2. One visual arts position that I would love to land within five years would be Editor in Chief of a magazine.
Not just any magazine, but a magazine in the likes of Complex Magazine, GQ, or Esquire. The reason I chose
magazines like this would be because I have a great passion for music, fashion, art, and culture.
3. I would be the publication's primary head, having final responsibility for all the operations and
policies. I will head all the departments of the organization. Additionally, I would be held
accountable for delegating tasks to staff members as well as keeping up with the time it takes
them to complete their task.
4. Cross-checking facts, spelling, grammar, writing style, design pages and
photos;
Rejecting writing that appears to be plagiarized, ghost-written by another
sub-editor, previously published elsewhere, or simply of insufficient interest
to the readers of the publication;
Editing any content in question;
Contributing editorial pieces;
Motivating and developing editorial staff;
Ensuring final draft is complete and no area is left empty;
Handling reader complaints and taking responsibility for resulting issues;

6. Years 2-3: Editorial Internship
I have been doing freelance journalism for the past 4 years. Because of this I have experience in writing for
various websites and publications. It is great that I have the experience, but we all know you have to start
from the bottom to get to the top. I feel that I would love to start with internship. Show the company that I
have great passion in my work and land permanent position with the company. Knowing that I am picking a
company that I deeply respect and want to write for. I want to grow with the company. Who knows…
within 5 years, I just might become the EiC of the magazine.

7. Years 3-5: The Next Step
I feel that from my previous experience of freelance writing, receiving my degree at Full Sail,
my internship, becoming a permanent employee of the company, and standing out to the
industry would keep me on the positive road to the next level on achieving my 5 year goal. My
game plan is to just keep take each goal at a time and know that there are ups and downs in
life. If I just stay positive and keep my eyes on the prize, I know that I will fulfill my dream as
being an Editor in Chief of a magazine.
8. I KNOW in 5 years I will reach my goal as
being the editor and chief of a
magazine such as Complex Magazine,
GQ, or Esquire. I would say that my
passion and determination has driven
me to obtain the position. I have done
so much in the past 10 years that
people only dream about. I feel if I
could accomplish the goals I have
already, then I know that this will be
another goal to knock off the
