Particle Swarm Optimization Based QoS Aware Routing for Wireless Sensor Networksijsrd.com
Efficiency in a Wireless Sensor Network can only be obtained with effective routing mechanisms. This paper uses Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO, a metaheuristic algorithm to perform the process of routing. Since PSO does not have a defined fitness function, it is flexible to incorporate user defined QoS parameters to define the fitness function.
Energy Conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Cluster-Based ApproachIJRES Journal
In a wireless networking environment, the network is comprised of sensor nodes and backbones are subsets of sensors or actuators that suffice for performing basic data communication operations. They are applied for energy efficient broadcasting. In a broadcasting (also known as data dissemination) task, a message is to be sent from one node, which could be a sink or an actuator, to all the sensors or all the actuators in the network. The goal is to minimize the number of rebroadcasts while attempting to deliver messages to all sensors or actuators. Neighbor detection and route discovery algorithms that consider a realistic physical layer are described. An adaptive broadcasting protocol without parameters suitable for delay tolerant networks is further discussed. In existing solutions for minimal energy broadcasting problem, nodes can adjust their transmission powers. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are sets of many sensors that gather data and collaborate together. So, the procedures of broadcast or multicast are more important than traditional point-to-point communication in computer network. This paper focuses on broadcasting in structured WSNs. In such a kind, the procedure of network communications is easier than in unstructured WSNs. Thus, it will make an overview of Multi Point Relay (MPR) to show its weakness. Then define a cluster-based architecture for WSNs which is constructed using MPR. Next, provide a new broadcast algorithm based on the previous cluster architecture called 3B (Backbone Based Broadcasting). By the end, an illustration of 3B shows that it minimizes the energy consumption for accomplishing broadcast compared to MPR.

Outstanding advancements in imaging technology have made cryogenic electron microscopy a powerful technique for the nanocharacterization of biological macromolecular complexes, reaching atomic levels of resolution and being applicable to a wider set of samples than the other competing technologies. The real breakthrough in the development of cryo-EM has happened less than a decade ago, with the introduction of direct detection devices. These cameras allow unprecedented speed and resolution, and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab is developing a new detector, the 4D cam- era, that can operate at 87000 frames per second, revealing exclusive temporal dynamics of the investigated processes.
The current bottlenecks of the 4D camera, however, are the management of the large amount of data generated (around 50 GB/s) and the intrinsic noise level characterizing the signal acquired at that speed. Yet, the high frame rate enables the recognition of single electrons when they strike the detector, as opposed to traditional electron microscopy, where the charge is cumulated for every frame. Electron counting has remarkable advantages since it completely rejects electrical background noise as well as the variability in the electron charge deposition phenomena and it dramatically compresses images by saving them as lists of events coordinates.
With this work, the counting efficiency of the algorithm is enhanced, through the introduction of a denoising step before thresholding out the background noise, rising the precision by 7.11% with respect to the reference implementation. Furthermore, the localization of the events is refined to allow super-resolution, and a classification step is added to reduce the is- sue of collision losses, caused by overlapping electrons. In the end, a 10000x compression ratio is achieved thanks to electron counting. A GPU acceleration of the final algorithm is also proposed, achieving, in the best case, a speed up of 284x. The timing performances of the developed tool, in fact, are crucial for its real time execution on the microscope output.
Ultimately, this work aims at enabling a more efficient data management between the microscopy center and the supercomputing facility, both involved in the data processing pipeline, by moving part of the computation towards the instrumentation and transferring only a compressed version of the datasets. The intelligent redistribution of workloads, in fact, removes the bottleneck in data transfer and grants the use of the microscope at its maximum frame rate.
A New Method for Reducing Energy Consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks usin...Editor IJCATR
Nowadays, wireless sensor networks, clustering protocol based on the neighboring nodes into separate clusters and fault
tolerance for each cluster exists for sensors to send information to the base station, to gain the best performance in terms of increased
longevity and maintain tolerance than with other routing methods. However, most clustering protocols proposed so far, only
geographical proximity (neighboring) cluster formation is considered as a parameter. In this study, a new clustering protocol and fault
tolerance based on the fuzzy algorithms are able to clustering nodes in sensor networks based on fuzzy logic and fault tolerance. This
protocol uses clustering sensor nodes and fault tolerance exist in the network to reduce energy consumption, so that faulty sensors
from neighboring nodes are used to cover the errors, work based on the most criteria overlay neighbor sensors with defective sensors,
distance neighbor sensors from fault sensor and distance neighbor sensors from central station is done. Superior performance of the
protocol can be seen in terms of increasing the network lifetime and maintain the best network tolerance in comparison with previous
protocols such as LEACH in the simulation results.
Wide-band spectrum sensing with convolution neural network using spectral cor...IJECEIAES
Recognition of signals is a spectrum sensing challenge requiring simultaneous detection, temporal and spectral localization, and classification. In this approach, we present the convolution neural network (CNN) architecture, a powerful portrayal of the cyclo-stationarity trademark, for remote range detection and sign acknowledgment. Spectral correlation function is used along with CNN. In two scenarios, method-1 and method-2, the suggested approach is used to categorize wireless signals without any previous knowledge. Signals are detected and classified simultaneously in method-1. In method-2, the sensing and classification procedures take place sequentially. In contrast to conventional spectrum sensing techniques, the proposed CNN technique need not bother with a factual judgment process or past information on the signs’ separating qualities. The method beats both conventional sensing methods and signal-classifying deep learning networks when used to analyze real-world, over-the-air data in cellular bands. Despite the implementation’s emphasis on cellular signals, any signal having cyclo-stationary properties may be detected and classified using the provided approach. The proposed model has achieved more than 90% of testing accuracy at 15 dB.
Fast and accurate primary user detection with machine learning techniques for...nooriasukmaningtyas
Spectrum decision is an important and crucial task for the secondary user to avail the unlicensed spectrum for transmission. Managing the spectrum is an efficient one for spectrum sensing. Determining the primary user presence in the spectrum is an essential work for using the licensed spectrum of primary user. The information which lacks in managing the spectrum are the information about the primary user presence, accuracy in determining the existence of user in the spectrum, the cost for computation and difficult in finding the user in low signal-to noise ratio (SNR) values. The proposed system overcomes the above limitations. In the proposed system, the various techniques of machine learning like decision tree, support vector machines, naive bayes, ensemble based trees, nearest neighbour’s and logistic regression are used for testing the algorithm. As a first step, the spectrum sensing is done in two stages with orthogonal frequency division multiplexing and energy detection algorithm at the various values of SNR. The results generated from the above algorithm is used for database generation. Next, the different machine learning techniques are trained and compared for the results produced by different algorithms with the characteristics like speed, time taken for training and accuracy in prediction. The accuracy and finding the presence of the user in the spectrum at low SNR values are achieved by all the algorithms. The computation cost of the algorithm differs from each other. Among the tested techniques, k-nearest neighbour (KNN) algorithm produces the better performance in a minimized time.
Ameliorate the performance using soft computing approaches in wireless networksIJECEIAES
Wireless sensor networks are an innovative and rapidly advanced network occupying the broad spectrum of wireless networks. It works on the principle of “use with less expense, effort and with more comfort.” In these networks, routing provides efficient and effective data transmission between different sources to access points using the clustering technique. This work addresses the low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) protocol’s main backdrop of choosing head nodes based on a random value. In this, the soft computing methods are used, namely the fuzzy approach, to overcome this barrier in LEACH. Our approach’s primary goal is to extend the network lifetime with efficient energy consumption and by choosing the appropriate head node in each cluster based on the fuzzy parameters. The proposed clustering algorithm focused on two fuzzy inference structures, namely Mamdani and Sugeno fuzzy logic models in two scenarios, respectively. We compared our approach with four existing works, the conventional LEACH, LEACH using the fuzzy method, multicriteria cluster head delegation, and fuzzy-based energy efficient clustering approach (FEECA) in wireless sensor network. The proposed scenario based fuzzy LEACH protocol approaches are better than the four existing methods regarding stability, network survivability, and energy consumption.
Experimental simulation and real world study on wi fi ad-hoc mode for differe...Nazmul Hossain Rakib
The Ad-Hoc mode for wireless communication is not used frequently. But the demand for Wi-Fi communication is continuously increasing as use of Smart-phones and Laptops has enormously popular recent years. Through Ad-Hoc mode users can communicate point to point with mobility feature without using any central BSS. Wireless Ad-Hoc mode uses electromagnetic wave and so this technology has losses and limitations caused by free space propagation media as well as attenuation for interferences.
Reliable and Efficient Data Acquisition in Wireless Sensor NetworkIJMTST Journal
The sensors in the WSN sense the surrounding, collects the data and transfers the data to the sink node. It
has been observed that the sensor nodes are deactivated or damaged when exposed to certain radiations or
due to energy problems. This damage leads to the temporary isolation of the nodes from the network which
results in the formation of the holes. These holes are dynamic in nature and can grow and shrink depending
upon the factors causing the damage to the sensor nodes. So a solution has been presented in the base paper
where the dual mode i.e. Radio frequency and the Acoustic mode are considered so that the data can be
transferred easily. Based on this a survey has been done where several factors are studied so that the
performance of the system can be increased.
Comparative study between metaheuristic algorithms for internet of things wir...IJECEIAES
Wireless networks are currently used in a wide range of healthcare, military, or environmental applications. Wireless networks contain many nodes and sensors that have many limitations, including limited power, limited processing, and narrow range. Therefore, determining the coordinates of the location of a node of the unknown location at a low cost and a limited treatment is one of the most important challenges facing this field. There are many meta-heuristic algorithms that help in identifying unknown nodes for some known nodes. In this manuscript, hybrid metaheuristic optimization algorithms such as grey wolf optimization and salp swarm algorithm are used to solve localization problem of internet of things (IoT) sensors. Several experiments are conducted on every meta-heuristic optimization algorithm to compare them with the proposed method. The proposed algorithm achieved high accuracy with low error rate (0.001) and low power consumption.

Invited Speaker (1) : CupCarbon simulator: Simulating the D-LPCN algorithm to find the
boundary nodes of a WSN by Professor Ahcene Bounceur, University of Bretagne Occidentale,
Brest, France
Abstract: Finding the boundary and the clusters of a wireless
sensor network (WSN) can be modeled as the problem of
finding a polygon hull in a connected Euclidean graph, the
polygon hull representing a minimal set of connected
boundary nodes. This keynote presents a new algorithm called
D-LPCN (Distributed Least Polar-angle Connected Node), which
has two main advantages. The first one is that the algorithm
works with any type of connected network, given as planar or
not. Furthermore, it takes into account any blocking situation
and contains the necessary elements to avoid them. The
second advantage is that the algorithm can determine all the
clusters of the network. The proposed algorithm is validated
using the CupCarbon, Tossim and Contiki simulators. It has also
been implemented using real sensor nodes based on the
TelosB and Arduino/XBee platforms. The energy consumption
of the network is estimated and depends on the number of
the boundary nodes and their neighbors. The simulation
results show that the D-LPCN algorithm is less energy
consuming than the existing algorithms.
Ahcene Bounceur is an associate professor (HDR and qualified
for professorship) of Computer Science and Operations
