Critically Evaluate the Management Model of Baumol
Under the traditional economic understanding, it is always assumed that profit maximization is treated
as the main goal or objective for businesses, subject to perfect knowledge, single entity and rational
logic. However, as illustrated by the principal agency problem, managers do not usually make rational
decision entirely like owners who take company interest as their sole basis for their decisions. Past
examples have shown that managers do take their own personal goals and satisfactions as
consideration in their decision making. In addition, information gathering is not always perfect as
managers do make decision by relying solely on the implicit knowledge gained from past experiences,
without referencing to the macro economic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As service providers, consistent and frequent service failure could prove to be fatal in term of their
survival and their long term brand reputation. Therefore it would make sense for telecommunication
firms to divert the peak hours traffic into non peak hours by using a price discrimination strategy which
segments the users based upon their willingness and abilities to pay. For instance, business users are
willing to pay higher price for peak hours usage due to their inelastic demand whereas in contrast,
leisure users demand is elastic and are willing to make call during off peak hours in return for lower
price. By adopting the price discrimination strategy, telecommunication firms are able to maximize
sales revenue during peak and off peak hours by balancing the air time traffic based upon different
market segment of users. At this point, it is also noticeable that one of the characteristics of Baumol
firms lies in the perishable products/services offered which cannot be inventoried. The loss sale of the
day on the unutilized capacity/outputs is an opportunity cost to the firms. Baumol model is not only
applicable to huge/large corporations, but also to small retailers like bakery shop or wet market, which
explains the reason why some bakery shops offer a special discount one

People Face Trade Courses Essay
People Face Trade Offs
In this assignment, it is evident that I have only one semester left to graduate and I have enough
finances to do a maximum of four courses. Three of the courses are required courses and the last
course slot is elective. I will have to narrow down my choices to three electives and based on two
economic decision making principles, I will provide and support my choice.
To begin with, in the scenario, I have three different courses and I have to select one. The three courses
include business management, mathematics, and economics. These courses provide and include
different benefits and disadvantages and my choice should predict high benefits and incentives. There
are various jobs related to mathematics such as high school math teacher, market research analysis, and
inventory control specialist. Pursuing mathematics will also improve my arithmetic skills. However,
mathematics is very complex and will require a lot of time.
On the other hand, economics degree course provides a range of advantages as well as disadvantages.
For example, after pursuing the economic course, I will work either as an accountant or as financial
analysts as well as investment analysts and statistician. Economics course will provide me with the
opportunity to learn new investment skills, capital management and ability to analyze economic trends
and patterns. Despite this, economics is a very complex and demanding course. In addition, economics
mostly involves tiresome work

Theme Of Love In La Belle Dame Sans Merci
Bitter. Sweet. Tender. Love. This subjective idea may refer to a concept, a feeling, an attitude, an
emotion, one could have towards another. Throughout history, one s perception on love may vary due
to the ideology they were being indoctrinated with as well as their family background. Given that
different historical periods may affect one s perception on their idea of love, an analysis on the poems
La Belle Dame sans Merci by John Keats, My Last Duchess by Robert Browning, and Mother in a
Refugee Camp by Chinua Achebe, will be made in order to examine and explore how poets living in
different times present love in their own unique approach.
La Belle Dame sans Merci is a ballad written by English poet John Keats in the year 1819, where ...

When the knight and the woman was having a sexual intercourse, She looked at him as she did love, /
And made sweet moan The declarative, she looked at him as she did love expresses the idea of
unrequited love. The woman may have only decided upon having a sexual intercourse with him to
favour his sexual desires, yet it does not represent that she has an affection for him. On the other hand
an iambic tetrameter is also used in the same quotation as a motif of the knight s heartbeat, this
represents the excitement and passionate emotions he has within the relationship and sexual
intercourse. A sense of negativity can be seen in the line And made sweet moan , the iambic dimeter in
this line has a foreboding effect to it, hinting that love between the woman and the knight will not last
long. Likewise to La Belle Dame sans Merci , Keats short poem The day is gone, and all its sweets are
gone! also signifies his role in the Romanticism movement by the reinforcement of his individual
expression and obsessive nature towards his lover Fanny Brawne. This is evident when Keats display
the sincere and direct emotions of himself in the title The day is gone, and all its sweets are gone! The
dependent clause, and all its sweets are gone is a metaphor that the sweetness of their relationship has
disappeared due to the distance between Keats and Brawne. This metaphor can be likened to La Belle
Dame sans Merci through the knight s loneliness and sentimental emotions when he waits for the
woman he loves. The intensifier all reinforces Keats desires to see Brawne, not seeing her for a day
does not only signify the loss of sweetness, but also marking the end of his day. He is eager to see
Brawne, and by not seeing her the sweetness of his day, the significance of his day has vanished,
disappeared. This poem can

Construction Essay
Is the construction project ruining the green areas or pathways? Does it require any roads to be
narrowed disturbing the smooth flow of the traffic? Does the project jeopardize any park, playground
or any such place of socializing and entertainment? These are some of the questions which must be
there in minds of the managers who are given the responsibility of constructing the project. how much
the contractors compromise on their initial design and plan for the project, and how much they are
going to be careful about not resulting in environmental pollution as well as not to violate an of such

On demolition of this farm house, the birds will become homeless and the oxygen production will be
decreased (Plant, 2004). This is a direct impact of this construction project on the environment. It must
be kept in mind that we are only considering the environmental factor and impacts here and we do not
have to mention the property rights of the owner of the farm house, has he been adequately
compensated and dealt with before the start of this project. We just assume that the owner of the farm
house has been dealt with considering all his rights and he is agreed to give away the rights and
authority of this farm house to the contractors of the new project. The demolition will not only cause
damage to the greenery of the neighborhood but also will enhance the pollution in the form of dust and
noise. This will impact the neighbors of the housing complex which is only one thousand feet away
from this project s site. The first activity which is to be expected to be done first is the clearance of
vegetation which is a direct damage to the environment. The agricultural value and output of this land
will be multiplied with zero once the vegetations will be cleared of the surface. 200 acre of the farm
land which this project has bought for the current project is a vast land and clear vegetation from it will
damage not only the view from the site but also will be a decrease in economy. The environmental plan

Maori Land March. . The Maori Land March Can Be Seen As
Maori Land March The Maori land march can be seen as one of the most symbolic and peaceful protest

A people who was a member of parliament who was one of the people who fought for Maori right
named Sir Apirana said I do not know of any year the Maori people have approached with so much
misgiving as this centennial year... what does the Maori see? land gone, the power of chiefs humbled in
the dust, Maori culture scattered and broken. 1 Sir Apirana said this back in 1940 when the New
Zealand Centennial exhibition they portrayed a picture of unity between the Maori and the
Pakeha(European New Zealanders) but this was false as the Maori s culture is being heavily trivialised
and being faced with official and unofficial discrimination. In the early 20th century different rangatira
(leader) from different iwi (tribe) started to appear to fight for Maori equality, even though the iwi have
different views and differences the leader band together to solve a common goal.

Wobbler Syndrome Summary
Critique of Scientific Articled The article I reviewed discussed a study of the body shape and alignment
in a breed of dogs called Great Danes. Some of the dogs had a disease called Cervical
Spondylomyelopathy, commonly known as Wobbler Syndrome or CSM, and some of them were
perfectly normal and healthy. The cause of this disease is unknown but many believe that it is a mix of
large breed dogs having a large and heavy head and long neck which can cause irregular forces on the
vertebrae of the neck. The study included 15 dogs with Wobblers and 15 dogs who had no clinical
signs of wobblers. In the beginning stages, wobblers causes dogs to have a funny, wobbly walk in their
back legs and they will seem extra clumsy. This study used MRI scans to determine that there were no
distinct differences in dogs with Wobbler Syndrome verses those who are healthy. This finding
disproved the original hypothesis that it is caused by a large head and long neck. ... Show more content

This study can help the scientific and veterinary communities to narrow down what does actually cause
CSM. I believe this study was conducted in a mostly correct manner; however, I would have liked for
them to include more than one single breed of dog. Also, body measurements were taken with a soft
fabric tape measure which could stretch over time leading to incorrect measurements. Overall, I
believe that this study was conducted in a manner which exemplifies the scientific method and was

Young And Immature In Shakespeare s Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet, the star crossed lovers , do not have real love at all (Shakespeare). They are too
young to have true love, instead it is just based off looks. If they are older they might understand what
love really is. Since they are young and immature they rush into decisions they make. They also take
drastic measures in the decisions and how to handle themselves. They are young and immature, and
this is why their story ends the way it does, in complete tragedy. Romeo loves with his eyes, but he
does not love with his heart. He is too immature to stay true to one girl if there is another girl that is
more beautiful. Romeo meets Juliet and says to Friar Laurence . . . my heart s dear love is set / On the
fair daughter of rich Capulet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Romeo tells Friar Laurence . . . but this i pray, / That thou consent to marry us today Friar knows
it is very immature, but only does it to possibly end the feud between the families (II, iii, 63 64). They
could be mature and wait things out to see if them loving each other would work, but instead they just
get married. If they would just wait to find a good time to maybe talk to their parents about it, that
would be the mature thing to do. Romeo also has immaturity not in love, but in revenge. After Tybalt
kills Mercutio, Romeo immaturely goes and gets Tybalt. Most of us would do this, but it is still
immature. Romeo should just wait for the Prince to give Tybalt his punishment and everything would
be fine. Instead Romeo goes and kills Tybalt, and puts his own life in jeopardy. If Romeo would be
mature and think about these things, the Prince would not banish him to Mantua and he could still see
Juliet and be with his

The Wrongful Conviction Of The Criminal Justice System
Since the late 1980s, there have been thousands of cases in which prime suspects have been wrongfully
convicted, the most common causes being eyewitness misidentification, incriminating statements, and
statements from informants. According to The Innocence Project, there have been almost four hundred
post conviction DNA exoneration cases in our country, and they are working to investigate even more
wrongful conviction cases. This life changing program, along with their six attorneys, gather
information about thousands of cases and determine whether or not DNA evidence can be reevaluated.
Kenneth Ireland s case was submitted for litigation after they found that the court relied heavily on
false statements from witnesses. Researchers working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rape kit evidence unfortunately found that it was impossible to find a match because the sample
came from a person who does not exhibit their blood type in their bodily fluids ( The Innocence
Project, n. d.), meaning that Ireland could not be immediately ruled out. Ireland ended up pleading
guilty of the crime, most likely to have a lesser sentence. The jury deliberated for three days over the
decision, most likely because not all of the evidence was consistent. Ireland s defense had just enough
information for a successful case, but the lack of more evidence in his favor and information about
other possible suspects lead the jury to make the devastating decision of sentencing him to fifty years
in prison ( The Innocence Project, n. d.). There were three charges against Ireland: felony murder, first
degree sexual assault, and third degree burglary.
In 1991, Ireland appealed the decision by providing two arguments: that the two witnesses were
informants and were being given a $20,000 reward to cover for another man, and that the court
prohibited his defense from exhibiting evidence about another possible suspect. Unfortunately, his
appeal was denied. The Innocence Project branch in Connecticut reviewed Ireland s case in 2007 and
with the improvement of DNA testing equipment, analysts confirmed that Ireland was not a match for
the suspect. The court found Kevin Benefield guilty of the

Essay On Pcr And Gel Electrophoresis
DNA is commonly used in the modern legal system to release the innocent or imprison the guilty.
There are two different ways to create DNA evidence through science technology, PCR and gel
electrophoresis. Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR, is used to create thousands to millions of copies of
DNA, out of a small piece of DNA, this piece is used to make a DNA profile. Doing this makes it
easier to test the DNA. PCR is used to find if a gene has pathogens. They are an infectious agent that
creates illness or disease and it s commonly a virus, parasite or bacteria. (1) Gel electrophoresis is the
technique used to separate molecules from DNA, RNA or proteins, based on the size or electric charge.
It can be used in DNA fingerprinting, the findings and purification of nucleic acids and proteins. Gel
electrophoresis can be used to find pathogens that can be found in blood, tissues or sources like food.
(2) These are some of the methods that are used in court and police cases to discover DNA.
The process of PCR has 3 steps that repeat in cycles shown in image 1. The first one is the separation
of the two strands of the DNA molecule. This happens by the initial material being heated to 95 °C.

Gene probes glow under UV light and have a fluorescent chemical attached to a short section of single
stranded DNA. The chemical is then added to a DNA strand which contains a complimentary base
sequence to a gene responsible for coding for a particular disease, such as cystic fibrosis. If the gene
that is being looked for is present, then the gene probe will fix to it as it has the same complimentary
base sequence. Once the gel is under UV light it will glow where the gene is present showing that the
specific sequence is in the DNA tested. (5) Gel electrophoresis can be used to create a DNA profile for

Trickster In Othello
The Trickster in Two Cultures Across many cultural stories and myths clear character archetypes
emerge. One such archetype is the trickster. They are often characterized by playing pranks and
manipulating the people around him. Two specific examples of the trickster are Iago in Othello and
Loki from Norse mythology. In their respective stories these two characters are astonishingly similar.
There are of course some differences between two, but the similarities they have allow for clear
correlations to be drawn. This could have implication of cultural sharing between England and Norse
countries. Both Iago and Loki are strikingly similar in their roles as the trickster. Iago as a character is
both manipulative and malicious. In Othello Iago ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both in Norse culture and Elizabethan England, honesty and integrity were very important keystones
for the role of a man. Men in Norse cultures were fighters and protectors without their honor or
integrity they wouldn t be respected. The same applied to the English though in a less violent way. Iago
and Loki, then, symbolize the antithesis of these ideals. Instead of honesty and integrity they lie to their
friends and demean women. Their place as foils to Othello and Thor leave them without any character
beyond their negative traits. For a play written by Shakespeare this is odd, as most characters have
ample development possesing both vices and virtues. Iago is more like the Norse depiction of Loki, a
being of evil and mischief, than one of Shakespeare s characters. This could be an indication that either
Shakespeare took inspiration from the Norse people or that the same values existed in England at the
time. The duo could have similar cultural origins in addition to the litany of their other

TEXT INTERPRETATION AND ANALYSIS
The purpose of Text Interpretation and Analysis is a literary and linguistic commentary in which the
reader explains what the text reveals under close examination. Any literary work is unique. It is created
by the author in accordance with his vision and is permeated with his idea of the world. The reader s
interpretation is also highly individual and depends to a great extent on his knowledge and personal
experience. That s why one cannot lay down a fixed model for a piece of critical appreciation.

be accomplished in a single sentence or paragraph, or, in the case of some novels, occupy an entire

Syrian Refugees Should Be Banned
Why should I as an African American be alarmed by the Muslim Ban or welcome the Syrian Refugees

if that was the case would these Muslim majority countries accept us African Americans? Keep in
mind that the United States is not the only country that has rejected refugees from Syria in recent years.
Numerous countries in Europe and the Middle East have refused to accept what would undoubtedly

Artificial Intelligence ( Ai )
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is portrayed in many science fiction films such as I, robot, The Terminator,
Ex Machina, etc., or novels as the future that holds evil in our society. Engineers all over the world are
currently developing and making AI a reality. I know that my major is involved with the project
intending to bring AI into reality which is interesting, but it still has me wondering if this is a good
idea. I imagine AI as the future such that we will have them at school, in our house and even our
workplace. It is a possibility that AI will be used to help students and professors by solving critical
equations faster than ever or helping them out in the subjects they are struggling with. They can help
clean around the house and neighborhood, implement future ideas to companies, and even join the
police force to stop crime. They do not necessarily need arms, legs, or eyes to commit such actions. As
a Computer Engineer, I believe that AI will have the capability to protect and serve us, but if they are
given the freedom to think and act, then they can also harm us. I assume the engineers working with
AI, will program them to restrict actions that can harm this society and inspect them weekly to
accomplish this restriction. We should keep an open mind towards any consequences and benefits AI
may bring to this world. I can see drones roaming around freely while having the task to protect us,

How Technology Has Changed Us
Technology has evolved rapidly in previous years, making the completion of task more convenient. In
order to effectively highlight convenience to consumers, data security must come into consideration.
The transition from swipe/PIN cards to contactless has introduced yet also removed security issues.
Swipe cards use a magnetic stripe containing the necessary banking details, found on the back of the
card. These types of swipe cards are outdated and have been upgraded with chips, which provide better
security of data through complex encryption. The widely accepted method of two factor authentication
utilises this chip as well as a PIN that the card owner knows which strengthens the security design.
Contactless cards have an embedded RFID chip having similar functionality to those found commonly
in PIN/Swipe chip cards. These chips emit radio waves instead of requiring the user to dip/swipe their
card. The card is placed near an electromagnetic field emitted by a card reading terminal allowing the
transfer of encrypted data to authenticate the transaction. Compared to contactless cards, magnetic
stripe swipe cards can be easily exploited as the information stored on the magnetic stripe is static.
This means it can be cloned onto a fake card, giving it the same credentials and allowing unauthorised
use. The low level of security of magnetic stripe swipe cards is also highlighted by the fact that the
user merely has to sign after the transaction. Whereas the chip found in PIN

Analysis Of The United States Is Responsible For A Film...
Bivariate Analysis
The United States is responsible for a film industry that is forever expanding and making a world of
difference to films being screened worldwide. Primarily there are two types of films that a studio will
choose to produce. The first being a blockbuster film which is defined as a very popular or successful,
usually big budget production. Blockbuster films are generically very popular with the public and
captivate the audience. The public become invested in these movies through the advertising of the film
and have a strong inclination to watch the film when they re released. Their intention as defined by

The Oil And Natural Gas Industries
Around the globe, the oil and natural gas industries are a major part of stable and growing economies,
as well as, the individual lives of most people. As individuals we use it to run our vehicles, heat our
homes, cook, and much more. Economies, on the other hand, rely on the oil and natural gas industries
for the jobs they create, the product they supply, and the added value created by government revenues.
In 2011, these industries in the United States made up 5.6 percent of the nation s total employment,
providing $394 billion in labor income (6 15, American Petroleum Institute). They also contributed an
estimated $410.3 billion to the nation s economy through wages, capital spending, and dividends
totaling 7.1 percent of the United States gross domestic product (GDP) (25 26, American Petroleum
Institute). Those percentages may not seem like much alone, but when you consider that one industry,
out of hundreds in the United States, makes up those numbers, they seem a lot larger. During the 1990
s, oil and natural gas production had hit a snag spreading worry that the U.S. would become reliant on
foreign imports (Inman). One of the world s leading countries in the industry were beginning to fear
the end of a resource that they relied so heavily on.
As traditional oil and gas endeavors began depleting their resources the oil and natural gas industries
were forced to find a new source of extraction if they were to continue producing fossil fuels at the
same rate. This new

British Imperialism And Symbolism In Jane Eyre
Scottish author, Christopher North (also known as John Wilson) once said, His Majesty s dominions,
on which the sun never sets in reference to the large span of territory occupied by the British Empire.
At the height of its power, Great Britain held territory on all of the seven continents and ruled over
about one fourth of the world s population. A map of the British Empire in the 19th century published
by the History of England shows that Great Britain occupied areas such as Canada, Australia, Egypt,
South Africa, modern day India, Honduras, and many other lands. The primary purpose of British
imperialism was to acquire as much foreign territory as possible in order to gain abundant amounts of
raw materials and to create a market for British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The powerful male roles, such as Edward Rochester, seen throughout the novel represent Great Britain,
while the weaker female roles, such as Bertha Mason, represent the imperialized countries. In chapter
14 of Jane Eyre, Mr. Rochester demonstrates his assertive dominance to Jane when he asks, Do you
agree with me that I have a right to be a little masterful, abrupt, perhaps exacting, sometimes, on the
grounds I stated, namely, that I am old enough to be your father, and that I have battled through a
varied experience with many men of many nations, and roamed over half the globe (Brontë 152).
Rochester demonstrates the power of Great Britain here by claiming that he has the given right to take
control and be the ruling figure just like Great Britain did to weaker countries. Bertha Mason parallels
the countries being colonized because she is depicted as weak and someone who needs to be isolated
and controlled. In Reader, I Buried Him : Apocalypse and Empire in Jane Eyre. , Tracy agrees that
many critics rightly place Bertha at the centre of the novel s signifying systems, since social, cultural,
imperial, and religious concerns are encoded in her relationship with Rochester . This becomes evident
in chapter 26 of Jane Eyre when Rochester is explaining Bertha s character to Jane. Rochester states
that Bertha Mason is mad; she came of a mad family; idiots and maniacs through three

How Samoan students cultural practices inhibit their involvement/participation in mathematical
problem solving 1. Background/setting the stage There are seven ages of Man said William
Shakespeare and it is not difficult to say that Man faces seventy problems in each of these ages.
However, just as it is natural to develop immunity against viruses, Man also learns and develops
several skills while facing these difficulties one of the classes of skills being analytical, logical, and
decision making and in more general, problem solving. The importance of problem solving can t be
emphasized enough as be it small or big, be it personal or professional, we face problems day in day
out and we wish to fix them. One powerful way of enabling Man to learn these skills is through
Mathematics. Several academicians would like to put it as Mathematical processes acknowledging that
if Mathematics refers to armory of concepts, the real deal is the process of using relevant tools out of
the kit to solve problems. Literature on problem solving in mathematics also has discussed exclusively
the need to teach students to reason mathematically 2. State your aim: Also how culture leaves a deep
impact on students learning abilities especially mathematical problem solving is the main discussion of
this paper. In structuring this essay, firstly I would like to emphasize on how Samoan cultural
expectation has its impact on learning of mathematical processes like problem solving.

Conflict Is The Cause Of Conflict
Religion, socio economic problems, land problems etc. are the main reasons that lead to conflict. But,
recent study has come to show that an integral cause of conflict is a lack of resources; whether in a
country, village, or even a business. Resources such as time, money and equipment are often scarce.
Looking from a business perspective, when a certain group of employees get access to resources that
others do not, conflict may arise among employees or between employees and management. And now
a days, even a lack of vital natural resources are leading to conflicts. Managing conflicts and disputes
that are related to natural resources is more critical than ever before. As economy and population

California Government Structure Essay
Structure of California s Government
Headed by the governor of the state, the state govt. of CA replicates the Federal govt. It has three
branches that perform their assigned tasks and keep within the limits set by the constitution. These
branches are:
Legislature
Executive
Judiciary
While this division has been created to give structure to the government and ensure its smooth and
effective functioning, there is, more importantly, the need to keep the power of the branches in check
and to make them accountable to each other. There is a system of checks and balances that comes into
play with this segregation of duties and separation of power. This system s inception has been
attributed to Montesquieu. (Wikipedia.org)

essence for the audience to appreciate the detailed fashion in which Obama will go on to explain the
effects of Osama Bin Laden, America s actions, the assassination, and the important distinguishing of
Islam and Pakistan from Al Qaeda. Obama is very profound for his use of emotive language; in this
speech, he exemplifies this immediately. His use of antitheses opens with, a bright September day was

He raises his voice with hints of anger when explaining how Al Qaeda was committed to killing

them to accept the justifying the war. Barrack Obama later adds that they, removed the Taliban
Government which seemingly suggests the Americans did what they did nicely, as opposed to killing
and torturing many of them, which they probably did. Obama then attempts to give good reason for his
point, again, by adding that the Taliban Government had given safe haven and support to Al Qaeda.
This justification convinces the American population that what their army was doing necessary as well

initially made obvious when he switches from his habitual collective pronouns to speaking in first

of soaking up all the credit, indenting his mark in the history of the USA. He goes on to explain how it

Most Efficient Method Of Quantifying Radioactive Strontium
Summary This report, Most Efficient Method of Quantifying Radioactive Strontium , determines what
the most efficient method is for quantifying radioactive strontium when analyzing samples for
radioisotopes of strontium, specifically Sr 89 and Sr 90. The analysis was performed from information
collected by studying journal articles, recalling personal experiences at work, and reading textbooks
about the different types of particle detectors. Information collected from the referenced sources and
personal experience show that the Cherenkov counting method is the most efficient method for Sr 89
determination and the proportional counting method is the most efficient method for Sr 90
determination. The report finds that proportional counting is the best method for Sr 90 determination,
Cherenkov counting is the best method for Sr 89 determination and a method that incorporates
different detectors is the most efficient method. It is recommended for an analytical laboratory to
always first use Cherenkov counting or proportional counting for strontium analysis. It is also
recommended to create technical work instructions for a multi detector method that is updated every 6

Unit 30 Digital Graphics Assignment
Unit 30 Digital Graphics Assignment Task 1 (A) Graphics Card A graphics card is a component of a
computer system that helps to generate an image on the computer screen. Graphics cards are connected
between the CPU and the screen in a computer system in order to provide the user with a clear image
on the screen, a graphics card has its own RAM and its own Graphics Processor, and this means that it
does not rely on the CPU to provide the entire RAM for the computer system. The inclusion of RAM
into the graphics card means that the card will take care of most of the graphics processing allowing
the computers RAM to do other jobs and do them more efficiently. The information process begins in
the CPU where it sends information about the image to the graphics card; the graphics card decides
how to use the pixels to create the image on the screen. There are different types of graphics card
available and some are better than others.. A good quality graphics card produces smoother video and
graphics playback and sharper pictures. A good graphics card can mean a faster refresh rate so if
working with photos you can display them quicker and have better colour resolution. A graphics card
can be used where it can produce high definition gameplay and also enable dual display and even use a
television screen as a monitor through the use of a HDMI cable. High end graphics cards can be

To further examine the book s worth as a historical guide it is important to note the great details
described in terms of process and specifications of the late Arrow. Peden captures a multitude of
statistics and draws on technical background making his book an excellent source for facts and figures.
Moreover the book explains much of the technical focus of the Arrow project detractors, for this takes
up the larger portion of his case. In the event that one should need to back up concepts and theories
regarding the Arrow project and the surrounding political and economic affairs, Peden provides an
extremely valuable source. There is much to be mentioned in terms of the people who drove the
project, engineers, cooperative Americans who s resources made much of the project viable, and the
leadership of Crawford Gordon. Unfortunately this source is skimpy on the preceding variables,
compromising it s historic worth in terms of key personalities. It would be this papers contention that
Peden s work is an excellent source for the enhancement and crystallization of prior knowledge on the

the political and decision making process observed throughout the period of the 1956 58, may be
oversimplified in Peden s case

In this case, you should always perform regular maintenance check ups on your car. After all, it is more

The Importance Of STEM Education
The importance of transforming STEM teacher s professional development (PD) for the middle school
is central to the standard based transformation of STEM education and knowledge based competition
of the global economy. Because the knowledge based competition of the 21st century economy
depends on the competitiveness of STEM education, improvement of STEM education is a national
call. In addition, the needs for improvements in K 12 science education align with the needs for
improvement in science teacher s PD. STEM jobs require higher creativity and innovation, thus STEM
teachers and educational leaders are expected to encourage creativity and innovation in student
learning regardless of barriers. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to overcome all barriers in order to
foster active learning by students (Michael, 2007). In general, STEM education requires teacher s
creativity and flexibility. This urges rethinking of the education leaders and researchers about
identifying effective professional development for STEM teachers.
STEM teacher s professional development is becoming much more important than ever for mainly
three reasons. First, according to recent U.S. Bureau of labor statics, STEM jobs are growing faster
than any other U.S. sector estimated increase by 17% by 2024. Giant technology companies alone need
to fill more than 650,000 new jobs by 2018. Nevertheless, U.S. lags by STEM workforce. Students

Organizational Change Activities
Organizational Change Activities Change activities are healthy for an organization. They keep it up to

for a change within the organizational culture. External evolutions of technological and cultural factors

keep an organization healthy. Organizations engage in change activities for a wide number of reasons.
Overall, the main reason is to increase the overall success of the organization, whether it is the

activities to improve the ability of the organization to adapt to changes in the environment and to
change employee behavior (Robbins Judge, 2008, p 412). External factors can cause an organization to
need to revamp its internal strategies. Thus, external factors hold a powerful role in why an
organization would need to change. Additionally, organizational culture can have a place in causing a

A Native Conformation Of Protein And Aggregation Of Proteins
A native conformation of protein is only marginally stable than unfolded states, and most of proteins
are prone to aggregate in liquid state to form non native supra structures. The loss of unique globular
structures and aggregation of proteins are problematic in biopharmaceutical formulations due to the
reduction of therapeutic potency and the possibility of inducing undesired immune responses[1]. For
several decades, it has been pursued to develop formulation methods of preserving the protein stability.
One of effective way to improve protein stability is mixing cosolvents in protein water system[2, 3].
The present of excipient molecules such as salts, carbohydrates, amino acids, and surfactants change
the equilibrium of protein denaturation and aggregation[4 10]. A great interest has been raised in
understanding of the effects of excipients on proteins in an effort to find ideal formulation recipes[11].
One of fundamental concept in addressing the impact of excipients on proteins is their preferential
interactions in the system[12 16]. The interactions of additives can be attractive or repellent to proteins,
resulting the concentration of cosolvents in the local domain near proteins differs from that in the bulk
solution. Such a discrete population of cosolvents influences the thermodynamic properties of the
protein inducing a significant change in conformational or colloidal stability. A key parameter to
quantify the preferential behavior of excipients is the

The zero tolerance policies call for students to receive automatic suspensions or expulsions as

who are disruptive to the learning process should be removed from school. It is not fair to other

implemented, such as in school suspensions.
In the movie we watched, it discussed an eight year old boy who was suspended for playing with a
paper gun. I see no harm in this. He obviously wasn t trying to hurt anyone; he just wanted to play

The Battle Between Grendel And Beowulf
Carl Van Clausewitz once said, Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. In a culture
where being a warrior is a very integral part of everyday lives, having courage is a key component of
social survival. To have courage means to be able to defend a kingdom by every means possible. It
means protecting and ascertaining the wellbeing of the people within one s own kingdom. And above
all, courage means remaining loyal to one s king, regardless of the circumstance. This is the warrior
culture that Beowulf in Beowulf was a part of successfully as a thane, and the same warrior culture that
leads the narrator in The Wanderer to lament past memories. In Beowulf, the fight between Grendel
and Beowulf was certainly a nail biter. In this fight, however, Beowulf shows his courage by doing his
absolute best at defending the kingdom by taking on this gruesome monster. Grendel was wreaking
havoc on the kingdom to no end. He was killing many and terrorizing the citizens greatly. When
Beowulf heard of this, as a courageous thane, he stepped in to try to stop this and protect the people.
Hygelac s kinsman kept [Grendel] helplessly locked in a handgrip. As long as either lived, he was
hateful to the other. The monster s whole body was in pain; a tremendous wound appeared on his
shoulder. Sinews split and the bone lappings burst. Beowulf was granted the glory of winning; Grendel

Public key encryption is a powerful mechanism for ensuring the confidentiality of stored and
transmitted data. The traditional encryption is regarded as a method to share data to some targeted
person or device that the sender knows. This means the sender knows specifically which user he wants
to share with. However, in many systems the message sender will want to share date with a group of
people whose credentials or attributes accord to some access policy set by the sender.[8][9]A new
vision of encryption[10]was presented, where the sender can express how he wants to share data in the
encryption algorithm itself. The sender will give an attribute formula to describe the users who can
decrypt this data. Then only those whose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Then, users use their attribute private key to decrypt the cipher text. In this case it is the users attribute
instead of the traditional public key that is matched with their private key.
CP ABE is extremely efficient and secure in the system in terms of the fine grained access control of
attributes. Theoretically, based on some previous researches, this paper will simply introduce the
algorithm scheme and how it working. Practically, I will compare some libraries which implement CP
ABE and try to implement a small program using these different libraries
2 BACKGROUND OF RESEARCH
In 2007, a new methodology for realizing Ciphertext Policy Attribute
Encryption (CP ABE)[3]under concrete and non interactive cryptographic assumptions in the standard
model came out and a basic framework of this model was constructed. This scheme, referred as BSW
scheme, uses threshold secret sharing to enforce the policy. The main drawback of BSW scheme is the
complexity and computing time in decryption phase, which requires may expensive pairing and
exponentiation operations. In 2009, there is a scheme of CP ABE mentioned before was presented,
which is efficient and provable secure.[5]This scheme can express any access policy involving AND,
OR and OF operator (threshold) by defining the privacy policy through access tree instead of threshold
secret sharing which

J.C. Penney Case Analysis Essay example
SWOT Discussion
Strengths: J.C. Penney will be offering complimentary services with the addition of the Town Square
into all J.C. Penney stores. Already they have been offering free children s haircuts every Sunday
which has drawn much customer interest to the company. The new unique layout of the stores that Ron
Johnson is pushing through will make the stores easier to navigate through. Customers will also have a
unique experience from any other store with the additions of Town Squares and Main Streets into all
stores. J.C. Penney is an old company and so people are familiar it, which will give it a step up when
advertising its new retailing approach. With consistent prices, J.C. Penney will not lose as much money

All these other stores offer intense competition for J.C. Penney, especially as it is revamping its image.
Industry Analysis
J.C. Penney is trying to re invent itself into the retail industry and put its name back at the front of
everyone s mind. People are trying to spend less money during this period of economic downturn and
J.C. Penney is trying to market itself to make customers loyal to their brands in order to keep them
coming back. J.C. Penney is trying to target people who will come back into the store based on the in
store brands that are available, and the consistent pricing such as middle income families. One tactic
that has been used to get families into J.C. Penney is offering free children s haircuts. Parents will
hopefully bring their kids in and then browse through the store afterward. Competition during and after
the conversion to the new store layouts and pricing will be steep. Stores like Macy s, Kohls, and Target
offer many similar products and styles to J.C Penney at similar prices. Other stores like Nordstrom are
more expensive but have very loyal customers. J.C. Penney will need to attract customers that
traditionally shop at other stores as well as bring back customers who quit shopping at J.C. Penney and
went to other stores. Without these customers there will not be enough sales to make back the money
spent on renovations, as well as on consistent pricing of merchandise.

How can one be so stupid?
I never traveled on a flight before I boarded one for the USA. I used to ask everyone that did, what the
experience was like. How it felt to be travelling through the clouds, how it felt to look down at the
planet, tracts of lands, hills and mountains, forests and concrete. Many opined, it felt like travelling on
a bus, hurtling down uneven roads. Some said, it was boring, more boring than it may seem or you may
expect. You can t move much, can t take a walk if your knees ache. Sitting in the same position for
long hours is never enjoyable, they said. Someone shared with me a more terrible fact fluctuating air

took me to Doha, from where I boarded another flight to Boston. I tried to appear confident until I was
asked to fasten the seatbelt. I looked around and tried to see how people did that but failed. I didn t
want to ask for my husband s help we were still new to each other and I had been consciously trying to
maintain a confident and street wise facade, which he later told me he never thought I was. My
husband caught me struggling with the belt and waited for a few seconds just to make a how can one

Comparing Sweat And The Gilded Six Bits
Navin Shiwgobin CRN 1337 Professor Chance March 4, 2016 Compare and Contrasting Sweat and
The Gilded Six Bits In the short stories, Sweat and The Gilded Six bit , by Zora Neale Hurston, both
take place in her hometown of Eatonville, Florida, during the early 1900s. Eatonville was one of the
first towns founded by African Americans in the US. Because they are set in the same town, the stories
characters speak in a broken, English dialect of the South, to reflect the era and location in which they
lived. These stories depict identical circumstances with different consequences. They illustrate the
betrayal of adultery within both of the marriages of Sykes and Delia, from Sweat , and Missy May and
Joe from The Gilded Six Bits . Furthermore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Sweat , Delia is absolutely terrified by the idea of snakes. Sykes knows this but that doesn t stop him
from antagonizing her with the thought. He uses a bullwhip to scare her, as it resembles a snake. He
puts it over her shoulder while she is doing work, and she reacts terrified, in which greatly pleases
Sykes. Sykes, what you throw dat whip on me like dat? You know it would skeer me looks just like a
snake, an you knows how skeered Ah is of snakes. (Hurston 1) Sykes still isn t finished with his
tormenting, as he brings home a rattlesnake. This is where irony strikes, as the same snake he used to
torment Delia bites him and inevitably kills him. In The Gilded Six Bits , the theme of irony is present
as well. With Joe s constant praise of Slemmons, this ironically contributed to Missy s betrayal as he
constantly peaked her interest about him. Joe and Missy May dont realize that they possess something
far more valuable than gold. They have each other s love, which proves to be a very strong thing
nonetheless. Missy May almost throws this away for a gold coin, to which she finds out that it is just a
gold plated half dollar. She took it into her hands trembling and saw that it was no gold piece. It was a
gilded half dollar. (Hurston 734) This experience serves as a precious lesson to them both: all that

  • 2. Critically Evaluate the Management Model of Baumol Under the traditional economic understanding, it is always assumed that profit maximization is treated as the main goal or objective for businesses, subject to perfect knowledge, single entity and rational logic. However, as illustrated by the principal agency problem, managers do not usually make rational decision entirely like owners who take company interest as their sole basis for their decisions. Past examples have shown that managers do take their own personal goals and satisfactions as consideration in their decision making. In addition, information gathering is not always perfect as managers do make decision by relying solely on the implicit knowledge gained from past experiences, without referencing to the macro economic ... Therefore it would make sense for telecommunication firms to divert the peak hours traffic into non peak hours by using a price discrimination strategy which segments the users based upon their willingness and abilities to pay. For instance, business users are willing to pay higher price for peak hours usage due to their inelastic demand whereas in contrast, leisure users demand is elastic and are willing to make call during off peak hours in return for lower price. By adopting the price discrimination strategy, telecommunication firms are able to maximize sales revenue during peak and off peak hours by balancing the air time traffic based upon different market segment of users. At this point, it is also noticeable that one of the characteristics of Baumol firms lies in the perishable products/services offered which cannot be inventoried. The loss sale of the day on the unutilized capacity/outputs is an opportunity cost to the firms. Baumol model is not only applicable to huge/large corporations, but also to small retailers like bakery shop or wet market, which explains the reason why some bakery shops offer a special discount one ... People Face Trade Courses Essay People Face Trade Offs In this assignment, it is evident that I have only one semester left to graduate and I have enough finances to do a maximum of four courses. Three of the courses are required courses and the last course slot is elective. I will have to narrow down my choices to three electives and based on two economic decision making principles, I will provide and support my choice. To begin with, in the scenario, I have three different courses and I have to select one. The three courses include business management, mathematics, and economics. These courses provide and include different benefits and disadvantages and my choice should predict high benefits and incentives. There are various jobs related to mathematics such as high school math teacher, market research analysis, and inventory control specialist. Pursuing mathematics will also improve my arithmetic skills. However, mathematics is very complex and will require a lot of time. On the other hand, economics degree course provides a range of advantages as well as disadvantages. For example, after pursuing the economic course, I will work either as an accountant or as financial analysts as well as investment analysts and statistician. Economics course will provide me with the opportunity to learn new investment skills, capital management and ability to analyze economic trends and patterns. Despite this, economics is a very complex and demanding course. In addition, economics mostly involves tiresome work ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout history, one s perception on love may vary due to the ideology they were being indoctrinated with as well as their family background. Given that different historical periods may affect one s perception on their idea of love, an analysis on the poems La Belle Dame sans Merci by John Keats, My Last Duchess by Robert Browning, and Mother in a Refugee Camp by Chinua Achebe, will be made in order to examine and explore how poets living in different times present love in their own unique approach. When the knight and the woman was having a sexual intercourse, She looked at him as she did love, / And made sweet moan The declarative, she looked at him as she did love expresses the idea of unrequited love. The woman may have only decided upon having a sexual intercourse with him to favour his sexual desires, yet it does not represent that she has an affection for him. On the other hand an iambic tetrameter is also used in the same quotation as a motif of the knight s heartbeat, this represents the excitement and passionate emotions he has within the relationship and sexual intercourse. A sense of negativity can be seen in the line And made sweet moan , the iambic dimeter in this line has a foreboding effect to it, hinting that love between the woman and the knight will not last long. Likewise to La Belle Dame sans Merci , Keats short poem The day is gone, and all its sweets are gone! also signifies his role in the Romanticism movement by the reinforcement of his individual expression and obsessive nature towards his lover Fanny Brawne. This is evident when Keats display the sincere and direct emotions of himself in the title The day is gone, and all its sweets are gone! The dependent clause, and all its sweets are gone is a metaphor that the sweetness of their relationship has disappeared due to the distance between Keats and Brawne. This metaphor can be likened to La Belle Dame sans Merci through the knight s loneliness and sentimental emotions when he waits for the woman he loves. The intensifier all reinforces Keats desires to see Brawne, not seeing her for a day does not only signify the loss of sweetness, but also marking the end of his day. He is eager to see Brawne, and by not seeing her the sweetness of his day, the significance of his day has vanished, disappeared. This poem can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It must be kept in mind that we are only considering the environmental factor and impacts here and we do not have to mention the property rights of the owner of the farm house, has he been adequately compensated and dealt with before the start of this project. We just assume that the owner of the farm house has been dealt with considering all his rights and he is agreed to give away the rights and authority of this farm house to the contractors of the new project. The demolition will not only cause damage to the greenery of the neighborhood but also will enhance the pollution in the form of dust and noise. This will impact the neighbors of the housing complex which is only one thousand feet away from this project s site. The first activity which is to be expected to be done first is the clearance of vegetation which is a direct damage to the environment. The agricultural value and output of this land will be multiplied with zero once the vegetations will be cleared of the surface. 200 acre of the farm land which this project has bought for the current project is a vast land and clear vegetation from it will damage not only the view from the site but also will be a decrease in economy. Some of the dogs had a disease called Cervical Spondylomyelopathy, commonly known as Wobbler Syndrome or CSM, and some of them were perfectly normal and healthy. The cause of this disease is unknown but many believe that it is a mix of large breed dogs having a large and heavy head and long neck which can cause irregular forces on the vertebrae of the neck. The study included 15 dogs with Wobblers and 15 dogs who had no clinical signs of wobblers. In the beginning stages, wobblers causes dogs to have a funny, wobbly walk in their back legs and they will seem extra clumsy. The Wrongful Conviction Of The Criminal Justice System Since the late 1980s, there have been thousands of cases in which prime suspects have been wrongfully convicted, the most common causes being eyewitness misidentification, incriminating statements, and statements from informants. The rape kit evidence unfortunately found that it was impossible to find a match because the sample came from a person who does not exhibit their blood type in their bodily fluids ( The Innocence Project, n. d.), meaning that Ireland could not be immediately ruled out. Ireland ended up pleading guilty of the crime, most likely to have a lesser sentence. The jury deliberated for three days over the decision, most likely because not all of the evidence was consistent. Ireland s defense had just enough information for a successful case, but the lack of more evidence in his favor and information about other possible suspects lead the jury to make the devastating decision of sentencing him to fifty years in prison ( The Innocence Project, n. d.). There were three charges against Ireland: felony murder, first degree sexual assault, and third degree burglary. In 1991, Ireland appealed the decision by providing two arguments: that the two witnesses were informants and were being given a $20,000 reward to cover for another man, and that the court prohibited his defense from exhibiting evidence about another possible suspect. Unfortunately, his appeal was denied. The Innocence Project branch in Connecticut reviewed Ireland s case in 2007 and with the improvement of DNA testing equipment, analysts confirmed that Ireland was not a match for the suspect. • 11. Essay On Pcr And Gel Electrophoresis DNA is commonly used in the modern legal system to release the innocent or imprison the guilty. There are two different ways to create DNA evidence through science technology, PCR and gel electrophoresis. Polymerase Chain Reaction, PCR, is used to create thousands to millions of copies of DNA, out of a small piece of DNA, this piece is used to make a DNA profile. Doing this makes it easier to test the DNA. PCR is used to find if a gene has pathogens. They are an infectious agent that creates illness or disease and it s commonly a virus, parasite or bacteria. (1) Gel electrophoresis is the technique used to separate molecules from DNA, RNA or proteins, based on the size or electric charge. It can be used in DNA fingerprinting, the findings and purification of nucleic acids and proteins. Gel electrophoresis can be used to find pathogens that can be found in blood, tissues or sources like food. (2) These are some of the methods that are used in court and police cases to discover DNA. In their respective stories these two characters are astonishingly similar. There are of course some differences between two, but the similarities they have allow for clear correlations to be drawn. Iago and Loki, then, symbolize the antithesis of these ideals. Instead of honesty and integrity they lie to their friends and demean women. Their place as foils to Othello and Thor leave them without any character beyond their negative traits. For a play written by Shakespeare this is odd, as most characters have ample development possesing both vices and virtues. Iago is more like the Norse depiction of Loki, a being of evil and mischief, than one of Shakespeare s characters. • 19. How Technology Has Changed Us Technology has evolved rapidly in previous years, making the completion of task more convenient. In order to effectively highlight convenience to consumers, data security must come into consideration. The transition from swipe/PIN cards to contactless has introduced yet also removed security issues. Swipe cards use a magnetic stripe containing the necessary banking details, found on the back of the card. These types of swipe cards are outdated and have been upgraded with chips, which provide better security of data through complex encryption. The widely accepted method of two factor authentication utilises this chip as well as a PIN that the card owner knows which strengthens the security design. Contactless cards have an embedded RFID chip having similar functionality to those found commonly in PIN/Swipe chip cards. These chips emit radio waves instead of requiring the user to dip/swipe their card. The card is placed near an electromagnetic field emitted by a card reading terminal allowing the transfer of encrypted data to authenticate the transaction. Compared to contactless cards, magnetic stripe swipe cards can be easily exploited as the information stored on the magnetic stripe is static. This means it can be cloned onto a fake card, giving it the same credentials and allowing unauthorised use. The low level of security of magnetic stripe swipe cards is also highlighted by the fact that the user merely has to sign after the transaction. Whereas the chip found in PIN ... Bivariate Analysis The United States is responsible for a film industry that is forever expanding and making a world of difference to films being screened worldwide. Primarily there are two types of films that a studio will choose to produce. The first being a blockbuster film which is defined as a very popular or successful, usually big budget production. Blockbuster films are generically very popular with the public and captivate the audience. The public become invested in these movies through the advertising of the film and have a strong inclination to watch the film when they re released. Their intention as defined by Wikipedia is to emphasize spectacle, star power, and high production value, all of which entail an enormous budget (Wikipedia, 2015). The second type of film produced is an independent film produced mostly or completely outside of the major film studio system. Whilst both films have differing objectives and production techniques, they both share a common requirement; the ability to make a profit from their effort. The overall expenditure of a film is usually split into creative and technical costs which cover all bases of the costs involved with creating a film. It is therefore considerably important for a film to earn ample profit in order to not only cover the cost involved with creating the movie, but for a sizeable profit to be made. Most Efficient Method Of Quantifying Radioactive Strontium Summary This report, Most Efficient Method of Quantifying Radioactive Strontium , determines what the most efficient method is for quantifying radioactive strontium when analyzing samples for radioisotopes of strontium, specifically Sr 89 and Sr 90. The analysis was performed from information collected by studying journal articles, recalling personal experiences at work, and reading textbooks about the different types of particle detectors. Information collected from the referenced sources and personal experience show that the Cherenkov counting method is the most efficient method for Sr 89 determination and the proportional counting method is the most efficient method for Sr 90 determination. The report finds that proportional counting is the best method for Sr 90 determination, Cherenkov counting is the best method for Sr 89 determination and a method that incorporates different detectors is the most efficient method. It is recommended for an analytical laboratory to always first use Cherenkov counting or proportional counting for strontium analysis. It is also recommended to create technical work instructions for a multi detector method that is updated every 6 months with improvements on the method. 1.0 Introduction The analytical chemistry laboratory at Kinectrics Inc. offers a wide variety of services that include radiochemistry, general chemistry, and oils analysis. Unit 30 Digital Graphics Assignment Unit 30 Digital Graphics Assignment Task 1 (A) Graphics Card A graphics card is a component of a computer system that helps to generate an image on the computer screen. Graphics cards are connected between the CPU and the screen in a computer system in order to provide the user with a clear image on the screen, a graphics card has its own RAM and its own Graphics Processor, and this means that it does not rely on the CPU to provide the entire RAM for the computer system. The inclusion of RAM into the graphics card means that the card will take care of most of the graphics processing allowing the computers RAM to do other jobs and do them more efficiently. The information process begins in the CPU where it sends information about the image to the graphics card; the graphics card decides how to use the pixels to create the image on the screen. There are different types of graphics card available and some are better than others.. A good quality graphics card produces smoother video and graphics playback and sharper pictures. A good graphics card can mean a faster refresh rate so if working with photos you can display them quicker and have better colour resolution. A graphics card can be used where it can produce high definition gameplay and also enable dual display and even use a television screen as a monitor through the use of a HDMI cable. Moreover the book explains much of the technical focus of the Arrow project detractors, for this takes up the larger portion of his case. In the event that one should need to back up concepts and theories regarding the Arrow project and the surrounding political and economic affairs, Peden provides an extremely valuable source. There is much to be mentioned in terms of the people who drove the project, engineers, cooperative Americans who s resources made much of the project viable, and the leadership of Crawford Gordon. Unfortunately this source is skimpy on the preceding variables, compromising it s historic worth in terms of key personalities. It would be this papers contention that Peden s work is an excellent source for the enhancement and crystallization of prior knowledge on the subject matter, due to it s technological base. Because the knowledge based competition of the 21st century economy depends on the competitiveness of STEM education, improvement of STEM education is a national call. In addition, the needs for improvements in K 12 science education align with the needs for improvement in science teacher s PD. STEM jobs require higher creativity and innovation, thus STEM teachers and educational leaders are expected to encourage creativity and innovation in student learning regardless of barriers. Nevertheless, teachers are expected to overcome all barriers in order to foster active learning by students (Michael, 2007). In general, STEM education requires teacher s creativity and flexibility. This urges rethinking of the education leaders and researchers about identifying effective professional development for STEM teachers. STEM teacher s professional development is becoming much more important than ever for mainly three reasons. First, according to recent U.S. Bureau of labor statics, STEM jobs are growing faster than any other U.S. sector estimated increase by 17% by 2024. • 40. A Native Conformation Of Protein And Aggregation Of Proteins A native conformation of protein is only marginally stable than unfolded states, and most of proteins are prone to aggregate in liquid state to form non native supra structures. The loss of unique globular structures and aggregation of proteins are problematic in biopharmaceutical formulations due to the reduction of therapeutic potency and the possibility of inducing undesired immune responses[1]. For several decades, it has been pursued to develop formulation methods of preserving the protein stability. One of effective way to improve protein stability is mixing cosolvents in protein water system[2, 3]. The present of excipient molecules such as salts, carbohydrates, amino acids, and surfactants change the equilibrium of protein denaturation and aggregation[4 10]. A great interest has been raised in understanding of the effects of excipients on proteins in an effort to find ideal formulation recipes[11]. One of fundamental concept in addressing the impact of excipients on proteins is their preferential interactions in the system[12 16]. The interactions of additives can be attractive or repellent to proteins, resulting the concentration of cosolvents in the local domain near proteins differs from that in the bulk solution. Such a discrete population of cosolvents influences the thermodynamic properties of the protein inducing a significant change in conformational or colloidal stability. In the movie we watched, it discussed an eight year old boy who was suspended for playing with a paper gun. I see no harm in this. • 42. The Battle Between Grendel And Beowulf Carl Van Clausewitz once said, Courage, above all things, is the first quality of a warrior. In a culture where being a warrior is a very integral part of everyday lives, having courage is a key component of social survival. To have courage means to be able to defend a kingdom by every means possible. It means protecting and ascertaining the wellbeing of the people within one s own kingdom. And above all, courage means remaining loyal to one s king, regardless of the circumstance. This is the warrior culture that Beowulf in Beowulf was a part of successfully as a thane, and the same warrior culture that leads the narrator in The Wanderer to lament past memories. In Beowulf, the fight between Grendel and Beowulf was certainly a nail biter. In this fight, however, Beowulf shows his courage by doing his absolute best at defending the kingdom by taking on this gruesome monster. Grendel was wreaking havoc on the kingdom to no end. He was killing many and terrorizing the citizens greatly. When Beowulf heard of this, as a courageous thane, he stepped in to try to stop this and protect the people. Hygelac s kinsman kept [Grendel] helplessly locked in a handgrip. As long as either lived, he was hateful to the other. The monster s whole body was in pain; a tremendous wound appeared on his shoulder. Sinews split and the bone lappings burst. The traditional encryption is regarded as a method to share data to some targeted person or device that the sender knows. This means the sender knows specifically which user he wants to share with. However, in many systems the message sender will want to share date with a group of people whose credentials or attributes accord to some access policy set by the sender.[8][9]A new vision of encryption[10]was presented, where the sender can express how he wants to share data in the encryption algorithm itself. Theoretically, based on some previous researches, this paper will simply introduce the algorithm scheme and how it working. Practically, I will compare some libraries which implement CP ABE and try to implement a small program using these different libraries 2 BACKGROUND OF RESEARCH In 2007, a new methodology for realizing Ciphertext Policy Attribute Encryption (CP ABE)[3]under concrete and non interactive cryptographic assumptions in the standard model came out and a basic framework of this model was constructed. This scheme, referred as BSW scheme, uses threshold secret sharing to enforce the policy. The main drawback of BSW scheme is the complexity and computing time in decryption phase, which requires may expensive pairing and exponentiation operations. In 2009, there is a scheme of CP ABE mentioned before was presented, which is efficient and provable secure.[5]This scheme can express any access policy involving AND, OR and OF operator (threshold) by defining the privacy policy through access tree instead of threshold secret sharing which ...
