Website That Writes Essays
Crafting an essay on the subject of a "Website That Writes Essays" poses a unique set of
challenges that stem from the inherent paradox of the topic. The very act of delving into the
intricacies of such platforms introduces a layer of self-reference that can be both intriguing and
perplexing for the writer.
Firstly, the challenge lies in maintaining objectivity while exploring a service designed to replace
or assist in a task that the writer themselves is engaged in – essay writing. This self-awareness
might lead to a constant internal dialogue questioning the necessity and efficacy of such
platforms. The writer may grapple with the ethical considerations surrounding outsourcing one's
intellectual work and the potential consequences for both the academic community and
individual growth.
Secondly, the complexity emerges from the dynamic nature of the landscape. The internet is a
constantly evolving space, and the availability and functionality of essay-writing websites can
change rapidly. Staying abreast of the latest developments, assessing the credibility of different
platforms, and navigating the fine line between critique and endorsement present formidable
hurdles.
Moreover, the writer must navigate through the ethical dimensions of the subject. Analyzing the
impact of such websites on academic integrity and questioning their role in fostering genuine
learning becomes a tightrope walk. The essay must grapple with the tension between
convenience and the fundamental purpose of education – the acquisition of knowledge and
skills.
Lastly, there is the challenge of framing the discussion within the broader context of the digital
age. The proliferation of online resources has transformed the educational landscape, raising
questions about the traditional models of learning and assessment. The essay must not only
dissect the immediate topic but also contextualize it within the larger narrative of technological
advancements and their influence on education.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the "Website That Writes Essays" involves a nuanced
exploration of self-awareness, ethical considerations, technological dynamics, and the evolving
nature of education. Striking a balance between personal engagement and critical analysis is
paramount to providing a comprehensive perspective on this intricate subject.

America s Worst Failure Of Prohibition In The United States
For every prohibition you create, you also create an underground. jello biafra said
this referring to when every time the government tries to ban or regulate
something, people are trying to get out around the law. The 18th Amendment
started in January of 1920 to December of 1933 to reduce crime and corruption,
solve social problems, reduce tax burden created because of prisons and
poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene on America. It was a miserable failure
on all accounts. Prohibition had a reverse effect on the people of the U.S. due to the
damage it did to the economy, the corruption of officials in the us government, and
how it was one of the government s worst failures in U.S. history. prohibition
damaged the U.S. economy to the point it had a part of triggering the great
depression. with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With all of the cops we had meant that more and more people were getting arrested
which meant we had to spend more and more on prisons and had to spend more on
taking care of the prisoners. All of this spending increased government spending
substantially. with Prohibition passed as an Amendment, it made 60% 70% of the
U.S. population as criminals. It pretty much turned the average joe into a criminal.
That meant a lot more prisoners to take of. This is just of the reasons that
government spending increased. The monthly budget for the bureau went from
$4,400,000 in 1920 to $13,400,000 in 1925. That an increase of $9,000,000 in only 5

Ambition In The Time Of The Butterflies
Ambition is the desire and determination to achieve success. It is something that
every person should have to live fulfilling lives, but too much of it can be
dangerous. People would interpret someone s ambition as positive or as negative
depending on what it is they want to achieve. Some people would say that having
ambitions that are big will lead that person to a life of success and happiness.
However others might say that those big ambitions can only lead someone to a life
full of misery and disappointments when they either don t happen or they fail
entirely. In both the tragedy Macbeth by William Shakespeare and the novel In the
Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, a character is shown having a negative effect
on others and on themselves. According both stories, what can be determined is that...

In the tragedy Macbeth, William Shakespeare shows his character Macbeth as a
man with an ambition to become king of Scotland. The reason why Macbeth had
discovered this ambition is because three bearded witches had told him so and he
chose to believe them. His ambition to become king had led to his own downfall at
the end because he changed his image as an honest man into one of a selfish
murderer. At the beginning of the story Macbeth s friends would describe him as an
incredibly good man. He spoke to everyone with respect and a good attitude.
Macbeth says, As happy prologues to the swelling act of the imperial theme I thank
you, gentlemen. (1.3.141 142). However this happy attitude would not stay there for
long. Towards the end of the story, Macbeth had changed completely compared to the
first quote. With help from his wife, Macbeth had

Sam Patch s Leap into the Great Divide
Some things can be done as well as others , the famous line of Sam Patch became a
well known saying amongst U.S. citizens especially Jeffersonian and Jacksonian
democrats (Johnson, 163). Sam Patch was many things in his lifetime from a famous
falls jumper to a destitute mill worker to also the first American born boss spinner.
He however was viewed different amongst social groups in America. The common
folk and Jeffersonian democrats viewed Patch as a good man and somewhat of a
folk hero, while the middle class and Hamiltonians viewed him as a drunkard and a
sign of the decay of society in America. He was a product of the harsh system and ...

On the other hand; the middle class who was most often associated with
Hamiltonian views viewed Sam Patch as a simple drunkard and a symbol of the
decay and immoralities of American society. Journalists during his time wrote
Sam Patch like many other great geniuses is a greater friend to the bottle than the
bottle is to him (Johnson, 115). The middle class viewed themselves as
respectables and the wage earning class was inferior to them, which is evident in
the celebration ceremonies in Paterson on the Fourth of July. Celebrations started
off with a parade, banquet, and fireworks where all Patersonians were welcome to
participate, but gradually transitioned to a more exclusive celebration of a large
group of respectable Young Men where toasts weren t based on patriotism anymore
yet based on entrepreneurial progress (Johnson, 65). Sam Patch s celebrity and life
not only showed growing social and political differences, but it showed the
increasing gap that was growing between the wage earning and middle class as a
result of the market revolution.
The wage earning class was the debtors, debtors who owed money and had to work
to make a living for creditors, most of whom made up what would be known as the
middle class. The tradition of fathers passing their land on down to their sons was
slowly dying such as with Mayo Greenleaf Patch and his sons. Mayo Patch s life was
riddled with owing debts to the middle
Compare And Contrast Earthquake And Miami Earthquake
Earthquakes occur daily as plates of lithosphere travel on asthenosphere; however,
some earthquakes are larger and cause more damage than others. Major earthquake
zones include the circum pacific region, Indonesia to Europe, Caribbean and
Sandwich Islands, mid ocean ridges, and East Africa. Larger earthquakes are rarer
than smaller earthquakes, yet when they do occur, they are memorable. The Japan
earthquakeof 2011 and the Haiti earthquake of 2010 are memorable for unfavorable
circumstances, yet are excellent sources of study for seismologists and geologists.

In addition to the aforementioned information, the tsunami is also devastating to the
Japanese population, as well as nations surrounding the Pacific ocean. In fact, the
tsunami is the greatest cause of damage during the quake. In the tragic event, 15,890
people perished, 2,590 people reported missing, and 6,152 people suffered injuries in
Japan most of which as a result of the tsunami. The 2011 Japan earthquake could not
have been prevented, since natural disasters cannot be avoided, nor predicted;
however, several steps could have been taken to reduce the number of buildings
damaged. The Japanese government possesses good communication with their people
(hence the issued tsunami warning), so the loss of life could not have been avoided.
Despite strong communication with the public, the Japanese government could
implement building regulations to withstand severe earthquakes and issue an early
warning messaging system because sometimes, seconds make a difference. Today,
the Japanese government is actively working to reduce the amount of nuclear power
plants to avoid future complications with radioactivity and public health. January 12,

Karl Marx View On Capitalism
As the world becomes more advanced, it transforms into an increasingly competitive
state. The idea of success starts getting measured by how much money people make,
as opposed to emotional happiness. We end up dedicating our schedule around job
hours; we tend to work more, and get paid less; we search for jobs that eventually
drain our energy. Everyone, meet capitalism(*private ownership of business as a
means of production). A Greek philosopher named Karl Marxonce suggested that, for
these reasons and more, capitalism is evil. Well, I agree. In this essay, I will
closely examine Marx s view on capitalism. I will then justify his proposition by
applying it to my own experiences. To begin, in Wage Labour and Capital
/ Estranged Labour , Karl Marx explores the idea that capitalism is the root of
corruption in our society. In this type of community, he explains that labor is not
the only thing being given to a business. For instance, by giving someone our
labour, we are also selling them our time which is an essence of our existence. In
this case, Marx suggests that we, the workers, are a commodity (*a product for
general sale in a market). Generally, people see a commodity as a man made
product for purchase. Marx argues against that by saying, labour power... is a
commodity, neither more or less than sugar , because the workers sell their time
/ effort to capitalists, for wages in return (Marx 204). To explain further, a
commodity can be a form of reification (*regarding something immaterial, as
material). In this sense, the items we produce with our labor, is a reification of
time. As we see occurring currently with minimum wage jobs, the more time
someone sells to a capitalist, the more work they produce. This results in the
employee receiving income. This income might not even completely fulfill the
cost of all living expenses. Nevertheless, society keeps trying to reach for the
unrealistic goal of success . We keep working, keep getting by, in hopes that one
day we have a ridiculous amount of money. And when we don t? We sell more of
our time to try grasping that goal. This cycle ultimately causes alienation (*loss of
reality), as workers turn into machines (Marx 73). We begin to have one thing on our
Evolution of Jack s Character Depicted in Golding s Novel,...
William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies tells the story of a group of English
boys isolated on a desert island, left to attempt to retain civilisation. In the novel,
Golding shows one of the boys, Jack, to change significantly. At the beginning of
the book, Jack s character desires power and although he does not immediately get
it, he retains the values of civilized behaviour. However, as the story proceeds, his
character becomes more savage, leaving behind the values of society. Jack uses fear
of the beast to control the other boys and he changes to become the book s
representation of savagery, violence and domination. He is first taken over with an
obsession to hunt, which leads to a change in his physical appearance This change...

I thought, by myself...I thought I might kill. . The reader can see from this that
Jack s vocabulary is composed of only monosyllabic words as he is preoccupied
only with thoughts of slaughtering. We can also interpret that Jack feels as if he has
to kill in order to gain respect for himself. Jack shows this pride when he does
eventually kill a pig and he retells the story of the hunt to the rest of the boys. He
and some of the boys re enact the murder in a savage and primitive style. Therefore,
we can see how his behaviour has been affected as a result of his compassion and
need to hunt. This change in his behaviour is very significant as hunting is how
Jack begins to establish his power over the group. Soon after the killing of the first
pig, Jack is able to become more powerful and Ralph begins to realise this so he
says, I m calling an assembly. , as he feels in danger of losing control. The physical
appearance of Jack also changes greatly within the novel. Golding portrays Jack s
fixation with hunting to cause this. At the beginning of the novel, his image is
described as like the other choirboys, wearing shorts, a shirt and a black cloak,
finished off with a hambone frill . However, we see that in Chapter three, his
physical characteristics have now changed from a choirboy to a hunter. This is
shown where it says, His bare back was a mass of dark freckles and peeling
sunburn...he was naked. . His image also becomes
Vancouver Island Community Analysis
Earlier this week, I published a Guest Post from Anabel Marsh on Hidden
Histories. Her thoughtful, provocative post led to much reflection, including Who
does your town/city honour? It s a great question. Vancouver Island, where I
currently live, is home to influential and well known actors, artists, athletes,
journalists, musicians, philanthropists, politicians, scientists, Nobel Laureates,
writers and more. Many are honoured on our island in a variety of ways. One small
section of this island is home to a local hero who does not neatly fit into one
category. Phil St. Luke (aka Flying Phil ) may not be well known outside of his
surrounding area...but within his community he is much loved and celebrated. Phil
is frequently featured in local news stories, has a Facebook Fan Club and YouTube
video. He leads his town s annual Canada Day Parade, and his birthday, March 7, is

He had planned this return visit so that his young son could also meet this
community hero. What s so unique about Phil? A former Special Olympian
originally from Vancouver, Phil has lived in the Oceanside area since the 1970 s.
Unquestionably he has become the community s unofficial ambassador. He is well
known by generations of Oceanside residents for his daily rounds through the town s
streets, coffee shops and businesses where he warmly greets everyone whom he
meets. His big smile, his exuberance, his desire to do good and his volunteer work
with multiple community programs has been an inspiration to many. Phil s
relentlessly optimistic outlook is contagious. Common quotes about Phil include He
brings sunshine wherever he goes, His presence fills every room he enters and Phil
is somebody who touches everybody. Gordon Johns, Courtenay Alberni Member of

Lord Byron And Childe Harold s Pilgrimage By Samuel
Taylor...
If you want an inside glimpse into the man that Lord Byron was, all you need to do
is pick up some of his prose. In any of his pieces, there s a raw sense of emotion and
vulnerability that no other Romantic shows. William Blake wrote of nature and
religion. William Wordsworth wrote of the beauty of nature and how it made him
feel in hindsight. Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote of the supernatural and a sense of
peace that eventually fades away. All of those Romantic poets used a piece of their
life in their works, whether large or small, but not to the extent that Lord Byron did.
The way that Byron pours his personal life into the prose without overtly putting
himself in there, putting in emotion and internal dialogue without being too... Show

Another important part in Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, Byron unknowingly gives
the first glimpse into what would later be referred to as the Byronic Hero. The
Byronic Hero is usually a man who is smart and cunning. He s sophisticated,
moody, and anti authority. He s an arrogant, cynical exile who knew himself the
most unfit Of men to heard with Man; with whom he held Little in common (lines
100 102) and engages in self destructive behavior including sex, drugs, and alcohol.
He was Proud though in desolation; which could find A life within itself, to
breathe without mankind (lines 107 108) which shows that the Byronic hero did
not need anyone else. While this describes most of Byron s characters, it also
describes clichГ©d love interests in modern day teen novels and a classic trope in
film and television. By describing himself and drawing upon himself for
inspiration, Byron created something so iconic and unwavering that, very likely,
will never die down. While Byron is himself the original Byronic Hero, other
Romantics did not follow his footsteps: a fever at the core, Fatal to him who bears, to
all who ever bore, (lines 377 378) most Byronic Heroes die relatively young, in a
blaze of flames and rebellious greatness. Blake and Wordsworth died at 70 and 80
years of age, respectively. Byron, however, died at the age of 36 fighting in
Lord God, God And God
The Hebrew Bible is a redaction, a single document stitched together using different
sources. The first book, Genesis, means origin: both the origin of the world
(creation) and modern humans (genealogy). It is the product of two sources known
as the Priestly source (P) and the Yahwistic or Non Priestly Source (J). The two
sources present different versions of the supreme being: Godand Lord God. While
God and Lord God both have immense power and the unique ability to create, they
are separate characters with separate personalities. Lord God is like a Greek
anthropomorphic god with humandesires and limitations, whereas God is an all
powerful abstract being of pure spirit. Lord God, like a Greek anthropomorphic
god, has a human form and body. We first learn about Lord God in chapter two, the
second creation story. Firstly, Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground,
and breathed into his nostrils the breath. (2.7) The verb to form implies that Lord
God made man with his hands, and he has a breath, so he is not just an immaterial
being. Therefore, Lord God must have a physical form because he is directly
involved in the work of creation, not just commanding things to be. We see evidence
of his physical presence later when Adam and Eve[hear] the sound of the Lord God
walking in the garden... (3.8) For Lord God to be walking and making noise in the
garden, he would need to have feet, and by extension, a body.
In addition to his human physique, Lord God has a human
Cain s Weaknesses In The Story Of Cain
Cain expresses various weaknesses and strengths throughout the story of himself
and his brother. Within the story, his weaknesses seemed to overpower the
significance of the strengths. The one attribute that stood out the most on each
side of the spectrum was his love to please God and his jealousy created by not
receiving the same love from God. I believe that it is significant that Cain s
weaknesses are shown in the story. It proves a case where most humans can find
relatable and tell of a similar experience, granted that they are not banished and have
to live out a life of suffering. Out of all the characters from the Hebrew Bible, the
noblest seemed to be Noah. This is because of his legendary actions of saving two of
each animal species
Foundation Of Leadership
Chapter Two Analysis
The Foundation of Leadership by Kouzes James and Posner Barry focused on a
study that was conducted to figure out what most people look for in a leader. It
mentioned about a questionnaire being done on 76,000 people around the globe to
see what specific personal traits, characteristics,or attributes they want in a leader.
They asked several people what values, personal traits, or characteristics do they
look for and admire in a leader. In response there was several hundred different
values, traits, and characteristics. From this it was reduced down to twenty
characteristics. Then it became four that was the most striking/ most evident that
received over 60% of the votes. Those four striking characteristics of a leader are
being honest, forward looking, inspiring, and competent. One characteristic of a leader
are being honest. A leader cannot model the way without being seen as honest

People expect their leaders to be enthusiastic, energetic, and positive about the future.
If a leader is upbeat, positive, and optimistic about the future that offers people hope.
A leader must be able to communicate in a way that excites them about the cause.
They have to make the context meaningful. Leaders showing enthusiasm and
excitement are important they signal the leader s personal commitment to pursuing a
dream. Inspiring leaders tell their coworkers that they need to have a meaning or
purpose in their lives.
The fourth striking characteristic of a leader is competent. Leadership competence
has to do with the leader s checklist and ability to get things done. The leader will
need to guide the entire organization, whether if it s large or small in the direction
which it needs to go. A leader needs to be more technically knowledgeable than
someone less involved in providing service or making
Histoy of Blackbeard the Pirate
Throughout history pirates have terrorized the world s seas. There are few men
that have been feared as much as pirates were. Names such as pirate, buccaneer, and
privateer were given to these men and women that terrorized the seas. Black Sam
Bellamy, Bartholomew Roberts, Jean Lafitte, Stede Bonnet, and Ann Bonny are
some of the most feared names know to man. These were the names of pirates that
dominated the seas during the 1600 s and 1700 s, a time known as the Golden Age
of Piracy. However, one of the greatest pirates of all time was the great Edward
Teach, alias Blackbeard. He terrorized the seas for most of his gruesome life during
this era. The Golden Age of Piracy marked a time when sea travel was unsafe for

One of the most famous pirates of all time is Edward Teach. Historians believe
Edward Teach s original name was Edward Drummond and that he later changed it
to Teach after he became a true pirate. However, there is some mystery that
surrounds his real name. There are records showing that he sometimes went by
Thatch, Tach, Tatch, and Tash. These names could very well be an alias just as
much as the next. With all of these names, Edward Teach was most commonly
known as Blackbeard, and that is how he is remembered in history. Blackbeard
received his nickname from his long, black, gruff looking beard that covered most
of his face. He never trimmed his beard, and because of this, it grew down to his
chest and was very bushy. During raids, he would braid his long hair and beard and
tie slow burning, hemp fuses to the ends of his beard. He would light the fuses during
battle to make his head look like it were on fire, giving him a very scary look. The
effect was terrifying. His face, with its fierce eyes and matted hair, was wreathed in
smoke, and he looked to his prey like a fiend from hell (Botting, Douglas В– The
Pirates). Blackbeard s background, like that of most pirates, is obscure (Botting,
Douglas В– The Pirates). However, it is believed that Black bead was born in
Bristol, England around 1680. Contrary to popular belief, some people believe that
he was born in Virginia or Jamaica, but history books recognize Bristol as his home.

Water Pollution Is the Contamination of Water Bodies
Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies (e.g. lakes, rivers, oceans and
groundwater).
Water pollution affects plants and organisms living in these bodies of water; and, in
almost all cases the effect is damaging not only to individual species and populations,
but also to the natural biological communities.
Water pollution occurs when pollutants are discharged directly or indirectly into
water bodies without adequate treatment to remove harmful compounds.

point source.
[edit] Groundwater pollution
See also: Hydrogeology
Interactions between groundwater and surface water are complex. Consequently,
groundwater pollution, sometimes referred to as groundwater contamination, is not
as easily classified as surface water pollution.[7] By its very nature, groundwater
aquifers are susceptible to contamination from sources that may not directly affect
surface water bodies, and the distinction of point vs. non point source may be
irrelevant. A spill or ongoing releases of chemical or radionuclide contaminants into
soil (located away from a surface water body) may not create point source or non
point source pollution, but can contaminate the aquifer below, defined as a toxin
plume. The movement of the plume, a plume front, can be part of a Hydrological
transport model or Groundwater model. Analysis of groundwater contamination may
focus on the soil characteristics and site geology, hydrogeology, hydrology, and the
nature of the contaminants.
[edit] Causes of water pollution
The specific contaminants leading to pollution in water include a wide spectrum of
chemicals, pathogens, and physical or sensory changes such as elevated temperature
and discoloration. While many of the chemicals and substances that are regulated
may be naturally occurring (calcium, sodium, iron, manganese,

Summer Assignment Many groups around the world are culturally and economically
altered by other people and events. Before 1750, the British and the Spanish were
infinitely changed because of their interactions with the Indians of North America.
These two groups began exploring the New World due to the glorified idea that there
was an abundance of spices, silk, and wealth. The British and the Spanish ventured
into the New World looking for new land, new goods, and new beginnings. Initially
the Spanish explorers, such as Columbus, Cortes and Onate, made huge strides in
finding a route to the New World. Five years later, the British discovered the New
World five years later. The British encountered many Indian tribes and believed that
by distancing themselves from these tribes, they could create a purely English society
in North America. Contrary to the British, the Spanish enslaved the Indians and ruled
over them in order to get what they wanted. The Spanish attempted to spread their
culture and rule the Indians while gaining economic prosperity from the mined gold
and silver. The British, on the other hand, tried isolating their culture from the Indians
while gaining economic prosperity by using the Indians agricultural assistance. The
British were motivated to join this age of exploration because of their desire to
colonize. Before the British could expand and settle into new lands, England needed

The Life Of The Smithsonian National Museum Of
Natural...
At the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History there is an exhibit
called Eternal Life in Ancient Egypt . This exhibit focuses on Egypt s past with
important and interesting artifacts related to burial techniques and religious
beliefs. The most simple answer to why it is important to understand the way
people lived in the past is that we can t truly know ourselves until we understand
where we came from. This essay will analyze the exhibit to show what it s telling
us and why it is so important. To start, a main focus in the exhibit is the Egyptians
old burial rituals. It is widely known that the Egyptians used to mummify the dead.
The exhibit not only displays these mummies, but it also displays what they were
buried with. The objects buried in the tomb with the body are known to be for the
afterlife of the person who is buried. These objects in the exhibit, along with the
mummy and it s sarcophagus, included vessels for food and water, canopic jars for
the organs of the mummy, along with jewelry and figurines of the gods and
goddesses of Egypt. Also, the plaques on the inside of the exhibit s walls read
descriptions of ancient Egyptian beliefs and why some of the goods were buried with
the mummy. This can help visitors understand the way of life in ancient Egyptby
putting out these finds for everyone to learn from. The information on burial rituals
and objects shown on display depict Egypt s ancient religious beliefs and how the
afterlife worked.
Arctic Circle Creative Writing
My senior year of high school took me on an odyssey through Alaska s Arctic
Circle. When the bush pilot set us down on a gravel airstrip in an Eskimo village, a
world of rugged wilderness emerged before me. An Inupiat gentleman with long
gray hair and a thick beard met my family at the airstrip, and, with his four wheeler
and wagon, he served as our taxi. He zoomed us along a trail that wound its way
through tall pines, bouncing through mud puddles and sinkholes as we went. The
trail zagged on for five miles or so, until we arrived at a place where little box houses
appeared on the tundra. The four wheeler slowed, coming to a stop in front of a log
cabin. I sat in the wagon, looking at a mere stack of logs beneath a tin roof. I felt

Rhetorical Analysis Of Reagan s Farewell Address
The Usage of Rhetoric in Ronald Reagan s Farewell Address Due to the rapidly
changing America, in his farewell address, Ronald Reagan expresses the need for
unification of America, and America s culture. In Reagan s address, he uses many
rhetorical devices to advance his purpose of unifying America, for instance, Reagan
utilizes tone, syntax, and pathos to portray his pride, hopefulness, and patriotism for
America. He uses these devices to show Americans of the unification America needs.
Throughout the text, Reagan uses tone to express his pride for America. When he
says But oddly enough it starts with one of the things i m proudest of in the past
eight years: the resurgence of National Pride that I called the new patriotism. This...

It expresses the diversity of America, and how the no matter how different the
people of America are from one another, they have one common want: Freedom.
This quotation also appeals to pride, hopefulness, and patriotism, in the way that
he describes the way he sees America, a strong city full of diverse people, he sees a
country that has been through a lot of conflict and hardship, but nonetheless
survived it all. He sees a strong city, and the rest of America does too. Since he
uses this imagery to depict his vision of America, it appeals to the reader s sense of
pride and patriotism. Throughout his Farewell Address, Reagan employs syntax
to advance his purpose of the unification of America, when he says We ve got to do
a better job of getting across that America is freedom freedom of speech, freedom
of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare. It s fragile; it
needs protection. he repeats the word freedom many times, which invokes the
feeling of pride and patriotism to the audience and expresses that America is a very
prominent symbol of freedom, people from all around the world come to America
because when they think of America, they think of total freedom. Reagan also
emphasizes how Americans need to teach their children of the pride and spirit of
America, for the betterment of America s future society. Moreover, points out three
particular freedoms America provides, Freedom of

This new trading company was primarily made up of French Canadians and its
creation was a direct threat to the Hudson s Bay Company, which held an absolute
monopoly on the fur trade. In the middle of this conflict were the Metis, who held
important positions as traders, labourers and clerks within both trading companies.
By the end of the 18th century, many Metis people had begun to congregate around
the trading posts at Red River . Many of the clerks working for either trading
company were Metis and so the conflict grew in significance. Eventually the harsh
methods of the Hudson s Bay Company caused the Metis to become disillusioned
and so many joined with the Northwest Company. With increase in trade activity
around the red river valley, there was an increased need for transportation other

being set instead of one track, which had been done previously.
The conflict between the two companies came to a head when the Hudson s
Persuasive Essay About Dressing Your Children
With the snow on its way, it s time to start thinking about some family fun activities
you can do with your kids in Columbia. There s plenty of activities do when the
snow is falling, like building a snowman, having a fun and friendly snowball fight,
making countless snow angels, sledding, and so much more! However, in areas that
snow and reach bitterly coldtemperatures like Columbia it s important to dress your
kids properly. Whether you have an infant, toddler, or school aged child, you ll want
to ensure they have warm enough clothing so that they can enjoy the snow and avoid
a mid sledding meltdown. If you plan on enjoying the snow and participating in winter
activities with your children follow these simple tips to ensure your child is warm
and enjoying the fun!
Add some layers
Spending most of the day outside, you and your child will be active. Dressing your
child in layers is essential for keeping your child comfortable. Plus, throughout the
day, temperatures can fluctuate. However, you can maintain your child s comfort by
simply adding or removing a layer based on the weather. When the temperatures drop
and the wind chill rises, consider dressing your child with the common three layer
technique in mind:
Base Layer
A base layer is the layer of clothing that sits closest to the skin and is generally
meant to be a form of insulation. This can be a thick long sleeve shirt and
sweatpants or thermal underwear. In addition, part of the base layer is the socks.
You ll want to select a brand of socks that are breathable and that will keep your
kids feet warm throughout the day. Wool is an excellent fiber to use for base layers
both socks and the under clothing and will help keep moisture away.
Middle Layer
The mid layer can be as simple as a hoodie or a sweatshirt. The middle layer is
meant to provide some extra insulation when outside, but also provides enough
comfort to be worn indoors while taking a break to eat lunch or sip delicious hot
chocolate.
Outside Layer
When being active outside, the outer layer is very important for your kids. The
outside layer should consist of good quality snow pants and boots, as well as a
warm winter jacket. The type of outside layers needed can depend on what
Stradivarius Violin Research Paper
The construction of the Stradivarius violin is very unique compared to the build of
other violins, whether they were made centuries ago or serve as modern day
instruments. While there are a number of other rare violins and instruments of
different kinds, not even one has ever came remarkably close to achieving what
Antonio Stradivari has with the making of his stringed instruments, in particular, his
violins. Over the years there have been many attempts to reproduce the authentic
sound quality of his instruments, but no one has ever been able to achieve this goal.
What exactly makes the Stradivarius violinso unique? The materials used to make the

Stradivari was actually well in touch with the results of other impressive instruments
that had been constructed before his. He was able to gain experience by comparing
the many instruments built by the early Brescian and Cremonese makers by
deducing from them the aspects that made them unfavorable and applying these
aspects to his own creative works. Every generation has contributed something to
the construction of musical instruments, and Stradivari combined these centuries of
contributions to create something astounding that opened up a new chapter in
history. While it is a known fact that Stradivari got a lot of inspiration from
previous violinmakers (Visconti, who is a well known violinist, is said to have
given advice to this master of violin construction), people insist that he was a
natural born genius, so much so that he has been claimed to be a superhuman .
Based on scientific principles, many different works have been written based on the
unsurpassed tonal qualities found in his instruments. However, there has also been a
daily study of Stradivari s works that were compared to those of the craftsmen who
came before him. When put to the test it was found that the density of the bellies and
backs of Stradivari s instruments were made based on the principles of Gasparo, in
addition to the result of a gradual progression, which Maggini and Amatis had in
common with him. Those who have examined his work have noted that Stradivari
adjusted the thickness of his instruments, but there is no indication that he used any
principles as a guide other than what has been derived from the practices of his
forerunners. Stradivari left the backs and bellies of his instruments a little thinner (or
stouter), with their backs displaying a larger variation than their
Theme Of Self-Determination In Through The Tunnel
Throughout the story Through the Tunnel, the most important theme that recurs is
self determination. The boy in the story, Jerry, has demonstrated this self
determination by pushing himself through tough situations. One of these situations
was when Jerry saw the French boys playing in the ocean. In the text, it said, To be
with them, of them, was a craving that filled his whole body. (244) This quote proves
his determination because later on in the story, he then swam toward them.
Eventually, they started playing, and the boys yelled cheerful greetings at him. That s
when Jerry knew that he was welcomed in. Without his determination in this scene,
Jerry wouldn t have been able to play with the boys. Jerry demonstrates self
determination in

Skepticism and the Philosophy of Language in Early Modern Thought
ABSTRACT: This paper discusses the importance of skeptical arguments for the
philosophy of language in early modern thought. It contrasts the rationalist conception
of language and knowledge with that of philosophers who adopt some sort of
skeptical position, maintaining that these philosophers end up by giving language a
greater importance than rationalists. The criticism of the rationalists appeal to natural
light is examined, as well as skeptical arguments limiting knowledge such as the so
called maker s knowledge argument. This argument is then seen as capital for
favoring a positive interpretation of the importance of language for knowledge. The
revival of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to this view it is this kind of intuitive knowledge that grounds the
possibility of certain knowledge. Skeptics, on the other hand, attacked the very notion
of intuitive knowledge, either rejecting it, or, such as the more moderate ones,
restricting its application to specific domains, e.g., mathematics.
My main contention is that skeptical arguments, which were mainly arguments
purporting to establish limits to knowledge, opened the way to the consideration of
language as an alternative to mind s intuitive powers in man s access to reality.
Linguistic representation became important as a way of avoiding some of the main
problems affecting mental representation. I intend to concentrate here on one specific
septic argument known as the maker s knowledge argument, stating that we can only
know what we create. My hypothesis is that the philosophical interest in language
can be understood in many cases as a result of an interpretation of language as man s
creation and therefore as part of the maker s knowledge tradition.
Two related questions are central to this analysis: (1) How Descartes and the
Cartesians (such as the authors of the Port Royal Logic) considered language and its
role in the philosophical
CBCT Lab Analysis
The CBCT is somewhat recent imaging modality, as the first commercial scanner
being in use in 1998 for dental imaging aims (87). This is a subtype of computed
tomography which utilizes an x ray beam in the form of cone instead of the
conventional fan one (88). For standard full field of view for CBCT, polychromatic
X rays are generated from a source tube generated by 100 120 kV tube potential
using 1.5 10 mA current (89). The generated X ray photon energy is absorbed by
different materials found be¬tween the X ray source and detector. The remaining
energy after materials absorption is recorded on a film detector as expressed by
intensity (I) that means energy per area and time. For example, the flat panel
detector consists of a pixel array... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Scatter artifacts resulted from scattered X ray photons from the original path that is
added to the primary intensity causing an underesti¬mation of attenuation value in
Eq. 1. Scattering has increased chance to occur with the use of larger detectors
resulting in streak artefacts during reconstruction of the CBCT image (90).
Additionally, beam hardening happens as the energy levels of polychromatic X ray
beams used with the CBCT are not uniform, so the lower energy photons can be
absorbed easily at the edges of the scanned area causing hardening of the X ray
beam, which resulting in lower gray values toward the subject center causing what is
called cup¬ping artifact even if the density all over the subject is identical (91) Ring
artifacts caused by defects or un calibrated components in the detector forming
concentric rings in the CBCT im¬age. Dense metallic materials scanning can cause
severe streaking artifacts when their gray values are more than the maxi¬mum level
of operation that the software can deal with (91). Patient motion during CBCT
scanning can cause shading or streaking artefacts that appear when the gray values
are incorrectly registered on the resultant image (90, 91). This artefact com¬monly
showed as double contours in the CBCT image. Currently, CBCT based BMD
measurement has been used mainly to evaluate bone properties around dental

The Sierra Club s Political Program Essay
The bulk of The Sierra Club s stances and viewpoints are rife with notions that display
the liberal agenda of the organization. Environmentalism and the changes needed to
be made to support it are none other than liberal perspectives. As, conservatives, such
as blue collar workers and oil companies, are afraid and threatened by new legislation
to protect the environment. So naturally, the conservatives oppose such changes in
order to continue their operations and not succumb to new environmental measures.
This idea is found within the erstwhile Grand Canyon Campaign, in which The Sierra
Clubcompromised with the Bureau of Reclamation in order to save the Grand
Canyon from flooding. Though, the bureau still got their power in terms of coal
power plants. However, the liberal agenda can be identified most apparently within
the various acts of legislation the pushed through to get passed. The Sierra Club s
political program is dedicated to electing clean air, clean water and climate action
champions at all levels of government (Funk Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia
2016). These Acts dealing with air, water, and other subjects like endangered species,
has led to various implementation of regulation within society. The idea of
regulations are more liberal as they trust in the government to help take action with
these acts rather than a conservatism view in which they believe the government
should not be so intrusive. However, despite The Sierra Clubs political spectrum, it is
Wedding Anniversaries And Traditional Gift Materials
It s customary for married couples to celebrate their wedding anniversaries and
tradition states that there are certain types of gifts that are appropriate to give for
each anniversary. These gifts traditionally represent materials that symbolize a
marriage built in strength. They appear to have evolved during medieval Europe,
when women were presented with wreaths of silver for the twenty fifth
anniversaries and wreaths of gold for the fiftieth. If you ve been invited to party for a
couple celebrating a major wedding anniversary, use this following list of traditional
gift materials coupled with updated gift ideas and you ll be certain to wow the
celebrating couple.
First Anniversary.
The first wedding anniversary is associated with paper. You could give a card, of
course, or you could push the envelope a little bit (quite literally, in fact) with a
stationary set customized with the couple s initials. An inspiring book about love
also makes a great paper gift.
Second Anniversary.
It is tradition to give a gift of cotton for a second anniversary. Clothing may be too
personal of a gift to give, although, if you re close to the couple, a set of matching
pajamas would make a charming gift. If that s too intimate, opt for a decorative
pillow with some sort of inscription of love of heart on it.
Third Anniversary.
Leather is the custom for this one. Today it easy to find stylish, leather adorned
items for the home. Try a large picture frame or photo album. If you re
Functionalist Perspective On Crime
The functionalism perspective is established on the contributions made by Emile
Durkheim. According to functionalism, society is a whole of correlative that work
together to care for a state of equilibrium. For instance, a family makes available
circumstances for reproducing, and sustenance; political affairs support a method
of commanding members of society; and religion adds honest advice and an outlet
for church service. Functionalists use the words functional and dysfunctional to
depict the result of social environment on society. A few features of society can be
functional and dysfunctional. Case in point, crime is dysfunctional and is united
with physical violence, misplace of possessions, and anxiety. In line with
Durkheim and other functionalists, crime is additionally functional for society
because it guides to intense knowledge of shared ethical connections and greater
social union. The conflict perspective explains different appearances of our social
world by looking at which groups have ability and can profit from a specific social
agreement. The basis of the conflict perspective can be found from the work of
Karl Marx. Marx proposed that all societies go through levels of financial
development. The disconnection of society into two wide classes of people the haves
and the have nots is helpful to the owners creating goods. Marx mentioned that
religion be of use as a drug of the public and that it calms the anxiety and affliction

Mark Synoptic Gospel
The Synoptic Puzzle and the Authority of the Gospel of Mark
The literary relationship between the Synoptic Gospels of the New Testament has
intrigued Bible scholars for centuries. The arrangement of the Gospels, their content,
and their portraits of Jesus offer something unique and create three books to be read
independently of each other. Upon close examination, however, a wealth of
evidence exists to prove that Mark was written first. The two source hypothesis
demonstrates the influence Mark had on the authors of Matthew and Luke, and the
subsequent Gospels they wrote. In terms of structure, one could conclude based on a
fleeting observation that Mark was written first because it is the shortest of the three
Synoptic Gospels. It would make more sense for the authors of Matthew and Luke
to expand on the writings of Mark, rather than for Mark to reduce or eliminate what
was already written in Matthew and Luke. If the purpose of the ... Show more content

Matthew and Luke create a portrait of Jesus that is simultaneously compassionate and
divine. Both books eliminate any text that would depict Jesus as human or
incompetent and replace it with divine authority. Likewise, the disciples are cast in
a better light, no longer of no faith (Mark 4:40) but now of little faith (Matt. 16:12).
Both Matthew and Luke conclude with hopeful endings, in which Jesus declares his
eternal companionship ( I am with you always, to the end of the age (Matt. 28:20))
and ascends to heaven (Luke 24:50 53). The authors of Matthew and Luke have taken
the core essentials of Mark and the Q Source and reimagined them in ways that would
comfort and spiritually aid the persecuted audiences for which the Gospels were
intended. Christ s divinity affirms his authority, and that authority gives readers
comfort in knowing that their suffering will not go unacknowledged in the kingdom of
The Definition Of Marriage And Family Relationships Essay
What is the definition of marriage in the Bible? Better yet what is the definition of
family in the Bible? In Scripture there are many families which could be studied in
order to better answer this question, but some of the most prominent choices are
Abraham s family, David s family, and Solomon s family. Each of these families in
turn had their own sets of issues and problems, but there are also Biblical solutions
to these problems which shall be address through the course of this paper. But,
before this is done it is important to take note of what God s definitions are.
To begin, I will start by explaining what my understanding of marriage and family
relationships according to scripture are supposed to look like. Now, throughout both
the Old Testament and New Testament many commandments are given to both
children and parents. For instance, one of the most obvious commands given to
children was, Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the
land the Lord your God is giving you, (Ex. 20:12, New International Version (NIV)).
To honor someone means to treat him or her with respect and put them in a place of
high esteem. Honor and respect means a child should not speak back to their parents,
they should not curse out their parents in any way, and in general they should respect
their parents wishes. But, going further than this Colossians 3:20 says, Children, obey
your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord, (Col. 3:20, NIV).

Symptoms, Diagnosis, And Treatment Of Asthma
Imagine yourself on a cold, gloomy Winter night being awakened by the endless
chest pain and the persistent abnormal breathing that you ve had to deal with all
night. And then it occurs have you ever heard about a fish without water not being
able to breath that s how it feels to have asthma or experience an attack at least. I was
diagnosed with asthmawhen I was approximately ten years old which gave rise to a
new fear not knowing when or where I might experience another asthma attack.
Because I want to be a nurse anesthetic in the future, I want to learn more about one
of the diseases that I have, I also want to learn more about its symptoms, diagnosis,
and or treatment.
To begin with, asthma is defined as a chronic respiratory condition characterized by
breathing symptoms of varying intensity and frequency (Plottel 2). The word
symptom is defined as what the patient notices, experiences, and reports to his or her
treating physician as abnormal or different from usual. Some of the Medical Textbook
or classic symptoms of asthma may be wheezing, coughing, and abnormal dyspnea.
While in the office or clinic on the other hand, some may experience an unusual
awareness of breathing, uncomfortable breathing, chest pressure or a feeling of chest
discomfort, wheezing or noisy breathing, labored breathing, coughing, mucus
production, and breathless with exertion or effort. Dyspnea is an abnormal awareness
of breathing; kind of breathless (Plottel 34). According to Plottel,

Narrative Essay On Waiting On God
Dreaming with God is a beautiful gift from Him, and although questions filled my
limited mind, my capacity to comprehend, I owe everything to the Lord whose
grace and love abundantly flows. A series of parabolic dreams and clear visions
flooded my sleep nights, and what the Lord apparently conveyed has created a mixed
feeling of excitement and confusion.
Inquisitiveness to understand the mysteries of the night parables led me to dig
deeper into His word. But I couldn t seem to weave the thread together the way it
should a sizeable amount of thread was missing. Prayers for help and wisdom
became my expressions and it was in this season of waiting that I have learned a
valuable lesson:
Waiting on God is not a passive move we have to deliberately seek His Word with an
attitude of meekness and rely on the Spirit of God to illuminate hidden things.
One specific dream has baffled me for a long time.
Looking at these two kinds of trees in the garden that were parallel to each other has
created curiosity within. The tree on the left was radiantly shining, abundantly
flourishing with green foliage and strong branches, which reflect goodness and
vitality. The other tree on the right was the exact opposite, dead and wilted, and not
one leaf on the branches remains. While gazing on these two trees, trying to analyze
what I was seeing, I heard a voice that said the word nation .
The sound of this voice woke me up mystified. I prayed and sought the meaning of
this dream,

How To Write A Self Assessment Summary
Self Assessment Summary
Evaluation of my learning style Assessing oneself and knowing what you are as a
professional and individual can help in developing your skills in the precise
direction and in a more effective manner. After assessing myself as a learner I
realised that I m more of an auditory learner than visual and my strength lies in
learning by hearing and listening as this keeps me active and focussed during the
learning process. This helps me in retaining information for a longer duration and I m
able to use information more effectively. MBTI suggests that these types of learners
should read information aloud to themselves to grasp it more effectively; this
technique certainly helps as reading aloud makes me re iterate information
Comparing the Personalities and Values of Steve Jobs and...
How did Jobs early years, prior to Apple, influence his view about human nature,
work, and assumptions about employees? Please provide specific examples that
support your answer. Jobs early years, prior to Apple influenced his view of life.
Concerning human nature, Jobs believed that human being were spiritual beings. It is
ones responsibility to find the inner spirit, be enlightened to attain inner peace this
enhanced personal growth. He believed that unless one did this, they would be
controlled by their circumstances, the situation in which they found themselves. One
is able to take control of their thought process and view of life. He realized that an
intuitive understanding and consciousness was more significant than abstract
thinking and intellectual logical analysis, (Issacson, 2011, p. 37). His trip to India
magnified this perception as he realized that people in Indian countryside did not use
their intellect as those in the America, instead they used their intuition. He
considered intuition as more powerful than intellect. Steve Jobs early experiences at
his father s garage informed his attitude towards work. To him the key reasons for
work were to get money, adventure, it had to be interesting. He had an attitude that
he could do anything, there was nothing like no in his work vocabulary. What caught
his eye while searching for his first jobs was the Have fun, make money,

Mariama Bâ’s So Long a Letter Essay
Mariama BГў s So Long a Letter
When a person hears words like feminist or feminism, notions of what it means to be
feminine, or consequently unfeminine, begin to dimly form in our mind s eye.
Although we cannot definitively answer the question of what is feminine, we are
able to recognize it when we see it or its absence. This conception, however, is
arbitrary at best. What is it about an evening gown that seems to define and dress the
feminine aura while a woman spitting would be denounced as inherently unfeminine?
There is no question that Mariama BГў s novel, So Long a Letter, is undoubtedly a
work of feminist literature. Although we are able to easily make this identification, it
is much more difficult for us to define and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The social and not biological origin of these gender roles within a society imply that
these rules can be changed, altered, or disregarded completely, allowing for social
change and mobility. Ramatoulaye echoes Grosz s message in her conversation with
Daouda in which she seeks to de objectify women, and stresses the importance of
women within a society:
Women should no longer be decorative accessories, objects to be moved about,
companions to be flattered or calmed with promises. Women are the nation s primary,
fundamental root, from which all else grows and blossoms. (BГў 61 62)
Although Ramatoulaye identifies and celebrates the importance of women as their
own separate group, it would that she does without having to subordinate women to
men. Using the ability to create life, she acknowledges the inherent difference
between men and women without creating a hierarchy between them. This
deconstruction of the male female hierarchy is crucial in moving away from the
patriarch dominated world into one of equality:
For patriarchs, difference is understood in terms of inequality, distinction, or
opposition, a sexual difference modeled on negative, binary, or oppositional structures
within which only one of the two terms has any autonomy; the other is defined only

The Notion Of Purchasing Power Parity
A.Discuss the notion of purchasing power parity (PPP) (10 marks) 300 words
Purchasing power parity (PPP) was developed as the theory of exchange rate
determination, which was the basis for the relationship between product price levels
and exchange rates and is now primarily used to compare living standards across
countries (CFA, 2015).
The foundation version of PPP was based on the assumption that identical goods
should trade at the same price across countries when valued in terms of a common
currency. This is known as the law of one price and derived from the no arbitrage
assumption (Dornbush, 1985; Taylor and Taylor, 2004; CFA, 2015). It means that a
bundle of goods and services would cost the same in two countries when the ... Show

Absolute PPP is the extended version of the law of one price with all goods and
services consumed in different countries instead of one single good (CFA, 2015).
Absolute PPP is expressed as ( ). The absolute PPP asserts that the current spot rate
is determined by the ratio of national price levels, although like the one price theory
struggles in actual application (Alba and Papell, 2007; Alessandria, and Kaboski,
2011). An example of the average price for a Big Mac was $4.79 in January 2015 in
the US whereas at market exchange rate in China it was only $2.77, showing that
China yuan is undervalued compared to US dollar. This has reduced the Absolute
PPP s usefulness as the theory of exchange rate determination.
On the other hand, the Relative and Ex Ante PPP implies that exchanged rate
between two countries is affected by their inflation rates and expressed as (CFA,
2015). In the long run, the relative PPP predicts that countries with a low inflation
rate have currency s that tend to appreciate and conversely with countries that have a
high inflation rate; and the % change in exchange rate will equal the % difference in
national inflation rates (Baffes, 1991; Taylor and Taylor, 2004).
Although shot term, nominal exchange rates could be volatile but over the long run
will tend to gravitate toward PPP equilibrium values (Yotopoulos and Sawada, 2006;
Papell and Prodan, 2006). Hence PPP could be seen as a vale
The Nativity Story And The Gospel Of Matthew
The film The Nativity Story shares many similarities with the Gospel of Matthew.
Matthew was writing for the Jews, so his Gospel focuses primarily on Jesus being
the messiah because he fulfills the prophecies. His Gospel also focuses on the
paternal side of Jesus s birth, since Joseph being from the line of David connects Jesus
to the Old Testament Covenant with David. In the film, Joseph s perception of the
events at had is often portrayed. Showing the story through his eyes. We also get
insight into is his thoughts on occasions, which furthers the films parallels to the
Gospel of Matthew. Within Matthew s Gospel, there are five key details used to
connect the birth of Jesus to the Old Testament prophecies, all of which appear in the
film.
First, the film begins and ends with the massacre of innocents, the first key detail.
This slaughter of innocents was ordered by Herod as a way of preserving his
throne. He was worried that the king of kings was coming to end him, and he
wanted to ensure that his throne was safe. He is the second detail. This slaughter
of innocents is what caused Joseph to take Mary and Jesus and flee to Egypt, the
third key detail. Just like in the Bible, God spoke to Joseph in a dream, telling him
to take his family and flee to Egypt, only returning when he was instructed. Had
Joseph not done this, Jesus may not have survived to save us from our sins. Next in
the film comes the wise men, the fourth detail. These wisemen come from the east,

International Law is Divided into Private and Public
The term of International law first used by Jeremy Bentham in his Introduction to the
Principles of Morals and Legislation, later Hugo Grotius who is a one of the
prominent intellectual figure in Europe lead to concept of the modern framework for
international law. According the United Nations, international law is defined as the
legal responsibilities of States in their conduct with each other, and their treatment of
individuals within State boundaries. In addition to the U.N. definition, along with the
States non governmental organizations (NGO) and individuals go on to became a
subordinate subject of international law, too. International law divided into two parts
as private international law and public international; however, general usage of the
international law refers to public international law. Through my Fulbright
independent research project, I hope to deepen and strengthen knowledge on
International law and then especially I would like to specialize academic studies in
international humanitarian law (IHL). The range of subjects and actors directly
concerned with international law has widened considerably and the realm of
international law encompasses various fields such as human rights, international
crime, refugees, migration, problems of nationality, the treatment of prisoners, the
use of force, and the law of warenvironment, trade and economic issues, air and
space law. To extent an international humanitarian law (IHL) which is also known as

Disaster Recovery Plan
Throughout history, there has been many close calls with natural disasters, such as
hurricanes, twisters, and earthquakes. For this reason alone, many organizations
today realize the importance to design or perhaps review their disaster plans. These
plans should include detailed documentation to counteract the interruption or
destruction of technology used in the facility. One perfect example, would be in the
healthcare industry.
In the last couple of years, hospitals have been transitioning from old standard files
to electronic medical records. Due to this new technology, medical staff has the
ability to view medical records, order medication and lab tests, and view the results
of those tests. Consequently, key personnel has to be assigned and involved in the
development of disaster recovery regulations, safety precautions, and other critical
services. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The benefits that come from this document, is its ability to provide a guidance for
responding to a number of possible problems, such as bad weather, hacking of digital
information, interruption of third party services, etc. Consequently, this framework
will help organizations prevent huge financial losses, sensitive data, and other
important assets (Martin, B. 2002).
There are no limits to who or the specification of how many individuals should be
involved in the creation of a disaster recovery plan. From IT personnel to managers,
or people who belong to certain departments who perhaps play an important role in
decision making. The idea of a continuity plan is to touch or address every aspect
of possible losses, and solutions. However, in order to be precise in the development
of these plans, it is recommended to have these people assigned to a disaster
recovery team (Myers, K.
Washkansky s Transplantation Case Study
At 12:50 am on Sunday, December 3rd, 1967, Washkansky was taken into the
operating room, anaesthetised and ready to be prepped for transplantation by
Christiaan Barnard. Barnard made an incision, opened Washkansky chest, and began
inserting cannulas (a thin tube inserted into a vein or body cavity to administer
medicine, drain off fluid, or insert a surgical instrument) which are necessary for the
heartlung machine.
Meanwhile, Denise Darvall was in another operating room being prepped for
transplant by Marius Barnard. She had an artificial respirator to help her breathe
and to keep her alive. At 2:20 am, a message was sent to Marius that Washkansky
was ready for the operation and Marius then switched off Denise s artificial
respirator. Twelve minutes later, Denise Darvall s heart stopped
As soon as Darvall s heart stopped, the surgical team made an incision, opened up her
chest and connected her to a heart lung machine. This cooled her blood to preserve
her organs. Christiaan Barnard then cut through the major vessels of Denise s heart,
removed it, and placed the immaculate organ into a sterile dish that was filled with
cold preserving solution at 10 degrees centigrade. Next, the heart was carried next
door, where Louis Washkansky was prepped and ready. It was then immediately

  • 3. America s Worst Failure Of Prohibition In The United States For every prohibition you create, you also create an underground. jello biafra said this referring to when every time the government tries to ban or regulate something, people are trying to get out around the law. The 18th Amendment started in January of 1920 to December of 1933 to reduce crime and corruption, solve social problems, reduce tax burden created because of prisons and poorhouses, and improve health and hygiene on America. It was a miserable failure on all accounts. Prohibition had a reverse effect on the people of the U.S. due to the damage it did to the economy, the corruption of officials in the us government, and how it was one of the government s worst failures in U.S. history. prohibition damaged the U.S. economy to the point it had a part of triggering the great depression. with... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With all of the cops we had meant that more and more people were getting arrested which meant we had to spend more and more on prisons and had to spend more on taking care of the prisoners. All of this spending increased government spending substantially. with Prohibition passed as an Amendment, it made 60% 70% of the U.S. population as criminals. It pretty much turned the average joe into a criminal. That meant a lot more prisoners to take of. This is just of the reasons that government spending increased. The monthly budget for the bureau went from $4,400,000 in 1920 to $13,400,000 in 1925. That an increase of $9,000,000 in only 5 years. not only did the government
  • 4. Ambition In The Time Of The Butterflies Ambition is the desire and determination to achieve success. It is something that every person should have to live fulfilling lives, but too much of it can be dangerous. People would interpret someone s ambition as positive or as negative depending on what it is they want to achieve. Some people would say that having ambitions that are big will lead that person to a life of success and happiness. However others might say that those big ambitions can only lead someone to a life full of misery and disappointments when they either don t happen or they fail entirely. In both the tragedy Macbeth by William Shakespeare and the novel In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez, a character is shown having a negative effect on others and on themselves. According both stories, what can be determined is that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the tragedy Macbeth, William Shakespeare shows his character Macbeth as a man with an ambition to become king of Scotland. The reason why Macbeth had discovered this ambition is because three bearded witches had told him so and he chose to believe them. His ambition to become king had led to his own downfall at the end because he changed his image as an honest man into one of a selfish murderer. At the beginning of the story Macbeth s friends would describe him as an incredibly good man. He spoke to everyone with respect and a good attitude. Macbeth says, As happy prologues to the swelling act of the imperial theme I thank you, gentlemen. (1.3.141 142). However this happy attitude would not stay there for long. Towards the end of the story, Macbeth had changed completely compared to the first quote. With help from his wife, Macbeth had
  • 5. Sam Patch Essay Jonathan Kroger History 2111 April 22, 2010 Sam Patch s Leap into the Great Divide Some things can be done as well as others , the famous line of Sam Patch became a well known saying amongst U.S. citizens especially Jeffersonian and Jacksonian democrats (Johnson, 163). Sam Patch was many things in his lifetime from a famous falls jumper to a destitute mill worker to also the first American born boss spinner. He however was viewed different amongst social groups in America. The common folk and Jeffersonian democrats viewed Patch as a good man and somewhat of a folk hero, while the middle class and Hamiltonians viewed him as a drunkard and a sign of the decay of society in America. He was a product of the harsh system and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On the other hand; the middle class who was most often associated with Hamiltonian views viewed Sam Patch as a simple drunkard and a symbol of the decay and immoralities of American society. Journalists during his time wrote Sam Patch like many other great geniuses is a greater friend to the bottle than the bottle is to him (Johnson, 115). The middle class viewed themselves as respectables and the wage earning class was inferior to them, which is evident in the celebration ceremonies in Paterson on the Fourth of July. Celebrations started off with a parade, banquet, and fireworks where all Patersonians were welcome to participate, but gradually transitioned to a more exclusive celebration of a large group of respectable Young Men where toasts weren t based on patriotism anymore yet based on entrepreneurial progress (Johnson, 65). Sam Patch s celebrity and life not only showed growing social and political differences, but it showed the increasing gap that was growing between the wage earning and middle class as a result of the market revolution. The wage earning class was the debtors, debtors who owed money and had to work to make a living for creditors, most of whom made up what would be known as the middle class. The tradition of fathers passing their land on down to their sons was slowly dying such as with Mayo Greenleaf Patch and his sons. Mayo Patch s life was riddled with owing debts to the middle
  • 6. Compare And Contrast Earthquake And Miami Earthquake Earthquakes occur daily as plates of lithosphere travel on asthenosphere; however, some earthquakes are larger and cause more damage than others. Major earthquake zones include the circum pacific region, Indonesia to Europe, Caribbean and Sandwich Islands, mid ocean ridges, and East Africa. Larger earthquakes are rarer than smaller earthquakes, yet when they do occur, they are memorable. The Japan earthquakeof 2011 and the Haiti earthquake of 2010 are memorable for unfavorable circumstances, yet are excellent sources of study for seismologists and geologists. March 11, 2011 Japan experiences one of the most devastating earthquakes recorded. The epicenter, located at 38.297 N, 142.372 E, produces a magnitude 9.0 earthquake at a depth... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to the aforementioned information, the tsunami is also devastating to the Japanese population, as well as nations surrounding the Pacific ocean. In fact, the tsunami is the greatest cause of damage during the quake. In the tragic event, 15,890 people perished, 2,590 people reported missing, and 6,152 people suffered injuries in Japan most of which as a result of the tsunami. The 2011 Japan earthquake could not have been prevented, since natural disasters cannot be avoided, nor predicted; however, several steps could have been taken to reduce the number of buildings damaged. The Japanese government possesses good communication with their people (hence the issued tsunami warning), so the loss of life could not have been avoided. Despite strong communication with the public, the Japanese government could implement building regulations to withstand severe earthquakes and issue an early warning messaging system because sometimes, seconds make a difference. Today, the Japanese government is actively working to reduce the amount of nuclear power plants to avoid future complications with radioactivity and public health. • 7. Karl Marx View On Capitalism As the world becomes more advanced, it transforms into an increasingly competitive state. The idea of success starts getting measured by how much money people make, as opposed to emotional happiness. We end up dedicating our schedule around job hours; we tend to work more, and get paid less; we search for jobs that eventually drain our energy. Everyone, meet capitalism(*private ownership of business as a means of production). A Greek philosopher named Karl Marxonce suggested that, for these reasons and more, capitalism is evil. Well, I agree. In this essay, I will closely examine Marx s view on capitalism. I will then justify his proposition by applying it to my own experiences. To begin, in Wage Labour and Capital / Estranged Labour , Karl Marx explores the idea that capitalism is the root of corruption in our society. In this type of community, he explains that labor is not the only thing being given to a business. For instance, by giving someone our labour, we are also selling them our time which is an essence of our existence. In this case, Marx suggests that we, the workers, are a commodity (*a product for general sale in a market). Generally, people see a commodity as a man made product for purchase. Marx argues against that by saying, labour power... is a commodity, neither more or less than sugar , because the workers sell their time / effort to capitalists, for wages in return (Marx 204). To explain further, a commodity can be a form of reification (*regarding something immaterial, as material). In this sense, the items we produce with our labor, is a reification of time. As we see occurring currently with minimum wage jobs, the more time someone sells to a capitalist, the more work they produce. This results in the employee receiving income. This income might not even completely fulfill the cost of all living expenses. Nevertheless, society keeps trying to reach for the unrealistic goal of success . We keep working, keep getting by, in hopes that one day we have a ridiculous amount of money. And when we don t? We sell more of our time to try grasping that goal. This cycle ultimately causes alienation (*loss of reality), as workers turn into machines (Marx 73). We begin to have one thing on our
  • 8. Evolution of Jack s Character Depicted in Golding s Novel,... William Golding s novel The Lord of The Flies tells the story of a group of English boys isolated on a desert island, left to attempt to retain civilisation. In the novel, Golding shows one of the boys, Jack, to change significantly. At the beginning of the book, Jack s character desires power and although he does not immediately get it, he retains the values of civilized behaviour. However, as the story proceeds, his character becomes more savage, leaving behind the values of society. Jack uses fear of the beast to control the other boys and he changes to become the book s representation of savagery, violence and domination. He is first taken over with an obsession to hunt, which leads to a change in his physical appearance This change... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I thought, by myself...I thought I might kill. . The reader can see from this that Jack s vocabulary is composed of only monosyllabic words as he is preoccupied only with thoughts of slaughtering. We can also interpret that Jack feels as if he has to kill in order to gain respect for himself. Jack shows this pride when he does eventually kill a pig and he retells the story of the hunt to the rest of the boys. He and some of the boys re enact the murder in a savage and primitive style. Therefore, we can see how his behaviour has been affected as a result of his compassion and need to hunt. This change in his behaviour is very significant as hunting is how Jack begins to establish his power over the group. Soon after the killing of the first pig, Jack is able to become more powerful and Ralph begins to realise this so he says, I m calling an assembly. , as he feels in danger of losing control. The physical appearance of Jack also changes greatly within the novel. Golding portrays Jack s fixation with hunting to cause this. At the beginning of the novel, his image is described as like the other choirboys, wearing shorts, a shirt and a black cloak, finished off with a hambone frill . However, we see that in Chapter three, his physical characteristics have now changed from a choirboy to a hunter. This is shown where it says, His bare back was a mass of dark freckles and peeling sunburn...he was naked. . His image also becomes
  • 9. Vancouver Island Community Analysis Earlier this week, I published a Guest Post from Anabel Marsh on Hidden Histories. Her thoughtful, provocative post led to much reflection, including Who does your town/city honour? It s a great question. Vancouver Island, where I currently live, is home to influential and well known actors, artists, athletes, journalists, musicians, philanthropists, politicians, scientists, Nobel Laureates, writers and more. Many are honoured on our island in a variety of ways. One small section of this island is home to a local hero who does not neatly fit into one category. Phil St. Luke (aka Flying Phil ) may not be well known outside of his surrounding area...but within his community he is much loved and celebrated. Phil is frequently featured in local news stories, has a Facebook Fan Club and YouTube video. He leads his town s annual Canada Day Parade, and his birthday, March 7, is known to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He had planned this return visit so that his young son could also meet this community hero. What s so unique about Phil? A former Special Olympian originally from Vancouver, Phil has lived in the Oceanside area since the 1970 s. Unquestionably he has become the community s unofficial ambassador. He is well known by generations of Oceanside residents for his daily rounds through the town s streets, coffee shops and businesses where he warmly greets everyone whom he meets. His big smile, his exuberance, his desire to do good and his volunteer work with multiple community programs has been an inspiration to many. Phil s relentlessly optimistic outlook is contagious. Common quotes about Phil include He brings sunshine wherever he goes, His presence fills every room he enters and Phil is somebody who touches everybody. In any of his pieces, there s a raw sense of emotion and vulnerability that no other Romantic shows. William Blake wrote of nature and religion. William Wordsworth wrote of the beauty of nature and how it made him feel in hindsight. Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote of the supernatural and a sense of peace that eventually fades away. All of those Romantic poets used a piece of their life in their works, whether large or small, but not to the extent that Lord Byron did. The way that Byron pours his personal life into the prose without overtly putting himself in there, putting in emotion and internal dialogue without being too... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another important part in Childe Harold s Pilgrimage, Byron unknowingly gives the first glimpse into what would later be referred to as the Byronic Hero. The Byronic Hero is usually a man who is smart and cunning. He s sophisticated, moody, and anti authority. He s an arrogant, cynical exile who knew himself the most unfit Of men to heard with Man; with whom he held Little in common (lines 100 102) and engages in self destructive behavior including sex, drugs, and alcohol. He was Proud though in desolation; which could find A life within itself, to breathe without mankind (lines 107 108) which shows that the Byronic hero did not need anyone else. While this describes most of Byron s characters, it also describes clichГ©d love interests in modern day teen novels and a classic trope in film and television. By describing himself and drawing upon himself for inspiration, Byron created something so iconic and unwavering that, very likely, will never die down. While Byron is himself the original Byronic Hero, other Romantics did not follow his footsteps: a fever at the core, Fatal to him who bears, to all who ever bore, (lines 377 378) most Byronic Heroes die relatively young, in a blaze of flames and rebellious greatness. Blake and Wordsworth died at 70 and 80 years of age, respectively. Byron, however, died at the age of 36 fighting in
  • 11. Lord God, God And God The Hebrew Bible is a redaction, a single document stitched together using different sources. The first book, Genesis, means origin: both the origin of the world (creation) and modern humans (genealogy). It is the product of two sources known as the Priestly source (P) and the Yahwistic or Non Priestly Source (J). The two sources present different versions of the supreme being: Godand Lord God. While God and Lord God both have immense power and the unique ability to create, they are separate characters with separate personalities. Lord God is like a Greek anthropomorphic god with humandesires and limitations, whereas God is an all powerful abstract being of pure spirit. Lord God, like a Greek anthropomorphic god, has a human form and body. We first learn about Lord God in chapter two, the second creation story. Firstly, Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath. (2.7) The verb to form implies that Lord God made man with his hands, and he has a breath, so he is not just an immaterial being. Therefore, Lord God must have a physical form because he is directly involved in the work of creation, not just commanding things to be. We see evidence of his physical presence later when Adam and Eve[hear] the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden... (3.8) For Lord God to be walking and making noise in the garden, he would need to have feet, and by extension, a body. In addition to his human physique, Lord God has a human

Within the story, his weaknesses seemed to overpower the significance of the strengths. The one attribute that stood out the most on each side of the spectrum was his love to please God and his jealousy created by not receiving the same love from God. I believe that it is significant that Cain s weaknesses are shown in the story. It proves a case where most humans can find relatable and tell of a similar experience, granted that they are not banished and have to live out a life of suffering. Out of all the characters from the Hebrew Bible, the noblest seemed to be Noah. This is because of his legendary actions of saving two of each animal species

Historians believe Edward Teach s original name was Edward Drummond and that he later changed it to Teach after he became a true pirate. However, there is some mystery that surrounds his real name. There are records showing that he sometimes went by Thatch, Tach, Tatch, and Tash. These names could very well be an alias just as much as the next. With all of these names, Edward Teach was most commonly known as Blackbeard, and that is how he is remembered in history. Blackbeard received his nickname from his long, black, gruff looking beard that covered most of his face. He never trimmed his beard, and because of this, it grew down to his chest and was very bushy. During raids, he would braid his long hair and beard and tie slow burning, hemp fuses to the ends of his beard. He would light the fuses during battle to make his head look like it were on fire, giving him a very scary look. The effect was terrifying. His face, with its fierce eyes and matted hair, was wreathed in smoke, and he looked to his prey like a fiend from hell (Botting, Douglas В– The Pirates). Blackbeard s background, like that of most pirates, is obscure (Botting, Douglas В– The Pirates). However, it is believed that Black bead was born in Bristol, England around 1680. Contrary to popular belief, some people believe that he was born in Virginia or Jamaica, but history books recognize Bristol as his home. It is

Dganit Alma Goldberg 3 AP United States History 18 August 2017 Summer Assignment Many groups around the world are culturally and economically altered by other people and events. Before 1750, the British and the Spanish were infinitely changed because of their interactions with the Indians of North America. These two groups began exploring the New World due to the glorified idea that there was an abundance of spices, silk, and wealth. The British and the Spanish ventured into the New World looking for new land, new goods, and new beginnings. Initially the Spanish explorers, such as Columbus, Cortes and Onate, made huge strides in finding a route to the New World. Five years later, the British discovered the New World five years later. The British encountered many Indian tribes and believed that by distancing themselves from these tribes, they could create a purely English society in North America. Contrary to the British, the Spanish enslaved the Indians and ruled over them in order to get what they wanted. The Spanish attempted to spread their culture and rule the Indians while gaining economic prosperity from the mined gold and silver. The British, on the other hand, tried isolating their culture from the Indians while gaining economic prosperity by using the Indians agricultural assistance. The British were motivated to join this age of exploration because of their desire to colonize. Before the British could expand and settle into new lands, England needed an internal

The most simple answer to why it is important to understand the way people lived in the past is that we can t truly know ourselves until we understand where we came from. This essay will analyze the exhibit to show what it s telling us and why it is so important. To start, a main focus in the exhibit is the Egyptians old burial rituals. It is widely known that the Egyptians used to mummify the dead. The exhibit not only displays these mummies, but it also displays what they were buried with. The objects buried in the tomb with the body are known to be for the afterlife of the person who is buried. These objects in the exhibit, along with the mummy and it s sarcophagus, included vessels for food and water, canopic jars for the organs of the mummy, along with jewelry and figurines of the gods and goddesses of Egypt. Also, the plaques on the inside of the exhibit s walls read descriptions of ancient Egyptian beliefs and why some of the goods were buried with the mummy. There s plenty of activities do when the snow is falling, like building a snowman, having a fun and friendly snowball fight, making countless snow angels, sledding, and so much more! However, in areas that snow and reach bitterly coldtemperatures like Columbia it s important to dress your kids properly. Whether you have an infant, toddler, or school aged child, you ll want to ensure they have warm enough clothing so that they can enjoy the snow and avoid a mid sledding meltdown. If you plan on enjoying the snow and participating in winter activities with your children follow these simple tips to ensure your child is warm and enjoying the fun! Add some layers Spending most of the day outside, you and your child will be active. Dressing your child in layers is essential for keeping your child comfortable. Plus, throughout the day, temperatures can fluctuate. However, you can maintain your child s comfort by simply adding or removing a layer based on the weather. When the temperatures drop and the wind chill rises, consider dressing your child with the common three layer technique in mind: Base Layer A base layer is the layer of clothing that sits closest to the skin and is generally meant to be a form of insulation. This can be a thick long sleeve shirt and sweatpants or thermal underwear. In addition, part of the base layer is the socks. You ll want to select a brand of socks that are breathable and that will keep your kids feet warm throughout the day. Wool is an excellent fiber to use for base layers both socks and the under clothing and will help keep moisture away. Middle Layer The mid layer can be as simple as a hoodie or a sweatshirt. The middle layer is meant to provide some extra insulation when outside, but also provides enough comfort to be worn indoors while taking a break to eat lunch or sip delicious hot chocolate. Outside Layer When being active outside, the outer layer is very important for your kids. The outside layer should consist of good quality snow pants and boots, as well as a warm winter jacket. The type of outside layers needed can depend on what

Over the years there have been many attempts to reproduce the authentic sound quality of his instruments, but no one has ever been able to achieve this goal. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Stradivari was actually well in touch with the results of other impressive instruments that had been constructed before his. He was able to gain experience by comparing the many instruments built by the early Brescian and Cremonese makers by deducing from them the aspects that made them unfavorable and applying these aspects to his own creative works. Every generation has contributed something to the construction of musical instruments, and Stradivari combined these centuries of contributions to create something astounding that opened up a new chapter in history. While it is a known fact that Stradivari got a lot of inspiration from previous violinmakers (Visconti, who is a well known violinist, is said to have given advice to this master of violin construction), people insist that he was a natural born genius, so much so that he has been claimed to be a superhuman . Based on scientific principles, many different works have been written based on the unsurpassed tonal qualities found in his instruments. However, there has also been a daily study of Stradivari s works that were compared to those of the craftsmen who came before him. When put to the test it was found that the density of the bellies and backs of Stradivari s instruments were made based on the principles of Gasparo, in addition to the result of a gradual progression, which Maggini and Amatis had in common with him. Those who have examined his work have noted that Stradivari adjusted the thickness of his instruments, but there is no indication that he used any principles as a guide other than what has been derived from the practices of his forerunners. Stradivari left the backs and bellies of his instruments a little thinner (or stouter), with their backs displaying a larger variation than their

According to this view it is this kind of intuitive knowledge that grounds the possibility of certain knowledge. Skeptics, on the other hand, attacked the very notion of intuitive knowledge, either rejecting it, or, such as the more moderate ones, restricting its application to specific domains, e.g., mathematics. My main contention is that skeptical arguments, which were mainly arguments purporting to establish limits to knowledge, opened the way to the consideration of language as an alternative to mind s intuitive powers in man s access to reality. Linguistic representation became important as a way of avoiding some of the main problems affecting mental representation. I intend to concentrate here on one specific septic argument known as the maker s knowledge argument, stating that we can only know what we create. My hypothesis is that the philosophical interest in language can be understood in many cases as a result of an interpretation of language as man s creation and therefore as part of the maker s knowledge tradition. Two related questions are central to this analysis: (1) How Descartes and the Cartesians (such as the authors of the Port Royal Logic) considered language and its role in the philosophical

The remaining energy after materials absorption is recorded on a film detector as expressed by intensity (I) that means energy per area and time. For example, the flat panel detector consists of a pixel array... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scattering has increased chance to occur with the use of larger detectors resulting in streak artefacts during reconstruction of the CBCT image (90). Additionally, beam hardening happens as the energy levels of polychromatic X ray beams used with the CBCT are not uniform, so the lower energy photons can be absorbed easily at the edges of the scanned area causing hardening of the X ray beam, which resulting in lower gray values toward the subject center causing what is called cup¬ping artifact even if the density all over the subject is identical (91) Ring artifacts caused by defects or un calibrated components in the detector forming concentric rings in the CBCT im¬age. Environmentalism and the changes needed to be made to support it are none other than liberal perspectives. As, conservatives, such as blue collar workers and oil companies, are afraid and threatened by new legislation to protect the environment. So naturally, the conservatives oppose such changes in order to continue their operations and not succumb to new environmental measures. This idea is found within the erstwhile Grand Canyon Campaign, in which The Sierra Clubcompromised with the Bureau of Reclamation in order to save the Grand Canyon from flooding. Though, the bureau still got their power in terms of coal power plants. However, the liberal agenda can be identified most apparently within the various acts of legislation the pushed through to get passed. The Sierra Club s political program is dedicated to electing clean air, clean water and climate action champions at all levels of government (Funk Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia 2016). These Acts dealing with air, water, and other subjects like endangered species, has led to various implementation of regulation within society. The idea of regulations are more liberal as they trust in the government to help take action with these acts rather than a conservatism view in which they believe the government should not be so intrusive. However, despite The Sierra Clubs political spectrum, it is

Wedding Anniversaries And Traditional Gift Materials It s customary for married couples to celebrate their wedding anniversaries and tradition states that there are certain types of gifts that are appropriate to give for each anniversary. These gifts traditionally represent materials that symbolize a marriage built in strength. If you ve been invited to party for a couple celebrating a major wedding anniversary, use this following list of traditional gift materials coupled with updated gift ideas and you ll be certain to wow the celebrating couple. First Anniversary. The first wedding anniversary is associated with paper. You could give a card, of course, or you could push the envelope a little bit (quite literally, in fact) with a stationary set customized with the couple s initials. If that s too intimate, opt for a decorative pillow with some sort of inscription of love of heart on it. Third Anniversary. Leather is the custom for this one. • 36. Functionalist Perspective On Crime The functionalism perspective is established on the contributions made by Emile Durkheim. According to functionalism, society is a whole of correlative that work together to care for a state of equilibrium. For instance, a family makes available circumstances for reproducing, and sustenance; political affairs support a method of commanding members of society; and religion adds honest advice and an outlet for church service. Functionalists use the words functional and dysfunctional to depict the result of social environment on society. A few features of society can be functional and dysfunctional. Case in point, crime is dysfunctional and is united with physical violence, misplace of possessions, and anxiety. In line with Durkheim and other functionalists, crime is additionally functional for society because it guides to intense knowledge of shared ethical connections and greater social union. The conflict perspective explains different appearances of our social world by looking at which groups have ability and can profit from a specific social agreement. The basis of the conflict perspective can be found from the work of Karl Marx. Marx proposed that all societies go through levels of financial development. The disconnection of society into two wide classes of people the haves and the have nots is helpful to the owners creating goods. Marx mentioned that religion be of use as a drug of the public and that it calms the anxiety and affliction connected with the

Mark Synoptic Gospel The Synoptic Puzzle and the Authority of the Gospel of Mark The literary relationship between the Synoptic Gospels of the New Testament has intrigued Bible scholars for centuries. The arrangement of the Gospels, their content, and their portraits of Jesus offer something unique and create three books to be read independently of each other. Upon close examination, however, a wealth of evidence exists to prove that Mark was written first. The two source hypothesis demonstrates the influence Mark had on the authors of Matthew and Luke, and the subsequent Gospels they wrote. In terms of structure, one could conclude based on a fleeting observation that Mark was written first because it is the shortest of the three Synoptic Gospels. It would make more sense for the authors of Matthew and Luke to expand on the writings of Mark, rather than for Mark to reduce or eliminate what was already written in Matthew and Luke. Both Matthew and Luke conclude with hopeful endings, in which Jesus declares his eternal companionship ( I am with you always, to the end of the age (Matt. 28:20)) and ascends to heaven (Luke 24:50 53). • 38. The Definition Of Marriage And Family Relationships Essay What is the definition of marriage in the Bible? Better yet what is the definition of family in the Bible? In Scripture there are many families which could be studied in order to better answer this question, but some of the most prominent choices are Abraham s family, David s family, and Solomon s family. Each of these families in turn had their own sets of issues and problems, but there are also Biblical solutions to these problems which shall be address through the course of this paper. But, before this is done it is important to take note of what God s definitions are. To begin, I will start by explaining what my understanding of marriage and family relationships according to scripture are supposed to look like. Now, throughout both the Old Testament and New Testament many commandments are given to both children and parents. For instance, one of the most obvious commands given to children was, Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you, (Ex. 20:12, New International Version (NIV)). To honor someone means to treat him or her with respect and put them in a place of high esteem. Honor and respect means a child should not speak back to their parents, they should not curse out their parents in any way, and in general they should respect their parents wishes. But, going further than this Colossians 3:20 says, Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord, (Col. 3:20, NIV). Children

The foundation version of PPP was based on the assumption that identical goods should trade at the same price across countries when valued in terms of a common currency. This is known as the law of one price and derived from the no arbitrage assumption (Dornbush, 1985; Taylor and Taylor, 2004; CFA, 2015). Absolute PPP is the extended version of the law of one price with all goods and services consumed in different countries instead of one single good (CFA, 2015). Absolute PPP is expressed as ( ). The absolute PPP asserts that the current spot rate is determined by the ratio of national price levels, although like the one price theory struggles in actual application (Alba and Papell, 2007; Alessandria, and Kaboski, 2011). An example of the average price for a Big Mac was $4.79 in January 2015 in the US whereas at market exchange rate in China it was only $2.77, showing that China yuan is undervalued compared to US dollar. This has reduced the Absolute PPP s usefulness as the theory of exchange rate determination. On the other hand, the Relative and Ex Ante PPP implies that exchanged rate between two countries is affected by their inflation rates and expressed as (CFA, 2015). In the long run, the relative PPP predicts that countries with a low inflation rate have currency s that tend to appreciate and conversely with countries that have a high inflation rate; and the % change in exchange rate will equal the % difference in national inflation rates (Baffes, 1991; Taylor and Taylor, 2004). Although shot term, nominal exchange rates could be volatile but over the long run will tend to gravitate toward PPP equilibrium values (Yotopoulos and Sawada, 2006; Papell and Prodan, 2006). The benefits that come from this document, is its ability to provide a guidance for responding to a number of possible problems, such as bad weather, hacking of digital information, interruption of third party services, etc. Consequently, this framework will help organizations prevent huge financial losses, sensitive data, and other important assets (Martin, B. 2002). There are no limits to who or the specification of how many individuals should be involved in the creation of a disaster recovery plan. From IT personnel to managers, or people who belong to certain departments who perhaps play an important role in decision making. The idea of a continuity plan is to touch or address every aspect of possible losses, and solutions. However, in order to be precise in the development of these plans, it is recommended to have these people assigned to a disaster recovery team (Myers, K.

Washkansky s Transplantation Case Study At 12:50 am on Sunday, December 3rd, 1967, Washkansky was taken into the operating room, anaesthetised and ready to be prepped for transplantation by Christiaan Barnard. Barnard made an incision, opened Washkansky chest, and began inserting cannulas (a thin tube inserted into a vein or body cavity to administer medicine, drain off fluid, or insert a surgical instrument) which are necessary for the heartlung machine. Meanwhile, Denise Darvall was in another operating room being prepped for transplant by Marius Barnard. She had an artificial respirator to help her breathe and to keep her alive. At 2:20 am, a message was sent to Marius that Washkansky was ready for the operation and Marius then switched off Denise s artificial respirator. Twelve minutes later, Denise Darvall s heart stopped As soon as Darvall s heart stopped, the surgical team made an incision, opened up her chest and connected her to a heart lung machine. This cooled her blood to preserve her organs. Christiaan Barnard then cut through the major vessels of Denise s heart, removed it, and placed the immaculate organ into a sterile dish that was filled with cold preserving solution at 10 degrees centigrade. Next, the heart was carried next door, where Louis Washkansky was prepped and ready. It was then immediately supplied with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 54. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
