Code-switching occurs when two or more languages are used in the same conversation. In Tamil Nadu, people often code-switch between Tamil and English, which is known as "Tanglish." There are several reasons for code-switching, including to express emotion, change topics, or exert control in conversations. There are different types of code-switching, such as tag-switching at the end of a sentence, intra-word switching within a word, intra-sentential switching within a clause or sentence, and inter-sentential switching between clauses or sentences.
