Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. 2. AMPLIFICADORES TRANSISTORIZADOS MULTIETAPA
Los amplificadores multietapa son circuitos electrónicos formados por varios
transistores (BJT o FET), que pueden ser acoplados en forma directa o mediante
capacitores. Las configuraciones clásicas son el par Darlington (alta impedancia
de entrada e incremento de la ganancia de corriente), el par diferencial (Relación
de rechazo en modo común elevada), el amplificador cascode (alta impedancia de
salida).
Un amplificador se describe como un circuito capaz de procesar las señales de
acuerdo a la naturaleza de su aplicación. El amplificador sabrá extraer la
información de toda señal, de tal manera que permita mantener o mejorar la
prestación del sistema que genera la señal (sensor o transductor usado para la
aplicación).
Se llama amplificador multietapa a los circuitos o sistemas que tienen múltiples
transistores y además pueden ser conectadas entre sí para mejorar sus
respuestas tanto en ganancia, impedancia de entrada (Zin), impedancia de salida
(Zout) o ancho de banda. La aplicaciones pueden ser tanto de CC como de CA.
PAR DE RETROALIMENTACIÓN
Un Amplificador con realimentación, es un circuito electrónico, generalmente
integrado, que tiene dos entradas y una salida. La salida es la diferencia de las
dos entradas multiplicada por un factor de ganancia. El amplificador con
realimentación es una alternativa a los amplificadores con realimentación en
voltaje, también llamados operacionales. Los amplificadores se clasifican en
cuatro amplias categorías:
Amplificador de tensión
Este circuito se denomina amplificador de tensión porque suministra una
tensión de salida proporcional a la de entrada y el factor de proporcionalidad es
3. independiente de las magnitudes de las resistencias de fuente y de carga. Un
amplificador de tensión ideal sería aquel que tuviera una Ri infinita y una Ro nula.
Amplificador de corriente
Un amplificador de corriente ideal es aquel que suministra una corriente de
salida proporcional a la corriente de señal, siendo el factor de proporcionalidad
independiente de Rs y RL.
Amplificador de transconductancia
El amplificador ideal de transconductancia suministra una corriente de salida
que es proporcional a la tensión de señal, independientemente de las magnitudes
de Rs y RL.
Amplificador de transresistencia
Suministra una tensión de salida Vo proporcional a la corriente de señal Is,
independientemente de Rs y RL.
Circuito Amplificador Diferencial
Un dispositivo que amplifica la diferencia entre dos voltajes de entrada, pero
que suprime cualquier voltaje común a dichas entradas.1Es un circuito
analógico con dos entradas denominadas entrada inversora (Vin-) y entrada no
inversora (Vin+) y una sola salida (Vout) la cual es idealmente proporcional a la
diferencia entre los dos voltajes, según la siguiente ecuación:
𝑉𝑜𝑢𝑡 = 𝐴𝑑(𝑉𝑖𝑛+ − 𝑉𝑖𝑛−)
Donde el factor de proporcionalidad (Ad) es la ganancia diferencial del
amplificador.
Ya que el circuito dispone dos entradas y dos salidas de señal, existen cuatro
configuraciones posibles realizando las distintas combinaciones entre entradas y
salida.
4. Configuraciones
Entrada y salida simétrica
Es la forma más típica de un amplificador diferencial, tiene dos entrada v1 y v2,
El voltaje de salida se obtiene de la diferencia entre las salidas de los colectores.
Entrada asimétrica y salida simétrica
En algunas aplicaciones sólo se usa uno de los terminales de entrada con la
otra conectada a tierra, mientras que la salida se obtiene entre los colectores de
los dos transistores del circuito.
Entrada simétrica y salida asimétrica
Esta es la forma más practica y utilizada porque puede excitar cargas
asimétricas o de un solo terminal como lo hacen los amplificadores EC, emisor
seguidor y otros circuitos. Esta etapa es la que se usa para la etapa de entrada de
la mayor parte de los Amplificadores Operacionales comerciales. Presenta dos
entradas de señal para las bases de cada transistor mientras que la salida se
obtiene únicamente de uno de los colectores respecto a masa.
Entrada y salida asimétrica
Esta configuración presenta tanto para la entrada como para la salida un único
terminal. Este tipo de configuración es útil para las etapas de acoplamiento directo
donde se requiere sólo amplificar una entrada. Esta configuración es la que se
solicita en las especificaciones de la práctica.
