Case Study Chipotle Mexican Grill
Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. is considered part of the fast casual and high quality food restaurant
industry. The fast casual industry is today the fastest growing segment of the restaurant industry. The
definition of a fast casual restaurant is an establishment that promises rapid service, higher quality
foods, and a more enjoyable atmosphere than that usually offered at a typical fast food restaurant.
(Analysis of Strategic move by Chipotle book). Therefore this industry is poisoned right in between
the fast food restaurant and casual dining restaurant industry. It is considered part of the fast food due
to the following qualities; high speed service, self service, simple menu, no drive thru provided. The
casual dining due to the higher quality

Effects Of Abnormal Profits On The Long Run Essay
2. Abnormal Profits in the Long Run
Normal Profit occurs when the average revenue is equal to the average total cost. Abnormal profit is
therefore defined as extra profit above normal profit. In the long run, oligopolies make abnormal
profits, due to the assumption of high barriers to entry. When firms in an industry seem to be making
abnormal profit, it may attract new entrants into the market; causing an increase in supply and
therefore a decrease in price leading to normal profits. However since there are high barriers to entry
in an oligopolistic market, an influx of new firms into the market is highly unlikely, therefore
abnormal profits are sustained in the long run.
Diagram 2.0
3. Non Price Competition
As previously discussed, price stickiness is one of the implications under the assumptions of the
oligopoly model. Since changing price will generally result in the loss of profits and market share;
firms compete using non price related strategies. One of these methods includes product improvement.
If firms improve the quality of the product or implement characteristics that their targeted
demographic enjoy, they can charge more for the product or attract a greater consumer base. Firms
operating in an oligopolistic firm also invest largely in marketing of their product. Raising awareness
regarding the product will encourage more sales if advertisements appeal to audience. Branding and
consumer loyalty is an artificial barrier to entry and a

How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction Experiment
From the results that were collect throughout the experimental investigation has proved the hypothesis
to only be partially right. Multiple tests were made when conducting the experiment, two clear
solutions were combined at various temperatures and concentrations. The hypothesis states that by
adjusting the concentration of the reactants will cause the reaction to either speed up at a higher
concentration or slow down at a lower concentration. In the reaction temperature should have a similar
effect on the experiment, in that increasing the temperature will cause an increase of particle
movement and cause more collision, thus increasing the reaction rate. Therefore decreasing the
temperature will decrease the rate of the reaction. From the results given in Tables 2 and 3 it shown
that every time the concentration is halved the time is increased. When the concentrations of both
KIO3 and NaHSO3 are decreased the time has increased, some concentrations having a higher
increase than others. In each concentration decrease the time is at least doubled from the previous
concentration time, which is therefore increasing the rate of the reaction. Although unlike the change
in concentration, when the temperature of the reactants were either increased or decreased their was
no significant change. As shown in table 4. When the temperature was either increased or decreased to
10°C, 30°C, 40°C and 50°C the average times are all within one second of each other. Except for
when the reactants were cooled to a further 5°C the reaction time was increased by more than double
the reaction time. This showing that the results from the investigation did not fully support the stated
hypothesis. The standard rate law for the Iodine Clock reaction, is a first order reaction for KIO3 and a
second order reaction for NaHSO3. To determine this you must substitute the values into the equations
and whichever produces a straight line graph determines whether it is a first or second order reaction.
In graph 1. It shows that KIO3 is a second order reaction, this is due to the second order reaction
graph being straighter than the first order graph. This meaning the reaction proceeds at a rate
proportional to the square of the concentration,

Causes And Impacts Of The Japanese Occupation Of Malaysia
Literature Review In the making of this study, the author depended in the research on some literatures
and works in libraries and article journal. There have been a lot of written works and books on
Japanese occupation of Malaya. Nevertheless, is yet to find the exactly same works on Japanese
occupation of Malaya. To understand the historical background or the reasons and impact behind the
invasion of Japanese Occupation, there are several books that can provide good insight to such a
study. In the case of Japanese Occupation, one of the best discourses to be reviewed is the work of
Cheah Boon Kheng entitled Red Star over Malaya: Resistance and Social Conflict during and after the

attack in Tanah Melayu which recognized with purposes for getting raw materials to industries such as
oil, tin ore, and iron ore. In addition, the Japanese also need industrial output or to export their product
into the trade market which needed raw materials and labors. Japanese army attacked from the air of
the southern Thai namely Kota Bharu and then heading to south namely Kuala Lumpur and
Singapore. Japanese army take approximately 70 days in killing all defense British army assisted by
Indian and Australian army.. There is also explained about the British army that had approximately
140,000 people can be easily killed by the Japanese army that approximately about 100,000 people.
Among the causes of the defeat of the British army is their confidence in terms of strategic oversight.
They are so sure that Japanese army will not attack from the North but will attack from the South from
the sea, but the Japanese actually attacking from the North and British army were fooled. Besides,

Comparing The Visit To Grandmother And The Leap
Does one truly know how ones child might feel towards his or her parent? In the two short stories A
Visit to Grandmother by William Melvin Kelly and The Leap by Louise Erdrich some similarities can
be found in the children that grow up there early life not knowing there parents love them. The
children do this because of simple misunderstandings between the parent s actions towards them and
the actions towards there siblings. This causes the characters to feel unloved and second rate. Which
either causes the characters to grow or to grow bitter for the rest of the characters lives. The parents
could have prevented most of the young characters bitter feelings just by treating the parents kids
equally and telling them they are loved. Now what may happen to the two young characters in there
later years will the characters be able to grow out of the tragedies of there early life s and become
stronger or will the characters become bitter there entire life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

and feels he is not as loved as G.L. is by there mother. The reason for this is because of the simple
misunderstanding that sense G.L. gets more lenience, gets more attention, and is lighter skinned in a
racist world that the mother loves G.L. more in Charles s eyes. Now to The Leap the daughter feels
she is lesser because her mom is the bees knees and she wants to be just like her mother but she feels
like a lesser form of the baby her mother never had. She grows up feeling this way like a lesser
version of some one elites but even with that she grows stronger gradually and the clue that gives this
away is the lamb that grows more definite every year (Erdrich 48)this indicates the daughter growing

A Little Juicy Tidbit Of Information About Ann And John
Just a little juicy tidbit of information about Ann and John: Ann was married to Alvin, they had been
married for thirteen years with two adorable children. Alvin also worked for Raychem. John and Ann
met when John was hired a few years ago and quickly earned a promotion as Ann s boss. Attracted to
each other from the moment they saw each other, their friendship gradually lured into an extra marital
affair. When Ann met Evie at the Laundromat and discovered that she was the same nationality as her
lover, she felt compelled to offer a helping hand. No matter what Ann s motivation was, Evie was

What a difference a lucrative job makes! Once Mom established a budget for a realistic Savings Plan

Death, Be Not Proud, And On The Death Of Richard West
Pop culture icon and music sensation Kanye West once said, Nothing in life is promised, except death.
Death can be interpreted in many different ways; some people fear death, while others view death as
the pathway to eternal life. Death is a guaranteed and an unavoidable part of life, and it can have
varying impacts on people, whether they are positive or negative. Death is an intriguing topic often
found in poetry. John Donne s Holy Sonnets: Death, Be Not Proud, William Shakespeare s Sonnet 73,
and Thomas Gray s On the Death of Richard West discuss the topic of death and impart their own
opinions of death. John Donne s metaphysical poem and sonnet, Holy Sonnets: Death, Be Not Proud,
follows a Petrarchan rhyme scheme as seen in the first eight lines: a/b/b/a/a/b/b/a. Unlike the
quintessential sestet of c/e/f/g/e/f, the sestet of this sonnet has a c/d/d/c/a/a rhyme scheme. The use of
a Petrarchan rhyme scheme is appropriate because the first twelve lines ... Show more content on

Apostrophe is used from the beginning, as the speaker talks to Death as if he a real human and can

Death by giving him attributes, such as mighty and dreadful (2). The speaker uses a metaphor to
compare Death to rest and sleep (5), which provide much pleasure undermining Death and the fear of
it. The speaker contradicts himself in many ways: according to him, Death thinks he can kill people,
but the speaker argues against that saying nor yet canst thou kill me (4), acknowledging his keen sense
of mortality. He further contradicts himself by discussing his eternal life after his short sleep (13).
Microcosm is used as Death represents the bigger picture of eternity in heaven, as the speaker says,
One short sleep past, we wake eternally / And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die

Rule of Law in the Constitution
Introduction A free society is a system of interaction between humans wherein every person can
participate in a civilised manner and without discrimination. In Australia, the Commonwealth of
Australia Constitution Act 1900 (Imp) is the primary source by which society operates as an
essentially free society. This paper seeks to establish that the functioning of such a society is
dependent upon the existence of a legal framework supporting the rule of law, which is ultimately, an
ideology. Analogically, the circumstances in which the application of the rule of law has either created
a free society or undermined it will be explored and its purposes thus inferred to construct a definition
of the rule of law reflecting contemporary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In asserting its judicial independence, the High Court in Plaintiff S157/2002 v Commonwealth stated
it was the ultimate decision maker in all matters where there is a contest. Zywicki suggests that as long
as the court follows precedent and thereby gives individuals more certainty of knowledge over the
rights they possess, social coordination and economic wealth will increase. The courts would not be
relying on its discretion, but rules which will apply equally in the future. Thus, refining Dicey s
definition, Zywicki views rule based decision making as a basic concept of the rule of law. Contrarily,
Sykes suggests discretion may be a matter of necessary efficiency which is more valuable than strictly
adhering to the rule of law. The rule of law, then, does not encapsulate the absolute value of society.
Sykes refers to police discretionary power; however, this concept of balancing the rule of law against
other values may be extended to situations wherein exceptions and defences in law apply to certain
groups. Consider the conferral of legal privilege and the requirement of confidentiality on legal
practitioners in criminal law whereas equality before the law operates in favour of the client, the law
of legal privilege applies only to legal practitioners. As Sykes emphasises, it would be unjust if the law
failed to account for social difference and disadvantage... Zywicki would concur and modifies the

Disadvantages Of Lingua Franca
A Lingua Franca; the Catalyst of International Debates
The term lingua franca is usually associated with languages; more precisely, any language that is
commonly used by people whose native language differentiates. In order to communicate, a common
language arises a lingua franca that is understood by all ethnic groups.
English is unequivocally the most important lingua franca in the world. There are several reasons as to
why it came to dominate world. The Brits; British imperialism was at it highest point during the 17th
and 20th century, spreading its culture like wildfire. The country oozed of power, taking over country

The internet is a wide spectrum of all kinds of languages, but English is the fundamental language
used to communicate across borders. An advantage of having a global language is precisely this;
communication with multitudinous people that you could never communicate with if it wasn t for the
lingua franca.
The internet through a lingua franca uncovered cultures that you may not realise could be unknown if
it wasn t for the lingua franca. American movies, Hollywood, all the different TV series; these gems
could be hidden and unattainable. What about Indian culture, Bollywood or their fantastic food?
Maybe we wouldn t have Indian food in Norway or dance from the Spanish people. Or maybe
scientific research couldn t be traded across borders, resulting in today s technology not being as
advanced and developed as it is.
A global language isn t all sunshine and roses. Increased globalisation could lead to weakening or
eradication of other language. It is estimated that copious minor languages will disappear in the future.
However, it seems that countries with English as a native language is under greater threat of losing
their language or accent to the dominating party: American

Summary Of The Working Poor Invisible In America
The Working Poor Invisible in America by David K. Shipler revolves around the underprivileged men
and women living in America. It is a set of life stories told by the poor individuals mentioned and
interviewed by Shipler throughout the book. They tell their life stories including the environment in
which they grew up, the hardships they have faced since leaving home including the difficulty of
sticking with a job for more than six months, and how they survive making minute annual incomes.
Out of the people featured in the book there were numerous categories for different people and their
ways they became deprived of financial stability; these include individuals whose bad luck developed
when they grew up being physically, emotionally, or sexually ... Show more content on

What I enjoyed when reading the book was that there were multiple different types of people that
Shipler interviewed. For example, they were not all drug addicts; some people mentioned in the book
were victims of abuse, some were cursed since birth growing up in low income families, and some
were discriminated against for their appearances. I think this is important to show when talking about
the poor class because many people stereotype the poor believing that they all did not go to college
and became addicted to drugs. Caroline Payne went to college and got her Associates degree, however
she never landed a job in her field of training...the associate s degree proved useless as a credential
(Shipler, 60). As shown, that stereotype is incorrect. All that is needed to become poor is a case of bad

Analysis Of `` As A Young Man `` Essay
In the introduction to his grandfather s work, Sean Hemingway writes, as a young man, I was
impressed by the repeated emphasis in [The Sun Also Rises] on the need to pay the bill to take care of
one s own affairs and Jake Barnes ability to make his way in the world (xii). It is this emphasis on
paying the bill, on money, that acts as Hemingway s harshest criticism of the lifestyles of American
expatriates in Europe at the time. The extravagance and the excess always comes at a price. This was a
lifestyle that Hemingway himself was familiar with, Paris would prove to be an extraordinary training
ground for [Ernest]. . . the bohemian lifestyle did not always rest well with him. In reading this text,
one cannot, as the novel s characters have done, ignore the importance of paying the bill. Finances and
class are at the center of the character s relationships and dynamics with each other. In chapter 7 of the
novel, a conversation takes place between Brett and two of her suitors, Jake and Count
Mippipopolous. The count, whose steady disposition in this narrative can only be matched by Jake
himself, gives him a piece of advice. Brett says, isn t it wonderful . . . we all have titles. Why haven t
you a title, Jake? and Mippipopolous interjects, I assure you, sir . . . it never does a man any good.
Most of the time it costs you money (47). By refuting the value of a title, Hemingway criticizes the
social structure of the old world, the pre World War I world, and he makes a

Book of Habakkuk The prophet Habakkuk introduced in his Book is not considered a prominent
figure, as he is considered to be one of the twelve Minor Prophets. There is no indication of his
lineage and is just referred to as Habakkuk the prophet in the Biblical text, but due the liturgical nature
of the verses in the book, some scholars have described Habakkuk as a cultic prophet. The apocryphal
and post biblical literatures do not reach a consensus to who he was. Some say that he came from the
tribe of Simeon and others in the tribe of Levi, and information as such is not regarded as true facts,
rather as romanticized add ons of the story, supporting the idea that these were just tacked on as later

There is chaos and violence surrounding him, claiming justice to be perverted, and that essentially,
Yahweh is allowing the wrong to happen. This is not uncommon for prophets to complain to God
about their justified sense of pain. The thing that bothers Habakkuk is whether or not God wants to
save them, or even can in order to show that he is a God true to his values of justice and righteousness.
The main chunk of the prophecy is really delivered in Habakkuk 1:5 11, through the voice of Yahweh.
It is that the Babylonians, a people that God is not commending (Habakkuk 1:6) is going to rise up
and seize the lands, and that they are immensely powerful as well. They mention that they are going to
rule with some resemblance of justice, but it is justice according to their own standards, in response to
Habakkuk s cry of justice. It is not the ideal solution that anyone would look for in this situation.
During the second complaint that Habakkuk brings up, he says that God has made the people like fish,
where there is no ruler, and it would be contradictory to let the wicked whom are designed by Yahweh
for His purpose to take over those who are more righteous. Habakkuk says there is no warrant for
them to continue to seize nations with nothing to rely on besides their own excessive strength and
pride. However, God s response is to write down what he is going to say, in that God calls for patience
and the righteous

Encryption Is The Process Of Encoding Information
Abstract
Introduction to Encryption
Encryption is the process of encoding information in such a way that only the person (or computer)
with the key can decode it. Encryption is a way to enhance the security of a message or file by
scrambling the contents so that it can be read only by someone who has the right encryption key to
unscramble it.
Encryption has widely been used to protect data in numerous areas, such as e commerce, online
banking, cloud storage, online communication and so forth. For example, if you purchase something
from a website, the information for the transaction (such as your address, phone number, and credit
card number) is usually encrypted to help keep it safe. Another example of a cipher (encrypt) can be,
for instance, the replacing of the letters in a message with the ones one forward in the alphabet. So if
your original message read Meet you at the cafe tonight the encrypted message reads as follows: Nffu
zpv bu uif dbgf upojhiu . Types of Encryption
In encryption we have 3 different types
⦁ Hashing
⦁ Symmetric
⦁ Asymmetric
Hashing:
The first encryption method, called hashing, creates a unique, fixed length signature for a message or
data set. Hashes are created with an algorithm, or hash function, and people commonly use them to
compare sets of data. Since a hash is unique to a specific message, even minor changes to that
message result in a dramatically different hash, thereby alerting a user to potential tampering. A key

Proposal for Lenovo in China

global player, is facing intense competition with other renowned brands such as HP, Acer and Dell in
China. In the past fiscal year, its profit growth in China was comparatively lower than its competitors.

As the rural customers have low product knowledge, they not only demand information provided by
sales before purchase but also demand a lot of support after they purchase. For example, they may
encounter difficulties in setting up software. Therefore, Lenovo should establish not only a network of
outlets but also a network of after sales service centers in rural area. It may start offering some
counties a 24 hour hotline as what it is providing to the urban customers. After all, service could be the
critical buying factor when the rural market is already flooded with low cost products. It also helps
build positive word of mouth which is important in rural area as people like to use what their
neighbors are using satisfactorily. Second, Lenovo can send managers or representatives to some of its

are better equipped with the product knowledge, they will provide better customer service and can
definitely provide more information to the customers. They are also more focused to sell Lenovo s

also serve to monitor the selling activities if retailers and at the same time obtain first hand customer
feedback which is important for product innovation to

Candida albicans Essay
Candida albicans
Candida albicans is a dimorphic fungus. This means that that C. albicans has to different phenotypic
forms, an oval shaped yeast form and a branching hyphal form. C. albicans normal habitat is the
mucosal membranes of humans and various other mammals including the mouth, gut, vagina, and
sometimes the skin. Normally C. albicans causes no damage and lives symbiotically with the human
or animal host, even helping to breakdown minute amounts of fiber that are eaten in the host s diet.
The normal bacterial flora of the gut, mouth, and vaginal mucosa act as a barrier to the over growth of
fungal infections like C. albicans. Loss of this normal flora is one of the main predisposing factors to
an infection by C. albicans. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
albicans can gain an advantage over the normal bacterial flora. Two common substances are steroids
and birth control pills. These both act to alter the host s body chemistry in a way that is favorable to
the over growth of C. albicans. If the host is immunocompromised to begin with as in the case of
AIDS patients or organ transplant receivers that are on immunosupresive drugs C. albicans infections
are very prominent. A common symptom among AIDS patients is oral thrush, where there is a huge
over population of C. albicans on the back of the hosts tongue, it appears as white speckles.
When C. albicans becomes pathogenic, or switches it s phenotype to the hyphal form to invade the
host cell epithelium, be it the mouth or the gut or the vagina; these infections are superficial and can
usually be treated with common anti fungal agents like fluconazole, diflucan, azole related anti fungal
drugs, amphotericin B, fungizone ( I think this is the same as amphotericin B). However in severely
immunocompromised individuals like transplant patients or AIDS patients C. albicans can become
systemic. That is the fungus will travel through the blood stream and infect any major organ it can.
When C. albicans has become systemic it is almost always fatal because of the similarity between the
host cells and the fungus, and the lack of a reliable anti fungal drug.
Common symptoms of an oral C. albicans infection include burning pain,

Intro: February is arguably one of the most popular months of the year. It has the fourth most
celebrated holiday, chocolates and candies are on sale, and it honors the central role of those of
African descent in U.S. history. This month is referred to as Black History Month. One moth to
celebrate ALL of black history. To celebrate our African ancestors who were chained and thrown on
ships. To celebrate our people enslaved on the plantations of the south. Our mothers, fathers, and
grandparents who march for us just so we could go to the same schools as white men. And our
unarmed brothers and sisters who are being shot without a cause or a reason any more than because a

However, Woodson never intended the month to be in recognition of black firsts and recognized icons.
The month was intended to be a stepping stone around the hate of the era and eventually have black
history included in the teachings of American history.
Woodson s vision for this observance was to show the African American people the work ethic,
entrepreneurship, and dignity evincive of our ancestors. He also wanted to use it as a way to progress
Caucasians past vicious stereotyping. Ultimately, it was supposed to be about unity and not create a
cultural divide based on ethnocentric pride. The need for Negro History Week in 1926 and Black
History Month in 1976 was self evident. But in 2017, is it potentially harming our causes and
movements? And I am in no way saying that Black pride is harming us. It seems that what used to be a
campaign around hate is inciting hateful backlash. From Beyoncé dressing as a black panther, to a
movement to make Black Lives Matter, to electing our very first black president.
While two of those are monumental, they shouldn t be an excuse for the blatant racism recently
coming into light. A racism that spent a couple decades hiding from the public until protected by the
imaginary shield of the internet and social media. And the worst thing about this racism is that very
rarely is it the racism we have come to know. It s conditional.
It s people saying all black people ever do is whine about how poorly their

Migrant Workers In The 1930s And Today
People work very hard to provide the fresh produce that can be so easily purchased at the grocery
store. This is explained in the articles: The Migrant Experience by Robin A. Fanslow and Young
Migrant Workers Toil in U.S. Fields by Karen Fanning. In the 1930s, migrant workers had to go
through some pretty rough times in order to support themselves. Today, migrant workers work
extremely hard to support their families while, at the same time, sending their kids to school.
However, the world in the 1930s was very different than it is today. This makes for some variation
when it comes to what challenges they have had to face. Regardless of these differences, migrant
workers in the 1930s and today have faced similar and different forms of ... Show more content on

In the 1930s and today, migrant workers struggled and struggle to find financial stability. In the 1930s,
the crash of the stock market which lead to the Great Depression left people with practically nothing.
This caused them to become migrants. They would travel all over California following the work. In
the same way, migrant workers today struggle to find the money that they need while still allowing
their children to get an education, so just like in the 1930s, they travel from state to state looking for
work. Another similarity between the two times is the fact that in both cases there it a glimmer of
hope. In the 1930s, after working so hard for years, the economy improved and the workers were able
to settle down and have a better life. Today, programs like MET help the children of migrant worker
families make it through school. If these kids make it all the way through, they will most likely be able
to end the cycle. In contrast to these similarities, there are also some pretty big differences. In the
1930s, migrant workers didn t have to worry about having to juggle working in the fields with school.
Having an education then wasn t as big of a deal as it is now. Today, if workers don t get an education
they will most likely be working in the fields for rest of their lives. Another difference is that today
people don t have to deal with the Dust Bowl. In the 1930s, people lost their homes after they were
covered up with dirt. Today, some of the only that could potentially destroy a home are fires or floods,
but today we have firefighters and insurance. Migrant workers from these two times share some big
similarities, but also have their

Manderly as an Appropriate Setting for a Gothic Novel
Manderly as an Appropriate Setting for a Gothic Novel A Gothic novel is characterized by picturesque
settings, an atmosphere of mystery and terror, and element of violence and the supernatural.
In Chapter 7, Manderly is being described and introduced.
On page 73, A thing of grace and beauty, exquisite and faultless, lovelier even than I had ever
dreamed, built in its hollow of smooth grassland and mossy lawns , Manderly is said to be very
beautiful, like a postcard image on the surface. There are symmetrical walls and terraces overlooking
lawns that slope to the sea. Also, there are swallows, bluebells, ... Show more content on

On page 3, a lilac had mated with a copper beech…malevolent ivy, always an enemy to grace, had
thrown her tendrils about the pair and made them prisoners
shows the presence of violence. These plants add to the atmosphere of gloominess and death, which
made an appropriate setting for a Gothic novel.
Moreover, Manderly appears differently after the cloud covers the moon.
(p.4) The house was a sepulcher, our fear and suffering lay buried in the ruins.
The house would then become an isolated tomb that will never be inhabited by anyone again. This
hinted a much more significant meaning under its surface beauty, which contributes to the setting of a
Gothic novel.
In addition, the library in Manderly is like a church (p.76) a room for peace, a room for meditation ,
with an ancient mossy smell, scrolled ceiling, dark panelling and heavy curtains, also giving a sense of
sacredness. (p.100) I must have lost my bearings What s more, Manderly is similar to a castle or a
maze, with many rooms and corridors, that the heroine couldn t make her way on the first day of her
arrival to Manderly. There are different verbs describing the movement to places, for example, went
up , went along , turned left , etc.. This gave a sense of mystery.
By this, the above images made Manderly an appropriate setting for a Gothic novel in spite of its
surface beauty.

Essay On Facts About Wonder Woman
10 Art History facts about Wonder Woman:
Art History is such an amazing discipline and knowing that Wonder Woman is attached to it is just
magnificent news. It is not a snobbish discipline, much less a nerdy realm. Art History inspires
creativity and innovation. And we could all notice that with clear facts thanks to Wonder Woman. You
will not believe how many ties are there between the Princess of the Amazons and Art History. This
list will show you ten of the most amazing ones.
1. Wonder Woman is an Art Historian.
Diana Prince (a.k.a. Wonder Woman, only daughter of Queen Hippolyta of Themescyra) is an Art
Historian and so it is shown in the smashing movie with Gal Gadot in the leading role. Since the
beginning of this 2017 film, we see who this superheroine works at one of the top art museums in the

Human Social Animal
1333 words essay on Man is a social animal
Bharat Kumar
Traditionally, there have been two answers to the problem of the relationship between the individual
and his society. One is the social contract theory and the other is the organic theory, which we have
already discussed in detail.
According to the social contract theory, society is the result of an agreement or contract entered into
by men who originally lived in a pre social state. Thus society is made by man and he is more real
than his creation. On the other hand, according to the organic theory, society is an organic. Just as the
parts of an animal body are functionally related and none can exist isolated from the rest, similarly, the
members of society are functionally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one can become a human being unless he lives with society. Apart from fulfilling the basic needs
of a man, the human society satisfies his desires, dreams and aspirations by the solid co operation of
his fellow beings. In society, man can easily fulfill his various needs such as education, protection,
nature, comfort, opportunity, equipment and so on. The self preservation desired by every human
being, is a need which society alone fulfills. Therefore, it is not due to his nature alone but also due to
his necessities, man lives in society and regarded as a social animal.
3. Society determines human personality
Lastly, man lives in society for his mental, psychological and intellectual development. Society both
liberates and limits our potentialities as individual and moulds our attitudes, beliefs, morals and ideals.
It preserves the culture, customs, folkways, mores, norms, values etc. and transmits it to succeeding
generations. One of the important functions of society is to preserve the social heritage, which is
intimately related to human beings. The social heritage helps his personality to develop in society. It is
no doubt that the personality of an individual cannot develop at all in the absence of social heritage.
Thus, society not only moulds and directs human personality but also determines the personality of the
individuals. The personality, which is the total quality of individual s

Review of Maybe Tomorrow
The book Maybe Tomorrow tells the story of Boori Monty Pryor. It describes the career path and life
story of an Aboriginal in Australia. From being a model to eventually becoming a writer or like it is
called in the aboriginal cultural, a storyteller. The book is not a typical biography, because it has been
written as a one way conversation between Boori and the reader. Personally I find this somewhat
confusing; jumping from one topic to the other does not feel comfortable to read. What it definitely
does deliver on is giving a better understanding about the aboriginal culture, the difficulties they face
from white Australians in this country and how every person in this culture needs to adapt to the way
of the white men . There are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What was also very interesting is the shame indigenous people have against their own culture.
Especially the children, which Boori describes he saw when preforming in classrooms all over
Australia. Children that think they are not really an Aboriginal because they do not life in the outback,
do not play the traditional instruments and do not look like the stereotypical aboriginal. Therefore they
are more white which means that they are normal. This is very similar to black people outside
Australia, the mind set exist that looking white and acting white is considered better. This creates a
negative stereotypical version of aboriginals, which goes together with ignorance. For example how
Boori describes the reactions of the children in the classrooms he had visited. One chid expressed that
after the performance of Boori, he was not afraid anymore of aboriginals. Or other child asking him
when he started becoming an aboriginal, I thought this was interesting because it shows how this
child, like some children of aboriginal descent, see only one stereotypical abstract of an indigenous
person. They only have this figure in their mind, which is that aboriginals are not civilised or
educated. A person that is always half naked and plays traditional aboriginal instruments. That is why
some children of aboriginal descent try to remove themselves from everything that is linked to the
Aboriginal culture, because if you do not act like an

Disadvantages Of A Divergent Problem
Divergent Problem Statement
A divergent problem has been proposed by the South African Provincial Administration (SAPA) to my
firm. After an extensive screening of different transport options, SAPA has decided to build a railway,
80 km long between its two major cities with objectives of relieving the traffic on roadways linking
the two cities and stimulating economic development. A choice between the two types of gauges is to
be made. One is the existing Cape gauge 1,067 mm, the other, a Standard Gauge of 1,435 mm. In
order to solve the problem, pros and cons of each type looking mainly at cost, safety, and performance
which measures the comfortability and maintenance of the track will be addressed starting with Cape
gauges and later, Standard gauges.

Having a uniform gauge gives convenience not only to engineers responsible for construction but also
to passengers as there may be no break of gauge needed, where Ilie (2012) demonstrated that a break
of gauge is seen as an obstacle to the smooth flow of traffic which would consequently add delays,
cost, and inconvenience. Assuming the 80 km distance to have mountainous regions, the Cape gauge
could be the optimal choice in this situation. History research shows that narrow gauges were used in
mountainous regions. These gauges are also a substitute to places where standard gauge trains would
need tunnels or bridges (http://www.gaugemaster.com/narrow gauge.html). Difficulty in finding the

The Symbols Of The Jewish Passover
Passover Passover, aka Pesach, is the most spoken about Jewish Holy day. Eighty percent of Jews, to
this day, attend a Seder, according to the 1990 National Jewish Population Survey. Passover is closely
observed by the Jewish people and is one of the most sacred religious holidays because it serves as a
commemoration of the Jews being freed by God from slavery in ancient Egypt and their freedom as a
nation with the help of Moses. One of the most symbolic pieces of Passover is the roasted lamb, which
serves a memorial to the paschal lamb sacrifice made the night when the ancient Hebrews fled Egypt.
In the Bible, texts such as Leviticus, Exodus, Luke, Mathew, Mark, and 1 Corinthians mention
passover and the key elements to it. These sacred texts also show what role Jesus played in the
Passover. The story/history of Passover goes like this; God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning
bush and said I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their
cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; Exodus 3:7 10. Therefore, Moses had the
word of the Lord to free the Jews from slavery and take them to the promise land, Canaan. In doing
so, the Pharaoh disagreed to letting them free so God brought upon 10 plagues to the Pharaoh and his
land. For the first 9 plagues, after each one, Pharaoh promised to obey Moses s command and let the
Jews free. But Pharaoh did not keep his word. The 10th plague is the plague that forces

In the post civil war era until World War One lived many elites who prided themselves on their shoddy

Piaget s Theory, And Developmental Theories Of Early...
There are four types of developmental theories that early childhood educators study: sociocultural,
biological, behaviorist, and cognitive development. Each of the four theories has shaped the way early
childhood education has been designed in recent years. The main reason to study these theories is to
discover how children typically develop and what early childhood educators can do to help facilitate
their growth Teachers who are knowledgeable about child development and learning are able to make
broad predictions about what children of a particular age group typically will be like, what they
typically will and will not be capable of, and what strategies and approaches will most likely promote
their optimal learning and development. (NAEYC, 2009, p.9). A cognitive development approach to
learning states that children are actively involved in the learning process. To them, learning comes
naturally and they don t need much external motivation or a system of punishments and rewards
driving them to master subject areas. One important aspect of Piaget s theory of cognitive
development is how children learn to process the information they receive. Assimilation,
accommodation, and equilibrium are steps in the learning process. A child is introduced to new
information, relates it something familiar, and decides to change their existing viewpoint based on this
new information. A child builds their expertise based on schemas, or prior knowledge, at each stage of
the learning

cooperative cellular networks. LTE Release 8 is one of the primary broadband technologies based on
OFDM, which is mainly deployed in a macro/microcell layout. It provides improved system capacity,
coverage and seamless integration with existing systems. LTE Advanced significantly enhances the
existing LTE Release 8 and supports much higher peak rates, higher throughput, coverage and lower
latencies, which leads to better user experience. Also, LTE Release 10 will support the relay networks.
The LTE Advanced features satisfy the IMT Advanced requirements. The objective of this work is to
improve the cell edge user s throughput or to extend the coverage area by placing relays in a cell edge
area. When the channel condition between the eNB and UE is not good, then the cooperative

King Lear Tragic Hero Essay
A tragic hero is said to be an imperfect character of noble stature, a character with a downfall caused
by an error of judgement which is not deserved, and a self realization from the downfall. King Lear
from the play King Lear fits this description of a tragic hero. King Lear is a tragic play written by
Shakespeare. King Lear is depicted as a tragic hero because of his high status, his downfall which was
caused by himself, and his realization from his downfall. King Lear is portrayed as a tragic hero
partially because of his imperfectness. Throughout the play, King Lear makes many mistakes, which
show his imperfections. His mistakes eventually led to his insanity. He does not even want ot go

was made by choice and not by force. King Lear truly fits this description. King Lear s downfall was
dividing his land (and his crown) to his three daughters out of narcissism. Lear wanted his daughters
to tell him how much they loved him. He did this by choice, not knowing how evil two of his
daughters, Goneril and Regan, really were and how they did not actually love him. His obliviousness
was his flaw and trusted his daughters too much. However, King Lear disowned his youngest

How Heinrich Hertz Changed The World Of Radiology
So Good, It Hertz Heinrich Hertz was a German Physicist who was able to contribute many
discoveries and contributions to the world of Radiology. Hertz was known to have paved the way for
numerous advances in communication technology through the discovery of radio waves and also
confirming the Electromagnetic Theory made by James Clerk Maxwell. Though many people do not
know who Heinrich Hertz was, many know the word hertz (Hz) as a unit of measure of frequency that
was established in Heinrich Hertz honor during 1930. To further expand on the man named Heinrich

It all started when Hertz was teaching and was simply showing his students electrical sparks. He soon
began testing out different sparks and seeing how the electricity jumped from each of the wire
receptors. He soon discovered that the vibration from the wires could radiate electromagnetic waves
that could pass through the air invisible. With these findings, Hertz created an apparatus called an
Oscillator. With using the Oscillator, Hertz was able to use high voltage A.C. electricity to create
sparks that could jump from one wire to the other. Thus, Hertz had not only produced radio waves, but
he was also able to detect them also. Once Hertz discovered radio waves, he was easily able to also
prove Maxwell s theory of electromagnetism over the course of three years by doing simple
experiments. By using his Oscillator apparatus, Hertz was able to prove that the waves that were being
produced were a form of electromagnetism because much like light, they could be reflected, refracted,
and produce standing waves. Hertz also was able to discover the Photoelectric Effect during one of his
experiments. Though he did not proceed with this discovery, it was picked up by Albert Einstein.
Einstein was able to win a Nobel Prize in Physics for the Photoelectric Effect even though technically
Hertz had discovered it years

Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, there is a strong importance of scientific experiments and their advancements.
Jekyll learns through his scientific experiments that man is not just one, but two good and evil. As he
researches more into in the discovery, he is at first hesitant to experiment. However, he ultimately
decides that the experiment itself could provide many positives. I hesitated long before I put this
theory to the test of practice, I knew that I risked death. But the temptation of a discovery so singular
and profound at last overcame the suggestion of alarm (Stevenson, 66 67). Jekyll understood the risks,
but knew that it could lead to a better future. Although there is risk in an organ transplant process, as
there is in any surgery, it is ultimately beneficial to the patient and their health. Jekyll had a strong,
propitious feeling when he reached a point of development in his research and experimentation.
Similarly to the organ transplant process, often organ donors are left with a rewarding feeling. The gift
of an organ can save the life of a transplant candidate. The experience of providing this special gift to

What Is My Inspiration Essay
Inspiration doesn t mean trying to impersonate your idol. It means that they have left an impact on
your life that has moved you so much that you make it your quest to pass on that impact to others, so
that they are inspired to do the same. The cycle will go on forever. I have been inspired by number of
people ranging from members of my family, friends, to great personalities who obviously do not know
of my existence on this planet! Some of them are so influential that their motivation and determination
will enable me to reach greater heights. A few inspire me to do better in anticipation that I will make
them proud. In all this, there has been a special personality who has helped me to perceive the brighter
side of striving to achieve excellence.
Jamsetji Tata, a visionary, a seer, a man of action who single handedly built a flourishing empire till

Leaders must always be humble and be grateful to the ones that have helped them along their way to
success. Great leaders should be more like Jamsetji Tata because then, they too will have a vision that
will benefit not only themselves but also the citizens of this country.
Money is not a matter of heart; it is a matter of the mind. If you have the will power, you can live
without craving for money. This is what I would like the leaders of today to incorporate into their
lives. This is the main reason Jamsetji thrived. He did not care about the size of his wallet at the end of
his day. He only cared about whether or not he did something for the citizens of the nation.
I wouldn t be wrong if I said that without his vision that was the cornerstone of the Tata group,
Munnar would never be what it is

Airline Battle For Competitive Advantage By Giving...
Abstract
Airlines battle for competitive advantage by giving customers unbelievably low fares at an irresistible
price.
Company Background
In 1967, Air Southwest was incorporated by Rolling King and Herb Kelleher. There was only
$500,000 in the bank and their intentions were to only fly in Texas. After battling legal issues, the
Texas Supreme Court ruled in favor of Air Southwest. In 1971, Lamar Muse became president of Air
Southwest and changed the name to Southwest Airlines. It was not until June 1971 that Southwest
began its service between Dallas, Houston and San Antonio with one way tickets costing $20.
Southwest started out with three Boeing 737 200s with Boeing carrying 90% of the financing. The end
of 1973, Southwest had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Today, Southwest Airlines is considered the world s largest low cost carrier. After just over 44 years of
service, Southwest Airlines has 665 Boeing 737s and employ more than 46,000 people. Southwest has
also expanded outside of Texas, now serving 93 destinations. In 2015, Southwest is looking to expand
even further with destinations in Mexico, Costa Rica, and Belize.
In 2014, it had a record $465 million quarterly net income. Most airlines charge the customer for
anything and everything extra. Southwest Airlines still maintains its loyalty to the customer by
offering low fares and free amenities. It is the only major U.S. carrier that does not charge baggage
fees and change fees. Another perk Southwest offers is that there is no assigned seating. Some
passengers may look at this as a negative because they may get stuck in seating that is not ideal for
them. Also, in 2014, Southwest changed its look and now has a heart emblem on the aircraft as a
symbol of its dedication to connect with customers (Southwest, Corporate).
The roots for Delta Airlines were formed by Huff Daland Dusters, which was formed in 1924 as a
crop dusting company, in Macon, Georgia. In 1925, Huff Daland Dusters moved its headquarters to
Monroe, Louisiana. In 1928, the name was changed to Delta Air service in reference to the

The Little Bison River flows from small glaciers in the high cirques of the Rocky Mountains east to
the Great Plains of North America, where it ultimately joins the Missouri system. The valley through
the Rockies contains a few small towns which are supported by the ski industry and tourism. Recently,
extensive natural gas deposits have been discovered in the area, and salvage archaeology projects have
been funded to assess the nature of archaeological resources prior to the construction of pipelines,
access roads, and well heads. You have been asked to summarize the prehistory of the area for a book
on the local history of the resort town of Poplar, soon to celebrate its centennial. ... Show more content

conducted extensive judgemental surveys during initial impact assessment, concentrating on the
grasslands of the Little Bison valley, two arbitrarily chosen tributary valleys (Cripple Creek and Silver
Creek), one cirque (below Smith Peak) and the Inverness Plateau. Four site types were defined. Camp
sites contain a wide range of artifact types and fire broken rock. Kill sites contain a restricted range of
artifacts (mainly projectile points) and large quantities of bone. Lithic scatters are small sites with no
diagnostic artifacts. Quarries have large quantities of debitage, usually associated with shallow pits
dug into bedrock. The distribution of sites and diagnostic artifacts is shown in Figure 8.1. Recently R.

is still being written, she has commented on the previous survey as follows:

Similarities And Differences Between South Africa And Kenya
1. Introduction
I have selected to compare the laws in South Africa and Kenya. My analysis includes an explanation
of the laws in each country highlighting differences and similarities. I have then explored how these
laws relate to the functions of Strategic Human Resource management. I have noted throughout how
the laws in these countries have an impact on all areas of Strategic Human resource functions of
recruiting and interviewing, performance appraisal and job enrichment, compensation and benefits,
employee development, health and safety and strategic management.
I have proceeded to discuss whether in my opinion the laws in each country favour the employee,
employer or government as well as discussing what the impacts are of the laws on organizational

The wage rates are determined by Wage Councils constituted in accordance with Labour Institutions
Act 2007. The wage councils consist of representation from worker, employee and independent
experts. These members of this council are appointed for a period of three years and are entrusted with
investigating pay and working conditions in any sector and to make recommendations to the Minister
on these matters. Wages are determined for agriculture as well as general sector workers by the
Agricultural and General Wage Councils constituted under the Labour Institutions Act. Based on the
findings of the councils appointed, the minister will then set minimum wage rates. Similar to South
Africa, minimum wages vary by occupational sectors, skill levels and geographical areas. The wage
councils will take various factors into account when determining what the minimum wage should be.
These factors are the needs of the workers, general wage levels of the country as well as the ability of

Finally, methods of mitigation will be examined and critically evaluated based on their potential to
halt the effects of carbon dioxide on climate change.
Climate change is a large scale change in the planet s weather systems or its average temperature. The
Earth s climate may change within varying timescales in response to natural factors. On the scale of
tens of thousands of years the climate changes through glacial and interglacial periods; whereas it
changes through the timescale of years occurs due to the effects of El Niño and La Niña which
temporarily change the Earth s temperature and regional scale weather patterns. (Met office, 2015)
Carbon dioxide is a minor component of the Earth s atmosphere accounting for approximately 0.04%.
Despite carbon dioxide s relatively low atmospheric concentration, it s believed that it is the most
important long long lived forcing of climate change in the atmosphere. (Pachauri Reisinger, 2007)
The Carbon Cycle
The measurement of atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been measured
directly since 1957. Prior to 1957, atmospheric concentrations and isotope records consisted of
evidence from ice cores, moss cores, packrat middens, tree rings, and measurements of isotope ratios
in planktonic and benthic foraminifera. Out of the methods discussed, ice cores are by far the best

The Culture of Ancient Egypt
Language and System of writing
The system of writing that the ancient Egyptians used is called Hieroglyphics coming from the two
Greek words hieros meaning holy and glyphe meaning writing. Hieroglyphics are a series of pictures
drawn from one side of the page to the other. Hieroglyphics can be read and written from left to right
or right to left depending upon which way the human and animal characters are facing. If the
characters face the left then you read from the left to the right. Each hieroglyph represents a single
sound, but as the Egyptians wrote sentences and words they took advantage of the vowels so they are
still trying to figure them out today. There are two basic types of hieroglyphs ideograms and
phonograms. Often the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Government in Ancient Egypt was ran on theocracy, which meant that there was a ruler who was
recognized as deity. The pharaoh couldn t run this all by himself so he had a hierarchy of rulers and
leaders below him who ran different parts of the government. This would mean that the pharaoh
would command the hierarchy and they would fulfil their roles and jobs as priest, scribes, vizier etc.
Reliable supply of food and water
The Ancient Egyptians are indebted to the Nile River because it has supplied them with water and
nutrients in the soil for them to grow the crops that they need to survive for many centuries. The
predictability of the Nile s flooding allowed the Egyptians to inquire deep into the agriculture of their
land in order for them to grow all these crops such as the grains, fruits and vegetables that they used to
eat. The Egyptian diet however revolved heavily around several primary crops, especial cereals and
barley. The Egyptians would also grow Einkorn Emmer where grown to make bread. Pulses, beans,
lentils, later chickpeas and fava beans were also grown. Root crop such as radishes, onions, and
garlics were grown along with salad crops like lettuce and parsley. The Egyptians artwork motive was
fruit, suggesting that this was also a major part of agricultural living.
Rules and Laws
The rules and laws of ancient Egyptians have been believed at the time to be based predominantly on
common sense and what

Advantages Of Mass Migration To The British Colonies
Paragraph 1: Thesis There was a multitude of social, political, and economic factors that encouraged
the mass migration of people from the Old World to the 13 British colonies. New democratic features,
education, higher wages, employment opportunities, and religious tolerance were among some of the
promises that lured people to migrate and start a new life in America with more personal choice and
freedom. Paragraph 2: Economy Economic advantages were the main incentive for immigrants to
come to the colonies because they allowed people to have economic independence and stability;
America was a good investment. The economic situation in Great Britain was deteriorating: wages
were low, unemployment rates skyrocketed, and it was practically impossible to move up from your
social class because of the social hierarchy that existed. The poor that faced poverty and
unemployment in Great Britain, sought to find new jobs and homes; the American Dream was born.
The new system of indentured servants found in the colonies allowed for the less fortunate to give up
their freedom for a certain period of time in return for liberty and benefits, such as land, when their
contract expired . Although this system had its flaws, such as maltreatment of servants and forced
indenture, many found themselves able to rebuild their lives completely. For most, freedom meant
being in control and owning land. Opportunities for farming and trading allowed families to make
profit from the raw goods such as

The History Of The Term And Practice
The early history of the term and practice terrorism started in the first century with a group of Jewish
collaborators who, assassinated a Roman rule in the one of the province area. During the French
Revolution s Reign of Terror, Jocobin Club who ruled the state applied violence and mass execution to
compel submission to the state and intimidate regime enemies, this where the term terrorism was first
used by the English to describe the events. The practice and term of terrorism have changed over the
years like 1994 the UN General Assembly, describe term terrorism as criminal acts intended or
calculated to provoke a state of terror in general public . And the Department of Homeland Security s
definition of terrorism is any activity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Terrorists who come from Muslim diasporas can be represented in three categories: converts to Islam,
second generation failed conformity and first generation migrants who no fit into their new society.
Some would believe that counter terrorism and immigration are linked to a point in society. The July
7, 2005 (7/7) London bombers were British born Muslims, focused greater attention on the Islamic
community. It was a series of coordinated terrorist suicide bomb attacks in central London. The effect
of the 7/7 bombing resulted in discriminating tensions and negatively impacted social structure, and
has resulted in an even greater degradation of race and religion relations in Britain than did the 9/11
attacks in the United States . The false information and the legitimizing stereotypes were the media s
doing. The events in the Middle East have provided the driving force for activism and recruitment.
The Dutch government s approach to counterterrorism is a law enforcement issue. And some policies
are aimed at preventing radicalization and other social problems . These approaches are being
conducted on a local level so, that multiple agencies and including Islamic organizations are involved
in the decision making. Some of these traits are related to the Department of Homeland Security
policies. The questions of race, religion, and ethnicity are disconnected the most in the United States
than in any

Crime Scene Reconstruction Essay
Introduction
Crime scene reconstruction is the process of determining or eliminating the events and actions that
occurred at the crime scene through analysis of the crime scene pattern, the location and position of
the physical evidence, and the laboratory examination of the physical evidence.1 Reconstruction not
only involves scientific scene analysis, interpretation of the scene pattern evidence and laboratory
examination of physical evidence, but also involves mathematics which is playing such an
increasingly important role in crime scene investigations. Mathematics can helping forensic scientists

Typical trajectories, corresponding to accident and suicide, are given below. These have been

  • 3. Effects Of Abnormal Profits On The Long Run Essay 2. Abnormal Profits in the Long Run Normal Profit occurs when the average revenue is equal to the average total cost. Abnormal profit is therefore defined as extra profit above normal profit. In the long run, oligopolies make abnormal profits, due to the assumption of high barriers to entry. When firms in an industry seem to be making abnormal profit, it may attract new entrants into the market; causing an increase in supply and therefore a decrease in price leading to normal profits. However since there are high barriers to entry in an oligopolistic market, an influx of new firms into the market is highly unlikely, therefore abnormal profits are sustained in the long run. Diagram 2.0 3. Non Price Competition As previously discussed, price stickiness is one of the implications under the assumptions of the oligopoly model. Since changing price will generally result in the loss of profits and market share; firms compete using non price related strategies. One of these methods includes product improvement. If firms improve the quality of the product or implement characteristics that their targeted demographic enjoy, they can charge more for the product or attract a greater consumer base. Firms operating in an oligopolistic firm also invest largely in marketing of their product. Raising awareness regarding the product will encourage more sales if advertisements appeal to audience. Branding and consumer loyalty is an artificial barrier to entry and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Does Temperature Affect The Rate Of Reaction Experiment From the results that were collect throughout the experimental investigation has proved the hypothesis to only be partially right. Multiple tests were made when conducting the experiment, two clear solutions were combined at various temperatures and concentrations. The hypothesis states that by adjusting the concentration of the reactants will cause the reaction to either speed up at a higher concentration or slow down at a lower concentration. In the reaction temperature should have a similar effect on the experiment, in that increasing the temperature will cause an increase of particle movement and cause more collision, thus increasing the reaction rate. Therefore decreasing the temperature will decrease the rate of the reaction. From the results given in Tables 2 and 3 it shown that every time the concentration is halved the time is increased. When the concentrations of both KIO3 and NaHSO3 are decreased the time has increased, some concentrations having a higher increase than others. In each concentration decrease the time is at least doubled from the previous concentration time, which is therefore increasing the rate of the reaction. Although unlike the change in concentration, when the temperature of the reactants were either increased or decreased their was no significant change. As shown in table 4. When the temperature was either increased or decreased to 10°C, 30°C, 40°C and 50°C the average times are all within one second of each other. Except for when the reactants were cooled to a further 5°C the reaction time was increased by more than double the reaction time. This showing that the results from the investigation did not fully support the stated hypothesis. The standard rate law for the Iodine Clock reaction, is a first order reaction for KIO3 and a second order reaction for NaHSO3. To determine this you must substitute the values into the equations and whichever produces a straight line graph determines whether it is a first or second order reaction. In graph 1. It shows that KIO3 is a second order reaction, this is due to the second order reaction graph being straighter than the first order graph. This meaning the reaction proceeds at a rate proportional to the square of the concentration, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Death can be interpreted in many different ways; some people fear death, while others view death as the pathway to eternal life. Death is a guaranteed and an unavoidable part of life, and it can have varying impacts on people, whether they are positive or negative. Death is an intriguing topic often found in poetry. John Donne s Holy Sonnets: Death, Be Not Proud, William Shakespeare s Sonnet 73, and Thomas Gray s On the Death of Richard West discuss the topic of death and impart their own opinions of death. John Donne s metaphysical poem and sonnet, Holy Sonnets: Death, Be Not Proud, follows a Petrarchan rhyme scheme as seen in the first eight lines: a/b/b/a/a/b/b/a. In Australia, the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 (Imp) is the primary source by which society operates as an essentially free society. This paper seeks to establish that the functioning of such a society is dependent upon the existence of a legal framework supporting the rule of law, which is ultimately, an ideology. The rule of law, then, does not encapsulate the absolute value of society. It is this emphasis on paying the bill, on money, that acts as Hemingway s harshest criticism of the lifestyles of American expatriates in Europe at the time. The extravagance and the excess always comes at a price. This was a lifestyle that Hemingway himself was familiar with, Paris would prove to be an extraordinary training ground for [Ernest]. . . the bohemian lifestyle did not always rest well with him. In reading this text, one cannot, as the novel s characters have done, ignore the importance of paying the bill. Encryption Is The Process Of Encoding Information Abstract Introduction to Encryption Encryption is the process of encoding information in such a way that only the person (or computer) with the key can decode it. Encryption is a way to enhance the security of a message or file by scrambling the contents so that it can be read only by someone who has the right encryption key to unscramble it. Encryption has widely been used to protect data in numerous areas, such as e commerce, online banking, cloud storage, online communication and so forth. For example, if you purchase something from a website, the information for the transaction (such as your address, phone number, and credit card number) is usually encrypted to help keep it safe. Another example of a cipher (encrypt) can be, for instance, the replacing of the letters in a message with the ones one forward in the alphabet. So if your original message read Meet you at the cafe tonight the encrypted message reads as follows: Nffu zpv bu uif dbgf upojhiu . Types of Encryption In encryption we have 3 different types ⦁ Hashing ⦁ Symmetric ⦁ Asymmetric Hashing: The first encryption method, called hashing, creates a unique, fixed length signature for a message or data set. Hashes are created with an algorithm, or hash function, and people commonly use them to compare sets of data. A common symptom among AIDS patients is oral thrush, where there is a huge over population of C. albicans on the back of the hosts tongue, it appears as white speckles. Today, migrant workers work extremely hard to support their families while, at the same time, sending their kids to school. However, the world in the 1930s was very different than it is today. This makes for some variation when it comes to what challenges they have had to face. Regardless of these differences, migrant workers in the 1930s and today have faced similar and different forms of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the 1930s and today, migrant workers struggled and struggle to find financial stability. In the 1930s, the crash of the stock market which lead to the Great Depression left people with practically nothing. This caused them to become migrants. They would travel all over California following the work. In the same way, migrant workers today struggle to find the money that they need while still allowing their children to get an education, so just like in the 1930s, they travel from state to state looking for work. Another similarity between the two times is the fact that in both cases there it a glimmer of hope. In the 1930s, after working so hard for years, the economy improved and the workers were able to settle down and have a better life. Today, programs like MET help the children of migrant worker families make it through school. If these kids make it all the way through, they will most likely be able to end the cycle. In contrast to these similarities, there are also some pretty big differences. In the 1930s, migrant workers didn t have to worry about having to juggle working in the fields with school. Having an education then wasn t as big of a deal as it is now. Today, if workers don t get an education they will most likely be working in the fields for rest of their lives. Another difference is that today people don t have to deal with the Dust Bowl. In the 1930s, people lost their homes after they were covered up with dirt. Today, some of the only that could potentially destroy a home are fires or floods, but today we have firefighters and insurance. (p.4) The house was a sepulcher, our fear and suffering lay buried in the ruins. The house would then become an isolated tomb that will never be inhabited by anyone again. This hinted a much more significant meaning under its surface beauty, which contributes to the setting of a Gothic novel. Human Social Animal 1333 words essay on Man is a social animal Bharat Kumar Traditionally, there have been two answers to the problem of the relationship between the individual and his society. One is the social contract theory and the other is the organic theory, which we have already discussed in detail. According to the social contract theory, society is the result of an agreement or contract entered into by men who originally lived in a pre social state. Thus society is made by man and he is more real than his creation. On the other hand, according to the organic theory, society is an organic. From being a model to eventually becoming a writer or like it is called in the aboriginal cultural, a storyteller. Personally I find this somewhat confusing; jumping from one topic to the other does not feel comfortable to read. Therefore they are more white which means that they are normal. This is very similar to black people outside Australia, the mind set exist that looking white and acting white is considered better. This creates a negative stereotypical version of aboriginals, which goes together with ignorance. For example how Boori describes the reactions of the children in the classrooms he had visited. One chid expressed that after the performance of Boori, he was not afraid anymore of aboriginals. Or other child asking him when he started becoming an aboriginal, I thought this was interesting because it shows how this child, like some children of aboriginal descent, see only one stereotypical abstract of an indigenous person. They only have this figure in their mind, which is that aboriginals are not civilised or educated. A person that is always half naked and plays traditional aboriginal instruments. Eighty percent of Jews, to this day, attend a Seder, according to the 1990 National Jewish Population Survey. Passover is closely observed by the Jewish people and is one of the most sacred religious holidays because it serves as a commemoration of the Jews being freed by God from slavery in ancient Egypt and their freedom as a nation with the help of Moses. One of the most symbolic pieces of Passover is the roasted lamb, which serves a memorial to the paschal lamb sacrifice made the night when the ancient Hebrews fled Egypt. In the Bible, texts such as Leviticus, Exodus, Luke, Mathew, Mark, and 1 Corinthians mention passover and the key elements to it. These sacred texts also show what role Jesus played in the Passover. The story/history of Passover goes like this; God appeared to Moses in the form of a burning bush and said I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; Exodus 3:7 10. There are four types of developmental theories that early childhood educators study: sociocultural, biological, behaviorist, and cognitive development. Each of the four theories has shaped the way early childhood education has been designed in recent years. The main reason to study these theories is to discover how children typically develop and what early childhood educators can do to help facilitate their growth Teachers who are knowledgeable about child development and learning are able to make broad predictions about what children of a particular age group typically will be like, what they typically will and will not be capable of, and what strategies and approaches will most likely promote their optimal learning and development. (NAEYC, 2009, p.9). A cognitive development approach to learning states that children are actively involved in the learning process. To them, learning comes naturally and they don t need much external motivation or a system of punishments and rewards driving them to master subject areas. One important aspect of Piaget s theory of cognitive development is how children learn to process the information they receive. Assimilation, accommodation, and equilibrium are steps in the learning process. With these findings, Hertz created an apparatus called an Oscillator. With using the Oscillator, Hertz was able to use high voltage A.C. electricity to create sparks that could jump from one wire to the other. Thus, Hertz had not only produced radio waves, but he was also able to detect them also. Once Hertz discovered radio waves, he was easily able to also prove Maxwell s theory of electromagnetism over the course of three years by doing simple experiments. It is the only major U.S. carrier that does not charge baggage fees and change fees. Another perk Southwest offers is that there is no assigned seating. Some passengers may look at this as a negative because they may get stuck in seating that is not ideal for them. Also, in 2014, Southwest changed its look and now has a heart emblem on the aircraft as a symbol of its dedication to connect with customers (Southwest, Corporate). The roots for Delta Airlines were formed by Huff Daland Dusters, which was formed in 1924 as a crop dusting company, in Macon, Georgia. In 1925, Huff Daland Dusters moved its headquarters to Monroe, Louisiana. In 1928, the name was changed to Delta Air service in reference to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The valley through the Rockies contains a few small towns which are supported by the ski industry and tourism. Recently, extensive natural gas deposits have been discovered in the area, and salvage archaeology projects have been funded to assess the nature of archaeological resources prior to the construction of pipelines, access roads, and well heads. You have been asked to summarize the prehistory of the area for a book on the local history of the resort town of Poplar, soon to celebrate its centennial. ... Two surveys have been conducted in the area. Horned Toad Consultants conducted extensive judgemental surveys during initial impact assessment, concentrating on the grasslands of the Little Bison valley, two arbitrarily chosen tributary valleys (Cripple Creek and Silver Creek), one cirque (below Smith Peak) and the Inverness Plateau. Four site types were defined. Camp sites contain a wide range of artifact types and fire broken rock. Kill sites contain a restricted range of artifacts (mainly projectile points) and large quantities of bone. Lithic scatters are small sites with no diagnostic artifacts. Quarries have large quantities of debitage, usually associated with shallow pits dug into bedrock. The distribution of sites and diagnostic artifacts is shown in Figure 8.1. Recently R. Bootheel undertook a survey of the area using random sampling techniques. Although her M.A. thesis is still being written, she has commented on the previous survey as follows: ARCHAEOWGICAL DATA Survey ! ~ i I. ;.

  • 45. Similarities And Differences Between South Africa And Kenya 1. Introduction I have selected to compare the laws in South Africa and Kenya. My analysis includes an explanation of the laws in each country highlighting differences and similarities. I have then explored how these laws relate to the functions of Strategic Human Resource management. I have noted throughout how the laws in these countries have an impact on all areas of Strategic Human resource functions of recruiting and interviewing, performance appraisal and job enrichment, compensation and benefits, employee development, health and safety and strategic management. I have proceeded to discuss whether in my opinion the laws in each country favour the employee, employer or government as well as discussing what the impacts are of the laws on organizational ability to employ Human Resource Management principles in the ... The wage councils consist of representation from worker, employee and independent experts. These members of this council are appointed for a period of three years and are entrusted with investigating pay and working conditions in any sector and to make recommendations to the Minister on these matters. Wages are determined for agriculture as well as general sector workers by the Agricultural and General Wage Councils constituted under the Labour Institutions Act. Based on the findings of the councils appointed, the minister will then set minimum wage rates. Similar to South Africa, minimum wages vary by occupational sectors, skill levels and geographical areas. The wage councils will take various factors into account when determining what the minimum wage should be. These factors are the needs of the workers, general wage levels of the country as well as the ability of businesses to carry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Finally, methods of mitigation will be examined and critically evaluated based on their potential to halt the effects of carbon dioxide on climate change. Climate change is a large scale change in the planet s weather systems or its average temperature. The Earth s climate may change within varying timescales in response to natural factors. On the scale of tens of thousands of years the climate changes through glacial and interglacial periods; whereas it changes through the timescale of years occurs due to the effects of El Niño and La Niña which temporarily change the Earth s temperature and regional scale weather patterns. (Met office, 2015) Carbon dioxide is a minor component of the Earth s atmosphere accounting for approximately 0.04%. Despite carbon dioxide s relatively low atmospheric concentration, it s believed that it is the most important long long lived forcing of climate change in the atmosphere. (Pachauri Reisinger, 2007) The Carbon Cycle The measurement of atmospheric levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has been measured directly since 1957. Prior to 1957, atmospheric concentrations and isotope records consisted of evidence from ice cores, moss cores, packrat middens, tree rings, and measurements of isotope ratios in planktonic and benthic foraminifera. Out of the methods discussed, ice cores are by far the best method for obtaining past ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Culture of Ancient Egypt Language and System of writing The system of writing that the ancient Egyptians used is called Hieroglyphics coming from the two Greek words hieros meaning holy and glyphe meaning writing. Hieroglyphics can be read and written from left to right or right to left depending upon which way the human and animal characters are facing. If the characters face the left then you read from the left to the right. • 48. Advantages Of Mass Migration To The British Colonies Paragraph 1: Thesis There was a multitude of social, political, and economic factors that encouraged the mass migration of people from the Old World to the 13 British colonies. New democratic features, education, higher wages, employment opportunities, and religious tolerance were among some of the promises that lured people to migrate and start a new life in America with more personal choice and freedom. Paragraph 2: Economy Economic advantages were the main incentive for immigrants to come to the colonies because they allowed people to have economic independence and stability; America was a good investment. The economic situation in Great Britain was deteriorating: wages were low, unemployment rates skyrocketed, and it was practically impossible to move up from your social class because of the social hierarchy that existed. The poor that faced poverty and unemployment in Great Britain, sought to find new jobs and homes; the American Dream was born. The new system of indentured servants found in the colonies allowed for the less fortunate to give up their freedom for a certain period of time in return for liberty and benefits, such as land, when their contract expired . Although this system had its flaws, such as maltreatment of servants and forced indenture, many found themselves able to rebuild their lives completely. For most, freedom meant being in control and owning land. Opportunities for farming and trading allowed families to make profit from the raw goods such as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The effect of the 7/7 bombing resulted in discriminating tensions and negatively impacted social structure, and has resulted in an even greater degradation of race and religion relations in Britain than did the 9/11 attacks in the United States .
