The student's research helped with their product design by providing ideas from existing products. They got the idea to add a Gaussian blur background from one product and a two-page layout from another. Planning helped by allowing the addition of images and previsualization of design elements like the blurred background and prominent placement of a car image. Time management was good, with initial tasks completed quickly to allow for production experiments and research into other magazine designs for ideas.

2. Research
• My research helped me with my product because I got to have a look at all
sorts of different existing products where I could get ideas from to help
me create my magazine. The first product that I researched I got the idea
to add a gaussian blur to the background because I thought it looked good.
The second product that I researched helped me with the layout of my
magazine that I used. I wanted my title at the top and also something at
the bottom. I sort of got the idea from the double page spread for my
double page spread but then I wanted to change it to something that
would be better to give out more information.

3. Planning
• My planning helped me with my final product because I got to add
different images that I could find and put them into my product. I got to
plan out everything before I created it in a mind map. I knew that I wanted
to make the background have a gaussian blur and put the car over the top
of it to make it stand out. Also having a schedule helped me out for my
project because I could manage everything well and try my best to get
everything in.

4. Time Management
• I think I managed my time well because I got the first few powerpoints
done quickly and then I moved onto the production experiments. I
enjoyed researching about other products because I got to have a look at
how other designers would set out a magazine so I could also get my own
ideas from them. I then started planning different ideas of what I wanted
my magazine to look like and what subject I wanted to do it on. I got to
look at all sorts of different fonts that could have had potential to fit into
my magazine. If I had more time to produce my work I would of made my
own logo design to add onto the magazine. This would of helped the
magazine because people might like the first one so if they recognize the
logo then they might end up buying the second one.

5. Technical Qualities
Some of the similarities of my work and the other existing product is that we both
have cars on the front cover that will attract people who are interested in cars. Also
another aspect that they have in common is that they both have a main header to let
people know what the magazine is called. Another thing that we both have is a main
cover line and this shows what the main subject the inside of the magazine is about.

6. Aesthetic Qualities
I think my work looks good because I made the car stand out from
everything else. Also I like the colour scheme I used because the fonts are
the same colour as the car. Also another aspect that I like from the front
cover is that the background has a gaussian blur so everything it makes
everything that is in front of it pop out more. What I like about my
double page spread is that I have used my own picture for one of the
backgrounds. Also I gave out a lot of information about tesla and
included their logo. I think I have set everything out well with the cars
and text.

7. Audience Appeal
To appeal my target audience I made sure I kept it simple so that It would be
easier to read. If I made it too complicated then the audience might not of
been be able to understand what the magazine was about. Also another way
that I have made my product appeal to my target audience is that I have
added images of the cars, this will be good for the age range that I am
targeting because if they don’t know what the cars are then they can take a
look at the images. Also another aspect that I have done to appeal to my
target audience is that I have made the font easy to read and I have not used
any complicated words that the audience may not understand.
