continual understocking throughout the year and resulted in no inventory at the end of the year.
The Market Survey was used this year to help successfully estimate the demand.
Similar to year one, a change order was necessary to avoid understocking of Model A.
Year Three
In year three, forecasting was altered to prevent stockout of Model A. As a result, both Model A and
Model B stocks were unutilized.
I did not change order in year three. Looking back, a change order would have helped decrease
production of Model B due to outside factors that foresaw the decrease in demand.
Year Four
During year four, I chose a careful forecast for Model B. The main reason for this was due to the high
standard deviation in forecast demand.
The on shore production facilities had a 100 percent utilization, which meant the demand for Model B
would not increase immediately. Therefore, outsourced facilities had to be utilized, resulting in a big
lead time. Furthermore, I needed to use the extra production facility that I had not used in the previous
years.
In this year, Model B saw a big amount of stockouts, therefore, there had to be a decrease in
production of Model A to make room for Model B; this was not effective.
