet if they intend to do crummy and sinful things to people and
animals. If we are able to get all malicious people off of Earth, then we would not have to worry about
being hurt by the stranger next to us. Living our lives without worrying about being hurt or killed
could change the way people live their lives. This would be an effective change that I would make if I
were to be President.
New Planet Found
Above all, the third adjustment that would happen if NASA s budget was raised, would result in
making newer and more efficient technology to help them find a new planet. Recently, at NASA s
Space Telescope, astronomers had found the first Earth size planet orbiting a star in the habitable zone.
While planets had been found before, they are all at least 40 percent larger in size than Earth and
understanding their makeup is challenging. The new planet orbits its star once every 130 days and can

Practicing God s Presence By Robert Elmer
Robert Elmer s Practicing God s Presence, is a modern translation of the delightful and profound
book, The Practice of the Presence of God, originally written in the 1600 s. Practicing God s Presence
has been a required reading at many colleges and loved by thousands as a classic and favorite
devotional. Elmer re wrote it in today s language, making it much easier to understand than its
predecessor. The Vicar de Beaufort recorded memories of his conversations with Brother Lawrence, a
seventeenth century monk, and sixteen letters he had written to longtime friends, which reflected his
sweet, simple and wholly trusting faith in God. Brother Lawrence especially seemed to take the
admonitions to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Deuteronomy
6:5), Pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17), and Fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) to heart,
as reflected in this lovely book.
Lawrence explained to Beaufort that he determined to do all he did, even the simplest of tasks, from
doing the dishes to picking up trash on the ground, for the love of God. He always tried to work for
the Lord in all he did, and applied his whole heart to loving and knowing him. He decided that the
shortest path to God called for a constant exercise of love. By applying himself to do everything for
God s love in every waking moment of the day, he came to know and experience God in a real and
powerful way. Instead of being diverted by the issues of daily

Societal Values In Social Work
Being in a social work field, ethical principles and values are significant. Societal values can be
similar to social work ethics, but they can also differ. Our own beliefs may go completely against the
Social Work Code of Ethics. At the same time, they also may align with the ethics perfectly. Out of the
seven societal values that we were given, I have lined them up with the social work principle values
like this: integrity with integrity; importance of human relationships with privacy; social justice with
equality and social justice; dignity and worth of the person with cultural diversity and freedom; lastly
competence with knowledge building.
According to the NASW Code of Ethics (2008), Social workers behave in a trustworthy manner. The
societal value that falls under this principle is integrity. I feel like this societal value is the same as the
ethical principles and values. Social workers act honestly and responsibly and promote ethical
practices (NASW, 2008). This standard is important in being honest and having solid moral principles
which comply with integrity. Integrity is crucial to both societal values and social work principles.
Another important societal value that also aligns with NASW Code of Ethics in privacy. Privacy falls
under importance of human relationships. Social workers seek to strengthen relationships among
people in a purposeful effort (NASW, 2008). Every client and every person want privacy and they
deserve it. This ethical standard

Essay Comparing Matrix And Descartes Meditation
The summaries from The Matrix, Plato s The Allegory of the Cave, and Descartes Meditation, I can
conclude that there are many similarities between these stories, as well as a few differences in the two
stories. It would be accurate to say that The Matrix and Plato s Allegory of the Cave were more
similar than that of Descartes Meditation. I feel like I can reach this conclusion because the people
involved in both of these stories felt like they were living in a world where everything around them
was deceptive to how life was lived and how the world actually worked. In the Matrix, Neo was
exposed to the real world rather blatently. He quickly discovered that everything he assumed to be real

sometimes it was easier to accept truth at first, compared to later on after experiencing the scenario

In Literacy and the digital knowledge revolution (2006), Claire Belisle refers to digital knowledge , as

Literacy believes that literacy is the basis of knowledge acquisition and, with the stronger interaction
between humans and technology and the way we acquire and interpret information and data from the

What Is The Symbolism Of Boys And Girls
Symbolism of the Munro s Boys and Girls
The short story Boys and Girls was written by Canadian writer Alice Munro in the 60s. It looks inside
the family of a fox breeder with two children: an unnamed girl and her brother Laird. The girl is
narrator of this story. The work showed a typical life of a breeder the man looked after foxes, but
treated them only a source of a good fur. The girl wanted to be closer to her father in spite of fact she
was afraid of him a little and did not know what he thought about, unlike her mother. In this he was
quite different from my mother, who... would tell me all sorts of things the name of a dog she had had
when she was a little girl [or] the names of boys she had gone out with later on when she was grown
up (Munro 3). The narrator did not want to play a standardized female role. The girl did not like any
types of the house work and did not obey ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, her attitude started to change when she was eleven years old. The narrator and her brother
became witnesses of the horse s murder. After that the girl did not stop the second animal deliberately,
in spite of the fact she knew her father needed it too feed foxes and maintain the family respectively.
Laird took part in the murder of the second horse and let on his sister. Children s father finished this
conversation with the focus on the narrator s sex: Never mind, my father said. He spoke with
resignation, even good humour the words which absolved and dismissed me for good. She s only a
girl, he said (Munro 12). The main message of the story Boys and Girls is that people star to play
prescribed gender roles at a certain time regardless of their own attitude and opinion. Author used

American Football Players Analysis
Starting Safely: Positions in American Football Positions are important in every aspect of life, from
lying in bed to driving a car. Where one being is in relation to another is extremely vital to the well
being and safety of those involved. In What is the Safest Sprint Starting Position for American
Football Players?, an expository text about a scientific experiment, authors Bruno Bonnechere, Benoit
Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint claim that they have isolated the correct position
American football players should use when playing. This optimal position is the one most likely to
protect the players and prevent any severe head injuries from occurring on the field. In the beginning
of this article, the authors discuss the current dangers facing many football players of concussions and
long term effects of injuries to the head and neck. Due to these major risks, an experiment was
conducted with both football players and non players to determine the best starting position to lower
the potential damage from collisions. These athletes participated in many study trials with the different
beginning placements of the trunk and head in relation to the ground. They were tested ... Show more

This position is widely used, regardless of how risky it is for the players involved. However, there is
no perfect solution; there s only a better one. The experiment showed that it is difficult to determine
the optimal position due to the conflict of good performance vs. low chance of harm (Bonnechere,
2014). The authors chose to propose a balance between two positions that offers a medium risk,
especially if there has been previous trauma experienced by a player. If a football player has had a
concussion before or is at a higher chance of receiving one, the 2 point start is the safest out of all
three positions studied (Bonnechere,

The Conception Of Dreams Is Interesting Because It Helps...
Dreams can occur at anytime of the day. Some people day dream at school or work while others dream
at night. Even if you did not dream last night, you probably have earlier in life or even before reading
this sentence. Have you ever had a dream you forgot to print out a worksheet and got in trouble for it
at school? Then, you wake up with your heart racing and print out the worksheets before you forget.
How are dreams created during sleep? During rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, the brain gathers
images and thoughts to create realistic or imaginative dreams. There has been some debate if these
dreams could actually help someone in their life. Whether it helps them just a little or substantially,
people can use all the help they can receive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stress accumulates, depressive moods and thoughts develop day after day which creates an
unhealthy atmosphere for anyone. This could lead to negative thoughts and unproductivity of any task
at hand. However, one of the solutions discovered to help with the depressing thoughts and moods was
through dreaming at night. According a study performed by Rosalind Cartwright, the study showed
that 72% of the subjects had less depression after dreaming (Chatterjee). How was this possible?
There was a decreased development of depression while moods changed throughout the night. This
could be explained by experiencing a pleasant dream which causes a release of pleasure
neurotransmitters such as serotonin or dopamine. Pleasant dreams could be anything from
superpowers related to even sexual. Another interesting thing about dreams, it can help someone find a
problem that is bothering them through nightmares or dream adventures. Therefore, an explication of a
dream can lead to understanding personality dynamics and promote behavioral change (Merced 183).
Dreams could point out personality dynamics that need changing following a traumatic experience.
People s personality changes with every experience that occurs to them; therefore, it is possible to be
happy one day then sad another day. Dreams can lead the dreamer to the problem and help get them
mentally back on track. With dreams mentally being able to help,

National Patient Safety Goals
THE JOINT COMMISSION Patient safety one of the driving forces of healthcare. Patient safety is
defined as, the absence of preventable harm to a patient during the process of healthcare or as the
prevention of errors and adverse events caused by the provision of healthcare rather than the patient s
underlying disease process. (Kangasniemi, Vaismoradi, Jasper, Turunen, 2013) . It was just as
important in the past as it is day. Our healthcare field continues to strive to make improvement toward

Minor notes I allow they may even seem quibbles when the dancing is so much fun...Alexandrova,
Krysanova, and Kretova all seem to perform their fouettes with low legs Alexandrova and Kretova
from beginning to end. Krysanova at least begins with a higher leg, for example, in the doubles (I
thought they were doubles) with which she began her sequence in Don Q, only decidedly lowering the
leg when she switched to singles and, simultaneously, picked up more and more speed. I m not a fan
of this look, but at least with Krysanova we get the blazing speed as a pay off. With the others not
really I just have to write it off as a Bolshoi thing...Krysanova also offered the most brilliant line of

The video shows an instructor for the daycare sitting on the ground with three stunning toddlers

clothespins each. The daycare trainer holds the plastic bottle in front of each infant individually with
hoping that one of the infants would place the wood clothespin thru the opened pinnacle to finally
drop the clothespin inside the plastic bottle. The video shows that the trainer has a plastic bottle (the

one or clothespins each. The daycare instructor holds the plastic bottle in the front of each infant in my
opinion with hoping that one of the toddlers might location the timber clothespin through the opened

trainer is aware that the third toddler (the 1/3 little one with the blond hair) is having an entirely tough
time setting his clothespin inside the plastic bottle. The instructor noticed that he has about three
clothespins in his hand which she took away two, leaving him with one clothespin, the teacher then

The NCAA must decide whether if it is a business or not. If the NCAA became a nonprofit

actual worth to the school is worth way more than the scholarship itself. That combine with players

Big Ideas For The Great Gatsby
I think one of the big ideas that the novel deals with is the importance of feelings versus wants and
needs when making a decision, as exemplified by Daisy s struggle to overcome her own selfish desires
and simply love Gatsby for who he is as opposed to his bank account. Many of the characters have a
war with materialism, with Daisy and Tom falling prey to it and characters such as the narrator
becoming disgusted by it. This theme also hints at the complexity of the novel, because materialism
itself was fueled by the lavish spirit of the times, where people who had more things were
subsequently those with a higher social standing and influence, and everyone felt a pressing need to
satisfy their material desires, at the expense of the dreams

Higher Education in Saudi Aberia
This research paper introduces, analyzes and evaluates the situation of higher education in Saudi
Arabia in terms of the past, present and future. Both the past form and the present situation have their
strong sides and weakness. Since education is very important for a country s future, it is helpful to
know what essences a good education system should have, how education contributes to a country s
power, and what improvements need to be made to make education better serve the development of
Saudi Arabia.
Introduction
Higher education is an important, if not the most important aspect, in a country s functions and
abilities to fulfill current national needs and strive for a brighter future. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
was established in 1932. It was a poor country initially, with a small educational system comprising of
only 12 schools and 700 students. Situation changed after 1938, when large amount of oil was
discovered underground in Saudi Arabia. The kingdom became quite wealthy, leading to the
accelerating development of this country s educational system as well. Understanding the historical
development of higher education in Saudi Arabia, evaluating the strength and weakness in different
times, and knowing what an effective educational system should be are helpful in improving the level
of higher education in Saudi Arabia, which is necessary for this country to constantly enhance its
power in global competitions and keep a strong standing in the world.

Discuss the Male Reproductive System
The reproductive system is questionably the body system that is the most important influence on life
as we know it. It is the w ay in which we procreate and ensure our existence as a species. However,
the penis is only one part of the male reproductive system, which constitutes of a series responsible for
generating, storing, and transporting the genetic material contained in the sperm cells. The main
organs include: testicles (or testes), the epididymides, the vas deferens, the ejaculatory duct, the
urethra, and the penis. Others are the scrotum, urogenital opening, and the prostate gland.

Testes are kept in the scrotum sac and are two oval shaped glands, about 8,5cm long and 2.5cm wide.
A midline septum divides the scrotum into two halves and each testical is covered in two tunics; the
Tunica vaginalis from the peritoneum and the Tunica albuginea which is a deeper tunic and a fibrous
capsule. The septa from this layer then divides the testes into 250 300 wedge shaped compartments or
lobules. It is in these lobules that seminiferous tubules are found, where sperm is made. Each lobule
contains about 1 4 seminiferous tubules. The network into which seminiferous tubules empty is called
the Rete testis. After which, the epididymis receives sperm from the rete testis network.
The scrotum is a loose sac of skin and superficial fascia outside the abdominopelvic cavity, fascia, and
smooth muscle that encloses and supports the testes outside the body at an optimum temperature for
the production of sperm, about 3 degrees below body temperature. When the temperature is too low,
the spermatic cord (This cord is surrounded by skeletal muscle and suspends the testes) tightens thus
pulling the testes closer to the body. When the temperature is too hot, the cord relaxes resulting in the
testes moving further away from the body. The muscles responsible for this are Cremaster muscles,
which extend from the internal obliques and elevate the testes. Most men might have noticed that
when this happens, the scrotum skin wrinkles. This is due to the smooth muscle in the

The Heart Of Atlanta Motel
Facts: The Heart of Atlanta Motel had 216 rooms available to its guests. Appellant, the owner of the
heavily populated motel in Atlanta, Georgia, limits their patron list to Caucasians only. Appellant put
many advertisement ads into magazines and radio shows to attract those visiting Georgia to stay in the
motel. Many African Americans would come to his motel asking to buy a room for the night. But, he
wanted the choice of deciding who had the opportunity to stay in the hotel. He did not want African
Americans staying in the motel because of personal reasons. Appellant filled a suit in court on the

Under such circumstances, the AIRC is not permitted by the WRA to mediate, unless the industry is

to be further involved through arbitration, however QANTAS management refused this motion. They
were even refusing to attend negotiations, unless the threat of industrial actions was removed. An
example of the AIRC attempting to resolve the dispute occurred on 11th December 2001, when they

The Federal Court also became involved in the dispute when Unions sought Common Law Action to

employees obtaining a 6% across the board pay rise (although 1/3 employees voted to reject this deal

were most affected, but they were not the only stakeholders who had a role in it. The Trade Unions

tremendous job in their respective tracks, and the production work is unbelievably well done. Lyrical
work on Clear is similar to the musicianship on each track: different yet coherent. Although only four

then the thickness was measured to the nearest 0.1 mm using a caliper. Baseline clinical parameters

The concerns and problems of the people living in nineteenth century England differed dramatically
from those that eventually challenged those living in the same place during the 20th century. During
the nineteenth century the English were plagued with many epidemics, but lacked the knowledge and
capability to successfully treat and eliminate these diseases. London, like other British cities, had

Further, they questioned whether a common strand was responsible for the fever which accompanied
all of the diseases. In attempting to answer these questions the physicians of the period examined such
factors as: (1) dependence upon certain atmospheric conditions; (2) obedience to similar laws of
diffusion; (3) all infesting the same localities; (4) all attacking the same classes of people; and (5)all
increased in severity in unsanitary conditions. (Pelling, 64).
The General Board of Health of London produced a report on cholera in 1850. The primary purpose of
the report was to indicate that the pattern of the epidemic had confirmed the predilations of the
metropolitan sanitary commissioners. That is, that cholera could be prevented if closer attention was
paid to sanitary conditions. Specifically, if problems such as overcrowded living conditions, filth,
dampness, dirty water, drain pipes in poor condition, and improper storage and preparation of food
were addressed. (Pelling, 78).
In order to understand the epidemics which dominated the nineteenth century one must listen to the
voices of the time. These voices speak of factory workers being forced to work incredibly long hours
in filthy conditions for very little money, several families living together in one room apartments with
no running water.

Roman Culture
Introduction There have been examples of conquering forces with a simple agenda of bringing the
ultimate mayhem upon their enemies and wiping out the cultural heritage of their enemies together
with the civilians. Romans however were ravenous for plunder, culturally curious, interested in
enslavement of their enemies, and good at incorporating the captured in their societies; on the top of
that, they had a relatively good understanding of being politically organized. These were not
necessarily mutually exclusive with the acts of ultimate violence, and a good example would be the
battle of Pydn in 198 BC and Rome s harsh treatment of this Greek city (Wasson, 2015). However, in
peace or war, the interest of Romans in the Hellenistic Greece ... Show more content on

  • 2. Message To Messengers on one s life. Another Heron song that is rooted in his personal life, while also mainly associating with social issues is Message to Messengers. In his album Spirits, published in 1994, Heron created a lengthy masterpiece in the form of his poetic style song, Message to the Messengers. In this famous piece, Heron talks about many social problems that African Americans face in modern society. The most significant quote that sums up the entire song is when Heron states, Sometimes they tell lies and put em in a truthful disguise/ But the truth is that s why we said it wouldn t be televised. Referring to his earlier song, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, Heron is urging people who are not only in the African American community, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Patterson Hood, the lead singer of Drive By Truckers, wrote What It Means a few years ago in protest of the Ferguson shooting of Trayvon Martin. To Hood s disappointment, in addition to the disappointment of millions, the song is still incredibly appropriate in today s society. In Killer Mike s Reagan, Killer Mike does not only blame Reagan for the atrocities of society, but includes the administrations that follow in both H.W. and George Bush, Bill Clinton, and even Barack Obama. The point that both artists are trying to get across is that the idea of social and racial injustice is ever common today as it was in some of the worst times in American history. The only difficulty in seeing the issues that plague society is that the knowledge of the average citizen is clouded by false information stimulated by politics. To find the truth in the corruption of society, it is up to each citizen of the country to address the notions that There s no sunlight in our ass and our heads are stuck up in it, or if we Will ever do it big, or just keep settling for lil shit? In other words, everyone needs to start thinking about the truth with an intuitive, logical perspective as opposed to what politics are feeding the public. Also, if people want change, they cannot settle for small victories, they need to enact drastic actions to witness notable changes. An ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You have taught me ELA in the past two years, in grade nine first semester, and also in grade ten ELA advanced placement in semester one. My skills in English has improved since I moved to Canada three years ago. In Nigeria, I was taught how to write a paragraph differently from what it is in Canada, and this makes it difficult for me to write up to the Canadian standard. What I enjoy about English is that the novels and short stories studies. There are some things that bother me about in the past are: I was not able to reach the goal (overall percentage mark) in ELA last year. I do not relate with people that much because they are more knowledgeable in English Language than I do. I get intimidated easily and my essay writing is not up to the advanced placement standard. I read books for pleasure, reading books is one of my favorite spare time activities. I do not consider myself a writer anymore because I always find it hard to start a paragraph or essay or anything and I lost interest. When I was little, I wrote lots of short stories to the extent of writng a short story book. Most of the stories written were based on the childhood movies I watched e.g. Barbie movie, tom and jerry. Unfortunately for me, the story book was not edited neither was it published. This is because I had no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 6. Analysis Of Ring Around The Rosie My mom used to sing Ring Around the Rosie to me and my siblings. Although the memory is vague I can remember the fun we had singing the nursery rhythm. We would hold hands and form a circle, swaying to the words. We would first start out slow and increase our speed so when we got to the last verse we would fall down with some of us on top of each other. I chose this because of the fond memories in my childhood and the fun we all had. Another reason I chose this is because it reminds me of my childhood and growing up with my siblings. The origin of this nursery rhyme can have a variety of different meanings throughout the world. This nursery rhyme can have a lot of different meanings between different people. Ring Around the Rosie , is a fun interactive game that kids hold hands with each other and form a circle. The kids all say Ashes, Ashes and they all fall down. This is the kid s favorite part of the song because they get to fall down while having fun. This nursery rhyme is a fun way to have kids play with each other and have a wonderful time doing it. Another meaning of this nursery rhyme could be associated with the Black Death. This is because whenever the children sing the song and they say all fall down that could mean the death of another person. Another reason this could signify the Black Death is that when it said ashes it means that person has died and is cremated after they die from the bubonic plague. To explain this further, it is saying that this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Essay on The Epic of Gilgamesh on Immortality and Its... As long as humans have lived and died, we have strived to know the meaning of life. We assume that there is a meaning or importance to life, and in doing so try to provide some permanence to our existence so that a greater machine might continue to function. It is only natural, then, for us to be interested in the concept of immortality. If there is purpose to an ending life, a life that does not end must be supremely important. This idea is exemplified throughout time in stories both historical and fictional. The Epic of Gilgamesh is one such story. Gilgamesh deals with immortality on nearly every level, and at the same time points back to mortality, trying to extract a reason for living and dying. Ostensively, The Epic of Gilgamesh ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the Bull of Heaven is sent to Uruk from the gods, Gilgamesh and Enkidu slay it quickly by stabbing a sword into the Bull s neck (Gilgamesh 82). If the Bull of Heaven is a god, then clearly the gods can be killed. The Bull of Heaven also seems to be a guardian of sorts for the gods, which implies the gods need protection. Later the story describes a flood weapon that gods are actually fearful of (Gilgamesh 113), perhaps because it could bring about their death. This all makes an interesting distinction between immortality and invincibility – although life might continue forever if left alone, it is not necessarily incapable of being stopped. And the spiritual life seems to continue for humans when the physical life ends. Enkidu talks about being taken to a horrible afterlife: He seized me, drove me down to the house where those who stay are deprived of light, where dust is their food, and clay their bread. (Gilgamesh 89). Thus, while humans might be able to obtain spiritual immortality, it will only be a state of suffering, which reflects back to the negativity of seeking immortality in life. Gilgamesh also deals with perpetual life by symbolically demonstrating death and rebirth. Enkidu, after having intercourse with the prostitute Shamhat, is rejected by the animal kingdom that was his home (Gilgamesh 55 56). At this moment, Enkidu s life as an animal ends, but his life continues as a human. Similarly, the snake that steals Gilgamesh s plant of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result, images that are promote the country in a strong and recognizable way easily conveys people to choose that destination. Furthermore, after one s vacation, tourists gather their opinions on the destinations success in providing sensational experiences and whether or not it corresponds to their initial view of the place they got from consulting images (Danijela Križman Pavlović, 2007, p. 542). The image of a destination according to Reynolds (1965), is defined based on impressions that are derived from a flood of information . Promotional items such as adverts and brochures, opinions coming from family members, friends and travel agents, media reports in newspapers, magazines, television news, and documentaries are all different floods of information that contribute to the formation of a destinations image. According to Echtner and Ritchie, the image one has of a destination based on first hand information as well as one s experience can change after having visited the place (Charlotte M. Echtner, 2003). When going on an experience that is related to tourism, generally customers tend to look for as much information as possible, creating an image or mental prototype of that destination. ... • 9. The Death Of A Baby The first cries of a baby echoed through the air. The cries were eager and joyous, as if the baby was welcoming the world. The mother held the newborn baby and looked at her with pride that contrasted her perspiring skin and shadowed eyes. Steady clicks were heard as a nurse came in. She was holding a sleek glass tablet and briskly walked up to the side of the mother. The nurse projected a hologram of numbers, graphs and tables with a triple tap on the glass. The baby is in good condition: healthy heart rate, height at the seventy fifth percentile, head circumference of 12 inches, Type O blood. This experiment was conducted to observe the enzyme catalase and how it reacts with hydrogen peroxide. The liver was chosen as the catalyst in the experiment because that is where catalases are predominantly found in mammals. This is a practical experiment because it teaches one how catalases react with other substances and observing how they destroy harmful substances in the living things. It also shows how enzymes speed up experiments. Enzymes are proteins that act as catalysts within living cells. They are composed of long chains of amino acids. If I were to be president, I would bump up NASA s finances to help them find more planets in outer space. More money would allow NASA to try to find new species that have never been seen before. Also, if a new planet is found that could inhabit humans and other species, then maybe we could send criminals there. Then here on Earth, we would have a more peaceful life. This could lead to more housing, playgrounds, even a place for more buildings to help get jobs to unemployed people. Additionally, we could send people to another planet if they intend to do crummy and sinful things to people and animals. If we are able to get all malicious people off of Earth, then we would not have to worry about being hurt by the stranger next to us. Living our lives without worrying about being hurt or killed could change the way people live their lives. This would be an effective change that I would make if I were to be President. Practicing God s Presence By Robert Elmer Robert Elmer s Practicing God s Presence, is a modern translation of the delightful and profound book, The Practice of the Presence of God, originally written in the 1600 s. Practicing God s Presence has been a required reading at many colleges and loved by thousands as a classic and favorite devotional. Elmer re wrote it in today s language, making it much easier to understand than its predecessor. The Vicar de Beaufort recorded memories of his conversations with Brother Lawrence, a seventeenth century monk, and sixteen letters he had written to longtime friends, which reflected his sweet, simple and wholly trusting faith in God. Brother Lawrence especially seemed to take the admonitions to Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength (Deuteronomy 6:5), Pray without ceasing (I Thessalonians 5:17), and Fix your eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:2) to heart, as reflected in this lovely book. Lawrence explained to Beaufort that he determined to do all he did, even the simplest of tasks, from doing the dishes to picking up trash on the ground, for the love of God. He always tried to work for the Lord in all he did, and applied his whole heart to loving and knowing him. He decided that the shortest path to God called for a constant exercise of love. By applying himself to do everything for God s love in every waking moment of the day, he came to know and experience God in a real and powerful way. Our own beliefs may go completely against the Social Work Code of Ethics. At the same time, they also may align with the ethics perfectly. Out of the seven societal values that we were given, I have lined them up with the social work principle values like this: integrity with integrity; importance of human relationships with privacy; social justice with equality and social justice; dignity and worth of the person with cultural diversity and freedom; lastly competence with knowledge building. According to the NASW Code of Ethics (2008), Social workers behave in a trustworthy manner. The societal value that falls under this principle is integrity. I feel like this societal value is the same as the ethical principles and values. Social workers act honestly and responsibly and promote ethical practices (NASW, 2008). This standard is important in being honest and having solid moral principles which comply with integrity. Integrity is crucial to both societal values and social work principles. Another important societal value that also aligns with NASW Code of Ethics in privacy. Privacy falls under importance of human relationships. According a study performed by Rosalind Cartwright, the study showed that 72% of the subjects had less depression after dreaming (Chatterjee). How was this possible? There was a decreased development of depression while moods changed throughout the night. The next point won whether you are leading as the server or returner wins the game. You have two chances to put your serve into the service box, if your first serve misses. After each service game, you must switch from the advantage side to the deuce side of the court. For every odd numbered game you and your opponent switch sides on the court. Essay about Discuss the Male Reproductive System Discuss the Male Reproductive System The reproductive system is questionably the body system that is the most important influence on life as we know it. It is the w ay in which we procreate and ensure our existence as a species. However, the penis is only one part of the male reproductive system, which constitutes of a series responsible for generating, storing, and transporting the genetic material contained in the sperm cells. The main organs include: testicles (or testes), the epididymides, the vas deferens, the ejaculatory duct, the urethra, and the penis. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Testes are kept in the scrotum sac and are two oval shaped glands, about 8,5cm long and 2.5cm wide. A midline septum divides the scrotum into two halves and each testical is covered in two tunics; the Tunica vaginalis from the peritoneum and the Tunica albuginea which is a deeper tunic and a fibrous capsule. The septa from this layer then divides the testes into 250 300 wedge shaped compartments or lobules. It is in these lobules that seminiferous tubules are found, where sperm is made. Each lobule contains about 1 4 seminiferous tubules. The network into which seminiferous tubules empty is called the Rete testis. After which, the epididymis receives sperm from the rete testis network. The scrotum is a loose sac of skin and superficial fascia outside the abdominopelvic cavity, fascia, and smooth muscle that encloses and supports the testes outside the body at an optimum temperature for the production of sperm, about 3 degrees below body temperature. When the temperature is too low, the spermatic cord (This cord is surrounded by skeletal muscle and suspends the testes) tightens thus pulling the testes closer to the body. When the temperature is too hot, the cord relaxes resulting in the testes moving further away from the body. The muscles responsible for this are Cremaster muscles, which extend from the internal obliques and elevate the testes. Most men might have noticed that when this happens, the scrotum skin wrinkles. This is due to the smooth muscle in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Appellant, the owner of the heavily populated motel in Atlanta, Georgia, limits their patron list to Caucasians only. Appellant put many advertisement ads into magazines and radio shows to attract those visiting Georgia to stay in the motel. Many African Americans would come to his motel asking to buy a room for the night. But, he wanted the choice of deciding who had the opportunity to stay in the hotel. He did not want African Americans staying in the motel because of personal reasons. Appellant filled a suit in court on the bases that the Civil Rights Act of 1964, that prohibited racial discrimination in places of public accommodation affecting commerce exceeded congress s enumerated powers under the Commerce Clause and violated other parts of the Constitution. The African Americans, appellees , counterclaim, decreed that appellant permanently stop refusing to accommodate to Negro guests for personal racial issues/reasons. The appellant disputes that Congress, in passing this Act, exceeded its enumerated powers to regulate commerce under article one of the Constitution of the United States. That the Act violates the Fifth Amendment because appellant is deprived of the right to choose its customers and operate its business as it wishes, resulting in a taking of his personal liberty and property without due process of law. Ten out of twelve unions under QANTAS accepted the terms of the agreement, barring the unions of manufacturing employees (AWU and AMWU). They were holding out for a 4 6% pay rise. An example of the AIRC attempting to resolve the dispute occurred on 11th December 2001, when they recommended that unions take QANTAS latest offer to employees. It was overwhelmingly rejected. The Federal Court also became involved in the dispute when Unions sought Common Law Action to halt the standing down of manufacturing workers, however QANTAS was allowed a 72 hour adjournment. The AIRC tried facilitated the dispute through conciliation, i.e. by conducting meetings with both employees and management in attendance. On the 8th May, the dispute was resolved with employees obtaining a 6% across the board pay rise (although 1/3 employees voted to reject this deal as well). The employees and management were the primary stakeholders in the dispute and hence were most affected, but they were not the only stakeholders who had a role in it. Essay Review of the Band Periphery and Their Album Clear Periphery Clear Review Periphery is a band well known in the metal community as one of the pioneers of the djent/progressive metal movement. They have gained a loyal and sizeable fanbase through their previous two releases, Periphery and Periphery II: This Time It s Personal, as both albums were very innovative and successful. Clear is Periphery s latest EP, released on 1/28/2014, via Sumerian Records. This EP is a unique release, and deviates from the standard Periphery releases in that instead of every Periphery member working on this record together, each member individually works on one song and the album is basically a collection of these tracks. Periphery has stated that this release is meant to be experimental, and not a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pale Aura is my favorite track off Clear and one of my favorite Periphery songs of all time, as everything from the vocals, the instrumentals, to the mood of the track are pieced together so well that it gives me chills. As a whole, there s really not much to complain about the E.P, as each member did a tremendous job in their respective tracks, and the production work is unbelievably well done. Lyrical work on Clear is similar to the musicianship on each track: different yet coherent. Although only four of the tracks have vocals, and the lyrics are all written by different people, each member of Periphery is so talented that none of the songs portray a drop in lyrical quality. My favorite song lyrically would have to be Feed the Ground , as the lyrics are so unique yet interesting. Shots fired and I ve got a fucking reason, To suffocate when the breath leads to treason, cut the ties, collect what s mine, burn everything to the fucking ground. However, the lyrics on Pale Aura , The Parade of Ashes , and The Summer Jam are awesome as well, each fitting the mood and atmosphere of the tracks. Overall, Clear by Periphery is a very impressive album, as we are able to hear each individual member s music style and understand the band a lot better. Although this is just an experiment for the band, it produced some of my favorite Periphery tracks of all time such as The Summer Jam , Feed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

KTW was measured from the most apical point of GM to the MGJ at the middle buccal point. GT was evaluated using #15 endodontic reamer attached to a rubber stopper inserted perpendicularly into the gingival tissue 2 mm below GM under local anesthesia, and then the thickness was measured to the nearest 0.1 mm using a caliper. Baseline clinical parameters were obtained by retrospective evaluation of records of the patients. The following variables were obtained from the pre treatment records and included as possible predictors of outcome of root coverage procedures: 1. Root surface area (RSA): calculated as RD x RW. 2. Interdental clinical attachment level (CAL). On digital photographs showing the buccal aspect of the tooth taken as much perpendicular as possible to the long axis of the tooth, the tip of the papilla (A) was first identified. Lines were then traced passing through A and tangent to the profile of the crowns of the teeth to identify reference points (B1 and B2) (Fig. 1). The following measurements were obtained in millimeters: 3. Inter dental papilla width (IPW): the distance between B1 and B2. 4. Height of mesial and distal interdental papilla (IPH mes, IPH dis): Measured as the distance from the tip of the papilla (A) to the mid point of the base of the papilla (the line connecting B1 and B2) (8). 5. Elliot The concerns and problems of the people living in nineteenth century England differed dramatically from those that eventually challenged those living in the same place during the 20th century. During the nineteenth century the English were plagued with many epidemics, but lacked the knowledge and capability to successfully treat and eliminate these diseases. Further, they questioned whether a common strand was responsible for the fever which accompanied all of the diseases. In attempting to answer these questions the physicians of the period examined such factors as: (1) dependence upon certain atmospheric conditions; (2) obedience to similar laws of diffusion; (3) all infesting the same localities; (4) all attacking the same classes of people; and (5)all increased in severity in unsanitary conditions. (Pelling, 64). The General Board of Health of London produced a report on cholera in 1850. The primary purpose of the report was to indicate that the pattern of the epidemic had confirmed the predilations of the metropolitan sanitary commissioners. That is, that cholera could be prevented if closer attention was paid to sanitary conditions. Specifically, if problems such as overcrowded living conditions, filth, dampness, dirty water, drain pipes in poor condition, and improper storage and preparation of food were addressed. (Pelling, 78). In order to understand the epidemics which dominated the nineteenth century one must listen to the voices of the time. These voices speak of factory workers being forced to work incredibly long hours in filthy conditions for very little money, several families living together in one room apartments with no running water. ... Roman Culture Introduction There have been examples of conquering forces with a simple agenda of bringing the ultimate mayhem upon their enemies and wiping out the cultural heritage of their enemies together with the civilians. Romans however were ravenous for plunder, culturally curious, interested in enslavement of their enemies, and good at incorporating the captured in their societies; on the top of that, they had a relatively good understanding of being politically organized. These were not necessarily mutually exclusive with the acts of ultimate violence, and a good example would be the battle of Pydn in 198 BC and Rome s harsh treatment of this Greek city (Wasson, 2015). Greeks taught Romans how to write sophisticated poems, comedy, and history (Morey, 1901). Art: Roman form of art expressed itself in their structures and building, however, the more polished form of art containing a prevailing artistic taste in beauty was missing in their culture. Although Romans couldn t compete with Greek artists, their admiration for Greek art showed itself in the decoration of their houses and how they collected and ultimately preserved Greek art (Morey, 1901). Manners and Morals: Romans manners and morals was less likely to undergo significant and fundamental changes since the lack of a genuine interest and the presence of their barbarous spirit were always in the way (Morey, 1901).We still remember how Spartan resisted the luxurious life style and went as far as making the life intolerable and hard for their soldiers. Morey (1901) point out that Romans were also divided on this topic and while some like Cato the Censor strongly opposed Greek etiquettes and ideas, others like Scipio Africanus welcomed them.
