Medus The Myth Of Medusa

Medusa
The myth of Medusa is one of the most told myths throughout history. It seems like a simple idea of
how society perceives ugliness. The myth may be saying that truly hideous people deserved the
monstrous things that are coming to them, yet there is more to the story and image of this woman.
People have to look into what happened to her that society perceives her as hideous.Society has to
think about whose fault was it for her becoming a monster. People should look into the true meaning
of Medusa. Medusa has a strong impact on Greek society mythology too? with her features, the colors
of those features, her gender, and the power she held. Her image and myth is ... Show more content on

There are some images that one can use to show Medusa, so it depends on what one wants to talk
about. The image I picked is of Medusa s head cut off on a shield (Gill, N.S.). The problem here is that
Medusa does not look that ugly. In most pictures, Medusa just looks like a beautiful woman who has
snake for her hair. It seems strange that society and history remember her as ugly. One reason is
because of the snakes in her hair. Images show that her hair is full of many snakes. On her head, is
looks to be multiple kinds of snake. Some snakes look to be dice snakes, Natrix Tessellate, which are
venomous snakes found in Europe (McLaren, John). People hate snakes and fear them. In many
cultures such as Christianity, snakes are evil. Satan took the form of one in the Garden of Eve to
seduce Adam and Eve to commit sin. It works and mankind is driven out of the Garden forever ( Are
snakes evil? Does the Bible say anything about snakes? ). The image of a snake makes many shiver in
fear of it. Most of the Greek myths show snakes in a distrustful manner. Most of Ancient Greek
believed that snakes were liars and intelligent, but not to trust them.
Medusa is an important goddess used a lot in Greek female myths. In Greek myths, her hair which is
of snakes can show the symbolism of snakes. Snakes were said to have shown the natural cycle of
birth, death, and rebirth. In Greek myths the shedding of their skins and by getting new skin it shows
rebirth. The shredding of the snakes

Seashells In Fahrenheit 451
In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury speculated many things, but one thing that he speculated that came
true was people will wear headphones or seashells instead of talking to each other and that we would
talk through the headphones instead of talking on our phones. He showed this when Mildred and
Montag were home together and Mildred has the seashells in her ears. She had both ears plugged with
the electronic bees that were humming the hour away. She looked up suddenly, saw him, and nodded
(Bradbury, 22). This happens in our society when students are walking in the halls between classes
and most people have their headphones in instead of talking to each other. Then he speculated that
people will have bluetooth technology when Montag and Faber

Reflection Of Falsettos
Falsettos, a musical written by William Finn in the 1980 s, is the story an unorthodox and highly
dysfunctional Jewish family living in New York at the end of the 1970 s. At the center of the show is a
confused middle aged man named Marvin, who introduced us to his ex wife Trina and current lover
Whizzer along with his precocious 10 year old son Jason. Throughout the course of the show many
different issues plague the family like the new family format, gay rights and the AIDS crisis that when
the show debut in 1992 were considered controversial. When the show as revived in 2016, it examined
these issues in a different light and brought forth a new way of understanding.
Falsettos originally began as two different musicals, March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland until the
original Broadway run when they were combined and each musical was turned into its own act. The
story explains the lives of Marvin, his son Jason, the psychiatrist Mendel, Marvin s ex wife Trina and
his boyfriend Whizzer. The two opening numbers Four Jews in a Room Bitching and A Tight Knit
Family give the audience an introduction into the lives of the characters and some of the issues that
are going to be dealt with throughout the course of the show. Marvin has recently left his wife Trina to
be with his lover Whizzer which has greatly disrupted the life of his 10 year old son. Due to this, Trina
and Marvin try to get Jason to see the therapist they have both been seeing to try and figure out their

Hamlet Grief In Hamlet

Evolution of Hamlet s Emotional Suffering
Since the tense conclusion of the 2016 presidential election, many people have felt a tremendous
amount grief surrounding the results. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way
people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce
today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began
creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered
depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the
world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and
politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American
society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a
result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their
passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play
Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. Between
his first and second soliloquy, Hamlet s method of coping with grief transitions from projecting his
animosity outwards at those around him to then directing it inwards with intense self loathing,

Descriptive Essay On The Getty Museum
Driving down the 405 freeway will now be a different experience for myself. Prior to the weekend of
June 11, 2017, The Getty Museum was always a mystery. There are a several things I really enjoyed
about the museum. It was surprising to learn the Getty Center is free for everyone that attends. When
arriving we of course had to pay for parking, which was fifteen dollars for an all day parking pass.
With the parking pass, the museum allows you to leave and return once within the same day. This is
ideal for those who rather get food off the museum s property. When arriving at the museum we rode
on a six minute tram ride. The tram ride was included in the price of parking. Walking up to the
museum s entrance was an experience of its own. The architecture was entertaining. There were
several areas that grabbed the viewers attention. After speaking to a museum employee, I was able to
notice different areas with in the museum. The architect used large pooped out stones to grab the
viewers attention. These pooped out stones provide a path to view points with in the museum. For
example; one pooped out stone showed a view of the Central Garden, another lead us to a view of Los
Angeles. The views were beautiful from the guided points. The museum was broke up into different
pavilions. Each pavilion had a different theme, it was very easy to locate each pavilion and artwork
within the building. One pavilion had a Changing Exhibition. While visiting the theme of the West
Pavilion was The Lure of Italy: Artist Views. I soon realized all areas of the museum change to help
protect the art on display. Areas of the Getty Museum included several painting galleries, sculpture,
decorative art galleries, architecture, gardens and of course the changing exhibits. While walking
through the buildings it was fascinating to see all the different styles of art on display. Artists all have
their own techniques when creating their expression of what they see. Many paintings dated back to
the 1700 s and seemed to have very little cracks or signs of age within the paintings. While
experiencing the painting galleries, I was hopeful to find a painting by both Vincent van Gogh and
Claude Monet. To my surprise the museum had one piece by

Principles Of The International Olympic Committee
Within every business or organization, there must be a set of values and goals that are established to
prove consistency throughout their existence. These values and principles are there for them to follow
and to lay groundwork as to how they should handle everything that encompasses their organization.
In the same way, the International Olympic Committee was set to provide a charter to highlight their
mission and their principles. While it has become clear that Olympism aims to promote a joy of effort,
the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental
ethical principles (IOC, 2015, p.13), it has also become evident that they must partner with sponsors to
avoid debt like in the example of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This in return turns out to be misleading to the investors, but since General Electric is also sponsoring
the Olympics this could cause one to question the true stance on their sponsorship. By General
Electric deviating from SEC rules, it s as if the International Olympic Committee were not to follow
the charter and to be going against their values of following good governance within their
organization.
Considering the above contradiction, a solution would be to get more involved in the governance of
General Electrics. A way to do this would be to have the International Olympic Committees financial
auditors evaluate and monitor General Electric s financial auditors and double check their work. This
would ensure that any wrong doing on General Electric s behalf be taken care of immediately and with
advice from the International Olympic Committee on making the right decision that will go along with
their values. Through this solution, the Olympics don t risk losing a highly ranked company as a
sponsor, but can also aid in reducing irrevocable mistakes.
Furthermore, two other sponsors, Samsung and Panasonic have undergone scandals that contradict the
Olympics values. In November of 2016, Samsung and Panasonic were under investigation for abusing
labor rights. In their supply chains in Malaysia, workers seemed to be deceived regarding pay and
worked long hours with an inadequate amount of rest (Pattison, 2016). As sponsors of the

used for most kinds of crime, including fraud, theft, larceny, embezzlement, burglary, sabotage,
espionage, murder, and forgery, since the first cases were reported in 1958. One study of 1,500
computer crimes established that most of them were committed by trusted computer users within

pedophile, surfs the net looking to build relationships with young boys or girls and then sets out to

child pornography over the internet. Virtual crimes. Stock and bond fraud is already appearing on the
internet. Stocks and bonds that appear on the market are actively traded (for a short period of time)
and then disappear. These stocks and bonds are nonexistent only the electronic impulses are read. One
must note, however, no matter how clever the hacker, the most serious security threat in most
enterprises is password theft. Password stealing is the holy grail of hacking. Once a
username/password combination has been found, the hacker has free rein to exploit that user account.

Symbolic Elements in The Lord of the Flies by William Golding
In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding the stranded boys come into contact with some
particular elements that represent an idea which are called symbols. These symbols include the beast
which represents the fear of the unknown and the darkness of mankind. The second symbol is the
signal fire which represents hope. The third symbol is the conch shell which represents order. Golding
indicates that when man is taken out of civilization, they have a natural instinct is to become evil,
darkness and barbaric and these symbols help to support his opinion.
One of the main problems that the boys had on the island was the beast. In their minds the beast was a
terrible creature that was out to kill them. Their fear of the beast ruined ... Show more content on

The fire was his only hope of keeping it together and acting like a human being. Once it was gone, so
was any hope of being civilized.
One of the most important symbols in Lord of the Flies is the conch shell. It represents law, order and
power. The shell was the only way to gather everybody from their scattered places on the island.
When the conch was blown the boys knew that the chief had something important to say. Once
everyone was gathered at the meeting, the holder of the shell was the only person allowed to speak. In
the novel, Golding compared the conch shell to its opposite; the pig s head. The head contradicted the
shell because it characterized chaos and terror. The shell also emphasized that power is fake. A flag is
no more meaningful than the conch that Ralph had. It s the meaning behind it and the meaning that
people give it that makes it important. Rules are only powerful if everyone agrees on them. Ralph
realized this once Jack left and took most of the group with him. If he blew the conch and no one
came, the shell would lose all of its power. If I blow the conch and they don t come back; then we ve
had it. We shan t keep the fire going. We ll be like animals. We ll never be rescued. (Golding 124)
When the conch breaks, so does Ralph s power and Jack takes his spot as chief.
William Golding uses young boys on an island as an example to show that the world is

Child Labour Essay
Child labour is the practice of having children engage in economic activity, on part or full time basis.
The practice deprives children of their childhood, and is harmful to their physical and mental
development. Poverty, lack of good schools and growth of informal economy are considered as the
important causes of child labour in India.
The 2001 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour, aged 5 14, to be at 12.6
million. In 2001, out of a 12.6 million, about 12 million children in India were in a hazardous job.
UNICEF estimates that India with its larger population has the highest number of labourers in the
world less than 14 years of age, while sub Saharan African countries have the highest percentage of
children who are deployed as child labour. International Labour Organisation estimates that
agriculture at 60 percent is the largest employer of child labour in India, while United Nation s Food
and Agriculture Organisation estimates 70% of child labour is deployed in agriculture and related
activities. Outside of agriculture, child labour is observed in almost all informal sectors of the Indian
economy.
Companies including Gap, Primark, Monsanto and others have been criticised for child labour in their
products. The companies claim they have strict policies against selling products made by underage
kids, but there are many links in a supply chain making it difficult to police them all. In 2011, after
three years of Primark s effort, BBC

Medifast Program Analysis
The Medifast program is a scientifically backed weight loss program. This program consists of
nutrient dense meals and vitamins (Medifast Inc., 2016). Medifast s most popular meal plan is five
Medifast meals and one lean and green meal. Each Medifast meal has the same amount of calories and
nutrients, meals are 100 calories each, the lean and green meal consists of 7oz of lean protein and
endless amount of greens in the form of veggies or salad. The reason why this plan works is
individuals are only consuming less than 1000 calories a day. This helps individuals with portion
control and gives them the daily requirements of vitamins and minerals. The basic nature of the
Medifast diet it to restrict the caloric intake of obese individuals and supplement with Medifast
prepared meals, this ensures optimal weight loss, medical monitoring comes along with this diet,
individuals will need to get blood work and routine physician visits, this ensures that individuals are

Modern society is plagued by incessant monotony. However, Albert Camus s existential story The

Albert Camus conveys, in The Myth of Sisyphus, that acceptingf tedium as impermeable, more

not unique an individual and that one should steer away from the natural default setting of being self

To this, Joseph Campbell responds, it s very nice to be able to put yourself in situations that will evoke
your higher nature, rather than your basic urges or daily drudgery , presenting his idea that tedium is
conquerable part of each person s life. Juxtaposing Joseph Campbell, Camus relays that it is during the
period of consciousness and acknowledgement where Sisyphus, is superior to his fate. He is stronger
than his rock (Camus). As Sisyphus continues to push his rock up the mountain, his moment of
consciousness attributes to the proposition that tedium is, once again, insurmountable. He understands
that his tedium can never be completely omitted from his life, thus acceptance is the only method of
achieving a perceivable end goal. As elaborated by Camus, the idea of a journey through tedium
towards the ultimate goal of a place of rest is actually a futile task. As humanity is unable to surmount
tedium due to its unassailable nature, and thus, the prevention of fruitless efforts and emphasis on
productive endeavors is the most effective method of dealing with the tedium of everyday

Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (...
Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic
HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output
adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues.
Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to
myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few.
Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will
alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte
contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased
left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload.
Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result
from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying,
increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated
afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase
in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more
energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers.
Ventricular remodeling continues, further

Section 1: Identification and Evaluation of sources This investigation will explore the question: To
what extent did the oral constitution of the Native Americans, Iroquois Confederacy in specific, affect
the development of the American Constitution? The years 1780 to 1790 will be the focus of this
investigation, to allow for an analysis of the influences on the writing of the United States
Constitution. The first source which will be evaluated in depth is Elizabeth Tooker s book The U.S.
Constitution and the Iroquois League , written in 1988. The origin of this source is valuable because
Tooker is a Professor Emerita of Anthropology at Temple University and has extensively written about
the Native American tribes and the Iroquois, indicating that she is knowledgeable on this topic.
Furthermore, the date of the publication of this source, 1988, strengthens its value, as the Senate had

porn stars are notorious about their long lasting and wild sexual intercourse and bid penis size which
every normal individual can only dream about. As a matter of fact, not every porn star uses some sort
of medication to stay long last but there are some regular guys who uses different sort of techniques to
overcome their early ejaculation. This is absolutely an art which requires so much of stamina to stop

Start Stop Method
This is the most primary technique to stop you from jerk off. The technique lies in forming an okey

Reflection On The Seamstress
The Seamstress dramatically changed how I viewed the Holocaust because it not only showed me how

Seamstress I did not fully grasp the concept of the Holocaust or the fact that the Jews were scared for
their lives. My knowledge of the tragic event was very vague, and I didn t understand it was so
horrific. Not only were the survivors extremely brave, but they also suffered unbearable scenarios
which I, myself, do not believe I could withstand. Initially, the book showed me that the Jews were
despised, preyed upon, and often felt very unsafe just walking in the street. It s very sad that people
felt unsafe around their homes, and where they grew up. It s also sad that Jews were harrassed in the
street and around their houses. I think you should be able to walk freely without being nervous to be
taunted. The Jews, however, couldn t walk freely, were so often spit on, and called names by the
Germans. Sadly, even the kids were being so mean to the Jews. I believe that hate and racism is

allows muscle to contract and nerves to send signals, makes blood vessels expand and contract, helps
to move blood clots, and it also plays a roles in supporting protein function and hormone regulation
(3). Knowing calcium role, it is easy to see how it can lead to a decrease in bone density. Inadequate
calcium intake can lead to decreased bone mineral density, which can increase the risk of bone
fractures (13). A few ways an agent may increase fracture risk and/ or skeletal fragility include an
interference with the bone remodeling process designed to detect and repair fatigue damage in bone
structures and also a decrease in bone tissue mass either generally or in key architectural elements

Explain How Human Geography And Physical Geography
How human geography and physical geography overlap The influence of natural environment of
human activity are very huge. First of all, we have terrains. The influence of terrains on rural tribes is
very apparent. Rivers in plain area is less, and the terrain is complete, open and flat. So the shape of
the village assumes the circular or irregular polygon and more concentrated. However, in river less
area, villages along the river or valley stretching and villages scattered and quite small. Second , the
water. Villages are generally close to the water. In the water supply adequate areas, Village is
concentrated and have large scale. In water supply scarce areas, the village is fragmented and
smaller. In dry and desert areas, village is distributed in the area rich in oasis or groundwater.
The third one is climate. If area rich in precipitation, most of the roof are inclined. This is in favour for
the rain come down. And most of the plants are very good live in the more water areas. So people
usually use bamboo to build their house. Because of the rain is very often, the ground and the air are
very damply. So people s houses usually impending. The less rainfall area home usually use flat roof.
So people usually use earth and rocks to build their house.
The fourth one is temperature. When the areas in the high ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Interview With Sign Language
On December 2 Mrs. Hover came in and we interviewed her through sign language. I was the first
group to go up and I was nervous because I was worried I d mess up, forget my sign language or not
be understood. Mrs. Hover asked us our name and I signed Sabrina with no hesitation or problem.
After a minute I was more comfortable signing and wasn t nervous anymore. I asked Mrs. Hover if
she was in any Deaf clubs and I was surprised with her answer because, she stated that she wasn t in
any and that she didn t like Deaf clubs. I was surprised because I expected her to love them or be in
more than one Deaf club. I tried to ask her what it was like to raise a deaf son, but I had trouble

The gymnastics and raise sign, in my opinion, were iconic. Pizza had many sign, but my favorite was
the one you sign on your face. When I asked her how to sign band she asked what instrument I played
and I finger spelled clarinet; therefore, she showed me the sign for clarinet and the sign for clarinet
was an iconic sign.
I thought it was funny when William asked her do you drive because she yelled Really! and looked at
Mrs. Riggs who laughed. I also thought it was funny when her son asked her if she drives and she told
him how did you get here . At the end she let us choose two suckers, which I thought was very sweet.
Overall I really enjoyed signing with her because I thought she signed very clear, she wasn t impatient
and she could speak very well. I wouldn t mind if we had to interview or talk with her again. I think it
is extraordinary how deaf people can be great friends with hearing people because even though there
so different they still get along. Also in the past people wouldn t be friends with deaf people because
they all believed they would perish in hell since they couldn t hear the word of God. I also think it is
amazing how a deaf female could be such a great mother to her hearing child because, she has to teach

Persuasive Essay On Smokeless Tobacco
Hank, you know that you are my boss, a father figure in my life, a mentor, and one of my best friends.
I couldn t ask for anyone better than you and I cannot thank you enough for all the things you have
done for me over the last two years. One think that I have noticed though is that you love your
smokeless tobacco. Don t get me wrong, where I come from almost everyone uses tobacco in some
type of way, especially in the military, but you mean a lot to me Hank and I want you to be aware of
the risk you re really taking when you use the snus and chewing tobacco.
Let s just start with one of the main reasons on why using smokeless tobacco is bad for you, it
contains multitude of chemicals, some of which cause cancer. Of some of the 4,000+ chemicals found
in a can of chewing tobacco (The Effects Of Physical Withdrawal, 2013), some of these include;
formaldehyde, arsenic, polonium 210 (nuclear waste), cadmium (car battery additive), acetone (paint
stripper), ammonia, and Nitrosamines. According to the American Cancer Society, that least thirty (30)
of these chemicals found in smokeless tobacco are cancer causing agents. (Berger, 2015) Of these
cancer causing chemical, the most harmful are Tobacco Specific Nitrosamines (TSNAs) Some of the
cancers that smokeless tobacco can attribute too include, but are not limited to; mouth, tongue, cheek,
gum, esophageal, and pancreatic. (Berger, 2015) Hank, I know that you re probably heard all of this
before, but I ve heard your excuse before It s a safer alternative than cigarettes. Hank, have you ever
read one of the front labels found on most cans that state, This product is not a safe alternative to
cigarettes.
I know you find that putting a nice wad of chewing tobacco, or maybe one of the new pouches in
helps you relieve a good amount of stress in that instance, but there are many different facts to that
matter Hank. First off, nicotine is highly addictive (Health First) and being so addictive to something
like nicotine will usually cause a dependency on the substance. Also, the problem doesn t just lie
within the addiction to the nicotine and other chemicals within the tobacco, but also with developing
the habit of using the smokeless tobacco. Almost every time

Power Of Education In Malala
Education is a valuable tool that helps guide our lives every day. Imagine if it were taken away. Malala
Yousafzai had her education taken away when the Taliban invaded her village in Northern Pakistan.
This changed her life, and education became her passion, as she did whatever she could to try and get
it back. Malala made speeches and was called for interviews because of her passion for fighting for
education for all children. Later, she was targeted and shot by the Taliban specifically for advocating
for girls education. Malala is inspired by her mother, father, and her country s history. Malala values
and fights for human rights to education because her personal access to education was compromised,
and because she believes that education is the basis of freedom, giving people choices in their own
lives. The experiences of her mother, Toor Pekai, greatly impact Malala s life. Toor Pekai regrets that
she never received a full education because she now feels locked into a societal stereotype. Her family
encouraged her to go to school, but she thought that because she was a woman she would end up
cleaning and cooking and never have a job, so she quit school. Malala writes that one day [Toor Pekai]
sold her books for nine annas, spent the money on boiled sweets and never went back. (Yousafzai 40).
Toor Pekai does not know how to read or write, and that greatly restricts her life. Malala has grown up

to the Bronfenbrenner theory macrosystem would be defined as the society and subculture in which an

And So We Put Goldfish In The Pool

Adam New
Exploring the banality of living in a small town, And So We Put Goldfish in the Pool. is a quirky short
film from the Land of the Rising Sun.
For decades, Japan has been a breeding ground for some of the most unique and innovative
filmmaking in the history of the industry. Directors like Akira Kurosawa, Hayao Miyazaki, and
Yasujirō Ozu are considered visionaries, and filmmakers today use their work as inspiration for their
own. Even today, many Japanese movies manage to achieve high acclaim, even outside of its borders.
The films of Takashi Miike, Beat Takeshi Kitano, and others like them have garnered cult followings
with Western audiences. With this in mind, it is no surprise that Japanese short films can also do well
stateside. One recent example is And So We Put Goldfish in the Pool. (translated from the Japanese,
Sōshite watashitachi wa pūru ni kingyo o, ), a 2016 drama written and directed by Makoto Nagahisa.
Running at just over twenty eight minutes, this short film has been received tremendously well,

Chocolate Syrup and Milk
Introduction: We were testing the solubility of the chocolate syrup brands while being stirred in whole
milk. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason.
This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are
ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve.
Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients
and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained
from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve,
from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it
did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed
from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour.
Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High
Fructose Corn Syrup.

Civil Disobedience, Moral Responsibility of a Citizen? Yes, civil disobedience is a moral
responsibility of a citizen because, if a large group of people do not agree with a law because it is
random, illogical or suppressive then it falls on them to provoke a change. Civil disobedience varies
from person to person because everyone has different definitions of right and wrong. In order to be
civilly disobedient you must have the right intentions at the beginning of your actions. In India s

Gandhi was a huge reason Britain left India. A point that Gandhi made for being civilly disobedient
was satyagraha and it is insistence on truth, a way of reform with nonviolent actions. One who resorts
to it does not have to break another s head; he may merely have his own head broken. He has to be
prepared to die himself suffering all the pain (Civil Disobedience). This is a form of countering an
unjust law with civil disobedience because you are breaking that law, peacefully and provoking a
response from the government. You are not performing a violent action that causes harm. Thus
provoking a response from the government means it is working, and not fighting back will inspire

the three social classes in the republic because people cannot survive alone, a farmer won t make his

twenty distinct roles in society at the same time. This will not uphold an entire city and will only

Examples Of Dualism In Star Trek
In the Star Trek episode that was viewed, it turns into a question if Data should have the authority to
choose if he can be knocked down as an approach for his friends to learn more about him. Maddox
signals Data on it and has a disagreement that the technology perhaps is used to establish a force of
androids that would support their search farther. Everybody who sees this episode realizes that Data
appears and operates like a natural and ordinary human. A dualism aspect is presented when Captain
Picard mentions that he thinks that Data has the option to say no to being disassembled. According to
Hasker (1983), Dualism begins by taking quite seriously that human beings have both physical
properties and mental properties (Husker, 1983). He continues by observing that this is opposed to
other assumptions like that of idealism and behaviorism which weaken the two together into one.
(Hasker, 1983). Dualism is made clear more when Hasker states that, physical properties are
properties of the body, while mental properties are properties of the mind, (Hasker, 1983). Picard
applies dualism to illustrate that Data is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Materialism does not deny that humans have both mental and physical attributes but says that both are
attributes of the same thing namely, the living human organism (Hasker, 1983, p.69 70). Maddox
could be arguing whether Data or any other computer, is able really to think as opposed to simulating
thought processes (p. 70). Knowing this is what Maddox uses to deny that Data even has a soul, he
believes that Data is the property of Starfleet and can be used as they see fit. This means that Data
does not have free will and therefore does not have the right to refuse being disassembled and cannot
quit from Starfleet. It is said in the chapter by Maddox and Commander Riker that Data is just a group
of chips, wires, and programming, and only looks

Sexual Harassment And The Workplace

just as terrible. Some employee s can become worried about mentioning to their supervisors about
possible sexual harassments for reasons such as, worrying about what other people will think, not

When you put business before your employees, you can create problems that you may not even think
about. Wallner is probably one of the most unethical people I have heard of. If you were to pay off an
individual in certain workplaces at certain companies right now, there would be so many lawsuits that
we wouldn t be able to keep up. Even to mention to an employee that you would pay them off can
cause a lawsuit. If anyone were to ask me that question I would leave the company because that sexual
harassment will probably happen to me again, let alone my supervisor clearly doesn t care about my
safety. You can t buy off employee silence; it is unethical and simply wrong. Not only is this company
making a terrible name for itself, but also it is giving their employee s a dangerous and careless work
environment. The employer is liable if it knew or should have known about the harassment, unless it
took immediate and appropriate corrective action (Workplace Fairness). Not only is Wallner putting
his employee s at risk, but himself as well. It doesn t matter if you have a top rock star , it matters if
you have an employee how knows how to respect their job and their co workers. Such situations
should not be tolerated by anyone and the supervisor should be held accountable to protect their
employees.

Pros And Cons Of Napoleon Bonaparte
Napoleon Bonaparte was a powerful leader who established the foundations of modern Europe
through an administration riddled with controversy. Napoleon came to power in 1799 by overthrowing
The Directory in France and appointing himself as the emperor, thus having complete control over the
country. Napoleon s most lasting achievements include instituting the Napoleonic code, taking control
of nearly all of Europe, and engaging in numerous battles with European nations. After years of
serving in Europe, Napoleon had many foreign interactions and made himself a reputation split

In the years of Napoleon s reign, he engaged in numerous wars throughout Europe to dominate nations
and force them under his control, resulting in the loss of hundreds of thousands of lives. Although,
some may say most of the wars were not initiated by Napoleon himself, and he was only responding to
a foreign threat. However, that statement is unfair because those countries only engaged in battle when
they felt Napoleon s spreading control threaten their nations. France was a powerful force and the
weaker European countries allied together to stop Napoleon from overthrowing their governments and
forcing his control on them. Not only did Napoleon take control of neighboring countries to France,
but he forced his administration, specifically the Napoleonic code, on them as well. When instituting
the Napoleonic code, many people rejoiced over the enlightened ideas it spread and freedom it
promoted. However, most, if not all of Napoleon s positive reforms were done so with negative
intentions or a counter force in mind. For instance, Napoleon restricted all information in and out of
France that viewed him negatively or could potentially obstruct the submissive society he built. In
fact, plays, newspapers, and books were censored, which kept his citizens in the dark. The deceit
continued when Napoleon promised freedom for all people, but went back on his word once it was no

Analysis Of The Movie Juice
Aristotle was an ancient Greek philosopher and scientist that laid much of the foundation for Western
philosophy. He was a person who sought out explanations that were unorthodox. His principles of
common sense were built on naturalism and self realization, which greatly influenced the world. His
systematic concept of logic touched upon ethics. As an illustration, in the movie Juice, some of
Aristotle s beliefs and principles on friendship, character, and happiness are heavily portrayed
throughout the film. The movie Juice, is a story of four male teenage friends from Harlem. They re
causing trouble around the neighborhood and running away from their responsibilities to gain respect;
or what some may call the juice. Earlier in the film, a group of males confronted them on the street
with a gun. Ever since, the antagonist Bishop, Tupac Shakur, has the mentality of, Do you respect me,
or do you respect my gun? The answer is: You don t have that gun, there s no way we re having this
conversation. Ultimately, Bishop obtained a gun and wanted to get the juice by holding up the local
corner store. On the other hand, the protagonist Q, Omar Epps, is an aspiring DJ who wants to make it
out of his circumstances. He didn t want anything to do with the stick up and focused on a DJ contest
at a local club. However, Bishop took on the revenge, eat or be eaten mentality, and pestered them into

Christian Philosophy Versus Christian Worldview
Introduction
Human viewpoint differs and leads to diverse worldviews. Several factors contribute to the creation of
worldviews; the environment, experiences and most importantly the education that a human is
exposed to. The question is often asked if there is such a thing as a right or wrong worldview, since it
can consist of subjective opinions on life, love, family and religious philosophies. These worldviews
create philosophical questions regarding how society truly functions and different human principles.
As educators it is critical that one nurtures the Christian mind in order to fulfill the Christian
worldview. It is also absolutely essential that the education system and learning objectives put forward
are relevant because they make significant contributions to worldview.
This paper aims to discuss Christian philosophy versus Christian worldview and explain how they are
directly related. It will also describe what the author of this paper believes the truth about society is
and their vision for a better society. The paper will also identify the roles of the teacher and leaner and
finally discuss the roles of the society, government, church, and family in the development of
curriculum.
Christian Philosophy and Worldview
Christian philosophy is defined as a way of life. It involves the reason for human life, why human life
was created and sustained by God and nourished by His Spirit, and lastly, to where our human life is

Animal Culture And Its Effects On Human Culture
Animal culture is studied through comparative studies between populations and locations, field
observations, and laboratory experiments. It is important to be critical in evaluating the results of these
studies because behaviors in artificial situations or captivity will be different than in the wild. Animals
are likely to act differently when they are not in their natural environment. Behaviors will vary and the
long lasting effects of the behaviors may not be visible (Lalaland, 2003). Evidence of non human
culture has been found in animals such as songbirds, whales, dolphins, primates, and ants. Non human
behaviors are seen as encompassing culture if they meet certain conditions: the behavior must be

Another important aspect about the cultural evidence is it was first observed in 1952 and eight
generations later, in 2008, was still being observed in the wild monkeys. The monkeys on this island
develop behavioral differences as a result of social learning rather than genetic variation (Matsuzawa,
2008: R588). The next study regarding primates was seen in 2010 while observing wild chimpanzees
in Uganda, with cultural differences between two populations in different areas. The chimpanzees
displayed different ways of utilizing tools around them to retrieve honey within the fallen logs around
them. The Kibale Forest chimps used sticks while the Budongo Forest chimps utilized leaves sponges
that were made from chewed leaves. To study the differences, researchers provided the monkeys with
a task to retrieve honey out of an apparatus. Each group resorted to behaviors that they had been
familiar with in the beginning, those from Kibale using sticks and Budongo resorting to leave sponges

cultural knowledge in trying to solve the novel task and that culture helped them in dealing with this
novel problem. The behaviors were specific to each population that they developed through social

Age Of Disillusionment Research Paper

The Age of Disillusionment The Age of Disillusionment can be defined as a time when tragedies such
as war and poverty caused many to lose their naïve and carefree way of life. During this time, people
believed life was dangerous, and they were afraid of what would happen next in their lives. The fear
they felt during this time was a result of World War I, World War II, the Great Depression, and the
devastation they brought (Hitt). Much like President Woodrow Wilson s War Message to Congress and
Phillip Larkin s poem MCMXIV, the Age of Disillusionment was filled with hopelessness and fear as
a result of tragic events such as the sinking of the passenger ship, the Lusitania. On May 1, 1915, the

He knew he had to do something to stop the tyrannical German government from wreaking any more
havoc upon the lives of civilians (Wilson). President Wilson s speech is very characteristic of the Age
of Disillusionment because, like many works during the age, his speech is about people coming to
terms with the fact that their loved ones have died and how they feel hopeless for a better life. During
this age, people began to question whether they were safe (Hitt). President Wilson says the only way
to ensure a safer life and better future for all, was to go to war with Germany. He knew that people
would be scared to take such a large risk, and knew that many would die, but he also knew that it must
be done. Four days after his speech, the United States of America officially entered World War I
(Wilson). The amount of loss that was to come in the war would only lead to Americans being more
fearful and the feeling of disillusionment during the age would only grow. As a result, the literary
aspect of the Age of Disillusionment flourished and quickly became one of the most influential ages in

Online Music Is Changing Mp3 Players
Perhaps one of the greatest innovations in the early nineties for music was the mp3 player. This may
be due to the fact that the mp3 has had a huge impact upon both the music industry and societies
listeners. Weinstock stated that, the world of the mp3 is a fast growing music technology available to
anyone with Internet access. Fan are promoting the mp3 as the most personalized music form ever
created that will propel music into the next millennium (9). The invention of the mp3 is notable for
producing and changing the music industry s role through the changed in the copyright and ownership
issues. In what follows, I will argue how the face of online music is changing mp3 players. Firstly,
through examining the numerous ways people can download and transfer music onto their mp3
handheld player. Through drawing upon the concepts of YouTube; a website for posting video clips,
iTunes; a digital media player application, Spotfiy; a music streaming service and mp3.com ; a
company to emerge around the idea of free music. Secondly, I will discuss the mp3 player not as
software, but as an object that is constantly connected between our body and new media. I will
formulate the notions of remediation and analogue to digital media as key terms that have allowed the
mp3 to become such a prominent form that was crucial to the experience of music.
Technologies are cultural objects that are created by other people, which give information about the
creator and its users. Every

QUESTION PRESENTED Under Vermont Common Law does Mr. John Ellis recently created
chicken coop in a residential neighborhood constitutes a private nuisance when Mr. Ellis rooster and
the hens generate odors and noises that could be considered unreasonable and substantial interferences
with Ms. Alicia Carmody s enjoyment of her yard?
BRIEF ANSWER Probably yes. Mr. John Ellis lives in a residential neighborhood where the houses
are big and are on small lots very close to each other. From the facts presented against Mr. Ellis, ...

Coty v. Ramsey Assocs., 149 Vt. 451, 457 (Vt. 1988). In Coty, when one is trying to determine
whether a particular type of interference is substantial the interference would have to be deemed as
having definite offensiveness, inconvenience or annoyance to the normal person in the community. Id.
So, has to be determined if the recently constructed chicken coop in Mr. Ellis yard are substantial and
unreasonable enough to create a private nuisance according to Vermont law. Id. For a nuisance to be
unreasonable it means that it would not be reasonable to permit the defendant to cause such an amount
of harm intentionally without compensating for it. W. Prosser, Law of Torts § 88, at 626 37,626 (5th
ed. 2001). A. Mr. Ellis chicken coops are considered a substantial interference with an individual s
enjoyment of the individual s property. The interference with the other properties would have to
offensive, inconvenience or annoyance to the normal person in the community. Coty, 149 Vt. 451, 457
(1988). The fact that Ms. Carmody cannot go outside and enjoy her yard because of the smell
generated by Mr. Ellis chicken coop creates an act that is inconvenient for Ms. Carmody. Id. The
crowing generated by the rooster in the morning and throughout the day has become an annoyance to
Ms. Carmody because the crowing is so continuous throughout the day. Both the noise and the smell
can be looked as being offensive to Ms.

Just in Time
1. Executive Summary
This report provides an analysis and evaluation of the Just In Time system, the advantages and
disadvantages of the system and how it would benefit AG Z. The Just In Time (JIT) system is a
process where goods are ordered as required, as opposed to the currently used batch processing system
where goods are made in bulk and stored in warehouses until sold. The Just In Time system was
initially developed to not only cut down the amount of waste produced by other systems, which was
seen as incurring unnecessary costs rather than adding value to the company, but to also meet
customer demands with minimum delays. It has been found that when implemented correctly the JIT
system can benefit the company in numerous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In its simplest terms, the Kanban system is used to alert the production team exactly what needs to be
produced, the quantity required and the designated time frame (Horngren, George Srikant 1997).
5. Expected Results
The Batch Processing System currently used at AG Z is a system where products are produced in bulk
quantities or batches whether required by the customer or not. These goods are then stored in
warehouses until required. This process produces large amounts of waste in both inventory and
warehousing as the goods are not sold immediately, and could be required to be held for any length of
time.
The Just in Time system however is a process that produces necessary products as required. This
system is highly beneficial as it reduces the amount of inventory waste, as the goods are made to
order. It also reduces warehousing costs as the goods are made and shipped directly to the customer
rather than being held for extended periods at the warehouse.
As a result of these benefits, the JIT system has been particularly effective for companies with a high
customer demand on newly developed technologies such as computers. If the product is produced
when required and as specified by the customer, this not only allows the customer to order exactly
what they want with modern technology, but it also benefits the manufacturer who is guaranteed a
return on the goods straight

Champion Of The World By Maya Angelou Analysis
Both Maya Angelou of Champion of the World , and Amy Tan of Fish Cheeks write anecdotal short
stories which express their isolation from the dominant Anglo culture while delving into deeper detail
as to why they feel such a great sense of alienation. Although both stories take place within different
settings and time periods, a primary commonality they share comes from within the detachment they
feel as minorities within a larger, more dominant community. Each author expertly employs literary
devices such as description and narrative style within their writing to express the primary underlying
message of their anecdotal stories; however, placing emphasis on the descriptive aspects of a story and
setting more often seems to give the audience greater clarity and insight into the situation and setting.
In Tan s story, objects of familiarity and a myriad of overwhelming are described in intense detail.
Therefore, Tan s heavy emphasis of description throughout her story resonates more strongly with the
reader. By thoroughly analyzing the text, we can observe how and why the literary element which the
authors place more focus on is an important aspect toward expressing the theme of cultural isolation,
as well as to how Tan s usage of description give the audience more insight as a result.
In the short story Champion of the World by Maya Angelou, the author s sense of alienation from the
dominant culture of her time period is expressed through her distinct telling of the

  • 2. Medus The Myth Of Medusa Mackenna Kayser Semantic Essay Advanced Composition Mr. Atkinson Date Medusa The myth of Medusa is one of the most told myths throughout history. It seems like a simple idea of how society perceives ugliness. The myth may be saying that truly hideous people deserved the monstrous things that are coming to them, yet there is more to the story and image of this woman. People have to look into what happened to her that society perceives her as hideous.Society has to think about whose fault was it for her becoming a monster. People should look into the true meaning of Medusa. Medusa has a strong impact on Greek society mythology too? with her features, the colors of those features, her gender, and the power she held. The image I picked is of Medusa s head cut off on a shield (Gill, N.S.). The problem here is that Medusa does not look that ugly. In most pictures, Medusa just looks like a beautiful woman who has snake for her hair. It seems strange that society and history remember her as ugly. One reason is because of the snakes in her hair. Images show that her hair is full of many snakes. On her head, is looks to be multiple kinds of snake. Some snakes look to be dice snakes, Natrix Tessellate, which are venomous snakes found in Europe (McLaren, John). People hate snakes and fear them. In many cultures such as Christianity, snakes are evil. Satan took the form of one in the Garden of Eve to seduce Adam and Eve to commit sin. It works and mankind is driven out of the Garden forever ( Are snakes evil? Does the Bible say anything about snakes? ). The image of a snake makes many shiver in fear of it. Most of the Greek myths show snakes in a distrustful manner. Most of Ancient Greek believed that snakes were liars and intelligent, but not to trust them. Medusa is an important goddess used a lot in Greek female myths. In Greek myths, her hair which is of snakes can show the symbolism of snakes. Snakes were said to have shown the natural cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. In Greek myths the shedding of their skins and by getting new skin it shows rebirth. The shredding of the snakes ... Seashells In Fahrenheit 451 In Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury speculated many things, but one thing that he speculated that came true was people will wear headphones or seashells instead of talking to each other and that we would talk through the headphones instead of talking on our phones. He showed this when Mildred and Montag were home together and Mildred has the seashells in her ears. She had both ears plugged with the electronic bees that were humming the hour away. She looked up suddenly, saw him, and nodded (Bradbury, 22). • 4. Reflection Of Falsettos Falsettos, a musical written by William Finn in the 1980 s, is the story an unorthodox and highly dysfunctional Jewish family living in New York at the end of the 1970 s. At the center of the show is a confused middle aged man named Marvin, who introduced us to his ex wife Trina and current lover Whizzer along with his precocious 10 year old son Jason. Throughout the course of the show many different issues plague the family like the new family format, gay rights and the AIDS crisis that when the show debut in 1992 were considered controversial. When the show as revived in 2016, it examined these issues in a different light and brought forth a new way of understanding. Falsettos originally began as two different musicals, March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland until the original Broadway run when they were combined and each musical was turned into its own act. The story explains the lives of Marvin, his son Jason, the psychiatrist Mendel, Marvin s ex wife Trina and his boyfriend Whizzer. The two opening numbers Four Jews in a Room Bitching and A Tight Knit Family give the audience an introduction into the lives of the characters and some of the issues that are going to be dealt with throughout the course of the show. Marvin has recently left his wife Trina to be with his lover Whizzer which has greatly disrupted the life of his 10 year old son. Hamlet Grief In Hamlet Wyatt Johnson Hamlet 3HP November 17, 2017 16701 Evolution of Hamlet s Emotional Suffering Since the tense conclusion of the 2016 presidential election, many people have felt a tremendous amount grief surrounding the results. For much of America, this grief has completely changed the way people live their lives. According to an article by the LA Times [source needed], 35% of the workforce today feels more stressed at work due to politics. Following the election, countless people began creating scapegoats to blame for their loss. In some extreme circumstances, the results triggered depression and almost a political sickness for some people. Furthermore, they directed their rage at the world and then began to focus that anger on people such as their neighbors, co workers, and politicians. This atmosphere of taking sides has created an exceptional rift in the fabric of American society. However, very few have voiced opinions about how their current situation could have been a result of their prior actions, and many people are still pointing fingers rather than directing their passion towards finding a constructive solution to their problems. Similarly, in Shakespeare s play Hamlet, the protagonist experiences a process of condemnation following his father s death. Between his first and second soliloquy, Hamlet s method of coping with grief transitions from projecting his animosity outwards at those around him to then directing it inwards with intense self loathing, ... • 6. Descriptive Essay On The Getty Museum Driving down the 405 freeway will now be a different experience for myself. Prior to the weekend of June 11, 2017, The Getty Museum was always a mystery. There are a several things I really enjoyed about the museum. It was surprising to learn the Getty Center is free for everyone that attends. When arriving we of course had to pay for parking, which was fifteen dollars for an all day parking pass. With the parking pass, the museum allows you to leave and return once within the same day. This is ideal for those who rather get food off the museum s property. When arriving at the museum we rode on a six minute tram ride. The tram ride was included in the price of parking. Walking up to the museum s entrance was an experience of its own. The architecture was entertaining. There were several areas that grabbed the viewers attention. After speaking to a museum employee, I was able to notice different areas with in the museum. The architect used large pooped out stones to grab the viewers attention. These pooped out stones provide a path to view points with in the museum. For example; one pooped out stone showed a view of the Central Garden, another lead us to a view of Los Angeles. The views were beautiful from the guided points. The museum was broke up into different pavilions. Each pavilion had a different theme, it was very easy to locate each pavilion and artwork within the building. One pavilion had a Changing Exhibition. While visiting the theme of the West Pavilion was The Lure of Italy: Artist Views. I soon realized all areas of the museum change to help protect the art on display. Areas of the Getty Museum included several painting galleries, sculpture, decorative art galleries, architecture, gardens and of course the changing exhibits. While walking through the buildings it was fascinating to see all the different styles of art on display. Artists all have their own techniques when creating their expression of what they see. Many paintings dated back to the 1700 s and seemed to have very little cracks or signs of age within the paintings. While experiencing the painting galleries, I was hopeful to find a painting by both Vincent van Gogh and Claude Monet. To my surprise the museum had one piece by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Principles Of The International Olympic Committee Within every business or organization, there must be a set of values and goals that are established to prove consistency throughout their existence. These values and principles are there for them to follow and to lay groundwork as to how they should handle everything that encompasses their organization. In the same way, the International Olympic Committee was set to provide a charter to highlight their mission and their principles. While it has become clear that Olympism aims to promote a joy of effort, the educational value of good example, social responsibility and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles (IOC, 2015, p.13), it has also become evident that they must partner with sponsors to avoid debt like in the example of ... This in return turns out to be misleading to the investors, but since General Electric is also sponsoring the Olympics this could cause one to question the true stance on their sponsorship. By General Electric deviating from SEC rules, it s as if the International Olympic Committee were not to follow the charter and to be going against their values of following good governance within their organization. Considering the above contradiction, a solution would be to get more involved in the governance of General Electrics. A way to do this would be to have the International Olympic Committees financial auditors evaluate and monitor General Electric s financial auditors and double check their work. This would ensure that any wrong doing on General Electric s behalf be taken care of immediately and with advice from the International Olympic Committee on making the right decision that will go along with their values. Through this solution, the Olympics don t risk losing a highly ranked company as a sponsor, but can also aid in reducing irrevocable mistakes. Furthermore, two other sponsors, Samsung and Panasonic have undergone scandals that contradict the Olympics values. In November of 2016, Samsung and Panasonic were under investigation for abusing labor rights. One of the most important symbols in Lord of the Flies is the conch shell. It represents law, order and power. The shell was the only way to gather everybody from their scattered places on the island. When the conch was blown the boys knew that the chief had something important to say. Once everyone was gathered at the meeting, the holder of the shell was the only person allowed to speak. In the novel, Golding compared the conch shell to its opposite; the pig s head. The head contradicted the shell because it characterized chaos and terror. The shell also emphasized that power is fake. A flag is no more meaningful than the conch that Ralph had. It s the meaning behind it and the meaning that people give it that makes it important. Rules are only powerful if everyone agrees on them. Ralph realized this once Jack left and took most of the group with him. If he blew the conch and no one came, the shell would lose all of its power. If I blow the conch and they don t come back; then we ve had it. We shan t keep the fire going. We ll be like animals. We ll never be rescued. The practice deprives children of their childhood, and is harmful to their physical and mental development. Poverty, lack of good schools and growth of informal economy are considered as the important causes of child labour in India. The 2001 national census of India estimated the total number of child labour, aged 5 14, to be at 12.6 million. In 2001, out of a 12.6 million, about 12 million children in India were in a hazardous job. UNICEF estimates that India with its larger population has the highest number of labourers in the world less than 14 years of age, while sub Saharan African countries have the highest percentage of children who are deployed as child labour. International Labour Organisation estimates that agriculture at 60 percent is the largest employer of child labour in India, while United Nation s Food and Agriculture Organisation estimates 70% of child labour is deployed in agriculture and related activities. Outside of agriculture, child labour is observed in almost all informal sectors of the Indian economy. Companies including Gap, Primark, Monsanto and others have been criticised for child labour in their products. • 14. Systolic Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction (... Systolic heart failure: is also known as Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Systolic HF is defined as an ejection fraction of 40% and an inability of the heart to generate cardiac output adequate enough to perfuse vital tissues. Hemodynamic Changes: Contractility is influential in cardiac output and can be compromised due to myocardial infarction, ischemia, cardiomyopathy, and increased cardiac workload, to name a few. Inflammatory, immune, and neurohumoral changes can mediate ventricular remodeling, which will alter myocardial cellular structure resulting in myocardial dilation and further dysfunction of myocyte contractility over time. The decreased contractility will result decreased stroke volume and increased left ventricular end diastolic volume, which results in dilation of the heart and increased preload. Increased afterload can be caused by increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR). This can result from hypertension or aortic valvular disease. The PVR results in resistance to ventricular emptying, increasing the work load of the LV, thus causing hypertrophy of the myocardium. Sustained elevated afterload results in pathologic hypertrophy, caused by angiotensin II and catecholamines. The increase in cardiac muscle mass causes an increase in the heart s oxygen and energy demands. Thus, more energy from ATP is needed and when demand is greater than supply, cardiac contractility suffers. Ventricular remodeling continues, further ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I couldn t ask for anyone better than you and I cannot thank you enough for all the things you have done for me over the last two years. One think that I have noticed though is that you love your smokeless tobacco. Don t get me wrong, where I come from almost everyone uses tobacco in some type of way, especially in the military, but you mean a lot to me Hank and I want you to be aware of the risk you re really taking when you use the snus and chewing tobacco. Let s just start with one of the main reasons on why using smokeless tobacco is bad for you, it contains multitude of chemicals, some of which cause cancer. Of some of the 4,000+ chemicals found in a can of chewing tobacco (The Effects Of Physical Withdrawal, 2013), some of these include; formaldehyde, arsenic, polonium 210 (nuclear waste), cadmium (car battery additive), acetone (paint stripper), ammonia, and Nitrosamines. According to the American Cancer Society, that least thirty (30) of these chemicals found in smokeless tobacco are cancer causing agents. I know you find that putting a nice wad of chewing tobacco, or maybe one of the new pouches in helps you relieve a good amount of stress in that instance, but there are many different facts to that matter Hank. First off, nicotine is highly addictive (Health First) and being so addictive to something like nicotine will usually cause a dependency on the substance. Also, the problem doesn t just lie within the addiction to the nicotine and other chemicals within the tobacco, but also with developing the habit of using the smokeless tobacco. The experiences of her mother, Toor Pekai, greatly impact Malala s life. Toor Pekai regrets that she never received a full education because she now feels locked into a societal stereotype. Her family encouraged her to go to school, but she thought that because she was a woman she would end up cleaning and cooking and never have a job, so she quit school. Our purpose is to see which of the major brands of syrup is most soluble and for what reason. This is important to our daily lives because it makes us aware of what types of materials we are ingesting and this applies to our experiment by seeing which of the ingredients take longer to dissolve. Information known is all brands are known to dissolve in milk but they all use different ingredients and they will cause a difference in the time it takes to dissolve. New information that will be gained from this experiment is which ingredients inside chocolate syrup will take the longest to dissolve, from the type of sugars in it to the syrups. We expected the Nesquik to dissolve the fastest because it did not contain any high fructose corn syrup while the other brand of syrup did. Also we observed from the syrups that nesquik was very thin, while the others were very thick and slow in behaviour. Our hypothesis is that the Nesquik will disintegrate the fastest in the milk because it lacks High Fructose Corn Syrup. Materials Procedures: Materials: 1. Hershey s Chocolate Syrup 2. Maddox signals Data on it and has a disagreement that the technology perhaps is used to establish a force of androids that would support their search farther. Everybody who sees this episode realizes that Data appears and operates like a natural and ordinary human. A dualism aspect is presented when Captain Picard mentions that he thinks that Data has the option to say no to being disassembled. According to Hasker (1983), Dualism begins by taking quite seriously that human beings have both physical properties and mental properties (Husker, 1983). He continues by observing that this is opposed to other assumptions like that of idealism and behaviorism which weaken the two together into one. (Hasker, 1983). This may be due to the fact that the mp3 has had a huge impact upon both the music industry and societies listeners. Weinstock stated that, the world of the mp3 is a fast growing music technology available to anyone with Internet access. Fan are promoting the mp3 as the most personalized music form ever created that will propel music into the next millennium (9). The invention of the mp3 is notable for producing and changing the music industry s role through the changed in the copyright and ownership issues. In what follows, I will argue how the face of online music is changing mp3 players. Firstly, through examining the numerous ways people can download and transfer music onto their mp3 handheld player. Through drawing upon the concepts of YouTube; a website for posting video clips, iTunes; a digital media player application, Spotfiy; a music streaming service and mp3.com ; a company to emerge around the idea of free music. The Just In Time system was initially developed to not only cut down the amount of waste produced by other systems, which was seen as incurring unnecessary costs rather than adding value to the company, but to also meet customer demands with minimum delays. In its simplest terms, the Kanban system is used to alert the production team exactly what needs to be produced, the quantity required and the designated time frame (Horngren, George Srikant 1997). 5. Expected Results The Batch Processing System currently used at AG Z is a system where products are produced in bulk quantities or batches whether required by the customer or not. These goods are then stored in warehouses until required. This process produces large amounts of waste in both inventory and warehousing as the goods are not sold immediately, and could be required to be held for any length of time. The Just in Time system however is a process that produces necessary products as required. This system is highly beneficial as it reduces the amount of inventory waste, as the goods are made to order. It also reduces warehousing costs as the goods are made and shipped directly to the customer rather than being held for extended periods at the warehouse. As a result of these benefits, the JIT system has been particularly effective for companies with a high customer demand on newly developed technologies such as computers. If the product is produced when required and as specified by the customer, this not only allows the customer to order exactly what they want with modern technology, but it also benefits the manufacturer who is guaranteed a return on the goods straight ... Champion Of The World By Maya Angelou Analysis Both Maya Angelou of Champion of the World , and Amy Tan of Fish Cheeks write anecdotal short stories which express their isolation from the dominant Anglo culture while delving into deeper detail as to why they feel such a great sense of alienation. Although both stories take place within different settings and time periods, a primary commonality they share comes from within the detachment they feel as minorities within a larger, more dominant community. Each author expertly employs literary devices such as description and narrative style within their writing to express the primary underlying message of their anecdotal stories; however, placing emphasis on the descriptive aspects of a story and setting more often seems to give the audience greater clarity and insight into the situation and setting. In Tan s story, objects of familiarity and a myriad of overwhelming are described in intense detail. Therefore, Tan s heavy emphasis of description throughout her story resonates more strongly with the reader. By thoroughly analyzing the text, we can observe how and why the literary element which the authors place more focus on is an important aspect toward expressing the theme of cultural isolation, as well as to how Tan s usage of description give the audience more insight as a result.
