My initial ideas for a short video include addressing wealth inequality and social status, the influence and negative aspects of social media, and illnesses and bullying. For wealth inequality, I would discuss how no one should feel uncomfortable due to their wealth or background and promote respect for all people. For social media, I see it as a powerful tool that also exposes youth to inappropriate content and influences behaviors. Regarding illnesses and bullying, I would discuss how bullying prevents people from seeking help for mental and physical illnesses and how suicide rates are affected.

The reason I haven chosen social media is because
everyone these days are on social media whether its
with just one app or multiple social media apps
almost everyone who's of an age to be able to use it
are on it. This is why I have chosen to consider social
media as one of my ideas because I believe today it
is more powerful than any weapons that are out
there but a lot of people are blind to it.
In order to be able to get my point across in just 5
minutes I am going to come up with some strong
statistics and some real events that have gone on
social media in order to give people a good insight to

people may not be able to see.

There are many reasons why I would like to do a video on football because it’s the
most popular sport on the planet therefore making a video for this would be a really
good idea because there's a lot of documentaries regarding football.

You often see videos on footballers and how they live and their lifestyle however you
don’t see how football fans pay to be able to watch the match. Football used to be a
working class families game however due to the popularity of the game is became a
multiple billion pound empire for businesses and business men. Due to football being
popular the clubs can charge how much they want because they know that they can
charge these prices and getaway with it.

5. Existing Product – Prince Ea
I want to re-create something similar to Prince Ea in the way he gets a powerful
message across in the time of around 3-10 minutes which is what I am trying to
achieve with my video. He makes videos on important things such as global
warming, peoples biggest life regrets and other powerful things.
I can use him as an influence because although I am doing a video on how social
media is a bad at the same time it’s a good place to promote products or brands or
even this video. It just needs to be showing the right things rather than the bad stuff.

6. Target Audience
• My target audience is going to be broad. My intention is to create a
video which attracts the attention of every age so that everyone
can become aware of the powers social media has on our lives
currently.
• For my audience I feel truth and real life examples such as the
graphic videos will show just the reality off it. My goal is to show
statistics such as how often people get bullied are, the amount of
suicides caused due to social media, etc. To be able to apply the
authentic feel to this I feel I will need to get a graphic video that I
want my audience to see. However I think this will have to make my
target audience 16/18 plus. I want to get hold of a funny uncover
video to show people its not all bad but also get a horrible one just
to show them that when a child clicks on this they don’t know what
their going to be seeing.

people from different generations asking them
how they feel about social media and if they
know what the reality of it is like.

8. Research summary
My research has allowed me to get ideas on how I
want to put my video together and how I it will
hopefully look like. It has also allowed me to know
what kind of information I need and how to word it
into such a short space of time. This is useful to my
production because it allows me to get a better
understanding of how long this project might take
me to do and it helps with my time management.

11. Idea 1 – Wealth Equality and divide in
the world
• My initial idea was to create a meaningful video regarding wealth and
social status. My reasons for doing this was because I feel like no one
should be made to feel uncomfortable because of how rich or poor they
are.
• When I’m out shopping I always see homeless people on the street and I
always try to help them because I feel people should always support one
another because it could easily be yourself or someone you know and you
would like people to help them out.
• Another point is bullying someone because of their background regarding
the clothes they might wear or where the house is located or where they
come from. People don’t get to choose where they come from and they
try to make the best out of what they have got.
• Everyone should be respected even if its just the basics such as manners. I
see videos online about people dressing up homeless and getting turned
away from restaurants and then go back 20 minutes later dressed nicely
and they get welcomed with both arms. A working class persons money is
just as good as a millionaire’s.

12. Idea 2 – Social Media
• My other initial idea was Social Media and how I feel it is being
portrayed more negative than positive and how powerful it really is
and why we should use it to be positive.
• One of the reasons I believe social media is the most powerful
weapon in the world is because everyone uses it of all ages and it
allows different generations to connect within one.
• My main reason for choosing this is because I’ve personally seen
videos that no one should ever see of any age (uncover videos).
This concerns me because I know children as young as 8 years old
will also have access to these videos. People wonder why kids as
young as 12/13 age getting involved in drugs and crimes, I believe
its because of social media which has an enormous influence on
young people.
• People’s idols and role models today would have been what not to
be in previous generations.

13. Idea 3 – illnesses and bullying
• So many people loose their lives due to mental illnesses, physical
illnesses, etc.
• Talk about facts regarding suicide in both men and women.
• I feel people are to embarrassed to talk about their private life and
personal issues when it comes to any form of illness because
people bully them for it which is out of order and shouldn’t be
happening. Because of this many people loose their lives because
there to frightened to let people know about their illnesses due to
them being embarrassed or scared because of being bullied for
something they can’t help.
• This links into social media because people create “memes” and
videos that go viral often regarding a disability or illness which is
bullying but I feel the word bullying has been replaced with
“BANTER” which is a way of covering the bullying up so people can
get away with it.
