Cities are fonts of ideas, opportunity, art and political movements. But urban enclaves can also generate inequality, epidemics and pollution. The rapid pace of urbanization in the coming decades brings these and other unprecedented opportunities and challenges to the fore. Will cities lose their vibrant potential if the challenges they face spiral out of control?
Globalization and Industrial Development in Nigeriaiosrjce
Globalization and industrial development are recent events which have received considerable attention
by scholars and bodies in the academic field, which is an inevitable feature of today‘s world. Globalization has
become important in the modern intellectual development in the contemporary world. This inevitably leads to
the definition of the concept. What precisely does the concept globalization mean? There are enormous
scholarly works on globalization. According to Schneider and Eriste, (2002) in the emergent socio-political and
economic transformation as well as the area of communication and transportation, the globalization trend now
seems to be irreversible. Globalization is a phenomenon which is multi-dimensional and multifaceted process
that encompasses economic, political, social, and technological development

Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund, has published its Trends List for 2014/15, detailing the issues likely to have profound effects on society and economies...
This working paper describes evaluation as a growth industry in rapid transformation. Given the twin challenges of increased inequality and results orientation a new generation of evaluators will have to learn to surf a social impact wave. Given the rise of emerging market countries they will be called upon to move the center of gravity of the discipline south and east. Given the complexity of development challenges they will have to replenish the evaluation tool kit. Given the advent of big data and the spread of social networking they will tap the vast opportunities of a ‘plugged in’ world. Finally given the advent of results oriented networks they will forge resilient connections between public, private and civil society actors in pursuit of collective impact.
An introduction to the MYP Personal Project. Includes a visual representation of the year and the Personal Project cycle. Also, advice on drafting highly challenging goals based on the MYP Personal Project Teacher Support Materials.

Public lecture delivered on 7 November to Garden Route stakeholders. The Garden Route is staring over a cliff and the choices we make now will determine our ability to respond to global uncertainties. Two factors: trends in the global economy, and government's commitment to implement the recommendations of the National Planning Commission, will make a huge difference to the Garden Route's future. Four scenarios: "Eish, missed the bus"; "Maverick's paradise"; "Local is Lekker" and "Carpe Diem" could emerge. Our ability to respond to these will depend on flexible yet proactive plannning, management of ecological infrastructure, closing the wealth gap and investing in education and technology.

Enterprise Excellence is Inclusive Excellence.pdfKaiNexus
Enterprise excellence and inclusive excellence are closely linked, and real-world challenges have shown that both are essential to the success of any organization. To achieve enterprise excellence, organizations must focus on improving their operations and processes while creating an inclusive environment that engages everyone. In this interactive session, the facilitator will highlight commonly established business practices and how they limit our ability to engage everyone every day. More importantly, though, participants will likely gain increased awareness of what we can do differently to maximize enterprise excellence through deliberate inclusion.
What is Enterprise Excellence?
Enterprise Excellence is a holistic approach that's aimed at achieving world-class performance across all aspects of the organization.
What might I learn?
A way to engage all in creating Inclusive Excellence. Lessons from the US military and their parallels to the story of Harry Potter. How belt systems and CI teams can destroy inclusive practices. How leadership language invites people to the party. There are three things leaders can do to engage everyone every day: maximizing psychological safety to create environments where folks learn, contribute, and challenge the status quo.
Who might benefit? Anyone and everyone leading folks from the shop floor to top floor.

"the possibility that human and other life will flourish on the
planet forever.
It’s a definition about as far from the central notion of sustainable
development as night is from day. But, to me, it represents a
truer idea about what sustainability is all about.
Flourishing, like many other desirable qualities, is an emergent
property. It has no thing-like character. It’s like health, or liberty,
or freedom: It appears only when the whole system is
functioning properly." John R. Ehrenfeld, Executive Director, International
