Grounding helps people connect with their body and surroundings to facilitate affect regulation. Mindfulness exercises can help send thoughts of contentment to others, even those who cause deregulation. Forgiveness is releasing the desire for revenge and observing reality without having to agree with it, to reduce secondary anger reactions. The goal is achieving a state of self-regulation to make responsible decisions and maintain healthy relationships.
