Dr King Nobel Peace Prize Speech Sparknotes
Dr. King s Nobel Peace Prize Lecture was one of the most powerful reading
assignments during my first year in the United States. As an international student
from Saudi Arabia, I never imagined that one person could change the world. Dr.
King believed in non violence in order to obtain social justice, racial integration, and
civil rights. In essence, Dr. King s speech represented the progressive nature of the
United Statesand it motivated me to become a future leader in my home county, Saudi
Arabia.
Dr. Martin Luther King s Nobel Peace Prize speech is an academic piece of writing
which documents his beliefs on nonviolence over his career. It was my first
experience with political writing since this form of freedom of expression is illegal ...

King believed that violence is both impractical and immoral. King was an ordained
Baptist minister, who embraced the tenets of Christianity and wholeheartedly
preached brotherhood, peace, and love for all men including white and blacks,
alike. King believed Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical
and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about
momentary results (King, 1964, pg. 8). Subsequently, King did not believe in
violence and preached non violence. King felt that nonviolence was the only means
to fight oppression, racism, and injustice. King preached tenets of universal love;
moreover, King fought against despair, racial separatism, and hate. King s message
is extremely inspiring and speaks to be broad audience, including residents of the
Middle East. The equality of races can only be achieved through peaceful arguments
and demonstrations. For myself, nonviolence is the only legitimate weapon against
fighting social injustice. King s message could be interpreted and applied to any
situation or community. For myself, hate and revenge can be only be dominated
through the application of nonviolence. King also spoke about bringing about the end

The Biological Causes For Serial Killers
Introduction: This investigation examines the biological causes for serial killers
psychopathic tendencies and examines those same biological factors in both men
and women to find the correlation between a higher rate of male serial killers and
the biology behind their actions. It is imperitave to first know what a serial killeris,
and what makes them such a cold fish. There are sections of the brain that do have
control over a human being s personality, where that individual can either develop
into an average person or join the other one percent of psychopaths living in the
world today (due to physical damage or chemical imbalance in the brain). These
specific sections of the brain are different in males then in females, some
components of the brain vary in size etc. between sexes. It is crucial to have all
these pieces, with this information its then possible to form a conlusion to the
surfaced question. To stretch ones knowledge and understanding of serial killers a
necasssary source is the Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, second edition by Micheal
Newton , which gives detailed insight on the worlds most infamous serial killers and
their tactics, not including other informative articles sited later on in the analysis. In
addition to that source, another applicable book would be The Emotional Brain by
Joseph LeDoux, assisting in learning the physical structures of the brain that control
ones emotions and motivations, as well as the male brain versus the females.

Nietzsche Forgiveness And Forgetfulness
Philosophical Anthropology (Seminar) Term Paper (Draft)
Krishna S (0607197)
In this paper, I am going to elucidate on the significance of the concepts of
forgiveness and forgetfulness in Hannah Arendt and Friedrich Nietzsche s
conceptualization of human action and agency.
Remedial Action: Forgiveness and Promise
Hannah Arendt in her book, The Human Condition, delineates the three fundamental
human activities that set up the Vita Activa: Labour, Work and Action. Arendt
constitutes them to be fundamental because each of these corresponds to one of the
basic conditions under which life on earth has been given to man . (Arendt, 1958:7).
Arendt s conceptualizes labour as the Sisyphean tasks of our life. It includes all the

develops a framework for the subject where the Unconscious is in a hyphen with
the Other s discourse. In melancholia, Freud postulates, that the love object is kept
alive by being held captive in the inner world of the subject. The shadow of the
object is incorporated, thus splitting the ego into the one [who] seeks to detach the
libido from the object [thus allowing the subject to live and the object to die], the
other to maintain this position of the libido [which is bonded to the immortal internal

Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration
Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells,
producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of
cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and
is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate
molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the
pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle.
Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to
produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the
lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP.
The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air
is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which
regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live
Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the
lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the
end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the
lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli (
Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air
and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries,
which are small

The Music Of The 1930 S
The 1930 s was a decade of extremely hard times, following the stock market crash
and an extreme depression. In spite of the tremendous hardships in America during
this decade, it also became a time of great music that is still remembered today.
Jazz music was highly popular in this time, and Billie Holiday was a famous jazz
performer. She stood out from many other musicians because of her intense and
passionate performances. Jazz arose from unacceptable segments of society, but
quickly grew like wildfire. We often think of the 1930 s as the decade that jazz
became civilized, and famous throughout popular culture through the work of
pioneering artists like Billie Holiday. People did not own televisions or cable, so
radio was their main source of entertainment, and music during this decade was both
up beat and a source of relaxation. Strange Fruitdefied musical category because it
was considered too artsy to be folk, and too explicitly political to fit into jazz. This
is why Strange Fruit became such a powerful phenomenon. Many other artists later
took on this song, changing the genre but still portraying the same message. Nina
Simone dramatized Strange Fruit in the context of the Civil Rights Movement. More
important artists like Jeff Buckley, Rene Marie, Labor Camp Orchestra, and many
others made their own rendition on the song, still leaving all of their audiences
moved by the powerful imagery of the lyrics. Strange Fruit , the haunting ballad

The Mummy
Ancient egypt was a fantastic and innovative culture which was incredibly advanced
for its time. The ancient egyptians had many beliefs vital for their continuation as a
civilization. The birth of the sun in the east and its death in the west, this belief was
a core in their region as they lived in the east, and buried their dead in the west. to
aid in the passage into the afterlife the pharaoh and some nobility, would be

the cycle of the sun and moon was to represent creation (tayler pg 29). this cycle
was referenced in almost everything, even where they lived and buried their dead.
In The Mummy they state Hamunaptra, city of the dead and burial site for the sons
of kings (sommers 0.04.00) this sounds reasonable except that this fictional city
resides in the east not in the west where it should theoretically be. this quote taken
from the movie, doesn t explicitly say where the city resides but later on we can
see the sun rising revealing Hamunaptra (sommers 0.37.51). In the beginning of the
movie we see the Pyramids of Giza, then the camera pans down and the narrator
says that the city they are in is Thebes( sommers 0.1.08).the reason why the
Pyramids of Giza are named such is because they are in Giza. The ruins of Thebes is
in modern day Luxor, The pyramids of Giza are approximately seven hundred
kilometres north from Luxor (Egypt [map]), and by extension Thebes. so not only
was Sommer incorrect about the theoretical placement of hamunaptra, but he was
also about 700 kilometres wrong about the Giza
The Issue Of Bullying At School
In this week assignment I am going to describe an issue that I passionate about it.
Bully is an issue that destroys a family specialist the kid involve in the situation.
Those children can experience negative physical, school, and mental health issues.
Kids who are bullied are more likely to experience. Depression and anxiety,
increased feelings of sadness and loneliness, changes in sleep and eating patterns, and
loss of interest in activities they used to enjoy. These issues may persist into
adulthood. Three actions that I would take to address the issue with bullyingat school
and the challenges I might encounter taking the action to address each and achieve
my goals.
The issue of bullying at school is one of the issues I passionate person because I
have the experience three years ago with my own son. I think that s something that
help to recognize that something was not right with my son s was seeing him
getting isolating himself in his room after school and himself too sensitive and he
use to cry for everything and anything into my son feel comfortable to share with me
what he was experiencing at school being bullied and being physically abused by one
his classmates.
The first thing I did as a parents remind me son that he was not alone and he has a
hundred percent of support his family, then I went to school and requested a meeting
with the teacher and principal and the parent of other children because to me was
going to be the last time I will have a type
The Aviation Industry Has Made Great Advances
Improved...
The aviation industry has made great advances in improving flight safety. These
successes have been obtained thanks to the improvements made in aircraft designs
and systems, which consequently helped in decreasing pilot error. Although they
are considered one of the great successes in the industry and safety of flight has
improved significantly, however, seventy to eight percent of aircraft accidents are
still caused by pilots error, which therefore makes it one of the most contributory
factors to aircrafts accidents. Every airplane accident has profound consequences on
many ends and is considered one of the most tragic events that can occur. Accidents
deeply weigh on the minds of the family victims and they often also result in major
attention from the media and the general public. When accidents occur, the pilots
are the ones who are immediately thought to have caused the accident and are often
held liable for it. In the history of aviation, several accidents were due to pilot error
and the effects of regulations and legal implications as a result of them have been
several and complicated (Dismukes, 2007). The National Transportation Security
Board, or NTSB, the US government agency that is in charge of investigating and
determining the causes of all accidents involving US civil aviation, is responsible to
analyze everything that lead to an accident from examining the wreckage, the aircraft
design, and the aircraft s performance characteristics to evaluating
The Uniform Crime Report
The Uniform Crime Report identifies Part 1 Offenses as: criminal homicide,
forcible rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny theft, motor vehicle
theft, and arson (U.S Department of Justice, 2009). These crimes can be more
simply described as the most serious offences. For this project and my analysis, I will
assume that all 100% of all crimeswere reported during the years in which the data
was collected. Figure 2: Calls for Service, clearly shows that the number of police
calls have increased drastically in all precincts between 1983 and 1989. This is
especially true between 1984 and 1986. Interestingly, the West Precinct seems to
have had some sudden, drastic drops in the number of calls for service between 1986
1987
Sex Offender Management
I.Introduction
The proper management and treatment of adult and juvenile sex offender play a
crucial role in the protection of the general public. In order to properly manage and
treat sex offenders the: who, what, where, why and how of the sexual offender and
the sexual offense committed. When issuing management and treatment the nature of
the crime comes into great thought of whether it was rape, public exposure, sodomy,
possession of child pornography, etc. All of these crimes all have different
punishments that follow which would also mean the management and treatment of
the sex offender would be different as well. When attempting to come up with the best
management and treatment method of these sex offenders the individuals assigning ...

As mentioned earlier as much as the offender wants to change that is not enough.
Wanting to change is usually not enough to be able to change the patterns that lead
to sexual offenses. To create the motivation to change, some offenders need a
variety of treatment and corrective interventions, and for others learning how to
make the change in their own behavioral cycle of abuse is more effective, (Office
of the Attorney General State of California). Historically it was ok to marry a
twelve year old child and start reproducing around fourteen years of age. This was
because life expectancy was not that long and at around the age of fourteen
individuals was considered to be adults and thus it was acceptable. Thus there being
no need for treatment because there was no sex offender cases. While in today s
society this is no longer acceptable while in some places the age of consent is as
young as sixteen years (The Age of Consent). With the history of sex offender
management came treatment which was castration which is the altogether removal
of genitals, and imprisonment. While according the Bureau of Justice Assistance
there are three forms of treatment for sex offenders. There is the cognitive behavioral
approach, which focuses on changing the thinking patterns of an offender. The
psycho educational approach focuses on increasing the offender s
Summary Of John Yossarian s Catch-22
John Yossarian is a bombardier of the 256th Squadron of the Army Air Forces during
World War II. He is stationed in Pianosa, a small island off the coast of Italy, and has
been ordered to bomb enemy positions. The story begins with Yossarian attempting to
escape the war through feigning liver complications, which could be considered the
exposition of this story. Through this experience, the reader learns about Yossarian
s
hatred and confusion towards the war and his strong desire to avoid it at all costs.
Yossarian views the war in a different way than most: he is angered by the arbitrary
nature of death and by the fact that at any point, he himself could succumb to the
war. It is for this reason that Yossarian is so affected by the death of Snowden, a
soldier who died right in front of him in the air.... Show more content on

Through a series of anecdotes that are usually biased towards Yossarian s point of
view, the reader is taken through a series of paradoxes that are each known as a
variation of catch 22 that is, illogical and paradoxical reasoning that justifies reality.
The storyline of Catch 22 is not chronological, and offers the reader bits and pieces
of key moments in Yossarian s life at war. Yossarian struggles to survive in a war
with constant obstacles Colonel Cathcart raising the number of missions in a tour
of duty, facing near death experiences, and more. His main goal is to leave the war,
and requests to do so until Doc Daneeka informs him that his request interferes with
catch 22. Yossarian s request to leave the war would deem him as sane, making him
perpetually stuck in a war effort that deems those who have the desire to fly insane.
Amidst Yossarian s own stories, the reader is exposed to the troubles of Yossarian s

Cause And Effects On The Atomic Bomb
In all of World War II, some events stand out above the rest. Many think of the
atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the worst events in the war. These
bombings, carried out by President Harry S. Truman, had an immense impact on the
history of the U.S. and the history of the world. The question is, were these
bombing a true necessity, considering how many innocent people they killed as well
as the damage they caused to Japan? By bombing these two cities, America created a
new type of warfare that could potentially destroy the world: nuclear warfare(OI). The
nuclear bomb is a horrible weapon, capable of killing tens of thousands of people
with one explosion. In this case, Little Boy took the lives of 80,000 Japanese people,
innocent or not, with another 70,000 people being injured (OI). Although devastating
events, these bombings specifically were integral to ending the war, as well as being
a military necessity.
First off, a big part of the question is how far the taking of lives goes. Although
Little Boy took tens of thousands of lives, the Japanese also killed a greater
amount of U.S. citizens. For example, in the 1940 s the Japanese hosted the Bataan
death march, in which they forced 76,000 captured allied soldiers to march about
80 miles to the Bataan peninsula without getting food or water for three days (Doc.
B). Those who fell behind were beaten and killed by the Japanese. The march lasted
for six days and there was a total death toll between 5,000 and

Slip And Fall Lawyer Essay
When a person is injured in an accident that involves a slip and fall, they need legal
representation. Many don t know how to find a slip and fall attorney, however, or
what to look for when doing so. Following are some tips to help in this process and
things to keep in mind when the time comes to make a selection. Why An Attorney
Is Essential Proving fault in a slip and fall case can be difficult. Often, it isn t
obvious who is to blame, and multiple parties may ultimately be held accountable.
An attorney understands how to establish liability and prove damages and can also
easily identify who may be responsible in a case of this type. The average person
lacks these skills, thus legal help is needed. Proving Liability The first step is the
process is to show that the defendant or defendants were negligent and this led to the
injuries. Falls tend to happen quickly, leaving the injured party unaware of exactly
what happened. The lawyer works to determine this, using information from
witnesses, any evidence collected on the injured party s clothing or other items in the
area and more. He or she also determines what led to the accident, such as defective
equipment, poor building construction and other factors. Once the accident scene has

For example. lost income must be properly documented and all other expenses
directly related to the accident tracked. It isn t always easy to obtain medical
records, simply as medical professionals are overwhelmed with other tasks. In
addition, the medical records may not directly correlate the injuries to the accident.
When selecting a slip and fall lawyer, individuals need to ensure they find one who
works with doctors to obtain this information by having the doctor or doctors write
reports stating the relationship between the two. The attorney will also use other
tactics to ensure all damages are compensated, including those of the emotional and
psychological
Community Food Security And Food Availability And...
INTRODUCTION
Community food security relates to food availability and accessibility. To be
considered community food secure, all individuals in a community should have
access to sufficient amounts of safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate food that are
produced in an environmentally sustainable way (Desjardins et al, 2002). However,
reduced agriculture land due to increased urbanization has decreased the
accessibility of food to the public and has led to food insecurity in many
communities locally and globally. The rising urbanized general public has a limited
understanding of food since food is usually produced some miles away (Iverson et al,
2014). In recent years, the popularity of urban agriculture and community gardens are
raising in many cities in North America (Iverson et al, 2014). A majority of civic
politicians come to believe that healthier, safer and fresher food could be grown in
the middle of city at a suitable cost, which can improve food availability,
affordability and accessibility locally (Wong Hallsworth, 2016). Urban agriculture
can improve the access to healthy food, can develop sustainable food systems, and
advance food justice for all people in the struggling community. It is a solution to
address the issue of community food security.
CLAIMS AND EVIDENCE
Urban agriculture can improve the access to healthy food for individuals in the
community. There is real potential for urban agriculture to empower certain
motivated communities to end their

The Internet had given people broad number of expanding opportunities, literally
wiping away boundaries and distances. It is also a massive source of data. Most of
us can not see the life without the internet, others underestimate its value. Some
people view it as a great evil, other see it as a great good. But the Internet proves to
be neither of those.
The Internet is a global system, a huge cyberspace serving to thousands of users
worldwide. It is a network of networks with different levels of access and different
levels of security. And still, there are always people behind what happens in the
cyberspace the internet is what we make of it and how we use it.
Common users are not always safe from the dangers they are exposed to. And while
there are numerous helpful and beneficial features one can find there, these good
things are balanced out by the dangers one can encounter in the cyberspace.
Another point of concern is how people are absorbed by the Internet culture, how the
concept of virtuality migrates into alternative kind of reality.
The goal of this paper is to explore and find ways to make the internet an optimal
tool, for everybody.
2. Statement of Controlling Purpose
The purpose of this paper is to define the impact of internet communications on our
daily lives and compare its positive and negative effects on social relationships and
personal characteristics of users.

The Fight for Bilingual Education and Women’s Rights
in...
The Civil Rights movement, during the 1960s and 1970s, created many changes for
both American society and its schools. The transformations were the result of such
movements as Bilingual Education, women s rights activity, and the passing of the
Public Law 94 142 legislation. The incorporation of these new laws and ideas into
society all came with their own consequences. Each of them helped, in some way, to
lessen the inequality of minority groupsin America, like students whose primary
languagewas not English, women, and handicapped children. They also faced
opposition by certain groups, who did not feel that their inclusion in American life
was necessary. Those fighting for the minorities, though, were steadfast in their...

The third approach, bilingual education, suggested teaching the student s native
language and English equally.
According to Urban and Wagoner in American Education: A History, advocates of
this last approach sometimes emphasized biculturalism as well and bilingualism
(ibid.).
These attempts were both supported and opposed by various parties.
Those who defended incorporation of bilingual education into American schools
included politicians and other Hispanic leaders, who were trying to prevent
assimilation. Opposers included teachers, Anglo politicians, and some
Hispanic intellectuals , who thought that it was important for the children to
assimilate in to the society (ibid.).
Women s rights activity also became popular in the 1960s, but did not have many
large effects on the schools. Teachers did not want to be involved with the feminists,
and so the activists also distanced themselves from the teachers. The hard work and
determination of the feminists did though, bring about the passing of the Title IX of
the Higher Education Act in 1972 (ibid., 320).
This act instilled gender equality in institutions of higher education, and has played a
monumental role in regulating fairness among the sexes in colleges and universities.

Guns And Gun Rights
Gun rights have been an issue and a hot topic in United States for quite some time,
recently assault rifles have been apart of that conversation. This issue has many
different opinions depending on the people you ask some people believe they
should be able to possess an assault rifle while some believe that they should be
limited, banned, or both. The last big push to halt manufacturing of these was the
1994 Assault Weapons Ban, this was supposed to prevent production of these
weapons but vague and unclear While guns are our second amendment right, assault
rifles are to deadly and accurate for the average person to handling as these weapons
are made to be used for military purposes not hunting or sporting.
Shootings in the United States have rose and assault rifles are not helping those
numbers go down. Out of the the top 4 deadliest shootings in United States history 3
of the shooters have used assault rifles in their attacks totaling 134 deaths including
children. While some think otherwise these numbers do not constitute owning an
assault rifle for the fun of owning one. Assault rifle bans have proven to work by
taking these weapons out of civilians hands The percent of weapons seized by
Virginia police that were high capacity fell from 16 to 9 percent. In the years after
the ban expired, the percent of high capacity seizures rose rapidly to 20 percent by
2010 ( Christopher Ingraham). These number help to prove that assault rifle bans
have done good to prevent these
Essay about Smoking In Public Places
In current events, a huge issue among state and city lawmakers all over the country
is the debate over whether or not smoking should be banned in public places. Many
argue that allowing people to smoke in public places proposes serious health risks for
innocent bystanders. Though the health risks are high, many still oppose the
proposal of such laws. Business owners presiding over such establishmentsas bars and
restaurants worry that the smoking bans will severely hurt their revenues if passed.
While this is an understandable concern, the health of our communities citizens is
much more important than the loss of a handful of customers for businesses.

Brian Dunsmore, opposed to the bill said, What are we going to say to our

this bill is taking away. Is the smoking ban really an infringement on the citizens
liberties and individual rights? Isn t allowing people to smoke in public places is a
step toward protecting their liberties and individual rights? Shouldn t a non smoker,
who is just as constitutionally protected as the smoker beside him, be allowed the
individual right to protect his personal health? The bill, in reality, is a bill proposed
to help protect the patrons of businesses that currently allow smoking inside of their
establishments. Rep. Francis Brooks stated, My smoke from my cigarette should not
be going into your lungs. It is not a case of taking rights away from someone who
fought for this country. It was suggested at the hearing that the clubs and bars might
actually profit by offering a more welcoming and health conscious environment for
customers.
This assertion has been found to be true in Boston, Massachusetts. A recent report
from Harvard researchers says that the cities bars and restaurants have gained
customers and added jobs since a statewide smoking ban took effect. According to this

Nantahala Lake
Nantahala Lake is located 3000 feet above sea level in the Nantahala National
Forest. Its features include crystal clear water, waterfalls, hiking trails, fishing,
lodging, and many more amenities. The lake is regulated and maintained by Duke
Power and it is a major source of hydroelectricity for the surrounding counties. It
was created in 1942 by Nantahala Power to provide electricity for war efforts. The
lake holds 42 miles of shoreline, which makes the waters close to the shore murky,
but as soon as you get out into the middle, it gets very clear! Nantahala Lake
releases into the Nantahala River, creating one of the nation s most known
whitewater rivers. When the river is considered on the rafters and kayakers come to

The New Terrain And Distance Viewing
Now, I will give some commentary from my experiences playing alpha 15. As I
had mentioned, in my previous article, I rather like the new terrain and distance
viewing. I am indeed excited about the new possibilities it offers for building things
(as I rather like to construct buildings and make my own small towns). I have begun
to explore the buildings possibilities, which I will get into later.
The dynamic of progression for production has changed. The change in the steel
perk, the increased number of things which need the work bench to craft them, the
new components, and the new things to craft have changed things. It used to be
that I could get the steel perk so easily that I could basically skip iron crafting
versions of things, and go straight to steel axes, and steel picks. I cannot do that
anymore. Now the requirements for getting steel make it so that I have to use iron
tools for a significant period of time before I can get the ability to craft their steel
versions. This, in addition to the items requiring mechanical and electrical parts give
the game a more staged progression. Now there are more rather distinct stages before
getting to the best stuff. This adds a new dimension of fun and challenge to it.
Though I would give some tips for trying to get to the steel production level. Invest
early on in resource collection and building stuff. The steel perks need a certain level
in construction and tool skills in order for you to purchase them. Also, building stuff
Rainforests Have Been Declining Rapidly over the Last
Few...
Rainforests have been declining rapidly over the last few decades. There are
various factors responsible for this decline, resulting in serious impacts on the
environment and the economy. Critically discuss the causes of deforestation and
solutions to it. Deforestation is the cutting down of a large area of trees and the
destruction of forests by people. Forests are what we call an exhaustible resource,
one which can be used up if it is not used carefully. Over the last few decades,
deforestationhas threatened the rainforests with total extinction. To understand why
deforestation is such an important issue, you first have to understand why trees
matter. Trees improve in many ways the life of all species, including the human race.

In his concept, Adam Smith explains that in a free market no regulation of any type
would be needed to ensure that the mutually beneficial exchange of goods and
services can take place, since the invisible hand would guide market participants to
trade in the most mutually beneficial manner. (www.investorwords.com)
Many private agents, according to these studies, have no interest in maintaining the
forest s beauty and biodiversity, as services provided by forests are benefits that
cannot be priced, so are not profit making.
Another factor precipitating deforestation appears to be poverty. Commonly held
views argue that high discount rates received by poor countries are a cause of
deforestation (The World Bank Forestry Policy 1991, Pearce and Watford 1993.).
Because forests imply long gestation; private agents, particularly from the poorest
countries, value what they can get immediately from forests more than what they can
get in the future. But in 1999, Ekbom and Bojo challenged those views in a World
Bank examination by showing that poverty does not necessarily lead to shorter time
horizons and an increased rate of environmental degradation. They show how in fact
the rural poor have used resources in a conservationist manner over a long period
spanning centuries. Ostrom (1990), one of the various analysts they quoted,
established a number of conditions that would lead to long term use of common
resources despite their short time
We Grow Accustomed To The Dark By Emily Dickinson
Analysis
You feel the sun burning onto your skin as you gulp down some cold sweet
lemonade. Your senses allow you to feel, taste, smell, hear, and most importantly
they allow you to see. Our senses tend to play a large role onto how we perceive
everything around us. This is stated in the poem titled, We grow accustomed to the
Dark by Emily Dickinson, An essay called Coming to our Senses by Neil deGrasse
Tyson, and the book review written by Matilda Battersby, which was tiled Every
Second Counts. All three texts establish how our senses aren t enough to facilitate
our understanding. To begin with, even in darkness, we are always able to find
light. In the Poem We grow accustomed to the Dark by Emily Dickinson, the author
portrays the idea of how the human eye adjusts to darkness. In the poem she states
how We grow accustomed to the Dark/ When Light is put away (Dickinson 156).

In the text Coming To Our Senses Neil DeGrasse Tyson expresses how our 5
senses are useful but in order to understand more about how our universe works we
need special tools. In the text it says how If the blob were far out in space,
appearing as an unresolved point of light in the sky, our five senses would offer us
no insight to its distance, velocity through space, or its rate of rotation (Tyson 164).
Tyson speaks on about how our senses alone aren t enough to gather information and
help us understand things clearly. We would need technology in order to be
enlightened due to the fact that our senses are limited and only give us a very small
advantage. We are left at a disadvantage when it comes into further understanding the
universe in general. While our senses are extremely helpful, we still need a lot of
essential machinery in order to further understand the mysteries of the
Romans, A Wonderful Letter Essay
Romans is a wonderful letter, written by Paul in 56 A.D. to the believers in Rome.
At the time of it s composition, Paul was in Corinth on his third missionary
journey. Paul explains that his audience is the Christians of Rome (1:7), and that
his desire is for them to read what he has to say. Paul had always desired to visit the
church of Rome, but had not found an opportunity to do so (1:11). Paul s purpose in
writing to the saints of Rome was to proclaim the gospelto both the Greek and
Jewish believers. As evidenced in Romans 1:16 17, we can see Paul emphatically
and passionately scratching out his letter: I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it
is God s power for salvationto everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to
the Greek. For in it God s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is
written: The righteous will live by faith . Paul was very intentional and honest to
his audience. He wanted his readers from the beginning of his letter to realize that
the gospel is for all people. This is important for people to grasp. The gospel is for all
people, and that is the theme I would personally use for teaching Romans.
Timeline Setup
All that to say, here is the Romans teaching plan I have constructed. My audience
would be found in small groups. I believe small groups allow for more discussion,
more discipleship, more intentionality, and greater opportunities for open discussion.
I would preferably want to teach adults, because
Social Inequality In 1820s
Social inequality in 1820s Social equality has been a goal of America since its very
beginning. However, it was only an intention to be socially equal, but not a goal.
Social equality or the fact that all men were created equal only applied to the white
man. There was no intention in meaning that the blacks and Indians or even the
women were equal. In the eyes of the delegates, and the common white majority,
blacks, indians, and women were not an issue. To them, it was apparent that blacks
were kids, Indians were savages, and women were homemakers. From the late 18th
centuryto the mid 19th century was the greatest era of social and racial inequality in
all American history.

Intercommunion Research Paper
Intercommunion has been a major discussion when it comes to the uniting the
Christian churches. Intercommunion is when non Catholic Christian receive the
Eucharist/communion in the catholic church or when other Christian receive
communions in a different church. Although the reason behind intercommunion is
for uniting the different churches, it still challenges belief and practices. The Catholic
Churchviewpoint of the Eucharistis different from other Christian, and this creates
issues because there is a different appreciation for it. The catholic Church views the
Eucharist as being more than a symbol (Heintz). To them, it s a special sign that
shows the representation of JesusChrist. The Eucharist represent the body, blood and
soul of Jesus... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes it difficult to do intercommunion because it s other Christian receiving the
Eucharist in a church they do not belong to. It defeats the purpose of this sacrament.
According to the code of Canon Law, it is considered illicit or unlawful if a catholic
receives communion from a protestant church because an individual can only be in
full communion with one church (Field). Although they may have an expectation
when it comes to the law such when a dying person request for a communion.
Catholics and Intercommunion: Intercommunion is a very touchy subject by Michael
Heintz talks about a significant difference in belief and practice between Catholics
and other Christian, and these differences still exist. This another reason why
intercommunion is not possible because to part take in communion one must believe
in what the church practice. But if one do not believe in the practice, and have a
practice of their own then one cannot part take in it. This is a major factor when it
comes to the Eucharist because it connecting the individual to the church.
Intercommunion cannot be possible if the churches have a different understanding of
the Eucharist (Heintz). People who do not understand the meaning of the Eucharist
should ask a question before part taking it because it also shows respect. The way a
person practice
Adult Relationships And Same Sex Marriage
It is unclear what percentages of adult relationships are polyamorous in America, as
there is limited research with this population. However, it is evident that many
Americans find this alternative to monogamy beneficial. When compared to
monogamous individuals, polyamorous individuals experience greater levels of
intimacy in their relationships (Morrison, Beaulieu, Brockman, Beaglaoich, 2013).
Per the research, polyamory is potentially a fulfilling alternative to traditional
monogamous relationships for those who choose polyamory in place of monogamy.
Historically, there is limited evidence for cultures that that relied on same sex
marriage as a primary relationship structure. However, currently there is growing
cultural acceptance of same sex marriage and gay affirming communities in which
same sex relationships and same sex marriages experience support (Baunach, 2012).
According to the 2010 United States Census, same sex households¬¬ also called
unmarried same sex partner households grew by 80.4% between the 2000 and 2010
US Census. One June 26th of 2015, the American Supreme Court ruled that banning
same sex marriage in any U.S. state was unconstitutional (Pew Research, 2015). This
new occurrence will offer an opportunity for more research regarding same sex
marriage culture. In addition to this, attitudes regarding same sex relationship have

Legal Positivists And Natural Law
An unjust law cannot be a valid law In the light of Natural Law and Positivist
theories, assess the accuracy of the above statement. To what extent are legal
positivists and natural law theorists accurate in terms of the idea that an unjust law
cannot be a valid law ? In this essay i will attempt to define the concept of the
validity of law in relation to both natural law theorists and positivist theorists. For
the purpose of this essay I will define validity of a law as Having legal force;
effective or binding (The Free Dictionary). The main reason for the continual
debate between both theories is that they are both very similar although they may
appear to be at contrary ends of each spectrum. Natural law theorists believe that in
order for a law to be valid it must have some moral principle therefore if laws which
are enacted in statues have no authority, they are not moral. Whereas positivists
support and emphasise the importance of a division between morality and law. I
will begin by outlining both theories. I will then move onto asses the accuracy of
the following statement, An unjust law cannot be a valid law this includes
establishing the similarities and differences of both theories; in order to do this
effectively it is essential that a thorough understanding of both theories has been
developed. Finally I will summarise my findings, An unjust law cannot be a valid law
true or false? The first question we need to address in order to be able to assess this
Examples Of Racism And Ethnocentrism In The Movie
Crash
Racism, and ethnocentrism can be a significant factor in determining if an individual
can maintain a healthy interpersonal relationship. Both racism and ethnocentrism can
be barriers that affect competent cross cultural communication. Crash (Schulman
Haggis, 2004) is a film that has characters of very different natures. The characters
may be involved in conflicts due to the differences in genders, cultures and races. As
these strangers in the film crash into each other, you may notice that racismand
ethnocentrismcan really affect the way the characters are able to build a strong and
healthy interpersonal relationship. In Crash (Schulman Haggis, 2004) the character
Officer Ryan is constantly in conflict with others due to racism and ethnocentrism.
He has been an officer and with the force for 17 years. However, he seems to be
extremely racist when he encounters African Americans. Officer Ryan is a typical
looking American male, the movie portrayed him to be tall, dark and handsome.
However, he is also out spoken and seemingly arrogant. Ryan seems to have that
better than the rest attitude, it is evident through the way he portrays himself in the
movie. If he overcomes these barriers he would be able to establish some positive
relationships. Officer Ryan also seems to have accumulated anger and false
assumption about those around him. For example, when he pulled over Director
Cam and his wife Christine, he was angry with their racial difference and made false

The doctors understood that to a greater extent most Americans were unable to meet
their medical expenses. In 1927 the AMA formed a Committee that concluded that

The Blue Cross plans proved popular and hospitals began to unite together to offer

Personal Reflective Essay
I landed in the beautiful city of London on June 30th. As I left the plane, I
immediately took note of the immense amount of diversity in London s Gatwick
Airport. Seven days prior to my arrival, the British people voted, in a historical
referendum, to leave the European Union, leaving the entire EU rattled and the
world in shock about what is to come in global affairs. Upon arriving at
immigration, I immediately took note of the three lines into which travelers were
placed UK passport holders, EU citizens and non EU Citizens. It excited me to know
how historic of a time it was to be in the United Kingdom. Brexit made the
exploration of my personal learning goal far deeper, more exciting and more
impactful that I would have ever anticipated last spring when selecting my area of
focus. In the Spring, I had no idea about Brexit or the influence it would have on my
personal learning goal. I feel fortunate for this experience and have enjoyed reflecting
on Londonin light of my learning goal. Thinking about politics and its interactions
with the culture, values, geography and history of the UK and the EU has

a heightened appreciation for the world outside of the bubble that I live in, in the

Theme Of Chivalry In Sir Gawain And The Green Knight
The poem, Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, is an extravagant poem that portrays
chivalry and gallantry. This poem incorporates many symbols and parallels within
itself. The lord of the castle where Sir Gawain is resting, proposes an offer to
Gawain, which he accepts, three days after he arrives. The Lord s offer to Gawain
was, That whatever I win in the woods be yours, and any achievement you chance on
here, you exchange for it (Lines 1106 1107). These two huntingscenes, the lord
hunting a deer, a boar, and a fox; and the womanwho hunts Sir Gawain, encompass
many similarities between each other, including the lord and his wife being the
aggressors and the animals and Sir Gawain being the prey. As the morning of the first
day of the exchange game came upon, the lord and his hunters banned together to
hunt a deer; a creature with strong intuition. The hunters had to trap the deer first,
then kill the deer with their arrows and knives. Meanwhile, at the castle, Gawain is
roused from a noise he heard behind the curtain surrounding his bed. He sees the lord

Gawain was caught by the hunter, the Green Knight, just as the deer, boar, and fox
were. In correspondence with the fox, Gawain flinched to try to avoid his death by
the Green Knight. The Green Knight eventually announces he was the lord at the
castle and put Gawain through tests with his wife. The Green Knight eventually
states Gawain broke the code of honor trust. Gawain, humiliated, leaves with the
girdle. Gawain throughout the poem embodied similar traits to those of the animals
the lord hunted. Different situations bring about different characteristics for every
person. Gawain illustrated those of the deer, boar, and fox. Given these points, no

American Football Timeline
American Football, the History and Timeline of How the Sport was Developed Into
the Modern Day Sport America Knows and Loves
American Football has been one of the most popular spectator sports, however it
hasn t always been this way. On November 6th, 1869 the first game, that was
intercollege, was played that incorporated the basic rules of the American football
that we all know and love today. Players from Rutgers and Princeton played a game
against each other and only one team was victorious in claiming the victory. It was
Rutgers that had come in first in that game and would then continue to hold good
standings in modern day rankings. Walter Camp, without any plausible doubt, was
and still is one of the most influential figures regarding ... Show more content on

Cherokee Native American Indians and the Trail of Tears
Cherokee Native American Indians and the Trail of Tears
What made the Cherokee culture distinctive towards others in the Trail of Tears time
period was that they had a more peaceful, harmless outlook on the situation. In 1814,
Andrew Jackson who would eventually become the President of the United States,
had his and his whole army s lives on the line in the Battle of Horseshoe Bend to the
British forces when the Cherokee allied with them to win the battle. Surprisingly, 16
years later when Jackson was President of the United States, he made the deciding
decision on the controversy of whether or not the Cherokee deserved their land.
Jackson completed the Indian Removal Act in 1830, sending the Cherokee out of their
own land which they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They were walking mostly through moist valleys and forests which provided some
nutrition and shelter. The weather was overall favorable for the Cherokee during
the Trail of Tears. The rivers were also helpful to the Cherokee as a source of food
and basis for navigation.
Some may wonder why the Cherokee did not fight for their land. Historians
suggest that the Cherokee knew America was a more powerful force. They were
also a peaceful tribe that didn t wish to start a war, so they instead chose to go and
find new land. Based on their belief system they valued peace, not violence. This
made the Cherokee distinctive to other tribes involved in the Trail of Tears, because
they peacefully left while the other tribes planned to fight until they realized they had
a small chance of winning a battle against Jackson and America. The Cherokee knew
that America was acting harsh and cruel towards them, but they didn t believe
strongly in acts of violence. The Cherokee would also communicate with Jackson
occasionally (not often at all) about their progress and health during their voyage.
After their long, treacherous voyage, they reached their new land where they had to
resettle, and had to start all over again.
When the Cherokee resettled, they were a different group with no leaders; everybody
became the same during their voyage to new settlement. The Cherokee then became
more civilized, and began to fade
How Does Social Media Affect The Performance Of The
Music...
In the midst of the United States dot com bubble (years 1997 2000), there was a
surge in technology that brought about file sharing and digital downloads.
Threatening the survival of the music industry and introducing a unique set of
challenges for the industry to overcome. To remain relevant in the new global market
of digital music online, the music industry would have to evolve and change with the
introduction of each new facet technology had to offer. The introduction of digitally
compressed music files, so easily attainable for a small fee or downloaded legally
(pirated) for free, made the music industry reevaluate how to make a profit and
protect copyrights. Social media created a visible opportunity for both consumers and
artists to maintain digital relationships while providing a platform for consumers to
follow and discover new musicians and bands, naturally, making the internet a
promotional medium for artists. As the corner record shops closed to make way for
virtual storefronts and instant downloads; the internet, digital downloading, and
social media made an enormous impact on the music industry that has changed the
way consumers purchase, source, listen to, and produce music today.
The development of affordable technology in conjunction with the introduction of the
internet, shifted the consumer market, by way of downloads and file sharing.
Technological advancements led to the compression of music into the MP3 format,
thus allowing consumers to download
Universal Basic Income Advantages And Disadvantages
Universal Basic Income (UBI) is a fixed amount at a level sufficient for
subsistence, given by the state to all its citizens regardless of income or work
status. Recently, it has sparked a heated debate among many cities around the world
on whether to give their citizens a Universal Basic Income. Though some people
disagree on the idea that a country should give a UBI to its citizens, the policy of
giving a UBI to citizens has many advantages which have been shown by the benefits
of a UBI implement in Finland. A UBI can help to give the following benefits of a
country: a continuous GDP increase, a more harmonious community, and scientific
advancement. First of all, adopting a UBI can increase economic development by
stimulating consumption. A UBI gives money to citizens without concerns about
their status. It ll lead to an increased incomefor the poor so that they will buy more
high quality food, select more expensive clothes, and even have a new car per
person. Those things are impossible before the implementation of UBI. As for
others, they ll have more money to spend on their hobbies and vacations which will
subsequently encourage them consume more. For example, If I receive UBI now, I
will save my extra money given by government for several months and plan to use it
go to Hawaii on a vacation. I ll buy round trip airlinetickets to Hawaii, eat special
food, book a hotel, and buy some souvenirs from Hawaii. The airline company will
make more profit for serving me,
Knowledge in the making of History Essay
Knowledge in the making of History
History can come alive in the eyes of the listener. Behold, for what the history has to
represent to those. George Macaulay Trevelyan (1876 1962) a British Historian
quotes, Every true history must force us to remember that the past was once as real
as the Present and as uncertain as the future.
The quote has a lot of impact, as it states the truth. To remember the past is memories,
the present shall soon be the past and memories too, and the future is something that
will come in time with its own story to write. The quote to me means, that there is
always history being made and going to be made. That no one shall forget the history
that has taken place, that more history is going to be ... Show more content on

History is what keeps the mind sharp and alive, as those retell past experiences. It
is all history, that all have lived, shared, and wrote down. For it is what keeps the
world full of knowledge, and to know the past. History is the doorway to a whole
new world full of accomplishments. Studying history leads one to find out that the
past events are all not the same, that there were hardships after war to fight for,
slavery, other countries trying to take control. When one looks around, thou shall
see there is history everywhere. History is always in the making of the eyes of the
beholder who is living to tell the details. If there was no history, then what would one
know about past cultivations or circumstances? What would there be to pass on?
History is knowing not only about what happens in the textbooks, but also family
history legacy. History has so much more to it, then just the textbooks. History is
knowledge in the making, and it will keep going on, because history is what defines
who, what, where, when, why, and how, that one is.

As an international student from Saudi Arabia, I never imagined that one person could change the world. In essence, Dr. King s speech represented the progressive nature of the United Statesand it motivated me to become a future leader in my home county, Saudi Arabia. King believed that violence is both impractical and immoral. King was an ordained Baptist minister, who embraced the tenets of Christianity and wholeheartedly preached brotherhood, peace, and love for all men including white and blacks, alike. King believed Violence as a way of achieving racial justice is both impractical and immoral. I am not unmindful of the fact that violence often brings about momentary results (King, 1964, pg. 8). Subsequently, King did not believe in violence and preached non violence. King felt that nonviolence was the only means to fight oppression, racism, and injustice. King preached tenets of universal love; moreover, King fought against despair, racial separatism, and hate. King s message is extremely inspiring and speaks to be broad audience, including residents of the Middle East. The equality of races can only be achieved through peaceful arguments and demonstrations. For myself, nonviolence is the only legitimate weapon against fighting social injustice. King s message could be interpreted and applied to any situation or community. For myself, hate and revenge can be only be dominated through the application of nonviolence. The Biological Causes For Serial Killers Introduction: This investigation examines the biological causes for serial killers psychopathic tendencies and examines those same biological factors in both men and women to find the correlation between a higher rate of male serial killers and the biology behind their actions. It is imperitave to first know what a serial killeris, and what makes them such a cold fish. There are sections of the brain that do have control over a human being s personality, where that individual can either develop into an average person or join the other one percent of psychopaths living in the world today (due to physical damage or chemical imbalance in the brain). These specific sections of the brain are different in males then in females, some components of the brain vary in size etc. between sexes. It is crucial to have all these pieces, with this information its then possible to form a conlusion to the surfaced question. To stretch ones knowledge and understanding of serial killers a necasssary source is the Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, second edition by Micheal Newton , which gives detailed insight on the worlds most infamous serial killers and their tactics, not including other informative articles sited later on in the analysis. In addition to that source, another applicable book would be The Emotional Brain by Joseph LeDoux, assisting in learning the physical structures of the brain that control ones emotions and motivations, as well as the male brain versus the females.

Remedial Action: Forgiveness and Promise Hannah Arendt in her book, The Human Condition, delineates the three fundamental human activities that set up the Vita Activa: Labour, Work and Action. • 7. Reaction Paper On Cellular Respiration Cellular respiration is the oxidation of organic compounds that occurs within cells, producing energy for cellular processes (Dictionary.com, 2017) . The process of cellular respiration occurs in three phases. The first process is called Glycolysis and is the breakdown of glucose in the cytoplasm. The next process is the pyruvate molecules transported into the mitochondria (aka powerhouses of the cells), the pyruvate are then converted into 2 carbon molecules and enter the Krebs cycle. Finally the energy enters the electron transport chain and the energy is used to produce ATP (CK 12, 2017). The lungs co operate with cellular respiration as the lungs produce oxygenwhich is vital in helping the process of turning glucose into ATP. The process of the respiratory system begins at the nasal cavity and mouth where air is inhaled. The air then passes through the sinuses located in the skull which regulate the humidity and temperature as someone breathes (Zimmermann, Live Science, 2016). The air is filtered in the trachea (windpipe) and then enters the lungs through a system of pipes called the bronchi. The bronchi are located at the end of the trachea as the left or right bronchi. The bronchi branch throughout the lungs eventually forming thin walled air sacs or bubbles, known as the alveoli ( Respiratory System, 2017). In the alveoli gas exchange takes place between the air and blood. Covering each alveolus is a network of blood vessel called capillaries, which are small

In spite of the tremendous hardships in America during this decade, it also became a time of great music that is still remembered today. Jazz music was highly popular in this time, and Billie Holiday was a famous jazz performer. She stood out from many other musicians because of her intense and passionate performances. Jazz arose from unacceptable segments of society, but quickly grew like wildfire. We often think of the 1930 s as the decade that jazz became civilized, and famous throughout popular culture through the work of pioneering artists like Billie Holiday. People did not own televisions or cable, so radio was their main source of entertainment, and music during this decade was both up beat and a source of relaxation. More important artists like Jeff Buckley, Rene Marie, Labor Camp Orchestra, and many others made their own rendition on the song, still leaving all of their audiences moved by the powerful imagery of the lyrics. These successes have been obtained thanks to the improvements made in aircraft designs and systems, which consequently helped in decreasing pilot error. Although they are considered one of the great successes in the industry and safety of flight has improved significantly, however, seventy to eight percent of aircraft accidents are still caused by pilots error, which therefore makes it one of the most contributory factors to aircrafts accidents. Every airplane accident has profound consequences on many ends and is considered one of the most tragic events that can occur. These bombings, carried out by President Harry S. Truman, had an immense impact on the history of the U.S. and the history of the world. The question is, were these bombing a true necessity, considering how many innocent people they killed as well as the damage they caused to Japan? By bombing these two cities, America created a new type of warfare that could potentially destroy the world: nuclear warfare(OI). The nuclear bomb is a horrible weapon, capable of killing tens of thousands of people with one explosion. In this case, Little Boy took the lives of 80,000 Japanese people, innocent or not, with another 70,000 people being injured (OI). Although devastating events, these bombings specifically were integral to ending the war, as well as being a military necessity. First off, a big part of the question is how far the taking of lives goes. Although Little Boy took tens of thousands of lives, the Japanese also killed a greater amount of U.S. citizens. For example, in the 1940 s the Japanese hosted the Bataan death march, in which they forced 76,000 captured allied soldiers to march about 80 miles to the Bataan peninsula without getting food or water for three days (Doc. B). Those who fell behind were beaten and killed by the Japanese. The march lasted for six days and there was a total death toll between 5,000 and

To be considered community food secure, all individuals in a community should have access to sufficient amounts of safe, nutritious, culturally appropriate food that are produced in an environmentally sustainable way (Desjardins et al, 2002). However, reduced agriculture land due to increased urbanization has decreased the accessibility of food to the public and has led to food insecurity in many communities locally and globally. The rising urbanized general public has a limited understanding of food since food is usually produced some miles away (Iverson et al, 2014). In recent years, the popularity of urban agriculture and community gardens are raising in many cities in North America (Iverson et al, 2014). A majority of civic politicians come to believe that healthier, safer and fresher food could be grown in the middle of city at a suitable cost, which can improve food availability, affordability and accessibility locally (Wong Hallsworth, 2016). Shouldn t a non smoker, who is just as constitutionally protected as the smoker beside him, be allowed the individual right to protect his personal health? The bill, in reality, is a bill proposed to help protect the patrons of businesses that currently allow smoking inside of their establishments. Rep. Francis Brooks stated, My smoke from my cigarette should not be going into your lungs. It is not a case of taking rights away from someone who fought for this country. It was suggested at the hearing that the clubs and bars might actually profit by offering a more welcoming and health conscious environment for customers. This assertion has been found to be true in Boston, Massachusetts. A recent report from Harvard researchers says that the cities bars and restaurants have gained customers and added jobs since a statewide smoking ban took effect. According to this

  • 30. The New Terrain And Distance Viewing Now, I will give some commentary from my experiences playing alpha 15. As I had mentioned, in my previous article, I rather like the new terrain and distance viewing. I am indeed excited about the new possibilities it offers for building things (as I rather like to construct buildings and make my own small towns). I have begun to explore the buildings possibilities, which I will get into later. The dynamic of progression for production has changed. The change in the steel perk, the increased number of things which need the work bench to craft them, the new components, and the new things to craft have changed things. It used to be that I could get the steel perk so easily that I could basically skip iron crafting versions of things, and go straight to steel axes, and steel picks. I cannot do that anymore. Now the requirements for getting steel make it so that I have to use iron tools for a significant period of time before I can get the ability to craft their steel versions. This, in addition to the items requiring mechanical and electrical parts give the game a more staged progression. Now there are more rather distinct stages before getting to the best stuff. This adds a new dimension of fun and challenge to it. Though I would give some tips for trying to get to the steel production level. Invest early on in resource collection and building stuff. The steel perks need a certain level in construction and tool skills in order for you to purchase them. Also, building stuff

There are various factors responsible for this decline, resulting in serious impacts on the environment and the economy. Critically discuss the causes of deforestation and solutions to it. Deforestation is the cutting down of a large area of trees and the destruction of forests by people. Forests are what we call an exhaustible resource, one which can be used up if it is not used carefully. Over the last few decades, deforestationhas threatened the rainforests with total extinction. To understand why deforestation is such an important issue, you first have to understand why trees matter. Trees improve in many ways the life of all species, including the human race. ... In his concept, Adam Smith explains that in a free market no regulation of any type would be needed to ensure that the mutually beneficial exchange of goods and services can take place, since the invisible hand would guide market participants to trade in the most mutually beneficial manner. (www.investorwords.com) Many private agents, according to these studies, have no interest in maintaining the forest s beauty and biodiversity, as services provided by forests are benefits that cannot be priced, so are not profit making. Another factor precipitating deforestation appears to be poverty. Commonly held views argue that high discount rates received by poor countries are a cause of deforestation (The World Bank Forestry Policy 1991, Pearce and Watford 1993.). Because forests imply long gestation; private agents, particularly from the poorest countries, value what they can get immediately from forests more than what they can get in the future. But in 1999, Ekbom and Bojo challenged those views in a World Bank examination by showing that poverty does not necessarily lead to shorter time horizons and an increased rate of environmental degradation. They show how in fact the rural poor have used resources in a conservationist manner over a long period spanning centuries. Ostrom (1990), one of the various analysts they quoted, established a number of conditions that would lead to long term use of common resources despite their short time

At the time of it s composition, Paul was in Corinth on his third missionary journey. Paul explains that his audience is the Christians of Rome (1:7), and that his desire is for them to read what he has to say. Paul had always desired to visit the church of Rome, but had not found an opportunity to do so (1:11). Paul s purpose in writing to the saints of Rome was to proclaim the gospelto both the Greek and Jewish believers. As evidenced in Romans 1:16 17, we can see Paul emphatically and passionately scratching out his letter: I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God s power for salvationto everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. For in it God s righteousness is revealed from faith to faith, just as it is written: The righteous will live by faith . Paul was very intentional and honest to his audience. He wanted his readers from the beginning of his letter to realize that the gospel is for all people. This is important for people to grasp. To what extent are legal positivists and natural law theorists accurate in terms of the idea that an unjust law cannot be a valid law ? In this essay i will attempt to define the concept of the validity of law in relation to both natural law theorists and positivist theorists. For the purpose of this essay I will define validity of a law as Having legal force; effective or binding (The Free Dictionary). The main reason for the continual debate between both theories is that they are both very similar although they may appear to be at contrary ends of each spectrum. Natural law theorists believe that in order for a law to be valid it must have some moral principle therefore if laws which are enacted in statues have no authority, they are not moral. Whereas positivists support and emphasise the importance of a division between morality and law. I will begin by outlining both theories. I will then move onto asses the accuracy of the following statement, An unjust law cannot be a valid law this includes establishing the similarities and differences of both theories; in order to do this effectively it is essential that a thorough understanding of both theories has been developed. Finally I will summarise my findings, An unjust law cannot be a valid law true or false? The first question we need to address in order to be able to assess this
