Language: The language on this cover 
appeals to the target audience as it uses 
‘slang’ such as “fitties” which young teenage 
girls generally use in their dialect. Other 
examples of this slang are “crimbo”, and 
“cringe”. 
Colour: The use of colour on this cover 
appeals to the target audience as they are 
very feminine colours such as pink and light 
blue. This is appealing as they are very bright 
colours so make the cover exciting which is 
something that young teenage girls would like 
to read. 
Images: The use of images on this cover 
appeals to the target audience as they are 
close ups of famous celebrities within the 
music industry. This is appealing due to the 
fact that this is a music magazine so the 
readers will know who they are. Also, the 
celebrities featured are ‘heart-throbs’ and are 
who the young people have posters of on their wall as they are good-looking. 
Content: The content of this cover appeals to the target audience as there are posters of 
‘good-looking’ celebrities who have a fan base of young, teenage girls. Also, there are 
interviews with male celebrities talking about 
girls, relationships and other gossip. This is 
what girls like to read so they are more likely 
to want to buy the magazine. 
Language: The language on this contents 
page appeals to the target audience as 
similar to the front cover, slang is used. 
Examples of this is “mag” and “celebs”. Like 
before, this is appealing because it’s the 
same dialect as young teenage girls. 
Colour: The use of colour on this contents 
page appeals to the target audience as they 
are bright, feminine and in a way, young 
colours. Pink and yellow are associated as 
female colours and are exciting which 
makes it appealing for the young teenage 
girls to read. 
Images: The use of images on this contents 
page appeals to the target audience as they 
are close ups of famous celebrities within
the music industry. As stated above, teenage girls like these celebrities. Also, images of 
fashion are included, this inspires a sense of fashion which is appealing to girls, especially 
teenagers. 
Content: The content of this contents page appeals to the target audience as it includes 
sections such as “we love shopping” and “we love boys”. This is appealing to young, 
teenage girls as they are stereotypically ‘topics’/’interests’ of teenage girls. 
Language: The language used on

appealing to the target audience 
because it’s very positive with 
phrases such as “woohoo”. This is 
appealing because young, 
teenage girls don’t want to read 
something that’ll make then sad 
and upset. 
Colour: The use of colour on this 
double page spread is appealing 
to the target audience because 
the main featured colours are 
pink, purple and white which are 
very feminine colours so will look attractive to the young girls. Also, as the celebrity featured 
is also female, the colours match her persona. 
Images: The use of images on this double page spread as they are relevant to the interview 
so the young, teenage girls can relate to her. Also some of the images are of Taylor Swift’s 
daily life so her fans can get an insight into it. Her fan base if the same as the target 
audience which is why it is appealing. 
Content: The content of this double page spread is an interview which gives information 
about the featured celebrity who in this case is Taylor Swift. This is appealing to the target 
audience because her fans have the same audience meaning they will enjoy reading about 
her.

Lucy Allbut Target Audience Appeal Language: The language on this cover appeals to the target audience as it uses ‘slang’ such as “fitties” which young teenage girls generally use in their dialect. Other examples of this slang are “crimbo”, and “cringe”. Colour: The use of colour on this cover appeals to the target audience as they are very feminine colours such as pink and light blue. This is appealing as they are very bright colours so make the cover exciting which is something that young teenage girls would like to read. Images: The use of images on this cover appeals to the target audience as they are close ups of famous celebrities within the music industry. This is appealing due to the fact that this is a music magazine so the readers will know who they are. Also, the celebrities featured are ‘heart-throbs’ and are who the young people have posters of on their wall as they are good-looking. Content: The content of this cover appeals to the target audience as there are posters of ‘good-looking’ celebrities who have a fan base of young, teenage girls. Also, there are interviews with male celebrities talking about girls, relationships and other gossip. This is what girls like to read so they are more likely to want to buy the magazine. Language: The language on this contents page appeals to the target audience as similar to the front cover, slang is used. Examples of this is “mag” and “celebs”. Like before, this is appealing because it’s the same dialect as young teenage girls. Colour: The use of colour on this contents page appeals to the target audience as they are bright, feminine and in a way, young colours. Pink and yellow are associated as female colours and are exciting which makes it appealing for the young teenage girls to read. Images: The use of images on this contents page appeals to the target audience as they are close ups of famous celebrities within

Also, images of fashion are included, this inspires a sense of fashion which is appealing to girls, especially teenagers. Content: The content of this contents page appeals to the target audience as it includes sections such as “we love shopping” and “we love boys”. This is appealing to young, teenage girls as they are stereotypically ‘topics’/’interests’ of teenage girls. Language: The language used on this double page spread is appealing to the target audience because it’s very positive with phrases such as “woohoo”. This is appealing because young, teenage girls don’t want to read something that’ll make then sad and upset. Colour: The use of colour on this double page spread is appealing to the target audience because the main featured colours are pink, purple and white which are very feminine colours so will look attractive to the young girls. Also, as the celebrity featured is also female, the colours match her persona. Images: The use of images on this double page spread as they are relevant to the interview so the young, teenage girls can relate to her. Also some of the images are of Taylor Swift’s daily life so her fans can get an insight into it. Her fan base if the same as the target audience which is why it is appealing. Content: The content of this double page spread is an interview which gives information about the featured celebrity who in this case is Taylor Swift. This is appealing to the target audience because her fans have the same audience meaning they will enjoy reading about her.
