Meeting Luisa At The Bank
Although we were not meeting Luisa at the bank until 11:00 o clock, we arrived in Marsciano early
the next morning to wander around town. From a nearly home owner s perspective, we looked at
everything anew. Marsciano was going to be our home town in Italy, where we would shop, attend
community events, the weekly market, dine in restaurants and make new friends. As we did with
Johannes, we parked the car near the community elevator and took the lift up to the center of town.
We nodded our heads to the locals and bid them Bouna giornata; a Good Day when our eyes met in
passing. We window shopped at the boutiques on the Corso Umberto, surprised by the high quality
merchandise for sale in such a humble village. Soon, we saw Luisa ... Show more content on

How could this possibly be real? Our lunch was even more delicious than the first time and our
conversation was also more spirited. We vowed to take Italian lessons as soon as we returned to
California. Vince was bound and determined to attend the Deed Signing ceremony in Perugia in May
which meant that he would sign on my behalf so that I could accumulate my vacation time off from
work for the actual Moving In and Setting Up House in the Fall. I asked Vince to paint each room
before and acquire a bed, a table and some chairs during his visit in May so that when I arrived in
September we had a place to sleep and the apartment was spic and span clean. It was already dark and
raining gently when we arrived at the front door of B B Garibaldi in the early evening. Vince inserted
the key into the front door lock, when much to his surprise, he felt the key snap in two as he turned it
to unlock the door, leaving the stem in the keyhole. Oh great! Now what do we do? Vince said as he
pulled the remaining part of the key out of the lock and looked at it bewildered in his hand. I don t
know I answered. David emphatically asked us not to ring the doorbell because his grandmother is

Reflective essays
The classic tragedy, as defined by Aristotle, has six major parts. These parts include a plot, characters,
theme, melody, spectacle, and language. All stories, according to Aristotle must have a beginning,
middle, and end, and must follow a logical sequence according to these six elements.
The plot is the series of events, or sequence in which the action of the play occurs. Plot must follow a
cause and effect relationship, which follows a logical pattern. Characters are the people in the play,
who have certain qualities that can be determined by what they say, do and what others say about
them. The theme of the play is the general feeling or statement made by the author that presents an

An enlightenment for the hero must follow at the end of the story to give us an idea that some greater
good was accomplished or that some important lesson was learned.
Oedipus demonstrates these four attributes of a tragic hero very clearly. He was a great person in that
he was a prince in both Corinth and Thebes, as well as the king of Thebes. He demonstrated high
moral standards through his selfless love of Thebes, and his relentless search for the truth, as well as
his sense of responsibility for his actions. Oedipus character flaw was said to be his hubris or
excessive pride, his not knowing when to quit and his thinking he could circumvent his fate. We also
discussed in class, that perhaps he should have been more careful about who he murdered, having a
fate as he did. His downfall was obviously having to live with the knowledge of what he did, being
banished and blinded by his own hand. In his own words, I am misery! Oedipus realizes at the end that
he is not as great as he once thought he was and that he cannot circumvent the will of the gods. The
theme of darkness and light is used throughout the play as a symbol or knowledge or enlightenment.
When Oedipus is blinded at the end he is then able to see the truth.

The Importance Of Memory And Short-Term Memory
Roger goes to his friend s wedding where he is introduced to over 50 people. Roger s goal at this
wedding is to meet new people, and remember as many names as he can. In order for him to get their
names into long term memory, he first needs to get them past sensory, and short term memory. For
him to be able to do this, he needs to come up with some strategies to remember these names. He will
learn when it is necessary for him to rehearse the names over in his head, group some of them
together, or making connections to the names. By testing out these strategies, we will learn how
information moves from sensory memory to short term memory, and hopefully to long term memory.
All information makes it to our sensory memory, but it only lasts less than one second. When Roger
got to the wedding, there was probably tons of people in all different outfits, but he will probably
never remember any of it. If he were to meet a woman who he thinks is attractive, her outfit could
enter his short term memory so he can spot her out later during the party. If we pay attention to the
information in our sensory memory, in information is sent on to the second stage, short term memory
(Doyle Portillo Pastorino 271). The memory will last only about 20 30 seconds when it reaches the
short term memory. Because the short term memory can hold about seven plus or minus two items,
Roger could have payed close attention to the color of her eyes and hair too. Maybe when he leaves

Relationship Between Hindu Gods And Goddesses
Hindu Gods and Goddesses
Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world. It has a complicated system of many gods. These
gods can take many forms including animals and people. Hinduism, being a debatable polytheistic
religion, has many gods who create legends that can help explain relationships between god and
people while elaborating on hindu beliefs.
Hinduism is commonly viewed as a polytheistic religion. It s many gods make up a variety of
interesting stories and myths. However, many of these gods are simply reincarnations of other gods. A
god may reincarnate to perform a certain task. They can reincarnate in human and animal and other

Shiva is considered the destroyer of god or the god of that is intended to end of the universe. This may
have a negative connotation however, in Hinduism the universe is thought to regenerate in cycles
every 2,160,000,000 years, Shiva destroys the universe at the end of each cycle which allows for a
new creation (Mark Cartwright). Shiva is not destroying the universe but really opening up the
opportunity for new creation. The story of how Shiva and Parvati end up getting married provides
insight into the relationships between gods and other gods. When Parvati s mother did not approve of
Parvati marriage to Shiva. To show this disapproval she held a sacrifice and invite all gods, except for
Shiva. To retaliate Shiva created two demons to kill Parvati s mother. In the end the other gods were
able to rationalize with Shiva, allowing him to bring back Parvati s mother from the dead. In their next
incarnation Shiva and Parvati got married (Mark Cartwright). This story shows how god can make
flaws and how they can act irrationally. However it also shows how gods can come together and
reason with those who are out of control. Shiva shows us a more emotional side of god s bettering our

Essay on We Cannot Permit Infringements on Privacy
George Orwell foresees a nightmarish future for the world in his book 1984, where individualism
loses precedence to the good of society, and with it goes the individual s private life. The [controlling]
Party in the socialist government knows the intimate details of all citizens, and prosecutes those who
violate social orders through threatening speech, behavior or thoughts. The omnipresent visual
warning Big Brother is Watching You, reminds citizens that no personal information is safe from the

The issue of personal privacy should alarm Americans to focus on established privacy in America,
infringements on privacy and efforts aiming at protecting personal information in lieu of a right to
privacy.
Privacy has been legally established in the United States over the course of its history mostly through
Congressional Acts and Supreme Court decisions: specific privacy rights are not stated in the
Constitution, and several amendments have been interpreted as giving privacy rights. In 1974
Congress passed into law the Privacy Act, which protects records that can be retrieved by personal
identifiers such as a name, social security number, or other identifying number or symbol, and also
grants access to personal information for the purpose of correcting any inaccuracies. While the act
prevents the disclosure of personal information, this stipulation has twelve exceptions; furthermore,
only Federal databases are subject to the Privacy Act. Considering the liberties given to citizens by the
Act and its two significant shortcomings, it hardly established the protection of Privacy in America.
Credit reports, bank accounts and medical history are some examples of personal information not
covered by the Privacy Act, in addition to any data local or state governments and businesses collect.

Why Total Reward Is Important
Why a Total Reward Program is Important
As the labor force becomes more highly developed and demanding, rivalry between organizations for
talented employees is drastically increasing. It is extremely important that organizations make their
company more enticing as an incomparable career opportunity. Instituting a total rewards system into
an organization can do much to help it invite the paramount talent available and significantly condense
turnover. The longevity of an organization s employees is contributed to its total reward system.
According to Heneman (2007), total rewards is defined as all of the tools, whether intrinsic or
extrinsic, offered to the employer that may be employed to attract, motivate and retain employees.
This could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the Baby Boomers about to retire, the employment philosophy for Gen X and Gen Y is changing
as well. It is now fairly common for today s labor force to change jobs every couple of years, rather
than maintain longevity with one company. Turnover costs for many corporations are costly and can
drastically affect the financial functioning of an organization. An organization that is successful in
reducing their labor costs will be able to enjoy a better profit margin. Strategic planning must be
implemented to assess the cost of turnover, build retention strategies, and strategize for anticipated and
unforeseen turnover and a shifting labor force culture. Organizations are aware of the tight labor
market and are heightening their visibility to the situation. Rewards effectively designed by an
organization allow their business to entice and magnetize top talent from a shrinking labor pool. By
offering what employees value, usual companies can reduce the migration of employees to other
organizations by employing what their employees say they value most (WorldatWork, 2007, p. 17).
Martin (2006) maintains that:
A direct link exists between employee motivation and product/service quality. When employees are
aware of the company s goals and objectives, and know the significant role they play, they will
provide higher quality products and services. Implementing a model to reward employees for meeting
company goals is one

The Success And Failure Of The New France Trade
It s not what you know, but who you know. The phrase has been amongst the business community for
years. Certainly long enough for many to question the requirement of any business practicality to
achieve success. Models of mediocrity failing up the corporate ranks because of their personal
connections can be found in almost any professional environment. So much so it begs the question of
how far back the practice exists. J.F. Bosher s conclusions on the reasoning of the success and failure
in the New France trade during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries are inconclusive at best. Yet,
the professor of history at the University of Toronto to his best summation is that the right religious
association or social stature could have undoubtedly influenced prosperity. However, in Bosher s study
of fifty eight bankruptcy cases between 1660 1760, he is quick to argue that there is no definitive
evidence that point to one direct cause for financial ruin. Rather multiple conditions including chance
that contributed to the fates of trade families. These complexities included war, the government,
volatile economic trends, and religious/social structure (Bosher 458). Ultimately, many merchants
turned to partnership through marriage or religion as means of establishing a trade network in an
attempt to minimize those risks. Dr. Catherine Briggs of the University of Waterloo would agree, and
point out that the fur trade was not a profitable one for many, nor was it a

Conformity And Individuality In The Lost Thing
The Lost Thing by Shaun Tan is an animated film adaptation, which explores our universal want to
conform and our societal tendencies to exclude any differences. The picture film narrates the story of
the lost thing, which is disorientated in a world of conformity and a world with no care to notice such
diversity. The boy, a tireless collector of bottle tops, discovers the lost thing and befriends it, taking
the responsibility to find its place of belonging in the dystopian city.
Shaun Tan portrays the creature s tendency to stand out in the compliant society which allows the
audience to compare between conformity and individuality. At the beginning of the book, it shows that
only the unnamed protagonist seems to notice the lost thing while the others around him are portrayed
to be absorbed in what they are doing that they never stop to look what is in front of them. The
panning shot of the boy amongst those who were self absorbed and preoccupied with their ritual habits

Our airports are the largest point of entry along with travel in general. This is a main reason why all
the technology and systems are put into the airports to keep high security. New technology is growing
every minutes of every day. There is always someone working on a better way or a faster way. Facial
recognition is essential as persons cannot accurately contain the same facial features this technology
will assist identify. This leads to capturing of the criminals and lessens the chances of convicting the
wrong person in someone else s criminal act.
Positive and Negative Effects to Technology There are a lot of non technical reasons to cautiously
look at how these older and more recent technologies are used inside our criminal justice system. Most
of the newest technical and science based technology include some of the similar effects which may
possibly down rank our own human rights and defense levels. * Our government could gain the

and logic put to the research and development of a new product. James Dyson said about innovation,
It s the unlikely juxtaposition of creativity and logic which causes the wooliness and confusion around
the term innovation . (James Dyson, Ingenia, Issue 24, 2005, page 32)

Eyewitness Testimony Experiment
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effect of leading questions on eyewitness testimony
when asked to estimate the speed that a car is travelling in an accident. Participants were asked two
questions in total. The first question was regarding the speed of the car with contrasting verbs
(crashed/collided), the second question asked was whether there was any glass at the scene of the
accident.
The hypothesis predicted that changing the language used in eyewitness testimony will affect memory.
The DV was the participants estimated speed of the vehicles, and the IV was the noun that was
changed in the leading question (crashed/collided). The independent measures design was chosen, and
an opportunity sample of 13 participants (N=13) were used. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Once the video had finished, participants were asked two questions. Participants in condition one were
asked how fast they thought the cars were going when they crashed, and condition two were asked
how fast they thought the cars were going when they collided. Both conditions were then asked if
there was any glass at the scene of the accident. When the experiment was finished, participants were
debriefed and reminded that they had the right to withdraw their answers if they wished to do so.
Throughout this IA, there will be a lot of mention of eyewitness testimony, memory and leading
questions. Eyewitness testimony can be defined as an account given by people of an event they have
witnessed [1] . Memory is the mental faculty that enables one to retain and recall previously
experienced sensations, impressions, information, and ideas [2] , and leading questions are questions
which are asked in such a way to suggest the answer, or one that contains the information that the

Public Relations As A Regular Tradition
Due to the early accounts of public relations utilising manipulative practices as a regular tradition,
these tactics have thus overshadowed and continued to be the predominant view of public relations
within modern contexts. This essay will argue that public relations has evolved considerably beyond
the age of press agentry, yet will still acknowledge the existence of some present day uses of these
schemes. Firstly, this essay will explore the history of public relations to establish and enforce the
need for change within the profession. Secondly, this essay will discuss the various new practices and
procedures of public relations implied into modern society and how this aligns with the continuing
ethical development of this profession. Lastly, the essay will analyse the use of methods associated
with the press agentry period in recent years.
Public relations is historically categorised in three stages known as manipulation, information and
mutual benefit, with each consisting of a different core set of values, methods and desired outcomes.
The manipulation period was known for its continuous abuse of press agentry and publicity stunts to
further its manipulative attempt to gain the attention of the public through the media . To summarise
the manipulation era was infatuated with profit gain and often acted without a moral compass by
fabricating elaborate stories to entice the interest of the public, thus furthering their financial success.

The Short Story Of Bravery In Unbroken
This summer I was at the Ottawa County fair doing the off road Derby. I wasn t sure about doing it at
first, but my mom and dad said I would be fine.I got to choose what number I was and I got to choose
what color it was too. In the end my mom and dad were right, it was fun and I got 3rd place for my
first time. By doing the derby for the first time I showed Bravery. Bravery has risks and to other
people they could be good risks and bad risks. The character s Louie from the book Unbroken and the
sniper from the short story The Sniper shows Bravery through the joining the war while trying to

Powers of a Monopolistic Anarchy
While the Microsoft Empire maintains its status as a vast company of large scale production, readily
contributing to the national GDP, and yielding high interest and profits to its associates, criticism and
controversial accusations keep mounting. The thought of a monopoly as the economic device for good
business seems almost mind boggling to Microsoft s competing corporations, as well as the entire
economic community, legal and commercial.
Why is monopoly such an undesirable practice? Why does the Microsoft Monopoly, in particular,
violate the antitrust laws, and how far ought the government go in its efforts to regulate and fight such
monopoly. What are the economic crimes that Microsoft is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In addition, it is very rare to have a truly pure monopoly. A natural monopoly, on the other hand,
implies that advantages of large scale production make it possible for a single firm to produce the
entire output of the market at lower average cost than a number of firms, each producing a smaller
quantity (What is a Monopoly).
When considering the two theories and their relationship to the software industry, it seems almost
inconceivable that there might be only one supplier of any product, because there are so many
software companies. However, if the market is considered for a particular software product, such as an
operating system, the idea seems much more plausible. Furthermore, there are several factors in the
software industry, and the operating system segment in particular, that lead to consolidation
(Monopolies and the Software Industry).
Barriers to Entry The barriers to entry for software companies are generally quite low. There is no
manufacturing equipment needed, and therefore low capital investment is required. Nonetheless,
development of an operating system is not such an effortless undertaking. It requires hundreds of
people, years to complete, and its costs exceed hundreds of millions of dollars (Barriers to Entry).
Furthermore, the company must be innovative in both design and selling techniques

Branagh Hamlet Comparison
In the Kenneth Branagh film, the interpretation it conveyed was most appropriate to how Shakespeare
wrote in the book. Hamlet s anger and rage was best shown through this version. The setting is in a
Victorian age theatre where the performance of the play was appropriate to the time in which
Shakespeare wrote. This version was the version which was not shortened. It was most similar to
Hamlet in Shakespeare; it was connected best with the original work of Shakespeare. It was the most
effective in conveying the work of the original play by showing best Hamlet s behavior, emotions and

Both Claudius and Gertrude showed a shocking reaction , they looked uncomfortable after they start
understanding what was going on in the play. The audience was confused and started whispering to
each other. Claudius looked nervous and started looking around and keeps looking at Polonius almost
as if he was blaming him for what Hamlet was doing. Cladius received flashbacks while watching the
play and starts picturing what he did to the King at the same time it was being shown in the play.
Claudius looked angry and with shame, he stands up and leaves the theatre quickly after seeing how
Hamlet had portrayed him in the play. Claudius reaction looked with fear, he reacted by standing up
and demandimg that he gets air and leaves the room. Cladius looked as if he wanted to be away from
the audience to release how he felt. As Claudius exits the theatre , so does the audience in a chaotic

intentions and what he was trying to imply with his play. I preferred this version because it protays the

New Testament Reflection Paper
Transitioning to the New Testament which contains parables showing human attitudes were created in
the course of several decades, therefore it is much more coherent than the Old Testament, which was
created in the course of a dozen or hundreds of years. Jesus Christ taught parables. This made it easier
for people to understand what Jesus was teaching them. The parables were literal, applicable, and easy
to comprehend. It was a convenient way of transmitting information. An important parable that Jesus
told was the parable of the merciful Samaritan. A man was attacked by a couple robbers while
traveling. They beat him severely, however, no one came up to help him despite the fact that he was
being passed by many people including a priest and a Levite. Shortly, the only person that took the
man and helped him was a Samaritan. He was the one that showed mercy and helped the man in need.
God was pleased with the Good Samaritan. Within the New Testament, we also experience the love of
God that embraces all the people who believe in it, regardless of their suffering, nationality and
previous beliefs. By reading the whole Bible we can find patterns to follow and live by so that our
lives become better. By reading the parables and letters, we learn to look differently and we can even
gain a new perspective from the outside. The New Testament consists of four Gospels (Matthew,
Mark, Luke, and John). These Gospels contain narratives of life, the teachings, as well as the

Emile Durkheim Suicide
In his research paper Suicide: a study of sociology , Emile Durkheim primarily argues that suicide is
not necessarily an act of individualisation but rather it s an act that is influenced by one s position in
his or her society. Each society, according to Durkheim, has its definite quota of suicide. Durkheim
provides understanding of the societal conditions that contribute to increased rates of suicide within
various types of cultural and religious groups. One condition which contributes to the increased
suicide rates in the society is integration, which is the sense that an individual is part of a society.
According to Durkheim, individuals who are either extremely under integrated into society or over
integrated into society are the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The believe of suicide bombers that their contribution to their group by killing others or taking their
own lives will bring change into the society could be viewed as an egoistic act. However, their acts of
committing those actions as a part of a group is an act of altruism. Since an individual s tie with his or
her society is broken, he or she starts to believe that they are free from social expectations and they are
free to act against the society in order to reform it. Egoistic beliefs made the suicide bombers feel as
they are isolated from their own society and they don t hesitate to take a action for themselves.
Therefore, deciding to become a suicide bomber is part of egoistic belief where committing the attack
to please a group deals with the altruistic aspect of suicide bombing. Accordingly, the idea of suicide
bombing can be categorized as both egoistic and altruistic suicide. There were many times when the
egoistic and altruistic aspect of suicide overlapped ideas of one another. Therefore, it s time to re
explore Durkheim s idea of egoistic and altruistic suicide in order to explore more of their similarities.
Suicide bombing is an example of how these two form of suicides shares many common concepts.
Consequently, suicide bombing suggests us to re evaluate Durkheim s concept of egoistic and

God Is A Contractual Relationship Between God And God
A covenant is a contractual relationship between two parties, usually a king and his followers. The
covenant relationship between God and the people of Israel is strong. God makes covenants with
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For these covenants to be strong there needs to be loyalty and faithfulness
on both sides. The Mishnah emphasizes this relationship in many of the texts, this relationship is most
emphasized in the sections of prayer and festivals. The section of prayers is called zera im or seeds, it
literally means the availability of agricultural products in Israel. This connects to prayer because in
order for the land to be rich of agricultural products by God, the people of Israel need to pray and
show gratitude to God. In the chapter the Life of the Torah , there is a section about the daily life of
the Jew and much of the day consists of prayer. There are very specific times for prayer and recitation
of the Shema and Tefillah. The Mishnah requires Jews pray before and after meals. The sages have
many rules for blessing over food, there are different prayers for different types of food. They sages
also require that the Jews say grace after meals, this prayer requires more components than prayers
before meals. They thank him for the land, ask him to rebuild the temple, sustain his people, bless the
host and hostess, and send peace to all of Israel. In the first section in Grace After Meals: Thanking
God the Provider , the leader says For he is God who sustains all, doest good to all, and provides food
for all creatures he has created. Blessed art thou, O Lord, who dost sustain all (696). These prayers are
important to Jews because this shows that they are faithful to God and appreciate his work for them.
The covenant here is if they stay faithful and gratuitous to God then God will rebuild Jerusalem, create
peace for all of Israel and provide them with land and agriculture. Overall, the Rabbi s do not disagree
on this topic. They all believe as long as they recite the benedictions at the right times and for the right
things, then the covenant between God and the people of Israel will remain strong. Also, the section in
Mishnah about the different festivals and celebrations highlight the covenant

Model Minority Research Paper

Topic: Are Vietnamese Americans the model minority?
In reality, Asian Americans are popularly seen as the model minority. However, the question whether
Vietnamese Americans are really the model minority is still a long standing controversy.
Model minority refers to a minority group that reaches higher educational, professional, and
socioeconomic levels without protest against the majority establishment (Model minority definition:
Free Sociology Dictionary: Model minority defined, (n.d.)). In 1966, the term was coined by
sociologist William Petersen in his article for The New York Times Magazine entitled Success story:

It might be hard for most people to believe that Vietnamese Americans are discriminated in the United
States; however, this fact is regularly reflected especially in working places through Vietnamese
wages or job opportunities and at schools through relationships between Vietnamese Americans and
teachers as well as classmates. Vietnamese men earn 7 9% less than comparable East European men,
with more discrimination among the less educated and Vietnamese immigrants, male and female, are
much less likely to hold managerial and supervisory positions than comparable East European
immigrants (Yamane, 2012). If Vietnamese Americans are really the model minority, they should not
be discriminated and such differences between Vietnamese immigrants and White immigrants should
not exist. At schools, according to findings of a study conducted in 2000 by Santa Clara County,
California Vietnamese Americans account for 11.5% out of the total number of students feeling
teachers discriminate against them; it is estimated that 11.5% is the highest for any refugee or
immigrant group studied, and was more than twice the percentage for Asian Americans overall (at
5.0%) (Yang). Some stories and explanations shared by California students from Explorer and
Huntington High School in the Bolivar District, two schools with the increasingly large number of
Asian Americans in general and Vietnamese in particular, might elucidate that high percentage.
Specifically, at Explorer High School, Vietnamese American students need help and support from
teachers as well as classmates but sadly as Andrea, Vietnamese female said I d like to play with
Americans, but they hate Vietnamese so we hate them or as Duc, Vietnamese male stated The
American kids are very mean. They are prejudiced. They never associate with the Vietnamese. They

be stepped on and the Asian Boyz are called apples because they can be bitten. These odd nicknames
are just another example of the growing hatred between the two gangs. They are a mere Warner 2
representation of on going war and the animosity between the two often explodes into extreme
violence. Asian Boyz is a gang that has cultures of mostly half Asian. The Asian Boyz Gang has made
Southern California a killing field, as they would say. What makes them so special is that they will
always provide for one another financially and physically. Most gangs really do not care about one
another. They usually just are there to show their power so they will not get hurt, but ABZ is different.
They care for each gang member. One of the Asian boyz was lost without a home and money and all
the members gave him money and shelter for a few days so he could figure things

Euthyphro
Main question of the Dialogue
The main question of this dialogue is the definition of the word holy or piety. Euthyphro brags that he
is more knowledgeable than his father on matters relating to religion. In this case, Socrates suggests to
Euthyphro to define that term. The first definition fails to satisfy Socrates because of its limitation in
application. Apparently, Socrates perceives this definition as an example rather than a definition.
Subsequent arguments and line of questioning lead to five sets of definitions that are refined to find
the general definition. Socrates expects that the acceptable general definition of the question will act
as a reference point in his defense.
Problems with Euthyphro s initial definition
According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, the argument would imply that the justification is both holy and unholy, which is
rationally impractical.
What Socrates uses to Combat Euthyphro s Conceptions of holiness
At the core of Socrates argument is the need to break down the definition of holiness into smaller
coherent characteristics. Socrates uses a series of question that are consistent with Euthyphro s
argument to ensure that he [Euthyphro] offers a consistent flow of definitions of the word holy.
Euthyphro accepts these ideas because he offers different definitions that are in line with the clarified
ideations. Socrates uses basic philosophical question What is holy? , which leads to a myriad of
definitions with different characteristics. Euthyphro sums up all these characteristics in the final
definition.
Euthyphro s problem is that he is trying to show his prowess among social and philosophical elite by
proving his father to be impious. His ego coupled with his father s flattery obscures Euthyphro from
developing concrete definitions.
Deeper (Philosophical) Point of Justice
Socrates point on justice is that everything that is termed just ought to be entirely holy. On the other
hand, not everything that is deemed holy is just. However, the term just is used interchangeably with
the term morally good. I think Socrates point is to find enough proof to support any premise beyond
reasonable doubt.

Burden Of Leadership In Lord Of The Flies
Burden of Leadership
In the words of William Shakespeare, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. In William Golding s
novel Lord of the Flies, many of the characters are faced with the responsibility of authority.
Throughout the events of the novel, Ralph tries to keep his power. Jack works to gain power and the
role of chief. Piggy, as opposed to Jack and Ralph, works to achieve respect. In the novel Lord of the
Flies, William Golding effectively conveys the idea that the responsibility of leadership can weigh
heavily upon those unfit for power, resulting in fractures throughout society.
The effect of authority is reflected in the character of Ralph, through his struggle to maintain his
power. After the hunters brag about killing their first pig, Ralph declares there was a ship. Out there.
You said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (74). The authority he wields over the boys is
beginning to diminish through the boy s refusal to follow his orders. Ralph makes it clear they must
keep a fire burning in order to be rescued, yet the boys who are tasked with tending to it disobey their
command. As Ralph s power is pulled away from him, the majority of the boys turn to a leader who
they believe will protect them. During Ralph s flee from the savage camp, Sam and Eric warn Ralph
that they re going to hunt you down
to morrow (209). Ralph has been completely stripped of his position as chief, and has been painted as
the enemy in the other boys eyes. He was unable to maintain control over the position he was elected
into, causing disarray in the group s dynamic. Ralph is unable to use his power to benefit the
wellbeing of the island s society.
Another character who is incapable of using power positively is Jack. When the first assembly is being
called, Jack enters with the choir and shouts Choir! Stand still! (16). Even on the island, Jack
maintains his control over the choirboys and continues to give them orders despite their environment.
When the boys elect Ralph as chief, Jack is mortified. He believes he should be chief due to his head
boy status at school, and is taken back when the other boys don t vote for him. As the boys attitudes
begin to shift, Jack reaches for

Politics And The United States Essay
Politics has always been a contentious and controversial issue in the United States; immigrants are
constantly discriminated from exercising their civic duty such as the right to vote and to be voted for.
Politics in American is divided based on ideological difference and approach on key issues, which has
led to the two major political parties the Republican Party (conservative) often referred as the GOP
and the Democratic Party (liberal). Both parties hasn t yet come forward to fully discuss this
discriminatory act against the immigrants. These are people with the same equal rights as the citizens,
yet little is done to quench the situation. According to the United States census bureau, there are about
42.2million foreign nationals residing in the United States, with about one in four children under the
age of 18 to having at least one foreign born parent. This makes to about 12% of the U.S population,
consisting mostly of Latino and Asian descent. This is a tremendous number of people living in a
country and can t be fully integrated and accepted into the society, this is the same as the number of
people living in Italy. It is, however, ironic that the same people can serve in the military and other
risk occupation in the country. These immigrants have mostly lived their life in American, working
towards the American Dream, pledging their loyalty and allegiance to defend America, while
upholding and abiding the laws and rules of the country. Several federal laws

The Digital Era And Its Effect On The Music Industry
this is that people were not buying complete albums anymore. On the contrary to revenue decreasing,
more units of music were bought during the MP3 s popularity. The MP3 benefitted the industry at one

Today, MP3s start losing relevance and a new chapter of the digital era continues with streaming.
Because Internet speeds are faster and people are more comfortable with technology, it leads to this

Label and other contributors take their cut, and packing costs are subtracted leaving the artist with
roughly 11 percent of the sale (Fly). For example, an album selling for $11.99 would leave the retailer
with roughly $3.60. The rest is split between owners and the artists would be left with about $1.32.
Digital services that supply downloaded MP3s, such as iTunes, again take 30 percent of the sale. The
rest goes to the label and is dispersed to songwriters, producers, and other people involved. The artists
is then compensated 12 to 20 percent. With digital consumption, packaging and the tangible product
are nonexistent cutting costs. Furthermore, once a file is made, there is no need to create more because
the file can be easily duplicated (Fly). Although artists are receiving a higher percent of the sale, that
does not mean they are earning more money. As stated before, consumers do not have to buy a whole
album. This leads to consumers to be selective with their purchases and evidently, spend less than
what if they invested in a CD or other tangible forms of consumption. To put it in perspective, a music
single on iTunes costs $1.29 and the artist earns between 15 cents and 26 cents. The artist would have
to sell six additional singles to make up for an album sale that was loss. Streaming compensation is
more complex. One month an artist can have a certain amount of streams, and the next they can have

Like Water For Chocolate Feminist Analysis
The Roles of feminism in the novel Like Water for Chocolate Despite the fact that the novel is liked
by many, Like Water for Chocolate (1989), has often been said to be A poor imitation of the male
Mexican figure (Ibsen, 1997, p. 111). The novel can be described as simplistic, infantile, lacking any
clearly defined stylistic intention, and trendy . However, Ibsen argues that, Esquivel feminizes her
novel by presenting a community of women sustained through an activity such as the preparation of
food which transcends social barriers of class, race, and generation (p.112). After reading the novel
and comparing it to the Mexican culture, this paper will portray Laura Esquivel s life with values from

Now, at that time, I was only 12 years old, God had not endowed me with those gifts, but when I

using the Online Library, but my results continued to come back not found, but I was able to go on
line and research some things regarding the denominational differences. I was able to find an online
article that discussed the wrongs of denominationalism. In the article the writer stated that the
definition for denominationalism is the tendency to separate into religious denominations (Copeland
2001). By this article, denominations are clearly non scriptural, because God is about unity, for as Paul
states in the book of Ephesians 4:4 6, There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one
hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all,
and through all, and in you all. Bibliography Copeland, Mark A. www.ChristianLibrary.org. 2001.

  • 2. Meeting Luisa At The Bank Although we were not meeting Luisa at the bank until 11:00 o clock, we arrived in Marsciano early the next morning to wander around town. From a nearly home owner s perspective, we looked at everything anew. Marsciano was going to be our home town in Italy, where we would shop, attend community events, the weekly market, dine in restaurants and make new friends. As we did with Johannes, we parked the car near the community elevator and took the lift up to the center of town. We nodded our heads to the locals and bid them Bouna giornata; a Good Day when our eyes met in passing. We window shopped at the boutiques on the Corso Umberto, surprised by the high quality merchandise for sale in such a humble village. Soon, we saw Luisa ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... How could this possibly be real? Our lunch was even more delicious than the first time and our conversation was also more spirited. We vowed to take Italian lessons as soon as we returned to California. Vince was bound and determined to attend the Deed Signing ceremony in Perugia in May which meant that he would sign on my behalf so that I could accumulate my vacation time off from work for the actual Moving In and Setting Up House in the Fall. I asked Vince to paint each room before and acquire a bed, a table and some chairs during his visit in May so that when I arrived in September we had a place to sleep and the apartment was spic and span clean. It was already dark and raining gently when we arrived at the front door of B B Garibaldi in the early evening. Vince inserted the key into the front door lock, when much to his surprise, he felt the key snap in two as he turned it to unlock the door, leaving the stem in the keyhole. Oh great! Now what do we do? Vince said as he pulled the remaining part of the key out of the lock and looked at it bewildered in his hand. I don t know I answered. David emphatically asked us not to ring the doorbell because his grandmother is always sleeping. Let s try knocking on the door or calling his name. I believe that s his balcony. I m not going to yell out his name in the street. Vince responded. I reminded him that the only people we know were the Real Estate people. Let s see if any one is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Reflective essays The classic tragedy, as defined by Aristotle, has six major parts. These parts include a plot, characters, theme, melody, spectacle, and language. All stories, according to Aristotle must have a beginning, middle, and end, and must follow a logical sequence according to these six elements. The plot is the series of events, or sequence in which the action of the play occurs. Plot must follow a cause and effect relationship, which follows a logical pattern. Characters are the people in the play, who have certain qualities that can be determined by what they say, do and what others say about them. An enlightenment for the hero must follow at the end of the story to give us an idea that some greater good was accomplished or that some important lesson was learned. Oedipus demonstrates these four attributes of a tragic hero very clearly. He was a great person in that he was a prince in both Corinth and Thebes, as well as the king of Thebes. He demonstrated high moral standards through his selfless love of Thebes, and his relentless search for the truth, as well as his sense of responsibility for his actions. Oedipus character flaw was said to be his hubris or excessive pride, his not knowing when to quit and his thinking he could circumvent his fate. We also discussed in class, that perhaps he should have been more careful about who he murdered, having a fate as he did. His downfall was obviously having to live with the knowledge of what he did, being banished and blinded by his own hand. In his own words, I am misery! Oedipus realizes at the end that he is not as great as he once thought he was and that he cannot circumvent the will of the gods. The theme of darkness and light is used throughout the play as a symbol or knowledge or enlightenment. When Oedipus is blinded at the end he is then able to see the truth. 6. • 4. The Importance Of Memory And Short-Term Memory Roger goes to his friend s wedding where he is introduced to over 50 people. Roger s goal at this wedding is to meet new people, and remember as many names as he can. In order for him to get their names into long term memory, he first needs to get them past sensory, and short term memory. For him to be able to do this, he needs to come up with some strategies to remember these names. He will learn when it is necessary for him to rehearse the names over in his head, group some of them together, or making connections to the names. By testing out these strategies, we will learn how information moves from sensory memory to short term memory, and hopefully to long term memory. All information makes it to our sensory memory, but it only lasts less than one second. When Roger got to the wedding, there was probably tons of people in all different outfits, but he will probably never remember any of it. If he were to meet a woman who he thinks is attractive, her outfit could enter his short term memory so he can spot her out later during the party. If we pay attention to the information in our sensory memory, in information is sent on to the second stage, short term memory (Doyle Portillo Pastorino 271). The memory will last only about 20 30 seconds when it reaches the short term memory. Because the short term memory can hold about seven plus or minus two items, Roger could have payed close attention to the color of her eyes and hair too. Maybe when he leaves the ... The story of how Shiva and Parvati end up getting married provides insight into the relationships between gods and other gods. When Parvati s mother did not approve of Parvati marriage to Shiva. To show this disapproval she held a sacrifice and invite all gods, except for Shiva. To retaliate Shiva created two demons to kill Parvati s mother. In the end the other gods were able to rationalize with Shiva, allowing him to bring back Parvati s mother from the dead. In their next incarnation Shiva and Parvati got married (Mark Cartwright). This story shows how god can make flaws and how they can act irrationally. However it also shows how gods can come together and reason with those who are out of control. The issue of personal privacy should alarm Americans to focus on established privacy in America, infringements on privacy and efforts aiming at protecting personal information in lieu of a right to privacy. Privacy has been legally established in the United States over the course of its history mostly through Congressional Acts and Supreme Court decisions: specific privacy rights are not stated in the Constitution, and several amendments have been interpreted as giving privacy rights. In 1974 Congress passed into law the Privacy Act, which protects records that can be retrieved by personal identifiers such as a name, social security number, or other identifying number or symbol, and also grants access to personal information for the purpose of correcting any inaccuracies. While the act prevents the disclosure of personal information, this stipulation has twelve exceptions; furthermore, only Federal databases are subject to the Privacy Act. Certainly long enough for many to question the requirement of any business practicality to achieve success. Models of mediocrity failing up the corporate ranks because of their personal connections can be found in almost any professional environment. So much so it begs the question of how far back the practice exists. J.F. Bosher s conclusions on the reasoning of the success and failure in the New France trade during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries are inconclusive at best. Yet, the professor of history at the University of Toronto to his best summation is that the right religious association or social stature could have undoubtedly influenced prosperity. However, in Bosher s study of fifty eight bankruptcy cases between 1660 1760, he is quick to argue that there is no definitive evidence that point to one direct cause for financial ruin. Rather multiple conditions including chance that contributed to the fates of trade families. These complexities included war, the government, volatile economic trends, and religious/social structure (Bosher 458). Ultimately, many merchants turned to partnership through marriage or religion as means of establishing a trade network in an attempt to minimize those risks. Shortly, the only person that took the man and helped him was a Samaritan. He was the one that showed mercy and helped the man in need. God was pleased with the Good Samaritan. Since an individual s tie with his or her society is broken, he or she starts to believe that they are free from social expectations and they are free to act against the society in order to reform it. Egoistic beliefs made the suicide bombers feel as they are isolated from their own society and they don t hesitate to take a action for themselves. Therefore, deciding to become a suicide bomber is part of egoistic belief where committing the attack to please a group deals with the altruistic aspect of suicide bombing. Accordingly, the idea of suicide bombing can be categorized as both egoistic and altruistic suicide. There were many times when the egoistic and altruistic aspect of suicide overlapped ideas of one another. Therefore, it s time to re explore Durkheim s idea of egoistic and altruistic suicide in order to explore more of their similarities. Suicide bombing is an example of how these two form of suicides shares many common concepts. Consequently, suicide bombing suggests us to re evaluate Durkheim s concept of egoistic and ... • 26. God Is A Contractual Relationship Between God And God A covenant is a contractual relationship between two parties, usually a king and his followers. The covenant relationship between God and the people of Israel is strong. God makes covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For these covenants to be strong there needs to be loyalty and faithfulness on both sides. The Mishnah emphasizes this relationship in many of the texts, this relationship is most emphasized in the sections of prayer and festivals. The section of prayers is called zera im or seeds, it literally means the availability of agricultural products in Israel. This connects to prayer because in order for the land to be rich of agricultural products by God, the people of Israel need to pray and show gratitude to God. In the chapter the Life of the Torah , there is a section about the daily life of the Jew and much of the day consists of prayer. There are very specific times for prayer and recitation of the Shema and Tefillah. The Mishnah requires Jews pray before and after meals. The sages have many rules for blessing over food, there are different prayers for different types of food. They sages also require that the Jews say grace after meals, this prayer requires more components than prayers before meals. They thank him for the land, ask him to rebuild the temple, sustain his people, bless the host and hostess, and send peace to all of Israel. In the first section in Grace After Meals: Thanking God the Provider , the leader says For he is God who sustains all, doest good to all, and provides food for all creatures he has created. Blessed art thou, O Lord, who dost sustain all (696). These prayers are important to Jews because this shows that they are faithful to God and appreciate his work for them. The covenant here is if they stay faithful and gratuitous to God then God will rebuild Jerusalem, create peace for all of Israel and provide them with land and agriculture. Overall, the Rabbi s do not disagree on this topic. They all believe as long as they recite the benedictions at the right times and for the right things, then the covenant between God and the people of Israel will remain strong. Also, the section in Mishnah about the different festivals and celebrations highlight the covenant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Model Minority Research Paper Student: Tran Thi Thanh Tam Class: E11 Topic: Are Vietnamese Americans the model minority? In reality, Asian Americans are popularly seen as the model minority. However, the question whether Vietnamese Americans are really the model minority is still a long standing controversy. Model minority refers to a minority group that reaches higher educational, professional, and socioeconomic levels without protest against the majority establishment (Model minority definition: Free Sociology Dictionary: Model minority defined, (n.d.)). In 1966, the term was coined by sociologist William Petersen in his article for The New York Times Magazine entitled Success story: Japanese American style (UW Department, (n.d.)). It means at first, the term only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It might be hard for most people to believe that Vietnamese Americans are discriminated in the United States; however, this fact is regularly reflected especially in working places through Vietnamese wages or job opportunities and at schools through relationships between Vietnamese Americans and teachers as well as classmates. Vietnamese men earn 7 9% less than comparable East European men, with more discrimination among the less educated and Vietnamese immigrants, male and female, are much less likely to hold managerial and supervisory positions than comparable East European immigrants (Yamane, 2012). If Vietnamese Americans are really the model minority, they should not be discriminated and such differences between Vietnamese immigrants and White immigrants should not exist. At schools, according to findings of a study conducted in 2000 by Santa Clara County, California Vietnamese Americans account for 11.5% out of the total number of students feeling teachers discriminate against them; it is estimated that 11.5% is the highest for any refugee or immigrant group studied, and was more than twice the percentage for Asian Americans overall (at 5.0%) (Yang). Some stories and explanations shared by California students from Explorer and Huntington High School in the Bolivar District, two schools with the increasingly large number of Asian Americans in general and Vietnamese in particular, might elucidate that high percentage. Specifically, at Explorer High School, Vietnamese American students need help and support from teachers as well as classmates but sadly as Andrea, Vietnamese female said I d like to play with Americans, but they hate Vietnamese so we hate them or as Duc, Vietnamese male stated The American kids are very mean. They are prejudiced. They never associate with the Vietnamese. They play with their own group. (Phelan, Cao, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Being the second largest Asian gang and the twelfth largest gang in America, the Asian Boyz gang was established in the by a man named Marvin Mercado, nicknamed shy boy. The gang is mostly made up of Cambodians and Vietnamese men; whose main mission is to protect their own people from being attacked by Mexican gang members. These odd nicknames are just another example of the growing hatred between the two gangs. They are a mere Warner 2 representation of on going war and the animosity between the two often explodes into extreme violence. Asian Boyz is a gang that has cultures of mostly half Asian. The Asian Boyz Gang has made Southern California a killing field, as they would say. What makes them so special is that they will always provide for one another financially and physically. Most gangs really do not care about one another. They usually just are there to show their power so they will not get hurt, but ABZ is different. They care for each gang member. • 29. Euthyphro Main question of the Dialogue The main question of this dialogue is the definition of the word holy or piety. Euthyphro brags that he is more knowledgeable than his father on matters relating to religion. In this case, Socrates suggests to Euthyphro to define that term. The first definition fails to satisfy Socrates because of its limitation in application. Apparently, Socrates perceives this definition as an example rather than a definition. Subsequent arguments and line of questioning lead to five sets of definitions that are refined to find the general definition. Socrates expects that the acceptable general definition of the question will act as a reference point in his defense. Problems with Euthyphro s initial definition According ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this case, the argument would imply that the justification is both holy and unholy, which is rationally impractical. What Socrates uses to Combat Euthyphro s Conceptions of holiness At the core of Socrates argument is the need to break down the definition of holiness into smaller coherent characteristics. Socrates uses a series of question that are consistent with Euthyphro s argument to ensure that he [Euthyphro] offers a consistent flow of definitions of the word holy. Euthyphro accepts these ideas because he offers different definitions that are in line with the clarified ideations. Socrates uses basic philosophical question What is holy? , which leads to a myriad of definitions with different characteristics. Euthyphro sums up all these characteristics in the final definition. Euthyphro s problem is that he is trying to show his prowess among social and philosophical elite by proving his father to be impious. His ego coupled with his father s flattery obscures Euthyphro from developing concrete definitions. Deeper (Philosophical) Point of Justice Socrates point on justice is that everything that is termed just ought to be entirely holy. On the other hand, not everything that is deemed holy is just. However, the term just is used interchangeably with the term morally good. I think Socrates point is to find enough proof to support any premise beyond reasonable doubt. • 30. Burden Of Leadership In Lord Of The Flies Burden of Leadership In the words of William Shakespeare, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. In William Golding s novel Lord of the Flies, many of the characters are faced with the responsibility of authority. Throughout the events of the novel, Ralph tries to keep his power. Jack works to gain power and the role of chief. Piggy, as opposed to Jack and Ralph, works to achieve respect. In the novel Lord of the Flies, William Golding effectively conveys the idea that the responsibility of leadership can weigh heavily upon those unfit for power, resulting in fractures throughout society. The effect of authority is reflected in the character of Ralph, through his struggle to maintain his power. After the hunters brag about killing their first pig, Ralph declares there was a ship. Out there. You said you d keep the fire going and you let it out! (74). The authority he wields over the boys is beginning to diminish through the boy s refusal to follow his orders. Ralph makes it clear they must keep a fire burning in order to be rescued, yet the boys who are tasked with tending to it disobey their command. As Ralph s power is pulled away from him, the majority of the boys turn to a leader who they believe will protect them. During Ralph s flee from the savage camp, Sam and Eric warn Ralph that they re going to hunt you down to morrow (209). Ralph has been completely stripped of his position as chief, and has been painted as the enemy in the other boys eyes. He was unable to maintain control over the position he was elected into, causing disarray in the group s dynamic. Ralph is unable to use his power to benefit the wellbeing of the island s society. Another character who is incapable of using power positively is Jack. When the first assembly is being called, Jack enters with the choir and shouts Choir! Stand still! (16). Even on the island, Jack maintains his control over the choirboys and continues to give them orders despite their environment. When the boys elect Ralph as chief, Jack is mortified. He believes he should be chief due to his head boy status at school, and is taken back when the other boys don t vote for him. As the boys attitudes begin to shift, Jack reaches for ... • 31. Politics And The United States Essay Politics has always been a contentious and controversial issue in the United States; immigrants are constantly discriminated from exercising their civic duty such as the right to vote and to be voted for. Politics in American is divided based on ideological difference and approach on key issues, which has led to the two major political parties the Republican Party (conservative) often referred as the GOP and the Democratic Party (liberal). Both parties hasn t yet come forward to fully discuss this discriminatory act against the immigrants. These are people with the same equal rights as the citizens, yet little is done to quench the situation. According to the United States census bureau, there are about 42.2million foreign nationals residing in the United States, with about one in four children under the age of 18 to having at least one foreign born parent. This makes to about 12% of the U.S population, consisting mostly of Latino and Asian descent. This is a tremendous number of people living in a country and can t be fully integrated and accepted into the society, this is the same as the number of people living in Italy. It is, however, ironic that the same people can serve in the military and other risk occupation in the country. On the contrary to revenue decreasing, more units of music were bought during the MP3 s popularity. The MP3 benefitted the industry at one pint, but it is streaming that is keeping the live music industry alive. Today, MP3s start losing relevance and a new chapter of the digital era continues with streaming. Because Internet speeds are faster and people are more comfortable with technology, it leads to this innovation s popularity. Label and other contributors take their cut, and packing costs are subtracted leaving the artist with roughly 11 percent of the sale (Fly). For example, an album selling for $11.99 would leave the retailer with roughly $3.60. The rest is split between owners and the artists would be left with about $1.32. Digital services that supply downloaded MP3s, such as iTunes, again take 30 percent of the sale. The rest goes to the label and is dispersed to songwriters, producers, and other people involved. The artists is then compensated 12 to 20 percent. With digital consumption, packaging and the tangible product are nonexistent cutting costs. Furthermore, once a file is made, there is no need to create more because the file can be easily duplicated (Fly). Although artists are receiving a higher percent of the sale, that does not mean they are earning more money. As stated before, consumers do not have to buy a whole album. This leads to consumers to be selective with their purchases and evidently, spend less than what if they invested in a CD or other tangible forms of consumption. To put it in perspective, a music single on iTunes costs $1.29 and the artist earns between 15 cents and 26 cents. The artist would have to sell six additional singles to make up for an album sale that was loss. Streaming compensation is more complex. • 33. Like Water For Chocolate Feminist Analysis The Roles of feminism in the novel Like Water for Chocolate Despite the fact that the novel is liked by many, Like Water for Chocolate (1989), has often been said to be A poor imitation of the male Mexican figure (Ibsen, 1997, p. 111). The novel can be described as simplistic, infantile, lacking any clearly defined stylistic intention, and trendy . However, Ibsen argues that, Esquivel feminizes her novel by presenting a community of women sustained through an activity such as the preparation of food which transcends social barriers of class, race, and generation (p.112). After reading the novel and comparing it to the Mexican culture, this paper will portray Laura Esquivel s life with values from being raised in the Mexican culture by considering the ways in which Mama Elena De la Garza uses her power, and feminist ways as the head of the household in order to dominate and control her daughters. ... This debate is seen, in modern day, through the different denominations that are under the Christianity banner. Under the banner of Christianity there are Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Apostolic, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventist, Church of God in Christ (C.O.G.I.C), and Lutheran. I was able to find an online article that discussed the wrongs of denominationalism. In the article the writer stated that the definition for denominationalism is the tendency to separate into religious denominations (Copeland 2001). By this article, denominations are clearly non scriptural, because God is about unity, for as Paul states in the book of Ephesians 4:4 6, There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
