Detectives Research Papers
A detective is a police officer, whose duty is to detect criminals, by in depth investigation of cases.
When attempting to solve a crime, detectives conduct a criminal investigation that seeks all the facts
about a crime to help determine the truth: what happened and who is responsible. This involves
making a preliminary and final investigation. A detective #8217;s task is to gather, organize, and use
information about social behavior. To effectively complete that task a detective should possess certain
characteristics: intellectual, psychological, and physical. Studies were conducted on the importance
and efficiency of the criminal investigation system, and on the need to integrate written policies, and
rules. Detectives have many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A confession is not always necessary, because sometimes enough incriminating evidence has already
been obtained. If there is sufficient evidence or a confession is obtained, then detectives can arrest the
suspect. It is the detective #8217;s job to present the best possible case to the prosecution. After all
this occurs the case is disposed of. These steps are not always followed in this exact order, and
sometimes steps are eliminated. In conclusion, a detective #8217;s job is basically to clear or dispose
of a case (Bennett, 1981). Detectives, when conducting an investigation, should first determine
whether a crime has been committed. Thus, a detective who is familiar with the different crimes and
their elements (what must occur for an act to be called a specific type of crime), knows immediately if
a crime has actually been committed. When a detective receives a case, he or she conducts a
preliminary investigation. When establishing a case, a preliminary investigation consists of different
aspects. A detective #8217;s job includes such things as measuring, photographing, sketching, and
searching the crime scene, as well as identifying, collecting, examining, and processing physical
evidence. In addition, a detective questions victims, witnesses, and suspects. They record all
statements and observations in their notes. All aspects of the preliminary investigation are

Logical Fallacies In Arthur Miller s Death Of A Salesman
What Pity Creates What are logical fallacies? Logical fallacies are defects that weaken arguments.
There are many types of logical fallacies such as the appeal to pity. What is the appeal to pity? The
appeal to pity is where an arguer tries to get people to accept a conclusion by making them feel sorry
for someone. In the play Death of a Salesman, playwright Arthur Miller uses many logical fallacies,
the appeal to pity being the most frequently seen throughout the play. Linda and Willy use frequent
appeals to pity when dealing with their eldest son Biff, creating a dysfunctional and unhealthy
relationship. At the beginning of the play Linda and Willy use the appeal to pity in the most common
way by feeling sorry for Biff. Once again, it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His delusions are starting to take a real toll on the family as a whole. Especially Biff who takes them
the hardest because he cannot ignore them. This is due to the fact that Biff knows more about the
content of Willy s delusions than anyone else in the family does. When Willy was supposed to have a
special night out with his sons, he starts to have one of his many delusions. Instead of dealing with his
father, Biff just got up and left with Happy, his brother right behind him. Biff and Happy left their
father in a restaurant while he was in the middle of one of his delusions. When Willy finally comes out
of his delusion he cannot find either of his sons. That is when Willy looks up to the waiter and says,
But we were supposed to have dinner together, (Miller Pg. 121 Act 2). When Happy and Biff finally
get home later that night they have to face their mother. Linda is angry and ashamed of both of her
sons, especially of her eldest son Biff, for leaving Willy all alone in the restaurant while he was in the
middle of one of his delusions. Linda believes they treated him worse than they would have treated
any other decent human being. Linda shouts at Biff, You invite him to dinner. He looks forward to it
all day ... and then you desert him there. There s no stranger you d do that too! (Miller Pg. 123 Act 2)
Sadly Willy and Linda s use of pity with Biff does not stop there either. Willy and Linda continue

Segu Analysis
The author Maryse Conde has based the story of Segu on real life events and practices of the late 18th
and early 19th century. The author has tried to bring out the tensions that existed in Africa at that time
by using the four brothers of the Traore family,Tiekoro, Siga, Naba and Malobali as scapegoats. She
talks about each of these characters in depth to show us their influences on the city. She shows how
traditional religion and Islam impact each character in the story. The traditional religion practiced by
the Bambara people revolved around worshipping their ancestors. The believed that there were many
spirits and not one but many gods who would govern everyday life. These gods would decide on what
was to be done with their current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He had gone on to join the Ashanti army then. On his return, although Tiekoro was still a Bambara, he
dressed like a Muslim he wore loose robes, had his head cleanly shaven and he didn t adorn himself
with jewelry, jewelry that was quite common among men of Bambara he no longer desired the
physical presence of a woman in his bed and he also stopped practicing the traditional religion of the
Bambara. His faith now had only permitted him to believe in one god. He would be considered an
infidel if he did not stick to one religion. He would take off his cowhide sandals and submit and bow
down to pray to his God five times a day. He wanted to spread the words of Islam all throughout Segu.
He wished to give his people the power to read and write, the power to change their lives and submit
to a peaceful religion that didn t require them to perform any sinister sacrifices. He did this by opening
a koranic school with his own house. Too much surprise, Tieokoro s Islamic school had a number of
pupils, pupils coming from all the rich families of Segu. Even, the Mansa himself decided to send his
children to the Koranic school. This action not only amazed the Bambara people but it also amazed the
Traore family who were close to the king. El Hadj Omar, who at that time was considered as a very
holy person who had made numerous visits to Mecca, had decided to visit Segu and meet Tiekoro
after hearing so much about Tiekoro s efforts

The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out
There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted
assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and
professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to
problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to others
some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we assume others are
doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of communication. And,
sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize about a whole group . When you
put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you missing out on good situations and
even better people. On the other hand, you could also get yourself into trouble by assuming the best of
an entire group based on one experience with one or two people involved. Last year, I made an
unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the
workplace. Previous administration had left it to the bookkeeper to know when an employee left
during the work day. I let the bookkeeper know I had to leave for an hour or so, but didn t let my
administration know. It was during state testing week and we were not supposed to leave the school. I
should have cleared it with administration. I often make projections based on my own traits in my

Behavioral Aspects of Project Management
Behavioral Aspects of Project Management
Project management is much more than creating a work breakdown structure and tracking a plan. The
hardest part for many is the personal side of project management. In this paper, we will explore how
the organizational culture of a company and basic human behavior influence the success or failure of
projects. In conducting this exploration, we will envision ourselves in the following scenario, and
address the issues presented.
You have just been brought in on a project, as the previous project manager has left. The project is
behind schedule and over budget, and several key team members have quit in disgust, plummeting the
morale of the rest of the team, who fear they will have to do the ... Show more content on

The higher the saboteur scores on the power meter the greater the chance that the project will fail, but
no matter what the case a good project manager finds a way to get things done.
Does project leadership play a role? Leadership also plays a part in managing successful projects. On
the rare occasions when projects run relatively smoothly, the project manager need only manage the
process. However, projects seldom proceed down the WBS path as originally planned. Project
managers often have to deviate from what was originally planned and introduce changes in the project
scope and schedule to respond to unforeseen threats or opportunities. These changes often require the
project manager to do more than simply manage, they require him to step in and lead. That leadership
usually involves recognizing and articulating the need to significantly alter the direction and operation
of the project. It also means aligning people to the new direction and motivating them to work
together to overcome hurdles produced by the change in order to realize the new objectives.
Does this role change under duress? In a situation like the scenario we are discussing, leadership
skills, combined with a more assertive use of the standard interpersonal project management skills,
would need to be put into play. There is an immediate need to gain the trust of the project team
members. They need to feel that they can trust that the new

Environmental Awareness
Another important factor is that Swedish people are used to take care of the air inside their houses but
now when they are aware of the environmental concerns and its consequences in terms of pollution
and health it represent a very good opportunity for GIOEL.
Developed Direct Selling Market
So in Sweden there s a large but decreasing (in terms of turnover) direct selling amount with an
increasing share of the person to person selling. If the trends will be confirmed in the future years, the
person to person will stabilize its position of principal way of direct selling market. So the decreasing
trend caused by e commerce won t affect so badly GIOEL. The most important fact is that Swedish

Krona Currency Fluctuations
According to the data provided by the European Central Bank, since 2011, Swedish Krona has
experienced fluctuations and it is not so stable until the beginning of 2013. Starting from this date we
see a clear trend of Swedish Krona depreciation which indicates a decrease of purchasing power of the
currency. If Swedish Krona continues to depreciate it could be difficult for GIOEL to compete in the
Swedish market with local producers that have lower prices and the economic exposure also could be
high.
Predominance of e commerce
The unitary price for vacuum cleaners Is decreased in 2014 due mainly to the growing consumer
preference for basic function and economy models. At the same time we see an increase of stores and
e commerce retailers. Since the Swedish economy in 2014 was not so thriving, consumers have started
to make shopping on discount. This fact has had obviously absorb even vacuum cleaner purchases. In
fact, all vacuum cleaners recorded a decrease on retail volume sales, with the only exception for
robotic vacuum cleaners. The direct selling is remaining only a marginal sales channel for vacuum
cleaners in Sweden, with 3% shares of retail volume sales in the same

Personal Reflection
As I was reading this book, I kept having awe moments because I have either seen the material
covered in real time or have thought about it. Out of the five career strategy components, the two that
stood out for me were extending experiences and networking/connecting. Reflecting on my
educational and professional career, these two themes have been the most relevant.
Extending experiences When I graduated from UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), I expected to get a job
within the month. I believed that by simply having my degree I would stand out from the group, little
did I know this was completely false. I had a resume with little experience and realized it was my lack
of previous experiences that would haunt me. In addition to having little experience, I never visited a
career counselor at UCSB to assist me with the proper structure of a resume and cover letter. Feeling
unprepared and disappointed at myself about how I used my time while at UCSB, I fell into a minor
depression. After every denial email from employers, my depression grew. However, it was one
experience that truly shaped my job search perception. I applied to any and every job in the market
and got the opportunity to interview for AT T for a clerk position. Going into the job interview I had
high hopes because I knew I had the discipline. When I entered the office where the interview was
being held, the hiring manager asked me a few questions about myself and then he stopped. He was
looking over my resume and

The Incredible Power of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich
It has been Russian writers in particular, who for two centuries have struggled against censorship and
oppression to accomplish two great tasks: to create innovative and meaningful art, and to use that art
to make a statement about a specifically Russian predicament. So often the theme was political, and so
many generations of Russians criticised Mother Russia for her backward ways. Vissarion Belinsky s
caustic admonitions in his Letter to Gogol were long a rallying cry for writers: This is why, especially

Much of GULAG was based on hundreds of letters and memoirs that former prisoners mailed to
Solzhenitsyn after One Day was published. (Remnick, 119)
When reading One Day it is overwhelming to comprehend and imagine this single dawn to dusk
description, with the hindsight to understand that millions of multitudes of men and women suffered
through such an evil scheme of servitude of cruelty.
One Day was the first book of its kind to be printed in Russia. Miraculously, it was not only printed,
but subsequently soldto the citizenry, who were actually allowed to read it. This unheard of event
occurred during a very delicate period of time known as the Khrushchev thaw , when open
condemnation of the cult of personality began to become commonplace, even expected. These brief
years of relief enjoyed a momentary artistic flowering, and poets like Yevgeny Yevtushenko and
Anderi Voznezensky, among others, began to emerge. During Khrushchev s cultural thaw, plays or
novels such as Solzhenitsyn s One Day in the Life of Ivan Denizovich were the primary signs of new
freedom. (Smith, 110) The response to this little book was immense, and an interesting documentation
of varied responses to it is included in Leopold Lebedze s work, Solzhenitsyn: A Documentary

Cheerleading is the sport that test athletes physical and mental abilities. Most people ask what do
cheerleaders do? Well that is a simple question to most, they cheer. Yes they do cheer, but cheerleaders
do way more than most people think. They define gravity. Cheerleadings roots are closely tied to
American football s. The first intercollegiate game was played in 1869, between Princeton University
and Rutgers University in New Jersey, and by the 1880s ( varsity.com ). The question today is whether
or not cheerleading is safe or harmful to athletes.

there which is a concussion. In the Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners said
that A cheerleader may hit her head on a gym floor and that can cause skull fractures in addition to

If you would go around a room full of cheerleaders and ask why do you do this so called sport i

Anselms Ontological Argument For The Existence Of God Summary
In Anselm s ontological argument of the existence of God, Anselm s goal is to prove the existence of
God by purely logical truths and reasoning (that is, his argument only contains A Priori knowledge). A
summary of Anselm s argument is that, because God exists in understanding, and that God is the
supreme being, and that real things are greater than things only existing in understanding, then God
must exist in understanding. A formal, numbered argument follows: The next second and third
premises are not directly stated, but Anselm uses an argument which deserves special attention to
assert the premise is sound. Anselm claims, that for someone to have the capacity to argue against this
argument, then person must understand the definition

Prisoners of war were quite common as Rome was almost always at war somewhere in her territory or
at the borders. The defeated army would likely be slaughtered or the survivors would be sold into
slavery. Caesar did so in his 9 year Gallic wars, enslaving an estimated a million prisoners to pay his
troops. Plutarch (Caes. 15). Being sold into slavery was mostly the cause of piracy. In the years before
167 BC the people on the island of Rhodes ensured safe passage through the eastern Mediterranean,
however once the Romans destroyed the Rhodian fleet, pirates were given the opportunity to attack
whoever they chose, resulting in a plentiful supply of cheap slaves to be sold. As stated in Cicero Who
sailed the seas without exposing himself to the risk either of death or of slavery? People born to a
slave were automatically a slave themselves. They were called vernae. Vernae were likely to be the
result of a liason between a free person in the household and a slave. This was likely as no female
slave could refuse her master or free males in the house. Slaves being born into slavery profited their
masters greatly as they were not paid for and then later on could be sold for more money. As military
service was mandatory to all in Rome except for slaves, numbers of vernae could grow rapidly and
without restriction. Some

There was only one instrument used in this song and that was an acoustic guitar played by Mayer
himself. In this song the tone color was soft throughout the whole song. He played a quiet but sweet
guitar sound. He sang the song in a low pitch without ever getting loud which made the song have
more emotion. I believe there was compression used on this song because in some parts of the song
where he is singing in a higher pitch the music never got any louder. Furthermore, reverb was used as
well because as you listen to the music you can hear the acoustic guitar reflection even after he has
played the note. This song fits perfect into John Mayer s singing and guitar playing style. His style is
singing in a soft tone that is sweet and not very loud and this song fits that perfectly. In addition, he
plays his guitar and highlights his skills in some parts of the song which is what he likes to do in many
of his songs. Mayer also sings with a lot of emotion and this song you can just feel the emotion in the
guitar and his voice. The emotion that Mayer sings with is something that is really phenomenal about
his musical style. In this song, his message is that parents should spend time and love on your children

Stress Management

Whenever I tell someone that they need to learn how to control their stress they always tell me they
need their stress. They are right, they do need their stress, we all need a certain amount of stress in our
lives. No stress is almost just as unhealthy as too much stress. Just the right amount of stress is called
Eustress. Eustress is a healthy stressor because it helps to keep us motivated. Unhealthy stress is called
Distress. Distress is unhealthy because it can cause all sorts of health problems such as anxiety attacks

#61623; Exercise regularly
Nothing beats aerobic exercise for relieving stress. The stress reaction in the body consists of
tightened muscles, increased heart rate, Increased blood pressure, and heavier breathing . The result is
our bodies go into a state of high energy but there is usually no place for that energy to go. Exercise is
the most logical way to dissipate this excess energy. In turn relieving stress.
#61623; Humor
Humor is the best medicine. Laughter reduces the heart rate and arterial blood pressure to below their
original levels and causes the chest, abdomen, and shoulder muscles to contract, thus providing release
from stress. Do the quiz in one of my humor potential quiz books located in the back of this report to
test yourself and see if you should be laughing more than you do. #61623; Realistic Expectations
A common source of stress is unrealistic expectations. People often become upset about something not
because it is innately stressful but because it is not what they expected. For example, If you get caught
in slow moving traffic during rush hour you may not like it but it won t surprise you or necessarily
upset you. However if it occurs on a Sunday afternoon it is more than likely to stress you out
considerably. When expectations are realistic life seems more predictable and therefore more
manageable because you can plan ahead and prepare yourself. As for

Response to His Coy Mistress Essay
Response to His Coy Mistress Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress is the charming depiction of a
man who has seemingly been working very hard at seducing his mistress. Owing to Marvell s use of
the word coy, we have a clear picture of the kind of woman his mistress is. She has been encouraging
his advances to a certain point, but then when he gets too close, she backs off, and resists those same
advances. Evidently, this has been going on for quite some time, as Marvell now feels it necessary to
broach the topic in this poem. He begins in the first stanza by gently explaining that his mistress s
coyness would not be a crime if there were world enough, and time… (l.2). He compares his love to a
vegetable, which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We are left with no doubt as to what the fate of the lovers will be, as well as the state of his own
feelings for her: then worms shall try That long preserved virginity, And your quaint honor turn to
dust, And into ashes all my lust (ll. 26 30). These lines seem a bit morbid, but I also sense the use of
horror, on Marvell s part, to further convince his mistress to succumb to his affections. He is basically
telling her that if she continues to resist him, it will be the worms that remove her virginity from her,
as opposed to someone who really cares about her, namely him. He also reminds her that the honor
that she is clinging to so tightly to will mean nothing when worms know her intimately. Further, his
feelings for her will be utterly gone. The second stanza ends with these lines, my favorite: The grave s
a fine and private place, / But none I think do there embrace. This ironic statement provides the
crowning argument: Marvell has just described a love that would be timeless if such a thing were
allowed. With a love such as this how can they let time slip through their fingers, and justify it? This
also provides the second, and perhaps more important theme in the poem. The message is that the
lovers, and consequently we who read the poem, should use the time we have been given to the best of
our advantage. In the case of Marvell and his mistress, they should use the time to clutch at the love

TATA steel strategy was to integrate the value chain of steelmaking to aid the growth of Asia s

very different. Specifically, the New England Colonies and the Southern were similar and different in

The New England Colonies differed from the Southern colonies in their religious practices. In the
New England Colonies religion played a major defining role in all aspects of their lives while the
Southern colonies did not take religion into consideration quite as much. The establishment of the
New England colonies was different from the South because their main objective was to establish safe
places for those fleeing England from possible religious persecutions. In the book, A Patriot s History,
the authors stated, But the Pilgrims rightly hold a place of high esteem in America history, largely

Timgad lies on the northern slopes of the Aures Mountains, in modern day Algeria. Its location meant
that it controlled several important valleys leading into the Aures mountains and enjoyed a good

Prison Riots In Venezuela
In October 2016, Fox News Latino reported that during a month long riot at the Táchira Detention
Center in Caracas, 40 inmates dismembered and consumed three fellow inmates. There have been
close to 200 prison riots in Venezuela in 2016, with the cause being attributed to a worsening social
situation, increasing poverty, and food shortages resulting in overcrowded prisons.
Venezuela was thrown into uncharted political territory after the government controlled Supreme
Court backtracked on its decision to suspend the opposition controlled National Assembly. The
unprecedented ruling opens a new chapter in the long and bitter standoff between both factions and

Hydration Of Norbornene
This report concerns the acid catalyzed hydration of norbornene to produce exo norborneol. Such
hydration reactions of alkenes typically occur under acidic conditions so that a strong enough
electrophile is available in solution for the nucleophilic double bond on the alkene to successfully
attack it. This is to say, that if this reaction is done in water, with the hydrogen as the electrophile, the
O H bond is too strong for the double bond to effectively attack the hydrogen and detach it. If instead
H3O+ is available in acidic conditions, the extra proton attached to the molecule is the electrophile;
this electrophile is strong enough for the reaction to proceed. After the double bond attacks the
hydrogen, a carbocation forms as the proton attaches to the least substituted carbon of the ones
participating in the double bond. This happens because this allows the more stable carbocation to
form, as the positive charge would then exist on the more substituted carbon. The functional groups
attached to this carbocation donate their electron density to it, thus stabilizing it. This overall effect is
often called the Markovnikov rule. However, in this case the two carbons that are connected to each
other by the double bond are the same in terms of how substituted they are, and the hydrogen can
bond to either of them and still yield the same product. The resulting carbocation can then be attacked
by a water molecule. In theory, water can either attack from the top or bottom

Pros And Cons
The New Jersey Gubernatorial election is impending and citizens will be able to select the candidate
that they think will best serve their needs. New Jersey s Constitution includes that these general
elections shall be held annually on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November also, the time
of holding such elections may be altered by law. Currently there are two candidates, Kim Guadagno
who is on the Republican side and Phil Murphy who stands on the Democratic side. Both candidates
have contradictory perspectives on topics that are spoken about during the debates. I believe Phil
Murphy is the best candidate due to his promising ideas on controversial issues that are seen in New
Jersey. Considering that there are more democrats ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This demonstrates Murphy s initiative in fixing the economy through various beneficial solutions.
Doing so he will be helping the people of New Jersey by lowering property taxes, which individuals
can finally be relieved to hear. Murphy also wants to be more strict with spending on transit to ensure
that the roads and bridges are functional rather than crowded with tolls. Personally, I think this is very
efficient because these two factors make New Jersey very expensive to live in and by lowering taxes
and being more strict with transit the economy can steadily progress to a stable point. Murphy wants
to grow the economy due to the state being ranked last or near last in growth and inequalities. He
states, We need an economy that works for all New Jerseyans not just the special interests, I flat out
reject the us versus them approach to our economy, it is time we get back to thinking about we (Phil
Murphy). Murphy wants to achieve this by raising the wage to $15 an hour, ensure equal pay for equal
work, and make millionaires and corporations pay their fair share of taxes. If this is successful then the
economic standing that New Jersey holds will soon exponentially rise to the top. At the same time,
Murphy wants to fix the economy so that more is invested in schools, family care and the elimination
of poverty. Along with this Murphy also

Effects On The Capital Market Union
Effects On the Capital Market Union Due to Brexit: Positive or Negative?
Fluctuations in the economy are normal anywhere in the world and have gone through multiple series
of highs and lows ever since scholars began the study of economics. One of the most well known
economic booms occurred when the Industrial Revolution began in the United Kingdom.
Coincidentally, the recently announcement of the exit of United Kingdom (UK) from the European
Union (EU) caused a great deal of uncertainty among investors across the world and this affected the
economy globally. It is not surprising to see that events happening in Europe can greatly affect the
stock markets around the world. The exit is confirmed after a referendum was held and passed
nationally where the count of votes to exit was higher than to remain in the European Union. An exit
from the EU is a first of its kind and will create a high degree of fluctuations in the economy
especially during the process of withdrawal. This will nonetheless disrupt the European Commission s
Capital Markets Union (CMU) plan which is what this paper is about. The European Commissions
introduced CMU to integrate capitals throughout the EU allowing the European Commission to
mobilize funds in attempt to build a more efficient Single Market. UK s exit will likely have negative
impacts on the CMU s plan since there will have to be restructuring of the plan depending on the
negotiations of exit between UK and the EU. Until we know where the UK and

Vladimir Lenin And The Soviet Revolution
Vladimir Lenin has proven to be a difficult figure to place in history. Some choose to view him as one
of the most influential political leaders in history, while others allow him to fade off into the past.
Lenin s image also greatly depends on where one lives. In the western half of the world, Lenin is
viewed as a man of destruction, and Winston Churchill called him The Grand Repudiator. In other
parts of the world, he is viewed as a man who tried to make the best out of a failing situation. Lenin
was a revolutionary intellectual who establish the Bolshevik Party (later renamed the Communist
Party). He was the leader of the Bolshevik Revolution, and, therefore, began the first government of
the Soviet Union. Lenin became leader of the USSR in 1922 and ruled until his death in 1924, when
Joseph Stalin assumed power. Though many argue that Lenin started one of the worst governments in
history, Russian Communism, Lenin actually provided a solution for the troubling times in Russia. In
the 1890, Lenin quit his job as a lawyer and moved to St. Petersburg where he became involved with a
group of radicals that supported the ideas of Karl Marx. In 1903 at the Second Congress of the
Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDLP), Lenin and his fellow radicals argued for the
development of a new political party that was tight knit and limited in number. This party would be
highly involved in organizational work. Later in 1904 1905 when Russia went to war with Japan, and

Analysis Of The Poem Adair Billy
Adair Billy is quite connected to her Indian identity, although it does not seem like it. She lives in
New Orleans, Louisiana, working as a stockbroker for a large firm, where she is highly sought after
and praised for her abilities. She made a name for herself there by saving many clients a lot of money,
she woke up to a voice telling her about a company that was not doing well. She removed her clients
from the firm going under, many believing that it was her Native upbringing, and they are not wrong.
In addition to this, Adair has a strong interest in early Indian commerce and relations within New
Orleans. This causes her to believe that her job as a stockbroker is connected to her Indian identity, the
narrator saying, Adair tells herself she s following a tradition established by her ancestors. After all,
Indians were the first commodity traders of the New World (Howe 42). She has found a way to
incorporate her background into her life, even though she is not living in Durant, Oklahoma anymore.
Her Indian identity is present within her career and interests, different from the way Auda s is present,
and different from the way Tema Billy s is as well. Tema Billy no longer lives in Durant, but is close
by in Dallas, Texas. Tema is an artist of all kinds; she first worked with the American Indian dance
company and made the move to New York City. She worked odd jobs and eventually took up acting,
playing roles as a Spanish, Greek, and Italian woman. She then has a son with

Speciation And Evolution Of Cichlids
Speciation and Evolution of Cichlids in East Africa
Dr. Hoeh WIC
Matthew S. Holcomb
March 2, 2015 Introduction
The East African cichlids are a rather interesting and diverse group of fish, and have caught the eye of
many scientists particularly because of the speed, diversity, and convergent patterns of their radiation
(Yong Hwee et al. 2012). For instance, there are 500+ species in just one lake, Lake Victoria, and an
estimated 2,000+ species in total. The fish in lake Victoria, which is estimated to be 100,000 400,000
years old or less and to have suffered a complete drought only 14,600 years ago, are an amazing
example of just how quickly these fish have diversified (Rijssel et al. 2014). And on an evolutionary

that the ancestral lineage of the EAR s have spread from the lakes in Central Africa. However their

Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning
Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a risk. First
and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries
before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the
beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for
humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a
lot of failure on cloning but maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has
increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re
basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can
clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which
only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they
have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it?
Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day
life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand
dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must
have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning
a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won
t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet
for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t
even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really
think about cloning pets and them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it
at there own risk. Know in an article named What happened to cloning? They are stating that back in
the 2000 s they thought of banning cloning but politicians could not agree at what stage of
development cloning should be

compare transport planning, policy implementation of different countries across the globe. It was
found that countries already heavily developed in vehicular mode (private vehicle) is having hard time
shifting modal preference to sustainable urban transport systems (MRT, BRT, NMV); as this requires
huge initial capital investment, enthusiastic public participation political statesmanship sagacity
willingness to face hostile public reaction to change over (ie; Singapore modal shift from vehicular to
public transport) (MoT, Singapore website, 2014). Countries like USA also faces huge public
opposition (perception of curtailment of freedom) legal barrier (4th amendment, US constitution),
(Richard, 2009). USA (San Francisco, Portland, New York, and Milwaukee) has deconstructed
freeways (Norquist, 2000); France (Paris) has converted Georges Pompidou Expressway into Paris
Plage (Paris Beach) (Charles Siege, 2007) and South Korea (Seoul) has removed Cheonggye freeway
to restore Cheonggyecheon river (Natalie, 2013). Achieving the balance between progress and impact
is a delicate dance choreographed through sustainable development planning, policy and pragmatic
implementation. How the described countries are faring will now be scrutinized.

Packaging can be defined as the materials used for the containment, protection, handling, delivery, and
presentation of goods (Murphy and Knemeyer, 2015). Promotion, protection, and identification are the
three general functions that packaging serves (Murphy and Knemeyer, 2015). Packaging is perceived
as a major environmental issue based on eighty percent of consumers (Murphy and Knemery, 2015).
Differing acceptable regulations across nations is a key problem when selecting packaging material
(Murphy and Knemeyer, 2015). Using environmentally packaging material is one packaging strategy a
firm can adopt (Murphy and Knemeyer, 2015).
The London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games or LOCOG presented ten
key areas central to achieving sustainability. Packaging was a key area, with a main focus of catering
as they produced the majority of the packaging at the Games. Across all venues, LOCOG aimed to
achieve a seventy percent re use, recycling and composting goal. This was thought to only be
attainable by incorporating compostable packaging. The use of compostable packaging would also
increase the quality of the recyclable stream (Valpak, 2012).
With the help of a variety of shareholders, LOCOG created Packaging Guidelines to inform suppliers
of certain packaging criteria that were required in order to serve as a supplier for the 2012 Summer
Olympic Games. Once completed in 2010, these Packaging Guidelines were included with contracts

Many books have been banned from school libraries. Have it be the language, racial themes, sex,

the books. What about Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes a book about a 32 year old man named
charlie who is developmentally disabled and has the opportunity to undergo a surgical procedure that
will dramatically increase his mental capabilities. Why ban this book? Well in this book you can find
references to the use of alcohol, references to sexual content and Bullying. The book s references to
sexual content, alcohol use, and bullying influenced many parents to have this book be banned, but is
the banning of this book throughout the nation justified.
One reason why Flowers of algernon by daniel keyes was banned in many schools was because of the

The Heart-warming Story of Rain Man
Rain Man is a heart warming and captivating film, based in the 1980s, in America. The plot revolves
around Charlie Babbitt, who discovers after his father s death that he has an autistic brother,
Raymond. The plot revolves around Charlie spontaneously kidnapping him from a mental hospital and
taking his brother on a bizarre journey of self discovery, culture and self awareness, with the goal of
seeking his late father s inheritance. The director, Barry Levinson who makes a cameo as Raymond s
psychiatrist is now less famous for writing (as well as directing) political satire and sci fi films such as
Man of the Year, starring Robin Williams and The Bay, featuring Kether Donohue (Scott, 2012).
Whilst tackling serious issues such as mental health, and adding a little comedy as well, Rain Man has
truly left a legacy for the American and global film industry.
One of the fanatically portrayed themes in the film is disability and the way the director uses minor
characters as props to communicate how society perceived disabled people in the 1980s. For example,
a bar maid, Sally suggests that Ray is a very clever boy . This is significant because she is the only

Australi An Aussie Way Of Life
An Aussie way of life Australia is a large island that is surrounded by clear blue oceans and populated
with the most honest, laid back, respectful, friendly and relaxed people you will ever meet. This
country identity can be described in many ways but by a true australian they would tell you it is just

diving and scuba/snorkeling are just a few things Aussie s do to just past time from their boring lifes.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, in Australia more than 85% of people live within 50
kilometres of the coastline of Australia. My life revolves around the beaches and marine life. Growing
up doing nippers, learning to swim and creating lifelong friendships from such a small age has
affected my life for the best. It has moulded me into a true aussie. I have been a lifesaver for 3 years
now and when I turn 17 and get all of the certificates needed to become a lifeguard i will not let the

Market Segmentation of Skin Care Products
Market Segmentation of Skin Care Products Introduction The quest for beauty is an endless endeavour
at all times. Despite the old saying cautioning us that beauty is only skin deep, billions of dollars is
spent on skin care products every year for men and women, young and old alike. In this multi million
dollar industry, every company tries hard to maximize their profit. One of the most common methods
they apply is market segmentation. As every customer has unique needs and expectations towards
certain products, the ultimate goal of market segmentation is to organize customers into groups which
allows targeting of customers with similar needs of and response to the products. The key is to
minimize differentiation within each segment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Young girls are more concerned about acnes and blackheads while mature women are looking for anti
aging and anti wrinkle products. Genders do affect the choice of skin care products. In the past, skin
care products only belong to the girls world. Nevertheless, in recent years, men are increasingly
becoming more and more concerned about skin care. With a view to this latest trend, various brands
have started developing men s line. Income level directly affects the purchasing power of customers.
Skin care products take up a wide range of price levels from far less than a hundred dollars to more
than a thousand. Young girls who do not have any income cannot afford the expensive skin care
products while mature women with higher purchasing power focus more on quality and effectiveness.
Occupations also determine the need for skin care products. Models and artists generally have a higher
consciousness on skin care than people with less exposure to the public. Psychographics divides
customers according to their personality and lifestyle. Customers choose skin care products which
match their lifestyle. Busy business women may tend to spend less time on skin care. Thus, they will
likely choose the skin care products with a combination of functions which save their time and effort
in both selection and usage. Women who spend more time outdoors may need skin care products with
sun protection function. Lastly, behaviours also contribute to the difference in needs for skin

A Class DIvided Essay
A CLASS DIVIDED
Thirty years ago Jane Elliott taught the third grade in the white, Christian community of Riceville,
Iowa. The day Martin Luther King Jr. was killed she planned an exercise that wouldn t just show her
students what racism is rather, it would give them first hand experience of what it felt like to be
oppressed for something out of their control.
Elliott divided her class by the color of their eyes, marked them with armbands and proceeded to treat
one group as if superior in capabilities to the other. The superior students performed better than they
ever had before, while the inferior students performance dropped. The next day, the third graders
traded ranks and their performance reversed in accordance to their ... Show more content on

(INTERVIEW WITH JANE ELLIOT) http://www.newsreel.org/transcri/essenblue.htm The children
learned that discrimination has a tangible affect on their performance in everyday activities. Elliott has
gone on to do the exercise with numerous adults and almost without exception the participants
abilities, such as reading and writing, are grossly affected.
Jane Elliott s approach is especially relevant today. It demonstrates that even without juridical
discrimination; hate speech, lowered expectations, and dismissive behavior can have devastating
effects on achievement. Black members of the blue eyed group forcefully remind whites that they
undergo similar stresses, not just for a few hours in a controlled experiment, but every day of their
lives. Although these concepts are food for thought... they are merely preludes to the main course. The
most important lesson to be learned here is that just one person can make a difference.
Next we join a group of 40 teachers, police, school administrators and social workers in Kansas City
blacks, Hispanics, whites, women and men. The blue eyed members are subjected to pseudo scientific
explanations of their inferiority, culturally biased IQ tests and blatant discrimination. When the
inevitable resistance by a blue eyes surfaces, Elliot cites the outburst as an example of

Plea Bargain Advantages
When most people think of criminal sentencing they think of a grand wooden courtroom with a full
jury and a proud judge in black presiding over it all, but that is far from the usual for those that are
accused of federal crimes. The reality of what happens after you are accused of a crime is much
different, as much of the bulk of those accused of a crime end up plea bargaining for a variety of
reasons, and very few people actually end up going to trial. An in depth look is necessary to really
understand the complicated truth of the relationship the plea bargain has with our justice system and
our citizens. To understand the plea bargain it takes looking into what originally it was made for, what
it represents now, and the effect it has on our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 2013, while 8 percent of all federal crime charges were dismissed... more than 97 percent of the
remainder were resolved through plea bargains, and fewer than 3 percent went to trial. 3 It was the
goal at our country s founding that almost all citizens accused of a crime have a fair and impartial jury
trial to decide the innocence or guilt of the accused, and we know where and why that changed and the
effect it has on the system and government but what about the citizens and society? What about the
people the very system is meant to protect and serve? Despite the advantages plea bargaining gives to
the defendant it s very essence is assuming that the defendant is guilty, so what if they re not? It s not
all that uncommon to get the wrong guy when searching for a suspect especially when racial and class
profiling comes into the mix. So understanding the 8% being thrown out for this reason there s still a
lot of room for innocents still within the system, and going by the statistics it seems very likely that
there are innocents being forced, coerced, or outright bullied into plea bargaining

Persuasive Techniques Used in Poetry Essay
Persuasive Techniques Used in Poetry
Compare the persuasive techniques used in the poems. Say which poems you feel are the most
effective and Why?
Persuading poets have been writing poems on love, lust and nature since the beginning of time. The 7
poems that are analysed here range from the 16th 19th centuries.
These poems are all written by men arguing and persuading the effects of love.
In To virgins , it appears that Robert Herrick uses small amounts of natural imagery to persuade
virgins and to stress the fast passing of time. He begins with a time threatening statement urging the
virgins to
gather ye rosebuds while ye may he then adds
This same flower that smiled today tomorrow will be dying .

He ends the fourth stanza with a negative mood by using you may forever tarry .
This phrase means that for the rest of your life you will suffer with loneliness if you don t follow his
commands.
Herrick s poem is in an ordered structure and has an alternate rhyming rhythm that makes the poem
more commanding. The lack of imagery in this poem gives it a more uneasy and blunt mood. The pace
of the rhythm in this poem is quick which links in with the expressing of fast time and adds to the
effect of a threatening poem.
This poem suggests to me that maybe he is desperate so he uses the persuasion accordingly.
This poem compares well to Of Beauty by Richard Fanshawe because both of the poems are in an
ordering mood and have a positive and negative part of the stanza s.
It also compares well to To his coy mistress by Andrew Marvell. Both of the poems are arguing that
time is running out so let me love you now while we have the time. They both use a lot of time
statements such as long loves day , nearer he s to setting and ten years before . The second poem, Of
Beauty by Richard Fanshawe, is a short, one stanza poem. It uses personification during the middle of
the stanza.
Earth her winter coat may cast, and renew her beauty past .
These uses of personification are to state that winter is a person and her beauty runs out so and so will
yours.
Earth her winter coat may cast .
The imagery that is used in Of Beauty is

  • 2. Detectives Research Papers A detective is a police officer, whose duty is to detect criminals, by in depth investigation of cases. When attempting to solve a crime, detectives conduct a criminal investigation that seeks all the facts about a crime to help determine the truth: what happened and who is responsible. This involves making a preliminary and final investigation. A detective #8217;s task is to gather, organize, and use information about social behavior. To effectively complete that task a detective should possess certain characteristics: intellectual, psychological, and physical. Studies were conducted on the importance and efficiency of the criminal investigation system, and on the need to integrate written policies, and rules. Detectives have many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A confession is not always necessary, because sometimes enough incriminating evidence has already been obtained. If there is sufficient evidence or a confession is obtained, then detectives can arrest the suspect. It is the detective #8217;s job to present the best possible case to the prosecution. After all this occurs the case is disposed of. These steps are not always followed in this exact order, and sometimes steps are eliminated. In conclusion, a detective #8217;s job is basically to clear or dispose of a case (Bennett, 1981). Detectives, when conducting an investigation, should first determine whether a crime has been committed. Thus, a detective who is familiar with the different crimes and their elements (what must occur for an act to be called a specific type of crime), knows immediately if a crime has actually been committed. When a detective receives a case, he or she conducts a preliminary investigation. When establishing a case, a preliminary investigation consists of different aspects. A detective #8217;s job includes such things as measuring, photographing, sketching, and searching the crime scene, as well as identifying, collecting, examining, and processing physical evidence. In addition, a detective questions victims, witnesses, and suspects. They record all statements and observations in their notes. All aspects of the preliminary investigation are ... There are many types of logical fallacies such as the appeal to pity. What is the appeal to pity? The appeal to pity is where an arguer tries to get people to accept a conclusion by making them feel sorry for someone. In the play Death of a Salesman, playwright Arthur Miller uses many logical fallacies, the appeal to pity being the most frequently seen throughout the play. • 4. Segu Analysis The author Maryse Conde has based the story of Segu on real life events and practices of the late 18th and early 19th century. The author has tried to bring out the tensions that existed in Africa at that time by using the four brothers of the Traore family,Tiekoro, Siga, Naba and Malobali as scapegoats. She talks about each of these characters in depth to show us their influences on the city. She shows how traditional religion and Islam impact each character in the story. The traditional religion practiced by the Bambara people revolved around worshipping their ancestors. On his return, although Tiekoro was still a Bambara, he dressed like a Muslim he wore loose robes, had his head cleanly shaven and he didn t adorn himself with jewelry, jewelry that was quite common among men of Bambara he no longer desired the physical presence of a woman in his bed and he also stopped practicing the traditional religion of the Bambara. His faith now had only permitted him to believe in one god. He would be considered an infidel if he did not stick to one religion. He would take off his cowhide sandals and submit and bow down to pray to his God five times a day. He wanted to spread the words of Islam all throughout Segu. He wished to give his people the power to read and write, the power to change their lives and submit to a peaceful religion that didn t require them to perform any sinister sacrifices. He did this by opening a koranic school with his own house. Too much surprise, Tieokoro s Islamic school had a number of pupils, pupils coming from all the rich families of Segu. Even, the Mansa himself decided to send his children to the Koranic school. This action not only amazed the Bambara people but it also amazed the Traore family who were close to the king. • 5. The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to others some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we assume others are doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of communication. And, sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize about a whole group . When you put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you missing out on good situations and even better people. On the other hand, you could also get yourself into trouble by assuming the best of an entire group based on one experience with one or two people involved. Last year, I made an unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the workplace. Previous administration had left it to the bookkeeper to know when an employee left during the work day. I let the bookkeeper know I had to leave for an hour or so, but didn t let my administration know. It was during state testing week and we were not supposed to leave the school. • 7. Behavioral Aspects of Project Management Behavioral Aspects of Project Management Project management is much more than creating a work breakdown structure and tracking a plan. The hardest part for many is the personal side of project management. In this paper, we will explore how the organizational culture of a company and basic human behavior influence the success or failure of projects. In conducting this exploration, we will envision ourselves in the following scenario, and address the issues presented. The higher the saboteur scores on the power meter the greater the chance that the project will fail, but no matter what the case a good project manager finds a way to get things done. Does project leadership play a role? Leadership also plays a part in managing successful projects. On the rare occasions when projects run relatively smoothly, the project manager need only manage the process. However, projects seldom proceed down the WBS path as originally planned. Project managers often have to deviate from what was originally planned and introduce changes in the project scope and schedule to respond to unforeseen threats or opportunities. These changes often require the project manager to do more than simply manage, they require him to step in and lead. That leadership usually involves recognizing and articulating the need to significantly alter the direction and operation of the project. It also means aligning people to the new direction and motivating them to work together to overcome hurdles produced by the change in order to realize the new objectives. Does this role change under duress? In a situation like the scenario we are discussing, leadership skills, combined with a more assertive use of the standard interpersonal project management skills, would need to be put into play. There is an immediate need to gain the trust of the project team members. They need to feel that they can trust that the new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Out of the five career strategy components, the two that stood out for me were extending experiences and networking/connecting. Reflecting on my educational and professional career, these two themes have been the most relevant. Extending experiences When I graduated from UC Santa Barbara (UCSB), I expected to get a job within the month. I believed that by simply having my degree I would stand out from the group, little did I know this was completely false. I had a resume with little experience and realized it was my lack of previous experiences that would haunt me. In addition to having little experience, I never visited a career counselor at UCSB to assist me with the proper structure of a resume and cover letter. Feeling unprepared and disappointed at myself about how I used my time while at UCSB, I fell into a minor depression. After every denial email from employers, my depression grew. However, it was one experience that truly shaped my job search perception. I applied to any and every job in the market and got the opportunity to interview for AT T for a clerk position. Plutarch (Caes. 15). Being sold into slavery was mostly the cause of piracy. In the years before 167 BC the people on the island of Rhodes ensured safe passage through the eastern Mediterranean, however once the Romans destroyed the Rhodian fleet, pirates were given the opportunity to attack whoever they chose, resulting in a plentiful supply of cheap slaves to be sold. Response to His Coy Mistress Essay Response to His Coy Mistress Andrew Marvell s To His Coy Mistress is the charming depiction of a man who has seemingly been working very hard at seducing his mistress. Owing to Marvell s use of the word coy, we have a clear picture of the kind of woman his mistress is. She has been encouraging his advances to a certain point, but then when he gets too close, she backs off, and resists those same advances. Evidently, this has been going on for quite some time, as Marvell now feels it necessary to broach the topic in this poem. These lines seem a bit morbid, but I also sense the use of horror, on Marvell s part, to further convince his mistress to succumb to his affections. He is basically telling her that if she continues to resist him, it will be the worms that remove her virginity from her, as opposed to someone who really cares about her, namely him. He also reminds her that the honor that she is clinging to so tightly to will mean nothing when worms know her intimately. Further, his feelings for her will be utterly gone. The second stanza ends with these lines, my favorite: The grave s a fine and private place, / But none I think do there embrace. This ironic statement provides the crowning argument: Marvell has just described a love that would be timeless if such a thing were allowed. With a love such as this how can they let time slip through their fingers, and justify it? This also provides the second, and perhaps more important theme in the poem. The message is that the lovers, and consequently we who read the poem, should use the time we have been given to the best of our advantage. • 22. Hydration Of Norbornene This report concerns the acid catalyzed hydration of norbornene to produce exo norborneol. Such hydration reactions of alkenes typically occur under acidic conditions so that a strong enough electrophile is available in solution for the nucleophilic double bond on the alkene to successfully attack it. This is to say, that if this reaction is done in water, with the hydrogen as the electrophile, the O H bond is too strong for the double bond to effectively attack the hydrogen and detach it. If instead H3O+ is available in acidic conditions, the extra proton attached to the molecule is the electrophile; this electrophile is strong enough for the reaction to proceed. After the double bond attacks the hydrogen, a carbocation forms as the proton attaches to the least substituted carbon of the ones participating in the double bond. This happens because this allows the more stable carbocation to form, as the positive charge would then exist on the more substituted carbon. The functional groups attached to this carbocation donate their electron density to it, thus stabilizing it. This overall effect is often called the Markovnikov rule. However, in this case the two carbons that are connected to each other by the double bond are the same in terms of how substituted they are, and the hydrogen can bond to either of them and still yield the same product. The resulting carbocation can then be attacked by a water molecule. In theory, water can either attack from the top or bottom ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The exit is confirmed after a referendum was held and passed nationally where the count of votes to exit was higher than to remain in the European Union. An exit from the EU is a first of its kind and will create a high degree of fluctuations in the economy especially during the process of withdrawal. This will nonetheless disrupt the European Commission s Capital Markets Union (CMU) plan which is what this paper is about. The European Commissions introduced CMU to integrate capitals throughout the EU allowing the European Commission to mobilize funds in attempt to build a more efficient Single Market. UK s exit will likely have negative impacts on the CMU s plan since there will have to be restructuring of the plan depending on the negotiations of exit between UK and the EU. • 27. Vladimir Lenin And The Soviet Revolution Vladimir Lenin has proven to be a difficult figure to place in history. Some choose to view him as one of the most influential political leaders in history, while others allow him to fade off into the past. Lenin s image also greatly depends on where one lives. In the western half of the world, Lenin is viewed as a man of destruction, and Winston Churchill called him The Grand Repudiator. In other parts of the world, he is viewed as a man who tried to make the best out of a failing situation. Lenin was a revolutionary intellectual who establish the Bolshevik Party (later renamed the Communist Party). He was the leader of the Bolshevik Revolution, and, therefore, began the first government of the Soviet Union. Lenin became leader of the USSR in 1922 and ruled until his death in 1924, when Joseph Stalin assumed power. Though many argue that Lenin started one of the worst governments in history, Russian Communism, Lenin actually provided a solution for the troubling times in Russia. In the 1890, Lenin quit his job as a lawyer and moved to St. Petersburg where he became involved with a group of radicals that supported the ideas of Karl Marx. In 1903 at the Second Congress of the Russian Social Democratic Labor Party (RSDLP), Lenin and his fellow radicals argued for the development of a new political party that was tight knit and limited in number. This party would be highly involved in organizational work. Later in 1904 1905 when Russia went to war with Japan, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Analysis Of The Poem Adair Billy Adair Billy is quite connected to her Indian identity, although it does not seem like it. She lives in New Orleans, Louisiana, working as a stockbroker for a large firm, where she is highly sought after and praised for her abilities. She made a name for herself there by saving many clients a lot of money, she woke up to a voice telling her about a company that was not doing well. She removed her clients from the firm going under, many believing that it was her Native upbringing, and they are not wrong. In addition to this, Adair has a strong interest in early Indian commerce and relations within New Orleans. This causes her to believe that her job as a stockbroker is connected to her Indian identity, the narrator saying, Adair tells herself she s following a tradition established by her ancestors. After all, Indians were the first commodity traders of the New World (Howe 42). She has found a way to incorporate her background into her life, even though she is not living in Durant, Oklahoma anymore. Her Indian identity is present within her career and interests, different from the way Auda s is present, and different from the way Tema Billy s is as well. Tema Billy no longer lives in Durant, but is close by in Dallas, Texas. Tema is an artist of all kinds; she first worked with the American Indian dance company and made the move to New York City. She worked odd jobs and eventually took up acting, playing roles as a Spanish, Greek, and Italian woman. She then has a son with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Speciation And Evolution Of Cichlids Speciation and Evolution of Cichlids in East Africa Dr. Hoeh WIC Matthew S. Holcomb March 2, 2015 Introduction The East African cichlids are a rather interesting and diverse group of fish, and have caught the eye of many scientists particularly because of the speed, diversity, and convergent patterns of their radiation (Yong Hwee et al. 2012). For instance, there are 500+ species in just one lake, Lake Victoria, and an estimated 2,000+ species in total. The fish in lake Victoria, which is estimated to be 100,000 400,000 years old or less and to have suffered a complete drought only 14,600 years ago, are an amazing example of just how quickly these fish have diversified (Rijssel et al. 2014). She was always pushing Sam to better himself by moving up the bureaucratic ladder. This is something that did not interest Sam, in any way, as he was already fed up with his job and was looking for any excuse to escape this reality. • 32. Argumentative Essay On Human Cloning Human cloning is threatening our society. Yes it has benefits but with these benefits there s a risk. First and foremost i disagree with cloning because, it hasn t developed yet and it can take a lot of tries before getting a human being to this earth. On the other hand, animals have been cloned since the beginning of this technology. They have a 70% chance of being born safely but that is not the same for humans the percentage to clone a human is 20% to 40% which is not even past birth. There has been a lot of failure on cloning but maybe one day it will be perfected. But over the years cloning has increased at a more stable rate. This new cloning technology can really wrong because, you re basically make a robot just in a human form factor. One good thing about cloning is that they can clone certain organ cells and damaged tissue. But to do something like that it s 50,000 dollars which only certain people can afford. That s why is not extremely common to hear someone say that they have cloned a tissue or an organ. However cloning is not cheap it s expensive but is it worth it? Favorably, it all depends on what you would like to clone and does it have a value to your day to day life. Supposing that you want to clone your dog or cat the estimated price is from 25,000 thousand dollars and it can reach higher pricing. People who have the money to do these sort of things must have been with that pet for a long time and that pet means a lot to them. However when you re cloning a pet yes they are going to have the same characteristics as the one who passed away. Although it won t feel the same as having your original pet. In my opinion people are doing this because it s an outlet for them to forget how their pet and pretend like it s still there with them. Part of these people don t even think on what they are doing because they are so inlove with their animals. They should really think about cloning pets and them make a decision. But if it means a lot to them then they should do it at there own risk. Know in an article named What happened to cloning? The plot revolves around Charlie spontaneously kidnapping him from a mental hospital and taking his brother on a bizarre journey of self discovery, culture and self awareness, with the goal of seeking his late father s inheritance. The director, Barry Levinson who makes a cameo as Raymond s psychiatrist is now less famous for writing (as well as directing) political satire and sci fi films such as Man of the Year, starring Robin Williams and The Bay, featuring Kether Donohue (Scott, 2012). Whilst tackling serious issues such as mental health, and adding a little comedy as well, Rain Man has truly left a legacy for the American and global film industry. One of the fanatically portrayed themes in the film is disability and the way the director uses minor characters as props to communicate how society perceived disabled people in the 1980s. For example, a bar maid, Sally suggests that Ray is a very clever boy . This is significant because she is the only minor character who treats Ray with respect and sympathy, in contrast to Charlie who evidently abuses it. This phrase means that for the rest of your life you will suffer with loneliness if you don t follow his commands. Herrick s poem is in an ordered structure and has an alternate rhyming rhythm that makes the poem more commanding. The lack of imagery in this poem gives it a more uneasy and blunt mood. The pace of the rhythm in this poem is quick which links in with the expressing of fast time and adds to the effect of a threatening poem. This poem suggests to me that maybe he is desperate so he uses the persuasion accordingly. This poem compares well to Of Beauty by Richard Fanshawe because both of the poems are in an ordering mood and have a positive and negative part of the stanza s. It also compares well to To his coy mistress by Andrew Marvell. Both of the poems are arguing that time is running out so let me love you now while we have the time.
