Apart from the acute injuries discussed, they also suffer harm exposed on their hands. From a recent study carried out in the University of Manchester, the health workers that follow protocols are 4.5 times exposed to skin damage risks. The report also reported up to 25 percent of cases of irritant contact dermatitis.
These individuals also get exposed to infectious diseases in their areas of practice. One of the most commonly contacted infection is Hepatitis B (HBV). This is infection can be contacted via blood contact, feces, saliva, and semen. This instrument of spreading the infection is in contact with the patient and also the needles (Gooch, 2015). Nursing practitioners also risk exposure to toxic substances in the clinical environment. Radiation is another risk that comes majorly from the ionizing radiation. The tittle of the study is “Sleep, Memory, and Aging: The Link between Slow-Wave Sleep and Episodic Memory Changes from Younger to Older Adults” written by Michael K. Scullin. It aims to uncover the relationship between slow wave sleep and the ability of humans to retain memory. Slow wave sleep is the deep sleep that occurs during non-rapid eye movement. It is called slow wave sleep because at this stage of slumber, the brain electrical activity is synchronized with slow waves of low frequency. Previous research has proven that slow wave sleep is crucial to the retaining of memory but until now, the dynamics of this relationship was not clear(Scullin, 2013).
In conducting the research, the researcher is trying to determine the correlation between slow wave sleep, memory retention, and aging. The author of the research aims to link together these three seemingly distinct variables and create a conceptual theory that explains how aging memory and deep sleep are related. The researcher asks a series of questions that help to guide the research process. These questions are, is there a correlation between short weave sleep in humans and memory consolidation? If so how significant is this relationship, is short wave sleep crucial to the memory consolidation process? The researchers then measure the amount of short wave sleep that young and old adults get. Abstract
Aim. To report an analysis of the concept of mindfulness.
Background. Mindfulness is an emerging concept in health care that has
significant implications for a variety of clinical populations. Nursing uses this
concept in limited ways, and subsequently requires conceptual clarity to further
identify its significance, use and applications in nursing.
Design. Mindfulness was explored using Rodgers evolutionary method of concept
analysis.
Data Sources. For this analysis, a sample of 59 English theoretical and research-
based articles from the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature
database were obtained. The search was conducted between all-inclusive years of
the database, 1981–2012.
Review Methods. Data were analysed with particular focus on the attributes,
antecedents, consequences, references and related terms that arose in relation to
mindfulness in the nursing literature.
Results. The analysis found five intricately connected attributes: mindfulness is a
transformative process where one develops an increasing ability to ‘experience
being present’, with ‘acceptance’, ‘attention’ and ‘awareness’. Antecedents,
attributes and consequences appeared to inform and strengthen one another over
time. Mindfulness is a significant concept for the discipline of nursing with
practical applications for nurse well-being, the development and sustainability of
therapeutic nursing qualities and holistic health promotion.
Conclusion. It is imperative that nurse well-being and self-care become a more
prominent focus in nursing research and education. Further development of the
concept of mindfulness could support this focus, particularly through rigorous
qualitative methodologies.

How special are the specialties? Although clinical and counseling psychol-
ogy each have distinctive origins, past research suggests their potential
convergence across time. In a survey of 5666 clinical and counseling
psychologists, the similarities and differences between their workplace
settings were examined during early-, mid-, and late-career phases to
explore the distinctiveness of the two specialties. Overall, clinical and
counseling psychologists reported markedly similar workplace settings.
However, some significant differences remained; a greater proportion of
counseling psychologists reported working in counseling centers, while a
greater proportion of clinical psychologists reported working in medical
settings. In addition, during late-career, substantially more counseling and
clinical psychologists worked in independent practice contexts than in
community mental health centers, medical settings, academia, or university
counseling centers. Findings are discussed in relation to the ongoing
distinctiveness of the two specialties and the implications of this for training
and service in the field of professional psychology.

Introduction
Recognized as distinct specialties by the American Psychological Association,
clinical and counseling psychology each have distinct histories, intersecting appli-
cations, and longstanding concerns regarding their continuing, or diminishing,
differences. This article explores these issues and examines the contemporary
similarities and differences between these two specialties as reflected in their
workplace settings. Workplace settings are examined at early, mid, and late career
in order to determine whether differences vary by cohort in a way that might reflect
either on their enduring or diminishing differences over time.

Historically, the specialties of clinical and counseling psychology have developed
from different origins and formed distinctly different trajectories as a result

cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
