Arguement Essays
Writing an essay on argumentative topics can be a challenging task that requires a combination
of critical thinking, research skills, and effective communication. Crafting a compelling argument
essay involves not only presenting your own perspective but also addressing opposing views and
providing well-reasoned evidence to support your claims. This complexity arises from the need
to strike a balance between persuasion and objectivity, as a successful argument essay should not
only convince the reader but also acknowledge and counter potential counterarguments.
One of the difficulties lies in conducting thorough research to gather relevant information and
evidence to support your stance. This process requires sifting through various sources, evaluating
their credibility, and selecting the most compelling data to strengthen your argument.
Additionally, organizing these findings in a coherent and logical manner poses another
challenge. Ensuring a smooth flow of ideas and maintaining the reader's engagement demands
careful structuring of the essay.
Moreover, articulating your thoughts effectively is crucial in argumentative essays. The ability to
express ideas clearly and persuasively is essential for conveying the strength of your argument.
Striking the right balance between formal and engaging language, as well as adapting your tone
to the audience, adds to the complexity.
Furthermore, anticipating and addressing potential counterarguments is an intricate aspect of
argumentative writing. Acknowledging opposing views while articulating why your stance is
more valid requires a nuanced approach. This demands a deep understanding of the subject
matter and the ability to foresee potential objections.
In conclusion, writing an argument essay is a challenging process that demands critical thinking,
research, effective communication, and the ability to navigate opposing viewpoints. Despite its
difficulty, mastering this skill can be immensely rewarding, as it hones one's ability to think
critically and express ideas persuasively.

Transactional Leadership In Health Care
In a health care setting, the transactional leadership commonly used to continue a
pleasant relationship among the managers and the subordinates while keeping
promises of rewards for performance. The expectations of performance and the
resulting rewards remain clearly identified and delivered upon completion of the
agreement. The employees are rewarded with values according to the
accomplishment of the performance of the employee to the mission and objectives of
the program. The effectiveness of the transactional allows the managers to facilitate
employee performance, helping the employees plan and coordinate the assigned task
and learn new skills.
The transformational leadership is motivated to the organizational changes,

A Brief Note On The Upper Wabash River
The Upper Wabash River faces a vast majority of issues that affect the quality of the
watershed. The watershed has long been used for agricultural purposes that cause
stress on the watershed. Through various point source and non point source pollution
various water systems have been affected with some being even impaired.
3.1 Nutrients
One of the major stresses within the Upper Wabash River is nutrients. The state of
Indiana has a target of 10 mg/L of nitrate levels. During an water quality study there
were 178 nitrate samples collected with 109 of the samples exceeding the target.
Nitrate concentrations ranged from 9.34 mg/L to 34.48 mg/L with the highest
coming from the Moser Lake and Eight Mile Creek. The total nitrogen levels of ...

total phosphorous load is 2,266,189, and the total E. coli load is 12,700,396 billion
of organisms annually. The nitrate load is above the target load (51,380,095
pounds) of the area, along with total phosphorus (1,541,400 pounds), and E. coli
(5,479,370 billion of organisms). Every subwatershed within the Upper Wabash
River Watershed is over the target load for E. coli and every subwatershed but one is
over the nitrate target load. (Upper Wabash River Watershed Management Plan ~

3.2 Agricultural Run off To enhance crop production in the area farmers apply
commercial fertilizers, legumes, crop residue, manure, and land applied sludge to
their crops. While these products help with crop production they contain high
nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. Excess nutrients are a major cause to
impaired biotic communities and algae blooms. When algae blooms occur the
dissolved oxygen content within the water decreases. (Upper Wabash River

and sedimentation within the Upper Wabash River Watershed. When erosion occurs
sediment is carried into the water causing sedimentation. The water becomes cloudy
due to sedimentation when the soil particles suspend within the water column. The

Pirates Of The Caribbean At World s End Analysis
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End Evaluation Swashbuckling action and
fierce battle scenes are abundant in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Pirates
of the Caribbean: At World s End is an action adventure film that follows the story of
Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and Elizabeth in their adventures on the
Caribbean Sea. It is the third film in the series and concludes the Davy Jonesand East
India Trading Company story arc. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is the
best movie in the franchise because it fleshes out existing characters while staying
true to their original characterization, has an interesting and cohesive narrative, and
makes excellent use of special effects. The film believably adds to the motivations
and actions of the characters. For instance, in the first two films Captain Jack
Sparrow struggles with whether to do what is right or to do what he wants. In the
first movie, he saves Elizabeth from drowning, but then threatens her in an escape
attempt. In the second film, he is willing to send one hundred people to Davy
Jones to save himself from having to serve aboard Jones ship. In this film, he has
the opportunity to become the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. Jack
Sparrow loves the sea and the freedom it gives him, but he gives up this chance to
allow Will Turner to live. He chooses to do the right thing at the end of this film,
showing that he is deep down a good man, albeit with many vices. Elizabeth also

IAS 18 Revenue Recognition
Introduction
This assignment features the recognition and measurement of revenue depending on
the source of revenue in accordance with the provisions of International Accounting
Standards (IAS) 18 Revenue.
I researched the topic and defined the special purposes of the assignment: first of all,
it is important to know the main concepts of IAS 18, also to learn the rules by using
this particular regulatory framework, and to get knowledge about writing the report

Rendering of services
When the outcome of a transaction involving the rendering of services can be
reliably estimated, revenue from the sale of services is based on the level of
completion of the transaction at the balance sheet date. The outcome of a transaction
can be measured reliably when: * The amount of the transaction can be reliably
assessed; * There will be probability to get economic benefits for the enterprise as a
result of this operation; * Level of completion of the transaction at the balance sheet
date can be assessed; * Costs that should be suffered relating to a transaction can be
measured reliably.
Revenue from the provision of goods and all services is only recognized when the
amounts to be recognized are fixed or determinable, and collectability is reasonably
assured (Elliot B., Elliot J., 2007)
Interest, royalties and dividends
IAS 18 considers the accounting procedure of potential components of revenue
organization primarily from transactions involving the sale of goods, rendering of
services, as well as through other organizations or individuals property of the
reporting organization, giving interest, dividends or royalties. If the probability of the

Shifting
Introduction
Automobile industry has been rapidly shifting from the traditional gas powered
vehicles to other economic and environmentally friendly alternatives such as electric
and plug in hybrid cars. Nighthawk Motors is a fast growing car maker company
that is looking to become the number one car selling company in the world. Its latest
plug in hybrid car, the Ecostar, is equipped with latest electric fuel engine and long
lasting battery life. Although it is new to the market, the Ecostar has comparable
quality and specifications to its competitors. Table 1 illustrates a side by side

Additionally, the company has to create marketing and branding strategy of the
Ecostar that resonates with the Millennials lifestyles, attitudes, and buying behaviors.
There are many ways to segment and classify the automobile consumers. Typically,
demographic, psychographic, geographic, and behavioral environments are
considered when evaluating the target market segmentation ( Principles of Marketing
v. 2.0 , 2012). According BCG Analysis (2012), there are six distinct segments of the
Millennials. Table 2 describes the six segments of the Millennials in the U.S. (Barton,

Equality in the Media Sector
Gender There cannot be any type of gender discrimination, of either sexes.
everyone must be given an equal opportunity, this also goes towards race and
religion. Sexual orientations may be explored, as it has a place in the modern
world and need to be represented, especially towards the youth generation. As with
race, any producers or designers should try and avoid stereotypical roles that may
offend some viewers, such as a stereotypical housewife unless this is necessary for
a production, image within a website, ETC. Any legal restrictions that are not
followed in the workplace, such as inappropriateness between colleagues, should be
dealt with firmly, to avoid further complications such as resignations from a job or
an important role. An example of this could be a colleague who is unethically
/illegally harassing another colleague, without their consent, and this may make the
other colleague feel uncomfortable. This may make the college feel that he/she
does not want to pursue the job any longer. This creates further complications, such
as more time spending looking for someone to replace that role. Religion People
have different beliefs and views, so respecting them is very important. Most models
/actors/accesses/designers will try to be open minded whilst being interviewed for a
role, but many religious restrictions may be unavoidable, E.G. a Muslim actress may
have very strong beliefs about revealing herself too much in front of men. Producers

Comparison Of Eros, Philia, And Agape
Eros, Philia, and Agape all have very rich backgrounds in our history. Eros being the
Greek God of love, focused on pleasure and desire. Gives us a basis to examine how
indulging in pleasure is a form of self gratification, allowing the lover to experience
love in its most shallow form. Eros lacks morality because its selfish, exclusive, and
requires little to no self love. Erosis particular on which person receives this love, it
denies the beloved any true form of compassion, and there is little to no self love
involved because it is the beloved that is giving to the lover, there is no need for
deep thought about what they could give back to the beloved. Philia is the deeper
form of love that requires both parties to be self aware of their

Lancer gallery is a reputed firm for the artifacts from South American, African,
Southwestern Indian, Pre Columbian. In 2001 it even expanded to sell replicas,
which could be differentiated only by a true collector. However the replicas were
only a small part of their total sales. Lancer gallery has long contracts with craft
persons. Over the decade the company has grown a business of 35 Million dollars
with 20% growth rate per annum. The company distributes its products through
reputed dealers, department stores and the firm sponsored shows. The company s
loyal customers are the artifacts collectors. The company is facing some issues with
respect to the market sales currently. As said by Myron Rangard, National Sales
manager, retail level competition increased, authentic and high quality products are
available in the market . It s difficult to find the products in South America and the
political situation in Africa is causing the problem. The company has to contend with
the government as it not allowing exportation due to national significance . The
competitors count has increased to 11 since the past few years. The procurement

Unprotected In The United States
Have you ever thought of something a different way because of their actions? An
example of this is terrorism. People are feared by terrorist by all their attacks in the
U.S and in other places in the world. Because of these attacks and these actions,
people think that the U.S is weak, feel unprotected, and feel not safe in their
environment.
First, it makes people think that the U.S is weak. When their is attacks in other parts
in the world, they never show the U.S helping the other states that are in distress.
The U.S doesn t have very good protection either. Especially on the border, there is a
lot of people who are terrorist that are sneaking into our states without being noticed.

9/11 was a tragic event that is now a part of history. It was named the worst terrorist
attack in the U.S. Many people think that this could ve been prevented, but this
makes people feel unprotected a lot. Another one is the Boston Marathon, which is
also forever remembered. Many people have died due to these terrorist attacks, and
are left feeling unprotected because of these terrible things, hopefully the U.S can
find a solution to this and can stop these terrible attacks
And last, it makes people have a bad mood. With all the bad things happening and
all the tragedies, it leaves people in awe and sorrowness. Many people lost their
family members due to these attacks. It leaves a permanent mark if you lose a
loved one. The groups of terrorist need to stop these things because they are
affecting lives of people who didn t do anything to them. One important one of this
is the assassination of John F Kennedy, This left people of the U.S and his family
depressed for days.
In conclusion, terrorism affects a lot of people s lives. The effects I stated are people
think the U.S is weak, makes people feel unprotected, and leaves people in a bad
mood. Hopefully, we can find a way to prevent these attacks and live a more happier
Phoenician Trade Routes
After reading and learning about the Phoenician people I was amazed. The
Phoenician people are the ones that started a foundation for 21 century that are a
part of. It is outstanding to find out that these are people that started something
every single person in the world knows and uses. They started the alphabet which
was based on what sound they make. The alphabet that we use today is based on
what they started, and without it I don t know where we would be. Another great
thing that these people did was build trade routes. Trade routes are very
resourceful; they make business easier and provide a wide range of area for
business to be done. We still use trade routes for business now a day. While the
Phoenician people did many trades
Bar Magnets Essay
1.Bar magnet is the simplest form to explain magnetism. Bar magnets are permanent
magnets and this means that they have magnetism all the time, it can t be turned on
and it can t be switched off. They have two poles that include: north seeking pole
(N) and south seeking pole (S). These poles appear to occur in equal and opposite
pair. Magnetic meridian is the vertical plane in which the magnetlies. Magnets are
made of materials that can be magnetized, which are also the ones that can be
attracted to magnet, which are called ferromagnetic materials. These include: iron,
steel, nickel, cobalt, some alloys of rare earth metals and some naturally occurring
minerals such as lodestone. Mu metal is a nickel based soft magnetic alloy,... Show

Small bar magnets that are responsible for a magnetic behaviour are actually groups
of atoms. Electron particles show magnetic behaviour of their motion each electron
has a magnetic moment. Groups of these atoms form small domains, in which the
magnetic moments of the electrons are aligned with each other. When material is non
magnetised the domains are aligned in random way so their magnetic field cancels
each other out.
Properties of a simple bar magnet:
1.Unlike poles of magnet attract each other
2.Like poles of magnet repel each other
3.The force of the attraction of a magnet is greater at its poles than in the middle.
4.If a bar magnet is suspended by a thread and if it is free to rotate, its south pole will
move towards the north pole of the earth and vice versa.
A magnetic field is the magnetic effect of electric currents and magnetic materials.
The magnetic field at any given point is specified by both a direction and a
magnitude (or strength); as such it is a vector field. A magnetic field may be plotted
by using a plotting compass to define the lines of force.
Bar magnet is placed on a sheet of white paper. Starting near one end of the magnet,
the positions of the ends of the compass needle are marked by pencil dots. The
compass is then moved until the near end of the needle is exactly over the dot
furthest from the magnet and a
How The Culture Has Five Essential Characteristics
Culture has five essential characteristics: It is learned, shared, based on symbols, it is
interconnected, and dynamic, meaning it interacts with other cultures and is
changeable. In all parts of the world, most people do not understand the culture from
their local town, much less so the culture in a country on the other side of the world.
All cultures share prominent features that set them apart from the rest of the world.

Turkey is one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in Eastern Europe, the
Middle East, and North Africa. In a 2010 estimate, the nation s farming area
employs 30% of the labor force and accounts for 9.6% of Gross Domestic Product
(Oguz, 2012). The principal commercial crops are cotton and tobacco. The
principal exports include dried apricots, hazelnuts, sultanas, and dried figs. Turkey
is leading one of the fastest growing steel and iron businesses in the world. The
fishing industry is meek, even with Turkey s full exposure to the seas.
Notwithstanding, a lot of fishing takes place in the Bosporus Strait. There is oil in
the Sea of Marmara, however, Turkey continues to import most of its gas and oil,
which brought them into the situation of being called a supporter of the terrorist
organization known as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) by

though there are tensions between ISIS and the rest of the world, Turkey is still
benefiting financially from ISIS by purchasing oil. Major Cities like Istanbul, the
capital that governs Turkey, remains the country s
The Missing White Woman Syndrome Summary
The videos assigned for this week were not only interesting but also intense, definitely
full of vital information. I found the Missing White Woman Syndrome video very
interesting, for it brought up a really important point, that being *fear of
victimization. In fact, is has been proven that even though crimein the U.S. has
declined, fear of crime is still a huge issue. However, I do believe that it is mostly
because of the extensive coverage crimes get nowadays, mass mediahas influenced
the way we consume news and their power has increased significantly. Moreover, as
mentioned in The Hidden Meanings in Kids Movies, media can really shape the way
our perspectives are formed and this is more significant since the new generation

the year, but when school was over I returned to Wisconsin and we lost touch. Then
in the fall of 2003, as a way to get the ball rolling on our final paper for English 191,

Through the Central and southern parts of the country runs the Niger River and is

Unlike today, The Mali region was once thriving with huge empires encompassing
most of West Africa, such as Ghana, Mail and Gao. While running major trade
routes through the Sahara Desert they were able to obtain great power and wealth.
In the 15th century the Malian empire was overthrown by the Songhai who held
power for a century. The Songhai period was the last time the region thrived as a
center of trade. The Europeans had taken to the sea and no longer had to use the
routes through the desert to transport goods for trade. After the Songhai Empire
fell, the French colonized the area and Mali was known as the French Sudan. On
September 22, 1960 The Republic of Mali gained it s independence from France. In
the book Socialism and Nation Building in Africa I found that after Mali split ties
with France they were trying having trouble finding what would work better,
socialism or capitalism. Since social and material elements were lacking for a future
of capitalism, Socialism was chosen as the only means of achieving economical
development, raising the standard of living and increasing the material wealth
(Megahed 6). Since their independence Mali has had it hard. They have been hit with

Compare And Contrast Qin Dynasty And Qing Dynasty
In the Dynastic cycle, the Qin and Qing Dynasties of ancient China showed similar
periods of decline. Both of these dynasties have similarities and differences when the
dynasties were aloud.
To begin with, the Qin and the Qing dynasties had some similarities. First, both
dynasties rebelled. To explain, both dynasties had a great start when the dynasty
was first created. Then, things got a little rough. The people were tired of having
bad leaders at the end so they rebelled. Both dynasties rebelled mostly because of
bad leadership which they got from the leaders of the dynasties. Second, they also
had an impressive and strong army. For example, both dynasties both used their
money wisely. That money also went to the army. By spending money on the army,
they had a strong and impressive army to protect and serve China. Lastly, they ...

They used their money wisely at the beginning of the dynasty, but then they started
using it for bribing because the leader wouldn t treat the people well enough for
them not to bribe each other. Also, the roads, crops, and canals were destroyed.
Since the leader didn t take care of these things and would not pay for repairs, it
started to collapse. The people had to crops to eat, couldn t control flooding, and had
no good transportation for trading purposes. Another example is they started having
fewer items to trade. Since there was such poor treating to the roads and canals, there
wasn t much transportation routes for people to trade. Without trading items, people
couldn t get the items they need to survive. Also, their military started to weaken.
The ruler of this dynasty, as you can see, didn t use his money wisely. Since he didn t
use his money wisely, the military also weakened. So, they had weak protection and
weak fighting against other regions. Lastly, the government started to corrupt. Again,
since the money was a problem, the government couldn t do their job so they started

Violence In A Tale Of Two Cities
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens is about a time where the citizens of both
France and England are falling to oppression and violence by the government.
With corrupted politicians taking place; is making the citizens live their lives
ruled by twisted people. One of the big themes in A Tale of Two Cities is
oppression and violence, which is making life difficult for those who are innocent
and want to live their life without pain as the corrupt government ends up making
everyone feel suffering. Politics is a main contributor to oppression and violence
as they tend to care more about themselves. The politicians are pleasing those who
are in a high social class than those who are in a lower social class such as the poor.

They start treating them as trash and not give a second of thought about their
humanity. In 1984 injustice occurs when the government removes the civil rights of
their citizens, they heavily survey their actions and any thought of rebellion can lead
to arrest. The Party the name of the new government undertakes in these activities to
insure they are able to keep their position without being challenged. The
government in Syria led by President Assad uses excess force and treats their people
in a inhumane and uncivil as all the rights of the people are being taken away; in
such an unjust and violent way, which continues to separate the population and cause
more uneasiness between the people as they don t know what will happen. In A Tale
of Two Citiesthe citizens are forced to abide by the rules set by the French
government, with these rules set; if a person breaks them they might be arrested
and sent to prison with ever being able to prove their innocence in a trial or even
be sentenced to a death penalty which keeps the citizens afraid from doing anything

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Living in a world with no free thought would be bland as cardboard. But, if that
cardboard illuminated with fire, would it have more meaning than it did before?
The answer is yes. In the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury, the main
character, Montag, finds much meaning behind the simple element of fire. The
symbol of fire is used to represent how Montag changes himself and his ideas and
thoughts about fire throughout the novel. At first, Montag views fire as
destructive, but enjoys burning because he sees the power of his job as a fireman.
After meeting Clarisse, Montag begins to understand how fire can be seen as
comfort. In the end, Montag realizes that fire can be cleansing and can be symbolic
of hope and passion. Montag learns many things through his journey to find who
he really is. Montag is first intrigued with the desolation left by fire. While the
books went up in sparkling whirls and blew away on a wind turned dark with
burning (Bradbury 2). Montag destroys the one thing that could bring him clear
thoughts mindlessly. He even finds joy in destroying the books because of the
mysterious ways in which fire burnt. ...he [Montag] would feel the fiery smile still
gripped by his face muscles, in the dark. It never went away, that smile, it never
ever went away, as long as he remembered (Bradbury 2). Burning gives Montag a
sense of accomplishment, since there is really no other way to achieve success in a
mental sense. He finds joy in the work he does, even though
Atticus Role Model
What is being a role model? Being a good role model is showing people how to be
a good example by sticking to your own rules and standards yourself. In the novel To
Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, Atticus shows this many times throughout the
story. To Atticus, not following his own values means he cannot tell his children
Scout and Jem to do anything anymore. There are three examples of when Scout and
Jem learn to admire their father, when Tim Johnson had rabies, when he was a lawyer
during a court session, and what happenedafter the court session. One event, where
Scout and Jem learned not to underestimate Atticus is when the neighborhood dog,
Tim Johnson, had rabies. With movements so swift they seemed simultaneous,
Atticus s hand yanked a balled tip lever as he brought the gun to his shoulder. (Page
127). Scout is completely thrown off by the fact that Atticus shot Tim Johnson on
his first attempt. The quote also shows that Scout is in awe because Atticus can
move so fast. This is mainly due to Scout thinking Atticus is an old man. d you see
him, Scout? d you see him just standin there... n all of a sudden he just relaxed all
over, an it looked that gun was a part of him. (Page 129). Jem is pleasantly surprised
to learn that Atticus is a natural sharpshooter. Also, this encounter taught Jem that
Atticus is not useless after all. Well now, Miss Jean Louise... still think your father

Similarities Between Alice Walker And Maya Angelou
Alice Walker and Maya Angelou are two contemporary African American writers.
Although almost a generation apart in age, both women display a remarkable
similarity in their lives. Each has written about her experiences growing up in the
rural South, Ms. Walker through her essays and Ms. Angelou in her
autobiographies. Though they share similar backgrounds, each has a unique style
that gives the readers, the gift of their exquisite humanity, with all of its frailties
and strengths, joys and sorrows. Tragedy struck both of these women at the age of
eight. Ms. Walker lost her sight in one eye. Ms. Angelou was raped. Each described
the incident as part of a larger work. Ms. Walker related her experience in the body of

They encourage the reader to see hope in the midst of sadness. Instead of trying to
elicit a particular emotional response, Angelou invites her audience to share in her
thoughts and feelings. For instance, having given an account of the rape, she
writes, I thought I had died I woke up in a white walled world, and it had to be
heaven. The reader feels a connection with her pain, yet realizes redemption lies
close at hand. Whereas Walker tells how she was confronted by her parents,
Angelou explains, she [mother] picked me up in her arms and the terror abated for
a while. There is no impression of combativeness. There is only tenderness and
care. Once again, she invites the reader in. Walker wants the reader to feel for her;
Angelou wants her audience to feel with her. They achieve their objectives by
directing the reader s attention to specific emotions. The emotional focus of Alice

only at the thought of her devastating injury and her family s apparent
disassociation, but also at Ms. Walker herself. It appeared to me that she never let
go of it. Instead, she seemed to embrace her anger. On the other hand, Ms. Angelou s
anger is subtle and short lived. Though I was incensed by what happened to her, she
quietly insisted that I leave it behind. She concentrated less on her anger and more on
the warmth and support of her family. It
Graffiti Vandalism Essay
During the 1970 s large cities began seeing the rise of spray paint vandalism. Often
teenagers and young adults that took to the streets at night armed with spray paint to
leave their mark on the city. This form of vandalism, dubbed graffiti from the Italian
graffito meaning to scratch (Abel). Though graffiti dates to ancient times it is still a
large scale problem across the world. Graffiti has a negative effect on the community
in which it appears. This form of vandalism is not done to uplift or beautify the
community, like murals or art instillations, but rather to fulfill the selfish desires of
the artist. It is often an indicator of violence and a negligent community that results in
lower property values and higher crimerates.

There is an argument for the status of graffiti as an art form. In the point of view,
graffiti has nothing to do with the destruction of property or willingness to commit
crimes, but with the want and the need to create something new that everyone can
see. Those who take this view regard graffiti as an attempt to beautify or improve
public spaces without first obtaining public approval (Abel). Whilst it is true that
graffiti is considered art, by nature of painting and creating, it is also vandalism.
Vandalism is a deliberate alteration of public or private property without the consent
of the owner of the property. Graffiti involves drawing, writing or marking on non
personal property. There is no defense for the destruction of property,
There are many ways graffiti is used: spreading hate, gang propaganda, or the
perpetrators name or ideas. Graffiti is used to spread hateful messages about race,
religion, etc. It is also used to spread gang propaganda. Marking the territory of
specific gangs or highlighting their members, guns and gang rivalries (Abel). Diverse
types of gangs use this platform to support different thing. Often among African
American gangs, graffiti is important to gain respect and status among members; neo
Nazi and right wing gangs graffiti is used to spread their violent and hateful
messages. (Ferrell)

and hence interacting with people of the same ethnic group (Langrehr Napier, 2014).
Another study looked at ethnic identities of authors in scientific papers based in the
United States. The researchers examined the database from 1985 to 2008 and focused
on 2.3 million co authored papers. It was reported that authors of the same ethnicity
were more likely to coauthor as people of the same ethnicity think more alike.
However, in coauthoring with authors of the same ethnicity was found to reduce the
impact of the papers produced (Freeman Huang, 2015). Hence, it can be seen that
homophily has a clear link with identity. However, there has not been a research that
has examined the relationship of attitude homophily and ethnic identity. Most... Show

In one study the researchers looked at whether homophily could occur between
strangers among adults in the UK. They reported that when belonging to a small
group, there is a higher likability of strangers, however when belonging to a larger
group, homophily with strangers do not occur. The research findings suggest that not
only traits play a role in homophily, but also sense of exclusiveness of a group
(Launay Dunbar, 2014). Apart from that a qualitative research was done among
mothers of minority groups in Germany and Israel in regards to ethnic homophily. It
was found that there was a general high level of ethnic homophily in strong networks.
However, it was also found that language played an important role in reducing
homophily in both weak and strong networks (Titzmann, Serwata, Silbereisen,

was done among young Muslims network in Australia. It was stated that they spent

they did not have to worry about defending their religion. Hence due to feeling

This is emphasising that we are manipulations of our surrounding. It presents us
with the disjointed Hover family, who have been been fixated on certain images,
they have created personas that gloss over their lives, creating a disjointment
between what they are, and how they see themselves. The directors use of the
exposition exposes these obstacles and personas, that the characters have created
to hide their flaws. The symbolism of the mirrors and reflective surfaces reinforces
that who they want and desire to be contradicted who they are. The non diegetic
music commences the film. The tempo is decreased creating a depressed mood.
Olive is shown first, through the Mise en scene of a close up of her face, drawing
the audience to examine her features. Her eyes fixated on the TV, which shows a

mesmerised by the sparkles. Instantly her bulky glasses (acting as a barrier between
her, and her desires) are reflected in the screen, an intentional contraction that the
director uses to point out to the audience that Olive isn t the beauty pageant type .

Standard Oil Myser In Spindletop
During the 19th century there was a rapid growth in industrialization and change
in America. The iron and steel industry spawned new construction materials, the
railroads connected the country and the discovery of oil provided a new source of
fuel (John D. Rockefeller, 2015). The discovery of an oil geyser in Spindletop was
a paramount cause for the rapid growth of the oil industry. Within a year, oil
became the primary fuel in America and became an integral part of the economy.
This state of things is made possible, and is obtaining, solely by and under the
power and use of machinery; first in the hands of individual capitalists; then in the
hands of companies; and, lastly, by corporations (Moody, 1883). Industry leader

economies of scale, Standard Oil did everything from build its own oil barrels to
employ scientists to figure out new uses for petroleum by products (John D.

need to change how the American workers were being treated. Labor unions were
created to help improve the working class with job related complications such as low
pay, unsafe or unhealthy working conditions, and exceptionally long hours. Andrew
Carnegie, an industrial giant in the steel industry, ran his companies with a dictatorial
hand; his factories operated around the clock and workers were burdened with long
hours (Engelman, 2015). Labor unions like the famous American Federation of Labor
and the Knights of Labor were able to improve working conditions for Americans by
establishing laws within the government and business, sometimes using strikes as a
tool to bring about these changes. Many times

The Effects Of Smoking On The Decline Of Smoking Rates
Introduction Despite the fact that Australia has made significant advances in the
decline of smoking rates within the population, with rates falling dramatically since
the 1960s to approximately 14% of the population classed as smokers, smoking
continues to be a leading cause of preventable illness and deaths in Australia.
Worryingly, smoking is attributed to more hospital admissions and deaths than
alcohol and illicit drug consumption combined. Unfortunately, smoking claims a
staggering 15,500 Australians every year. Internationally, the WHO states that 5.4
million people died as a result of smoking in 2008; a figure that is set to rise to 8

Primary prevention endeavours to promote the idea of healthy living and the
reduction of risk factors in order to facilitate this. Smoking cessation programs and
anti smoking education is an example of primary prevention in action. Considering
that smoking is a modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease, it can be
concluded that the primary prevention of smoking would aid in the reduction or
elimination of risk associated with tobacco consumption. It should also be noted
that premature cardiovascular disease is highly preventable therefore primary
prevention is highly desirable. Cardiovascular risk factors can be placed into two
groups. There are non modifiable risk factors such as age, gender, and family
history. These factors are considered to be non modifiable as there is nothing that
can be done to change them. The second group consists of modifiable risk factors
which can be further divided into biomedical, behavioural, and psychosocial risk
factors. Biomedical risk factors include: hypertension, dislipidaemia, being

scientifically minded. Downtown Chicago holds Shedd Aquarium, Adler
Planetarium, Museum of Science and Industry, and the Field Museum of Natural
History. Just due south of the Downtown area, this area is called Museum Campus.
Above all seriousness, the most important would be on how fun Chicago is. There
is all these restaurant to go and eat at. You can take tours on the sky deck of both
the Willis Tower and John Hancock. If you re in the mood for going out on the
lake you can take a water taxi around the Chicago River or even check out the
speedboat ride at Navy Pier. With that in mind, Navy Pier is one of the places you
must go if you are touring Chicago. It brings fun for the kids in the Children s
Museum, and also it has amusement rides as well. If you want to go shop you can
go to The Water Tower Place or Chicago s State Street and Michigan Avenue.
Chicago has anything a tourist can want, but is this just some type of cover

Two of the biggest wind energy companies in the world are in Denmark named
Vestas and Siemens Wind Powerand contributed a lot to the energy sector of
Denmark. Nearly 33% of the energy consumption in Denmark is through wind
energy[3] and according to the latest energy strategy Denmark plans to increase this
percentage to 50% by 2020[4] which would lead to 40% reduction in CO2 emissions
as compared to 1990.
Onshore wind in Denmark is around 4.9 5.6 m/s at a height of 50m while offshore
wind is around 8.5 9.0 m/s at 50m height[5]. Onshore wind technology is almost two
times less expensive than installing offshore wind and is the cheapest form of
renewable energy and the most mature technology in the renewable industry.
Denmark are one of the few countries that are exporting wind energy to their
neighboring countries which helps them because whenever there is no wind they can
run on the electricity provided by the neighboring countries(Germany Sweden
Norway) and similarly they can also provide electricity to their neighbors whenever
there is more energy production.
The present installed wind capacity is 4,855MW and provide almost 6.6TWh of
energy[6]. The significant increase in the installed capacity is mainly because of the
offshore power plants like HornsRev 2, Rodsand 2 and Anholt wind farm which
shows that despite the offshore technology being more expensive Denmark is still
investing in this technology which shows acceptance from both
Marketing Plan For A Marketing Strategy
Marketing plans are essential to businesses and companies in terms of coming up
with a meticulous plan to market and advertise products, such as food brands you
would see on supermarket shelves. For example, marketing and advertising highly
revolves around a marketing plan as it plays an important role in organising and
facilitating a marketingcampaign (Kotler et al., 2009). Marketing plans consist of
multiple different components/sections which, when put together form the overall
plan as a whole. The overall goal of a marketing planis to convey the best possible
course of action a business or company can take to ensure a successful market and
how it can be done and sustained for a period of time (Westwood, 2006). The plan
will be broken down into sections and described and explained throughout this report.
The barriers of marketing plans will also be explored, and food context examples will
be given. The several marketing plan sections, as identified in Kotler et al (2009), are
as follows: background information, the executive summary, current marketing
situation, objectives, marketing strategy, action programmes, projected income
statements, controls, evaluating and the implementation of the marketing plan.
As previously mentioned, marketing plans are essential for companies and
businesses to ensure their products and brands are well established out in the market
and make a good profit. However, many companies face obstacles and barriers which
can stop them from

published in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, USA Today, Forbes,
Business 2.0, and Inc. Price s career background consist of being a reporter for the
Washington, D.C bureau of Investor s Business Daily. Price has researched Jamestown
in multiple occasions. Based on these credentials, I believe David A. Price is a
qualified author. David A. Price is the author of Love and Hate in Jamestown; John
Smith, Pocahontas, and the Heart of a New Nation. This is the history of early
America and how it became the country it is now.

Pocahontas would be brought back into the picture after the English kidnapped her.
She converted to Christianity and married John Rolfe, bringing peace between the
two sides. Pocahontas would then be brought to England as an example of a Savage
being turn to Christianity. After she dies, the peace between the Natives and the
settlers slowly diminishes. In March 22, 1622, the Natives would attack the English,
killing around 400 settlers. This attack backfires on the Native since the English
would attack back more drastically. To end the book, Price talks about John Smiths
life after Jamestown and his opinion on the settlement. The story also addresses the
beginning of Slaves entry in America, which would be an important part in the
history of America. This book overall informs us of early America history.
This novel gives a vivid glimpse of life in early Jamestown. Through this book, we get
the perspectives of not only people living in that time period but of actual settlers in
Jamestown. Many of John Smith s work is incorporated in this novel as well.
Throughout this novel, we begin to question, how did a settlement that consisted
majority of gentlemen become the first English permanent settlement? Through
seventeenth century English documents and first hand reports, Price answers the
question by showing the importance of John Smith and Pocahontas.
David A. Price s argument in this novel is that John Smith and Pocahontas were the
key factors in

  • 4. Pirates Of The Caribbean At World s End Analysis Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End Evaluation Swashbuckling action and fierce battle scenes are abundant in the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is an action adventure film that follows the story of Captain Jack Sparrow, William Turner, and Elizabeth in their adventures on the Caribbean Sea. It is the third film in the series and concludes the Davy Jonesand East India Trading Company story arc. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World s End is the best movie in the franchise because it fleshes out existing characters while staying true to their original characterization, has an interesting and cohesive narrative, and makes excellent use of special effects. The film believably adds to the motivations and actions of the characters. For instance, in the first two films Captain Jack Sparrow struggles with whether to do what is right or to do what he wants. In the first movie, he saves Elizabeth from drowning, but then threatens her in an escape attempt. In the second film, he is willing to send one hundred people to Davy Jones to save himself from having to serve aboard Jones ship. In this film, he has the opportunity to become the immortal captain of the Flying Dutchman. Jack Sparrow loves the sea and the freedom it gives him, but he gives up this chance to allow Will Turner to live. He chooses to do the right thing at the end of this film, showing that he is deep down a good man, albeit with many vices. Elizabeth also grows in

Sexual orientations may be explored, as it has a place in the modern world and need to be represented, especially towards the youth generation. As with race, any producers or designers should try and avoid stereotypical roles that may offend some viewers, such as a stereotypical housewife unless this is necessary for a production, image within a website, ETC. They have two poles that include: north seeking pole (N) and south seeking pole (S). These poles appear to occur in equal and opposite pair. Magnetic meridian is the vertical plane in which the magnetlies. Magnets are made of materials that can be magnetized, which are also the ones that can be attracted to magnet, which are called ferromagnetic materials. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Small bar magnets that are responsible for a magnetic behaviour are actually groups of atoms. Electron particles show magnetic behaviour of their motion each electron has a magnetic moment. Groups of these atoms form small domains, in which the magnetic moments of the electrons are aligned with each other. When material is non magnetised the domains are aligned in random way so their magnetic field cancels each other out. Properties of a simple bar magnet: 1.Unlike poles of magnet attract each other 2.Like poles of magnet repel each other 3.The force of the attraction of a magnet is greater at its poles than in the middle. 4.If a bar magnet is suspended by a thread and if it is free to rotate, its south pole will move towards the north pole of the earth and vice versa. A magnetic field is the magnetic effect of electric currents and magnetic materials. The magnetic field at any given point is specified by both a direction and a magnitude (or strength); as such it is a vector field. A magnetic field may be plotted by using a plotting compass to define the lines of force. Bar magnet is placed on a sheet of white paper. Starting near one end of the magnet, the positions of the ends of the compass needle are marked by pencil dots. The compass is then moved until the near end of the needle is exactly over the dot furthest from the magnet and a
