Rhetorical Analysis Response
After the calibration process, along with juxtaposing the current timed write to my prior rhetorical
analysis response, I now further comprehend my strengths and weaknesses as a writer. My
introduction paragraph has grown immensely in terms of my ability to fully express the topic which I
will address in response to the prompt. In my timed write, I open with a strong thesis statement in
which I expeditiously identify the main theme of the following speech as the severe lack of labor laws.
Although this is the paramount topic, I failed to address the underlying theme of women s rights used
by Florence Kelley to justify her view on labor laws while serving to strategically juxtapose the
violation of women s rights and the infringement faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Why: In the first rhetorical analysis timed write, I struggled to identify which rhetorical strategies
were used along with their connection to the theme of each article. In the sentence above, my writing
successfully identifies both the purpose and theme in a concise manner.
Revision: She implements anaphora along with asyndeton in the phrase men increase, women
increase, youth increase.. they are in commerce, in office, in manufacturing. Through her use of
literary devices, Kelley is able to identify the overarching issue of women s suffrage while
enlightening her audience as she expresses that once women are seen as strong, competent individuals,
then, and only then, will there be a respect for the American youth.
Reflection: In the following sentence, I am able to expand upon a major topic of discussion for
Women s Rights Activist Florence Kelley. It is difficult at first to identify the purpose behind the
rhetorical strategies used by the speaker, but upon further examination it is apparent how Kelley s
diction comprehensively contributes to the integrity of her argument as a

Essay On Native American Tribal Music
Music is one of the most influential parts of cultures all over the world, but to the Native Americans it
is pivotal. Native American tribal music is a very important part of most Native Americans history,
culture, and societies.
Music is an extremely important role of Native American culture and history. Generally, it was one of
the only methods that they had as a way to pass down traditions and their history from generation to
generation. There wasn t very much documentation of their history until validation from English
settlers, other than some archeological evidence of musical instruments and depictions of music that
have been dated as far back as the 7th Century. There were typically two types of songs that the tribes
would pass down, and they would be either public songs or private songs. Public songs were often
historical, and could be retold into many different versions which often gave the songs different
meanings. But the private songs were unchanged through the history and kept those tribes
history/culture intact forever. There were primarily six different areas of music in the United States
where different tribes resided. The main characteristics of all of these diverse areas were that they
were based on singing and percussion. The vocalization of these tribes range from solos, chorales,
unison, and multipart singing. Percussion was also very common, and the use of drums and rattles
were used to keep a steady beat for singers. Flutes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In their societies, music is used for worship, work, entertainment, expressing grief, or gaining
strength. Many of their ceremonies and stories verbally allowed for ancient customs to be passed

their culture and their beliefs through singing, dancing, and

Dumb Ways To Die Essay
Critique on Dumb Ways To Die Target Audience: The target audience for the PSA, Dumb Ways To
Die are kids and young adults. This is because they are trying to get a message across to be safe
around trains to people who don t have common sense like kids and young adults. They are delivering
the message in a humorous way. This suggests that they do not want their target audience to get
scared; kids are more likely to get scared than older adults. If shock techniques are used where they
show realistic graphical content where people die, children would be scared around trains and not
want to go near them. So instead by adding cartoon graphical content or animated cartoons, which are
for kids mostly, then the death scenes do not look as scary as ones aimed at adults. ... Show more

Each character is like an egg that is brightly coloured and they all dance and sway to the jingle but in a
gruesome touch, they all bear the injuries of their deaths, like the grizzly bear bites the head off of

presentable. Change of Attitude / Behaviour: Dumb Ways to Die is a PSA from Metro Trains in
Melbourne in Victoria, that aims at rain safety, particularly on the points of platform common sense
and railway crossing safety. It is encouraging the safety points of behaviour because they are two of
the main causes of rail related deaths. The PSA encourages public awareness on the dangers of going
too close to the edge of railway platforms in railway stations and of ignoring lights and boom gates at
railway crossings. Effectiveness: The PSA received 148,085,563 views in five years, suggesting it was
highly popular and had video appeal. There was however a criticism that the PSA encourages railway
sucides . However, there was a claim that the PSA led to a 20% reduction in risky behaviour; there
was a counter claim that this was social media

Analyzing Wes Anderson s Stop Motion
To begin with, Wes Anderson s stop motion feature has a unique story compared to his other films
being based off books. I always admired Wes Anderson s collection of work throughout his years as a
director. Just like his other films, his style with films is going to be jammed pack with beautiful color
palettes, symmetrical framing, unique camera cuts, and lovable recurring character traits. My only
worries before watching this film that this was going to flop due to having high hopes with classics
like Fantastic Mr. Fox under his belt. The main high points I m going to review over is the story,
production design, and cinematography.
The Isle of Dogs was directed by Wes Anderson and features the voice talents of Edward Norton, Bill
Murray, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A pack of mangy mutts joins him on an adventure to locate his missing dog. Wes Anderson is no
stranger to stop motion having directed Fantastic Mr. Fox which was charming and gorgeously
rendered. But with the Isle of Dogs virtually everything about the technique has been improved while
3d animation has reached stunning new heights hand drawn and stop motion will always hold a
special place in my heart there s a rough around the edges feel to almost every shot it s obvious that a
painstaking amount of hard work has gone into each and every single frame. Alexandre des plots score
propels the film along with a steady pace creating a surprising amount of suspense as well. Some
scenes were actually riveting and a lot of that can be attributed to his wonderful music in typical Wes
Anderson style the actors are almost self aware in their delivery. The line readings feel idiosyncratic of
the stars themselves. Almost as if Anderson is knowingly allowing the actors public persona to seep
through. For instance, every line from Bill Murray or Jeff Goldblum feels almost tailor made for them
for their style. This can sometimes be a distraction but a minor one in Bryan Cranston s performance

The Attraction to Paris
Millions and millions of people from all around the world come to visit France every year. The most
popular city to visit in France is Paris. So many people visit Paris, but each of them have different
reasons for visiting. Some people come to see the major landmarks and attractions. Others come to see
the numerous art galleries. The food in Paris draws in tourists all by itself. There are many reasons to
visit Paris. Probably the most popular reason to visit Paris is to see all of the most famed monuments.
The Eiffel Tower is the unmistakable icon of Paris. Gustave Eiffel designed the tower for the World
Expo of 1889. Back then, Eiffel was an engineer who designed iron bridges for trains. He employed
the same kind of structural elements when designing the Eiffel Tower, most notably the iron crossbars
and massive archways. Another monumental landmark is the Arc de Triomphe. Napoleon
commissioned the Arc de Triomphe in 1806, as a monument to the success of his imperial armies, and
it wasn t finished until 1836. The design for the arch was based on the Arch of Titus in Rome, which is
50 feet tall, but the architect scaled the Arc de Triomphe to three times that size at 156 feet tall.
Tourists can climb stairs to the roof, or ride in an elevator. The Notre Dame is a popular place to visit
as well. It is the finest example of Gothic architecture in Paris. The original towers are 223 feet tall,
but the spire which was added during the 19th century is 300 feet

Explain The Three Branches Of Government
The Three Branches of Government There are three branches of government; Legislative Branch,
Executive Branch, and lastly Judicial Branch. In this outline I am going to talk about the structures,
elections and functions and responsibilities of each branch. Each branch is important and does
different things to help make the government run smoothly. Legislative Branch (Congress) Legislative
means to have the power to make laws. That s this branches job, to make laws for the United States.
This legislative branch contains congress; under congress are the House of Representatives and the
senate. The Congress s job is to make legislation happen, declare wars, confirm or reject presidential
appointments, and substantial investigative powers. There are four hundred and thirty five people that

Essay on Religious Justifications of Slavery in the Caribbean
Religious Justifications of Slavery in the Caribbean The doctrine of Christianity grants eternal life to
all persons who accept that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and choose to follow him. Such a statement
leaves little room for interpretation of the scripture itself. Nevertheless, the nineteenth century
Christian churches of the Caribbean Islands created a racial distinction between humans which
determined who could and who could not be granted eternal life through the Christian faith. This
concept of race was based on the belief that Africans were intellectually unable to make an educated
decision regarding personal religion. Planters supported this discrimination against their workers

(Later they were informed by the missionaries). The slave owners did not encourage the institution of
marriage. It was felt that the strength and power of the marriage union would offer a threat to the
Plantation System. Concubinage was encouraged as it was believed that this frail type of union would
keep the negroes humble and complacent. Despite the rapid social changes taking place, common law
marriages and concubinage are still present in Caribbean and will perhaps be for a long time. During
the latter part of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth century (1890 1910) there was a
large movement of people from Jamaica to Cuba, Panama, Costa Rica and the United States of
America in search of jobs. Fathers travelled away from their families leaving mothers to be solely
responsible for the upbringing of their children. During the 1950s there was an exodus of Jamaicans to
England. These included both fathers and mothers, and so, many children were left to be cared for by
their grandmothers and other relatives. Although families differ in form according to the society, they
nevertheless are responsible for carrying out certain functions. The chief of these are: 1. Procreation or
reproduction for continuation of the species. 2. Socialisation which includes education, religion,

African Leaders Established The Organisation Of African...
Introduction
In the 21st Century, the African continent leaders wanted to establish a more united continent. It is for
this reason that the African leaders established the Organisation of African Unity in 1963, with the
purpose of eradicating colonialism in Africa, and harmonize and deepen collaboration efforts of
member states to achieve a better life for its people. A number of problems emerged such as the 1975
Angolan civil war and the Somalia invasion of Ethiopia 1978, besides most African economies were
on the decline, these issues among others weakened the competence of the OAU. Beginning of 1999
certain leaders began to question why the OAU failed to prevail and resolve the social ills that
afflicted Africa (Bujra 2002) Therefore, the OAU was scrapped and the African Union was established
on 9th July 2002 with the key objective of upholding peace, security and stability on the African
continent. Ever since, the AU has launched military operations to help control clashes in Burundi,
Sudan, Somalia and the Comoros. This paper will discuss the Darfur Crisis which militarily escalated
in 2003. The deployment of AMIS took place in a complex context representing the first real test of
the AU s peacekeeping capacity ,( Ouguergouz Yusufu 2012, p. 365). Ouguergouz and Yusufu assert
that although the conflict has generally being portrayed as a religious conflict between the Muslim
North and the Christian/Animist South, the conflict is driven mainly by political and

Oh Ms Believer Analysis
Some people listen to songs because they like the how the song sounds to them, and completely ignore

Oh Ms Believer by Twenty One Pilots, someone is trying to help his or her loved one through the
complications of depression. There are many different hidden meanings in the lyrics of the song Oh
Ms Believer , such as in the lyrics Oh, Miss Believer, my pretty sleeper/Your twisted mind is like
snow on the road (1 2). The song opens with a simile that means her thoughts cover up who she truly
is, or that her thoughts could be dangerous, perhaps life threatening, because when snow covers a road
it becomes hidden, slippery, and dangerous to drive on. Another part of the song s lyrics Your shaking
shoulders prove that it s colder/Inside your head than the winter of dead (3 4), show that the subject in
the song is probably crying because her shoulders are shaking, and also that her thoughts are
depressing and likely dangerous. The entire song relies heavily on the idea of cold, such as winter and

Dog Collar
Keeping your dog safe is a concern for every pet owner. There are many ways to protect your pet
including fencing in your yard, gating off areas where they could get hurt, and giving them the proper
care and nutrition. One of the simplest ways to keep them safe is a collar and pet tags. Collars help
with pet identification, exercise, and can be used for training purposes. Many types of collars are
available and it may be hard to choose the right one for your dog.
The three main purposes of a collar are for control, identification, and fashion. Most have a place for
the identification and vaccination tags to be attached as well as a place for a leash. A basic nylon collar
can be used for a house dog that just needs identification tags to help find their home if they get loose.
Larger breeds may need a stronger collar. Dogs that spend a lot of their time outdoors may need

They are available in many sizes and colors. Clasps vary as well. Included in these are quick release
collars that clasp with a plastic clip and breakaway collars that have a safety clip which allows them to

on a leash and gets over excited. A halter goes around the dog s mouth but they are still able to use
their mouth. Harnesses wrap around the body and are very good for smaller dogs. When the dog
lunges, they will not choke themselves or get free.
Choke collars are used for dog training. They can be made of medal, leather, or nylon. They have rings
at either end that allow it to cinch up when the leash is pulled and then released after the dog has been
corrected. Pinch collars have prongs on the inside of the collar and pressure is placed on the dog s
neck when pulled. They are used in training when other types of training collars are not responded to
and can often be used to train a dog not to pull on their

Medication Error And Its Adverse Effects On The Elderly
Medication Error and its adverse effects to the elderly Firehiwot Bealy University of Regina
Medication Error and Its Adverse Effects Older adults are at high risk for adverse effects of
medication error more than their counteract younger adults. This is because they depend on more than
one medication in order to treat or prevent disease, syndromes and sickness (Lindenberg, 2010). It is
inevitable that the elderly face adverse effects of drugs while on medication especially when they still
live independently. However, chances of errors in hospitals and care homes are more frequent when
the medication process connects several departments (Belen et. al., 2009). Therefore, tactical measures
are required in the provision of drug therapy in order to optimize safe medication in older adults. This
paper discusses the issue by analyzing the existing structure of administering medication, reviewing
the occurrence of medication errors; evaluating systems developed to advance safe medication
administration. Finally, addressing the implication for professional nursing practice. Administering

Ethos In TED Talk
Mallory Soldner, in her TED Talk Your company s data could end world hunger given at a TED
Institute event in 2016, successfully argues that if companies donate data, decision scientists, and
technology to gather new sources of data to humanitarian organizations, that lives can be saved.
Soldner is able to support her claims by sharing her experiences using data to drive efficiencies, save
money, and feed more people while working for the World Food Program. In Soldner s TED Talk, she
uses ethos to build credibility and rapport with the audience. Solder also uses logos by detailing her
experience at the World Food Program and demonstrating the value of the data, and explaining why it
makes business sense. Soldner s target audience is executives of large companies.
Soldner began her TED Talk by using ethos as a form of persuasion with the audience. She does this
by describing walking into the World Food Program building in Rome, Italy as a confident Ph.D.
student, armed with a prototype tool developed at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In her
description of this event, she is able to connect with the audience and build rapport by using a style of
speech and tone that includes a mix of humor, humility, and a clear understanding of logistics
optimization. Soldner s story allowed her to use ethos with the audience in a subtle but entertaining
way. Soldner used her story to highlight her experience and understanding of the needs of

The Theory Of The Mathematics Teacher
While the rule taught youth is at sea when beyond his rules, the youth instructed in principles solves a
new case as readily as an old one . (Spencer, 1878, p.57)
What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on
what sort of person you are . (Lewis, 1994, p.108)
The mathematics teacher builds examples into their arsenal of resources to help demonstrate the
mathematical principles they are trying to teach (Dreyfus, 1994). However, not all examples are
equally constructed and provide the same learning experience to the learner. Spencer (1978) believes
that learners who know principles are more prepared than rule focussed learners to tackle problems.
This is the same within mathematics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

recorded on the process of constructing examples and how they are employed in the classroom.
Percentage examples will be constructed and these will be used in the teaching of percentages to a
Year 7 class. Further observations will be made on how the learners approach and conduct the
examples. Analysis of the response to these examples will be made where recommendations will be
offered to improve my application as a mathematics teacher. It is intended that this investigation and

BACKGROUND
The study was conducted in a Leicestershire high school that accepts learners from year 7 to 9. Year 7s

where they sit GCSEs. Although it does not take the learners through formal exams, the school s
primary focus is on the preparation to attain qualifications. This means its Scheme of Work (SOW) is

to girl ratio of 2:1. There are several behavioural issues regards some learners disrupting the class and,

United Airlines Stakeholders Essay
Another stakeholder involved was the customers using United Airlines because they deserved to know
what was occurring between the ex CEO and Samson. Also, the workers were a stakeholder as well in
this situation. There are plenty of cities around the United States that do not offer airfare. As a result,
when customers hear that there was a customized flight for Samson this can make them distraught and
angry at United. Also, they can possibly lose business as well because customers feel they are not the
main priority in United s business plan. According to Bergen Record, the flight from Newark to

For instance, United created a new flight for Samson. However, no one ever knew that was the exact
reason why until all the allegations came out. The ex CEO effortlessly could have said he wanted to
experiment with a new flight with no justification besides saying that he was testing the flight out for
business reasons. Thus, that is how airlines test if certain cities will create enough revenue to keep that
flight going. In United Airlines case they exercised their ability to create new flights in their own
favor. Companies that can exercise that same ability can be creating deals with businessmen in
exchange for an accessible flight that is convenient for them. Today, traveling is essesstial to get from
one meeting to the next. Therefore, businessmen are always looking for an edge to get to meetings
quicker than usual. Overall, it is alarming because it is illegal and could be dangerous for business.
For instance, if someone in power asks an airline to cut business with a certain town in return for
something the airline could find useful than it will be unethical for this to be done. Obviously, most
airlines do not go to this extreme to bend the law. However, there are always outliers in a group who
will try to create a competitive advantage anyway possible. Therefore, businessmen need to act ethical
so they do not get caught in a situation like one the

Why the minimum wage should not be increased 211
The minimum wage is a topic which has been heavily discussed amongst the people of the United
Kingdom. Some think it should be lowered, some think it is at the right amount and others think it

could anyone live on such a little amount. I thought how could anyone afford to pay all of their bills
and everything else on top of that like food and clothes. But then I looked into it more and I realised
that the minimum wage is at that amount for a reason, these reasons are ones which I agree with.
The minimum wage is the same no matter where you live. For example, if you re on the minimum

Analysis Of Purple Hibiscus
Does Kambili s change in environment reflect on her character, from the beginning to the end of the
book? In Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie she uses Kambili, the narrator to tell her life
story. In Purple Hibiscus the narrator, Kambili starts by being shy and detached because she went from
Papa s house which was an unhealthy abusive home to Aunt Ifeoma s home, which was a freely and
happy home; by the end, Kambili was open to people and was a compassionate person.
In Purple Hibiscus the narrator, Kambili starts by being shy and detached . Purple Hibiscus is as book
that details life through Kambili s eyes. Throughout the story, Adichie shows how Kambili was shy
around most people and was also detached from other people. I wanted to talk with them, to laugh
with them so much that I would start to jump up and down in one place the way they did but my lips
held stubbornly together. I did not want to stutter, so I started to cough and then ran out and into the
toilet (Adichie. 141) Adichie shows how Kambili isn t too comfortable around other people. Kambili
struggles with fearing she ll say the wrong thing and embarrass herself. See how well your Papa
Nnukwu is doing...He has been sitting up so long for Amaka to paint him. It s a miracle. Our Lady is
faithful ( Adichie.166) Adichie uses this conversation to show that Kambili is detached from Papa
Nnukwu. Kambili has heard all the time from Papa that Papa Nnukwu is a heathen, just because he s a
traditionalist. Kambili s heard it so much that she believes it, so that affected her relationship with
him.
Papa s home was an unhealthy abusive home, in contrast from Aunty Ifeoma s freely, happy home.
Purple Hibiscus is a book that details life through Kambili s eyes. Throughout the book, Adichie
shows that Papa s home was very unhealthy for Kambili and that Aunty s home was freely and happy
for Kambili. Of course, you can stay up as long as you want afterward to watch TV or whatever else

The Florida Everglades is the state s most highly visited park in the state. The Everglades is also home
to thousands of animals, reptiles, and plants. Many tourist travels just to get a glimpse of the many
exotic reptiles. Although, the Everglades is very beautiful it s also one of the most endangered parks in
the state. The park is endangered from humans and land developments. The state has laws imposed to

Many birds would flock to the Everglades during the winter to escape harsh winters from up north.
The Everglades skies aren t filled with as many birds anymore due to numerous reasons. One of the
saddest reasons that many animals and reptiles are losing their homes is because of humans and land
development. The beautiful of the Everglades is simply breathing all the creatures and different plant
life is a joyous site to witness. The beauty of the Everglades that past generations has witness isn t the
same that the current generations witness. As the years progress we continue to do more harm to our
beloved Everglades. We continue to push our animals to relocate and find new homes because we take
away their land for our own personal developments. The population continues to increase and that
calls for newer and better developments, more and more of the Everglades is being taking away from
plants and animals. This land that is being taken away from the plant and animal species is being
turned into communities, shopping plazas, and other new buildings. The Everglades once rumored to
be 22,000 square feet has over time become no more than 11,000 square feet. This major drop over
years and years is a result of land development. The continuation of taking land away from our animal
and plant life in the Everglades can result in horrible consequences. Animals will eventually be forced
to find homes somewhere else and we will lose valued plant

Using Geometry And Algebra, By Brianna Baker
Geometry and Algebra / By: Brianna Baker Five ways to use geometry in life is by: making my bed,
telling time on a clock, wrestling, driving, and doing geometry in math class. When making a bed you
use angles by horizontally pulling the covers up on to the rectangular mattress where they belong.
Telling time uses angles by the short hand moving every hour and the long hand moving every minute.
The hands are always either in an obtuse or acute angle. Wresting uses angles and if I wanted to grab
someone I would be predicting volume. Driving is obviously geometry making U turns and turning is
geometry. Doing geometry in math class today is me moving my fingers up and down to type an

Angles and measurements are important for the structure of the house. Being a house keeper or
cleaner would go along with how beds should be made to look like perfection. Now teaching school
takes degrees and work.Teaching sports is much easier than being a book teacher. Wrestling, football
and basketball all use volume and angles. Wrestling teaches specific movement and lengths of reach.
The game of football takes prediction of volume and of course you should now at least what angle or
way to throw. Basketball is both, from hitting the back board to how high to jump. Five ways to use
algebra in daily life is by: going to an algebra math class, predicting how much money you ll get,
counting, saving and spending money. When you take a class for algebra you ll count the days left to
go. For example, 10=100/x. If I worked for 20 days and got paid 9 dollars every hour than I could find
out how much money I would get. Working at a bank more en likely wouldn t be fun. keeping record

Themes Of The Four Quartets
Manganiello focuses on the interplay between Dante and Eliot manifested in their use of the
Incarnation. Drawing on the intent search of the confused speaker of The Waste Land, Manganiello
proposes that the Four Quartets answers the search for the essential word with Logos. The epigraphs
for Burnt Norton, the opening quartet, center around Logos and the intersections of time. Manganiello
fleshes out Eliot s exploration of time and eternity through the lens of the Incarnation. The Incarnation
is, of course, the meeting of divinity and humanity, of time and timelessness, of Logos and flesh.
Drawing on Dante s comparison of God to both a circle and a point the eternal and the temporal
Manganiello begins utilizing images from the Divine Comedy, specifically the Paradiso, to provide a
deeper understanding of Eliot s themes in the Four Quartets. Focusing specifically on Burnt Norton,
Manganiello narrows in on the rose garden, examining the primal memories of both an earthly and
supra terrestrial paradise of bliss it triggers. He eventually concludes that, Eliot, like Dante, invites the
reader to cross over from the human to the divine, from time to eternity (111). Switching his focus to
the intersection of time and eternity in the Incarnation, Manganiello discusses an article Eliot
translated for the Criterion entitled On Reading Einstein . The article, written by Charles Mauron,
argues that Einstein s theory of relativity does not

Essay on Arctic and Alpine Soils
Arctic and Alpine Soils
Proposal
(Ant)arctic (high latitude) and alpine (mountain) areas are affected by relatively similar climates, as
latitude and altitude produce similar meteorologic effects. In these geographic regions where
temperature is at such a pronounced extreme, climate would seem to be the leading factor of soil
development. It is my goal in this research paper to answer the following question: How do the soils
of arctic and alpine areas differ? This idea, taken largely from an abstract by Birkeland (1975), will be
explored through the comparison of the soils of these two geographic regions, and an analysis of the
soil development factors in those environments.

However inaccurate as Dokuchaev s generalization may be, a critique of his proposal provides an
excellent tool to examine and compare the soils of similar Arctic and Alpine regions.
Similarity in Arctic and Alpine Geographic Regions
There are pedologic cases in which one of the five soil forming factors established by Jenny (192?) is
so prominent and effectual that it outweighs the sum of all of the other factors, resulting in the
definition of different soil series almost wholly upon differences in that dominant soil forming factor.
For example, in the Carleton Arboretum, our Soils class found that the differences in soil series were
defined mostly on the basis of parent material. Most groups had a direct correlation between the
distribution of soil types and the distribution of parent materials.
In the case of Arctic and Alpine* soils, it is climate which largely outweighs all of the other soil
forming factors. As previously stated, the intense cold associated with high latitudes and high altitudes
separates Arctic and Alpine areas from other geographic regions of Earth. I believe that upon this basis
Dokuchaev made his analog between horizontal and vertical zonality of soils. Through an examination
of a number of Arctic and Alpine soils and the pedogeneses of such soils, I aim to expand and adjust
his hypothesis, as I feel he did not understand fully the complexity of Alpine

Father Of Confederation Research Paper
Who is a father, and more importantly, who is a Father of Confederation? A
Father, in a literal definition, is a man who gives care and protection to someone or something. George
Washington was such a man, responsible for his patriots in the fight against the British during the
American Revolution. Confederation, on the other hand, is when a group of people come together in a
coalition, or fight, while working together for a common cause. The lower class in France came
together in the French Revolution to fight against Louis XVI, and his intolerance towards them.
Therefore, Father of
Confederation must mean a man who brings people together to fight for a common cause. There exists
much controversy on whether the Metis, Louis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the main parts that allows a country to function as a united whole is transportation, especially a
railway. John A. Macdonald wanted to construct a railway from coast to coast, as part of his National

across his great nation. Once again in 1885, friction broke out between the Metis and the Canadian

the canadian citizens would see the necessity of the railway as a need for the national security of the

he realized it or not, sped up the completion of the railway, to the point that with the help of other
people, it was finished in November of 1885;

much revered style icon known for her simple yet sophisticated outfits paired with great accessories,
such as several strands of pearls. As Chanel once said, luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not

Her early years, however, were anything but glamorous. After her mother s death, Chanel was put in

At the age of 70, Chanel made a triumphant return to the fashion world. She first received scathing

In 1969, Chanel s fascinating life story became the basis for the Broadway musical Coco starring

My Experience At Erin s Place
My breathing is steady and shallow, the exhales causing slight disturbances in the fog around me, my
shoes making a constant smack, smack on the pavement. The mist acts like a thin blanket, dampening
my senses, making the world just a little quieter, a little calmer. All around me are the sounds and
smells of pure, serene nighttime. To my left is the pond; ducks are huddled along the shoreline,
sometimes ruffling their feathers or making a sleepy murmur. I just passed the campus daycare, the
windows are all dark and the playground is empty; the swing creaks back and forth slightly... There
must be a breeze.
I m on my way back from a long night of studying. It s around 2AM, the cafeteria in the university
hall is open all the time so students can study late for upcoming finals. I m not much of a cram studier

the first person who comes to their house on the first day of Tet is very important because his or her
destiny can determine the fortune of the family for the whole year. Therefore, people never come to
any house on the first day unless they are invited. Householders usually invite people who have good
virtue and success, such as their children or grandchildren who are intelligent or successful, to come to

Winslow Homer Accomplishments
Prior to my research on Winslow Homer, I had no knowledge of who he was as an artist. After reading
about Homer and his life, I learned that he was one of the greatest American painters of the 19th
century and had a big impact on the art world. I chose to do my paper on Winslow Homer because I
saw a few of his paintings of boats floating in the ocean and was blown away by the strokes he
produced. I expected him to be a rural European artist that mainly did landscapes, and while there is
some truth behind my assumption, I learned a lot about him that I didn t expect. Winslow Homer was
born February 24, 1836 in Boston, Massachusetts. His mother was an artist who mainly worked with
watercolors, which was why Homer began his career as an artist. At the age of 19, he began an
apprenticeship as a lithographer. In 1859, he began to study at the National Academy of Design in
New York City. For the most part, his education was very informal. He was mainly self taught,

Winslow Homer is that no matter what your dream is, with hard work and non stop dedication, you
can make it come true. Another thing that made me feel connected to him was his love for the rural
lifestyle. He tried to live in the big cities and be like the other artists, but it just wasn t for him. I think
that is why I feel so connected to his work, because I can relate the scenes to my personal life. In my
opinion, Homer is one of the most talented painters in history, and he deserves to be recognized for his

Comparison Of Paranoia In Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy And 1984
Alfredson s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Orwell s 1984 both illustrate atmospheres of paranoia

Alfredson s and Orwell s texts Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and 1984 both portray atmospheres of

Persistence Of Memory Edge Of The Trees Analysis
Persistence of Memory [See Appendix 4] and Edge of the Trees [See Appendix 1] are two examples of
artworks that both aim to communicate a social comment that is relevant to the artist s background and
beliefs. Persistence of Memory was painted by Salvador Dali who was a Spanish artist, celebrated for
his surrealistic dreamscapes. Since his birth in 1904, Dali was an eccentric individual with limitless
creativity. His fiercely technical yet highly unusual paintings, sculptures, films and life size interactive
art pieces were achieved by pouring his boldness and creativity in to each one. Edge of the Trees was
collaboratively created by Janet Laurence and Fiona Foley; two Australian artists of completely
different backgrounds. Janet Laurence (1947) is a Sydney based artist and architect of more than 25
years. Fiona Foley (1964) is another contemporary Australian painter, printmaker, photographer,
sculptor, installation artist, writer and community activist, whose work is greatly influenced by her

Relational Database Management System ( Rdbms )
Abstract:
In Nowadays, there are two major of database management systems which are use to deal with data,
the first one called Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) which is the traditional
relational databases, it deals with structured data and have been popular since decades since 1970,
while the second one called Not only Structure Query Language databases (NoSQL), they are dealing
with semi structured and unstructured data; the NoSQL types are gaining their popularity with the
development of the internet and the social media since April 2009. NoSQL are intending to override
the cons of RDBMs, such as fixed schemas, JOIN operations and handling the scalability problems. In
this paper we will review one of the graph database (Neo4j), which the graph database is part of the
emerging technology that is called NoSQL and compared it with one of the traditional relational
database (MySQL). MySQL, it is being another name for Relational Databases and it has been used
for a long period time until now. However, with the emergence of Big Data there was clearly a need
for more flexible databases. Facebook s Graph Search using Neo4j, a graph database, is an application
which clearly displays how relationships need to be modeled in a more efficient and sophisticated
manner than using conventional relational models. In this paper, we will make a compare between
MySQL and Neo4j based on the features like ACID, replication, availability and the language that is

In 1 Corinthians 11, God gives the command that a woman is to cover her head when praying or

Greco Roman world to cover their hair when they went outside the home. In biblical times, women
covered their heads with veils or scarves. The unveiling of a woman s hair was considered a
humiliation and punishment (Isa. 3:17; cf. Num. 5:18 on the loosening of the hair of a woman

903) on the Soviet population. In 1931, with the first 5 year plan well underway, Stalin made a pivotal
speech to the First Conference of Soviet Industrial Managers titled No Slowdown in Tempo! ,

By taking an Us versus the World approach, Stalin s reasoning of rapid growth becomes clear and a
vital component of his speech. We are fifty or a hundred years behind the advanced countries. We
must make good this distance in ten years. Either we do it, or we shall go under (McKay 904). From
Stalin s speech, he constantly pushes nationalism and it is clear he views Russian Independence as the
most vital goal of his time in power. He reiterates numerous times that the workers tempo must not

Giberson s Glass Studio was founded to produce exquisite hand made glass by Edward Giberson in
2002 and
The main problems facing the company are the production schedule and usage of the principle skill
set, namely Mr. Giberson. While the business currently operates at a profit, it is not able to provide the
$25,000 minimum in wages that is needed.

The other important change to bring the company into profitability is to change the product ratios and
focus on the more financially rewarding items.
By observing your work over the last 6 weeks, I can show that the majority of Hot Time is spent on
Wrapped Tumblers and Patterned Glass. These products actual have the lowest sale price and therefore
the lowest return on both time and materials.

Student Code Violation
I would like to start this appeal by stating that I do not deny that my guest damaged University
property. However, it is the amount of damage and the severity of monetary compensation demanded
of me that I take issue with. The fact of the matter is that I am being assessed a fine of several
thousand dollars based on video evidence that my guest damaged two ceiling tiles. Although I find any
damage to what I consider my home to be a personal affront and a despicable act, I strongly feel that
in this situation the punishment is exceedingly disproportionate to the crime. I have developed a
strong allegiance to Quinnipiac University and I can honestly say that I was appalled by the vandalism
which occurred on that night.
I spoke with Agent Blakeman ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is absolutely no evidence that Ryan caused the extensive damage seen in the 180s and 280s.
Even Mr. Blakeman, who conducted the investigation, did not appear to be under the impression that
Ryan caused these extensive damages. The only evidence of vandalism shows Ryan and two other
individuals walking down a hallway on the other side of Commons and striking two tiles. The damage
that they caused is, unfortunately, a normal amount of damage for Commons on a weekend night.
Students frequently vandalize this dorm, and that is disgraceful, however one small, isolated incident
is not indicative of responsibility for a second incident with much greater damages. The damages have
not stopped since Ryan and the other individual shown in the video have left campus. I believe that it
is clear that a portion of residents in Commons simply continue damaging Commons.
As a result of this case, I have been placed on deferred suspension for nearly an entire year. However,
the charge is based off of pure speculation and assumptions. A professional investigation should not be
based off of simple assumptions, especially considering the gravity of the sanctions in this

This section will be used to describe the organization and talk about information systems and the roles
needed to support them.
KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
Knowledge management systems provide a means to assemble and act on the knowledge accumulated
throughout an organization. Such knowledge may include the texts and images contained in patents,
design methods, best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These systems are typically used by first level supervisors. Generally, such reports focus on past and
present activities, rather than projecting future performance. To prevent information overload, reports
may be automatically sent only under exceptional circumstances or at the specific request of a
manager.
EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEMS
Executive information systems make a variety of critical information readily available in a highly
summarized and convenient form, typically via a graphical digital dashboard. Senior managers
characteristically employ many informal sources of information, however, so that formal,
computerized information systems are only of partial assistance. Nevertheless, this assistance is
important for the chief executive officer, senior and executive vice presidents, and the board of
directors to monitor the performance of the company, assess the business environment, and develop
strategic directions for the future. In particular, these executives need to compare their organization s
performance with that of its competitors and investigate general economic trends in regions or
countries. Often individualized and relying on multiple media formats, executive information systems
give their users an opportunity to drill down from summary information to increasingly focused
details.
Describe an organization of your choice. You will use this organization as you focus on the concept of
information systems.

  • 2. Rhetorical Analysis Response After the calibration process, along with juxtaposing the current timed write to my prior rhetorical analysis response, I now further comprehend my strengths and weaknesses as a writer. My introduction paragraph has grown immensely in terms of my ability to fully express the topic which I will address in response to the prompt. In my timed write, I open with a strong thesis statement in which I expeditiously identify the main theme of the following speech as the severe lack of labor laws. Although this is the paramount topic, I failed to address the underlying theme of women s rights used by Florence Kelley to justify her view on labor laws while serving to strategically juxtapose the violation of women s rights and the infringement faced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Why: In the first rhetorical analysis timed write, I struggled to identify which rhetorical strategies were used along with their connection to the theme of each article. In the sentence above, my writing successfully identifies both the purpose and theme in a concise manner. Revision: She implements anaphora along with asyndeton in the phrase men increase, women increase, youth increase.. they are in commerce, in office, in manufacturing. Through her use of literary devices, Kelley is able to identify the overarching issue of women s suffrage while enlightening her audience as she expresses that once women are seen as strong, competent individuals, then, and only then, will there be a respect for the American youth. • 3. Essay On Native American Tribal Music Music is one of the most influential parts of cultures all over the world, but to the Native Americans it is pivotal. Native American tribal music is a very important part of most Native Americans history, culture, and societies. Music is an extremely important role of Native American culture and history. Generally, it was one of the only methods that they had as a way to pass down traditions and their history from generation to generation. There wasn t very much documentation of their history until validation from English settlers, other than some archeological evidence of musical instruments and depictions of music that have been dated as far back as the 7th Century. There were typically two types of songs that the tribes would pass down, and they would be either public songs or private songs. Public songs were often historical, and could be retold into many different versions which often gave the songs different meanings. But the private songs were unchanged through the history and kept those tribes history/culture intact forever. There were primarily six different areas of music in the United States where different tribes resided. The main characteristics of all of these diverse areas were that they were based on singing and percussion. The vocalization of these tribes range from solos, chorales, unison, and multipart singing. Percussion was also very common, and the use of drums and rattles were used to keep a steady beat for singers. Flutes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is because they are trying to get a message across to be safe around trains to people who don t have common sense like kids and young adults. They are delivering the message in a humorous way. This suggests that they do not want their target audience to get scared; kids are more likely to get scared than older adults. If shock techniques are used where they show realistic graphical content where people die, children would be scared around trains and not want to go near them. So instead by adding cartoon graphical content or animated cartoons, which are for kids mostly, then the death scenes do not look as scary as ones aimed at adults. ... I always admired Wes Anderson s collection of work throughout his years as a director. Just like his other films, his style with films is going to be jammed pack with beautiful color palettes, symmetrical framing, unique camera cuts, and lovable recurring character traits. My only worries before watching this film that this was going to flop due to having high hopes with classics like Fantastic Mr. Fox under his belt. Alexandre des plots score propels the film along with a steady pace creating a surprising amount of suspense as well. Some scenes were actually riveting and a lot of that can be attributed to his wonderful music in typical Wes Anderson style the actors are almost self aware in their delivery. The line readings feel idiosyncratic of the stars themselves. Almost as if Anderson is knowingly allowing the actors public persona to seep through. The beautiful of the Everglades is simply breathing all the creatures and different plant life is a joyous site to witness. The beauty of the Everglades that past generations has witness isn t the same that the current generations witness. As the years progress we continue to do more harm to our beloved Everglades. We continue to push our animals to relocate and find new homes because we take away their land for our own personal developments. The population continues to increase and that calls for newer and better developments, more and more of the Everglades is being taking away from plants and animals. This land that is being taken away from the plant and animal species is being turned into communities, shopping plazas, and other new buildings. The Everglades once rumored to be 22,000 square feet has over time become no more than 11,000 square feet. This major drop over years and years is a result of land development. The continuation of taking land away from our animal and plant life in the Everglades can result in horrible consequences. Animals will eventually be forced to find homes somewhere else and we will lose valued plant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Using Geometry And Algebra, By Brianna Baker Geometry and Algebra / By: Brianna Baker Five ways to use geometry in life is by: making my bed, telling time on a clock, wrestling, driving, and doing geometry in math class. When making a bed you use angles by horizontally pulling the covers up on to the rectangular mattress where they belong. Telling time uses angles by the short hand moving every hour and the long hand moving every minute. The hands are always either in an obtuse or acute angle. Wresting uses angles and if I wanted to grab someone I would be predicting volume. Driving is obviously geometry making U turns and turning is geometry. Doing geometry in math class today is me moving my fingers up and down to type an essay. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Wrestling teaches specific movement and lengths of reach. The game of football takes prediction of volume and of course you should now at least what angle or way to throw. Basketball is both, from hitting the back board to how high to jump. • 25. Themes Of The Four Quartets Manganiello focuses on the interplay between Dante and Eliot manifested in their use of the Incarnation. Drawing on the intent search of the confused speaker of The Waste Land, Manganiello proposes that the Four Quartets answers the search for the essential word with Logos. The epigraphs for Burnt Norton, the opening quartet, center around Logos and the intersections of time. Manganiello fleshes out Eliot s exploration of time and eternity through the lens of the Incarnation. The Incarnation is, of course, the meeting of divinity and humanity, of time and timelessness, of Logos and flesh. Drawing on Dante s comparison of God to both a circle and a point the eternal and the temporal Manganiello begins utilizing images from the Divine Comedy, specifically the Paradiso, to provide a deeper understanding of Eliot s themes in the Four Quartets. Focusing specifically on Burnt Norton, Manganiello narrows in on the rose garden, examining the primal memories of both an earthly and supra terrestrial paradise of bliss it triggers. He eventually concludes that, Eliot, like Dante, invites the reader to cross over from the human to the divine, from time to eternity (111). Switching his focus to the intersection of time and eternity in the Incarnation, Manganiello discusses an article Eliot translated for the Criterion entitled On Reading Einstein . The article, written by Charles Mauron, argues that Einstein s theory of relativity does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay on Arctic and Alpine Soils Arctic and Alpine Soils Proposal (Ant)arctic (high latitude) and alpine (mountain) areas are affected by relatively similar climates, as latitude and altitude produce similar meteorologic effects. In these geographic regions where temperature is at such a pronounced extreme, climate would seem to be the leading factor of soil development. It is my goal in this research paper to answer the following question: How do the soils of arctic and alpine areas differ? This idea, taken largely from an abstract by Birkeland (1975), will be explored through the comparison of the soils of these two geographic regions, and an analysis of the soil development factors in those environments. Introduction Both high latitude and high altitude ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However inaccurate as Dokuchaev s generalization may be, a critique of his proposal provides an excellent tool to examine and compare the soils of similar Arctic and Alpine regions. Similarity in Arctic and Alpine Geographic Regions There are pedologic cases in which one of the five soil forming factors established by Jenny (192?) is so prominent and effectual that it outweighs the sum of all of the other factors, resulting in the definition of different soil series almost wholly upon differences in that dominant soil forming factor. For example, in the Carleton Arboretum, our Soils class found that the differences in soil series were defined mostly on the basis of parent material. Most groups had a direct correlation between the distribution of soil types and the distribution of parent materials. In the case of Arctic and Alpine* soils, it is climate which largely outweighs all of the other soil forming factors. As previously stated, the intense cold associated with high latitudes and high altitudes separates Arctic and Alpine areas from other geographic regions of Earth. I believe that upon this basis Dokuchaev made his analog between horizontal and vertical zonality of soils. Through an examination of a number of Arctic and Alpine soils and the pedogeneses of such soils, I aim to expand and adjust his hypothesis, as I feel he did not understand fully the complexity of Alpine ... A Father, in a literal definition, is a man who gives care and protection to someone or something. George Washington was such a man, responsible for his patriots in the fight against the British during the American Revolution. Confederation, on the other hand, is when a group of people come together in a coalition, or fight, while working together for a common cause. The lower class in France came together in the French Revolution to fight against Louis XVI, and his intolerance towards them.
