Water Purification Essay
Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants,
suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific
purpose. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water), but water purification may
also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including meeting the requirements of medical,
pharmacological, chemical and industrial applications. In general the methods used include physical
processes such as filtration, sedimentation, and distillation, biological processes such as slow sand
filters or biologically active carbon, chemical processes such asflocculation and chlorination and the
use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most deep groundwater does not need screening before other purification steps. 3. Storage Water from
rivers may also be stored in bankside reservoirs for periods between a few days and many months to
allow natural biological purification to take place. This is especially important if treatment is by slow
sand filters. Storage reservoirs also provide a buffer against short periods of drought or to allow water
supply to be maintained during transitory pollutionincidents in the source river. 4. Pre chlorination In
many plants the incoming water was chlorinated to minimize the growth of fouling organisms on the
pipe work and tanks. Because of the potential adverse quality effects (see chlorine below), this has
largely been discontinued.[3]
Widely varied techniques are available to remove the fine solids, micro organisms and some dissolved
inorganic and organic materials. The choice of method will depend on the quality of the water being
treated, the cost of the treatment process and the quality standards expected of the processed water.
[edit]pH adjustment
Pure water has a pH close to 7 (neither alkaline nor acidic). Sea water can have pH values that range
from 7.5 to 8.4 (moderately alkaline). Fresh water can have widely ranging pH values depending on
the geology of the drainage basin or aquifer and the influence of contaminant inputs (acid rain). If the
water is acidic (lower than 7), lime, soda ash, or sodium hydroxide can be added to raise the pH

History of Home Schooling and Public School Education
Education systems have existed since ancient times. Historians claim that there was schooling in
Egypt 5000 years ago. Generally, education is a way of learning skills and information. During the
Medieval Ages religious schools, where children learned religion and some sciences as philosophy,
literature, astronomy and mathematics, were more popular. But the wide use of schools is related to
the development of society in XIX century. Nowadays, these schools are called public schools and
they provide education to all children. After a while, parents and students found some negative sides
of traditional schooling system. They searched for alternative education systems to evade problems. In
the world practice these two systems diverse in several criteria, such as learning conditions and
resources. However, they have common points in benefits of the two education systems.
The most notable difference is learning conditions. While being home schooled, students often study
individually. They are isolated from the society and have lack of interaction with other students. Some
home schooled students participate in social activities and in field trips. In these activities students
share similar and common ideas. Also, they learn, research and improve their skills themselves.
Moreover, in some cases their tutors are not professional in teaching methods, as it is not an important
condition in education system. According to Michael H. Romanowski, Ph. D. of Miami University,

Tiling Research Paper
The topic of my essay is tiling. I chose this because I really enjoyed geometry when I took it, and I
wanted to gain a more in depth knowledge of tessellation. Tiling as an art form also fascinates me, so
when I found M.C. Escher s work during my research for this topic I knew this one would be right for
me. Learning how drastically a curved image represented on a non curved medium is changed never
seemed as real to me in sixth grade geography as it did when learning that the image below is
comprised completely of regular pentagons.
In this exploration, I would like to learn more about how shapes tessellate. I will learn which shapes,
regular and irregular, tile on a Euclidean plane, and how tessellations work on a hyperbolic plane. I
will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All quadrilaterals do, too, for the same reasons triangles do. Since triangles are essentially half of a
quadrilateral, the angles of a quadrilateral always add up to 360. This means that no matter what sort
you choose rhombus, trapezoid, or just a run of the mill square it will tessellate.
When it comes to the tessellation of pentagons, however, things are not so cut and dry. A regular
pentagon will not tessellate, as each of its angles is 108, and 108 x 5=540, meaning five pentagons
would not be able to join at one point. Four pentagons would also be too large to perfectly meet at a
vertex, as 108 x 4=432, and three pentagons would not be large enough, as 108 x 3=324; close, but no
cigar.
However, there are fifteen types of irregular pentagons that have been found to tile the plane. These
classes of pentagons were discovered at different times, and below is a table containing the formula
for some of them. ∠A E denote an angle, and just simply A E denotes a side. The formulas have
different equalities, with certain angles equalling each other so as to properly make angle amounts that
factor into the 360 needed for tiling, and with different sides being equal or proportional to each other
so as to facilitate the shape being right for

Analysis Of The Play Murder At The Mic
When an arrogant musician is killed on stage everyone becomes a suspect.
STORY COMMENTS
MURDER AT THE MIC presents as a classic murder mystery with the ultimate question: who did it?
Everyone loves a good mystery. The goal is clear and the stakes are fairly high. The play offers a cast
of offbeat characters, betrayal, secrets, a twist, and a very ironic and delightful ending.
There s definitely a lot to like about the play, but with that said, there s room for additional
development.
The opening introduces most of the core characters. Greg is clearly the main character that the play
centers on. Greg s first words shitty nicely conveys his personality. Essentially, Greg is supposed to be
a shitty guy. He seems to have little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The idea of the video camera works well too. There s a nice cat and mouse exchange between the
detective and the usual suspects.
The reveal that the detective is really the video guy makes for a good twist that the audience doesn t
see coming. However, consider the idea that once his wig falls off and they realize who the detective
really he, that they try to turn the tables on Hickman and accuse him of being the person sabotaging
the switch and killing Greg. Thus, it s at this point that he makes the reveal that Greg is still alive.
When Greg is revealed to be alive make sure he s condensing to each of the other characters to make
the delightful ending twist work even more effectively when they all conspire to kill him.
The ending is a lot of fun, but with that said, the overall humor could be elevated. It s not the type of
play that has laugh out loud moments. The tone is a bit ambiguous. Prior to the death, the tone feels
dramatic. However, as the play progresses, it feels more like a dark comedy, which is very fitting for
this type of mystery. While humor is subjective, stronger dark comedy with wittier lines of dialogue
would really make this play shine.
Greg feels cocky and entitled. As mentioned, there s room to enhance this. His motivation for the ruse
feels a bit unclear. He says it s for a music video.
This doesn t feel like a strong enough motivation. One wonders if he should tell the

Tarmageddon Rhetorical Analysis Essay A good and successful article is an article that is logically
organized and does not disrupt the flow of thought and content that is provided in the piece of work as
well as a good writing style which keeps the reader engaged throughout their read. The author Andrew
Nikiforuk has created a nice and logical structure within his article. He starts by stating how
Europeans felt towards Canada before and continues by explaining what has changed their stance
towards Canada. He then leads on by describing oil and the specifics of the oil Canada is refining
while noting its problems along the way while recounting how Canada changed, explaining why those
changes transpired. Towards the end ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(PARAGRAPH 8, PAGE 212) Another example is where the author states, it takes 12 barrels of steam
to melt one barrel of Bitumen . He doesn t only include relevant details about the oil; he also provides
important details about the government officials who do not take this issue seriously. (PARAGRAPH
16, PAGE 212) He does not suddenly make a blunt claim that the Prime minister doesn t take notice of
the problem at hand. Instead he gives us important background information son of imperial oil
executive which is the reason behind the Prime minister s negligence towards the oil problem. All of
the facts and reasons that the author uses to support his article shows us that he isn t trying to benefit
from the power of emotion because he knows that emotions are unstable, he plans to use the power of
logic and reason which have much more stability and validity to rally support from his fellow readers.
In addition to the appealing to the audience s reason the author uses an informative writing style in
this article to inform his audience of the issue at hand and its consequences if it isn t handled
appropriately and increase the article s effectiveness consequentially. He doesn t narrate a story nor
does he state his personal opinion anywhere in his work. He solely relies on the information he has

Human Performance And Commercial Aircraft Accidents
Human error has been acknowledged as a main contributor to more than 70 percent of commercial and
private aircraft accidents. While characteristically connected with flight procedures, human error has
also recently become a main concern in maintenance practices and air traffic management. Human
factors specialists work with engineers, pilots, and mechanics to apply the latest information about the
interface between human performance and commercial aircraft to help operators develop safety and
efficiency in their daily operations.
About 80 percent of maintenance errors comprise of human factors, according to the Federal Aviation
Administration. The maintenance realm has exceptional human factors matters that are more severe
and longer lasting than elsewhere in aviation. Operators are considering numerous procedures to
combat human factors challenges.
Human factors are endless catchphrases in maintenance operations. Although human factors
maintenance training is not strictly required in the U.S., many U.S. maintenance organizations have
accepted it because they see regulation in the near future, want to conform to the regulations
elsewhere or merely accept the business example.
Why are human conditions, such as fatigue, complacency and distraction, so important? As one expert
put it, if you scratch the surface of a maintenance incident, you re likely to find human factors
concerns. About 80 percent of maintenance mistakes involve human factors, according to Bill
Johnson, the

The Memory Interference Test ( Mit )
The Memory Interference Test (MIT) is a computerized experiment that gauges the cognitive
functioning of undergraduate students through visual or auditory prompts to test memory. The MIT is
particularly used to test patient s memory in situations where a brain injury is in question, the results
in performance are compared to standardized scores of their peers. There is an inverse relationship
between the amount of memory target items and performance: as the number of items the subject was
exposed to increased their performance significantly decreased (Komori 2016). Does previous expose
to the MIT and thus previous exposure to other target items account for the decrease in number of
correct items? Using a sample size of 10,090 the study examines the relationship between
performance and if the subject has had previous exposure to an MIT. The alternative hypothesis that
there is a statistically significant difference in the number of correct picture items and if it was the
subjects first MIT attempt, which directly contradicts the null hypothesis that there is no difference in
the number of correct picture items and wether or not it was the first MIT preformed.
Materials and Methods The MIT does not measure intelligence, rather the subjects memory and does
so through three different cognitive assessments: picture memory (PMIT), auditory memory (AMIT)
and word memory (WMIT). One of the three neuro cognitive tests is preformed, the PMIT flashes a
picture, the AMIT flashes

Dashing Dreams, Raising Realism
Dashing Dreams, Raising Realism Everyone is told that they can be anyone they want to be, be
anything they want to be, and go anywhere they want to go. I took this to heart and determined that I
would go to my dream college, Washington University in St. Louis, and become an astounding author
with an English degree to be proud of. However, I knew that I might need a backup college, and I
settled upon Kansas University. Although the choice between the two originally seemed clear to me,
after doing extensive research, my views were quickly morphed. While most people would chase after
their dream college, I have found that facing reality, and choosing the so called backup college, is by
far the better choice. Education has always been my primary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While going to a noteworthy school is delightful, the magnificence of the school comes at a price.
While Washington University is one of the best colleges in the country, they are known to be
extremely expensive. Not only that, but their scholarships are much harder to obtain. In addition, even
before trying to repay loans, tuition there costs about twice as much as going to Kansas University.
When paying off student loans, even with scholarships, students may find themselves paying around
77,000 dollars more than their original loan balance of around 180,000 dollars. Conversely, Kansas
University is much cheaper, allowing good students to take out a loan of less than 100,000 dollars.
Additionally, obtaining scholarships from Kansas University is much easier than trying for one at
Washington University. Future students from in state such as myself will find themselves having to
pay less tuition and travel costs. Although Washington University may be nicer, its ridiculous prices
make it a worse alternative to the much more affordable Kansas University. I always dreamed of
attending the glorious Washington University in St. Louis, but when doing concrete research, I found
that Kansas University may be a better alternative. Their educations vary little, but Kansas University
s social environment is much less competitive. In addition, Washington University offers a much

A Brief Report On Tianjin Plastics Essay
Tianjin Plastics were undertaken as project finance ventures. Project financing is a way in which large
standalone investments may be financed from their own assets and cash flows, without recourse from
the assets of the equity holders themselves. Project financing is the primary method was taking for the
massive infrastructure investment throughout many places such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia, the
Philippines, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and other emerging economies. However, despite that the
complexity of project finance (because they were detailed agreements that require thousands of pages
of documentation), was extremely uncomfortable with the problems posed by the Tianjin proposal.
Political:
In the past three decades, project finance has contained some of the largest individual investments,
including: British Petroleum s financing of its interests in the North Sea (totaling $972 million in
1972); the Trans Alaska Pipeline, a joint venture between Standard Oil of Ohio, Atlantic Richfield,
Exxon, British Petroleum, Mobil Oil, Phillips Petroleum, Union Oil, and Amerada Hess (1978). Each
of these investments represent capital expenditures that exceed the ability of a single firm to finance.
However, through a joint venture arrangement, the higher risks more than normal that absorbed by the
capital employed could be managed.
Legal:
The China project was established as an individual legal entity, and it separates from the legal and

Gunpowder Essay
The Western military trajectory finds many of the impetuses for a military revolution stemming from
non Western stimuli. Innovations such as the composite bow (introduced by the Hyksos), cavalry
(accredited to Assyria and Persia), the stirrup (attributed to China), gunpowder (China), crossbow
(China), and cannons (China) have been attributed to non Western regions; however, it is the Western
militaries that exploited these innovations to their full deadly potential and in the process created
military revolutions. This paper will discuss how some of these exploitations affected the Western
military trajectory during the Gunpowder and First Industrial Revolutions, most often leaving the non
Western militaries lagging behind. It will also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The French invasion of Italy was not only an early part of the Gunpowder Revolution and the
beginning of the modern age of warfare, but it was one of the first attempts at building nation states.
At the time, Italy was divided into several city states, sovereign regions formed by a city and its
surrounding territories. Due to the small size of many city states, their defense was turned over to
mercenary captains, condottieri. The paid men who formed compagnie (companies) under the
condottieri were most often foreigners who lacked loyalty to their paymasters. On the other hand, as
France expanded and took over city states such as Armagnac, Burgundy, Provence, Anjou, and
Brittany, they would become a part the French nation and its military. As such, King Charles VIII
became the leader of the most powerful state in Europe by advancing the nation state instead of city
states. Nearly one and a half centuries later, Swedish King Gustavus II Adolphus would further
advance the French artillery techniques and make modern modifications to the formation and
maneuver of his troops during the Battle of Breitenfeld in 1631 against Count Johann Tilly, an
Imperial commander. Tilly formed his forces in seventeen tercios, large formation of pikemen and
musketeers fifty men abreast and thirty men deep. This formation was deadly for everything in its

Changes in Web Standards
Throughout the last decade web developers have been experiencing changes in Web Standards as well
as a different markup language called HTML5. HTML5 a markup language used for structuring and
presenting content for the World Wide Web. HTML, or Hyper Text Markup Language forms the
backbone of almost every site on the internet. The most important technologies right now are HTML
and devices evolving HTML platforms (Anglin). Although HTML5 is the most recent updated markup
language today, it has many advantages and disadvantages when it comes to web development.
HTML4, the last major iteration of the language, debuted in 1997 and has been subsequently poked
and prodded so that it can handle the demands of the modern Web (O Brien). In order for web
developers to fully understand the meaning behind HTML5, throughout this article I will be
discussing why HTML5 is such a big deal, what it can actually do, the many advantages and
disadvantages, the benefits that favor HTML5, and arguments it has for the web today. Have you ever
found yourself rolling your eyes when a web designer or developer talked to you about HTML5, I
completely understand. So why is HTML5 such a big deal in web development today? As it turns out,
it really is something that s exciting and better and could really be worth investing into for your next
Web site project. HTML4 has been tweaked, stretched and augmented beyond its initial scope to bring

Positive Aspects Of Becoming A President
If I were to become president, right when I get into office, I would do is make some adjustments to

for books and admission. Second, I would try to get private schools to not pay so much, and since
most private or charter schools manufacture their own clothes, I would also try to get them to not
make the guardian pay so much for them. The very next thing I would do is I would set up multiple
stations in every state for kids and adults to come to and get food and or shelter. Then I would hire

Science of Tea
There doesn t seem to be a downside to tea, American Dietetic Association
Black, white and green tea are all made from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, and although they
undergo different processing each tea contains significant amounts of catechins. Catechins are a type
of disease fighting flavonoid and antioxidant that help to fight off cellular damage in the body.
The magic health ingredient in teas is polyphenols and how much you ingest is relative to the
fermentation level used in their fermentation processing. In order of levels of polyphenols black teas
are lowest, Oolong teas are next, with green and white teas having the highest levels polyphenols.

Controversies In Youth Sports
The Controversies in Youth Travel Teams Participation in youth sports in the United States is on the
rise. Organized youth sports are highly popular for youth and their families, with approximately 45
million children and adolescent participants in the US (Merkel, 2013). There are many benefits for
children that can be attributed to sports such as: physical activity, learning motor skills, sense of
belonging, stress relief, and many more. With childhood obesity on the rise recreational sports has
never been needed more than it is today. Over the past three decades, the incidence of obesity in
children has tripled, with one of every three children being affected (Merkel, 2013). Obesity has many
long term health problems related to it such as: diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure cancer,
asthma. We can attribute this health problem to changes in our society over like increased technology,
increased crime rates, fast food and isolated suburban neighborhoods. Sports and other physical
activities are needed to keep children from causing further damaged to their future.
However, the days of simply playing ball with your friends are over. It is a different world for young
athletes. Sports at a young age should be fun and a great source of physical activity. Yet, many

Political Changes In The Progressive Era
The history of the United States shows an improvement in its civilization from its origin to the
present. From the independence of the U.S. to the Civil Rights Movement. However, the biggest
change occurred during the Progressive Era; a time period where new ways of thinking started to
develop towards a more fair country. The social aspect had the biggest impact followed by political
changes and some economical. The first political change happened when the muckrakers decided that
the political parties were corrupt and people in the business industry had too much saying in what the
government did. For that reason the muckrakers decided to go against the railroads, the primary

John B Watson s Little Albert Experiment
Stage 1 Psychology
John B Watson and Rosalie Rayner and Little Albert Experiment
Ethics are guidelines that differentiate between right and wrong behaviour. It defines what is good and
what is bad in terms of human behaviour, therefore being ethical means doing what society accepts.
Ethics in research are important because a being s safety and rights can be harmed without it. (Deakin,
2015) Ethics is important in psychology in order to protect participants and the reputation of
psychology and psychologists. (Velasquez, 2010) The guidelines help minimise harm towards those

Number one Respect the dignity and wellbeing of participants and number two Ensure that research is
designed to maximise any benefits to participants and society, and to minimise risks of possible harm
or discomfort . The dignity and wellbeing of Albert were not respected during this experiment as they
did not decondition him, therefore he may have been emotionally or psychologically harmed.
(DeAngelis, 2010) Number four Obtain voluntary written consent and number nine Respect the right
of individuals not to participate or to withdraw from the research at any time without explanation ,
Watson did not seek permission from Albert or his mother, and therefore no written consent was
retrieved. Albert was unable to withdraw and the withdrawal rights were not explained to his mother.
(Wikispaces, 2014) Watson did not protect personal information because he published the results of
the experiment without ensuring Little Albert would remain anonymous, therefore breaching the fifth
and seventh guideline. (Bandiera, 2015)
This experiment could be redone in a more ethical way with the current ethical guidelines. However,
the whole experiment is unethical as Watson uses a young child for his experiment. Even if we used
animals it is still unethical and inaccurate. Watson could have informed the Albert s mother that she
could withdraw from the experiment

Children s Rights And Rights
7.7Right of the children:
7.7.1Personal life:
Children s rights recognize fundamental guarantees to all human beings: the right to life, the non
discrimination principle, the right to dignity through the protection of physical and mental integrity
(protection against slavery, torture and bad treatments, etc.)Children s rights are civil and political
rights, such as the right to identity, the right to a nationality, etc.Children s rights are economic, social
and cultural rights, such as the right to education, the right to a decent standard of living, the right to
health, Children s rights include individual rights, the right to live with his parents, the right to
education, the right to benefit from a protection, Children s rights include collective rights : rights of
refugee and disabled children s, of minority children or from marginalized groups. For the world to
continue we need this population to survive and attain their rights which are also human rights. One of
the many roles of nurses is an advocate, we should strive to ensure that all right for children s has been
offered and no discrimination of any type.
7.7.2Social context:
Children s rights consider the vulnerable character of the child. They imply the necessity to protect
them. It means to grant a particular assistance to them, and to give a protection adapted to their age
and to their degree of maturity.
So, the children have to be helped and supported and must be protected against labor exploitation,

Deaf People Myth
The first myth that I chose would be that Deaf people cannot contribute to society. Some pieces of
literature that we have read or watched would be the civil war story, Chapter three The camera as
Printing Press, the ABC Story, as well as Hero in ASL. The Civil war story dispels this myth because
it shows the conservation of history; it takes us back in time to the civil war. This story is considered a
piece of history and a Deaf person provided it, this little piece of history will forever be passed on. I
feel that chapter three was a very important chapter throughout this unit. This chapter not only showed
the history and challenges the Deaf community had to surpass, this chapter showed how they got

The third myth I decided to choose was that Deaf people can t have kids. In class, we discussed
Alexander Graham bell and the major negative impact he had throughout the Deaf community. We
learned in our class discussions that Graham bell was a strongly against the Deaf community and
wanted to cure them. We also learned in class that many Deaf students got sterilized in school without
any notice. We watched the PBS Film Through Deaf eyes and saw how all Deaf people in the film
functioned throughout society like everyone else, especially on having and taking care of their
children. Another film we watched was a YouTube video called Visual Alerts, in this video, it showed,
how Deaf people knew what was going on with the use of flashing lights or vibrations. In the video it
showed how a crying baby got the mother the attention of the Deaf mother, the mother would carry a

Rape Culture And Rape Myths
As kids we were taught about stranger danger; we were taught to protect ourselves from strangers and
as we got older, females were told to protect themselves from getting raped. In this paper, I will
discuss how living in a rape culture affects women and men, how does rape myths affect society and
how we can change the negative effects of living in a rape culture and rape myths. In order to
understand this, we must first define what rape is.
Rape is unwanted sexual attentions or actions that are directed to a person. Rape can happen to anyone
but it is most common to happen women. Rape happens to women around the ages of 16 24 and it is
considered to be at the greatest risk of sexual assault (Aronowitz, Lambert, Davidoff 2012). Also 1 in
5 American women survive rape or attempted rape (Maxwell 2014) and 1 in six men are abused before
they reach the age of 18 (Maxwell 2014). Lastly, the victim is most likely to know or be related to
their attacker (Aronwitz, Lambert, Davidoff 2012). As we can see from the data above, rape can
happen to anyone, not just women. Though because everyone has this misconception that rape is only
for women and that women wanted to be raped has created rape myths. Rape myths originate from a
rape culture. A society only becomes a rape culture when rape is prevalent and in which sexual
violence against women is normalized and excused in the media and popular culture ( Rape Culture,
n.d.). The United States is a rape culture because of

(terrior 2013). When talking about the Burgundy wine, we should explore the history of it. Like
Bordeaux blend wine, the history is also related to Ancient Rome. In the Ancient Rome, people from
Augustodunum travelled a very long distance to plant vine along the south slope of the Saone River
Valley. (Cogan 2012) People started to develop skills and technique in making wine and the way to
marketing it. Moreover, this continuing development has built up an international reputation in the
19th century. A few of the most exciting wines in the world come from Burgundy. The region
produces two of the most popular wines in France: Beaujolais and Chablis. (Cogan 2012) As we can
see that the Burgundy Wine is also a very famous type of wine. The region of Burgundy cap in both
red and white wine. Burgundy wine grape is grown in a mixture of limestone and clay. There are two
major grapes that make Burgundy wine, they are Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Like Bordeaux wine,
Burgundy is also known as the king of French Wine The tasting of Burgundy wine is so much
different from the Bordeaux. When tasting the Burgundy, people can feel the perseverance and power,
which is much different from very soft feelings. (Burgundy 2011) When doing comparison with
Bordeaux wine, Burgundy wine is not as famous as Bordeaux wine. The reason for that

Australian Football Field Decision-Making Analysis
CHAPTER ONE INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Australian Football is a unique invasion game comprised of two teams of 22 players per side (36
afield), utilizing many skills (*****back and afl). The combination and display of long kicking, high
marking, tackling and nonstop action make it Australia s number one spectator sport (**** ref) and
separate it from other football sporting codes. The overall aim of the game is to kick a ball between
goal posts positioned at the opposition team s end of the field to score a goal worth 6 points and the
ball can be moved in any direction by hand (handball) and by foot (kick).
The Australian Football League is the elite competition of Australian Football, it is comprised of 18

(Araújo., 2004)
1.3.3 Kick Side
The execution of a kick on a players preferred or non preferred foot is likely to alter the kick technique
and pattern (ball 2011 ref*************). A kick performed on the non preferred foot is typically less
coordinated than that of a preferred foot kick (ball 2011), and is likely to travel a shorter distance and
miss the target.
1.3.4 Kick Source
Kick Source is the method in which a player comes in possession of the ball before performing a kick.
These include, but are not limited to marking the ball, receiving the ball via a handball from either a
team in general play or after a mark and a ground ball. Kick source is likely to have an impact on
accuracy of the resulting kick as it can often be an indication of the scenario and the pressure being
applied. For example a player executing a kick as a result of a stoppage is likely to be under pressure
due to congestion of opposition players in the immediate area.

The Pathophysiology Of Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is a T cell mediated, autoimmune, genetic illness that targets the small intestine in
which the absorption of nutrients, particularly fats, is impaired. The disease has been described as a
permanent intolerance to ingested gluten that damages the small intestine, characteristically inducing
crypt hyperplasia and villous atrophy, and typically resolves with removal of gluten from the diet.
(AJN 34). Celiac disease appears to be more prevalent in women than in men. Genetic and immune
factors are known to play a role in its development. People that have a family member with celiac
disease and people that have autoimmune disorders are at higher risk to develop celiac disease. This
paper outlines the pathophysiology of celiac disease, discusses signs and symptoms, the four disease
types, describes testing, treatment, addresses the differences between gluten free diet and a diet
containing gluten, the use of dietary supplements, and vitamin D status.
Most absorption of nutrients occurs in the small intestine. The mucosa of the small intestine is
arranged in microscopic folds, which in turn contain even smaller finger like projections called villi.
The cells of the villi are covered with microscopic hairs, microvilli, projecting from the cell
membrane. The folds, villi, and microvilli of the intestinal mucosa provide a huge surface area for
nutrient absorption. Cells of the intestines are specialized to absorb different nutrients. Readily
digested nutrients are

`` All Sex, All The Time `` By Theodore Dalrymple
Theodore Dalrymple, in the essay All Sex, All the Time reflects on the change of view of the people
about sex and how it has lead people into more confusion and conflict than before. Dalrymple s real
name being Anthony Daniels, he picked up the pseudonym of Theodore Dalrymple for the purpose of
his essays. There were times when virginity was a pride to men and women. However, it still prevails
in some countries, this custom and the people have been changing. He states that the world is now free
to enjoy sexual pleasures without any fear of the myths and taboos that existed in history. Although
people feel that they are satisfied and are free to choose this path of life, sex has lead people into
confusion, contradiction, and conflict states Dalrymple (Dalrymple 1). Dalrymple takes the chance of
stating how the world will be, in about a hundred years. He thinks that twelve year girls would be in
the streets at night, as prostitutes, where police would be guarding them and health authorities would
come by to distribute condoms to prevent any infections. Then, the common people would be given
instruments to get rid of the condoms in their backyard and gardens. The reason behind this is that
morals are dying; over the years, people have become non judgmental. People feel that being non
judgmental is staying away from people s wishes and letting them do what they like, in their own
ways. Being non judgmental, in this case affects those young girls, the public, the environment

Acute Red Eye Essay
An acute red eye is one of the most common reasons why children present to the pediatrician or adults
present to their primary care physician. Although most cases of acute red eye are caused by self
limiting and benign conjunctivitis, it is important to distinguish when a more serious pathology is
present that may require a non urgent or urgent ophthalmologic referral. A thorough history of the
illness is one of the most important tools that pediatricians have to determine whether the patient can
be treated by the pediatrician or whether an ophthalmologic referral is indicated. A child presenting to
the pediatrician with a red eye could indicate a wide variety of etiologies from infection, trauma,
foreign body, structural disorder, or systemic disease.8 Important aspects of the history to obtain are

sparked an important breakthrough in American journalism. Catching the attention of Post writers Carl

amount that would be hard to raise. Nixon replied, you could get a million dollars. You could get it in
cash. I know where it could be gotten. It is not easy, but it could be done. The president s own words
proved that he was involved with the break in and that he used hush money to keep witnesses silent.
Another tape recording, called the smoking gun , uncovered Nixon s exploitation of the CSI. In the
tape, Nixon plans to have Richard Helms, the Director of the CIA, and Vernon A. Walters, the Deputy
Director of the CIA, call the Director of the CIA, Patrick Gray, and demand that he stop the Watergate

Nixon was charged with obstruction of justice.
Nixon was secondly charged with Abuse of Power (Article II), essentially because of his misuse of
executive personnel (historyplace.com). He used the FBI to harass enemies that he saw as political

Nietzsche s God Is Dead
God is dead is a widely quoted statement by German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. It first appears
in Nietzsche s 1882 collection The Gay Science also translated as The science of joy German: Die
fröhliche Wissenschaft), in sections 108, 125, and for a third time in section 343 . It is also found in
Nietzsche s classic work Thus Spoke Zarathustra, which is most responsible for popularizing the
phrase. The idea is stated in The Madman as follows:
Although the statement and its meaning is attributed to Nietzsche it is important to note that this was
not a unique position as Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel pondered the death of God, first in his
Phenomenology of Spirit where he considers the death of God to not seen as anything but an easily

The Importance Of The Media
With the fantastic spur both in industry and economy in the world, the spread of media is on the rise.
In general, media refers to the implement of mass communication, it consists of newspaper,
magazines, television, the internet and so forth. There is a huge amount of media users around the
world which means the number of audiences is large. As generally acknowledged, nowadays, the
spread of news, entertainment has a rapid speed through the media and mass communication. The
public opinions and thoughts can be easily affected by the spread of media, also, mass communication
of the news media may provide some bias and prejudice of the news. In this sense, to have a powerful
communication tool, the agenda setting theory demonstrates that it is better if shaping the various
news in order to create a moral society (Kiousis and McCombs, 2004). In general, agenda setting
describes the effects of the media on the general public, the ability to choose important issues (Moon
2011, p.699). The sense of agenda setting has been deeply accepted by the public a long time ago. In
1992, Walter Lippmann (1992), a newspaper columnist, argued that the mass media has the ability to
produce images of events that can be present to the public. Since 1948, Lazarsfeld and Metton (1948)
acknowledged that the function of the press to give specific status upon events it emphasizes. Till
1959, Norton Long (Long 1958) also illustrated that media will grasp specific attention from the

1. What clinical findings correlate with M.K. s chronic bronchitis? What type of treatment and

Chronic bronchitis is caused by inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes. These tubes carry
oxygen to and from the alveoli of the lungs.
Clinical findings that correlate with M.K. s chronic bronchitis include:
22 plus years of smoking smoking has been directly linked as one of the number one causes of
Chronic bronchitis/COPD.
Chronic cough with sputum especially in the mornings. A Chronic cough is often one of the initial
symptoms of COPD. It is long term, and can increase in severity as the disease progresses. Sputum or

Light headedness, distended neck veins and peripheral edema The light headedness, distended neck

pulmonary hypertension. The rise in blood pressure in your lungs can be caused by changes in the
cells that line the walls of your pulmonary arteries causing them to become stiff and thickened. The
arteries can also become inflamed and tight. Smoking can be a major contributor to the damage of
these vessels. These changes can reduce or block blood flow through these vessels, thus raising the
pressure. The reduced blood flow through the lungs puts a strain on the right side of the heart. The

Hieroglyph Research Paper
The civilization of the pharaohs went into eclipse more 2000 years ago when it conquered by
Alexander the Great and came under the Hellenistic rule of the Ptolemy dynasty. The word Hieroglyph

which was learned by heart. Whereas Horapollo, in the 4th century AD or later believed that the
hieroglyphs were both fictitious and genuine. During 1419, a manuscript was discovered on a Greek

  • 3. Water Purification Essay Water purification is the process of removing undesirable chemicals, biological contaminants, suspended solids and gases from contaminated water. The goal is to produce water fit for a specific purpose. Most water is purified for human consumption (drinking water), but water purification may also be designed for a variety of other purposes, including meeting the requirements of medical, pharmacological, chemical and industrial applications. In general the methods used include physical processes such as filtration, sedimentation, and distillation, biological processes such as slow sand filters or biologically active carbon, chemical processes such asflocculation and chlorination and the use of electromagnetic radiation such as ultraviolet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most deep groundwater does not need screening before other purification steps. 3. Storage Water from rivers may also be stored in bankside reservoirs for periods between a few days and many months to allow natural biological purification to take place. This is especially important if treatment is by slow sand filters. Storage reservoirs also provide a buffer against short periods of drought or to allow water supply to be maintained during transitory pollutionincidents in the source river. 4. Pre chlorination In many plants the incoming water was chlorinated to minimize the growth of fouling organisms on the pipe work and tanks. Because of the potential adverse quality effects (see chlorine below), this has largely been discontinued.[3] Widely varied techniques are available to remove the fine solids, micro organisms and some dissolved inorganic and organic materials. The choice of method will depend on the quality of the water being treated, the cost of the treatment process and the quality standards expected of the processed water. [edit]pH adjustment Pure water has a pH close to 7 (neither alkaline nor acidic). Sea water can have pH values that range from 7.5 to 8.4 (moderately alkaline). Fresh water can have widely ranging pH values depending on the geology of the drainage basin or aquifer and the influence of contaminant inputs (acid rain). If the water is acidic (lower than 7), lime, soda ash, or sodium hydroxide can be added to raise the pH during ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. History of Home Schooling and Public School Education Education systems have existed since ancient times. Historians claim that there was schooling in Egypt 5000 years ago. Generally, education is a way of learning skills and information. During the Medieval Ages religious schools, where children learned religion and some sciences as philosophy, literature, astronomy and mathematics, were more popular. But the wide use of schools is related to the development of society in XIX century. Nowadays, these schools are called public schools and they provide education to all children. After a while, parents and students found some negative sides of traditional schooling system. They searched for alternative education systems to evade problems. In the world practice these two systems diverse in several criteria, such as learning conditions and resources. However, they have common points in benefits of the two education systems. The most notable difference is learning conditions. While being home schooled, students often study individually. They are isolated from the society and have lack of interaction with other students. Some home schooled students participate in social activities and in field trips. In these activities students share similar and common ideas. Also, they learn, research and improve their skills themselves. Moreover, in some cases their tutors are not professional in teaching methods, as it is not an important condition in education system. According to Michael H. Romanowski, Ph. D. of Miami University, only ten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Tiling Research Paper The topic of my essay is tiling. I chose this because I really enjoyed geometry when I took it, and I wanted to gain a more in depth knowledge of tessellation. Tiling as an art form also fascinates me, so when I found M.C. Escher s work during my research for this topic I knew this one would be right for me. Learning how drastically a curved image represented on a non curved medium is changed never seemed as real to me in sixth grade geography as it did when learning that the image below is comprised completely of regular pentagons. In this exploration, I would like to learn more about how shapes tessellate. I will learn which shapes, regular and irregular, tile on a Euclidean plane, and how tessellations work on a hyperbolic plane. I will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All quadrilaterals do, too, for the same reasons triangles do. Since triangles are essentially half of a quadrilateral, the angles of a quadrilateral always add up to 360. This means that no matter what sort you choose rhombus, trapezoid, or just a run of the mill square it will tessellate. When it comes to the tessellation of pentagons, however, things are not so cut and dry. A regular pentagon will not tessellate, as each of its angles is 108, and 108 x 5=540, meaning five pentagons would not be able to join at one point. Four pentagons would also be too large to perfectly meet at a vertex, as 108 x 4=432, and three pentagons would not be large enough, as 108 x 3=324; close, but no cigar. However, there are fifteen types of irregular pentagons that have been found to tile the plane. These classes of pentagons were discovered at different times, and below is a table containing the formula for some of them. ∠A E denote an angle, and just simply A E denotes a side. The formulas have different equalities, with certain angles equalling each other so as to properly make angle amounts that factor into the 360 needed for tiling, and with different sides being equal or proportional to each other so as to facilitate the shape being right for ... • 6. Analysis Of The Play Murder At The Mic When an arrogant musician is killed on stage everyone becomes a suspect. STORY COMMENTS MURDER AT THE MIC presents as a classic murder mystery with the ultimate question: who did it? Everyone loves a good mystery. The goal is clear and the stakes are fairly high. The play offers a cast of offbeat characters, betrayal, secrets, a twist, and a very ironic and delightful ending. There s definitely a lot to like about the play, but with that said, there s room for additional development. The opening introduces most of the core characters. Greg is clearly the main character that the play centers on. Greg s first words shitty nicely conveys his personality. Essentially, Greg is supposed to be a shitty guy. He seems to have little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The idea of the video camera works well too. There s a nice cat and mouse exchange between the detective and the usual suspects. The reveal that the detective is really the video guy makes for a good twist that the audience doesn t see coming. However, consider the idea that once his wig falls off and they realize who the detective really he, that they try to turn the tables on Hickman and accuse him of being the person sabotaging the switch and killing Greg. Thus, it s at this point that he makes the reveal that Greg is still alive. When Greg is revealed to be alive make sure he s condensing to each of the other characters to make the delightful ending twist work even more effectively when they all conspire to kill him. The ending is a lot of fun, but with that said, the overall humor could be elevated. It s not the type of play that has laugh out loud moments. The tone is a bit ambiguous. Prior to the death, the tone feels dramatic. However, as the play progresses, it feels more like a dark comedy, which is very fitting for this type of mystery. While humor is subjective, stronger dark comedy with wittier lines of dialogue would really make this play shine. Greg feels cocky and entitled. As mentioned, there s room to enhance this. His motivation for the ruse feels a bit unclear. He says it s for a music video. This doesn t feel like a strong enough motivation. One wonders if he should tell the ... Petroleum and Oil Essay Oct.29,2013 Tarmageddon Rhetorical Analysis Essay A good and successful article is an article that is logically organized and does not disrupt the flow of thought and content that is provided in the piece of work as well as a good writing style which keeps the reader engaged throughout their read. The author Andrew Nikiforuk has created a nice and logical structure within his article. He starts by stating how Europeans felt towards Canada before and continues by explaining what has changed their stance towards Canada. He then leads on by describing oil and the specifics of the oil Canada is refining while noting its problems along the way while recounting how Canada changed, explaining why those changes transpired. He doesn t only include relevant details about the oil; he also provides important details about the government officials who do not take this issue seriously. (PARAGRAPH 16, PAGE 212) He does not suddenly make a blunt claim that the Prime minister doesn t take notice of the problem at hand. Instead he gives us important background information son of imperial oil executive which is the reason behind the Prime minister s negligence towards the oil problem. All of the facts and reasons that the author uses to support his article shows us that he isn t trying to benefit from the power of emotion because he knows that emotions are unstable, he plans to use the power of logic and reason which have much more stability and validity to rally support from his fellow readers. In addition to the appealing to the audience s reason the author uses an informative writing style in this article to inform his audience of the issue at hand and its consequences if it isn t handled appropriately and increase the article s effectiveness consequentially. He doesn t narrate a story nor does he state his personal opinion anywhere in his work. He solely relies on the information he has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Human Performance And Commercial Aircraft Accidents Human error has been acknowledged as a main contributor to more than 70 percent of commercial and private aircraft accidents. While characteristically connected with flight procedures, human error has also recently become a main concern in maintenance practices and air traffic management. Human factors specialists work with engineers, pilots, and mechanics to apply the latest information about the interface between human performance and commercial aircraft to help operators develop safety and efficiency in their daily operations. About 80 percent of maintenance errors comprise of human factors, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. The maintenance realm has exceptional human factors matters that are more severe and longer lasting than elsewhere in aviation. Operators are considering numerous procedures to combat human factors challenges. Human factors are endless catchphrases in maintenance operations. Although human factors maintenance training is not strictly required in the U.S., many U.S. maintenance organizations have accepted it because they see regulation in the near future, want to conform to the regulations elsewhere or merely accept the business example. Why are human conditions, such as fatigue, complacency and distraction, so important? As one expert put it, if you scratch the surface of a maintenance incident, you re likely to find human factors concerns. • 9. The Memory Interference Test ( Mit ) The Memory Interference Test (MIT) is a computerized experiment that gauges the cognitive functioning of undergraduate students through visual or auditory prompts to test memory. The MIT is particularly used to test patient s memory in situations where a brain injury is in question, the results in performance are compared to standardized scores of their peers. There is an inverse relationship between the amount of memory target items and performance: as the number of items the subject was exposed to increased their performance significantly decreased (Komori 2016). Does previous expose to the MIT and thus previous exposure to other target items account for the decrease in number of correct items? Using a sample size of 10,090 the study examines the relationship between performance and if the subject has had previous exposure to an MIT. The alternative hypothesis that there is a statistically significant difference in the number of correct picture items and if it was the subjects first MIT attempt, which directly contradicts the null hypothesis that there is no difference in the number of correct picture items and wether or not it was the first MIT preformed. Materials and Methods The MIT does not measure intelligence, rather the subjects memory and does so through three different cognitive assessments: picture memory (PMIT), auditory memory (AMIT) and word memory (WMIT). One of the three neuro cognitive tests is preformed, the PMIT flashes a picture, the AMIT flashes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When paying off student loans, even with scholarships, students may find themselves paying around 77,000 dollars more than their original loan balance of around 180,000 dollars. Conversely, Kansas University is much cheaper, allowing good students to take out a loan of less than 100,000 dollars. Additionally, obtaining scholarships from Kansas University is much easier than trying for one at Washington University. Innovations such as the composite bow (introduced by the Hyksos), cavalry (accredited to Assyria and Persia), the stirrup (attributed to China), gunpowder (China), crossbow (China), and cannons (China) have been attributed to non Western regions; however, it is the Western militaries that exploited these innovations to their full deadly potential and in the process created military revolutions. The French invasion of Italy was not only an early part of the Gunpowder Revolution and the beginning of the modern age of warfare, but it was one of the first attempts at building nation states. At the time, Italy was divided into several city states, sovereign regions formed by a city and its surrounding territories. Due to the small size of many city states, their defense was turned over to mercenary captains, condottieri. The paid men who formed compagnie (companies) under the condottieri were most often foreigners who lacked loyalty to their paymasters. On the other hand, as France expanded and took over city states such as Armagnac, Burgundy, Provence, Anjou, and Brittany, they would become a part the French nation and its military. As such, King Charles VIII became the leader of the most powerful state in Europe by advancing the nation state instead of city states. Nearly one and a half centuries later, Swedish King Gustavus II Adolphus would further advance the French artillery techniques and make modern modifications to the formation and maneuver of his troops during the Battle of Breitenfeld in 1631 against Count Johann Tilly, an Imperial commander. Tilly formed his forces in seventeen tercios, large formation of pikemen and musketeers fifty men abreast and thirty men deep. Rape Culture And Rape Myths As kids we were taught about stranger danger; we were taught to protect ourselves from strangers and as we got older, females were told to protect themselves from getting raped. In this paper, I will discuss how living in a rape culture affects women and men, how does rape myths affect society and how we can change the negative effects of living in a rape culture and rape myths. In order to understand this, we must first define what rape is. Rape is unwanted sexual attentions or actions that are directed to a person. Rape can happen to anyone but it is most common to happen women. Rape happens to women around the ages of 16 24 and it is considered to be at the greatest risk of sexual assault (Aronowitz, Lambert, Davidoff 2012). Also 1 in 5 American women survive rape or attempted rape (Maxwell 2014) and 1 in six men are abused before they reach the age of 18 (Maxwell 2014). Lastly, the victim is most likely to know or be related to their attacker (Aronwitz, Lambert, Davidoff 2012). As we can see from the data above, rape can happen to anyone, not just women. Though because everyone has this misconception that rape is only for women and that women wanted to be raped has created rape myths. Rape myths originate from a rape culture. A society only becomes a rape culture when rape is prevalent and in which sexual violence against women is normalized and excused in the media and popular culture ( Rape Culture, n.d.). The disease has been described as a permanent intolerance to ingested gluten that damages the small intestine, characteristically inducing crypt hyperplasia and villous atrophy, and typically resolves with removal of gluten from the diet. (AJN 34). Celiac disease appears to be more prevalent in women than in men. Genetic and immune factors are known to play a role in its development. People that have a family member with celiac disease and people that have autoimmune disorders are at higher risk to develop celiac disease. Then, the common people would be given instruments to get rid of the condoms in their backyard and gardens. The reason behind this is that morals are dying; over the years, people have become non judgmental. Nixon replied, you could get a million dollars. You could get it in cash. I know where it could be gotten. It is not easy, but it could be done. The president s own words proved that he was involved with the break in and that he used hush money to keep witnesses silent. Another tape recording, called the smoking gun , uncovered Nixon s exploitation of the CSI. In the tape, Nixon plans to have Richard Helms, the Director of the CIA, and Vernon A.
