Miles Davis Research Paper
Biography of Miles Davis Miles Davis was born in Alton, Illinois on May 26, 1926. He was the
son of a dental surgeon and a music teacher in a middle class household. Davis developed his
earliest appreciation for music listening to the gospel music of the black church. His father
introduced him to playing the trumpet at the age of 13. Miles Davishad talent playing the trumpet
and was soon sent to music school directed by Elwood Buchanan. He quickly developed his own
style inspired by major trumpeters like Louis Armstrong. Davis continually played trumpet through
high school and later he was invited by Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker to join them onstage to
replace a sick band member. After high school, he went to Julliard School. He began... Show more

Between 1951 and 1954, he released many records on Prestige, with several different combos.
While the people of the recordings varied, the lineup often featured Sonny Rollins and Art Blakey.
Davis was particularly in love of Rollins and tried several times, in the years that preceded his
meeting with John Coltrane, to recruit him for a regular group. He never succeeded because Rollins
was prone to make himself unavailable for months at a time. In spite of the casual occasions that
generated these recordings, their quality is almost always quite high, and they document the
evolution of Davis style and sound. During this time he began using the Harmon mute, held close to
the microphone, in a way that became his signature, and his phrasing, especially in ballads, became
spacious, harmonious, and relaxed. This sound became so characteristic that the use of the Harmon
mute by any jazz trumpet player since immediately raises up Miles

Consequences Of Climate Change In Yosemite National Park
Climate change is a growing presence that continues to become noticeable. The predicted outcomes
of climate change include rise in temperatures, longer growing seasons, change in precipitation
patterns, more droughts and heat waves, and rise in sea level (NASA, 2016). With the variety of
effects on the environment, climate change will start to affect National ParkSystems, their
ecosystems, and their plans and actions. The national park system is dealing with a range of
ecosystems within each park. Wrangell St. Elias National Park and Preserve is the largest national

Gender In Bayoneta
Though there were initial controversy concerning the game s content rumors of a rape scene
certainly stirred the pot the portrayal of Lara s character as a determined, skilled adventurer in
training resonated well with consumers (Meltzer, 2013). Tomb Raider (2013) sold 8.5 million
copies, becoming the most successful game in the entire franchise. Although a single game may
not make up for the years of objectified portrayals, the 2013 reboot allowed Lara Croftto become
the empowering icon that many fans of the series, men and women, once struggled to see her as:
Gamers came to recognise her as fearless, even arrogant, thrill seeking and callous, bold and brave:
in short, a badass (Meltzer, 2013). In contrast to Lara s predicament, the titular character of the
series Bayonetta relies on her sexuality as part of her character and embraces it without falling
victim to objectification. This series does not pretend that femininity... Show more content on

Although each game allows the player to choose the Commander s gender at the beginning of
the game, there are few differences between the male and female versions of Shepard throughout
the series. Both the male and female iterations of Shepard follow the same story (Payne, 2013).
Much like choosing gender, RPG games often allow players to decide how the characters should
behave. The decisions lead to different events occurring in the game. In Mass Effect, Shepard can
be a lawful sheriff or lawless warden. Her story epitomizes the space western of venturing into

Greek Theatre Research Paper
Theater has been around since the time of the Ancient Greek. It has been a form of social
expression and ideas for years. Theater is sometimes a dramatization of events or ideas to help
better connect the viewers with the situation at hand. I think dramas have become so important to
society due to the fact that is can be molded into many different types forms of expression. A drama
can take you into a fictional land where anything is possible. It brings people thoughts out from
just imagination to a visual performance. The need to see stories acted out is something that bring
imagination to life. No longer is it purely thought. You can see and share the idea with a large

It is a way of showing and sharing what is social acceptable in the culture. Theater is something
that is very visual and can be used to teach and pass down the skills of a certain society such as,
hunting, farming, family values, etc. Theater entertaining for both the actor and the viewers. It can
even pass on knowledge of current events such as politics. The general public is more likely to to
attend a performance about politics where there is music, masks, and other fun entities. No only is
the public viewing a play, they are learning about the different political events as well. There are
many dramas that depict different events. As societies change so does the dramas that come from
them. Native people have a rich history in their dramas. They depict hunts, spiritual rituals, and
worshipping. Asian dramas on the other hand are more related to family and country values. They
uses props, costumes, and songs in most of their dramas. Although Asian dramas may seem more
elaborate than most, they have very symbolic meaning in all the props and costumes. Even with
these differences, dramas are most widely know form a social expression throughout

Detrimental Effects of the Vietnam War
The Vietnam War was, and continues to be, one of America s darkest moments, one that nearly tore
the nation apart. In order to stop the spread of communism in Europe and Asia, the United States
aided French imperialists and their reoccupation of Vietnam. At first, the U.S took a position of
neutrality to both countries, but by early 1947, they began fighting in support of France. This war,
lasting over 20 years, became the longest and most unpopular war in the 20th century. Overall, the
Vietnam War was detrimental to the United Statesbecause it caused a massive debt from the 1960s
to the 1990s, turned the American people against their government, and many troops were
neglected and despised upon their return.

They speculated that if one land in a region came under the influence of Communism, the
surrounding countries would follow in a domino like effect . (Small) So basically, once one country
turns to Communism, all the surrounding countries will follow until it has taken over completely.
This theory was used by U.S administrators during the Cold War to clarify and justify the need for
American intervention around the world. The idea had been in existence for quite some time,
but it was only clear what it really was when President Dwight D. Eisenhower put it into words in
1954, when referring to communism. In order for Vietnam to be free of a Communist
government, the United States decided to ally with France so the Vietminh could not gain more
power. Since the Americans were fresh out of fighting the Korean and Chinese Civil War, they
believed Communism could be spreading everywhere. Beginning in 1950, the United States
initially pledged $15 million dollars in aid of the French. This was the start of an American debt
that would damage the U.S economy for almost 30 years. The President of this time, Lyndon B.
Johnson, played down the United States role in Vietnam for two reasons. He believed that if
Americans felt that this war had to be fought in order to protect their country from Communism,
the public would demand a full scale, no holds barred war that could have led to Chinese and

Smoothie Monologue
Smoothie Bae
Little over a year and a half ago, I began my employment at the local Freeburg Dairy Queen.
Newly turned sixteen and fresh on the training block, I was focused on learning the ropes and
not so much the customers. That was when one guy, I would soon learn to be a regular,
sauntered in through the door. Of course being a girl, any hot guy that comes through the door
is bound to catch one s eye, but he had completely captured my heart. Only sixteen and yet to hit
puberty, I always knew there would never be a chance of an us, except that is until a single note
changed the game. I watched him come and go every single shift I worked for months and never
once did he cease to lose my attention. I was infatuated with him, to say the least. I ll forever
remember his order, $8.51 for two large triple berry smoothies, blended twice to ensure a silky
smooth texture. That s when I pegged him with the nickname of Smoothie Bae as his smoothie
obsession became quite clear to see with each passing visit. Before I had even begun my
training for register I would make it a habit to always make his smoothies for him. Then
eventually when I was able to work a register I made a new habit to not only make his order but to

House Of Tudor Research Paper
Imagine you were royalty. You got to eat fancy dinners, were pampered, and was waited on hand
and foot. This is how it was for the House of Tudor in 16th Century England. The people included
in this royal family are Henry VIII, Edward I, Lady Jane Grey, Mary I, and Elizabeth I. The
House of Tudor, the ruling family of 16th Century England, was an influential ruling family
whether it was positive or negative, most of the time it was negative though. Tudor history is
complicated with many interwoven stories. Owen Tudor is the first of the known Tudors. He
was a welsh adventurer; he fought in a war where Henry V was beheaded. Owen married Henry V
s widow, Catherine of Valois. They had a kid named Edmund who married a girl named Margaret.

The first ruler after Henry VIII died was his son, Edward VII. He was a child when he was
crowned at Westminster. Henry VIII tried not to crown Edward as a child, but he failed.
Edward was very close with his stepmother, Katherine Parr, Elizabeth, his sister, and Mary, his
other sister. Edward made many protestant laws during his rule. When Edward died he didn t
want Mary I to rule so he made his cousin, Lady Jane Grey, ruler. Lady Jane Grey was the second
ruler of England. Lady Jane Grey was made queen but only ruled for nine days. She is also
known as the nine day queen. Jane married Guildford Dudley as a child. The Dudleys knew
about what the king chose to do and they only had Guilford marry her so they could be royalty.
After Jane was made queen, she realized their plan and told Guildford she would never make
him king, but only a duke. He ran out and Jane realized she had to make him king because she
had to have an heir. Mary overthrew Jane and became queen. Mary was the third ruler of kids.
Mary became ruler at age 37. She was neglected as a child because not many of Henry s wives
liked her. She was Catholic rather than protest and because her mom would be the queen if
Henry hadn t divorced her mom. Mary also wanted to have a child so she married the prince of
Spain. He wouldn t marry Mary until she killed every protestant in England; this is how she got
the name, Bloody Mary. She also wanted to have a child and

Essay about Behind the Scenes of Politics
Since the rise of the New Deal American political consultants have become a sought after
commodity. After the 1930 s the United States moved to broader theoretical models of political
change, thus leaving candidates the need to widely promote their ideologies to obtain votes.1 The
growth of the media during this time changed the handling of campaigns and as a result left
political candidates to aggressively pursue political consultants to advocate their elections in the
interest of the aspirant s party. Political consultants, while preferring to work behind the scenes of
politics, plan and coordinate campaign strategies, arrange meetings, and publicize candidates and
their party s cause.2 Political consultants are advertising executives... Show more content on

B TREES
B tree is a tree data structure that keeps data sorted and allows searches, insertions, and deletions

Reflection Of A Look At The Medical Concertion Of The...
I attended a Board ordered deposition of your consultant, Dr. Dominic Belmonte, in the above

reporter was Linda Engel.

The average weekly wage has been set at $2,034.82. At this time we are litigating the issues of
degree of disability, maximum medical improvement and permanency.
This deposition was scheduled for the testimony of your consultant, Dr. Belmonte. Dr. Belmonte

He testified he felt the claimant was at maximum medical improvement and had a rating of 3 B
under the Board Permanency Guidelines. I asked him to explain how he reached his opinion and he
indicated that since this case involved both the neck and the left shoulder it was not amendable to a
schedule loss of use. He then turned to Table 11.2 for soft tissue spine injuries. He stated the
claimant had complaints with supporting imaging studies and therefore, under the Table 11.1 the
appropriate rating would be 3 B.
I note that Ms. Seger objected to the testimony on the issue of permanency, maintaining this issue
was not before the Board. We in fact had raised the issue at the last hearing when we submitted Dr.
Belmonte s report. I therefore had him testify to his opinion as to maximum medical improvement
and as to permanency. Ms. Seger asked no questions on cross examination on these issues.
Cross examination was extensive but the doctor did not change his opinion in any way. He
reiterated his restrictions, which he felt were fifteen (15) to twenty (20) pounds below chest level
and lifting, pushing or pulling above the chest level with the left arm.
I was pleased with the doctors testimony. I feel he testified strongly and consistently with his
written reports and his testimony was not altered or impeached in any meaningful way on cross
examination. We will obviously consult the minutes of the doctors testimony as the testimony was

Katherina The Shrew
How does Shakespeare utilise Katherina as a comic tool
Eliza
The Taming of the Shrew is famous for its fast paced and witty dialogue, and possesses one of
Shakespeare s greatest female characters, Katherina the Shrew. The plot, derived from the popular
war of the sexes theme in which a male and female are pitted against each other for dominance in
marriage, has the uneasy feel that comedy is made of the pushing of boundaries. It uses the
controversies that laughter induced as a radical anti authoritarian form. Katherina, in the plot, is
reputed through Padua as a foul tempered and sharp tongued shrew, who constantly insults and
degrades men around her, resulting in her never finding a suitor, which seemingly puts the
conventions of comedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is difficult to believe a character as strong willed and vibrant as Katherina is changed so
easily. Employing the humorous device of false realities that Shakespeare set in place so early
in the play, it would seem more logical that Katherine would simply be acting the part of the
obedient wife in order to be accepted in the society in which she lives. Katherine can play a part
very well and can even enjoy doing it. For example, on the road to Padua from Petruchio s house
when Kate is forced to address Vincentio as a woman and says Young budding virgin, fair and
fresh and sweet (Act 4, Scene1). The most significant evidence to support this theory comes
from the scene where Kate finally breaks and agrees to play along with Petruchio s game of
make believe. The final speech, then, can be seen as an extension of Kate s newfound ability to
role play , or act. This theory is particularly appealing because the entire play is very much
interested in the theatricality of everyday life and the performance aspects of gender roles. This
creates a comic parallel with the induction, when Bartholomew tacitly plays the part of an obedient
noblemans wife under the direction of the lord. After analysis, one may think the play is actually,
in fact, a comedy about an assertive woman coping with how she is expected to behave in the
society of the late 16th century and how one must obey the unwritten rules of society. Consequently
the play ends with her outwardly conforming to the norms of society, Thy husband is they lord, thy
life, they keeper, thy head, they sovereign...(women) when they are bound to serve, love and obey .
However this is in action only, not in mind. Although she assumes the role of the obedient wife,
inwardly she still retains her

Difference Between Indian And British Culture
When considering the list of acceptable movie choices narrowing it down to one was difficult; I

actually comprehending, or listening to, what the words are expressing. During a confrontation,
shortly after discovering Jess playing football with a group of boys in the park, Mrs. Bhamra
rants about the improperness of not only this instance, but any form of playing. Since she is now
older and has played long enough, her mother does not want Jesminder running around half naked
in front of men. After all, Mrs. Bhamra wonders, what family will want a daughter in law who can
run around kicking football all day yet cannot cook a proper Punjabi meal? Not listening when Jess

and the shame it creates for the family when Jess is not behaving like a proper woman. These
superior attitudes and behaviors do not sustain nor improve the mother daughter relationship,
instead, creating conflict and tension between them throughout most the movie.
Further considering the seven characteristics of competent communicators, another feature
significantly deficient regarding Mrs. Bhamra s communication competence are an absence of
empathy and perspective taking. Refusing to listen to what Jess is saying, makes it impossible for

Brazil is one of South America s most influential and powerful Countries, and leading its cause to
become one of the world s most influential counties. Brazil is one of the BRICS countries. BRICS
refers to Brazil Russia India China and South Africa becoming economic figures due to their newly
advanced economic development. Much of brazil s increase in wealth comes down to the vast
amount of natural resources in the country such as Iron ore a resource craved by many large
manufacturing nations, furthering this Brazil has recently been able to capitalise on their offshore
oil resources allow them to become self sufficient for energy an area where they previously
struggled and relied heavily on other nations.

Originally intended to combat the 2008 recession, however since the large boom of brazil s
economy, public spending has continued to grow, with public spending at high levels and inflation
currently at 6% a full 1.5% above the target level of 4.5%, the fiscal policy has the potential to
create major issues for Brazils long term growth and sustainability. With the need to cut around
2.5% of Government spending in order to continue to have a surplus whilst re paying loans and
interest on its loans Brazil could see its decrease in unequal wealth distribution reversed and
actually cause further polarisation by being unable to fund the least wealthiest. Brazil s need to
reduce its spending comes at a difficult with more expenses than usual to deal with, such as the
world cup in 2014 and The Olympics in 2016, meaning public money needs to be invested
increasing infrastructure such as sport venues, roads and airports. This could cause problems to
Brazil s continued development and success, however if done to success Brazil could benefit from
these great sporting events with possible increased trade, exposure and tourism.
On the whole Brazil is a country continuing to grow and achieve both economically and socially
this can be seen in a variety of ways from its inclusion in the BRICS to its higher levels of GDP in
recent years.

Styles Of Drivers
While on the road, have you ever noticed the different styles of the drivers around you? When
experiencing being stuck in traffic, you are most likely to observe the driving styles of others.
There are a variety of drivers on the road and some of them can be classified as the slow poke ,
rager , and the multitasker . For instance, there will be a person that will let you proceed in front of
them during traffic, while someone else will purposely speed up and cut you off. However, a person

obey every rule of the road, they use blinkers and do full stops unlike those who are in a hurry or
feel as if they are not entitled to those rules. However, as they do seem nice if you get stuck

Surgical Treatment Of Surgical Site Infection
Surgical site infections are estimated to occur in 3% of surgical patients and cost the healthcare
system billions of dollars every year. Surgical site infection contributes to an increased risk of
morbidity and mortality in patients undergoing a surgical procedure. This paper will present
preventative evidence based practice undertaken by healthcare personnel to prevent the occurrence
of surgical site infection. These practices include but are not limited to the appropriate
administration of prophylactic antimicrobial agents and the benefits to patients, the preoperative
hair removal methods by shaving versus clipping and in many cases whether hair removal is
necessary or is carried out as a ritual.
Surgical site infections (SSIs) within a 30 day period of an operative procedure can contribute to an
increased risk of morbidity and mortality every year. To prevent the occurrence of an SSI,
healthcare professionals must include a scrupulous operative technique, administration of
appropriate antimicrobial prophylaxis and minimize the introduction of contamination by hospital
personnel and operating room environment. The student wishes to emphasize specifically the
importance of skin preparation to prevent surgical site infection.
Patient safety is of the utmost importance to all health care professionals and nurses are at the
frontline as the patients advocate especially when they undergo surgery; be it minor or major It is

Career as a Veterinary Technician Essay
Veterinary technicians are like the techies of the theatre; the organization would be able to function
without them, but it would be much harder. Things run a lot more smoothly with vet techs. There
are multiple benefits that come with being a veterinary technician. These benefits include, but are

Tiziano Titian Research Paper
Titian (Tiziano Vecellio) was born in Pieve di Cadore, a small town at the foot of the Dolomites
on the Venetian side of the Alps. The Vecellio s had been based in Cadore since the 14th century.
Titian s father, Gregorio, was a military man. His older brother Francesco was also a painter.
There is still no documentary evidence of Titian s exact date of birth, but contemporary sources
and his early stylistic development suggest that he was born around 1490. Titian was a painter
who painted famous paintings of religious beliefs such as Sacred and Profane Love and Venus of
Urbino which were lost in fire but are safe on the internet. Titian trained under two other seminal

Increasing The Proportion Of Women
Increasing the proportion of women in senior positions

After years of discussions about gender equity and women s rights the problem of the absence of
women in senior positions still remains a topic of debate. As Bella Abzug, an American
Politician, has already said the job performance of employees should not be defined by
chromosomes. Nevertheless, according to the Australian Census of women in leadership 2012,

which they could make use of. Therefore, it is crucial to overcome the obstacles that exclude
talented women from upper positions.
The purpose of this essay is to identify the reasons why the gender gap and the glass ceiling are still
an issue in Australian institutions. Furthermore, it will present possible HR policies to advance
more women into leadership and to increase the proportion of women in senior positions. The under
representation of women is also a matter in Australia s higher education sector. Therefore, the
analysis concentrates on Australian Universities where only 30% of the Vice Chancellors and 26%

The Italian Mafia In The 1920 s
The promise of work and land inspired the immigration of the early 1900 s. The increased
immigration of Europeans greatly shaped the American public. Newcomers settled together,
creating distinct racial neighborhoods across the nation. Many of these culturally defined
neighborhoods can be seen in New York. Millions of Italian immigrants came to America during
this surge of migration, many settling in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, appropriately
known as Little Italy (Bryan Web). The immigrants were not well received. They were viewed
as scum filling the ghettos, affecting the job market, and threatening the American way of life.
Their poor reputations were also fueled by the crime that had traveled with them. Aside from the
rich culture and tradition, that had developed within the streets of Manhattan s Little Italy, the
Italian American Mafia was formed. The Sicilian Mafiosi escaped to the US after being attacked
by the fascist regime, bringing with them mob culture (History Wed). The Italian Mafia is a
secret society affiliated with organized crime and family ties. In the 1920 s The American Mafia,

Scapegoats In Romeo And Juliet
The search for the scapegoat is the easiest of all hunting expeditions. These words spoken by
Dwight D. Eisenhower apply to The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. In this situation, a young man
and woman commit suicide in the name of love, since the stars will not allow them to be
together. Multiple scapegoats lie in this story of the tragic deaths: the fault of the families for not
allowing the two to marry, the fault of Friar Lawrence for marrying Romeo and Juliet and giving
them the materials to kill themselves, or the stupidity of youth. Fate brought Romeo and Juliet
together, even when the stars tried to keep them apart. The belief of the greater power that guides
the lives of men known as fate plays a large role in Romeo and Juliet.

Abstract Art, Character Design, And Pencil Tests
For my case study the three pieces of artwork that I ll be talking about revolve around animation,
as that is my field of study. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and
pencil tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known
as Spirited Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be
satire, but that isn t my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as
Hiiragi san*, and I spend every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a
movie they could enjoy. That is why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those
were the words of Miyazaki, translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s
purpose in general was to provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghiblifilms is
family, and especially children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone
can enjoy, as stated above. Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media
of watercolor, acrylic paint, and probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that
was used in the movie. Immediately you can see balance within this piece. While both sides are
not exactly symmetrical it gives off that implication by having both sides very similar if you were
to split the image down the middle, especially the train that almost appears that way on it s own. It
also has a nice sense of

Medical Malpractice Tort Reform
One approach to minimize large amounts of tort claims for medical malpractice is to put a cap on
non economical awards. Tort reform is the response; a tort is a civil lawsuit for damages over
private wrongs other than breach of contract. According to Lau and Johnson (2014), a tort can be
categorized into three categories: intentional tort, when tortfeasor acted with intent, negligence, if
the tortfeasor did not act intentionally, but failed to act as a reasonable person, and lastly, strict
liability, if the tortfeasor is engaged in certain activities, which caused injury or death due to it. The

Further, Professor Baker at the University of Pennsylvania posited that we have the same
number of claims today as in the late 1980s. In addition, reforms actually make it more difficult
for victims to prove their cases. Furthermore, due to the cap on financial awards, most of the
time, it costs victims a large sum of money to pursue the case and end up spending more on
expense than the reward. Currently, according to Doroshow (2009), there are more liability
protection for the medical profession than any other profession in the nation. The reforms
actually offer Healthcare giants more protection by limiting tort actions and compensatory
damages. For example, a Milwaukee woman was awarded $25.3 million in tort damages after
losing all four limbs due to doctor negligence. Interestingly, Wisconsin law has a non economic
damage limit of $750,000, therefore the defense attorneys will likely ask for the award to be
lowered to that amount (Spivak, 2014). Two vastly different example; however, the latter clearly
demonstrated the reasonableness of the award thus, reform is necessary, but a greater examination
of special clauses may be in order to offset the

Violation Of Drug Testing
Some people may say that mandatory drug testing is a violation of the athletes Fourth Amendment

author of Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights believes that drug testing is a violation of the

Red Louts of Chastity The Prince
In the Red Lotus of chastity, two characters Devasmita and the nun are implementing the same
concept from the Machiavelli s The Prince . They followed the Machiavellian concept of being a
lion and a fox. Devasmita was Guhasena s wife and while her husband was far a way from her
they promised each other to keep red louts in their hand. Whoever commits adultery in the absence
of the other; the lotus will wither away and will be unfaithful. The nun was planning to undo the
chastity of Devasmita while Devasmita was trying hard to protect it. Both Devasmita and the nun
acted cleverly as a fox. However, Devasmita continued acting like super fox until she rescues her
husband from death, while the nun ended up acting like a lion.
The nun acted like a fox to undo the chastity of Devasmita. The nun chose to act like a fox to
deceive Devasmita and make her trust her. She wants to seduce her to bed with the merchant s sons.
The Machiavellian concept of being a fox and lion means to succeed in a battle you have to
know who are you dealing with like a fox and act aggressively like a lion to frighten them. Since,
then, it is necessary for a prince to understand how to make good used of conduct of the animals, he
should select among the fox and the lion, because the lion cannot protect himself from traps and the

A Summary Of A Mentor In Tangerine
Everyone has had someone help guide them throughout their life, even after they leave or pass.
This person can affect someone s life in a positive way. This person is known as a Mentor. As we
read the novel Tangerine, we learn that Paul has a Mentor that helps him throughout his journey. It
is clear to see that the role of the Mentor goes to Luis Cruzbecause he is a positive figure towards
Paul, he gives Paul advice, and acts as his conscience. One way that Luis Cruz is the Mentor is
how he acts as a positive figure towards Paul. For instance, he wants to make sure that Paul is
alright. When Paul goes to help fight the freeze at Tomas Cruz Groves, he got very weak and
couldn t go on. Luis sent him inside the quonset hut to lay down and sent Theresa in to get him
settled. A few moments later, Luis came in to make sure Paul was okay. Luis said, Paul are you

he cares about people, even if they had just met. The quote also portrays the positivity of Luis s
character. Therefore, one way that he is positive is how much he cares about people and wants to
make sure they are ok. Additionally positive, Luis speaks the truth. For example, after Erik hit Tino
in the head, Luis went to confront Erik. While he was there, Arthur Bauer hit him on the side of his

doll is actually alive and ends up killing the father in the end. This is a common middle class
situation in the 1950 s, except for the living doll, and it s because everyone was trying to be
normal and act like they belong in the same class with everyone else. Packard s The Status
Seekers describes social conformity and how class and status are becoming more rigid, unlike
most people who think the nation is becoming one class. Packard writes, In terms of his
productive role in our society class lines in America are becoming more rigid, rather than
withering away (Packard 8). With status and class being so important to most American citizens
in the 1950 s, class became more rigid and act like barriers to citizens who want to move up in
status.
In the Living Doll episode of The Twilight Zone, the first thing you see is the classic
automobile car and their white suburban house. You can probably assume that the house and car
are almost exactly the same as the rest of the housing track. This is because there was such an
emphasis on social conformity and being normal during the 1950 s. A nice suburban home and
an automobile is what people bought in the 1950 s to show your class and you were just like
everybody else. The more elegant the house, the higher the class you are in. During the 1950 s,
many families will move to a nicer house in a nicer area just to show that they have a higher
status than others. In chapter six

What Is The Shift In The Tortilla Curtain
In T.S. Boyle s novel, The Tortilla Curtain, the suburban upper middle class culture collides on
multiple occasions into that of poverty stricken illegal Mexican immigrants. These collisions of two
vastly different cultures begin when Delaney, a self proclaimed liberal humanist crashes his car
into CГЎndido, an illegal immigrant. These collisions of foiling cultures result in a negative shift
of virtues for Delaney. Boyle utilizes the negative shift in Delaney to comment on the upper middle
classindividuals who identify themselves with positive values who never practice those values
when their own comfort and wellbeing is at risk. Following the crash, Delaney s self proclaimed
liberal humanist values start to be questioned. After Delaney identifies... Show more content on

In the beginning of the novel, Delaney is shown as an activist against walls that are being planned
to be built around his community. Delaney states how as a liberal humanist, he is against the
building of the wall because it is wrong to separate themselves from society because they have
more money. Delaney s stance on the construction of the wall and his values shift after Delaney s
car crash into CГЎndido and the forest fire incident. After the car crash and the forest fire incident,
Delaney becomes an active advocate for the construction of the wall. Delaney argues that the
construction of the wall is necessary to ensure the safety of the people who live in his community.
Delaney s shift in stance on the construction of the wall was caused solely by the interactions he
had with CГЎndido and the two Mexican individuals; in both events, Delaney was never negatively
impacted. However, because of the inconvenience that these events caused Delaney, Delaney
wishes to build the wall to prevent future inconveniences from what he believes was caused by

Perseverance Is The Essence Of Boyhood
Perseverance is the essence of Boyhood. Through several different households, an array of
living situations, different levels of poverty, and a plethora of experiences; we see Mason
overcome coercion in school, at home, and in his own mind. Through what may seem as
unfavorable situations Mason emerges as an individual with a positive out look on the rest of
his life. What made him this way? Was it his moms support and the way she raised him and his
sister? Did seeing his mom start from basically nothing and picking herself up and making
something out of nothing help give Mason a spark of ambition? Maybe it was all the things his
father told him that stuck with him through all these years and gave him the motivation to
always keep his head up and not let bad moments make up a bad life. If none of this gave us the
outcome we got, then was it predisposition from the day Mason was born to be kind, gentle, shy,
and a mostly positive person? Mason, his mom, and his sister did not let being poor define them.
His mom did not succumb to the negativity of several bad relationships, troublesome times, and
abuse from all angles. She could have let all these things define her but she kept her head up and
overcome these obstacles. What made her be this way? What gives people this drive to be
better? We could look at the opposite end of things and ask what makes people not want to be better.

Managing Flexible Workforce
Managing Flexible Workforce Strategic HRM Considerations
Felipe Caamano
Keller School of Management
Introduction
Staffing is the process of acquiring, deploying, and retaining a workforce of sufficient quantity and
quality to create positive impacts on the organization s effectiveness and thus is a critical
organizational function concerned with the acquisition, deployment, and retention of the
organization s workforce.
The complexity of work and projects being done in organizations today are becoming overly
complex both in terms of scope and reach. This spans over multiple geographies, time zones,
cultures and teams. The work force today has now become diversified with employees coming from
countries such as Argentina, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, shortages of labor, both quantity and quality, threaten growth and even survival and the
ability of individual managers to effectively run their work units.
Smith (Simth et al., 2011) avers that employers today need to be able to fit to the employees
mould rather than the employee fitting into the employer s mould. This is driven by the belief that
employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all
approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and
growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that
change over to their human resource management practices.
Eleveld (Eleveld, 2011) brings to the attention that highly skilled and experienced professionals
who will be too expensive to hire, can be brought on board as flexible employees or contractors.
These flexible employees will have different motivations of working with organizations and will
have different priorities and hence need to be managed differently from the full time employees. It
will be to the organization s disadvantage if these choose to ignore the value these employees can
bring onto the table. The rising costs and business uncertainty is also forcing companies to scale
back their permanent hiring plans and look at flexible employees and contingent workers to
perform those responsibilities. Partridge (Partridge, 2010) mentions

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Membrane Contactors
Abstract
Since the advent of membrane contactors as means of separation alternative to conventional
techniques of separation, such as distillation towers, packed bed towers, research has been done on
membranes so as to industrialize the whole process for large plants. The membrane contactors
provide significant advantage over the more traditional separation tools and hence, are being
increasingly used. The researchers have, though, realized a major disadvantage associated with
membrane contactors. The membrane used for liquid gas or liquid liquid contact undergoes a
phenomenon, referred to as wetting, which primarily involves the liquid entering the pores of the
membrane in the gas liquid separation (or either of the two liquids in the case ... Show more content

The traditional mass transfer equipment has been known to have several disadvantages such as
flooding, weeping, entrainment, channeling, etc. Further, the above mentioned operational
problems were in addition to the technical scale up problems that were faced while the installation
of such equipment. The preparation prior to industrial set up generally required designing,
appropriate small scale testing, pilot plant testing and finally industrial scale test, before the
system went into operation. Such elaborate preparations required large amount of capital as well
as physical space as the separation equipment, is most generally extremely large and occupies
huge area. The introduction of membrane separators was a major breakthrough as the membrane
separation techniques do away with all such problems. The membrane separators generally have a
very high selectivity for a particular component (which is aimed to be separated) in the absorption
process, as well as they are compact and modular, which essentially means that the scale up is not
an issue with the membrane separators. Their other advantages include very high surface to volume
ratio, which can also be calculated (whereas in columns, such as distillation or packed column,
contact surface area is unknown and cannot be estimated), and are flexible in operation as they
separate gas liquid flows which can be independently controlled as well as

Summary Of The Bobo Doll Experiment
In the Bobo Doll Experiment conducted by Stanford University s Dr. Albert Bandura the
researchers were interested in a few things. The researchers were interested in seeing whether or
not, if social behaviors such as aggression can be influenced and acquired by imitation and as
well observation. In this study the participants were composed of 36 boys and 36 girls from the
nursery on campus, all ranging in the ages from 3 to 6. In this study a tall inflatable plastic toy
that were painted as clown, also known as a bobo doll was used. The bobo doll was buoyant and
had weight at the bottom which allowed it to stand back up after being knocked down. Moving on
the participants were all split into three groups: in which one group observed aggressive

The Arab Spring
The Arab Spring is a new term tossed in December 2010, and it covers all kinds of riots,
demonstrations and civil wars recently going on in the Arab world. The Arab Spring has
established; the power social media can have when applied in social and political scenario. In just
a short period of three years, there were changed regimes in four Arab countries (Tunisia, Egypt,
Libya and Yemen). There were protests and demonstrations in other Arab countries like Bahrain,
Syria, Algeria, Iraq, Jordon, Kuwait, Morocco and Sudan. Small scale protests were also held in
countries like Mauritania Oman, Saudi Arabia, Djibouti, Western Sahara, and the Palestinian
territories. Sectarian clashes in Lebanon were described as a spillover of violence from the Syrian
uprising and hence the regional Arab Spring. Despite the efforts by governments across the Arab
countries, to not to allow the protests and demonstration held, effective use of social media has
helped to organize protests, communicate with masses and raise awareness among the people. A
major slogan of the demonstrators in the Arab worldhas been to bring down the regimes. In this
paper an effort has been made to identify the help provided by social media in Arab spring, reasons
for Arab nations going to social media instead of mass media and an analysis on future of social
media in Arab world.

how he s always putting her down, and she doesn t seem to understand that he still thinks of his

King Lear as a Commentary on Greed
King Lear as a Commentary on Greed
In Chapter 4 of a book titled Escape from Freedom, the famous American psychologist Erich
Fromm wrote that Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to
satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction (Fromm 98). Fromm realized that avarice is one
of the most powerful emotions that a person can feel, but, by its very nature, is an emotion or
driving force that can never be satisfied. For, once someone obtains a certain goal, that person is not
satisfied and continues to strive for more and more until that quest leads to their ultimate
destruction. For this reason, authors have embraced the idea of greed in the creation of hundreds of
characters in thousands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edmund declares that if this letter speed, / And my invention thrive, Edmund the base / Shall top the
legitimate (1.2.19 21). When Gloucester enters and forces Edmund to turn over the forged letter,
Edmund adds fuel to the fire by saying he has often heard Edgar pondering this wish. Gloucester
gullibly believes him, and Edmund s display of greed begins.
What begins as a simple plan to get all of his father s inheritance, becomes more and more
complicated as Edmund becomes progressively greedier. When Edmund encounters Edgar in the
first scene of Act II, Edmund makes Edgar leave and then injures himself so that he can tell his
father that he was injured by his bloodthirsty brother. His blatant cunning becomes extremely
obvious in a short exchange between himself and his father. Gloucester, after Edmund decided that
some blood drawn on me would beget opinion of my more fierce endeavor (2.1.33 34), asks
Edmund But where is [Edgar]? (2.1.40). Rather than answering how one might expect, Edmund
chooses to focus attention on the made up battle and his injury, and therefore responds, Look sir, I
bleed (2.1.41). This answer continues to demonstrate to the audience the amount of avarice that fills
and continues to grow within Edmund.
Near the end of the third act, Edmund s

African American Doctors
African American Women in the Healthcare Profession African Americans have endured great
pressure to find their place in American society, as well as among the professional disciplines. In
earlier times, it was extremely unusual for African Americans to be lawyers, doctors, or any other
professional where racial prejudice was a major obstacle. This has changed over time, however, the
ratio of Caucasians to minorities in the professions is still rather unproportioned. It is evident in the
play A Raisin in the Sun that African American
female doctors were almost unheard of during the
time the play was written. The history of female doctors alone was only less than one hundred
years in the making prior to the time period of the play. Over the... Show more content on

The Younger family was aware that there were not many female doctors during that time. They
also knew that women did not aspire to be a doctor but they would rather settle to be a housewife
or nurse. Walter Lee supports this claim in act one scene one by saying, Ain t many girls who
decide....to become a doctor (36). This family represented other African American Families,
therefore it is right to say that other families were aware of this issue. Walter continues, Who the
hell told you you had to be a doctor? ... go be a nurse like other women or just get married and be
quiet (38). As stated earlier, women were expected to marry well to become housewives or, if
they were interested in the healthcare professions, they were only allowed to be nurses. This
traditional mindset was expressed continually throughout this play by several characters, almost all
of the characters with the exception of Beneatha. Beneatha was determined to become a doctor,
although her character was fictional she was not the only Black female who aspired to become
involved in the medical profession. Women who shared similar values to those of Beneatha

Willie Reed Racism
Thesis: The life of Willie Reed shows a different kind of truth within the Jim Crow South, the
determination of a man s soul, and his outright righteousness towards humanity. Reconstruction
defined oppression for Southern African Americans. Abolishing slavery resulted in backlash and
more intolerance to minorities. The South s image tarnished by the institution of slavery did not
alter the social confides of its representatives. African Americans gained freedom, however, their
livelihood did not change. Generations of African Americans, in the South, endured discrimination
as the white population obscured their progress. However, the popular narrative set by the elitist
whites would not endure without conflict. The life of Willie Reed shows a different kind of truth
within the Jim Crow South, the determination of a man s soul, and his righteousness towards
humanity. Paul Ortiz interviewed Mississippi native, Willie Reed, for a study on African Americans
living conditions during the Jim Crow South. Mr. Reed, a prominent African Americanman, gained
notary in Indianola, Mississippi as a self taught craftsman. His interview showcases a different light
in the culture of the Jim Crow South. A man with deep rooted religious convictions who did not
endure the typical intolerance of the white South. Mississippi portrays the typical footprint of
discrimination in the South. Once the staple of King Cotton , Mississippi embodies the accounts of
Civil Rights injustice.

The Advancements Of India Over Time
India over time has been one of the most balanced governments in history. There has been very
few big conflicts with other countries and their own government. I am researching the
advancements of the indian world from when it started all the way up into modern day history.
Also, knowing the likeliness that they have changed a lot over multiple centuries I will search for
primary sources that I think will best describe the changes that have taken place over the years.
Towards the start of the 16th Century in the year 1504 Babur captured Kabul to take their first
control of the Mughal Empire(History World). The official launching of the Mughal Empire was
in 1526 nearing the completion of the Battle at Panipat where the Babur once again took down
the Sultan of Delhi to become the first major lead group of the new empire. Throughout time the
Babur kept fighting to maintain control of the Mughal. This plan from the opponents of Babur
did not expect to be knocked out of the running for the empire and all of the fighting led to
advancements of taking over more of what is now modern day India (History World). As time
went on multiple landowners who were also wealthy started building places for them to live in.
Such as palaces, houses, and also multiple pieces of land that they would buy to continue to
upgrade the city or empire to make it even more valuable to live in and would make it more likely
to have more battles for possession of the land. The painting shown below I see

credit for the final report unless the proposal has been submitted and returned to you. The proposal
letter will be read and graded as an assignment in Management Communication.
2.Final Written Report
Purpose and Audience
A final report is usually the last stage in some sort of problem identification/problem solving
process, or, at least, an evaluative process. Within business organizations, the audience is usually
a two part one: the staff who will be charged with acting on your findings, and the executives who
want to be able to grasp quickly the gist of your report and to act accordingly. In order to satisfy
both these audiences, your report needs to be prepared in full detail for the former audience,
although as briefly and concisely as is consonant with that goal; and in intelligent summary form for
the latter audience, usually as an executive summary.
Form and Organization
The most common flaw in reports made in business organizations, whether in written or oral form,
is that they are too linear. That is, they are organized in a pattern reflecting the process the
investigator (s) followed in conducting the study. You ll want to write instead for readers who want
their concerns emphasized, and not be

He never succeeded because Rollins was prone to make himself unavailable for months at a time. In spite of the casual occasions that generated these recordings, their quality is almost always quite high, and they document the evolution of Davis style and sound. During this time he began using the Harmon mute, held close to the microphone, in a way that became his signature, and his phrasing, especially in ballads, became spacious, harmonious, and relaxed. • 6. Detrimental Effects of the Vietnam War The Vietnam War was, and continues to be, one of America s darkest moments, one that nearly tore the nation apart. In order to stop the spread of communism in Europe and Asia, the United States aided French imperialists and their reoccupation of Vietnam. At first, the U.S took a position of neutrality to both countries, but by early 1947, they began fighting in support of France. This war, lasting over 20 years, became the longest and most unpopular war in the 20th century. The idea had been in existence for quite some time, but it was only clear what it really was when President Dwight D. Eisenhower put it into words in 1954, when referring to communism. In order for Vietnam to be free of a Communist government, the United States decided to ally with France so the Vietminh could not gain more power. Since the Americans were fresh out of fighting the Korean and Chinese Civil War, they believed Communism could be spreading everywhere. Beginning in 1950, the United States initially pledged $15 million dollars in aid of the French. This was the start of an American debt that would damage the U.S economy for almost 30 years. The President of this time, Lyndon B. Johnson, played down the United States role in Vietnam for two reasons. He believed that if Americans felt that this war had to be fought in order to protect their country from Communism, the public would demand a full scale, no holds barred war that could have led to Chinese and Russian ... • 13. Katherina The Shrew How does Shakespeare utilise Katherina as a comic tool Eliza The Taming of the Shrew is famous for its fast paced and witty dialogue, and possesses one of Shakespeare s greatest female characters, Katherina the Shrew. The plot, derived from the popular war of the sexes theme in which a male and female are pitted against each other for dominance in marriage, has the uneasy feel that comedy is made of the pushing of boundaries. It uses the controversies that laughter induced as a radical anti authoritarian form. Katherina, in the plot, is reputed through Padua as a foul tempered and sharp tongued shrew, who constantly insults and degrades men around her, resulting in her never finding a suitor, which seemingly puts the conventions of comedy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is difficult to believe a character as strong willed and vibrant as Katherina is changed so easily. Employing the humorous device of false realities that Shakespeare set in place so early in the play, it would seem more logical that Katherine would simply be acting the part of the obedient wife in order to be accepted in the society in which she lives. Katherine can play a part very well and can even enjoy doing it. For example, on the road to Padua from Petruchio s house when Kate is forced to address Vincentio as a woman and says Young budding virgin, fair and fresh and sweet (Act 4, Scene1). The most significant evidence to support this theory comes from the scene where Kate finally breaks and agrees to play along with Petruchio s game of make believe. The final speech, then, can be seen as an extension of Kate s newfound ability to role play , or act. This theory is particularly appealing because the entire play is very much interested in the theatricality of everyday life and the performance aspects of gender roles. This creates a comic parallel with the induction, when Bartholomew tacitly plays the part of an obedient noblemans wife under the direction of the lord. After analysis, one may think the play is actually, in fact, a comedy about an assertive woman coping with how she is expected to behave in the society of the late 16th century and how one must obey the unwritten rules of society. Consequently the play ends with her outwardly conforming to the norms of society, Thy husband is they lord, thy life, they keeper, thy head, they sovereign...(women) when they are bound to serve, love and obey . In this situation, a young man and woman commit suicide in the name of love, since the stars will not allow them to be together. Multiple scapegoats lie in this story of the tragic deaths: the fault of the families for not allowing the two to marry, the fault of Friar Lawrence for marrying Romeo and Juliet and giving them the materials to kill themselves, or the stupidity of youth. Fate brought Romeo and Juliet together, even when the stars tried to keep them apart. • 30. Abstract Art, Character Design, And Pencil Tests For my case study the three pieces of artwork that I ll be talking about revolve around animation, as that is my field of study. The artwork I chose will range from concept art, character design, and pencil tests. First let s take a look at Hayao Miyazaki s concept art for one of his movies known as Spirited Away, which was released in the United States in 2002. The movie appears to be satire, but that isn t my purpose. I have five young female friends who are about the same age as Hiiragi san*, and I spend every summer with them at my mountain cabin. I wanted to make a movie they could enjoy. That is why I started this film, and that is my true purpose (Shoten). Those were the words of Miyazaki, translated by Ryoko Toyama, showing that this image and the movie s purpose in general was to provide entertainment. The intended audience for all Studio Ghiblifilms is family, and especially children. Miyazaki s goal from his art is to make movies that everyone can enjoy, as stated above. Getting back to this specific image, it is most likely a mixed media of watercolor, acrylic paint, and probably edited with a computer, as it is a final background that was used in the movie. Immediately you can see balance within this piece. While both sides are not exactly symmetrical it gives off that implication by having both sides very similar if you were to split the image down the middle, especially the train that almost appears that way on it s own. Tort reform is the response; a tort is a civil lawsuit for damages over private wrongs other than breach of contract. According to Lau and Johnson (2014), a tort can be categorized into three categories: intentional tort, when tortfeasor acted with intent, negligence, if the tortfeasor did not act intentionally, but failed to act as a reasonable person, and lastly, strict liability, if the tortfeasor is engaged in certain activities, which caused injury or death due to it. Further, Professor Baker at the University of Pennsylvania posited that we have the same number of claims today as in the late 1980s. In addition, reforms actually make it more difficult for victims to prove their cases. Currently, according to Doroshow (2009), there are more liability protection for the medical profession than any other profession in the nation. The reforms actually offer Healthcare giants more protection by limiting tort actions and compensatory damages. For example, a Milwaukee woman was awarded $25.3 million in tort damages after losing all four limbs due to doctor negligence. Interestingly, Wisconsin law has a non economic damage limit of $750,000, therefore the defense attorneys will likely ask for the award to be lowered to that amount (Spivak, 2014). The author of Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights believes that drug testing is a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution; Courts have ruled that drugtestsare a search. A search is a privacy issue, and there has to be a reason for the search. This is true. Drug tests are a search, and in some cases they may violate the rights of some citizens. This is driven by the belief that employees are different and need to be managed as individuals rather than a one size fits all approach as had been in the past. Every individual has different aspirations, potential, needs and growth expectations; and it falls on the employers of today to acknowledge that and make that change over to their human resource management practices. Such elaborate preparations required large amount of capital as well as physical space as the separation equipment, is most generally extremely large and occupies huge area. The introduction of membrane separators was a major breakthrough as the membrane separation techniques do away with all such problems. The membrane separators generally have a very high selectivity for a particular component (which is aimed to be separated) in the absorption process, as well as they are compact and modular, which essentially means that the scale up is not an issue with the membrane separators. The TIQ Flash ADC provides higher data sampling rate and operates at low voltage and also low power consumption. пѓ A 8 bit TIQ based 780MSPS CMOS Flash A/D converter J.Ramesh, K. Gunavathi [24] ; present the design of an 8 bit Flash ADC with TIQ comparators,. Speed of this ADC is 787.78mbps and the power consumed is 800mw. In this design the comparators are realized with the inverters, which avoids the complexity in the design of conventional comparators. The TIQ comparator consists of two cascaded CMOS inverters. The analog input signal quantization level is set in the first stage by changing the VTC by means of transistor sizing. The second inverter stage is used for increased gain and logic level inversion so that the circuit behaves as an internally set comparator circuit. The key point about second stage is that it must be exactly same as the first stage to maintain the same DC threshold levels and to keep the linearity in balance for the voltage rising and falling intervals of high frequency input signals. пѓ Employing threshold inverter quantization (TIQ) technique in designing 9 bit folding and interpolation CMOS analog to digital converters (ADC) Oktay Aytar and Ali Tangel [42] ; This paper present designing and interpolation of a 9 bit folding and interpolation ADC using 0.35 Вµm CMOS C35B4 model under AMS HIT kit library. The complete system consist of two main blocks, one of them is 4 bit flash ADC using TIQ technique and second one is the 5 bit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. The Advancements Of India Over Time India over time has been one of the most balanced governments in history. There has been very few big conflicts with other countries and their own government. I am researching the advancements of the indian world from when it started all the way up into modern day history. Also, knowing the likeliness that they have changed a lot over multiple centuries I will search for primary sources that I think will best describe the changes that have taken place over the years. Towards the start of the 16th Century in the year 1504 Babur captured Kabul to take their first control of the Mughal Empire(History World). The official launching of the Mughal Empire was in 1526 nearing the completion of the Battle at Panipat where the Babur once again took down the Sultan of Delhi to become the first major lead group of the new empire. Throughout time the Babur kept fighting to maintain control of the Mughal. This plan from the opponents of Babur did not expect to be knocked out of the running for the empire and all of the fighting led to advancements of taking over more of what is now modern day India (History World). As time went on multiple landowners who were also wealthy started building places for them to live in. Such as palaces, houses, and also multiple pieces of land that they would buy to continue to upgrade the city or empire to make it even more valuable to live in and would make it more likely to have more battles for possession of the land. The painting shown below I see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My academic goals as a Year 11 student at Ivanhoe Grammar School next year and the following years is simply to give 110% effort to every subject. I will try and aim for the best that I can do and try to break personal bests in the following years. I have no specific grade I want to achieve, I just think as long as I put in as much effort as I can, then that s enough. In what Academic area/s have you achieved excellence while at Ivanhoe Grammar School and why? I think I have achieved a decent performance over the years but I think that my main excellence is in the area of Mathematics. I think this is the case as I have particular ... I think I am a very patient person, and to me I think patience is extremely important when it comes to teaching someone knowledge, especially if they find it challenging or boring. I also have the passion of energy to teach, which is also important as if the teacher is excited to teach, then the student wouldn t be bored. A recent example if my teacher my friends sister maths. At the start, I became very annoyed and irritated as it was my first time, but as I gave her more and more lessons, the initial sense of annoyance became a passionate and proud feeling. Every time she did well in a maths test, I would also feel really good as I think that i have contributed to her improvement, but then acts as fuel and urges me to give more and more lessons to people around ... Organization Behavoir JOINT FIELD PROJECT MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR Your major and final project for both Organizational Behavior and Management Communication will be a field based project pursued by your group, involving field research (interviews, focus groups, data collection, etc.), and culminating in a formal report and an oral presentation (by the team) to your client (optional) and your classmates and professors. Objectives The objectives of this assignment are: 1.To provide you the opportunity to apply the theory and processes you are learning to actual practice, with the structure and guidance provided by your professors, and with the support of your group and other classmates. 2.To provide you with ... The proposal will not be graded, but it will be read carefully with an eye for feasibility, potential pitfalls, and possible directions you might pursue for most fruitful results. You will not receive credit for the final report unless the proposal has been submitted and returned to you. The proposal letter will be read and graded as an assignment in Management Communication. 2.Final Written Report Purpose and Audience A final report is usually the last stage in some sort of problem identification/problem solving process, or, at least, an evaluative process. Within business organizations, the audience is usually a two part one: the staff who will be charged with acting on your findings, and the executives who want to be able to grasp quickly the gist of your report and to act accordingly. In order to satisfy both these audiences, your report needs to be prepared in full detail for the former audience, although as briefly and concisely as is consonant with that goal; and in intelligent summary form for the latter audience, usually as an executive summary. Form and Organization The most common flaw in reports made in business organizations, whether in written or oral form, is that they are too linear. That is, they are organized in a pattern reflecting the process the investigator (s) followed in conducting the study. You ll want to write instead for readers who want their concerns emphasized, and not be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
