Amebic Dysentery Research Papers
Amebiasis caused when a single celled parasite called E. histolytica enters the human body when
a person ingests cysts through food or water. It can also enter the body through direct contact with
fecal matter. The cysts are a relatively inactive form of the parasite that can live for several
months in the soil or environment where they were deposited in feces. The microscopic cysts are
present in the soil, fertilizer, or water that s been contaminated with infected feces. Food handlers
may transmit the cysts while preparing or handling food. Transmission is also possible during anal
sex or colonic irrigation. When cysts enter the body, they hunt in the digestive tract. They then
release an invasive form of the parasite called a trophozoite. The... Show more content on

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), only about 10 to 20
percent of people who have amebiasis become ill from it. Symptoms at this stage tend to be mild
and include loose stools and stomach cramping If the parasite invades the lining of your
intestine, it can produce amebic dysentery. Amebic dysentery is a more dangerous form of the
disease with frequent watery and bloody stools and severe stomach cramping. If the parasite
enters your bloodstream, it can end up in your liver, heart, lungs, brain, or other organs, where it
causes tissue destruction and abscess. The liver is a frequent destination for the parasite.
Symptoms of amebic liver disease include fever and tenderness in the upper right part of your

The Importance Of English In Literature
Nowadays, English has become the most common global language and has a big role in every
human s life aspect. Particularly, English also has an important role in global education since most
of the school and universities across the world are implementing English as their literature courses.
According to Crystal (2012) by mastering English based literature study, students are more able to

6.2 Survey
Generally, survey is defined as an act of doing a brief interview or discussion about a specific
topic with an individual in order to gather information needed (Fowler, 2013, p.8). To collect the
data in survey, the researcher can use either by a written questions (questionnaire) or by straightly
ask a load of questions to the participants to obtain the required information (interviews). This type
of data collection method is really preferred by many researchers among the other methods due to
its numerous advantages and benefits. One of the major advantages is it provide a greater range of
information that represent a large number of population which the result usually more precise
because the questions that used are usually undergo a scrutiny standardizations (Mathiyazhagan and
Nandan, 2010, p.34). However, it required lots of time consuming and cost. Thus, due to its
advantages, me as the researcher will be using survey method through questionnaire, with two types
of questions, which are the closed questions, and Likert scaled questions in this research. The
closed questions are more effective in the survey because it is easier

All Summer In A Day Ray Bradbury
All summer in a day in one essay All summer in a day by Ray Bradbury is a science fiction about
a society that lives on the planet Venus. In the beginning they all crowded around the window
hoping the sun would come out. Soon Margot started getting called names and getting shoved
and then put in a locked closet. In the end the sun came out for the first time in seven years but
she was still locked in the closet and she was let out when the sun went back away. This story
shows that Margot has trouble living on Venus. One reason Margot has trouble living on Venus
because she is from Earth. In paragraph thirty we are told she hasn t seen the sun since she was
four, so she wanted to see the sun because it was that day in the seventh year it

Similarities And Differences Between Colin Powell And...
Colin Powell and Maria Montessori have differing opinions about children and their structure and

in all learning. To begin, Colin states, look up, open your eyes, stare straight ahead, and speak out
your question loudly so everybody can hear. By saying this, he is saying that you need structure

An Analysis Of Billy Joel s Song We Didn T Start The Fire
Billy Joel in his song We Didn t Start The Fire claims that the current generation, as of the time the
song was written, did not, in fact, start the fire. Thought the song many events are listed until the
chorus comes along again to remind the listener the they did not start the fire. The fire in this song
that Billy Joelspeaks of are crazy and shocking events in the world not only being generally
harmful to the public but events that changed how people viewed things. The song s repetition of
not starting the fire, the lengthy lines used for verses that completely list events, and the listing of
events as opposed to common verses in an average song shows how they did not start the fire and
the fire had been going on for generations and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With the song being so different from an average song, it makes the song feel filled in the
verses, with all of the events that he provides, in the short time that the song plays. The song s
verses are entirely evidence for Billy Joel s claim that the fire had not been started by him or his
group and with so many examples, there is no time to put reasoning behind it but rather connect
the ideas to the major point, being the chorus. With so many examples one after another as the
song continues through its verses Billy Joel is listing as many examples as he can to prove the
point of the fire having been already started. As he lists these events he is pushing forward so
many examples against the argument without taking any look at another side which shows how
he is not only annoyed by the claim that he did start the fire but also how he wants to push his
side. With so much evidence being thrown at the listener it s impossible to refute what he is
saying. His strange verses being entirely made up of listed evidence towards his claim, it supports
his argument in a strange and uncharacteristic way for an average

Leading Like A Great Conductor Essay
Watching the Itay Talgam: Lead like the Great Conductors video orchestra my favorite Conductor
style was that of the final conductor because he lead the orchestra with his arms completely
crossed and occasionally instructed with is his face when a section should begin to play or not.
A great leader is just like a great conductor being in a leadership role one has to find the best way
of seeing things from a different perspective. In viewing the video I saw that there were many
parallels that could be seen between corporations and an orchestra.
Like an orchestra conductor, being a leader within an organization bears the same challenges trying
to create perfect harmony among the different variables in your business to ensure your
organization creates beautiful products and profits, (Leaders, March 2013).
In leading like a great conductor, one will not just lead but must bring out the best in their team
members. Therefore, a good leader may use gestures, facial expression, and eye contact to create a
strong sense of connection and involvement within their team to accomplish their mission.

Business Structures
There are a variety of different business structures that comprise the market in the world today.
The most common ones found in the business world today are sole proprietorships, partnerships,
and corporations. From these you will also find monopolies and oligopolies. Economists assume
there are a number of different buyers and sellers in the market which leads to competition which
allows prices to change in response to changes in supply and demand.(1) In many industries you
there are substitutes for products, so if one type of product becomes too expensive the consumer
can choose an alternative product that is cheaper, or one of better quality.... Show more content on

However, the goods and services sold on eBay can be considered perfectly competitive. There is a
multitude of buyers, or producers, and consumers have options with substitutes. Most of the
products sold within their category are similar and for the quality of the product, they are
typically within the same price range of one another, and each individual seller chooses their price
based on other similar goods sold on the site. Ebay, as a company itself, fits more in the category of
an oligopoly, which is actually pretty common in any market. Other alternative websites include
Yahoo!, Amazon, and Quibids, but there are only a small number of them, certainly not hundreds
as in monopolistic competition. Also, eBay is interdependent on the few other auction website
companies, competing with the fees they charge, as well as quality of customer support, and buyer
/seller reliability. Another characteristic of eBay that coincides with it being considered an
oligopoly is the fact that it has numerous entry barriers. It s such a large company with many
restrictions, and it would be hard for an up and coming substitute auction website to break into the
market and compete with eBay or the other top companies in the industry. (6) Weird Al Yankovic,
through his humor, gives a pretty accurate description of how eBay works. Though obviously made
as a joke, it

Semi-Structured Interview Analysis
The interview followed a semi structured interview design. The adoption of this technique not only
allowed multiple questions that would delve into the athlete s thoughts but it also brought about the
ability for probing questions to be asked. Therefore, enhancing the chances of gathering a higher
volume of information conjoined with more detailed explanations as to why the athlete thought he
used certain techniques. Throughout the interview it quickly became evident that the athlete was
focused on winning. Portraying himself as outcome orientated (Duda, Olson Templin, 1991), by
placing his ego above performance through the choice of wanting to win, even if it meant he
performed badly. The interview started with the sharing of some information... Show more content

However, once the initial opening questions were completed, nerves quickly settled, this was
partly due to the fact that the interview technique allowed for myself to ask the interviewee to
expand on certain points. Therefore, pressing focus not on to my delivery but the actual details
and explanations of the interviewees answers. In the evaluation of the interview, I would say
that I produced well executed links between the athlete s verbal answers and his answers
produced in TOPS 2, whilst also avoiding any reliance on the TOPS 2 results by withholding
some information and seeing if the interviewees answers matched up with the TOPS 2. However,
I felt my nerves were unfortunately allowed to impact my initial interviewing prowess, which led
to possible opportunities at the beginning where the athlete could have elaborated on certain
points, being missed. The interview as a whole I feel went well. I gained a variety of information
about the athlete, which included pieces that I could have not otherwise learnt purely from
analysis the TOPS 2 scores. In hindsight, it was never going to be the perfect example of how to
conduct yourself as an interviewer, in the context of presenting the correct balance between set
questions and questions that delve for more detail. These questions could have also had a stronger
relationship to future events. Although I briefly touched on his immediate next match, I could have
had the athlete expand on why he knew he would be using imagery and which other performance
factors would be present. In the future, my interview technique will be supported by a larger
number of set questions and therefore, I feel this would cause a positive impact on my nerves
previous to the interview.

depth. As a result, i ve studied this concept in an effort to get a better grasp of understanding this
phenomenon and the degree to which it influences our lives. (Audience Appeal) This topic is
important because it is prevalent in all of our daily lives. Our simple interactions with people in

The consumer electronics market is highly competitive with rapid changes in consumer demand
patterns.
DSG had a store network much larger than its competitors, and so a higher cost base, with
considerable exposure to and reliance on the fast moving office/computer products market.
DSG was losing market share by experiencing declining comparable sales. Revenue growth was
based on store growth and commercial sales at low margins.
DSG s expansion plan required considerable financial commitment, utilised all cash resources,
required considerable supplier commitment and required bank borrowings.
Inventory decisions made in this environment were not consistent with consumer demand, and
DSG was ultimately left with a considerable level of obsolete and inactive stock, requiring a major
writedown.
Clearance sales did not generate sufficient sales or margin to alleviate the cash pressure.
Inability to obtain favourable credit terms impacted on stock levels, product mix and store
presentation.
Cashflow pressures led to banking covenants being breached that could not be

Analysis of Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man Essay
Analysis of Ralph Ellison s The Invisible Man
The prologue from The Invisible Man deals with many issues that were palpable in the 1950s, and
that unfortunately are still being dealt with today. An African American man who refers to himself
as the invisible man goes through life without being truly noticed as a person. He states that
because of his skin color he is only looked down upon, if he is ever noticed at all. The invisible
man goes through life living in a closed down part of a basement that no one knows exists and he
anonymously steals all of the power that he needs from the Monopolated Light Power Company.

This was to show that Ellison and every American was just that, American. Everyone is a citizen
no matter creed or color. The purpose of the essay was to open the publics eyes to the unjust
treatment of minorities of that time. Ellison clearly established to his audience that racism was not
going away and that facing the problem head on would be the only was to fix the problem at hand.
This essay also used a pathetic appeal to sway the reader. Ellison wrote descriptively about the
events that made the invisible man who he was. All of the examples were extraordinarily
evocative in depicting the way the invisible man made it through life. From the paradigm of the
invisible man and his encounter with the blond man, to the portrayal of the former slave woman,
Ellison captivated the audience. I kicked him repeatedly, in a frenzy because he still uttered
insults though his lips were frothy with blood , illustrates the invisible mans hate toward the
blond man who offended him first. This dramatic recourse pales in comparison to the account of
the former slave woman. When recalling a dream the invisible man recites a tale of a woman who
loved her former master even though he would not free her or her children that her master
fathered. This depiction pulls at the heart strings when the woman sobs after being asked about
freedom, and she knows that she will never be able to taste it. Overall the representations are

A Brief Note On Internal Medicine And Nursing Essay
People are my passion! I wake up each morning praying that I make a positive impact in someone
s life. The value of my life lies not on personal achievement and possessions but on how profitable
I have been to my neighbor and my world. This belief, no doubt has influenced my choice of career
and specialty. Internal medicineis my number one specialty. I love this specialty because it
provides me the opportunity to solve varied medical problems ranging from acute care to
management of chronic disease. Just like solving a puzzle, an internist applies critical thinking,
sound science in preventing, diagnosing and treating varied adult diseases. Internal Medicine is an
ever evolving discipline and requires continuous and persistent updating of one s knowledge. This
sits well with my massive appetite of reading. I enjoy the challenges the specialty presents. I love
the fact that an internist provides consults to other physicians in disease diagnosis and work as
primary care physician. The broad subspecialties in internal medicine match and exceeds my
perception of a complete doctor.
From a young age, my parents taught me to care and serve others. Although they had very little
western education, my parents became successful business owners and community leaders largely
due to hard work and dedicated service to people. They always told me that I could succeed in
anything I choose to do. They understood the value of education and supported me in all my
endeavors.

How Plate Tectonics Discovered

about how plate tectonics were discovered. Plate tectonics is theory that earth s outer shell

the core. The plates act like a hard and rigid shell compared to earths mantle. The strong outer layer
is called litosphere.
Developed from 1950 s to 1970 s, plate tectonics is the modern version of continental drift .This
theory was first proposed by scientist Alfred Wegener in 1912. Plate tectonics is the unifying theory
of geology that explains the structure of the earth s crust.

Theme Of Light And Dark Imagery In Oedipus The King
Sophocles masterful work, Oedipus the King, exemplifies the significance of imagery within
literature. The perpetual presence of light and dark imagery effectively strengthens the dramatic
aspects of catharsis, anagnorisis and mimesis. These factors continually impose the audience to
establish a personal connection with the literary work. As an individual, Oedipus possesses the
unfortunate attribute of hubris; his ego ultimately causes his tragic demise and convincingly elicits
catharsis, an emotional outcry from the spectators. His sight frequently sways due to his sentiments

Me or any man who lives in light (Sophocles 22). Within this quotation, the light metaphorically
exemplifies knowledge and principle, while the darkness establishes the presence of ignorance
and deception. Oedipus does not suggest that Tiraeus, a blind male, is incapable of hurting him,
but rather, that the seer s falsehood cannot damage his stature. Oedipus arrogance renders him to
the point where he is incapable of interpreting the truth of his origins and profoundly desires to
maintain his authority as the sovereign of Thebes. Consequently, his conduct incites catharsis
from the audience as they witness the gradual collapse of a prominent, dramatic figure.
Sophocles additionally utilises imagery to reinforce his clutch on the sentiments of the audience,
during Oedipus revelation to the truth of his origins. In agony and grief, he states, I am deserted,
dark, and where is sorrow stumbling? Whence flits that voice so near? Where, demon, will you

his ignorance blinds his sense of practicality. Sophocles utilises the terms, deserted (Sophocles 72)

after his horrific actions. The presence of dark imagery effectively forces an evocation of emotion
from the audience as they helplessly look upon the tragic hero s fate. With the utilization of light and

Analysis Of A Thousand And One Nights
A Thousand and One Nights is a tale about the over sexed east which is favored by the sexually
repressed west when applied to and analyzed under the lens of Orientalism. This translation of
the text, while not as sexually explicit as Sir Richard Burton s translation, has its fair amount of
sexual promiscuity which paints the middle eastern characters as dishonest, violent, and sexually
deviant. These traits were seen as socially taboo to the west, especially those in Victorian Europe
who helped the tale gain its reputation as a popular exotic story. The two main scenes where
these traits come into play both take place within A Thousand and One Nights frame story with
Shahrayar and Shahzarman. Shahzarman kills his adulterous wife and her lover then leaves to
visit Shahrayar in his kingdom. When Shahrayar s wife and servants are caught in the act they are
killed and Shahrayar vows to kill his future brides on their wedding nights which is when
Shahrazad attempts to bring him to his senses. The two brothers are extremely hot headed and
violent and their wives are plagued by insatiable lust, which plays into the sexually charged
barbarity perpetuated by Orientalism. Throughout this paper I will be using Edward Said s
definition of Orientalism. Said defines Orientalism as the following: Orientalism can be discussed
and analyzed as the corporate institution for dealing with the Orient dealing with it by making
statements about it, authorizing views of it, describing it, by

Evolution Of Athenian Democracy Essay
Evolution of Democracy and the Athenian Constitution
Democracy is defined in modern times as government by the people. To put that in perspective and
better understand all that democracy entails we must consider its origins. It is surprising indeed
that even today tyrannies and dictatorships exist in the world when more than two and a half
thousand years ago the ancient Athenians had developed a functional and direct form of democracy.
What contributed to this remarkable achievement and how it changed the socio political scene in
Athens is what will be considered in this paper.
The paper will have three sections, each detailing the various stages of political development from

Honor was a competitive concept in Greek society. This held true not only for individuals but
also for the highly competitive city states or poleis. Hence they were constantly at war with each
other whether to add to their holdings or on issues of politics with the losing side ending up
enslaved (for example the Messenians who were defeated and enslaved by the Spartans). This
constant internal military pressure was the very catalyst that caused gradual changes over
hundreds of years. Since kings were hereditary therefore it was always not possible to find a
capable general as well as administrator in one person. The inevitable result was that the ancient
warrior class the aristocrats who formed the bulk of the army as the cavalry by virtue of owning
horses took the power of the general for themselves. This was the beginning of the second stage in
the development of the constitution. Thus the office of Polemarch (leader in war) was instituted
due to incompetence in war of some kings (Aristotle and Xenophon, p: 148).
Consequently the office of Archon was established to manage the administration of the state and
now the king, who was called King Archon, was left with only the vestigial religious functions.
According to Aristotle, for the early offices the tenure was initially for life and then for ten years.

Sadly but surely in today s society we would go through any lengths to free ourselves of any

them to stay alert and awake during the day, with a significant improvement in focus and less

norepinephrine levels in the brain. Moreover, ADHD diagnosed patients have been proven to be
positively affected by the drug and have demonstrated more effective functioning.
Although adderall is advantageous for individuals with the disorder, the drug is not recommended
for recreational purposes. Over the recent years, adderall abuse has become increasingly popular
amongst eager college students looking to focus better in their studies and ultimately perform
better academically. According to SAMHSA s National Survey on Drug and Health, it is deemed a

unfortunate how commonly the drug is misused. It is said by the National Institute on Drug Abuse

taking the drug without the disorder can be very dangerous if not monitored by a trained

Torture in Guantanamo Essay
Torture in Guantanamo Under American influence, Binyam Mohamed, an Ethiopian citizen
contained in the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, was tortured to an extent where his whole
body was burned. Binyam is just one example of the claims of torture found in the Guantanamo
Bay prison, otherwise known as Gitmo . Many of the Gitmo detainees are men who made most, if
not all, Americans fear them after their attacks on September 11, 2001, but after reports of abuse,
George W. Bush and Barack Obama have promised to close down the Guantanamo detention
facility. Too many Guantanamo Bay detainees have been abused in the prison by the large, deep
water harbor on Cuba s southeastern coast; one of the best protected bays in the world ( Guantanamo

With this statement he refers to an earlier statement by basically saying, Americans have no clue
about any of the cruel and unusual tactics used at the Guantanamo Bay prison. Not only are the
prisoners abused and neglected but they are also isolated for most of the time they serve. Along
with the abuses already listed, they deny medical and family visits, food, and pay for prisoners (
Background Note: Cuba 6). The people of the United States may find out about these horrid
interrogations, they have much more to learn. Many people are shocked to find out the Pentagon
has denied claims of any abuse in Guantanamo, although the people at the Pentagon admit to
finding cases of the torture (Ardiente 2). To authorities this scheme acts as a minor problem, and it
s apparent they aren t making it as much of a concern as they should. Techniques for interrogation
were considered to be life threatening conditions that should not be tolerated by any presidential
administration (Woodward 1). Detainees had no trial and no charges to bring to court so they went
on many hunger strikes to protest ( Guantanamo Bay 3). As a response to the prisoners hunger
strikes, the American officials made the detainees undress completely, and they force fed them
(Greenberg 5). Naked, cold and confused, the prisoners spend 22 hours of each day in

Aristotle Citizen
According to the words of Aristotle, a city state is viewed as a natural organization that is
comprised of a large sum of individuals who share a common goal but hold unique identities. He
mentioned the following, For a city is by nature a mass of people; as it becomes more and more
unified, first the citywill turn into a household, and then the household will turn into just one
person for we would say that a household is more unified than a city, and one person more unified
than a household. And so, even if someone were capable of completely unifying a city, he should
not do it, since he would destroy the city. (Aristotle, page 292) The common goal here, is to allow

Aristotle addresses the question about who should be fit to rule. He answers this by stating that
good ruling is done by those who are intelligent have learned the necessarily skills to rule a city
state. Aristotle states the following, First, we must understand the received formulae of oligarchy
and democracy, and the oligarchic and democratic justice; for everyone touches on some sort of
justice, but the make only limited progress and do not describe the whole of what is fully just.
Justice seems to be equality, for instance, and indeed it is but for equals, not for everyone. Again,
inequality seems to be just; and so it is but for unequals, not for everyone. But these omit this part
equality or inequality for whom and so make the wrong judgment. The reason is that they are
giving judgment in their own case, and most people are practically always bad judges in their own
cases. (Aristotle, page 302) The passage illustrates the inequality which gives rise to the
disproportionate representation of the majority. Given the circumstances, only citizens (those born
from the elite) are the sole commanders when it comes to creating and implementing policies and

Elizabeth s Visit to Pemberley in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen In Pride and Prejudice
Elizabeth s visit to Pemberley is a very key episode in the story as it expresses her change of
heart towards Darcy. This visit reveals the true and real Darcy which proves that Elizabeth s
assumptions were wrong which follows on from Darcy s explanatory letter at Hunstanton, of his
and Wickems situation. Elizabeth is shocked to hear of Wickems unforgivable behaviour and his
lies but her prejudices of Darcy remain. The house and grounds of Darcy reflect his character and

There is great contrast between Darcy s house and grounds and Lady Catherine s house and
grounds at Rosings. Elizabeth begins to realize what she had rejected and begins to regret it,
which presents more evidence of Elizabeth changing her feelings towards Darcy. This was a
lucky recollection it had saved her from something like regret . Elizabeth best impressions were
reinforced by Mrs. Reynolds. The housekeeper is very friendly and down to earth the complete
opposite to Lady Catherine. She s not what Elizabeth had expected her to be. The housekeeper
came; a respectable looking elderly woman, much less fine, and more civil, than she had any
notion of finding her . Mrs. Reynolds description is crucial to Elizabeth s feelings for Darcy. Her
comments reveal Darcy s real character, and also confirm Wickems Firstly he is very loving
towards his sister, and his generosity proves this as he buys her a piano a very expensive but

is nothing he would not do for her . This also shows that he would do anything to make his sister

This marriage took place due to influences on the part of Catherine s father, King Ferdinand of
Spain. Ferdinand considered England to be a type of vassal state with Catherine as his ambassador.
As the new King, Henry VIII did not waste any time spending his inheritance on lavish living.
Gambling, fine clothes, and fine jewelry were just some of his vices. Shore states that it was
during these early years that Henry VIII confided in Cardinal Wolsey and Thomas More. Henry
VIII and Catherine were close. However, there friendship was supplanted by that of Wolsey barely a
year after Catherine became Queen. Wolsey was given authority within the realm, but the King did
not always agree with his decision which lead to tension and controversy in their relationship. This
is mentioned because it is the beginning of a pattern Henry VIII exhibited in his closest
relationships. As initially with Catherine, his relationships with both Anne Boleynand Thomas
Cromwell followed a similar pattern. Each was someone Henry VIII had relied upon, but who
later fell from favor in the mist of political and social influences at court.
As King, Henry VIII was prideful personally and professionally. In order to compete on an
international scale and to exert his military influence, Henry VIII engaged in conflict with France.
These campaigns were more likely intended to inflate his self image in relation to the kings of both
France and Spain. Shore

Essay on Technology and Employment in the United States
Technology is used throughout the United States, whether it is good or a bad thing we all have
our own point of view. Technology may be easier and faster, but reduces the employment rate,
makes Americans to less likely find a job, unemployment rates go down with technology but
makes education not worth it, and makes American s anti social when it comes to the social work

Examples Of Transactional Analysis Model
Using the T.A. Model for change illustrate the benefits of being aware of Transactions in
relationship and in the working environment.
By my new discovery in psychoanalysis of a person called Transactional Analysis , provided by
institution, I had a great opportunity to analyze myself and my personal character. I now know that
all people are divided in several internal models that can change the relationships between all people
we interact with. Dr. Eric Berne is a person who found the most common definition of the
Transactional Analysis. To find it easy to understand, we can define the Transactional Analysis as
the method for studying interactions between individuals.
The basic model that transactional analysis has is called ego states . Main principle is to identify
the behavior, person s feelings, character and thoughts, the result will bring up one or several ego
states that exist in individual. By looking at the definition of Dr. Bern towards Ego states theory: A
steady example of feeling and experience straightforwardly identified with a relating reliable
example of conduct (Bern, 1961), we can understand that all people has at least one strongly
marked ego state.

Access Control Mechanisms Protect Sensitive Information...
Access control mechanisms protect sensitive information from unauthorized users. However, when
sensitive information is shared and a Privacy Protection Mechanism (PPM) is not in place, an
authorized user can still compromise the privacy of a person leading to identity disclosure. A PPM
can use suppression and generalization of relational data to anonymize and satisfy privacy
requirements, e.g., k anonymity and l diversity, against identity and attribute disclosure. However,
privacy is achieved at the cost of precision of authorized information., we propose an accuracy
constrained privacy preserving access controlframework. The access control policies define
selection predicates available to roles while the privacy requirement is to satisfy the k anonymity or
l diversity. An additional constraint that needs to be satisfied by the PPM is the imprecision bound
for each selection predicate. The techniques for workload aware anonymization for selection
predicates have been discussed in the literature. However, to the best of our knowledge, the problem
of satisfying the accuracy constraints for multiple roles has not been studied before. In our
formulation of the aforementioned problem, we propose heuristics for anonymization algorithms
and show empirically that the proposed approach satisfies imprecision bounds for more permissions
and has lower total imprecision than the current state of the art. E. Bertino and R. Sandhu, [5] wrote

The Food Safety Is A Highly Overlooked Essay
Food safety is a highly overlooked yet crucial aspect of the food industry, as evident in the
deadly 1993 Escherichia Coli outbreak in multiple Jack in the Box locations. Escherichia Coli is
prevalent in raw and undercooked ground beef, which is a common food item on the Jack in the
Box menu; the bacterial contamination during the slaughtering process of the meat lead to this
gut wrenching epidemic (Wiley 2013). The horrific E. coli outbreak could have been prevented
if it were not for Jack in the Box s meat supplier Vons, Foodmaker s vice president of technical
services Ken Dunkley, and Jack in the Box s President Bob Nungent. The 1993 Jack in the Box
E. Coli outbreak could have been prevented firstly if the contaminated meat itself had never set
foot in a single Jack in the Box establishment. It was made evident upon an interview with Jack in
the Box s President Bob Nugent that the testing that was done on that particular batch of meat
indicated that it had high levels of E. coli. It is their responsibility to notify us if there s any
potential hazard with a product. We were notified of those high levels of E. coli after the outbreak.
So without notification, we couldn t take any measures to preclude it . (Benedict 2011). Vons

The War of 1812 amounted to a second war of independence for the new Republic and helped to

torching the White House and other federal buildings. They were finally defeated at the epic Battle

Persuasive Essay On Xylitol
Shocking Cavity Fighters You Didn t Know About
You think you are doing everything right when it comes to your teeth. You brush regularly and
limit sugary foods. Unfortunately, a trip to the dentist reveals cavities. While brushing, flossing
and steering clear of cavity causing foods and beverages are the best line of defense, there are
some interesting second lines of defense you may not know about for children and adults both.
Xylitol
Fight cavities with sugar! That s right, Xylitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol used as a
sweetener. It is used in sugar free gums, candies, mouthwashes and toothpastes. While Xylitol
works great as a sugar substitute, it also works as a cavity fighter. This type of sugar kills the
bacteria in the mouth that causes cavities. Using Xylitol five times of day in the form of gum,
candy, mints, or mouthwashes helps to cleanse your mouth of cavity causing bacteria. Your
children will be thrilled when you ask them to eat candy!

It is not just great for your body and bones, but the casein in cheese may have a protective property
which helps prevent cavities. After we eat cheese, research shows an increase in calcium levels in
our mouths. Increased calcium in the saliva can help re mineralize teeth and prevent cavities.
Wine
Obviously for adults only, wine has chemical components in it which research has shown fights the
bacteria leading to tooth decay and cavities. While these studies are still young, the research is
promising. However, keep in mind red wine is known to stain teeth.
Using a Straw
When you are trying to prevent cavities, you should avoid sugary and acidic drinks altogether. But
if you find you need a soda, drink it through a straw. Studies show sipping sugary drinks through a
straw lessens contact with the teeth and therefore lessens the effect the sugary drink has on teeth.

To What Extent did the North s Industry lead to Northern Victory? The North s industrial
dominance was a major factor of why the won the war as it was an underlying factor to the other
aspects of how they won. Through the North s industrial prominence it allowed them to be a much
more versatile and flexible army through transportation, population and financial supremacy. The
Northern industry allowed them to produce war goods and to be an independent economy, which
had a major play to their success in the war. The lack of emphasis on manufacturing and commercial
interest, stemming from the Southern desire to preserve their traditional agricultural society,
disadvantaging themselves to the North and their ability to function independently. It was neither

The And Collective Memory Of The First World War
Contemporary Canadian reimagining of the First World war is from the book Catching the
torch by a Brock University teacher Neta Gordon. She wrote this book in 2014. She tries to
explain to the reader the conflict between history and collective memory of the First World War.
With many other essays, she focuses on the role of the Canadian army in the First World war. As
we know, the Canadian army entered the war in early 1915 to offer help to the Britain soldiers
fighting against the Germans. The Canadian army was basically forced to join because they were a
member of the British Empire.
On the one hand, Gordon quotes from Jonathan Vance s Death So Noble: Memory, meaning and

Most of the work that Gordon studied and with the publication date from this book, we can also
say that collective memory is not a whole. Most of the soldiers are dead at this time and she had
to rely on works that were published years later after the First War. Gordon quoted Winter in the
first few chapters of her book, he stated: This sense of the socially constructed nature of
collective memory is vital to historical study, since it precludes talking about memory as if it
exists independently of the people who share it (2). From what I understand from the few pages
that we had to read and with my research done with the whole book, the collective memory is
based on the present memory, but since the soldiers they rely on are no longer in a group or in the
same place, it is mostly a memory from one person.
Another thing she said that made me realize how true her statement was with the novel that we
studied during this term. She stated that: many of the narratives this volume examines rehabilitate
the figure of the father and/or conception of productive masculinity; many follow in the tradition
of early twentieth century home front novels by women to consider the value of female work, in
wartime and beyond [...] and most conclude with a look to the future (which is now the present)
and a sense of promise that is decidedly free from irony. (21 22)

Tyson Foods International Strategy Essay
In the global capabilities of companies, the process of penetrating and developing an international
market is seen as the most difficult. This happens because companies usually have little information
about the new market as well as marketing infrastructure to penetrate it. However, companies treat
entry into foreign markets as an extension of their business, which adds incremental revenue for
their products and services. Additionally, firms pursue foreign business opportunities to minimize
risk and investment thereby increasing their total sales and profits. For Tyson Foods to enter the

Risk result from foreign exchange and politics, while opportunities arise from unexploited

Science, Technology And The Nightly News Essay
Science, Technology and the Nightly News
Introduction
It s not uncommon for a news audience to run across stories or headlines about science that seem
too good to be true. Headlines such as, Scientist Say Smelling Farts Might Prevent Cancer,
(Stampler, 2014) or Bananas as good as drugs for treating HIV, say scientists. (Arkless Gray,
2010) Not only are these headlines flashy enough to get the attention of a wide audience, but they
go beyond distributing the facts to wade into the waters of Yellow Journalism. In fact, much of the
news distributed today might be considered such milky fare even by passive audience members. A
2013 Pew Research Center study found that 31 percent of U.S. adults have left a news outlet that
no longer meets their needs. The reason for the exodus? More than 60 percent say the stories are
less complete while another 23.5 percent claim there are fewer stories provided by these news
outlets. One might wonder how such claims could be made in these times of 24 hour news
cycles and breaking news distributed across the web through social media at warp speed. A
closer look at the same Pew study reveals a startling fact about factual news content on cable news
channels. Of the big three cable news channels (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC) only one provides
more than 50 percent of factual news content. The others go beyond the half way mark in providing

in 1810, was a Polish composer on the Romantic era. His talent appeared very early, which on the

to make the net present value positive we would have to change something. We first started by
adding 10% to the utilization for every year. This alone didn t make a huge difference so we had
to additionally lower the hourly wage to $18.19/hr. This gave us a net present value of about
$35,000. This seems unreasonable or at the very least unfair to lower each worker s hourly wage
while increasing the workload. The second way we tried to get the net present value positive
was by just decreasing the hourly wage of each employee from $20/hr to $16.02/hr. This gave us
a net present value of about $33,000. This seems like a more reasonable solution, but it is
dangerous because it could cause workers to quit. Therefore we wouldn t recommend this project.
Both solutions that lead to a positive net present value are too extreme and risky. Also this only
leads to a positive net present value, not an extremely profitable one. This project shouldn t be

ideas of fear and unfamiliar encounters with predators in each of their own domains. Snakes are
animals that place fear into many people although the poem Hunting Snake explores the beauty and
admiration of an apex predator of the bush. Although a Pike is a fish, Ted Hughes still fears the
predator. Using descriptive words to detail the predator, horrifying imagery and extended
metaphors he describes a fearful creature. In this essay I will answer and explore the ways that
these poems demonstrate a complex representation of two respected ... Show more content on

Hughes goes into depth with detail to create a scary image that makes us feel threatened and wary
of this predator. He achieves this by using the quotes killers from the egg and detailed examples of
cannibalism. This message is communicated through the behavior of the fish. It also goes into detail
about how the fish stays top of the food chain. Hughes expresses these points using personification,
horrifying imagery, similes and repetition to emphasis key strong words Hughes explanations are
due to his past experiences, situations he has found himself in and his passion for fishing.
In conclusion, I believe that I have expressed and explored the complex representations of each
animal and that I have supported my arguments that Hunting Snake is a poem about Indigenous
Australians rights and societies fear of over commitment and that Pike represents peoples fear of the
unknown and the survival of the fittest.

Anti Epilepsy Research Paper
Epilepsy is a chronic neurologic disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, brought on by
excessive excitability of neurons in the brain. A seizure is divided into two broad categories:
partial and generalized. Symptoms can range from brief periods of unconsciousness to violent
convulsions. Epilepsy is initiated by synchronous, high frequency discharge from a group of
hyperexcitable neurons called a focus. A focus may result from several causes, including congenital
defects, hypoxia at birth, head trauma, braininfection, stroke, cancer, and genetic disorders. The
Anti epileptic drugs can suppress mania and/or depression and stabilize mood in a patient with

Suppression of Calcium influx: In the axon terminal influx of calcium through voltage gated
calcium channels promotes transmitter release; hence, drugs that block these calcium channels can
suppress transmission. Several AEDs calcium channels can suppress transmission. Several AEDs
including valproic acid and ethosuximide, act by this mechanism. 3. Promotion of potassium influx:
Drug (ezogabine ) act on voltage gates potassium channels to facilitate potassium influx. underlie
the drug s ability to slow repetitive neuronal firing thereby provide seizure control
4. Antagonism of Glutamate: is the primary excitatory transmitter in the CNS. This work through
two receptors NMDA receptors (N menthel D aspartate receptors) and AMPA receptors

neuronal excitation
5. Potentiation of GABA: AEDs potentiate the action of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter that
is widely distributed through the brain. by augmenting the action of GABA, these drugs decrease
neuronal excitability, thus suppress seizure activity
The drugs produce side effects in most people, but there is a lack of evidence for most of the drugs
in most types of neuropathic pain and fibromyalgia. Drugs such as lacosamide, lamotrigine,
carbamazepam, clonazepam, phynytam have shown at least 50% pain intensity reduction over

The Diagnostic Criteria For Smartphone Addiction
The diagnostic criteria for smartphone addiction proposed in this study were based on the
population with the currently largest sample size and the diagnoses were validated by psychiatric
interviews. Our findings indicated that smartphone addiction has overlapping features with
substance related or behavioral addictive disorders, but the unique properties of smartphones, i.e. its
excellent accessibility and multiple Internet based applications, contributed to its unique but
prevalent addictive behaviors.
We proposed that a strict definition for smartphone related functional impairment, requiring two or
more functional impairment criteria influenced by smartphone use. This definition is different from
the diagnostic criteria for functional impairment in DSM 5. Compared to computer based Internet
addiction, the portability of smartphones dampens the severity of functional impairment associated
with smartphone addiction, but instead influences multiple domains of an individual s daily life. In
addition, because smartphone addiction is a heterogeneous and multi faceted condition [26], we
should evaluate the heterogeneity of its functional impairment from different angles.
The symptom criteria in this study provided evidence that smartphone addiction has similar
psychopathology with the traditional substance use disorders. The core symptoms of substance use
disorders are impaired control , which consist of four criteria: (1) use larger amounts/longer, (2)

Hiking Persuasive Essay
The climbing season is at its peak, and rescues are becoming more and more frequent. Experts
have argued whether or not people who risk their lives climbing mountains should have the
privilege to be rescued, even if they can put others lives in danger. Would you climb mountains for
fun knowing that the risks could be life threatening? Climbers should not be given the privilege to
be rescued because they are putting their lives at risk, they can put others lives at risk, and the
climb is very difficult.
Whenever climbing, you can put yourself in life threatening situations. A newspaper article said,
The climbers who fell into the crevasse had slipped on their descent down Emmons Glacier after
hiking to Mount Rainier s 14,411 foot summit.... This supports the idea that climbing can be quite ...

An informational article clearly stated the risks. They said that climbers not only have to reach
the summit safely, they also have to make their way down , that they may not be skilled enough ,
they could face bad weather , and there is a lack of oxygen . These hazards show the risks, and
why mountain climbing is very difficult.
Some experts say that climbers have the right to get rescued because we can easily rescue them
when they get into life threatening situations. But, not all people are rescued, and over 230 people
have died on Mount Everest. And on another mountain, the death rate is 41%. That shows that
even with very advanced rescue services, we can t rescue them all. Mountain climbers should not
be given the privileges to be rescued under any circumstances. This is because they are putting
their lives at risk, they can put others lives at risk, and the climb is very difficult. 230 people have
died attempting to climb Mount Everest, and it would be great if we could stop these attempts,
before they become life threatening. That is why climbers should not have the privilege to be

Taking Risks And Trying New Things
Taking risks and trying new things is a thrilling moment for me. I can usually pride myself on
being adventurous when it comes to trying new food. Either trying a type of cuisine foreign to
me or choosing a new restaurant, I can always say that I will try anything at least once. If it is a
dish in a restaurant I have never tried before, or something that a family member or friend made, I
always think that nothing is so appalling that one bite may kill me. It is an exciting time for me, as
I might find a new foodtype that I had never heard of before that will end up becoming a new
favorite.
Sushi restaurants have been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. Japanese cuisine is
one of my favorites and I cherish every time I get to enjoy a meal at an authentic sushi restaurant.
I have always loved the varied aspects of Japanese cuisine, the fresh raw fish, the unique sushi
rolls, and the many enticing side dishes. I am always willing to try anything and never seem to
find a single dish at a sushi restaurant that I am not fond of. When I moved to Riverside, my family
began visiting this one all you can eat sushi restaurant. It was a great environment and an exciting
dining experience as you can order and try anything on the menu. This particular sushi restaurant
became a fast favorite of mine.
One evening however, I would be tested on just how willing I was to trying something strange and
new. On my way to the restaurant with my family, we were all eager for a

Definition Essay On Sacrifice
When you go in search of honey, you must expect to be stung by bees. ― Joseph Joubert.
According the Merriam Webster Dictionary sacrifice is defined as destruction or surrender of
something for the sake of something else . The second definition is something given up or lost . Do
you really understand the definition of sacrifice? Have you ever felt like you ve sacrificed
something for a greater gain? Sacrifice can be a hard thing to do sometimes but the action that
belongs to the word has changed the course of history time after time. To better understand the
meaning of sacrifice and what it encompasses we must first look at its synonyms. The Merriam
Webster Dictionary list terms such as forfeit , yield , surrender . offer , and suffer . These terms
suggest that some sort of struggle might have ensued leaving another to sacrifice which they may
have not been ready to give. The implication is that if you re sacrificing your losing, or if you re
sacrificing your becoming submissive. It also suggests that people that sacrifice had no other
choice but to do so. While for some this maybe the case for all it is not.... Show more content on

Social Hierarchy In The Kite Runner
The kite runner explores the idea of social hierarchy and how is causes discrimination to those
surrounded by it. Social hierarchy is organized through a social structure called the caste system
that separates the different social classes. The caste system plays a very important role in the kite
runner. The book illustrates how the discrimination of the Hazaras is accepted and practiced by the
Pashtuns. Their differences have led to the Pashtuns being the majority group and the Hazaras as
the minority group. This discrimination has become built into society and effects everyday life. As
Pashtuns, Amir and Baba have the opportunities to receive an education and start their own
business. While the Hazaras, Hassan and Ali, may only work as servants. This discrimination...

Violence in the kite runner is one of the biggest factors that shapes Amir s life. The
discrimination of Hassan causes violence as he gets raped solely because he was a Hazara. Amir s
decision to do nothing has major consequences that he must deal with. Even in America, Amir tries
to bury his past, but he is always reminded of it. The social hierarchy that declares the Hazara people
below Amir, shows how the long history of discrimination is hard to overcome. Later in the book,
Hassan and his wife are staying at Baba s old house. The Talibanfind out and don t believe they
are living there because they are Hazara. The Taliban, just because they believe they are a higher
class then Hazara, kill Hassan like it was routine. The violence that stems from discrimination is
seen throughout the book. The caste system played a major part in the violence Amir experienced
in this story. In Kabul, the people have accepted the social classes and are not afraid to be violent
with the Hazaras to get what they want. As a result of this discrimination, the violence experienced
in Kabul, shape the rest of Amir s

Vince Lombardi s Life And Accomplishments
The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of
knowledge, but rather a lack of will (Lincoln Library 85). This was one of many quotes Vince
Lombardi has spoken throughout his professional life. Vince was born on June 11, 1913 in
Brooklyn New York. At the start of his football fame, he played fullback at St. Francis Prep High
School. After high school, he went to Fordham University in Bronx, New York. At Fordham he
was part of the most feared offensive line called the Seven Blocks of Granite (Lincoln Library
84). He then moved to assistant coach at St. Cecilia High School in New Jersey. After this,
Lombardi coached his first NFL team, the New York Giants. Although he was not the head
coach, his influence as the offensive coach had a significant impact on the team. He provided
insight of trades to improve the areas of the defense. A good defense will help the club s morale
(Lincoln Library 84 85). In the year of 1959 the Green Bay Packersin Wisconsin needed a head
coach desperately. This was where Lombardi was most famous. when he first got to the Packers, he

He had a close connection with every single athlete on the team. Especially the quarterback Bart
Starr. I came to love him like I did my own father, Starr said (Lincoln Library 86). What amazed
people the most was how he turned a team who was 1 10 1 in 1958 to have them win a
championship the year after. Lombardi showed so much dedication to the team that the team s
guard Fuzzy Thurston joked, Thank the Lord, Vince didn t lead the Italian Army in World War
II. If he had, we d have probably lost (Lincoln Library 85). Lombardi coached his team to five
championship titles and the win of the first two Super Bowls. The Super Bowl trophy is called the

Mary Rowlandson vs Anne Bradstreet Essay
Mary Rowlandson and Anne Bradstreet are two women with different stories and one similar faith.
Their similar faith in God and passion for writing allowed the two women to survive the contrast of
hardships each woman had to endure. Furthermore, in this essay, I will compare and contrast the
lives and faith of Rowlandson and Bradstreet. In the story Narrative of the Captivityand Restoration
of Mrs. Mary Rowlandsonwritten by Mary Rowlandson herself, we read that she is taken captive
by a group of Indians. Rowlandson was torn away from husband, children, and town. Everything
she had ever known was taken away from her in an instant and she was taken to unfamiliar territory
with her youngest daughter in tow. If being took captive wasn t... Show more content on

If it wasn t for those things, Rowlandson would have most likely developed a mental illness.
Similarly, Bradstreet, like Rowlandson, also became very lonely, despite having her children
around for her husband was gone a lot of the time. Simon [Bradstreet s] political duties kept him
traveling to various colonies on diplomatic errands, so Anne would spend her lonely days and
nights reading from her father s vast collection of books, and educating her children.
(annebradstreet.com) As you can see, Anne was left alone with her children most of the time.
Mary Rowlandson was kidnapped unlike Bradstreet. Because Rowlandson was kidnapped, this
influenced a lot of things in her life. More specifically, Rowlandson s writing. Rowlandson used her
experience to influence her writing, teach other people moral lessons, and educate them on the
dangers of the outside world. From the multiple biblical references in her narrative, I cannot help
but come to the conclusion that Rowlandson is not just putting the verses in there for herself. But
that she is trying to teach the reader a lesson by telling them not to stray from God when times are
tough, and not to move from salvation. On the contrary, Bradstreet was far from being kidnapped.
Because Bradstreet had different experiences than Rowlandson, the themes and messages behind
her poetry is different than Mary s. Bradstreet s poetry was mostly about her own feelings.

My Experience In My Summer
I can not wait to learn new things in your class this year. I am ready to read lots of new books
and some Shakespeare because I have not read a lot of his work before. I had a great summer

I sure did have fun. The first trip I went on this summer was to New Orleans, which was pretty

Overall Las Vegas was probably the best part of my summer and I am lucky to have an amazing
family to enjoy it with. Other than the two trips I went on this summer, I did not do a lot
because my parents were busy with work and my sister was busy with summer classes. I was
busy every morning for football though because we had to be at Braden River every morning at
7:30. The only good part about waking up early was that when I was done I still had most of the
day to go fishing or do anything. Workouts really help out at the beginning of the season though
because it makes us ready and strong for the whole season. Besides having football every
morning, I went fishing a lot over the summer in lakes around my neighborhood. I at least
caught around 30 bass this summer because I was mostly fishing this summer when I had
nothing else to do. The only boring thing I had to do this summer was taking drivers ed online,
so I am prepared to take my permit test when I turn 15. The whole summer was filled with fun,
but it seemed like it went by very fast. The only reason it probably went by fast was because time
flys when your having fun. With all the fun happening this year my dog probably had the least
amount of fun because while we were on vacation he was at the vet. I have a miniature
Dachshund and he is my sisters little angel because he will follow her where ever she goes. The
worst part about the end of summer is that my sister Kiana has to go back to

Introduction It is completely legal for any citizen to seek medical attention at liberty, but the task
of explaining the need of acquiring medical services when needed has been proven to be arduous.

However, as realized by Aravind s manager, the uptake of services in the rural area declined due
to lack of awareness. The decline was predominant, since awareness is a crucial vehicle of
marketing. The rural population was supposed to be informed about the necessity of eye care, and
educated on why surgery should be considered as the best possible solution in some
circumstances. The lack of awareness became a major issue when the doctors realized that cataract
was the major problem and the only solution was surgery. It was indeed very challenging since
there is no alternative other than providing the quality of care that best suits the patient.
Inconsistency Even though the case study doesn t specify on cases of inconsistency during service
delivery, some events make the hospital s personnel prone to inconsistency. The healthcare journal
defines inconsistency as the inability to offer the replica of services to the patient due to nature of
treatment. Firstly, there is an increased number of doctors in the hospital. The subordinate staff
includes village girls aged between 17 19 years old. These young women are expected to help
professionals on their assignments. It is highly likely that the existences of circumstances when
targets are not met is due to the clash between the high number of experts. Secondly, it is evident
from the case that

Summary Of The Theme Of A Inferior Of King George
From both of these eserpts, it is easy to find the similarities between the two themes. In Redburn,
His First Voyage, the theme is the confrontation between innocence and corruption; the readers
experience this as they read about him leaving home and the hardships he faces on his journey. In
A Salior of King George, it also shows theme indicating the slow corruptionof innocence. This is
determined because in the exerpt it tells of a boythat wants to join the Navy and it even says that he
is excited about somthing he knew nothing about. In these words it gives indication that although
he is excited about joining the Navy, he knows nothing about the heartache and pain he is about to
be faced with, this is his innocence and in alot of ways his ignorance. There are many similiarities
within both of the themes of the excerpts that pull the stories together. However, there are still
many differences between them that are hard to ignore.
The similarities that I found between the two include the theme of corruption of innocence, the
setting revolving around voyaging on boats, and that in both of these stories they tell the tale of
boys becoming men through harsh and unforgiving circumstances. In the exerpts Redburn, His
First Voyage and A Salior of King George both of the stories share a similar theme which is that of
the corruption of innocence, this is seen in the first exerpt as Redburn leaves his home and realizes
that the world is cold and unforgiving. Redburn leaves his

The Childhood Of A Hispanic Girl
As a hispanic girl, the typical dream which is expected of us is to want to have a quinceanera.
Which would be a large party for the transition from childhood to adulthood. However this wasn t
the way it went for me. My dreams where different. I could honestly care less about having a
huge party to celebrate me turning 15. Of course it would be great experience to have one and it is
a once in a lifetime thing as you can only turn 15 once. Yet, I tend to not want this but at the same
timeI long having one. This wouldn t be for the attention that is give or presents or anything you
would expect. I would want it so that I could fulfill a long termdream. One which I have held onto
for many years. I d do it, only in order to be able to meet my other biological parent. Growing up
my biological father was not present. Thus he fails to appear in many of my childhood
memories. However, if you were to ask any other person, chances are they know their father. If
not, they do remember him and have a piece of him in their memory. Yet, this isn t my case.
Therefore growing up I made it a long term goal to meet my father. Yes, I may have meet him
during the first few years of my life, as he was present there. However my memory does not trace
back up to that point. I also do not have any pictures of him. I have been told that I show much
resemblance to him, so I imagine him to have some of my own characteristics and features. His
voice is faded but remains in the back of my memory.

  • 2. Amebic Dysentery Research Papers Amebiasis caused when a single celled parasite called E. histolytica enters the human body when a person ingests cysts through food or water. It can also enter the body through direct contact with fecal matter. The cysts are a relatively inactive form of the parasite that can live for several months in the soil or environment where they were deposited in feces. The microscopic cysts are present in the soil, fertilizer, or water that s been contaminated with infected feces. Food handlers may transmit the cysts while preparing or handling food. Transmission is also possible during anal sex or colonic irrigation. When cysts enter the body, they hunt in the digestive tract. They then release an invasive form of the parasite called a trophozoite. The... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the parasite enters your bloodstream, it can end up in your liver, heart, lungs, brain, or other organs, where it causes tissue destruction and abscess. The liver is a frequent destination for the parasite. Symptoms of amebic liver disease include fever and tenderness in the upper right part of your torso Diagnosis A doctor may guess amebiasis after asking about your recent health and travel history. Your doctor may test you for the presence of E. histolytic. You may have to give stool samples over several days to screen for the presence of cysts. Colin Powell and Maria Montessori have differing opinions about children and their structure and the people who teach them structure.Maria and Colin has differing views when it comes to teaching children by using a drill sergeant and a guiding teacher as uses of learning.Colin Powell says things in a way that makes the reader know that he believes in respect for elders and equality in all learning. To begin, Colin states, look up, open your eyes, stare straight ahead, and speak out your question loudly so everybody can hear. By saying this, he is saying that you need structure to look good and look respectable and that there is no reason to look like you re not respectable.Another example is, there is only 2 answers to a question, yes, sir and no excuse, sir He says this because he... Another example is, I make them come up and stand in front of me... This would offend some readers because some readers and people are shy and this can be humiliating. Maria Montessori uses language and word choice to make phases that might be offensive to readers less offensive. Maria Montessori uses things that are offensive to readers, such as, provided that he be left free in his movements and his experiments... Thought the song many events are listed until the chorus comes along again to remind the listener the they did not start the fire. The fire in this song that Billy Joelspeaks of are crazy and shocking events in the world not only being generally harmful to the public but events that changed how people viewed things. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With the song being so different from an average song, it makes the song feel filled in the verses, with all of the events that he provides, in the short time that the song plays. The song s verses are entirely evidence for Billy Joel s claim that the fire had not been started by him or his group and with so many examples, there is no time to put reasoning behind it but rather connect the ideas to the major point, being the chorus. With so many examples one after another as the song continues through its verses Billy Joel is listing as many examples as he can to prove the point of the fire having been already started. As he lists these events he is pushing forward so many examples against the argument without taking any look at another side which shows how he is not only annoyed by the claim that he did start the fire but also how he wants to push his side. A great leader is just like a great conductor being in a leadership role one has to find the best way of seeing things from a different perspective. Like an orchestra conductor, being a leader within an organization bears the same challenges trying to create perfect harmony among the different variables in your business to ensure your organization creates beautiful products and profits, (Leaders, March 2013). Ebay and Business Structures 1,083 Rebecca Payne ECO2023 Pray 11 19 2012 eBay amp; Weird Al Business Structures There are a variety of different business structures that comprise the market in the world today. The most common ones found in the business world today are sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. From these you will also find monopolies and oligopolies. Economists assume there are a number of different buyers and sellers in the market which leads to competition which allows prices to change in response to changes in supply and demand.(1) In many industries you there are substitutes for products, so if one type of product becomes too expensive the consumer can choose an alternative product that is cheaper, or one of better quality.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the goods and services sold on eBay can be considered perfectly competitive. There is a multitude of buyers, or producers, and consumers have options with substitutes. Most of the products sold within their category are similar and for the quality of the product, they are typically within the same price range of one another, and each individual seller chooses their price based on other similar goods sold on the site. Ebay, as a company itself, fits more in the category of an oligopoly, which is actually pretty common in any market. Other alternative websites include Yahoo!, Amazon, and Quibids, but there are only a small number of them, certainly not hundreds as in monopolistic competition. Also, eBay is interdependent on the few other auction website companies, competing with the fees they charge, as well as quality of customer support, and buyer /seller reliability. Another characteristic of eBay that coincides with it being considered an oligopoly is the fact that it has numerous entry barriers. It s such a large company with many restrictions, and it would be hard for an up and coming substitute auction website to break into the market and compete with eBay or the other top companies in the industry. (6) Weird Al Yankovic, through his humor, gives a pretty accurate description of how eBay works. Though obviously made as a joke, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The adoption of this technique not only allowed multiple questions that would delve into the athlete s thoughts but it also brought about the ability for probing questions to be asked. Throughout the interview it quickly became evident that the athlete was focused on winning. However, once the initial opening questions were completed, nerves quickly settled, this was partly due to the fact that the interview technique allowed for myself to ask the interviewee to expand on certain points. Therefore, pressing focus not on to my delivery but the actual details and explanations of the interviewees answers. In the evaluation of the interview, I would say that I produced well executed links between the athlete s verbal answers and his answers produced in TOPS 2, whilst also avoiding any reliance on the TOPS 2 results by withholding some information and seeing if the interviewees answers matched up with the TOPS 2. However, I felt my nerves were unfortunately allowed to impact my initial interviewing prowess, which led to possible opportunities at the beginning where the athlete could have elaborated on certain points, being missed. The interview as a whole I feel went well. I gained a variety of information about the athlete, which included pieces that I could have not otherwise learnt purely from analysis the TOPS 2 scores. In hindsight, it was never going to be the perfect example of how to conduct yourself as an interviewer, in the context of presenting the correct balance between set questions and questions that delve for more detail. These questions could have also had a stronger relationship to future events. Although I briefly touched on his immediate next match, I could have had the athlete expand on why he knew he would be using imagery and which other performance factors would be present. In the future, my interview technique will be supported by a larger number of set questions and therefore, I feel this would cause a positive impact on my nerves previous to the interview. ... This essay also used a pathetic appeal to sway the reader. Ellison wrote descriptively about the events that made the invisible man who he was. All of the examples were extraordinarily evocative in depicting the way the invisible man made it through life. From the paradigm of the invisible man and his encounter with the blond man, to the portrayal of the former slave woman, Ellison captivated the audience. I kicked him repeatedly, in a frenzy because he still uttered insults though his lips were frothy with blood , illustrates the invisible mans hate toward the blond man who offended him first. This dramatic recourse pales in comparison to the account of the former slave woman. When recalling a dream the invisible man recites a tale of a woman who loved her former master even though he would not free her or her children that her master fathered. • 15. A Brief Note On Internal Medicine And Nursing Essay People are my passion! I wake up each morning praying that I make a positive impact in someone s life. The value of my life lies not on personal achievement and possessions but on how profitable I have been to my neighbor and my world. This belief, no doubt has influenced my choice of career and specialty. Internal medicineis my number one specialty. I love this specialty because it provides me the opportunity to solve varied medical problems ranging from acute care to management of chronic disease. Just like solving a puzzle, an internist applies critical thinking, sound science in preventing, diagnosing and treating varied adult diseases. Internal Medicine is an ever evolving discipline and requires continuous and persistent updating of one s knowledge. This sits well with my massive appetite of reading. I enjoy the challenges the specialty presents. I love the fact that an internist provides consults to other physicians in disease diagnosis and work as primary care physician. The broad subspecialties in internal medicine match and exceeds my perception of a complete doctor. From a young age, my parents taught me to care and serve others. Although they had very little western education, my parents became successful business owners and community leaders largely due to hard work and dedicated service to people. The perpetual presence of light and dark imagery effectively strengthens the dramatic aspects of catharsis, anagnorisis and mimesis. As an individual, Oedipus possesses the unfortunate attribute of hubris; his ego ultimately causes his tragic demise and convincingly elicits catharsis, an emotional outcry from the spectators. Within this quotation, the light metaphorically exemplifies knowledge and principle, while the darkness establishes the presence of ignorance and deception. Oedipus does not suggest that Tiraeus, a blind male, is incapable of hurting him, but rather, that the seer s falsehood cannot damage his stature. Oedipus arrogance renders him to the point where he is incapable of interpreting the truth of his origins and profoundly desires to maintain his authority as the sovereign of Thebes. Consequently, his conduct incites catharsis from the audience as they witness the gradual collapse of a prominent, dramatic figure. Sophocles additionally utilises imagery to reinforce his clutch on the sentiments of the audience, during Oedipus revelation to the truth of his origins. In agony and grief, he states, I am deserted, dark, and where is sorrow stumbling? Whence flits that voice so near? Where, demon, will you drive me (Sophocles 72). Oedipus exposes his vulnerability and sorrowful nature, as he learns that his ignorance blinds his sense of practicality. Sophocles utilises the terms, deserted (Sophocles 72) and dark (Sophocles 72) to exemplify the monarch s impression of blindness and abandonment after his horrific actions. • 18. Analysis Of A Thousand And One Nights A Thousand and One Nights is a tale about the over sexed east which is favored by the sexually repressed west when applied to and analyzed under the lens of Orientalism. This translation of the text, while not as sexually explicit as Sir Richard Burton s translation, has its fair amount of sexual promiscuity which paints the middle eastern characters as dishonest, violent, and sexually deviant. These traits were seen as socially taboo to the west, especially those in Victorian Europe who helped the tale gain its reputation as a popular exotic story. The two main scenes where these traits come into play both take place within A Thousand and One Nights frame story with Shahrayar and Shahzarman. Shahzarman kills his adulterous wife and her lover then leaves to visit Shahrayar in his kingdom. When Shahrayar s wife and servants are caught in the act they are killed and Shahrayar vows to kill his future brides on their wedding nights which is when Shahrazad attempts to bring him to his senses. The two brothers are extremely hot headed and violent and their wives are plagued by insatiable lust, which plays into the sexually charged barbarity perpetuated by Orientalism. Honor was a competitive concept in Greek society. This held true not only for individuals but also for the highly competitive city states or poleis. Hence they were constantly at war with each other whether to add to their holdings or on issues of politics with the losing side ending up enslaved (for example the Messenians who were defeated and enslaved by the Spartans). This constant internal military pressure was the very catalyst that caused gradual changes over hundreds of years. Since kings were hereditary therefore it was always not possible to find a capable general as well as administrator in one person. The inevitable result was that the ancient warrior class the aristocrats who formed the bulk of the army as the cavalry by virtue of owning horses took the power of the general for themselves. This was the beginning of the second stage in the development of the constitution. Thus the office of Polemarch (leader in war) was instituted due to incompetence in war of some kings (Aristotle and Xenophon, p: 148). Consequently the office of Archon was established to manage the administration of the state and now the king, who was called King Archon, was left with only the vestigial religious functions. According to Aristotle, for the early offices the tenure was initially for life and then for ten years. Though his descriptions ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, when sensitive information is shared and a Privacy Protection Mechanism (PPM) is not in place, an authorized user can still compromise the privacy of a person leading to identity disclosure. A PPM can use suppression and generalization of relational data to anonymize and satisfy privacy requirements, e.g., k anonymity and l diversity, against identity and attribute disclosure. However, privacy is achieved at the cost of precision of authorized information., we propose an accuracy constrained privacy preserving access controlframework. The access control policies define selection predicates available to roles while the privacy requirement is to satisfy the k anonymity or l diversity. An additional constraint that needs to be satisfied by the PPM is the imprecision bound for each selection predicate. The techniques for workload aware anonymization for selection predicates have been discussed in the literature. However, to the best of our knowledge, the problem of satisfying the accuracy constraints for multiple roles has not been studied before. In our formulation of the aforementioned problem, we propose heuristics for anonymization algorithms and show empirically that the proposed approach satisfies imprecision bounds for more permissions and has lower total imprecision than the current state of the art. • 34. Essay On How Did The North s Industry Lead To Northern... To What Extent did the North s Industry lead to Northern Victory? The North s industrial dominance was a major factor of why the won the war as it was an underlying factor to the other aspects of how they won. Through the North s industrial prominence it allowed them to be a much more versatile and flexible army through transportation, population and financial supremacy. The Northern industry allowed them to produce war goods and to be an independent economy, which had a major play to their success in the war. The lack of emphasis on manufacturing and commercial interest, stemming from the Southern desire to preserve their traditional agricultural society, disadvantaging themselves to the North and their ability to function independently. It was neither Northern troops nor generals that won the Civil War, rather Northern guns and industry. This made it to expensive for the South to import goods from overseas and forced them to rely on the booming Northern economy. • 35. The And Collective Memory Of The First World War Contemporary Canadian reimagining of the First World war is from the book Catching the torch by a Brock University teacher Neta Gordon. She wrote this book in 2014. She tries to explain to the reader the conflict between history and collective memory of the First World War. With many other essays, she focuses on the role of the Canadian army in the First World war. As we know, the Canadian army entered the war in early 1915 to offer help to the Britain soldiers fighting against the Germans. The Canadian army was basically forced to join because they were a member of the British Empire. On the one hand, Gordon quotes from Jonathan Vance s Death So Noble: Memory, meaning and the First world war: the dominant or collective memory of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Most of the work that Gordon studied and with the publication date from this book, we can also say that collective memory is not a whole. Most of the soldiers are dead at this time and she had to rely on works that were published years later after the First War. Gordon quoted Winter in the first few chapters of her book, he stated: This sense of the socially constructed nature of collective memory is vital to historical study, since it precludes talking about memory as if it exists independently of the people who share it (2). From what I understand from the few pages that we had to read and with my research done with the whole book, the collective memory is based on the present memory, but since the soldiers they rely on are no longer in a group or in the same place, it is mostly a memory from one person. Another thing she said that made me realize how true her statement was with the novel that we studied during this term. She stated that: many of the narratives this volume examines rehabilitate the figure of the father and/or conception of productive masculinity; many follow in the tradition of early twentieth century home front novels by women to consider the value of female work, in wartime and beyond [...] and most conclude with a look to the future (which is now the present) and a sense of promise that is decidedly free from irony. This happens because companies usually have little information about the new market as well as marketing infrastructure to penetrate it. However, companies treat entry into foreign markets as an extension of their business, which adds incremental revenue for their products and services. Additionally, firms pursue foreign business opportunities to minimize risk and investment thereby increasing their total sales and profits. • 37. Science, Technology And The Nightly News Essay Science, Technology and the Nightly News Introduction It s not uncommon for a news audience to run across stories or headlines about science that seem too good to be true. Headlines such as, Scientist Say Smelling Farts Might Prevent Cancer, (Stampler, 2014) or Bananas as good as drugs for treating HIV, say scientists. (Arkless Gray, 2010) Not only are these headlines flashy enough to get the attention of a wide audience, but they go beyond distributing the facts to wade into the waters of Yellow Journalism. In fact, much of the news distributed today might be considered such milky fare even by passive audience members. A 2013 Pew Research Center study found that 31 percent of U.S. adults have left a news outlet that no longer meets their needs. The reason for the exodus? More than 60 percent say the stories are less complete while another 23.5 percent claim there are fewer stories provided by these news outlets. One might wonder how such claims could be made in these times of 24 hour news cycles and breaking news distributed across the web through social media at warp speed. A closer look at the same Pew study reveals a startling fact about factual news content on cable news channels. Of the big three cable news channels (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC) only one provides more than 50 percent of factual news content. So to make the net present value positive we would have to change something. We first started by adding 10% to the utilization for every year. This alone didn t make a huge difference so we had to additionally lower the hourly wage to $18.19/hr. This gave us a net present value of about $35,000. This seems unreasonable or at the very least unfair to lower each worker s hourly wage while increasing the workload. The second way we tried to get the net present value positive was by just decreasing the hourly wage of each employee from $20/hr to $16.02/hr. This gave us a net present value of about $33,000. This seems like a more reasonable solution, but it is dangerous because it could cause workers to quit. Therefore we wouldn t recommend this project. Both solutions that lead to a positive net present value are too extreme and risky. Also this only leads to a positive net present value, not an extremely profitable one. We proposed that a strict definition for smartphone related functional impairment, requiring two or more functional impairment criteria influenced by smartphone use. Compared to computer based Internet addiction, the portability of smartphones dampens the severity of functional impairment associated with smartphone addiction, but instead influences multiple domains of an individual s daily life. In A Salior of King George, it also shows theme indicating the slow corruptionof innocence. This is determined because in the exerpt it tells of a boythat wants to join the Navy and it even says that he is excited about somthing he knew nothing about. In these words it gives indication that although he is excited about joining the Navy, he knows nothing about the heartache and pain he is about to be faced with, this is his innocence and in alot of ways his ignorance.
