How did you
attract/address your
audience?
+

Colours and fonts

I have used bright, bold primary colours throughout my media
product. I have done this in order to attract my target audience of
teenagers. I’ve used a wide colour scheme to appeal to both sexes
rather than using pinks and purples or blues and greens which will
appeal to either or.
My target audience is mainly female but I
feel some males will read my magazine so I
do not want to exclude them just incase.
I’ve used a wide range of fonts. I’ve mainly
used a mix of serif and san-serif fonts to mix
my magazine up and appeal to everyone.
I’ve used very fun and round fonts as my
magazine is a pop magazine. I’ve used round
fonts and more formal fonts to appeal to
lots of age groups!

Features
My features attract my target audience as they’re popular
and modern bands and artists. I have featured One
Direction to appeal to younger, female readers, I have
featured Adele to attract older readers of both genders and
finally I have featured Miley Cyrus as there’s a lot of
controversy in the media about her at the moment and is a
popular subject so I feel this will appeal to both genders of
a wide age range.
I have featured a Catching Fire review as it’s a very, very
popular sequel to The Hunger Games, it appeals to all
ages and both genders so I think it will attract lots of
types of people to read my magazine, even those who
aren’t into pop but like the movie.
+

Language
I used informal language to address my
audience as it is the best way to grab their
attention. If I talk in a chatty language my
readers will feel invited, not intimidated
and will be able to relate to the magazine
easier than if it was more formal. It makes
the text more interesting and less boring.
I’ve used humous, in doing this my
audience will think my magazine is
modern and up to date. I used
exclamation marks excessively to grab my
readers attention and give a more
enthusiastic feel.
+

Layout


My layout is childish yet chic. It’s modern yet retro. I feel like
this juxtaposing technique attracts my audience very well. My
article looks very modern and adult where as my cover looks
more child like and
colourful.
+

Images
I’ve used a male figure/model in my media product to appeal to
both females and males. Females will be attracted to him where
as the males will aspire to be like him so want to read more.
