PERSPECTIVE DRAWING
building & town planning
Necessity of perspective drawings
• The perspective drawing is very helpful for the
all types of drawing because of it is closely
approximate view from the human eyes.
• This will required for two agencies…
1. Architect or planner
2. Clients or owner of property.
Technical terms for drawings…
Elements of Perspective drawings…
• For understanding the perspective drawing
following definitions will be most essential.
• Ground line :- The line which is represent the
ground level on which the observer is standing
and meeting place of picture plane and ground.
Station point
• Station point :- it is the point from where the
observer is looking at the building. It is always
in the front of building as well as of picture
plane. The size and shape of the perspective
view of building largely depends upon the
position of station point.
Vanishing point (VP)
• The topical characteristics feature of a
perspective drawing is the vanishing of all
parallel lines of object to a point at infinite
distance.
• The point at which a parallel lines of the object
was inclined to the picture plane and appears at
that points is known as VP.
Picture plane
• It is a imaginary transparent plane between
building and observer on which the image of the
building is projected and perspective is drawn.
