Polyethylene Glycol Research Paper
The polymer that I choose is polyethylene glycol (PEG). Polyethylene glycol is produced because of
the interaction with ethylene oxide with water, ethylene glycol or ethylene glycol oligomers. Some
cons of using polyethylene glycol are hypersensitivity, unexpected change in pharmacokinetic
behavior, and toxic side products. PEG is also a laxative that can also be used to prepare the bowels
before surgery. PEG is also used to slow the clearing of protein from the blood. This makes medicine
last longer in the body. Polyethylene glycol has also been used to help the healing of the spine inn
dogs and PEG can also help with nerve damage. PEG is most commonly used with the skin because it
has maintains it shape well, it is also pliable so doctors can put it in place before setting it with a green
LED light.
Density is how compact an object is. Density is the mass of the object divided by the volume. The
higher the density the more weight and pressure the object can withstand. One example of this is with
bulletproof glass. Bulletproof glass has a very high density, which make it withstand the impact of the
bullet. Density is important to biomedical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The density of PEG 35000 is 1.2 grams per cm^3 at 20 degrees Celsius. The melting point of PEG
35000 is 60 degrees Celsius. The ultimate tensile strength was 1.6 mega Pascal. The modulus of
elasticity of PEG is 750 pN. This is very high which means that PEG is a very elastic material. These
are the properties of PEG. Now the density of PGA is 1.53 grams per cm^3. Which is higher than PEG
s. The melting point of PGA is anywhere from 225 230 degrees Celsius. This is much higher than PEG
s melting point. The ultimate tensile strength is 55Mpa, which is again much higher than PEG s.
Lastly the modulus of elasticity is 8.40 GPa. Based on the number PGA is a much better polymer

Of all the aspects of MTI, innovation strategy is the most challenging. Firms can be very good at the
various activities involved in MTI, such as R amp; D or operations, but this count for little unless it is
supported by a well grounded innovation strategy that guides firms choices, prioritizations, and
sequences. There is little value in being highly efficient at developing or delivering new products and
services if they are the wrong products and services for the firm and its markets. Well chosen new
products and services deliver value, build the technological base of the firm, develop its capabilities,
improve its processes, and add to its reputation and brands. An innovation strategy helps firms decide,

A firm that identifies innovation as a strategic activity is more likely to attract creative workers in
search of exciting opportunities in the war over talent
A shareholder theory of firm and a stakeholder theory of firm may differ in their respective evaluation
method of firm performance. Both theories however recognize the importance of value creation as the
economic role of firms as institutions. The New Institutional Economics (NIE) emphasizes incentives
alignment, while also viewing stakeholder engagements as methods to expand the boundaries of firms.
The difference in performance evaluation between the two approaches can be reduced if stakeholders,
while formulating incentive alignment, also evaluate the mechanisms of establishing a common
currency value. The concomitant development of stakeholder engagement, incentive alignment, and
value currency creation is argued to be an evolutionary process with the efficiency implications of the
two theories tending to converge.
Business sustainability, which originally was viewed as a question of corporate governance, has now
emerged as a central, multifaceted theme of the twenty first century. It is now the responsibility of
corporate boards and managers to focus on business sustainability by creating enduring value for
shareholders and managing the interests of other stakeholders, including creditors, employers,
suppliers, government, and society at large.

White Devil A True Story Of War, Savagery, And Vengeance
You may perhaps ask who these rangers are?...in short they are created Indians, the only proper troops

Robert Rogers is one of the most influential figures in military history and tactics. The lessons he
passed on are still studied today by the United States Army Rangers, and every Ranger must memorize
his Standing Orders. The tactics he used are now what the modern public and historians consider
American style fighting or Indian warfare. Stephen Brumwell s book White Devil A True Story of

From there we follow her journey from Fort Number 4 to Fort St Frédéric where they were treated

traverse hundreds of miles to the Abenaki village where Susanna Johnson she watched her family split

caused great anger in the colonies and in Britain. The order was given, find who did this and enact

reputation from a suspected criminal to respected scout and Captain in the provincial army. The story

characteristics, and his strategies tatics. This will allow for the reader to better picture Rogers and gain
a greater understanding of the man and his decisions. One of the many decisions he made was to

The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes
The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes
Atmospheric precipitation
Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will
transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants as
atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent
phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and
dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more urgent
to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found fish in a
lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place isolated with
no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants through the
atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport through atmospheric
was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re enter the atmosphere during
evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs volatilize from the lake,
meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience the sedimentation on the lake.
Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause pollution of the lake. This is
problems of the most urban industrial areas. Even if there is likely to remove severely contaminated
sediments in

Is American Football Better Than Rugby
American Football is better than Rugby because in Football there are four chances to get a first down
and run down the field to get a touchdown and makes the game more exciting when the teams try to
get a first down and it makes players able to make amazing plays.
American Football is a game where there are two teams with an offense, who are trying to score a
touchdown by either running the ball, or throwing the ball into the endzone to get a touchdown while
the defense are trying to stop them. The objective of the game is to be the team with the most points.
The Offense has a quarterback who is trying to either throw the ball to the Wide Receiver or anyone
else that is open. There is another option to get yards, which is using a Running ... Show more content

American Football resulted from different changes to a Soccer match in Britain. It came from the
multiple rule changes from Walter Camp (Father of Football) a student from Yale University. Along
with the rule changes came the line of scrimmage and the down distance. Along with a couple other
guys, Camp helped create the forward pass play. The first pro football can be traced back to 1892 with
Allegheny Athletic Association and being renamed to the National Football League in 1920.
Rugby is a sport where the objective is to carry or kick the ball towards the other team s goal. This is
called a try. One team can run forward and only pass the ball backwards and sideways. The play can
keep going on if someone is tackled, either they throw it or they pass the ball to one of their
teammates. The attacking has a total of six tackles before a possession is changed. Ball control is
important because if someone fumbles, when someone drops a ball while it is in play, it automatically

Good Thinking Paper In College
Writing on a high school level, and even a college level, has become more of a race for the best grade,
rather than actually forming a good paper. The midnight masterpiece , as some put it, have become
more and more common, and many people lose the idea of the paper during this process. I know for a
fact I have struggled with this issue of beautifying essays to make them look, for lack of a better term,
professional. Just like Milo B. Beckham states in his article, . It s all icing like the staple and the font
choice layers and layers of icing on a tiny, bland cake. That statement is a very simple way of putting
this issue into words. All students alike should be asking themselves a very important question: What s
the point of having a good looking paper when the content is less than stellar? Over the years my
writing has become more and more proficient and interesting, rather than good looking and clean. I
have learned to put my ideas on to paper and I stopped lying to myself when it comes to thinking I
wrote a good paper. Instead of just telling myself the essay is fine, I actually get other people to read
my work. This helps me see a different prospective on my paper. Harry Frankfort says In the old days

opposite. A good paper is full of research, thought and personal ideas, not commas, long sentences, or

with a topic sentence. Don t put down a long sentence with irrelevant, long and excruciating words.
Always read your paper out loud and check for problems in the flow of the piece. Read over
everything multiple times to decide whether or not you have gotten your point

Types Of Contract Method For Construction Management
2.3 Contracts There are several types of contract method and these methods generally fall under three
categories: Fix price (FP) or lump sum (LS), guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and reimbursable
contracts. These methods can be applied to any contracting for construction management. Lump sum
contact, also called fixed price is when an owner engages an entity to perform a fixed scope of work
for an agreed lump sum payment (Cmaa, 2012). Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) is a contractual
arrangement between an owner and an entity to perform a fixed scope of work for a price that is
guaranteed to not exceed the stated maximum price. GMP typically includes a base cost along with
several allowances and contingencies and may result in final cost lower than stated GMP. These
savings may fall to the owner or may be shared among the owner and the engaged entity (Cmaa,
2012). Reimbursable contracts come in a variety of forms and sometimes it is coupled with a not to
exceed maximum price. Reimbursable contract is an arrangement between an owner and an entity to
perform a fixed or variable scope of work based on agreed calculated method. Reimbursable contract
includes unit price, cost plus fixed fee, cost plus incentive fee, time spent and time and materials
(Cmaa, 2012). Reimbursable Terms (Cmaa, 2012)(Antoniou, Aretoulis, Konstantinidis, Kalfakakou,
2013) Unit price payment is an actual quantity at set unit prices. Cost plus fixed fees payment is based
on actual cost plus a fixed

The Events And Encounters I Experienced On My Practicum
Introduction The purpose of the following report is to discuss the events and encounters I experienced
on my practicum. I completed my practicum with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, based out of
Lethbridge, AB. I completed five, eight hour shifts, totaling to 40 hours. I had the opportunity to ride
along with two different peace officers. This allowed me to see two different perspectives and ways of
thinking with regards to the commercial vehicle job. I completed by practicum on the following dates
and times: January 22, (2016) 1400 2200. January 23, 24 (2016) 1000 1800, and February 6, 7 (2016)
0700 1500. For the duration of my practicum we patrolled many different areas and counties. We were
not restricted to a small district and had freedom to move about the Lethbridge district as we saw
necessary.
Communication
I observed many different styles of verbal and non verbal communication throughout my practicum.
On one of the very first traffic stops myself and John Remus, the officer I rode along with, made was
due to a license plate not being visible. I noticed some key aspects of non verbal communication.
Upon approaching the window of a large semi truck we were met with a young man who was clearly
nervous and unaware of the reason for the stop. John stepped up onto the running board of the semi
and introduced himself and his occupation. John then notified the young man of the reason for the stop
and asked for the license and registration for the truck. John s

How Did The Erie Canal Change America

Everyone is a genius, but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree then it will live its whole live
believing that it is stupid. (Albert Einstein) Beginning in 1817 and opened in its entirety in 1825, the
Erie Canal is considered the engineering marvel of the 19th century. When the government concluded
that the project was too ambitious to undertake, the State of New York took on the task of carving 363
miles of canal through the wilderness with nothing but the muscle power of men and horses. The
question that I will attempt to answer in this essay is How did the Erie Canal change America? The
creation of the Erie Canal would lead to a Jurassic change on America in the way we trade, and will

The first piece of evidence that shows any sign of women getting their rights is when the Underground
Railroad stations ran right along the pathway of the Erie Canal and triggered women forcing
themselves into communities and realizing how disrespected they were being treated. However, since
women did not have very many right they could not make a difference about it. According to
Catherine A. Brekus article Female Preaching in Early Nineteenth Century America women began
working against the grain and started to rebel against them not being able to do any of the things men
can and started with preaching in churches secretly. Eventually, women did not need to keep it a secret
because some churches actually began allowing women to preach instead of men. In the article, from
the National Park Service, it is stated that along the stations of the Underground Railroad a conference
was made to discuss Women s Rights. During this convention, of sorts, 300 people responded to
discuss Women s Rights. This convention will lead to the Women s Rights movement after the Civil
War, and World War II.
Given these points, it is safe to say that the Erie Canal effect America by its way of trading, leading to
the abolishment of Slavery, and lead to the Women s Rights movement. So it is important to reflect on
fantastic achievements like this because when history repeats itself, which it always

Megan s Law Essay
Megan s Law

Abstract
Megan Kanka was raped and murdered by her neighbor in 1994. The Kanka s were not aware that
they had been living across from a sex offender. In order to make the public more aware, the Kanka s
started a movement to make Megan s Law . Megan s Law requires for sex offenders to register online
so that the public is aware of their location. The rules for Megan s Law varies among states, some are
more lenient while others are strict. Megan s Law came with several problems. There was an increase
in the public s anxiety over sex crimes which led to harassment and threats and sometimes even

Examples Of Academic Integrity
Academic integrity is very important in terms of an individual completing his or her work. In other
words, the individual should be completely honest and do their best to complete their work without
plagiarism or finding an easy way to get the job done. It is considered unethical to do something that
prevents an individual from being honest about their work. For example, John is worried about getting
a D in his Spanish class if he does not do well on his midterm. His GPA will also be affected if he gets
a D. On the day of his midterm, Jane, a student in John s Spanish class, sits by him. She notices that he
is looking at papers in his backpack secretively and assumes he is cheating. However, Jane does not
know what to do due to the fact that John helped her on a project the previous semester. If Jane were

Durham Cathedral Essay
Durham Cathedral Durham Cathedral is one of the oldest examples of Romanesque architecture
present in England today. Although the cathedral was completed in the early 12th century there are
signs of Gothic architecture present due to the close relation of Romanesque and Gothic styles. In
Robert Scott s book The Gothic Enterprise he discusses how the early Gothic style pulled heavily
from the Romanesque style of architecture and built upon it s basic themes. Durham Cathedral s
extensive history shows how the church s style of architecture remains mainly Romanesque, but has
impressions of other styles due to renovations in different eras. Durham Cathedral has been described

The Cloister, on the south side of the Cathedral, was begun at the same time as the
Cathedral but contains much work from the 15th century or later. The College, the name given in
Durham to the Cathedral Close, is a quiet area on the south side of the Cathedral.
It is the home of the Cathedral clergy and others associated with its life, and of the
Chorister School, a co educational school where the Cathedral choir boys are educated.
Many of the buildings surrounding the Green originated in the Middle Ages, and entry is gained via
the medieval gate house which is still locked every night.
The Reformation was a watershed in the Cathedral s history as it brought the dissolution of the Priory
and its monastic community. The monastery was surrendered to the Crown in December 1540, thus
ending hundreds of years of monastic life at the
Cathedral. In January 1541 the Cathedral was refounded, the last Prior became the first
Dean, and twelve former monks became the first Canons. Much valuable information about life in the
Cathedral in the period immediately prior to the dissolution can be found in a 1591 work, ‘The Rites
of Durham which it is presumed was written by a former member of the monastic community and is
available in the Cathedral. Despite the continuity of some of the personnel, this period must have been

Claudius Ptolemaeus Research Paper
Claudius Ptolemaeus is a Greco Roman who is also known as Ptolemy is a mathematician,
geographer, poet, and an astronomer. He was born in Alexander, Egypt and is of Greek descent. His
name is a mixture of Greek, Egyptian, and Latin. Ptolemy was born in 100 AD in Alexander, Egypt.
Alexander was a Roman province in Egypt, allowing Ptolemy to be a Roman citizen. Nothing
concrete is known about him but bits and pieces have been concluded from his writings. He wrote
books such as Almagest. Almagest is an astrological book that governed astronomy for over
millennium years. The meaning of Almagest into the English language has evolved over different time

Ptolemaeus gave credit to those who came before him and laid the foundation for his work. People
and geniuses such as Aristole, Hipparchus, Menelaus of Alexandria, and Theon of Smyrna, were some
of his inspirations. Ptolemy s table of the lengths of chords in a circle is the earliest surviving table of
a trigonometric function. He also applied fundamental theorems in spherical trigonometry (apparently
discovered half a century earlier by Menelaus of Alexandria) to the solution of many basic
astronomical problems (Jones 2017). Ptolemy justified the former lie that everything revolved around
the earth. He used Aristotle s earth centered theory to defend this. In particular he introduces
trigonometrical methods based on the chord function Crd (which is related to the sine function by sin a
= (Crd 2a)/120). Ptolemy devised new geometrical proofs and theorems. He obtained, using chords of
a circle and an inscribed 360 gon, the

Theme Of Patriarchy In The Epic Of Gilgamesh
For centuries, books, television shows, even beloved childhood movies have subtly reinforced the
social construct of patriarchy. Classic movies such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty follow the
typical story line of a damsel in distress, followed by a heroic man coming to her rescue. This
conception of a male focused storyline is nothing new and is an aspect that constitutes patriarchy,
which has existed since the advent of agriculture and has persisted throughout the centuries. In fact,
patriarchy was a major theme that was reinforced in the first story ever recovered; The Epic of
Gilgamesh was written as early as 2000 BC in Mesopotamia and is loosely based on the Sumerian
king, Gilgamesh. The story tells of Gilgamesh s adventures with his friend Enkidu as they conquer
everything from other men to the Bull of Heaven. Throughout the story, patriarchy is heavily
reinforced. Although the driving force behind patriarchy is personal attainment of security and status,
a number of objectively undesirable events result such as the subjugation of women and societies that
value control and dominance. The narrator reinforces different aspects of patriarchy in The Epic of
Gilgamesh by portraying men in a good light and women in a bad one, focusing society around males,
withholding agency from female females, normalizing violence, and creating the need for unequal
relationships between men and women.
The narrator of this epic consistently reinforced the stereotypical gender roles and

The Importance of Funding Music and Art Programs for Young...
Much too often in America today, modern music and art programs in schools are perceived to many as
extracurricular activities rather than important subjects that are vital to a students learning and skill
development. The truth of the matter is that encouraging music and art education in public schools has
a much larger impact on student s grades, academic performance, and the economy than the majority
people realize. Within the next year city school budgets will be dropping by twenty five percent, and
despite the fact that music and art programs have been showing a dramatic contribution to student s
learning, this substantial drop in funding for the programs will lead to no dedicated money for art or

Students who study art are 4 times more likely to be recognized for academic achievement and 3 times
more likely to be awarded for school attendance ( 11 Facts about Arts in Education ). Music and art
are clearly not two subjects that schools today can afford to cut off funding for based on this evidence.
Music and art programs are responsible for increasing school attendance, which can lead to being one
of the most important things in a student s academic success in school. Students have to attend school
and be present in order to attain the information from their classes and teachers if they wish to
succeed. Better attendance means more students are in class, which means more students are getting
the information they need to excel from their teachers, which ultimately means better grades and test
scores for schools. As of today, arts are defined as core subjects in only twenty six states in America
(Mandel). If only twenty six states are treating art education as a core subject, that means that twenty
four states are currently neglecting art programs and not considering them important to their student s
education. If more states are educated on the importance of art programs for young students, and the
arts are defined as core subjects nationally, then there will be a

The Role Of PTSD In Vietnam Veterans
This is very difficult for people to get jobs and have a social life. PTSD can make somebody hard to
be with. Living with someone who is easily startled, has nightmares, and often avoids social situations
can take a toll on the most resilient family. Research shows that Vietnam Veterans have more marital
problems and family violence. Their children have more behavior problems than do those of Veterans
without PTSD. Veterans with the most severe symptoms had families with the worst communication.
This is because people who have PTSD have a hard time feeling emotions or expressing them. They
may feel detached from others. This can cause problems in personal relationships with the spouse. The
numbing and avoidance that occurs with PTSD is linked

I. Summary
Interior design provides answers that are both functional and attractive and enhance the quality of life.
Interior design reflects and interacts with the cultural background and traditional heritage of the
occupants.
The design process itself runs through a systematic and interactive methodology to create an
innovative and functional design solution whereby the needs and resources of the occupants are
satisfied.
To achieve a well designed environment many elements contribute together thus innovating the
overall theme like color, light, texture, etc. Interior design provides solutions for residential,
commercial, educational, healthcare, office and hospitality projects consequently affecting our daily
way of living.

Noise
Noise is also a significant factor and indeed is a type of pollution which can negatively effect how we
feel. The constant drone of a computer or other machinery, electrical buzzing from refrigerators or
lights, traffic noise in the street outside, workmen nearby and so on, can increase the amount of stress
that the occupants feel and would do little to evoke feelings of wellbeing in any room.
Colour
A great deal of research has been conducted into the effect of colour, too much to go into here. On a
very basic level, red is intense and attracts attention; it is also associated with passion. Blue is more
relaxing and can evoke feelings of trust and reliability so is often used in business settings. Green is
linked with nature and is easy on the eye as opposed to yellow which can strain the eye but at the same
time can increase concentration. Paler colours are more likely to enhance the perception of space in a
room. The secret is to go for the colour that is perfectly in tune with how it makes you feel in any
particular room, you are the final judge.
Smell
Pleasant aromas can enhance the perceived beauty of a room and at the same time unpleasant smells
can spoil an otherwise perfect space. This is something that estate agents well know when it comes to
selling a property. The smell of fresh coffee and newly baked bread can make a home feel more
inviting whereas strong and pungent food odours do the opposite.

The Dark Story of Babi Yar
Babi Yar
Babi Yar is a small place with a big story, but it has more to it than what meets the eye. In fall 1941
Germany took control of the city of Kiev, where Babi Yar is located. Hitler had ordered his Nazis to
purify Russia of all Jews. The first day they that they took control of the city they began to
exterminate it of all Jews that were living there. Everyone in the city of Kiev, including Jews and Non
Jews lived in fear. The massacre of the Jews that lived in Kiev began on September 29, 1941. On the
outside it is a small ravine outside the city of Kiev, but if you dig deeper you will discover that this
forgotten place is the site of the biggest and saddest event in the history of World War II. (World Book
Encyclopedia 3). According to Shelia Stewart, Hitler s original plan was to capture all the Jews and
send them to Madagascar. The plan was soon dropped because Germany couldn t defeat the British
Navy. Hitler then created a new plan. The Nazis would force some of the Jews who were able to do
manual labor, such as young men, to work. The Jews that couldn t work, for example older people,
would be killed. After the Jews that were able to do work can t work anymore, they would also be
killed. (28 29). When Hitler s troops invaded Kiev they posted notices in the city that stated, Kikes of
the city of Kiev and vicinity! On Monday, September 29, you are to appear at 7:00 AM with your
possessions, money, documents, valuables, and warm clothing at Dorogozhitshaya

Comparing Catholicism And Lutheranism
Lutheranism vs catholicism Both of these religions try to answer the question how can the christian
community and is members make moral decision and moral judgements which are both responsive
and responsible however roman catholic and protestant theologians are learning from each other, in
1999 with the signing of the joint declaration on the doctrine of justification. Yet it seems both
theologies have diverse understandings about how and why one lives one s life as a Christian and
about what the church ought to say regarding moral issues. Many lutherans view on roman catholics is
that they are too dependent upon precise rules binding their behavior in areas such as divorce,
contraception, abortion, or in vitro fertilization. To lutherans

Light And Dark Imagery In Charles Dickens Great Expectations
Most people if they see a person dressed in all black walking towards them on a dark road, would
make the assumption that that person would not be one of the friendliest. In the case of characters
from Charles Dickens Great Expectations, that seems to apply. In the novel, the author uses light and
dark imagery as a main characterization device to portray the good and bad in his characters.
Throughout the first section of the novel, Dickens introduces his use of light and dark imagery is used
to portray the good and bad in his characters. To begin, Dickens introduces Joe Gargery as a loving
and compassionate character who was a fair man with curls of flaxen hair... and with eyes of such a
very undecided blue (6). Right from the start, Dickens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Pip is out trying to find a boat, he was cautious because [he] thought with dread that [a rash
man] was flowing towards Magwitch, and that any black mark on its surface might be his pursuers
[will]...surely to take him (403). Dickens uses the term black to express how in a moment, their plans
of escaping could be ruined by a negative natured person. The author continues to develop this idea
when Miss Havisham s dress catches on fire, and she gets burned very badly; when Pip went to check
up on her after the accident, he noticed that she still had something of her old ghastly bridal
appearance, for they had covered her to the throat with white cotton wool, and she lay with a white
sheet loosely overlying that (427). In fact, Dickens might have used this description to display how
one can overcome the once evil characteristics and change into a light, positive character. Equally
important, at the time when Magwitch and Compeyson have a brawl in the water, presently a dark
object was seen in it, bearing towards us on the tide (473). From a distance Magwitch does not seem
like the sweetest person, but as Pip get a closer look at him, his true colors start to show (473). Later
on, during Magwitch s final days, [Pip] noticed that more and more that [Magwitch] would lie

Use of Imagery in the First Two Acts of Macbeth
The Scottish Play , or more known as Macbeth is a play set in medieval Scotland. It describes the life
of Macbeth a brave lord predicted by the witches to become the King of Scotland. Lady Macbeth, his
wife powered by ambition influences Macbeth into committing a horrendous regicide. Imagery is used
widely throughout the course of the play, creating a three dimensional image of the actions, almost as
if we were present. Shakespeare in Macbeth uses imagery to create a more detailed image and
emphasize the themes of violence, murder and darkness. The omnipresent imagery of darkness evokes
the sentiments of fear, danger and death. Come thick night, and pall thee in the dunnest smoke in hell

The Nuclear Bomb Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki
Who is good and who is Evil? Many of us go through life thinking that whatever we do must be what
is good, never questioning authority and blindly following a government that is thought to be
incapable of doing evil. After World War II, many Americans felt a sense of nationalism. They were
proud of the fact that their military destroyed Nazi Germany and Imperialist Japan. However this
euphoric patriotism can often blind the holder. In August of 1945, the United States Military dropped
two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. There were noble reasons for dropping the bombs,
but surely destroying two entire cities questions the integrity of the United States. So again I ask, who
is good and who is evil? After the events of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United States was eager to
learn more about the impacts of nuclear devices on the environment. The United States set up several
nuclear bomb tests on the Marshall Islands in which they properly planned for. However one test, code
named Operation Castle, went horribly wrong. Scientists involved in the test claim they expected an
explosive yield of four to six megatons, but instead a yield of fifteen resulted. For reference, this is
one thousand times greater than the yields of both the Hiroshima and the Nagasaki nuclear bombs
(Huard). Many people believe this was merely a lapse in judgement, however I believe there is
evidence that the United States government intentionally created a disaster in order to study the effects

Heracles And The Nemean Lion Essay
Created just a century or so later than the Pseudo Apollodorus accounts in the Bibliotheca 2, this
mosaic titled Heracles the Nemean Lion was created in the third century C.E. Located in the National
Archeological Museum of Spain, neither the catalog number for the museum or the Beazley Archive
number are given. More than 700 years had passed since the creation of figures 1 4, and the story is
still the same. Although in this mosaic, Heracles is standing up and strangling the lion, not on the
ground. Heracles is also still naked, not having obtained his armor, which would come from that very
lion. This is a mosaic found in a roman context. Meaning that the transition from prominently Greek
society to one shared, and later taken over, with Rome kept the legend of Heracles very close to what
it had become, even when crossing cultural lines.
Present day of the legend of Heracles, using the roman version Hercules, still has not changed. With
the twelve athlois still being present, the first being the Nemean lion, the legend has stayed true. In the
2014 remake of Hercules starring Dwayne Johnson, it describes the first athloi, the Nemean lion. The

The Role Of Women In The Bride Price By Buchi Emecheta
The Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta follows the story of Aku nna, a young girl from the Ibo people of
Nigeria, who reaches the marrying age after her father s death. While anticipated to bring in a large
sum of money from marriage, she refuses to date any of the suitors presented to her, instead choosing
her lover, a descendant of slaves, and bringing dishonor upon her family. A suitor then kidnaps her, but
she manages to escape him and elope with her lover; she eventually dies in childbirth with their
conceived daughter. In the novel, Nigerian culture, specifically of the Ibo people, establishes a
patriarchal society. Because of this, women are treated as inferior, as evident by expectations and
marriage/dating customs that infringe upon their freedom and dignity. The role of women in Ibo
society is demonstrated in The Bride Price by the expectations to be obedient under the ownership of
older males, to fulfil motherhood as early and fruitfully as possible, to abide by menstrual hygiene
rules, to be pure through chastity, and to follow such standards or else bring shame upon their family.
In the patriarchal society of the Ibo, a woman must submit to an older man s demands specifically of a
husband or family member; she is rarely in full control of herself. Emecheta writes that a girl belonged
to you today as your daughter, and tomorrow, before your very eyes, would go to another man in
marriage to suggest the presence of a dominant male figure in all walks of life (17).

Mexican Is Not A Noun, By Alarcon
Francisco X. Alarcon received inspiration for his writing from his background as a Mexican American
and the era of the sixties where the Black Arts Movement was at its height and Latin American poets
were growing and learning from different poetic styles (Kirszner, Mandell, 2012). Furthermore, the
inspiration for the poem Mexican Is Not a Noun was based on protest by cannery workers and
students from UC Santa Cruz where fifty three of them were arrested on October 27, 1985. The key
component of Mexican Is Not a Noun or the concrete word is Mexican which is a general word
because it refers to an entire class or group. From the five lines of the sonnet Alarcon is making it
clear that Mexicans are not referred to as nouns or adjective in

The Pacific plate is moving in a north west direction at a rate of seven to eleven centimeters a year

centimeters per year. To support the aforementioned description, if an observer placed him or herself

The Battle of Stalingrad is known as the turning point of World War II as it is notorious for being the
first crucial loss for the Third Reich. Certainly, Hitler created this two pronged attack to close the front

launched the astonished Germans into hand to hand combat. And although the Germans had been

Total Cost Is Variable Cost And Fixed Cost
a. Total Cost :Total cost is variable cost and fixed cost combined. Variable cost is that cost which is
unsettled in nature and is straight correlated with the units of manufacture. If the company produce
more the variable cost will go high and if they produce less than the variable cost will be respectively
low. Fixed cost is always fixed in nature. Always it is fixed for a year or two and it will change at the
longer run. In the short run, fixed cost is constant in nature and it is not related to the number of units
of production. (Samuel. L 2000). TC = FC + VC Short run influence on total cost  Help the company

Average cost is different from the price, and depends on the contact with demand through elasticity of
demand and elasticity of supply. In cases of perfect competition, price may be lesser than average cost

economies of that scale of production change into diseconomies and the average cost then begins to

Carotid Dissection Case Study Examples
Carotid artery dissection remains to be the least recognized entity among the variety of cardiovascular
syndromes (Stapf, Elkind, Mohr, 2000). Dissection of the carotid artery is caused by a tearing of the
arterial wall layers, usually the intima from the media. The tear flaps freely in the arterial lumen
creating a false lumen, where blood can enter and may form a thrombus (Kupinski, 2013). The
weakening of the arterial wall caused by the separation of the layers may also result in a
pseudoaneurysm (Schievink, 2001). Although carotid dissection account for less than 2% of all
ischemic strokes, they are the leading cause of ischemic strokes affecting all age groups, including
children, especially with patients in their fifth decade of life (Schievink, 2001). Most patients may
present with minor stroke symptoms with localized pain in the neck or face and some patients may be
asymptomatic. The diagnostic goal is to identify these patients prior to an ischemic event. Duplex
ultrasound has proven to be a reliable and safe imaging modality that provides accurate diagnostic
data for early carotid artery obstructive disease and follow up for dissections. Case Study A 63 year

Last semester I synthesized a powder, that based on IR, I believe to be the HKUST 1 MOF. I removed
much of the DMSO and have identified key peaks. Despite having cleaned the MOF several times

In order to try to further validate the MOF synthetic method, I attempted a kinetics experiment that

easily dissolved so it takes mild heating and about 30 minutes of stirring. I raised the temperature up
to 100°C and allowed to remain as constant as possible while the solvent evaporated. The entire time
it was impossible to see any precipitate because the solution was green. The only way I was able to

The Importance Of Instant Gratification
Instant gratification plaguing the U.S workplace?
Since the late 20th century the temptation to fulfill Instant gratification has become more prevalent in
society which has put America in a precarious predicament. In Robert Paul s novel The Impulse
Society: America in the Age of Instant Gratification he claims America has found itself in an era
where we desire extensive indulgence which has made us culturally narcissistic , blinding us from the
value of investment and inducing a high risk lifestyle. This currently has managed to raise concerns
regarding the problems that serve as a detriment to the labor force. with instant gratification even
shaping a newer generation of workers, Millennials who were born in an age where they are used to
technology and social media giving them immediate feedback and results in almost every aspect of
their life. with one notable problem being that decisions influenced by instant gratification seem to be
leading to higher rates of unemployment seen with machines threatening to replace laborers (Derek
Thompson). Former president Nixon goes into claim how work ethic is what allows us to be a
industrial nation and is what allowed us to change from a poor nation to a powerful one over the
course of two centuries (Address to the Nation on Labor Day,1). with this claim, it is pivotal to see the
that contemporary times have encouraged instant gratification which has spread egocentrism in the
workforce. This has resulted in the

Chinese Businesses Should Adopt Total Quality Management...
Chinese Businesses Should Adopt Total Quality Management (TQM) If they are to succeed
internationally Nowadays a large number of Chinese companies are willing to develop their business
scope in international markets. Their main competitive superiority exclusively depends on the low
price strategy based on cheap labors. However, this merely advantage couldn t go down well in the
overseas markets. Global competition has forced Chinese manufacturing firms to operate on the basis
of not only cost advantage. The high quality which they need to rely on would improve their global
competitiveness through customer satisfaction. To meet this challenge, many Chinese firms are

Chinese corporations would diverse and increase the spectrum of their commodities because their
customers are in different countries and have their special taste and requirements with complicated
background. In addition, thanks to keen competition in global market, any hesitation may lead
business opportunities missed. TQM will apply companies to be more flexible and prompt responses
to the market. Many Chinese multinational corporations have adopted systematically managing
customer relationship which is a crucial and primary process in TQM. This process helps company to
measure customer satisfaction and act on the results. The success of Lenovo group Corporation is a
good prototype in this field. At the beginning of this century, this Chinese leading electronic company
was in a critical stage of its development. Their overseas sales volumes which were affected by the
world wide economic downturn declined largely. But this company hasn t adopted the measure of
cutting down the price to keep the regular customer and attract more new customers. It accomplished
establishing more than 100 customer service centers all over the world. (quote lenovo.com,2004) As
well as being responsible for repair, their centers try to get an appointment and contracting for service.

Celiac Disease Essay
The Pathophysiology of Celiac Disease Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disorder involving both
innate and adaptive immune responses that occurs among genetically predisposed subjects who are
exposed to gluten containing foods (Green et al. 2015). People of all ages, genders, and races can
develop CD (Fasano and Catassi 2012). Individuals with CD may have gastrointestinal symptoms or
sometimes no signs of symptoms. The disease is characterized by severe immune mediated damage to
the small intestine, typically involving chronic diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and malnutrition
(Gayathri and Rashmi 2014). Celiac disease like phenotypes can be traced back to the Greek physician
Aretaeus in the first and second century AD (Kupfer and Jabri 2012). Since then, improved
development of diagnostic testing provides more accurate data regarding the prevalence of CD,
although many people remain undiagnosed. Epidemiologic studies in the United States and European
countries consistently report a prevalence of 0.5% to 1.0% (Evans and Sanders 2012). CD is also
prevalent in developing countries, like North Africa and the Middle East (Fasano and Catassi 2012). A
significant public health concern remains, as it is estimated that 83% of Americans who have celiac
disease are undiagnosed or misdiagnosed with other conditions (Beyond 2016). The causal factors of
CD must be understood to determine the best diagnostic testing and treatment. The cause of CD is
thought to be due to genetic,

  • 2. Polyethylene Glycol Research Paper The polymer that I choose is polyethylene glycol (PEG). Polyethylene glycol is produced because of the interaction with ethylene oxide with water, ethylene glycol or ethylene glycol oligomers. Some cons of using polyethylene glycol are hypersensitivity, unexpected change in pharmacokinetic behavior, and toxic side products. PEG is also a laxative that can also be used to prepare the bowels before surgery. PEG is also used to slow the clearing of protein from the blood. This makes medicine last longer in the body. Polyethylene glycol has also been used to help the healing of the spine inn dogs and PEG can also help with nerve damage. PEG is most commonly used with the skin because it has maintains it shape well, it is also pliable so doctors can put it in place before setting it with a green LED light. Density is how compact an object is. Density is the mass of the object divided by the volume. The higher the density the more weight and pressure the object can withstand. Firms can be very good at the various activities involved in MTI, such as R amp; D or operations, but this count for little unless it is supported by a well grounded innovation strategy that guides firms choices, prioritizations, and sequences. There is little value in being highly efficient at developing or delivering new products and services if they are the wrong products and services for the firm and its markets. Well chosen new products and services deliver value, build the technological base of the firm, develop its capabilities, improve its processes, and add to its reputation and brands. A firm that identifies innovation as a strategic activity is more likely to attract creative workers in search of exciting opportunities in the war over talent A shareholder theory of firm and a stakeholder theory of firm may differ in their respective evaluation method of firm performance. Both theories however recognize the importance of value creation as the economic role of firms as institutions. The New Institutional Economics (NIE) emphasizes incentives alignment, while also viewing stakeholder engagements as methods to expand the boundaries of firms. The difference in performance evaluation between the two approaches can be reduced if stakeholders, while formulating incentive alignment, also evaluate the mechanisms of establishing a common currency value. The concomitant development of stakeholder engagement, incentive alignment, and value currency creation is argued to be an evolutionary process with the efficiency implications of the two theories tending to converge. Business sustainability, which originally was viewed as a question of corporate governance, has now emerged as a central, multifaceted theme of the twenty first century. It is now the responsibility of corporate boards and managers to focus on business sustainability by creating enduring value for shareholders and managing the interests of other stakeholders, including creditors, employers, suppliers, government, and society at large. ... The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes Atmospheric precipitation Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants as atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more urgent to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found fish in a lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place isolated with no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants through the atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport through atmospheric was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re enter the atmosphere during evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs volatilize from the lake, meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience the sedimentation on the lake. Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause pollution of the lake. This is problems of the most urban industrial areas. • 7. Good Thinking Paper In College Writing on a high school level, and even a college level, has become more of a race for the best grade, rather than actually forming a good paper. The midnight masterpiece , as some put it, have become more and more common, and many people lose the idea of the paper during this process. I know for a fact I have struggled with this issue of beautifying essays to make them look, for lack of a better term, professional. Just like Milo B. Beckham states in his article, . It s all icing like the staple and the font choice layers and layers of icing on a tiny, bland cake. That statement is a very simple way of putting this issue into words. All students alike should be asking themselves a very important question: What s the point of having a good looking paper when the content is less than stellar? Over the years my writing has become more and more proficient and interesting, rather than good looking and clean. • 8. Types Of Contract Method For Construction Management 2.3 Contracts There are several types of contract method and these methods generally fall under three categories: Fix price (FP) or lump sum (LS), guaranteed maximum price (GMP) and reimbursable contracts. These methods can be applied to any contracting for construction management. Lump sum contact, also called fixed price is when an owner engages an entity to perform a fixed scope of work for an agreed lump sum payment (Cmaa, 2012). Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) is a contractual arrangement between an owner and an entity to perform a fixed scope of work for a price that is guaranteed to not exceed the stated maximum price. GMP typically includes a base cost along with several allowances and contingencies and may result in final cost lower than stated GMP. These savings may fall to the owner or may be shared among the owner and the engaged entity (Cmaa, 2012). Reimbursable contracts come in a variety of forms and sometimes it is coupled with a not to exceed maximum price. Reimbursable contract is an arrangement between an owner and an entity to perform a fixed or variable scope of work based on agreed calculated method. Reimbursable contract includes unit price, cost plus fixed fee, cost plus incentive fee, time spent and time and materials (Cmaa, 2012). Reimbursable Terms (Cmaa, 2012)(Antoniou, Aretoulis, Konstantinidis, Kalfakakou, 2013) Unit price payment is an actual quantity at set unit prices. I completed my practicum with Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, based out of Lethbridge, AB. I completed five, eight hour shifts, totaling to 40 hours. I had the opportunity to ride along with two different peace officers. This allowed me to see two different perspectives and ways of thinking with regards to the commercial vehicle job. I completed by practicum on the following dates and times: January 22, (2016) 1400 2200. January 23, 24 (2016) 1000 1800, and February 6, 7 (2016) 0700 1500. For the duration of my practicum we patrolled many different areas and counties. We were not restricted to a small district and had freedom to move about the Lethbridge district as we saw necessary. Communication I observed many different styles of verbal and non verbal communication throughout my practicum. On one of the very first traffic stops myself and John Remus, the officer I rode along with, made was due to a license plate not being visible. I noticed some key aspects of non verbal communication. Upon approaching the window of a large semi truck we were met with a young man who was clearly nervous and unaware of the reason for the stop. John stepped up onto the running board of the semi and introduced himself and his occupation. John then notified the young man of the reason for the stop and asked for the license and registration for the truck. John s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eventually, women did not need to keep it a secret because some churches actually began allowing women to preach instead of men. In the article, from the National Park Service, it is stated that along the stations of the Underground Railroad a conference was made to discuss Women s Rights. During this convention, of sorts, 300 people responded to discuss Women s Rights. This convention will lead to the Women s Rights movement after the Civil War, and World War II. • 17. Theme Of Patriarchy In The Epic Of Gilgamesh For centuries, books, television shows, even beloved childhood movies have subtly reinforced the social construct of patriarchy. Classic movies such as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty follow the typical story line of a damsel in distress, followed by a heroic man coming to her rescue. This conception of a male focused storyline is nothing new and is an aspect that constitutes patriarchy, which has existed since the advent of agriculture and has persisted throughout the centuries. In fact, patriarchy was a major theme that was reinforced in the first story ever recovered; The Epic of Gilgamesh was written as early as 2000 BC in Mesopotamia and is loosely based on the Sumerian king, Gilgamesh. The story tells of Gilgamesh s adventures with his friend Enkidu as they conquer everything from other men to the Bull of Heaven. Throughout the story, patriarchy is heavily reinforced. Although the driving force behind patriarchy is personal attainment of security and status, a number of objectively undesirable events result such as the subjugation of women and societies that value control and dominance. The narrator reinforces different aspects of patriarchy in The Epic of Gilgamesh by portraying men in a good light and women in a bad one, focusing society around males, withholding agency from female females, normalizing violence, and creating the need for unequal relationships between men and women. The United States set up several nuclear bomb tests on the Marshall Islands in which they properly planned for. However one test, code named Operation Castle, went horribly wrong. Scientists involved in the test claim they expected an explosive yield of four to six megatons, but instead a yield of fifteen resulted. For reference, this is one thousand times greater than the yields of both the Hiroshima and the Nagasaki nuclear bombs (Huard). Many people believe this was merely a lapse in judgement, however I believe there is evidence that the United States government intentionally created a disaster in order to study the effects of ... More than 700 years had passed since the creation of figures 1 4, and the story is still the same. Although in this mosaic, Heracles is standing up and strangling the lion, not on the ground. • 32. The Role Of Women In The Bride Price By Buchi Emecheta The Bride Price by Buchi Emecheta follows the story of Aku nna, a young girl from the Ibo people of Nigeria, who reaches the marrying age after her father s death. While anticipated to bring in a large sum of money from marriage, she refuses to date any of the suitors presented to her, instead choosing her lover, a descendant of slaves, and bringing dishonor upon her family. A suitor then kidnaps her, but she manages to escape him and elope with her lover; she eventually dies in childbirth with their conceived daughter. In the novel, Nigerian culture, specifically of the Ibo people, establishes a patriarchal society. Because of this, women are treated as inferior, as evident by expectations and marriage/dating customs that infringe upon their freedom and dignity. The role of women in Ibo society is demonstrated in The Bride Price by the expectations to be obedient under the ownership of older males, to fulfil motherhood as early and fruitfully as possible, to abide by menstrual hygiene rules, to be pure through chastity, and to follow such standards or else bring shame upon their family. In the patriarchal society of the Ibo, a woman must submit to an older man s demands specifically of a husband or family member; she is rarely in full control of herself. Emecheta writes that a girl belonged to you today as your daughter, and tomorrow, before your very eyes, would go to another man in marriage to suggest the presence of a dominant male figure in all walks of life (17). ... • 40. Carotid Dissection Case Study Examples Carotid artery dissection remains to be the least recognized entity among the variety of cardiovascular syndromes (Stapf, Elkind, Mohr, 2000). Dissection of the carotid artery is caused by a tearing of the arterial wall layers, usually the intima from the media. The tear flaps freely in the arterial lumen creating a false lumen, where blood can enter and may form a thrombus (Kupinski, 2013). The weakening of the arterial wall caused by the separation of the layers may also result in a pseudoaneurysm (Schievink, 2001). Although carotid dissection account for less than 2% of all ischemic strokes, they are the leading cause of ischemic strokes affecting all age groups, including children, especially with patients in their fifth decade of life (Schievink, 2001). Most patients may present with minor stroke symptoms with localized pain in the neck or face and some patients may be asymptomatic. The diagnostic goal is to identify these patients prior to an ischemic event. Duplex ultrasound has proven to be a reliable and safe imaging modality that provides accurate diagnostic data for early carotid artery obstructive disease and follow up for dissections. Celiac Disease Essay The Pathophysiology of Celiac Disease Celiac disease (CD) is an autoimmune disorder involving both innate and adaptive immune responses that occurs among genetically predisposed subjects who are exposed to gluten containing foods (Green et al. 2015). People of all ages, genders, and races can develop CD (Fasano and Catassi 2012). Individuals with CD may have gastrointestinal symptoms or sometimes no signs of symptoms. The disease is characterized by severe immune mediated damage to the small intestine, typically involving chronic diarrhea, weight loss, anemia, and malnutrition (Gayathri and Rashmi 2014). Celiac disease like phenotypes can be traced back to the Greek physician Aretaeus in the first and second century AD (Kupfer and Jabri 2012). Since then, improved development of diagnostic testing provides more accurate data regarding the prevalence of CD, although many people remain undiagnosed. Epidemiologic studies in the United States and European countries consistently report a prevalence of 0.5% to 1.0% (Evans and Sanders 2012). CD is also prevalent in developing countries, like North Africa and the Middle East (Fasano and Catassi 2012).
