The first step of producing a magazine is to establish the final date of publication. This is the date of which all tasks associated with the
production of the magazine need to be completed by, to ensure distribution on that day. From this date you are able to create a schedule for
the production team to follow, to allow enough time for each task to be completed. You must also allow time for any mistakes made when
producing the magazine to ensure release on the date of publication. The next stage of magazine production is to decide on the content that is
going to be covered in the next issue of the magazine, so the editors can decide which photos and styles will be appropriate for the magazine.
From this the editorial team can look at the magazines budget and decide how it will be spent towards producing the magazine, while also
arranging dates with featured artists or journalist, to retrieve content for the magazine. To make sure the content is suitable for the target

accurate. Once the content for the magazine has been verified, the content can be laid out following the conventions of the genre’s magazine
by the layout team, who use very powerful desktop publishing software to produce it. From here, a physical hardcopy of the magazine will be
printed out to be proof read by the editorial team to confirm that it is ready for printing. The magazine is then sent to the printing press with
all fonts attached, to ensure the copy is printed correctly. A first draft hardcopy is sent back to the magazine production company to confirm
that the magazine is to their standards, if so the printing press will continue to print copies ready for distribution. The printing company will
then package the magazines accordingly and send them to the warehouse who distributes the magazines to the public.
