Bibliography:16 Introduction Social media campaigns provide an insight into the competitive
market to improve the communication and the brand identity of an organisation (Keller, 2014).
In the case of the tourism industry, social media like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter help firms
to expand their brand reach by building a relationship with customers through an open
conversation process (Ammerman, 2015). A social media campaign helps the tourism industry to
achieve more customer satisfaction and loyalty. Considering the words of Ramaseshan and Stein
(2014), it is essential for a social media campaign to select a suitable social media platform for
engaging the customers with the right choice of messages. Therefore, a tactical plan for a social
media campaign is going to be developed for Shropshire Hills Tourism, UK. The tactical plan
attempts to create potential leads by developing a photography competition campaign on Facebook.
1.0 SMART objective Specific Shropshire Hills Tourism in the UK is planning to promote its
photography competition campaign on the social media sites. The campaign is conducted to
identify the real photography talent and highlight the beauty of the Shropshire region. The social
media campaign aims to generate leads; the marketing team would follow up

Literary Explication Of Shakespeare s Sonnet 130
Literary Explication When thinking of a love poem, one thinks of a clichГ© description of the
speaker s lover or maybe is an imaginative portrayal of love in a general sense. Love poems
always have an exaggerating characteristic when describing something or someone. Sonnet 130 by
William Shakespeare, is a parody of love poetry; love is not always like it is illustrated in others
contemporaries poems. The author of this sonnet uses the traditional English sonnet form,
containing fourteen lines, written in iambic pentameter, and has an ABABCDCDEFEFGG rhyme
scheme. The sonnet s form is part of the parody because usually love sonnets writers use traditional
sonnet forms, an example for this is Francesco Petrarch that is well known for his love sonnets
written in Italian sonnet form. Shakespeare makes the contradiction between a traditional sonnet
form and a non traditional content of the sonnet. The content of this sonnet, a decretory description
of the speaker s lover, is very opposite to a traditional love poem s content. In the first three
quatrains of Sonnet 130 , the speaker compares his mistress with various thing and tells us how she
doesn t measures up to them. In the last couplet the speaker changes... Show more content on

Love poets seem to obsess with woman s appearances, but Shakespeare mange to poke on that
obsession, making this poem kind of a wakeup call on our image of beauty. As the speaker lightly
mocks traditional poems and beauty images, he turns the theme to an illustration of true love,
ending the poem on a sweet note. By turning the theme he goes from the person who he is
mocking other poets to the poet he has mocked all along. This couplet also sends the message that
even in a poem where he is mocking other poets he need to express his true feeling about his

Tar Syndrome Research Paper
Thrombocytopenia with absent radius (TAR) syndrome is a rare genetic disorder within the
human body. TAR syndrome is defined by an absence of the radius in both forearms. This disorder
comes with a range of debilitating effects. Many children diagnosed do not survive infancy.
TAR syndrome is caused by an absence of the 1, 1q21.1 chromosome. This deletion is also found in
32% of unaffected family members. (Thomas, 2008) Because of the unaffected family members it
indicates there must be an additional modifier to cause a diagnosed patient. In 2012, it was
discovered TAR syndrome was a recessive condition, and instead of deleting the entire chromosome
it only partially removes the production of the protein Y14. (Weisksner, 2012) So this is

1. Introduction
A variety of concepts and analytical tools fall under the label yield management. The term is used
in many service industries to describe techniques to allocate limited resources, such as airplane seats
or hotel rooms, among a variety of customers, such as business or leisure travelers. Since these
techniques are used by firms with extremely perishable goods, or by firms with services that cannot
be stored at all, these concepts and tools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The hotel could sell out all 210 rooms to leisure travelers at the discount price, but it also knows
that an increasing number of business customers will request rooms as March 29 approaches
and that these business customers are willing to pay full price. To simplify our problem, let us
assume that leisure demand occurs first and then business demand occurs. Hence we must
decide how many rooms we are willing to sell at the leisure fare or in other words, how many
rooms shall we protect (i.e., reserve) for the full price payers. If too many rooms are protected,
then there may be empty rooms when March 29 arrives. If too few are protected, then the hotel
forgoes the extra revenue it may have received from business customers. Notice we assume that the
hotel can charge two different prices for the same product (a room). To separate the two customer
segments with two different demand curves, the hotel introduces price discrimination. In the hotel
example, we assume that the firm can charge different prices to business and leisure customers 4 .
In order to differentiate between these two groups, a firm often introduces booking rules. For
example, a

Saturday night stay may be required to receive a discounted room on Monday, since business
travelers are less likely to stay over the weekend. Again, leisure customers are more price sensitive
so the hotel wishes to sell as many rooms to business custome rs at a higher price as possible while
keeping room utilization

ARK Week Business Analysis
There are many adjectives to describe this organization: fun , coco , silly , or even confusing.
There is, however, not one perfect word that can really describe this group. The only word that
comes close to perfect in describing The Whatever is different . The Whatever is one of the 300+
organizations at Baylor University. Despite the vast number of organizations, The Whatever is
unlike any other organization on campus because of its challenging and welcoming atmosphere, in
addition, its diverse list of events leaves a place for everyone in this unique group. Bored is the
last word any member of The Whatever would say. Weekly meetings are not even called meetings,

Annie Mathis says, I hope to see the organization go in a direction of impact. I want us to be able

so. Campus wide encouragement can only grow to city wide encouragement. If we can foster a
spirit of outward love amongst our own members, and they can spread that to others, then we ve
accomplished our goal. (Mathis)
Out of all of The Whatever s various missions, the most important, as stated by Mathis is spread
the love . (Mathis) The Whatever is no home to loneness, worry, fear, or doubt. The Whatever

Asoka: The Enlightened Ruler
Intro: To begin with Asoka has shown good depth into his community and personality, because of
this he is an enlightened ruler. He himself has made many mistakes but fixed them on the journey
of life. For example, he was responsible for many deaths but he showed remorse throughout the
community. Then he spread Buddhism throughout the community. The acts of Asoka showing
remorse, helping his communities, and spreading the Buddha teachings, was clear that Asoka was
an enlightened ruler.
Paragraph 2: Secondly, he showed remorse for what he did in the war of Kalinga. Asoka is
responsible for many death so many people thought he was a ruthless conqueror for endangering
innocent civilians and soldiers. After all the war of Kalinga killed 200,000 people. Also, When
the war in Kalinga was over ... and the people conquered, he felt inside him a great crisis, a
stirring for meaning and a remorse. Eventually, Asoka the ruler of Mauryan Empire felt guilty for
what and how he did the war of Kalinga. So the ruler, he himself, showed remorse to his community.

Literature Review Of Contemporary Literature On...
LITERATURE REVIEW
This chapter is a review of relevant literature on distributive justice. The chapter enables the
researcher to examine the level of literary works on the subject matter of the study. It adopts a
thematic method in its approach, namely: justice in general; theories of justice; theories and
principles of distributive justice; distributive justice and the common good; distributive justice and
private ownership of property; distributive justice and charity; distributive justice in relation to
politics and religion; and distributive justice and peace.
2.1Justice in General Justice seems to be variously applied by different scholars. However, no
matter how they try to use the concept, it does not exclude the fact that events affecting others
follow a constituted order which must be followed.
Richard McBrien in his book, Catholicism, sees Justice as an English translation of the Latin
word ius, which means right ; this right, according to him, is a power to do things which are
necessary for achieving the end or purpose for which one is destined as rational and free persons.
(943 944). He stresses that justice is not only about one s rights, it is also concerned with duties
which correspond to those rights, and emphasises the fact that a person s rights are limited by the
existence of other people s rights (943). However, Dokun Oyeshola in his book, Conflict and
Context of Conflict Resolution, argues that justice is not monolithic, and thus has various
interpretations:
Those who speak of justice in terms of property rights are bound to be in opposition to those who
speak of the need for an environmental justice or social justice. Those who believe that resources
should be distributed equally will see different solutions as just than will those who believe
resources should be distributed according to the need (214).
In spite of the difficulty surrounding the general and universal interpretation of the word justice, he
postulates two principles: macro and micro justice principles. For him, macro justice principle is
concerned with the welfare of the group, while micro justice is centred on the welfare of the
individual (215). He also believes that the two principles are not mutually

Virtual Study Hall
Every end of marking period and progress check some students rush to complete all their work
on time. They may have loads of lessons due and are rushing to complete them. Sometimes there
are virtual study hall days on the ends of marking periods or progress checks though, and those
let students work on past assignments without having to work on new lessons. The thing is, they
don t have them every end of marking period or progress check. One thing I think that would
make progress checks and marking periods less stressful would be to have virtual study halls every
end of marking period/progress check, so let s look at some ways a study hall would be beneficial
to students and teachers alike!
So first of all, teachers would have a better day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the time marking periods and progress checks are very stressful. But if there was a
virtual study hall day at the end of every marking period/progress check, it would make things a
lot easier for the students. Students would only have to work on past assignments and would also
want to work harder so they can have the day off. Who knows, maybe they would even want to
work ahead on lessons, too.
Finally, students would be able to complete all their work on time. It would allow students with
lessons that have piled up over time to be able to get them done. It would also mean less
assignments due. In the end it,would probably just amount to more students getting assignments
finished before the due date. Because of this study hall days would most likely help lots of students.
On the other hand, teachers have to post a certain amount of lessons each year. In order to combat
this problem, the school would just subtract off certain days from breaks. Or maybe they would
have a few more days of school before summer break. Also,it could just mean having more lessons
posted on other days. Either way, the teachers would be able to post the required number of lessons,
and students would have the needed time before important

When it comes to the Michigan State defense the experts are writing them off as not good
enough to win a championship, they forget to look at refined statistics, strength of schedule, and
the overall talent level of the defense as an entirety. It is hardly advertised that of the six teams
that Michigan State has played this year, not one, but two, Oregon and Air Force, are ranked in
the top 6 of overall rush offense, according to the official website of the NCAA. To Oregon, who
is averaging 318.7 rush yards per game, Michigan State ceded only 123 rush yards on 43
attempts. The Spartan team was similarly able to only allow Oregon one rushing touchdown,
which is two scores less than their per game average. However, if you were to eliminate the
Michigan State game rushing stats and only conduct rushing stats for Oregon s other 5 games,
they would be averaging 357.8 yards per game which would rank them second in the country.
While air force did manage to obtain a value closer to their yards per game average of 335.4
yards per game falling 57 yards shy. While this does not seem all that impressive, it is imperative to
realize that with the triple option scheme that Air Force runs a lot of rushing yards are going to be
given up, what was vital was to limit the touchdowns allowed through the running, which Michigan
State was able to succeed in only allowing two rushing touchdowns, holding them to

Command Economy Vs. Command Economies
A market economy is an economy in which decisions regarding investment production and
distribution are based on supply and demand, and prices of goods and services are determined in
a free price system. (Alvather, 1993) Market economies may be practical, but they also rest upon
the fundamental principle of individual freedom: freedom as a consumer to choose among
competing products and services; freedom as a producer to start or expand a business and share
its risks and rewards; freedom as a worker to choose a job or career, join a labor union, or change
employers. Market economies are not without their inequities and misuses. A number of them
genuine, however it is likewise verifiable that cutting edge private endeavor and entrepreneurial
soul, coupled with political vote based system, offers the best prospect for safeguarding flexibility
and giving the most extensive streets to investment development and success for all. (Davis,
2009) A command economy is a system where the government, rather than the free market,
determines what goods should be produced, how much should be produced and the price at
which the goods will be offered for sale. The command economy is a key feature of any
communist society. Command economy also known as are not able to proficiently allot

how much of a good ought to be delivered. Shortages and surpluses are a common consequence of

Effects Of A Bad Day Essay
Growing up everyone has their own experiences. These range from having your first kiss, to
finding out that giraffes may not actually be real. However, no matter how life changing one of
these experiences may be, the change doesn t occur overnight. Instead it s a steady process
where each single event builds on each other to make an individual who they are. With these
experiences come moments of extreme highs as well as extreme lows, and while having a good
day is the preference of the many, a bad day is what many of us take for granted. Sukhraj Dhillon
explained this concept best when he wrote, Good days give you happiness, and bad days give

Before lastly wrapping up our day as we established the overall benefits we gain from a bad day.
Bad days play an influential role in our lives, and while we wish they didn t exist, without them
we wouldn t be where we are today as individuals. Therefore we need to change our perception of
bad days from a negative one to a positive one. We also need to recognize that having a bad day
has more impact than a good day. Once we come to recognize these facts as well as incorporate
them in our lives we ll begin to see bad days as not something that degrades us, but that builds us
up. The shift towards seeing bad days as a beneficial experience will both enlighten us, as well as
provide us with a better mindset when we are faced by unfavorable challenges. As famous pop star

Essay on The Use of Steroids in Major League Baseball
The Use of Steroids in Major League Baseball
He walked into his hotel bathroom and cautiously closed the door. Clanging his 60 lb. dumbbell

THG, he began to think about the consequences of his actions; it is a serious problem, but he doesn

through the skin and half way through his muscle, he unloaded the syringe and felt the steroids

When the steroid scandal heightened and the talk of drug testing began, it is apparent that Giambi
got scared and stopped his steroid problem. When Giambi reported to spring training this year, he
came in with a sunken in face and weighed 20 pounds less, which is an occurrence that happens
when an athlete discontinues his steroid cycle.
Steroids are becoming a huge problem in Major League Baseball. Records in the past, such as the
single season home run record, were set by people who were truly amazing athletes and
achieved their record from hard work and dedication. From 1966 through 1994, two players hit
at least 50 or more home runs. Since 1995, 18 players have reached 50. Roger Maris single
season record of 61 home runs stood for 27 years and has been surpassed six times since 1998.
Morals in baseball have been lost; whatever happened to achieving greatness with the talents God
had given them? Now players are chemically making themselves stronger so that they can make
record books, and they are ruining their bodies as well as the competition to do it. Players now
have to start juicin up just to contend with the competition. The NBA, NFL, NCAA, and Olympics
all ban steroids, and it is coming to the day where baseball needs too as well (Caminiti).
Well, what are steroids? Where did they come from? And how do they make someone so much

Feminist Theory Of Feminism
Introduction
How can we effect change in the world when only half of it is invited to feel welcome to participate
in the conversation ( Watson, 2014). In the feminist perspective, which is an extension of feminism,
there is support of equality for both women and men. Feminism is a belief that women and men
have equal rights and opportunities. There are many different branches in the feminist perspective,
one of the most interesting one is intersectional feminism. Intersectional feminism believes that
experiences of class, gender, and race can not be adequately understood unless we understand that
women of different races have different experiences.
Women of color are told everyday how they have to fit in with the beauty norms that... Show more

This period was concurrent with the anti war and civil rights movements. Still persistent issues that
existed from the first wave carried on to the second wave. These issues regarded sexuality and
reproductive rights (2005).
The third wave of feminism started in the mid 1990 s and is referred to as a response to the
perceived failures of the second wave. In the third wave we saw a new type of feminist. The new
feminist rejected that the notion of lipstick, high heels and exposed low cut necklines, identified
with male oppression. (Feminist and Intersectionality, 2017). The third wave of feminism also was
the first to emphasize that feminism was more specific to the rights of white women, rather than
women on minorities.
Intersectional feminism is often times called black feminism. It was coined as a movement by
KimberlГ©
Crenshaw. The creation of this type of feminism was concurrent with the Civil Rights Movement.
Crenshaw believed that the intersectionality experience of black women was far more powerful
than the sum of their race and sex. She believed that observations that do not take intersectionality,
fail to accurately address how black women are subordinate (DeFrancisco Palczewski, 2007).
Intersectional feminism argues that gender, race and class are intersecting oppressions ( Jones e.t
al, quoting Crenshaw, 2013). Intersectional feminism allows us to understand that while some
women are subject to sexism, some women are greater affected because

Why Is The Hobbit Controversial
J.R.R. Tolkien: Controversial but Great
When most people think of J.R.R. Tolkien, they often think of his great imagination and his world
of great dragons, warriors, orcs, hobbits, wizards, dwarves and elves. But most people forget about
the deeper meaning behind his stories and his controversy towards society. Tolkien was a British,

Tolkien s works of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are controversial but masterpieces

Tolkien s work are masterpieces in fantasy writing, but have sparked great controversy in the writer
s world of fiction. The Lord of the Rings explains that Tolkien s perspective of modernism is not
just considered a free form of writing , but a way of thinking. Also Tolkien s popularity has come
from his reference to an older, more traditional world where man has an obvious relationship
with both the spiritual and natural world around him (128). The Hobbit says, Tolkien believed
mythology and fairy tales helped bridge the gap between generations (104). Tolkien thought that
his books had no age limits for who should be allowed to read them and brought imagination and

Essay Arguments for Environmental Conservation
Response 3: Arguments for Environmental Conservation Since the beginning of civilization
humanity has adopted a subjugating stance toward nature. Ecological exploitation has become the
de facto standard, contributing to the illusion of self subsistence provided by modern society. This
mindset is untenable given humanities reliance on the natural world, as best demonstrated by the
critical importance of various parts of the environment to humanities continued existence. This
includes the importance of biodiversityto medicinal advancement and climate adaptation, the role
of insects in the renewal of the biosphere, and the importance of the environment for humanities

(31) In addition, biodiversity will be crucial for humanities continued survival in the case of
climate change or widespread crop failures. The majority of people on earth are reliant on four
crops for subsistence; wheat, rice, corn, and millet. (11) These crops are threatened by climate
change and the spread of disease facilitated by modern transportation. If humanity is to survive such
an eventuality it must be ready to draw upon the earth s biodiversity for replacements. And while
there are approximately 50 thousand plant species that could offer alternatives, this bank of
resources is quickly thinning as various ecosystems are being destroyed. (11) Other services nature
provides are more easily taken for granted. We depend on plant life to replenish the oxygen in the
atmosphere, and on insects to replace nutrients in the soil. (31) These insects are especially vital,
as they are part of the foundation of nearly all ecosystems. Without insects, plant species that rely
on them for pollination would quickly become extinct, including many of the species we rely on
for food. Following them would be species that feed on insects, as well as species which rely on
vegetation as part of their habitats. Finally, as insects make the prime contribution to soil renewal,
even non insect pollinated plant life would begin to decline. (34) The result, according to Wilson,

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II
The Keirsey Temperament Sorter II is an instrument to determine an individual s personality traits.
Each of us has different personalities. Those personalities that we acquired through our parents,
guardians or that we learned ourselves. To understand another individual, we have to understand
ourselves first. The Keirsey Temperament SorterII provides a better understanding for each

types. Having this tool can help an individual to make a better choice in life, especially in a

Personality Type Each of us has different personalities. Beginning as an infant, all of us have no
idea who or what kind an individual we are. All of us see the world through the eyes of our very

Financial Intermediation and Economic Development in Nigeria
Abstract
Financial intermediation is an important activity in the economy because it allows funds to be
channeled from people who might otherwise not put them to productive use to people who will
ultimately put the funds to productive uses. In line with the assumption that banking sector plays
an important role in financing the investment projects, successive governments in Nigeria have
carried out reforms and institutional innovations in the banking sector. The overall intention of
these reforms has been to ensure financial stability so as to influence the growth of the economy
and also enhance banks to play a critical role of financial intermediation in Nigeria. However,
despite the fact that Nigerian banks have undergone series of ... Show more content on

The efficiency and effectiveness of financial intermediation in any economy depend critically on the
level of development of the country s financial system. In effect, the underdeveloped nature of the
financial system in most developing countries accounts largely for the relative inefficiency of
financial intermediation in those economies. In these countries the financial system is dominated
by banks, which are typically oligopolistic in structure and tend to concentrate on short term lending
as against investments with long term gestation period. The alternative/complementary source for
financing development projects is the development of debt or equity markets which at best, is at the
rudimentary stage of development. It is in this regard that specialized financial institutions,
including government owned development banks have been established in Nigeria to bridge the gap.
The principal function of deposit money banks is the mobilization of savings for investment. The
importance of banks in generating growth within an economy has been widely acknowledged, for
example Schumpeter (1932) cited in Blum, Federmair, Fink, and Haiss (2002) identified bank s role
in facilitating technological innovation through their intermediary role. Schumpeter

Summary Of Drawing A Line In The Gay Wedding Cake By John...
To the Editor
In Drawing a Line in the Gay Wedding Cake Case by John Corvino discusses the dispute between
the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop and Charlie Craig and his fiancГ© David Mullins. Craig and
his fiancГ© were awfully discriminated by the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop as he refused to
make a cake for the couple s wedding. He refused due to his religious beliefs and claims he was not
discriminating based on sexual orientation as he offered to sell them items like a birthday cake or
cookies.
The U.S Supreme will be hearing this case and should side with Craig and his FiancГ© as they
are victims of such discrimination. The owner should not have refused to make a couple simply
because in his eyes same sex marriage is a sin. No one

Success Impact On Success
Impacts On My Success In life there are many factors to success. In some cases your culture or
socialization can help or hinder your success. These are important factors in the eyes of others
and yourself. I believe it is up to me to determine what aspects of my life that will impact my
success. Success is impacted by my job and who I surround myself with, how I speak to others,
and how my culture of honor helps me achieve success. We define others and ourselves, by the
jobs we hold. This is because of envy. We all envy the other person who is doing better than you.
Also the more you can relate to someone the more envious you could be of them. Most people
would not think twice of wasting your time on someone who is lesser position than you. Alain
De Botton loves a quote by St. Augustine in The City of God, where he says, It s a sin to judge
any man by his post. In modern English that would mean it s a sin to come to any view of who
you should talk to, dependent on their business card (A kinder). When climbing the success
ladder you probably will want people as successful or more successful as you to boost yourself.
By having their friends you will boost your career and not be envious of them after you
potentially pass the. As Button puts it, You can t be successful at everything (A kinder). He is
right, there is so many different fields and careers you cannot be successful at them all. As people

Dreams Essay
Dreams
In this information age, the more one knows the better will be his response to his world. What
better way to know oneself than through ones dreams and their interpretations. Take Joe for
example. He dreamt that he was lying in bed crying. When his mother came in to see what was
wrong they had sex. Initially Joe woke up, thinking he was in the middle of a nightmare. Now
there are two choices for Joe. He could either feel weird, that he had feelings about his mother, or
he could look at what symbols were in his dream. Joe decided to analyze his dream. Since he was in
his own bed, it showed that he is comfortable in his life. Secondly Joe, needed to decipher if there

Psychologists like Sigmund Freud and Karl Jung are famous for their dream studies. Freud s most
famous work, The Interpretation Of Dreams, argues that the unconscious drives and desires
contributed to conscious behavior. Freud also felt that a dream was the fulfillment of a wish.
Psychologists like Robert Van de Castle, Ph D., have concluded that children and adults dream in
the same way. Though their dreams may be different, they also serve the same purpose (Short 30).
Oona Short, author of Sweet and
Not So Sweet Dreams from Working Mother, says that small children, mainly infants dream
more often than adults do. While adults only spend about twenty percent of their nights in
dream sleep, infants spend nearly half of all sleep time dreaming (30). Dreams are put in two
categories: good dreams and nightmares. Between the ages of three and seven, one begins to
develop good dreams (Short 30 1), which are simply characterized as what makes the individual
happy. Once they have established these dreams, they last throughout one s life. In one year some
have as many as 1000 dreams, but remember very few. For that reason many people claim to be
nondreamers (Faraday 19).
Remembering dreams can be difficult for some, but dreams are remembered like all other memory.

Concept Explanation Of Mass Production
Concept Explanation
Mass production and customization used to be considered opposites and were considered to be
opposite ends of a spectrum (Beaty, 1996). Mass customization allows that company to provide
products meeting unique specifications while at the same time achieving a low manufacturing cost
by using mass production technologies to provide one of a kind products (Daft, 2013; Welborn,
2007; Pine Gilmore, 1997). This idea has been around for over a decade, but just recently has
technology caught up with the idea and allowed it to become an efficient and profitable process
(Sherman, 2013; Weintraub, 2013). I am interested in this topic because I see it starting to
penetrate every aspect of my daily life. This is apparent by such ... Show more content on

Our textbook is missing three specific things that are noted in a great deal of the literature and
appear to be very important to the study of mass customization: (1) conflicts as to the proper
definition, (2) essential elements of a proper mass customization scheme, and (3) the benefits and
weaknesses of mass customization in the real world. In the current literature there is a disagreement
as to what level of customization is required for a production process to appropriately fall under the
purview of mass customization. Those who have coined themselves purist believe that a mass
customization concept must produce products that fulfills all the requirements of an individual
customer. The pragmatists on the other hand say that mass customization is about allowing
customers to choose from an independent and predetermined number of options to meet their needs
(Stojanova, Gecevska, Anisic, Mancev, 2013). There are two essential elements of a successful
mass customization process: customer involvement and technology. For customization to be
successful the customer himself must contribute and be involved in the specification and
configuration of the product itself so that his or her preferences can clearly be conveyed and met in
the product s creation (Stojanova, Gecevska, Anisic, Mancev, 2013; Golay Church, 2013; Fogliatto,
Silveira, Borenstein, 2012; Daaboul, Cunha, Bernard, Laroche, 2011). Technology is

Prostitution Is Morally Wrong And Should Be Eradicated...
Prostitution
Prostitution is morally wrong and should be eradicated from society for several different reasons.
In prostitution, men remove women s humanity. Buying a woman in prostitution gives men the
power to turn women into a living breathing masturbation fantasy. He removes her and those
qualities that define her as an individual, and for him she becomes sexualized body parts. She acts
the part of the thing he wants her to be. As shocking as these men s observations may sound to
those who think prostitution is like the movie Pretty Woman, their descriptions closely match
women s descriptions of prostitution. The women explain to us how it feels to be treated like a
rented organ. It is internally damaging. You become in your own mind what these people do and
say with you. You wonder how could you let yourself do this and why do these people want to do
this to you.
Mothers who sell sex for a living face a whole different style of life work balance. From dealing
with judgmental teachers to faking orgasms before the kids get home from school, it is one of
the difficulties of living a double life. people seem to look at them differently, just because of the
lifestyle they live; wish is morally wrong. As a child, it is sad to see your mom work as a
prostitute. you start to get inbarrist to be seeing with her. wondering how can she allow herself to
sleep with so many men. you start to believe that she doesn t have any respect for herself because

The Governor Of Southern-Bough Summary
In the story, The Governor of Southern Bough, a man goes through a series of events that reflect
the views of Confucianism. Within the stories, the philosophy of Confucianism is being stated
through out the story by the relationships between the characters. The five basic human
relationships can be seen in these examples below.
1.The emperor and minister relationship can be seen on page 284 of the text with the conversation
Chunyu Fen has with the king. Now that he had to put up with groundless complaints and
defamation, he was very unhappy , this quote shows his obligation and respect that he has for the
current king. Even with all the hard work he did in Southern kingdom he did not let this inflate his
ego. He remind loyal to the king that has given Chunyu Fen his position of power.

Older brother and younger brother relationships does not go into great details in the story, but it is
mentioned briefly on page 283. In the text it stated, In those years, Chunyu Fen had five sons and
five daughters. The sons were all given positions by means of the official hereditary benefits, the
daughters all got engaged with sons related to the royal family . This text shows the rank the family
system has from sons to daughters.
5.The friend and friend connections is the last relationship in Confucianism. This relationship is
one based on trust . The second paragraph on page 282 is Chunyu Fen given the king all the reason
he trust Zhou Bian and Tian Zihua. Chunyu Fen trust these individuals based on their skills and ho
long the group has been friend for ten years.
In the end of the story, when Chunyu Fen returns from the Southern Bough, this is more of a
personal change in his life. After his friends death Chunyu Fen did not drink and have sex (pp.
286). The change in his life was a way for Chunyu Fen to find balance in his life from all the bad
choices he made in his younger years. So, this moment reflects Taoism more than

You Dont Mess With The Zohan Stereotypes
You Don t Mess with the Zohan, directed by Dennis Dugan and starring Adam Sandler (Zohan

Zohan is a super skilled Israeli who fights for justice against the Palestinians (terrorists). The
movie starts off with a scene where Zohan is walking with swagger on the beach. Everyone is
cheering him on from all sides. The camera angle makes the viewer look up at him walking,
which reinforces the fact that this person is special. Zohan then plays a game called hackysack.
He shows off his many cool tricks. This game is well known in the Middle East and Zohan proves
how amazing he is. Then, Zohan is doing tug a war against three men while he has a girl on his
shoulder. He wins the match of course. After that, he even beats an ox with ease. This shows his

males, two years for females. Zohan hates the idea of returning to duty. He already captured a

transactions happen many times between Israel and the Middle East. Zohan is upset that Israel
freed a veteran terrorist in order to free one of their spies. During this meeting, Zohan pulls out a
candy bar that says chocolochum. This makes fun of the way Israelis pronounce the ch in many
words. Then he is offered a drink called fizzy bubbala. This is a play on the Israeli

The Taliban inflicted a reign even more brutal and fundamentalist than that of Hekmatyar.
Unlike Hekmatyar, the Taliban differed in their hopes for a ban on opium, expressly for
religious reasons and likely to suppress the finances of their rival warlords. The Taliban initially
implemented an opium ban after gaining power, but the policy was quickly overturned because
they feared a violent uprising by the masses. After all, an Afghan farmer can make $10,000 a
year with opium compared to about $400 a year with legal crops. As a result, Afghanistan
remained the primary source for the global heroin supply. However, the Taliban eventually
decided to reinstate the ban on opium in 2000 in hopes that their government would gain
international recognition. Accordingly, the Taliban strictly enforced the new policy and opium
production was reduced by 96% within a year. Consequently, the U.S. government rewarded the
Taliban in May of 2001 with $43 million for their opium elimination efforts. Peter Dale Scott
noted in Drugs, Oil, and War that in 2001, after the Taliban s opium ban, 90% of the remaining
supply was controlled by a U.S. ally, the Northern Alliance. Consequently, the supply of Afghan
opium exploded in the aftermath of 9/11 because the White House was determined not to make the
same mistakes as the Soviets with a wide scale conventional war. This was a war led

They amassed a fortune that outraged a Democratic nation, then gave it all away reshaping

Oil was being used to grease the wheels of America s infant industries, to fuel the expansion of
growth. Rockefeller lamented that so many wells were flowing that the price of oil kept falling yet
everyone went right on drilling. He saw an industry plagued from overproduction and his own
success was being threatened by ruinness cut throat competition. John D. was shrewd enough and
he was analytical enough that he realized that in order to figure out a way to save his own firm and
his own newly won fortune, that he had to figure out a solution for the entire industry. It was at that
point that John D. began to conceive of the oil industry as one big interrelated mechanism. And you
couldn t just change one component, you had to control the entire machine.
In a move that would transform the American economy, Rockefeller set out to replace a world of
independent oilmen with a giant company controlled by him. In l870, begging bankers for more
loans, he formed Standard Oil of Ohio. The next year, he quietly put what he called our plan his
campaign to dominate the volatile oil industry into devastating effect. Rockefeller knew that the

The Political Problems Of Burma
Burma, also known as Myanmar, has been independent since 1948 and is involved in one of the
world s longest on going civil war. The British and Japanese occupation from 1924 to 1948
exacerbated tensions between ethnic groups. The country is also characterised by its unstable
political regime, mainly military ones, and its diverse ethnic background. The main ethnic groupare
the Bamar and occupy 60% of the land (Laoutsides and Ware, 2016). But no less than 135
ethnicities occupy the 40% left. Identity in the country is seen as the main explanation as to why
the country cannot solve its political problems and is in constant conflict. We can wonder however
to what extent can the conflict be understood by solely focusing on identity.
If identity is an important factor in the emergence of tensions it is only one facet of the problem.
Alternative theories to the identity explanation on the causes of civil war are polarised between
grievance and greed theories (Ballentine and Nitzschke, 2003). However, it is possible to have a
complete understanding of the causes and dynamics of ethnic conflict when combining these two
set of theories together. Conflict arises from the grievance of an ethnic group but is then maintained
by the actors greed.
First, we will see the limits of identity theory in explaining ethnic conflicts using the example of
Burma. Then we will see how grievances can initiate conflict and how the greed theory explains
why it then persists. Finally, we will apply our

Three Musketeers Thesis
One for all, and all for one! The most famous and noticeable line in the Three Musketeers folklore
legacy whether it be from the films to the original book by Alexandre Dumas. Although this famous
line has been used throughout many reworks and adaptations of the three musketeers, many films
have not followed in the footsteps of the original book and have changed things to best appeal to
the audience. Most noticeably we see this in the 1993 Musketeer movie directed by Stephen Herek
that proclaimed that the main character D Artagnan, father was killed to set a tense mood. However
with that being said, there are also many things that reflect the time in which the book was written

As previously mentioned, the hierarchy of which the French population was separated was from
that of religious figures being the highest to common folk were placed at the rock bottom of the

were trading their crops for money or buying them among themself to live off of. France just like
any other place during this time in Europe and also worldwide was mostly agricultural as the first
industrial revolution started in the 1700 s by that of England first. With that being said the
implementation of showing the countryside and the social interactions between D artagnan and the
locals was another way that Stephen Herek subtly shown how France was during this time.
Ironically the whole plot of the Three Musketeers is a socio political statement in itself. If not
understood by reading the book by Alexandre Dumas and watching the films, the main plot is that
Cardinal Richelieu plots against the king of France, Louis XIII. In particular this film puts it in
which Cardinal Richelieu plots to form an alliance with England as France is about to go to war.

The episode Harley and Ivy from Batman the Animated Series is full of interesting ideas and
exciting calls to action for its audience. Poison Ivy and her adventures with Harley Quinn not only
explore what it means to be a virtuous character but also question what it means to be and

and throughout the entire. While the author of the episode, Paul Dini, and the director of the
episode, Boyd Kirkland, do not tackle the feminist goals of this episode in totally flawless ways,
they still do a good job of using Poison Ivy s character to asks the audience, specifically the female
audience, to encourage female friendship, fight sexism, and questions genderroles and what it
means to be a virtuous and empowered woman. In this episode Harley and Ivy become partners in
crime, but they also become living partners in Ivy s home, they seem to enjoy sharing the space and
are seen drinking coffee together among other homey activities. In the scenes when they are home
together, they both looked relaxed, comfortable, and happy with each other. Neither of them wear
any of their regular villain outfits, but instead trade their crime causing fashion for big comfy t

factors and parameters by representing it on a tabular manner. I.INTRODUCTION Today, the
data consumption rate is tremendously expanding, the amount of data generated and stored is
nearly imperceivable and highly growing. Big data that is nothing but a large volume of
unstructured or structured data that runs in and out in to a business on daily basis. This big
data is analyzed in order to achieve prominent business growth and improved business strategies
[1]. Every year there is at least 40% increase in the amount of data growth on global level,
leading to which companies have started adopting new data analytic techniques and tools and
also have stepped ahead moving their data towards the cloud for their big data analytic
requirements and for better analysis.[3][2] In big data analysis it is not the amount of data that is
essential but how efficiently we handle, process and analyze it is the key factor. Big data analysis
doesn t revolve around how much data we occupy, it deals with how well you make use

Groopman s Essay On Immunotherapy
Groopman s essay is a collection of case studies and anecdotes assembled to provide a chronology
on immunotherapy as a potentially viable treatment for cancer. One of the prevalent notions that
arises from his work is centered on the impact of pharmaceutical desires with regards to medical
research. Often in the essaythe directions or methods of research are coerced to change towards
the end of pleasing large pharmaceutical companies or other sources of capital. By enabling a
cycle of monetary allocations dictating scientific research and not the other way around, as it
objectively should be the potential of less conventional or longer term research cannot hope to be
realized, as the research is stunted in its infancy if it does not look auspicious in the short term for
financial returns. The same backwards process can be found in statistics based fields, as companies

Similarly to the development of theories of consciousness detailed in Miller s essay, time was
needed in the case of immunotherapy between periods of discovery for the available technology
to be able to support new discoveries and techniques. Coley first began his work with
immunotherapy in 1891, Nixon declared cancer would be cured within a decade in 1971, and
Hammer made Nixon s old and unfulfilled promise his new goal in 1988. However, the actual
technology to make immunotherapy potentially viable did not exist during any of those periods. It
was not until recently that the techniques thought essential to making the practice work were
deemed to be in existence as, in 2011, Cheever said, All of the components needed for effective
immunotherapy have been invented, (Groopman, 111). Thus, regardless of the quality of ideas and
research surrounding immunotherapy, until quite recently it was not possible to execute those
ideas in a manner conducive to effective treatments or

How Blood And The Body Is Made Up Of Many Different...
Blood Disorders

October 13, 2014
The blood in the body is made up of many different components. The components of the blood
include red blood cells, plasma, and platelets, each having a specific function. In this paper I will
explain the difference between the three and the specific function they carry out within the human
body, as well as how the relate to the scenarios in this week s assignment. Red blood cells are the
most needed of the three components. Basically, the main purpose of red blood cells is to
transport oxygen throughout the body (BloodSource, 2014). A person who is experiencing
extreme blood loss would definitely need red blood cells in order to survive. The liquid part ... Show

Iron deficiency anemia is due to an insufficient amount of iron (Mayo Clinic, 2014). If there is a
lack of iron the body cannot produce enough substance in red blood cells in order to transport
oxygen (Mayo Clinic, 2014). As with any condition there are always symptoms. The symptoms
for iron deficiency anemia includes extreme fatigue, pale skin, weakness, shortness of breath,
chest pains, frequent infections, headaches, dizziness, cold and feet, poor appetite and the list
goes on (Mayo Clinic, 2014). All of Lily s symptoms can be compared with the ones that I just
mentioned. Despite the symptoms iron deficiency anemia can usually be corrected with iron
supplements. However, it is important that Lily s mother takes her to see a doctor so that she
can be properly diagnosed before giving her any types of supplements. There maybe be other
test or treatments that the doctor may want to perform. Next there is Davon, a 5 year old
African American male who carries the sickle cell trait. There are many individuals with the
sickle disease. However, those of African descent such as Davon are affected more and are at
greater risk for having this trait. People who have the sickle cell trait inherit the gene from one or
both of their parents (CDC, 2013). People with the sickle trait have one sickle cell gene and one

Clinical Indicators For Heart Failure
Clinical Indicators for Heart Failure Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United
States and the estimated cost of treatment is $32 billion yearly. Approximately 5 million people
living in the United States suffer from congestive heart failure (CHF) and half of those diagnosed
will die within 5 years. The quality and length of life for someone suffering from heart failure can
be improved with early diagnosis, medication, physical activity, and diet modification (CDC, 2013).
Congestive heart failure continues to account for more health care cost and readmissions than any
other illness. The increase in the prevalence of CHF is contributed to the percentage of elderly
population. Adherence to performance measures can increase patient outcomes (Mazimba, Grant,
Parikh, Mwandia, Makola, Chilomo, Redko, Hahn, 2012). Performance Measures Improving
quality of health care for patients being discharged from the hospital with heart failure requires
performance measures. A number of cardiac care programs have combined improvement
interventions with clinical indicators to close the gaps between routine patient care and evidence
based care (Hickey, Scott, Denaro, Stewart, Bennett, Theile, 2004). Process indicators are mainly
aimed at improving clinical activities and assess what the health care team did for the patient
(Wollersheim, Hermens, Hulscher, Braspenning, Ouwens, Schouten, Marres, Dijkstra, Grol, 2007).

From the theories of Sigmund Freud to humanistic theories of personality, how one views others
greatly influences how one sees the world and vice versa. Because the theories are so different
some suggesting that human nature is ill, evil, or bad, while others believe it is intrinsically good it
is easy to see why people s views of others and the world are so different. However, each person has
a single theory or belief that influences the way they others. For me, that theory is Carl Rogers

Pop Art Research Paper
Notably Pop Art and Assemblages have been described as brash and also extreme and subversive
in terms of the sixties pop art period. Some early stirrings of this movement can be traced back to
England in the late fifties, with a small association of: artists, designers and historians known as the
ICA. Institutes of Contemporary Art, London. Given the intellectual approach to science, cultureand
material s being explored within these early beginning s. It became evident that the robust influence
of Dada elements, were being manipulated into the pop movement. This necessary development, in

This being said indicates that Pop art could be seen as one of those crossover movements. The
confusion and extreme madness of colour and space show events of the Dada influence.
Investigating the historical and cultural issues could be the starting point for many artworks and

artwork or movement. However the point of art, to get a respond either being good or bad... If
you have serious ideas, you make art, discoveries, and all of a sudden your head starts to break

God reveals to Isaac the son of Abraham the land that will be given to the children of Israel.
This chapter clearly defines the land given to Jacob. We see that from the brook of
Egypt (river Nile) unto the river Euphrates the land was given to the children of Israel.
Jacob was renamed to the name of Israel by G d Almighty.
We see were Esau took the silver and gold and much cattle.
Esau returned to the land of Mount Seir which we believe to be towards modern day Jordan.

What Are The Major Inventions Of Ancient China
There were several important inventions during medieval times in Ancient China, but there were
three key inventions that advanced Chinese culture. China is very popular when it comes to
inventing, and making items that help make life easier, so it s not surprising when you hear of
China inventing something new. Those three inventions were, the umbrella, compass, and the
moveable type printing technique. By researching Chinese culture, I found that these three
inventions, helped the Chinese culture advance in many ways. The Umbrella, was invented by a
man named Lu Ban, in the 1400 s. He made the umbrella by making a flexible framework, covered
by a cloth. The umbrella helped the chinese have shelter from the rain, they would also use them

The Performance Of Premier League Football Teams
Is there any correlation between changing managers and football clubs results? Managers often
find themselves being sacked and replaced, sometimes only lasting a matter of days before
having to move on. In this essay I will be investigating the performance of Premier League
football teams, both with a change of manager and without, to see if there is evidence of a
correlation between the changing managers and the results of football clubs. A look at the data
from the past three seasons shows that Manchester City was consistently ranked in the top three
on the league table. In earlier years though, they were not as successful. For example, in 2009,
they came 10th. Upon changing manager, in 2010 they climbed 5 places, making it to 2nd by
2013. Finally, when Manuel Pellegrini took over for the 2013/2014, they made it to 1st place. For
this team, it can be assumed that a change in manager led to better results. Another strong team
according to data is Chelsea . In 2013, when Rafael Benitez was manager, they finished in 3rd
place. They then changed manager, to JosГ© Mourinho, finishing 2nd in 2014, and 1st in 2015.
These teams show evidence that a change in manager was beneficial, as they showed improvement
when this occurred. Southampton also appears to prove correlation between a change in
management and the team s outcomes. In 2012, with Nigel Adkins, they placed 14th at the end of
the season. When Mauricio Pochettino came into control in 2013, they jumped up to 8th in

Biotic Factors In Hawaii
Plants are found everywhere on earth, up high on the ridge and down low in caves and caverns.
The types of plants that live in these places depends on many factors. These factors are separated
into two different categories, the biotic factors and the abiotic factors. Some of the biotic factors
include, predation, competition, and habitat destruction. Plants with limited competition and large
amounts of resources will be in a higher abundance than plants with limited resources and higher
competition rates will be confined to areas and either out competed or will be the dominant species.
Certain plants adapt to these factors and thrive and others don t do as well. Some of the abiotic
factors include, sunlight, water, temperature, and wind. These... Show more content on

The ridge is known as an endangered dry ridge hike, for its endemic species and dry climate
(Nelson 2003). The ridge trail starts on dole street near the university of Hawaii at Manoa. From
the campus, the ridge seems dry and grassy and it is expected as a dry leeward side ridge. This
ridge is also known for its brush fires during the hot seasons, the most recent being the fire in
2007. The fire left 50 acre of the ridge scorched and burned to the ground (Siopack 2007). But,
now in 2016 there has been an increasing amount of rain and the ridge has since begun to heal
since the fire. The beginning of the trail starts off dry with rocky soil and the dominant
vegetation being the M. maximus that has a yellow brownish color. The vegetation isn t
completely covering the soil; it is mostly clumped together. As you continue to move up the trail
the vegetation starts to get a little greener and thicker. The M. maximus gets thicker, greener,
and more dominant. The soil is still rocky and dry, but there are a few different species such as the
air plants and small shrubs. More of a change is seen further up the ridge once you are out of the
tall grasses. The land is moister and has a wide range of tree species and woody area. There was an
abundance of Haole Koa trees, thorny bastards, all spice, and strawberry guava. It was a large

Social Disruption Of Women In Germany
This government created a society that encouraged a New Women encouraging women to break
free of their traditional roles in the pre war time period. The Weimer Constitution granted women
suffrage, being one of the only nations allowing women voters. College education was for the first
time accessible to women and for many it was the first time participating in politics. Berlin, and
other big German metropolitan cities, was the hubcap of this liberal movement; here, modern styles
of dress and feminist thought became popular. Due to the significant depletion of men in society
due to the war, in 1919 almost a 2 million surplus of women to men, women began taking on

Tyranny of Andrew Jackson
The Tyranny of Andrew Jackson
Andrew Jackson: the common man or the first king of America? He is viewed by history in
many different ways, some see him as the man who granted universal white male suffrage,
created a more democratic way to elect electoral voters to congress and replaced caucuses with
national nominating conventions; and others, who saw past this false representation and saw how
in his eight years in office, he vetoed 12 bills, forced Native Americans from their homeland,
ignored supreme court decisions and let his personal life affect his presidential decisions. Jackson,
as captured in his portrait in the National Portrait gallery was a stern man with a strong sense of
self reliance. And while these qualities can be seen as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, when introduced the Maysville Road Bill, he was quick to shoot it down. Behind the
Bill was Henry Clay, a politician from Kentucky. In previous years, Clay had earned credit from
Jackson s faults and publicly said that Jackson s part in the Trail of Tears stained the national
honor. The Maysville Road Bill was a plan to build a twenty mile stretch of highway within Clay
s home state of Kentucky. Jackson vetoed it after it had been passed by congress, declaring that
the bill violated the economic affairs of the government and would put America is greater financial
crisis. In reality, it was a personal attack against Henry Clay (Van Deusen 52 54).
Despite Jackson s support for the growth and prosper of the West, both he and his constituents
lobbied to raise tariffs on imported textiles such as fur, flax, hemp, liquor and wool to about 50
percent their intended value. The increase of prices from other countries was greatly beneficial to
the Northern economy, who were able to sell more of their products, but detrimental to the South.
Because the South simply produced raw goods, it was essential that they imported manufactured
goods for their general well being. This tariff not only threatened to reduce the flow of goods from
Britain, but the loss of money made it difficult for them to purchase raw materials. Representative
of South Carolina and long time foe of Jackson, John C Calhoun spoke

why did the Mynas have such fascination with Venus, next will be the atmosphere, followed by its

There are some characteristics that Venus does have on the ground. More than a thousand
volcanoes or volcanic centers larger than 12 miles (20 kilometers) in diameter dot the surface of
Venus. Volcanic flows have produced long, sinuous channels extending for hundreds of kilometers.
(Science.NationalGeographic.com para. 8 n.d). The landmass on Venus is potholed by small
craters by meteor or comet strikes. Most of Venus is covered with smooth volcanic plains, with
two large continents standing out. Ishtar Terra lies to the north, covering an area approximately
the size of Australia, while the Africa sized Aphrodite Terra lies just south of the equator. (Reed
para. 4 2012). Unfortunately not much is known about the surface features, however, we know
there are wind swept dunes and volcanoes. The land masses on Venus unlike Earth does not sit on
hard rock or water like the continents do on the Earth and Mars; Venus however, is far too hot for
water and heavy metals would melt due to the heat. The continents on Venus float on liquid magma.

How Social Media Campaign Helps The Tourism Industry Essay Table of Contents Introduction2 1.0 SMART objective3 2.0 Target audience5 3.0 Brand Partners6 4.0 Platforms7 5.0 Content8 6.0 Measurement10 7.0 Calendar12 Conclusion13 References:14 Bibliography:16 Introduction Social media campaigns provide an insight into the competitive market to improve the communication and the brand identity of an organisation (Keller, 2014). In the case of the tourism industry, social media like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter help firms to expand their brand reach by building a relationship with customers through an open conversation process (Ammerman, 2015). A social media campaign helps the tourism industry to achieve more customer satisfaction and loyalty. Considering the words of Ramaseshan and Stein (2014), it is essential for a social media campaign to select a suitable social media platform for engaging the customers with the right choice of messages. Therefore, a tactical plan for a social media campaign is going to be developed for Shropshire Hills Tourism, UK. The tactical plan attempts to create potential leads by developing a photography competition campaign on Facebook. 1.0 SMART objective Specific Shropshire Hills Tourism in the UK is planning to promote its photography competition campaign on the social media sites. • 3. Literary Explication Of Shakespeare s Sonnet 130 Literary Explication When thinking of a love poem, one thinks of a clichГ© description of the speaker s lover or maybe is an imaginative portrayal of love in a general sense. Love poems always have an exaggerating characteristic when describing something or someone. Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare, is a parody of love poetry; love is not always like it is illustrated in others contemporaries poems. The author of this sonnet uses the traditional English sonnet form, containing fourteen lines, written in iambic pentameter, and has an ABABCDCDEFEFGG rhyme scheme. The sonnet s form is part of the parody because usually love sonnets writers use traditional sonnet forms, an example for this is Francesco Petrarch that is well known for his love sonnets written in Italian sonnet form. Shakespeare makes the contradiction between a traditional sonnet form and a non traditional content of the sonnet. The content of this sonnet, a decretory description of the speaker s lover, is very opposite to a traditional love poem s content. In the first three quatrains of Sonnet 130 , the speaker compares his mistress with various thing and tells us how she doesn t measures up to them. In the last couplet the speaker changes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Love poets seem to obsess with woman s appearances, but Shakespeare mange to poke on that obsession, making this poem kind of a wakeup call on our image of beauty. As the speaker lightly mocks traditional poems and beauty images, he turns the theme to an illustration of true love, ending the poem on a sweet note. By turning the theme he goes from the person who he is mocking other poets to the poet he has mocked all along. This couplet also sends the message that even in a poem where he is mocking other poets he need to express his true feeling about his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Tar Syndrome Research Paper Thrombocytopenia with absent radius (TAR) syndrome is a rare genetic disorder within the human body. TAR syndrome is defined by an absence of the radius in both forearms. This disorder comes with a range of debilitating effects. Many children diagnosed do not survive infancy. TAR syndrome is caused by an absence of the 1, 1q21.1 chromosome. This deletion is also found in 32% of unaffected family members. (Thomas, 2008) Because of the unaffected family members it indicates there must be an additional modifier to cause a diagnosed patient. In 2012, it was discovered TAR syndrome was a recessive condition, and instead of deleting the entire chromosome it only partially removes the production of the protein Y14. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration University of Rochester February 1999, revised February 2002. 1 2 netessin@wharton.upenn.edu shumsky@simon.rochester.edu 1. Introduction A variety of concepts and analytical tools fall under the label yield management. The term is used in many service industries to describe techniques to allocate limited resources, such as airplane seats or hotel rooms, among a variety of customers, such as business or leisure travelers. Since these techniques are used by firms with extremely perishable goods, or by firms with services that cannot be stored at all, these concepts and tools ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The hotel could sell out all 210 rooms to leisure travelers at the discount price, but it also knows that an increasing number of business customers will request rooms as March 29 approaches and that these business customers are willing to pay full price. To simplify our problem, let us assume that leisure demand occurs first and then business demand occurs. Hence we must decide how many rooms we are willing to sell at the leisure fare or in other words, how many rooms shall we protect (i.e., reserve) for the full price payers. If too many rooms are protected, then there may be empty rooms when March 29 arrives. If too few are protected, then the hotel forgoes the extra revenue it may have received from business customers. Notice we assume that the hotel can charge two different prices for the same product (a room). To separate the two customer segments with two different demand curves, the hotel introduces price discrimination. In the hotel example, we assume that the firm can charge different prices to business and leisure customers 4 . In order to differentiate between these two groups, a firm often introduces booking rules. For example, a 3 Saturday night stay may be required to receive a discounted room on Monday, since business travelers are less likely to stay over the weekend. Again, leisure customers are more price sensitive so the hotel wishes to sell as many rooms to business custome rs at a higher price as possible while keeping room utilization ... There is, however, not one perfect word that can really describe this group. The only word that comes close to perfect in describing The Whatever is different . The Whatever is one of the 300+ organizations at Baylor University. Despite the vast number of organizations, The Whatever is unlike any other organization on campus because of its challenging and welcoming atmosphere, in addition, its diverse list of events leaves a place for everyone in this unique group. Bored is the last word any member of The Whatever would say. Weekly meetings are not even called meetings, but rather Happenings , while events on the weekends are named Excursions .... (Mathis) Out of all of The Whatever s various missions, the most important, as stated by Mathis is spread the love . (Mathis) The Whatever is no home to loneness, worry, fear, or doubt. • 8. Literature Review Of Contemporary Literature On... LITERATURE REVIEW This chapter is a review of relevant literature on distributive justice. The chapter enables the researcher to examine the level of literary works on the subject matter of the study. It adopts a thematic method in its approach, namely: justice in general; theories of justice; theories and principles of distributive justice; distributive justice and the common good; distributive justice and private ownership of property; distributive justice and charity; distributive justice in relation to politics and religion; and distributive justice and peace. 2.1Justice in General Justice seems to be variously applied by different scholars. However, no matter how they try to use the concept, it does not exclude the fact that events affecting others follow a constituted order which must be followed. Richard McBrien in his book, Catholicism, sees Justice as an English translation of the Latin word ius, which means right ; this right, according to him, is a power to do things which are necessary for achieving the end or purpose for which one is destined as rational and free persons. (943 944). He stresses that justice is not only about one s rights, it is also concerned with duties which correspond to those rights, and emphasises the fact that a person s rights are limited by the existence of other people s rights (943). However, Dokun Oyeshola in his book, Conflict and Context of Conflict Resolution, argues that justice is not monolithic, and thus has various interpretations: Those who speak of justice in terms of property rights are bound to be in opposition to those who speak of the need for an environmental justice or social justice. Those who believe that resources should be distributed equally will see different solutions as just than will those who believe resources should be distributed according to the need (214). In spite of the difficulty surrounding the general and universal interpretation of the word justice, he postulates two principles: macro and micro justice principles. For him, macro justice principle is concerned with the welfare of the group, while micro justice is centred on the welfare of the individual (215). He also believes that the two principles are not mutually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sometimes there are virtual study hall days on the ends of marking periods or progress checks though, and those let students work on past assignments without having to work on new lessons. The thing is, they don t have them every end of marking period or progress check. One thing I think that would make progress checks and marking periods less stressful would be to have virtual study halls every end of marking period/progress check, so let s look at some ways a study hall would be beneficial to students and teachers alike! So first of all, teachers would have a better day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the time marking periods and progress checks are very stressful. But if there was a virtual study hall day at the end of every marking period/progress check, it would make things a lot easier for the students. Students would only have to work on past assignments and would also want to work harder so they can have the day off. Who knows, maybe they would even want to work ahead on lessons, too. Finally, students would be able to complete all their work on time. It would allow students with lessons that have piled up over time to be able to get them done. It would also mean less assignments due. In the end it,would probably just amount to more students getting assignments finished before the due date. Because of this study hall days would most likely help lots of students. On the other hand, teachers have to post a certain amount of lessons each year. There could be times; an individual would desire to fit in and belong to be like others. The Taliban initially implemented an opium ban after gaining power, but the policy was quickly overturned because they feared a violent uprising by the masses. After all, an Afghan farmer can make $10,000 a year with opium compared to about $400 a year with legal crops. As a result, Afghanistan remained the primary source for the global heroin supply. However, the Taliban eventually decided to reinstate the ban on opium in 2000 in hopes that their government would gain international recognition. Accordingly, the Taliban strictly enforced the new policy and opium production was reduced by 96% within a year. Consequently, the U.S. government rewarded the Taliban in May of 2001 with $43 million for their opium elimination efforts. Peter Dale Scott noted in Drugs, Oil, and War that in 2001, after the Taliban s opium ban, 90% of the remaining supply was controlled by a U.S. ally, the Northern Alliance. Consequently, the supply of Afghan opium exploded in the aftermath of 9/11 because the White House was determined not to make the same mistakes as the Soviets with a wide scale conventional war. Heroes can be defined by many different standards and are people of great character, who spend their lives doing what they can to help others in need. Everyone has his or her favorite hero, my favorite hero is one that is little known but to me is a true inspiration. My hero is Rolf Benirschke. He is my hero for the courage, inspiration, and help that his words provided me when I was recovering from lifesaving surgery. I do not know Rolf, I do not know if I ever will get to meet him, but one thing I do know is that he had to fight the same life changing illness that I did, Ulcerative Colitis. This provided the relationship and admiration that I have with and for him as my hero. First, Rolf Benirschke was a normal every day young man who had a family and normal upbringing, just like me. Rolf has a good build, he is skinny, tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes. Throughout high school, college, and into his profession, Rolf s life seemed to be just like every other normal person. He was drafted into the National Football League (NFL) to be a kicker. Soon after he began his third season as a kicker in the NFL, Rolf fainted on the team plane. When he woke up he was in a hospital with tubes connected all to his body and he was confused. Rolf was diagnosed with a gastrointestinal disease called Ulcerative Colitis. They amassed a fortune that outraged a Democratic nation, then gave it all away reshaping America. They were the closest thing the country had to a royal family, but the Rockefellers shunned the public eye. For decades, the Rockefeller name was despised in America, associated with John D. Rockefeller lamented that so many wells were flowing that the price of oil kept falling yet everyone went right on drilling. He saw an industry plagued from overproduction and his own success was being threatened by ruinness cut throat competition. John D. was shrewd enough and he was analytical enough that he realized that in order to figure out a way to save his own firm and his own newly won fortune, that he had to figure out a solution for the entire industry. It was at that point that John D. began to conceive of the oil industry as one big interrelated mechanism. And you couldn t just change one component, you had to control the entire machine. In a move that would transform the American economy, Rockefeller set out to replace a world of independent oilmen with a giant company controlled by him. In l870, begging bankers for more loans, he formed Standard Oil of Ohio. The next year, he quietly put what he called our plan his campaign to dominate the volatile oil industry into devastating effect. The British and Japanese occupation from 1924 to 1948 exacerbated tensions between ethnic groups. The country is also characterised by its unstable political regime, mainly military ones, and its diverse ethnic background. The main ethnic groupare the Bamar and occupy 60% of the land (Laoutsides and Ware, 2016). But no less than 135 ethnicities occupy the 40% left. Identity in the country is seen as the main explanation as to why the country cannot solve its political problems and is in constant conflict. We can wonder however to what extent can the conflict be understood by solely focusing on identity. If identity is an important factor in the emergence of tensions it is only one facet of the problem. Alternative theories to the identity explanation on the causes of civil war are polarised between grievance and greed theories (Ballentine and Nitzschke, 2003). However, it is possible to have a complete understanding of the causes and dynamics of ethnic conflict when combining these two set of theories together. Conflict arises from the grievance of an ethnic group but is then maintained by the actors greed. First, we will see the limits of identity theory in explaining ethnic conflicts using the example of Burma. Then we will see how grievances can initiate conflict and how the greed theory explains why it then persists. Finally, we will apply our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The episode Harley and Ivy from Batman the Animated Series is full of interesting ideas and exciting calls to action for its audience. Poison Ivy and her adventures with Harley Quinn not only explore what it means to be a virtuous character but also question what it means to be and independent and strong woman. Ivy specifically acts as the main example of female empowerment and throughout the entire. While the author of the episode, Paul Dini, and the director of the episode, Boyd Kirkland, do not tackle the feminist goals of this episode in totally flawless ways, they still do a good job of using Poison Ivy s character to asks the audience, specifically the female audience, to encourage female friendship, fight sexism, and questions genderroles and what it means to be a virtuous and empowered woman. In this episode Harley and Ivy become partners in crime, but they also become living partners in Ivy s home, they seem to enjoy sharing the space and are seen drinking coffee together among other homey activities. In the scenes when they are home together, they both looked relaxed, comfortable, and happy with each other. Neither of them wear any of their regular villain outfits, but instead trade their crime causing fashion for big comfy t shirts. Managers often find themselves being sacked and replaced, sometimes only lasting a matter of days before having to move on. In this essay I will be investigating the performance of Premier League football teams, both with a change of manager and without, to see if there is evidence of a correlation between the changing managers and the results of football clubs. A look at the data from the past three seasons shows that Manchester City was consistently ranked in the top three on the league table. In earlier years though, they were not as successful. For example, in 2009, they came 10th. Upon changing manager, in 2010 they climbed 5 places, making it to 2nd by 2013. Finally, when Manuel Pellegrini took over for the 2013/2014, they made it to 1st place. For this team, it can be assumed that a change in manager led to better results. Another strong team according to data is Chelsea . In 2013, when Rafael Benitez was manager, they finished in 3rd place. They then changed manager, to JosГ© Mourinho, finishing 2nd in 2014, and 1st in 2015. These teams show evidence that a change in manager was beneficial, as they showed improvement when this occurred. Southampton also appears to prove correlation between a change in management and the team s outcomes. In 2012, with Nigel Adkins, they placed 14th at the end of the season. • 55. Tyranny of Andrew Jackson The Tyranny of Andrew Jackson Andrew Jackson: the common man or the first king of America? He is viewed by history in many different ways, some see him as the man who granted universal white male suffrage, created a more democratic way to elect electoral voters to congress and replaced caucuses with national nominating conventions; and others, who saw past this false representation and saw how in his eight years in office, he vetoed 12 bills, forced Native Americans from their homeland, ignored supreme court decisions and let his personal life affect his presidential decisions. Jackson, as captured in his portrait in the National Portrait gallery was a stern man with a strong sense of self reliance. And while these qualities can be seen as ... In previous years, Clay had earned credit from Jackson s faults and publicly said that Jackson s part in the Trail of Tears stained the national honor. The Maysville Road Bill was a plan to build a twenty mile stretch of highway within Clay s home state of Kentucky. Jackson vetoed it after it had been passed by congress, declaring that the bill violated the economic affairs of the government and would put America is greater financial crisis. In reality, it was a personal attack against Henry Clay (Van Deusen 52 54). Despite Jackson s support for the growth and prosper of the West, both he and his constituents lobbied to raise tariffs on imported textiles such as fur, flax, hemp, liquor and wool to about 50 percent their intended value. The increase of prices from other countries was greatly beneficial to the Northern economy, who were able to sell more of their products, but detrimental to the South. Because the South simply produced raw goods, it was essential that they imported manufactured goods for their general well being. This tariff not only threatened to reduce the flow of goods from Britain, but the loss of money made it difficult for them to purchase raw materials. Volcanic flows have produced long, sinuous channels extending for hundreds of kilometers. (Science.NationalGeographic.com para. 8 n.d). The landmass on Venus is potholed by small craters by meteor or comet strikes. Most of Venus is covered with smooth volcanic plains, with two large continents standing out. Ishtar Terra lies to the north, covering an area approximately the size of Australia, while the Africa sized Aphrodite Terra lies just south of the equator. (Reed para. 4 2012). Unfortunately not much is known about the surface features, however, we know there are wind swept dunes and volcanoes. The land masses on Venus unlike Earth does not sit on hard rock or water like the continents do on the Earth and Mars; Venus however, is far too hot for water and heavy metals would melt due to the heat. The continents on Venus float on liquid magma. Some scientists theorize that 500 million years ago an incident happened that stopped any kind of plate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
