Reflection Paper on District Conference Experience As a Board of Examiners
Admission s student, this year s District Conference was observed through a
different lens. I was able to watch the significance of this year s theme and it s
relation to scripture. I observed the preaching styles of both Presiding Elder
Benjamin R. Finnell and Retired Presiding Elder Donna Roberson. I was able to
watch closely the business of the church conducted by Presiding Elder Finnell, what
things he targeted, and how he resolved any problems. Finally, I was able to witness

Lord of the Flies
In life, there are a lot of things that hold people back from doing what they want to
do. One of the major things is the laws of society. William Golding s novel, Lord of
the flies, illustrates what would happen without society. After the plane crashes on
the abandoned island during World War Two, a group of british boys are left alone
to survive and fight for their ife. When the boys are first dropped off on the island,
they still have their civilized behavior with them. It changes significantly throughout
the novel. Goldings intentions in writing the novel is to show how men are born evil
but rely on society to be kept in check. Without the necessary structure for everyday
life that the industrialized world provides the boys find that, with the lack of
punishment or consequences for their actions, why not do whatever they want. Losing
all care of responsibility and only care about providing themselves personal
gratification. They ate most of the day, picking fruit wherever they could reach it and
not particular about ripeness or quality. They were used now to stomach aches and a

Anthropology is a broad study of the products and precedents of human behavior.
These products and precedents include the study of material objects, institutions and
factors that contribute to social change and understanding of human behavior. In
studying human behavior, ethnocentrism and cultural relativism will be examined as
these concepts expose the authors (McDonnell 2016). Male domination will also be
considered while examining these concepts as an important trait in the Afghan society.
Ethnocentrism is an idea supported by a mixture of beliefs that one s own culture is

Elections shape the scope and size of our government. It s an event where the people
can decide the direction of a locality, a state, and even the federal government.
Immigrants and youth who can t vote are still impacted by the decisions of those
being elected. Elections are paramount to our system of governance, however the way
campaigns are run, and how funds are raised lack any meaningful oversight. The
united statescampaign finance system is in need reform, due to increasing
deregulation, poor voter participation, and drastic increases third party spending. The

With the knowledge that political advocacy has drastically increased following
deregulation of the campaign finance system, and resulted in a lower turnout,
fixing our system is not an easy matter. Many politicians have championed bills
such as tester murphy which unilaterally reverses the Citizens United court case.
This bill would allow FEC to regulate money and stripe organizations first
amendment protections. However according to outsiders such as Hasen this bill
has two key problems. The first issue is in relation to its limitations. Under this bill
the press would still be allowed political advocacy protections. With the rise of the
internet it also allows for shadow press agencies to be created online and
participate in political advocacy. Due to this loophole the funds from current
donors would simply shift from a 501c4 to a press outlet. The second issue is this
bill would need to become an amendment. With the divided political landscape, it is
extremely unlikely a super majority could be formed by either the legislative body
