1. Unit G321 – Foundation Portfolio in Media – Production Plan Template
Week beginning: Monday 10th October
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Date of
publication-
This is where I
will plan a target
for when I want
my magazine to
be released by.
Once this target
has been
established, I
must stick to it.
Management
schedule: I must
also plan which
days I am going
to spend creating
my magazine and
what I will do
each day.
Management
schedule: I will
continue to plan
my tasks for
creating my
magazine.
Editorial and
budgetary
decision: Here, I
will plan what sort
of content and
stories I will want
my magazine to
contain. I will also
consider the
budget and how
much money I am
willing to spend on
creating my
magazine.
Editorial and
budgetary
decision: I will
continue to plan
the content and
money that I will
use to help set up
my magazine. It is
important that I
get this right
because if I don’t, I
may accidently use
content which
people don’t find
very engaging.
Content
Acquisition: This
is extremely
important because
the type and
quality of content
that I decide to use,
will decide how
engaging my
magazine is to a
reader. It will help
me decide what
sort of content and
interviews to have,
by examining a
range of other
music magazines
Content
Acquisition: I will
continue to make
sure that the
quality and
quantity of my
content is
appropriate. It is
essential to choose
the right content to
make my magazine
more appealing to
readers and
customers.

2. Unit G321 – Foundation Portfolio in Media – Production Plan Template
Week beginning: Monday 23rd October
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Sub-editing: I
will pick through
my planned
content and
assigned
interviews with a
checklist. I will
examine other
magazines n=and
make a list of
things that I will
need to include in
my own
magazine. I will
then check
through my
planned content
and make sure I
have the content
that I need.
Sub-editing: I will
continue to check
through my
planned content. I
will have to do
extensive research
to ensure that my
statistics or facts
are not incorrect. I
need my content
to be reliable and
realistic for my
reader.
Page layout: I will
start to plan the
structure and
layout of my pages
by using
programmes such
as InDesign or
PageMaker to
make sure my
pages are designed
effectively, in a
style that potential
buyers will find
appealing and
aesthetically
pleasing. I will use
artistic styles and
logos and not use
too much text on
each page.
Proofreading:
This is where I will
print out the
completed plan of
my magazine and
pick through the
text on my
Contents page and
my Double Page
Spread to make
sure that there are
no mistakes. I will
annotate mistakes
in punctuation and
scribble out bits,
which I don’t think
are needed. I will
then make these
edits on a
computer.
Proofreading: I
will continue to
annotate my
mistakes and write
corrections on my
magazine. I will
pick through each
paragraph finely to
make sure that
there are no
mistakes in my
final copy of my
magazine.

Week beginning: 1st November
Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday
Email to
printer: After
this I will have to
make sure that I
send all the
information
about the specific
fonts and
pictures that I
was to be used in
my magazine.
The printers
must then print a
few copies and
then send these
to the publishers
for further tests.
If all is correct,
then they can be
sent off for
hundreds or
thousands of
copies to be
printed.
Distribution:
After my
magazines have
been printed, they
will all be
packaged carefully
and sent off to a
storage
warehouse. After
this, they will be
sent off to
different stores to
be sold to the
public.
Distribution: I
will continue to
send my
magazines off to
retailers, as it may
be a long process,
when I’m trying to
find retailers
willing to sell my
magazine/
Distribution
company: I will
have to make sure
that my
distribution
company is
effective to make
sure that my
magazine has the
best launch
possible. It will cost
several million
English sterling
every year to
distribute my
magazines to
stores. The more
magazines I
distribute, the
more sales I will
make.
Date of release
and frequency: I
will release my
magazine on
Friday 16th
December. I
believe that this
will be an effective
date because it will
therefore be on
release ion Friday
and be available
for sales over the
weekend.
However, if I was
to release it on a
week day, it may
have been taken
off the shelves and
replaced with new
magazines by the
time the weekend
comes.
