June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
How to Make a Field invisible in Odoo 17Celine George
It is possible to hide or invisible some fields in odoo. Commonly using “invisible” attribute in the field definition to invisible the fields. This slide will show how to make a field invisible in odoo 17.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
3. Research-Strengths
• Strengths of my research were that I chose a popular existing products therefore I knew
that there was going to be a lot of research for me to do when it came to football
magazines.
• Another strength of my research was my planning when starting to research I had a list
of what aspects of the magazine I was going to search first whether that was the layout
of the front cover or the features that are inside a magazine such as advertisements,
etc.
• The research helped me when designing my product because it allowed me to get a
clear understanding of how magazines look and how they are laid out. I don’ t read
magazines therefore this part was crucial in order to help me make my magazine as
realistic as possible.
• The research also helped me when it came to what kind of pictures and amount of text
should be inside a magazine. I looked at many different magazines by different brands
such as FourFourTwo and world soccer. I used inspiration mainly from world soccer as I
felt it could relate better towards the kind of product I wanted to create.
• It also helped me when choosing my target audience because magazine such as match
of the day are aimed at younger target audiences as they are filled with more pictures
rather than text. I knew I wanted to create a magazine similar to that of a match day
programme for my local team, my reason for doing this is that it will target all age
academics from young to old.
4. Research- Weaknesses
• I felt the weaknesses of my research would be my time management, my reason for
choosing this is because I kept doing my research throughout the project instead of
making sure I had everything organised and planned out before I started my product.
• Another weakness of my research would be actually finding multiple sports magazines
to see if I could find something I liked instead of just following football magazines. For
example I may of found a different layout style I might of preferred from a rugby
magazine that I then could of made work with my football magazine.
• My colour scheme may have been a little bit weak, I kept my colours very similar as I
was being strict on myself when it came to the colours. I chose to keep a purple and
white theme because I wanted to keep a colour scheme that matched Goal Sports
colours. Looking at existing products such as world soccer and FourFourTwo they have a
general colour scheme however they have multiple different colours throughout the
magazine which I feel I should of tried to do more.
• A further weakness would be productivity and time management again because I feel
like I had not invested enough concentration into my product because I’m easily
distracted by other things such as spending time on YouTube watching videos about
football to see if I can get any ideas for my magazine instead of doing this in the
planning stage.
5. Planning- strengths
• Strengths to my planning I would say are that I knew what I wanted to create and I
knew the sources I was going to use as an example for me to create my magazine
and take inspiration from.
• I felt my organisation was good when it came to my planning as I knew what days I
was going to be gathering my photos and taking them and if I wasn’t able to get
them photos on the day I had a back up plan so that I was able to get photos for
my magazine no matter what.
• The layout of my magazine was good, because I had already planned the layout in
my planning It made it easier for me when it came to organising everything into
my magazine such as were certain images were going to be placed and how much
text I needed and what would make it visually nice.
• My planning helped my product because it allowed me to get on with creating
everything straight away rather than having to make it up as I go along and this
saved me lot of time.
6. Planning-Weaknesses
• Weaknesses in planning would be that I never researched all the possible existing
products I could of in order to be ale to get a wider understanding of similar
existing magazines to the one I wanted to create, this meant that my ideas for
layout and designs were narrowed.
• A further weakness of my planning would be concentration, I was to keen when it
came to choosing ideas I liked, I rushed into choosing them and typing them down
so that I wouldn’t forget but by doing this I let other good Ideas go the reason this
is a weakness is because after typing them down I forgot the other Ideas I had.
• Effects that this would have had on my product is that I wasn’t able to get other
ideas that might have been different to already existing products which could of
enhanced my magazine layout or design and content.
• Further effects that my weaknesses would have had of my magazines would have
been that I limited myself to mirroring football magazines where as if I would have
looked at different sport magazines then maybe it would have made my magazine
stand out because they might lay there magazines out differently and have
different features.
7. Time Management
• I feel my time management wasn’t the best however I feel it was effective.
• I managed to get my project finished on time and I was well organised when It
came to gathering photos and setting self targets and finishing them in time
such as finishing off a certain page of my magazine by a certain day.
• I feel my time management wasn’t the best when it came to researching existing
products because I feel like I wasted a lot of time on looking at videos on
YouTube about how to improve my magazine rather than looking at more
existing products.
• I think my products would have improved with additional time because this
would of allowed me to look and more existing products that weren’t just
football related to allow me to potentially take inspiration for certain designs or
enhance my ideas.
• If I would have had more time for my work I would of added other features as
maybe a website for my team were you could subscribe to a weekly online
magazine as well as the print. I also would of also had more professionalism
throughout my magazine because I would have had more time to make
inspiration form existing products and more time to make my editing better.
8. Technical Qualities
• My action shot on my magazine was taking during a football match by myself
using a cannon DLSR camera, for this shot I had to anticipate that there was
going to be an image worth capturing and luckily my gamble paid off.
• When editing the photo in Photoshop it was difficult to cut out the
background so that it left me with only the players and the ball. I wanted to
achieve this because I used an image of Anfield I took when I was there and
changed all the red inside the stadium to purple to give it more of a Goal
Sports effect.
• I decided to add a bit more depth into my magazine by putting a pattern
gradient over my purple background and I was very pleased with the result of
this decision. I did this because I felt the magazine I was taking inspiration
from the magazine which is quite old therefore I wanted to give it a rustic
look.
• Differences in the magazines are clearly the age of both magazines and as well
as that the image quality in both photos, you can see the existing product is
more distorted than mine.
9. Aesthetic Qualities
• I feel that my work does look good visually, I wanted to create a front cover that is plain, simple and
effective visually and I feel I have achieved that. The main reason my front cover was visually
appealing is because when your looking to buy a magazine your first attracted to the front cover
and I feel If my magazine was on a shelf it would be sold of its visual aspect.
• My overall work inside the magazine has a nice flow to it as well and it does look good. It was
definitely creative in my opinion because I added stuff in there such as the team formation and
where all the players play and I had not seen that in a magazine I had originally looked at for my
research.
• Also I created a page called quote that which is a page that is a bit light hearted and a humour page.
I feel that was a creative part of my magazine I had added.
• If I could improve my work I would improve the amount of different facts and knowledge and
advertisement in my magazine because I feel it was quite scarce in this area.
• I would also improve my colour scheme by adding more images an that aren’t so well fitting with
the colour scheme, id take a bit more of a risk.
• Weaknesses of my work aesthetic is possibly its quite bare is that is hasn’t really been filled like a
magazine, if I could do my aesthetic again I would defiantly make it more professional by filling it
with a lot more text and images. I feel it looks incomplete in certain areas of the magazine.
10. Audience Appeal
• My magazine doesn’t really fit in with my target audience because
they said that they didn’t have an interest in football therefore I
decided to choose my own target audience. I aimed my target
audience to an older age group due to the local supporters of Goal
Sports FC being older. Specific bits of content that would appeal to
my target audience would be the naming of the team and the players
positions and I think the advertisement for The Bay Horse because
the target audience is older therefore evening meals and drinks
would appeal to them a lot more.
• However I do has bits in my magazine that target a younger
audience such as the annual Fifa Tournament
12. Feedback 1-Randall Otieno
• What did you like about the product?
Well I’m not a fan of football but I did like the front cover of the magazine
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?I would say it needs better colour scheme because
after the front cover it looses its appearance.
13. Feedback 2-Jude Mcmichan
• What did you like about the product?
• I liked the front cover as I felt it was eye catching and I also liked the first page
where it introduces you to the team because you feel then you know the club
more.
• I also liked the way he showed you the formation of the team and the position
each player played
• What improvements could have been made to the
product?
• I feel the advertisement page should have been kept purple as well as I didn’t
think the white page fitted in with the rest of the magazine.
• Also I think he could improve on his information as I felt he filled up the pages
but there wasn’t a lot of facts or text.
14. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
• I agree with Randall’s comment about the front cover being visually
appealing and that after the front cover I may need to change the
colour scheme.
• I agree with Jude’s comment about the way the team is laid out
because I thought that was quite a nice idea.
• What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
• I disagree on Randall’s comment about it losing it’s visual
aspect as I do feel the colour scheme does contrast quite well.
• I don’t disagree with Jude as I feel the same way about his
improvements.
15. Peer Feedback Summary
• The changes that I would make upon feedback from my peers is everything that they
have said I could do to improve my magazine.
• First I would change the colour of the advertisement page from white to purple to
allow a nice consistent flow throughout my magazine.
• I will then also consider changing the colour purple to match the darker purple
gradient colour I've used for my front cover of my magazine as Jude and Randall both
praised my front cover.
• Also if I had more time I would add more information on the club, add more thorough
knowledge and information to my magazine.
• Overall I'm pleased with the constructive criticism I have received because it’s only
what I have said about my own work earlier on in the slide.
