Cerebral palsy is a non-progressive neurological condition caused by damage to the developing brain that results in loss of muscle control and movement. There are three main types of cerebral palsy: spastic, which causes stiff movement; athetoid, characterized by involuntary movement; and ataxic, affecting balance and depth perception. Depending on the area of brain damage, people with cerebral palsy may experience muscle tightness, abnormal gait, seizures, and other issues. While there is no cure, medications, exercise, and adaptive equipment can help manage symptoms.

Therapeutic Technique to improve neck holding in cerebral palsy jitendra jain
Head control is the first motor milestone to be achieved in early life. Good head control lays the foundation for the development and refinement of other milestones. It also enables the child to explore the environment effectively in play and to develop more advanced skills. Thus attaining head control is frequently used as the starting point in therapeutic intervention for the children with cerebral palsy or other developmental disabilities by the pediatric occupational therapist. It also very important to have good neck control before the age of two year because if child dont develop good neck vontrol before the age of two year then developemnent of ambulatory capability in child became remote pssiblity.

It is very important to implement barrier free environment at all public & private places/ commercial & non commercial places for easy mobility and transfer of person affected with any kind of disability. this presentation give you some guideline in creating barrier free environment in constructing building, home, parking areas.

Institute for Child Development (ICD) is a private company registered under section 25 of company registration act, 1956. ICD is the brain child of Dr. Mansoor Alam, a pediatric developmental specialist who has treated more than 50,000 children with special needs during the last 25 years. ICD is a premier organization which provides the best treatment to children with complex health issues, developmental delay, neurodevelopmental disorders and childhood onset disabilities. ICD’s facility is available to children from birth to 21 years of age. Adult with disabilities are specially supported in case of need. ICD is the only organization in India which practices integrated approach of treatment, named as Multimodal treatment / Combination Therapy for children with developmental disorders. Combination Therapy combines the best available treatments into one treatment plan to get the best result. Researches have proved that combination therapy is better than isolated therapy. In fact, pediatric developmental disorders cannot be treated in isolation. It requires a team of professionals with varied specialization.
Presently ICD has its model centre named as “PediaMed” in Malviya Nagar (South Delhi), New Delhi. The model centre has capacity to treat 100 children in daily basis.
ICD is going to have its branches in the following places
North Delhi
West Delhi
East Delhi
Noida ( UP)
Ghaziabad (UP)
Faridabad (Haryana)
Gurugram /Gurgaon (Haryana)
Bahadurgarh (Haryana)
ICD is open to collaborate with other organizations with similar interests in rest of India

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. 2. Overview “Cerebral” : brain “Palsy” : disorder of movement or posture Condition where damage to certain areas of the brain result in loss of muscle control and movement Non-progressive and non-contagious Developmental disability Can occur before, at, or soon after birth
3.
4. Key Components 3 Main Types of Cerebral Palsy: Spastic Stiff and difficult movement (scissor gait) Most common form Athetoid Involuntary and uncontrolled movement Second most common Effected part of brain: Basal Ganglia Ataxic Disturbed sense of balance and depth perception Effected part of brain: cerebellum Mixed There can exist a combination of these types of CP for any one person
5.
6. Signs / Symptoms Depending on which areas of the brain have been damaged, someone with Cerebral Palsy may experience: Muscle tightness or spasms Involuntary movement Disturbance in gait and mobility Abnormal sensation and perception Impairment of sight, hearing or speech Seizures

8. Causes Areas of the brain can be damaged during: Fetal development Infancy Before, during, or shortly following birth Often occurs due to brain damage from lack of oxygen before or during birth Neither progressive nor communicable
9. Medications Tegretol, Dilantin and Phenobarbital Help control/prevent different types of seizures Diazepam, Baclofen, and Dantrolene Help reduce spasticity http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_UrwYzsp08&feature=relmfu ‘Diagnosis & Treatment : How to Treat Cerebral Palsy ‘
10. Benefit From Exercise Slow stretching, warm external temperature, and good positioning can help decrease the dynamic condition found with the Spasticity form of CP
11. Risk with Exercise Quick movements, cold external temperature, fatigue and emotional stress can increase a spastic dynamic condition Increased effort and emotional stress can increase the involuntary and/or uncontrolled movement (primarily in extremities) found in Athetoid CP Convulsive seizures may occur and significantly interfere in exercise; safety precautions must be taken Use adaptive equipment Straps and holding gloves
