Purpose;
The purpose of my video is to show people just what the realty of social media is and the dark side of It that maybe a lot of
adults don’t see that’s out there that their kids are exposed to. I want to show people that just by changing what gets
posted on social media allows a completely different change in the way kids act. Social Media is something that has taken
over everyone’s life in one way or another. My goal is to really stop all the hate and bad videos that get shown on social
media and make it a more positive place to learn.
The other reason for me choosing to do this is I feel people and families don’t spend as much time with one another
anymore like they should. My own family is like this, my parents don’t even really use the internet but on a night we all sit in
the living room after being away from each other all day and barely speak.
A lot of people can’t go a day without checking their phones and I think something needs to change.
My intended direction is to try and showcase how powerful the internet can be and how with a little help for banning the
bad stuff it can help educate kids for better rather than influence them into doing the wrongs things.
Basically I’m trying to say that the likes of the millennial generation aren’t growing up properly and there’s more crimes
being committed now than ever before and the reason I think this is because of the internet which exposes people to see
stuff they shouldn’t see and to give kids false reality.
Content Research
I haven’t got much content research due to the fact I haven’t looked at gathering my facts and statistics yet. Most of
my information I will source of the internet however few of my facts and knowledge will hopefully come from
interviewing people I know and asking them what they think and how they feel about social media and the impact
its having on people today.
My pictures I have gathered for my concept boards I have got from Google when typing in stuff related to the topic I
have chosen such as cyber bullying then selected a few photos I want to use.
Due to my video being on social media it’s quite hard to find interviews about social media that I can use for my
work because a lot of them just talk about the business aspect of it where as I want to talk about the dark side of it.
I have looked at a a couple of sources but I like one where it shows you the some questions they asked people and
peoples response to these questions, this works well for me.
On my research and initial ideas I have gathered a lot of links which I have then saved onto a slide. These links
contain a lot of statistics regarding facts and figures how many people use social media and the age rangers.
