Here is a questionnaire that I have created to
research what my target audience wants. I
have asked some general questions such as
âhow old are you?â and âwhat is your genderâ to
help my find out what target market I am going
to aim my magazine at and also to know what
they would want from a magazine.

5. Audience profile
ï” Who is my target audience?
My target audience is going to be males in their first year of sixth form. They will be aged around 16-17.
they will be starting to develop what they want from sixth form and deciding whether they will be
attending university or what type of career they want to go into. When discussing with sixth formers I
found that males are more likely to buy magazines than females.
ï” What are their interests?
Their interests range from music to sport, TV and film. They are interested in sports, mainly football.
From my results, I have found that RnB is the most popular genre of music. As the audience are male, I
have wandered away from female related topics such as shopping and makeup.
ï” How often do they buy magazines?
Evidence from my results prove that my target audience buy magazines weekly-monthly. This shows that
the magazine needs to appeal to my target audience as they do not buy them often and therefore
showing that they only buy magazines that appeal to them.
ï” What socio-economic group are they in?
My target market would be in socio-economic group E as proof from my results show that the majority of
the sixth formers are unemployed and therefore would be likely to be at the lowest level of income. This
means that I can include articles such as how to produce the perfect cv and how to impress potential
employers.
ï” How else can I classify them?
Furthermore, my results show that the target audience like a lot of images in their magazines. In
addition, they are aspirers as they are easily influenced by: role models, celebrities and success stories.

10. Comparison of images
FinishedOriginal
I took the original picture with a canon camera and a white background. Then by
using Photoshop, I used the magic wand tool to highlight the model and delete the
background. This enabled me to choose and design the background that I wanted. I
also experimented with the contrast to make the image stand out from the lighter
background also because the original image was quite dull.
11. Evaluation- Photoshop skills
ï” I have cut out an image on Photoshop. This was to get rid of the background in the image. This was
successful as it improved the image.
ï” I changed the contrast of the image to improve it. The lighting on the image was dull so I added
contrast to make it more vibrant.
ï” I cropped the image to a new size. I did this to change the image to become a mid-shot image as
originally it was a long shot and therefore making it fit the criteria.
ï” In addition I have added text to the magazine cover. I did this to create the
masthead, straplines, puff and splash. This has added information to the magazine as the viewer
can read it and know what it is the magazine.
ï” I have added a shape to create the puff and straplines. I created a star shape to make it stand out
as the puff and also to make it look sticker-like. For the straplines I created two rectangle shapes to
make the text inside a big bolder.
ï” Furthermore, I moved layers around to see what I want the magazine cover to actually look like. I
changed the layers to see whether I wanted text to be above or below the image and to see where
things looked best.
ï” Finally, I have used many tools. For example, I used the clone stamp tool to minimise and remove
blemishes. This had a positive impact as I managed to do this which improved the look of the image.
ï” The things that I found challenging when using Photoshop were remembering which tools did what
and how to use them. This is because it was the first time using Photoshop and therefore was
difficult as I was learning new skills. An example of this is the clone stamp tool. I found this quite
challenging because the image had a low resolution which made it harder to find a similar tone in
the face to erase blemishes.
ï” My Photoshop skills have improved by learning which tool does what and how I can use them. One
mistake that I made was when the magic wand erased part of the collar, however I over come this
by using the history tool to restore the part of the collar.
13. Production schedule
ï” Week one â To start my project I need to know what type of people will be reading my magazine. I need to know their
age, hobbies and even what they will look like. My target audience are one of the most important features when making a magazine
because they are the people that are buying it. Therefore, I will create a questionnaire which I will hand out to only females of the
ages between 14 and 21. I realises that this is a big gap in terms of age but I would like to find out that if the magazine I am going
to make will appeal to a teenage audience or an audience in their twenties. The questionnaire will include questions not only to do
with what type of magazines do they read and how often they buy them but it will also ask a series of questions with options so I am
able to see how many answers are the same. I will then present my results in a pie chart so it is clear for me to read and understand
what my target audience want in a magazine.
ï” Week two â Once I have found out enough information about my target audience, I would also like to know about other music
magazine target audiences so I have a wider range of knowledge about readers who buy music magazines. I will look at different
magazines because that are well known music magazine with different types of audience in terms of age, gender and social class. I
will use the internet to find out this information and present my answers in tables with annotations so I learn more about the
people.
ï” Week three â For week three I will look at different types of music magazine covers. I think it is important to compare different
music magazine covers because it helps you understand the brand values, ideology and genre of the magazine. For example, Mojo
and Kerrang are completely two different magazines in terms of the cover. I would like to look at the features of different
magazines such as the image, strapline and masthead and compare the style of them. I think this will help me decide on some of
the features I am debating on because I will see and find out what style goes well with what genre. I will look at a range of
magazines: some which are similar to what I would like to do and some that are completely opposite. I will then start to plan my
front cover based on my ideas and research of front covers.
ï” Week four â After looking at magazine covers, I would then like to do the same with content pages. I will look at a wide range of
contents pages so I have as much knowledge about different contents pages as possible. I would like to find out the different types
of layouts such as where the feature list, image and other features are placed on the page. This will give me inspiration for my
contents page so I can start to plan mine.
ï” Week five â For week five I will look at a wide range of double page spreads to see how different types of magazines lay out there
main stories. I want to get a wider and better knowledge because I feel that the type of music genre the magazine is, effects the
layout of the double page spread. Therefore I will choose magazines that are very different in brand values and ideology. I will then
start to plan my double page spread and look at language that I am going to use to appeal to my target audience.
ï” Week six â For week six I will not only look at music magazine mastheads but I will also start to give my self options for my final
magazine. I will use completely different styles and colours which will give me the chance to see what type of masthead will work
best for my magazine. I will then decide on a masthead and explain why I thought it was the best fit. I will also look at how other
music magazines use straplines in terms of colour, font and where they are placed. I will decided what I would like to write in my
straplines and see if it will appeal to my target audience. I will then myself use different colours and font to see what works best
for the front cover.
ï” Week seven â Once I have decided on a masthead and straplines, I will start to take my images. In my opinion the main image is
the most important feature in the front cover, contents page and double page spread therefore I want to pay extra attention when
styling and taking photos of my model. Once I am happy with the photos I have taken I will choose the ones for the front
cover, contents page and double page spread. I will then use Photoshop to play around with the brightness and contrast which will
give me the chance to compare and see what type of effect works best for each page.
ï” Week eight â Finally for week eight I will make sure I am happy with the final project and see if the front cover, content page and
double page spread need any adjustments or changes. I will then briefly explain what I have done to create each page.

16. Questionnaire results analysis
ï” I have presented my questionnaire results in pie charts. The first
question I asked was to find out their age and to find out a specific age
gap for my audience. I handed out the questionnaires to random people
between the ages of 14-20. I handed out the questionnaires to both
males and females as I wasnât sure which I wanted to mostly lean
towards with my magazine.
ï” I then asked if they were employed to help me find out how much are
likely to be in the abc1 category. I also wanted more background
information about them so asked what they did in their free time. From
this I learn many enjoyed watching TV. I asked how often do they buy
magazines to see how often I would release my magazine. I also asked
how much they would be willing to spend on a magazine to find an
estimated price for mine. I then asked which music magazines do they
currently buy. The most popular ones are Q, Vibe, MTV and Smash hits.
Q and Vibe are similar to the magazine that want to produce. I asked if
they would be interested in music tutorials to see whether or not I will
include this in the magazine. I then asked which type of music tutorial
and the most popular were guitar and vocals. I next asked how
important was it to find out about new bands. However the popular
answer was 1 so that it not a vital thing to include in the magazine. I
also asked which were the most interesting features of a magazine and
this was the images. Finally I asked if they participated in competitions
however most people didnât and therefore I will not include this in my
magazine.
17. Audience profile
ï” My magazine will be aimed at a young affluent audience (16-24 year
olds). They will be mainly boys who are passionate about music they
would be mostly interested in pop and RnB. Their ABC1 percentage
would be roughly 70%.
ï” A magazine that I have analysed that would be most like mine is Q
magazine. My audience will be similar to theirs through the gender
and affluence.
ï” I would price my magazine at ÂŁ4.99. As my audience only buy
magazines monthly this is reasonably priced considering that it will be
a high quality magazine in a similar style to Q and Rolling Stone.
The interests of my audience is going out with friends and going to
music festivals and concerts. They often listen to music and always
have their headphones in.
ï” Also, my audience would be mostly aspirers and would be influenced
by the music artists.
ï” My questionnaire revealed the artists that they are mostly interested
in and also what features they like best in a magazine.
ï” My questionnaire was very useful for determining my target audience
as it gave me an insight to what their interests are and what they
do in their own time. This was useful because this helped me to come
up with my own plans for my magazine and what things I could include
in there.
18. Qâs Magazine audience
Qâs target audience is generally of the male gender. The age range is between
15-24 year olds. From this we can infer that the socio-
economic group may vary from lowest level of income as they are 15 and still in
school to high levels of income because the ABC1 profile is 70% showing the
audience is quite affluent and have high disposable income. Q sell around
377,000 copied of their magazine monthly and sell each for ÂŁ3.99.
Q's ideal reader would be:
Music lovers
In full-time employment
Has high disposable income
Is a social networker
An open-minded experience seeker
Goes to festivals annually
Hobbies include film, gaming, sport,
TV and comedy.
19. Vibeâs Magazine audience
Below is the link to Vibe's website:
http://www.vibelifestylenetwork.com/VLN-Media-Kit-2012.pdf
Vibeâs audience is 30 years olds however 82% of their readers are
21+ this shows that they aim their magazine at an older audience.
The socio economic audience spreads across several groups. They
aim to sell their magazine at aspiring middle class people but also
there are a percentage of urban working class. We can see this
through the fact that 65% of their audience is employed but 45%
never went to university. Furthermore 82% are at the average
working age which proves some are unemployed. In addition 75% of
Vibes audience are African American. They sell each magazine for
ÂŁ3 and sell around 300,000 copies monthly.
Vibes target audience would be:
- Urban music lovers
- Young
- Trendsetting
- Multicultural
20. Magazine cover convention
http://beharallpoppy000022405.files.wordpress.com/2013/10/q-media-pack.pdf
Here is an example of a Q magazine cover. I have researched this magazine cover as it relates to my own through the genre
and music artists. This is also used as it is a very successful magazine and I wanted to see what areas were successful on the
front cover to attract their target market. Q magazine have a very similar target audience to my own as they aim at a young
and affluent audience. This example would help my know what this target audience is aimed at and how they achieve this.
This could also give me a clearer understanding to how to reach my target audience.
On this magazine cover, they have had a close up of Jay-Z's face. They have used a close up to his face to get the reader to
look into his eyes to show seriousness. He is wearing a suit which connotes success and this gives the impression that he is
serious about his music and business. this is anchored through the text by his name in gold. This connotes success as gold is
an expensive thing. Also by describing him as 'greatest' it is a superlative showing he is the best and no one can be better.
The image of his face makes you look straight into his eyes. He seems very serious which gives the impression that he takes
his music seriously. The image is quite polysemic as he looks almost angry however the text changes this approach to make
him seem determined. Furthermore, his face is very still and is not animated and we can only see his face in the close up
suggests that he doesn't need anything else; he is instantly recognizable because he is 'the greatest rockstar'. This image is
quite a motivated image as the typical connotation of Jay-Z is success.
Masthead and straplines
The masthead is in bright red and is in the top left corner of the page. This is positioned here as we
tend to automatically look straight away when we see a page as this is how we read. The masthead
is very simplistic and this helps people recognize it even if a image is covering it. The straplines
reveals what is in the magazine and encourages the audience to read it as it is including things
such as 'LADY GAGA' in bright red font. This is a music artist that appeals to Q's target audience
and therefore is suitable for this magazine. Furthermore, the straplines are lined up down the light
side of the page and at the bottom. This is a effective place to put these as they are easy to see.
Colour
The main colours of the magazine are red, white and gold. Q have used these effectively when
designing the magazine as they are contrasting colours. The red is a bold colour and highlights the
most important parts of the magazine cover. The gold also stands out as it is a colour that it not
often used and is therefore quite abstract. The white brings both colours together. The background
is also white to make the magazine look professional and not too over the top using too many
colours.
22. Magazine cover plan-first idea
For the masthead I could have a small box in the top left hand corner-similar to Qâs masthead. I could include a banner at the
top the highlight something included inside the magazine without taking up too much of the page. I would have the date just
underneath the banner. I could also have the main image at the right hand side of the page to. This would be a good quality
image of the person included in the splash. I can put a circular puff underneath the masthead which wouldnât be too big in size
as I donât want it to take up too much room. In addition I would have the straplines on the left side in rows similar to Qâs
straplines. Also I would have the splash in the bottom left hand corner of the page with a quote. Finally I could include a small
barcode in the bottom corner of the page. I would have this quite small as it is not important and therefore it would not take up
too much room on the page.
23. Magazine cover plan-second idea
For my second plan I have layed out a different idea as to how I could have my front cover. I would put a banner at the top of
the page so it can let the reader know what else is in the magazine without taking up too much space and making the page
cramped. I can have the masthead in a rectangle shape at the top of the page underneath the banner. I could include
straplines at the right hand side of the page in rows. I would put these in a slightly coloured box so it stands out from the
background. I would put the main image in the centre-left of the page but in a big size to make it clear to the reader that this
is the main focus of the magazine. I would have the puff underneath the straplines and next to the main image. Also I would
include the splash underneath the main image and puff at the bottom of the page to make it stand out. Also I would include
the barcode and the date at the bottom of the page to stay out of the way as it is not an important part of the magazine. The
front cover plan that I prefer is the second one. I think that the layout is better and the positioning of the main image overlaps
the masthead which magazines such as Q do.

For my first plan, I could have the month at the top of the page. I can place the main
image at the top left hand corner of the page. This would be quite big to stand out
and show that this is the main feature of the magazine. I could put three smaller
supporting images underneath this and I would put the page numbers that they are
on next to each image. I would also have the features down the side of this page to
show which page contains what. Also I could have an editors box underneath
explain behind the scenes and what has happened that month. And finally I could
have a giveaway next to this to engage the reader.

Title
For my second plan, I have created a visual layout of how this could look like. The month
could be at the top left hand corner of the page. I could have the title âcontentsâ next to
this. I would have this too big as I wouldnât want it to take up a lot of room. I can put the
main image just underneath this to the left. Also I would have the two supporting images
next to this but slightly smaller so it is clear that this isnât the main focus. Just below this I
could have the editors box explaining what has happened behind the scenes within that
month. Next to this I could have a give away to engage the reader. At the bottom of the
page I could have the features showing the reader what is included on each page. The
plan that I prefer is the second. This is because it includes the title and also because it
looks less cluttered.
28. Qâs double page spread
Main image
The main image is on
the left page and runs all
the way from the edge to
the spine. This is a
medium close up of the
artist being interviewed.
The mode of address
suggests she is very
personal with the reader
and gives a intimate
shot. The fact that this is
the only image on the
page and there are no
supporting images
makes the reader drawn
to that one image.
Interview
The background is white with the letter âLâ in red. This doesnât clutter the background but also
doesnât make it boring. The text is in columns and they have used a dropped capital when starting a
new idea in the article to make it clear to the reader. They have a line to separate her name and the
article. Furthermore, at the top of the page they have written her last name in capital letters and her
first name in a smaller, more elegant font. This suggests that there is two sides to her.
29. Vibeâs double page spread
Quote
The quote is in a
pink font and stands
out from the rest of
the article.
Main image
The main image is a
medium close up
taking up the whole
of the page. She is
giving a direct mode
of address and this
could suggest that
she is a personal
artist and interacts
with her fans.
Interview
The interview is in
columns on a plain
white background.
Vibe has used a
white background
as a coloured one
would clutter the
page and make this
look
unprofessional.
Supporting image
The supporting image
breaks up the text so the
reader isnât put off as it
seems too much to read.
The double page spread that I prefer is Vibeâs
as there is a supporting image which breaks
up the text. However on Qâs it seems to have
a lot of writing which would put off some
readers. I would include a supporting image in
my double page spread.

For my double page spread first idea, I designed a visual layout to see how it would look. On
the first page I could have 3 supporting images at the top of the page. Underneath this I
could include the article in columns and on a white background like Q and vibeâs magazine
so it is easy for the reader to understand. On the second page I could include the main
image taking up the whole page. For this I would have a good quality image. Overlapping
this I would have a quote picked out from the article.

Name of artist
For my second double page spread plan I have decided to put the main image
on the first page. This image would take up the whole page and would be a
good quality image. On the second page I would have the name of the artist at
the top of the page in a bright colour to make their name stand out to the reader.
Below this I would have the article in columns on a white background so it is
clear and easy for the reader to understand. At the bottom of this I could have a
interesting quote picked out from the interview in a bright colour to stand out.
32. 5 mastheads
Qâs magazine masthead is very simplistic and recognisable. The font is very sophisticated
through the elegant flicks and the soft edges of the Q. The contrast of the colours helps
the letter to stand out and become more iconic.
Nmeâs masthead is similar to vibeâs through the bold capital letters. They have used
red and white to create a contrast which makes the masthead stand out. Also the
black around the outside helps to tie the letters together to create logo and not a
series of letters.
Vibeâs masthead has a very smooth and clear font however is still
represented as a statement through the bold capital letters. The colour is
plain black and this gives it a clean, modern look.
Kerrangâs masthead is easy to understand who they are aimed at. The capital
letter and the exclamation mark show that this magazine is based on loud rock
music. Also the rough edges and the effect of shattered glass through the black
lines running across the white text gives a kind of punk and rebellious
representation of the audience.
Rolling stoneâs masthead is portraying their magazine being aimed at an older
audience but also get across the heritage of the magazine. This is shown as
they have used a serif font and the flicks of the letters show the old fashioned
feel of the magazine.
33. Masthead plan names
ï” First idea: MOVEMENT
For my first masthead idea name I have chosen the word movement. I chose
this as I feel it relates to music and would be a good name for a magazine.
The word movement could relate to the movement of music and how it has
changed over time.
ï” Second idea: FREEDOM
For my second masthead idea name, I have chosen the word freedom. I also
feel that this is a good word to use as it relates to music and can be used for a
magazine masthead. When some people listen to music, they feel a sense of
freedom and they can escape reality and therefore I feel that this can be
appropriate.

and only slightly overlaps the
main image.
Main strapline
The main strapline is in a big
font and is placed at the bottom
centre of the page. This
strapline provides anchorage
for the image as it shows who
and what the main article is
about as well as the image
however gives a bit more
information of what the article is
based on. The word rocks is in
red, the same red as Qâs
masthead to keep the colour
scheme the same.
Strapline
This strapline draws the
attention of the reader as it has
âJohn Lennonâ in a big font and
therefore fans of his may be
interested to buy the
magazine. This strapline may
also be seen as a puff as it is
circled. This may also attract
the reader as it is separated
from the rest of the page.
Strapline
Down the left hand side of
the page Q has included
the names of big artists to
attract the reader and fans
of these artists and also
give more information
about what has been
included in the magazine.
36. Vibeâs magazine straplines
Main Strapline
The main strapline is
in the bottom left
corner in a big font.
This anchors the
image as it mentions
her name and tells the
reader what the main
article is about. Also
her name I in red the
same colour as the
masthead. This keeps
a specific colour
scheme to the
magazine font cover.
Strapline
Here the straplines
have been placed on
the left side of the
page next to the main
image so it doesnât
intervene with the
image. They have
used a bold font for
the name of the artist
to attract the reader.
37. Straplines plan
For this first strapline, I have created this by putting a red rectangle and typed
in white. I used capital letters to make this stand out to the audience and attract
their attention quickly. I am going to put this at the top of my page on the
magazine.
I am going to use this for
my puff. I have created 3
white circles and typed
â25 greatest festivalsâ in
bright red to attract the
audience. I am going to
place this slightly over the
image on my front cover.
38. Straplines plan
For this first strapline, I have included a music artist
that is very popular amongst my audience. I am
going to include this on my front cover as a strapline
to draw the readers attention and make them
interested into what is in the magazine.
For this second strapline, I have done a similar one
to my first strapline. I have put the artist name in
bright red at the top and put the smaller less
important part explaining what it is about in black.
This way the audience would be drawn to the name
of the artist straight away.
For the third strapline I have continued with the
same design throughout. This design I have made
up a band and put this in bright red as it links to my
red colour scheme of the magazine.
Finally this strapline I have kept the same idea. I
have used a popular band that link to my genre and
I have written âon their new albumâ to draw in the
reader as they are actually releasing a new album
soon. This therefore makes this relevant to my
magazine audience.
39. Images
Here are all the
images that I have
taken for my
magazine. I will
narrow them down so
that I can choose my
main images for my
front cover, contents
page and double page
spread. I will also
develop these
photographs in
Photoshop to improve
the quality. I chose my
model to suit the
audience of my
magazine. I then used
different props to
make it more realistic
and interesting. I then
used a white backdrop
and used lights to get
a better quality
photograph. Finally I
used a canon camera
to take the images.
40. Images
Here are some of the images I have taken for my magazine. I have narrowed these images from 57 to 9
to choose the best images that I can use. I will choose one for my front cover. I will choose this image to
suit the representation of the cover star that I want to portray. I will choose another image for my main
image on my contents page and I will choose an image for my double page spread. I am going to develop
all three of these images to improve the quality and also to remove the background.
41. Front cover image
This image has been
used for my front cover.
I have changed this
image through
Photoshop to improve it
a lot. I changed the
brightness and contrast
to make the skin tone
lighter and easier to
see the darker areas
and shadows. I have
also removed the
background and added
my own one to a light
grey to make it look
quite lifelike and suttle.

42. Contents page image
Here I have chosen this
image to be main image on
my contents page. I have
taken the original image
and altered it to improve it
using Photoshop. I have
deleted the background
using the magic tool. Also I
changed the brightness and
contrast to make the face
lighter and make it clearer
to see the shadows and
darker areas of the face. I
have also added in a
shadow to make the image
look realistic. Finally I
cropped the image to make
the image shorter so it fits
to the page better.

43. Contents page image
This image is going to be used for the supporting image of my contents
page. I havenât developed this image too much as I think that it was
already a good quality photograph. However I have slightly changed
the brightness and contrast of this image to show shadowed areas
better. I have also taken away the background for this photograph
using the magic wand tool on Photoshop.

44. Double page spread image
This image I have
chosen is going to be
used for the double
page spread. I have
edited this using
Photoshop to make it
a better quality image.
First of all I changed
the brightness and
contrast to make the
lighter areas stand out
better. This helps you
to see the shadowed
areas within the
image. Also I changed
took away the
background using the
magic wand tool. This
has improved the
image a lot.

45. Magazine front cover
This is my first finished
magazine cover. I have kept to
my plan and included a
banner, added the masthead at
the top of the page, used the
planned straplines and included
a puff, splash, quote and
barcode. The image I have
included has been improved a lot
using Photoshop. I have placed
this in the centre of the page and
made it to take up the whole
page. I have stuck to the colour
scheme of red and white as I
donât want my page to become
too overcrowded as this is likely
to put off the audience from
buying the magazine.
46. Finished magazine cover
I have added to the original finished
front cover page to include more vital
things and to improve the whole page.
From the first one I have added a
month underneath the masthead so
the audience know what edition it is. I
have also added another strapline to
fill the empty space above his
shoulder. I have also made these
straplines smaller so they donât take
up too much of his shoulder. In
addition to this, I have changed the
words âon the apocalypseâ to capital
letters just like the other straplines.
Overall, I believe that by going over it
has improved the page a lot and made
it look sophisticated and more like a
professional magazine.
47. Finished contents page
Here is my finished magazine contents
page. For this I have designed it based on
Q magazine. I have included a title at
the top of the page and put the month
âJanuaryâ at the far end. Down the left
hand side I have included features and
included some of the straplines from my
front cover and also I have research
different articles in magazines to add
into my features. Underneath this I have
included âtop chartsâ. I have written this
in white on a bright red background to
attract the audience. Next to this I have
included a subscribe and put an image of
the front cover at the side. Finally I have
included two images on the page. The
first image is the main image which
reveals to the audience what the main
feature of the magazine is about. The
other image is to show the audience
what else is included in the magazine.
48. Finished double page spread
Here is my finished double page spread. I have also based this similar to Q magazine. I find this design very sophisticated and professional and
therefore I decided to use it. To create my double page spread I used in design. First of all I chose the image that I wanted to use for this page. I
developed this in Photoshop using the brightness and contrast tool to show the lighter and darker areas. Next I split the page in half and put the image
on one side of the page. I have placed the text of the interview on the page next to this and changed this into columns to make it look like an article.
I put his name at the top of the page in bright red to make his name stand out and I put red lines next to this. I then picked out an important quote
from the article and put this in bright red and placed this overlapping the image. The bright red makes this stand out more so it isnât faded into the
image and you can see it straight away.
49. Evaluation
I have created my evaluation on Prezi. Here is
