How Did Jackie Robinson Show Moral Courage
42: The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything
People often choose to either avoid or interact with specific people due to certain factors such as
race, skin color, hair color, and much more. This idea is widely known as racism. Many people
challenge the idea of racism through displays of moral courage. One key person who challenged
racism with moral courage was Jackie Robinson. In their publication, U.S. History in Context,
Mother Jones states, [Robinson] the player who broke Major League Baseball s color barrier in
1947 and later used his fame to push for racial equality. Robinson overcame his hot temper in order
to become the first integrated african american major league baseball player. Jackie Robinson

Mother Jones, of U.S. History in Context, talks about what Jackie did as a person near the end of
his life. Robinson originally played baseball, not knowing it was a for a bigger purpose, and the
bigger purpose is explained by Mother Jones. Mother Jones explains Another magnificent athlete
who fought racism while excelling on the playing field was Jackie Robinson. Jackie clearly
knew that he was fighting racism however he never knew it was to create integrated sports.
Jackie displayed moral courage because Jackie changed the world to make all races allowed to
player sports, destroying the idea of racism in many states. Robinson did many things, however his
major accomplishment was making the idea of racism cease in many places across the world.
Clearly Jackie Robinson displayed moral courage by fighting racism and playing Major League
Baseball as the first african american player to do so. Jackie had to constantly avoid resorting to
violence; he had to take everyone s abuse, and in order to achieve his overall goal. African
Americans would have joined Major League Baseball at some point in time, however Jackie
pioneered the progression of this idea which allowed for African Americans to join the League
sooner than people initially

Analysis of Edgar Allan PoeВґs The Tell-Tale Heart
The Tell Tale Heart , written in 1843, is a simultaneous horror and mental story presented in a
first person perspective, in which Edgar Allan Poe, the author, portrays that the significant
influence of inner guilty and fear on narrator s insane. The author achieves this in the means of
figurative languages, symbolism and the plot of the story. Through the whole story, there is no
doubt that guilty plays a tremendously crucial role. It is obvious that symbolism is used for
many times. To begin with, the evil eye is one of the reasons why the narrator wants to kill the
old man. I undid it just so much that a single think ray fell upon the culture eye (page 1)He refers
the old man s eyes as evil and vulture like eyes. As we all know, vulture is the type of animals
who attack dead animals. He is afraid of the old man s vulture like eyes mainly because he thinks
that he will be dead, therefore, he plans to kill the old man. Furthermore, the heart beat
symbolizes the narrator s conscience and the guilty over a murder because the old man has never
done something wrong. Since the corpse is just under his seat, he is afraid of being found that the
old man is killed by him, which causes him to be extremely guilt, therefore, he heard the beat. So,
the evil eyes and beating heart can clearly portray the crucial effects of guilty. What s more, the use
of figurative languages poses a great amount of influences on present the theme of guilty. Repetition

Cultural Capital And Social Capital
Alongside both racist and sexist media constructionism, hackneyed class cliches are equally as
pervasive. Pierre Bourdieu coined the phrase cultural capital which is the representation of the
cultural knowledge, temperament and disposition that is inherited from generation to generation.
Published to the Oxford University Press, Pierre Bordieu explained his theory of cultural capitalas
consisting of three elements: cultural capital can exist in three forms: in the embodied state, i.e., in
the form of long lasting dispositions of the mind and body; in the objectified state, in the form of
cultural goods (pictures, books, dictionaries, instruments, machines, etc.), which are the trace or
realization of theories or critiques of these theories, problematics, etc.; and in the institutionalized
state, a form of objectification which must be set apart because, as will be seen in the case of
educational qualifications, it confers entirely original properties on the cultural capital which it is
presumed to guarantee (Bourdieu 1978). Another important facet of Bordieu s theory of cultural
capital is a habitus which is a set of dispositions that incline agents to act and react in certain ways
particularly, the result of structural conditions, but it simultaneously organizes practices and
perceptions. (Bordieu 1978) Noticeably similar to social constructivism, cultural capital is an
occurrence that has the capacity to institutionalize harmful stigmatic stereotypes. To further

Comparing Sherlock Holmes And The 2009 Film
There are many similarities and differences between the literary version of Sherlock Holmes and
the film version of him. There have been several different interpretations of Sherlock Holmes in
film, however arguably the most well known movie version is the 2009 film. While the 2009
movie does an alright job of adapting Arthur Conan Doyles formula to the big screen, it fails to
fully realize the character of Sherlock Holmesand the many mystery stories he has been in. First,
Arthur Conan Doyle s version of Sherlock Holmes differs from the 2009 film version of Sherlock
Holmes by not having a narrator. One of the largest staples of Doyle s stories was the fact that Dr.
Watson was narrating every single story. This unique perspective allows... Show more content on

Arthur Conan Doyle wrote many Sherlock Holmes stories and did so over the course of many
years. A large majority of these stories were smaller in scope and focused on a mystery that only
pertained to a small area of London, while the 2009 film focuses on a mystery that poses a threat
to all of London (IMDb). This immediately shifts the tone of the story to something much darker
than usual and could be off putting to potential new fans. While a large scale threat makes for a
much more exciting movie, it does not encompass what originally made Arthur Conan Doyle s
stories so engaging. His stories were popular because they offered close up views and intimate
experiences with mysteries that were believable to the common reader, while the 2009 movie aims

Numinbah Valley Case Study
Numinbah Valley is an area and suburb approximately forty eight kilometres south west of the
Gold Coast, in south eastern Queensland, Australia. Numinbah Valley covers approximately 116
square kilometres. The area is in the south east part of Queensland and is part of the Gold Coast
Hinterland. Numinbah Valley is the upper catchment for the Nerang River. As the name suggests,
Numinbah Valley is a valley, with several elevated areas in it (Figure 14 and 13). The valley is
well preserved, with only 10 percent of the area having been cleared of vegetation. Only one major
road runs through the valley, it being the Nerang Murwillumbah road (there are a few other roads

President Johnson s Vision Of Creating A Great Society
Abstract
Programs to stimulate growth of minority owned businesses have existed in the United States
since the late 1960s. President Johnson s vision of creating a Great Society led to a host of
endeavors that sought to change the political, social and economic landscape of the U.S. In his
1965 commencement address to graduates of Howard University, LBJ gave voice to his vision,
declaring, We seek not just freedom but opportunity. We seek not just legal equity but human
ability, not just equality as a right and a theory but equality as a fact and equality as a result. There
has been Executive Orders issued by the President of the United States throughout history to carry
out and to promote minority owned businesses:

For the first time, EO 11246 charged the Secretary of Labor, a Cabinet level official with strong
enforcement authority, with the responsibility of ensuring equal opportunity for minorities in
federal contractors recruitment, hiring, training and other employment practices. Until that time,
such efforts had been in the hands of various Presidential committees. EO 11246 continued and
reinforced the requirement that federal contractors not discriminate in employment and take
affirmative action to ensure equal opportunity based on race, color, religion, and national origin.
Signed by President Johnson that early autumn Friday 50 years ago, EO 11246 became a key
landmark in a series of federal actions aimed at ending racial, religious and ethnic discrimination, an
effort that dated back to the anxious days before the U.S. was thrust into World War II.
Today, Executive Order 11246, as amended and further strengthened over the years, remains a
major safeguard, protecting the rights of workers employed by federal contractors approximately
one fifth of the entire U.S. labor force to remain free from discrimination on the basis of their race,
color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin...and opening the doors of

Military Politics Of The United States
(intro) Imagine this you look about the window, see gunfire and American citizens walking around

everyone living in the US, because the nation s defense is what keeps us safe. Think about this
world threats are rising, and we are an international superpower. The United Statesneed a strong
defense, not a cheap one. Although increased military spending could result in more national debt

However, the benefits of a well funded military would be monumental.
We would be a very well protected world power, create more military jobs, a better working
environment for our troops and other military personnel, and it would help stimulate the economy
in countless ways. Living in America is something that almost all of our citizens enjoy daily. It is
the government s responsibility to protect this right. America can t be free if it becomes controlled
by terrorists, Nazis, Fascists, dictators, communists, Imperialists or other world evils. All serving
military personnel took an oath to serve and protect this country, but that is hard to do that without
proper equipment, small funding, and an outdated military.
A strong and ready army is one of the metaphorical pillars that support our nation. A good country
needs many things including resources, protection, suitable environment, a strong yet fair
government, and other important things.
Most people are convinced we have the best military in the world. The reality is that our military
is in the same situation as before WWII: underfunded, and out of date. The USAF (United States
Air Force) is still currently using the B 52 Bomber, a plane that was introduced when President
Truman was in office. Yes, the same president that took over office during WWII. Yet, people
believe the military is still in date . The military can t be effective while using technology that was

The report captures the findings and interface gaps on the current usage of Sun System, Actisure,
Medis and Ilanga systems compared to the potential benefits envisaged if medical receipting and
payments were done wholly under one core system i.e. Actisure.
This report puts forwards the justification for consolidating all the medical receipting and payments
processing into the core medical system, to improve the efficiency of operations and eliminate most
of the manual related processes in the current scenario. The Actisure Medical system already has the
accounting functionalities within itself, thus it will be beneficial to utilize these functions and

Iodp Site 913 Glaciations
The Onset of the Northern Hemisphere Glaciation
By Christina Ohrazda
Student at Stockholm University
28.09.15
Introduction
The Northern Hemisphere Glaciation (NHG) is believed to have initiated into large scale,
permanent ice sheets ~2.5 Ma, which is almost 31.5 Ma after the initiation of the Antarctica ice
sheets. There are many possible causes for the onset of this climate event, some of which we will
be reviewing in this essay. In this essay we will look at the cores from IODP and ODP sites 302,
Arctic Ocean; 913, Greenland basin; and 907, north of Iceland, in order to identify the
characteristics and possible causes of the northern hemisphere glaciations. First we will look at the
evidence for the onset of this event and the proxies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, proxies show that the initiation of IRD ~46.25 Ma at site 306, correspond to a 1000
ppm decrease in CO2 gases in the atmosphere (See Figure 5. Note. From Cenozoic ice rafting
history of the central Arctic Ocean: Terrigenous sands on the Lomonosov Ridge (St. John 2007)).
This correlation between IRD and pCO2 is critical since it leads us to the hypothesis that a decline
of pCO2 could have driven the climate in the polar regions over a temperature threshold, which
enabled the onset of continental glaciers and ice sheets on the surface of the Arctic Sea (St. John
2008). This is only one of many possible reasons of the NHG onset, where other potential causes
suggested for the initiation of the NHG are: events of mountain building; plateau uplift in southern
Asia and the American West; Volcanic triggering, resulting in aerosols in the atmosphere; and the
closure of Panama Seaway, which would have changed the whole ocean circulation and distribution
of cold vs. warm ocean water (St. John et al.

Impacts Of The Great Depression
What was the Great Depression and what impact did it have? The Great Depression was the worst
economic situation known to man. It started in the late 1920s, 1929 1939 to be exact. It was the
very first severe depression ever encountered to our world. The impacts it had was that the stock
market crashed harshly, there was bank failures, and the government couldn t do much about it. Its
not until Franklin D. Roosevelttook charge and created a New Deal, unlike the previous president,
Hubert Hoover, he let our economy be in a complete state of depression.

At this point the lighting is very bright and natural. This small glimpse of the outside world
reinvigorates Andy s hope and sustains him through his time at Shawshank. We drank beer like

the light in this scene was bright evening light, the last glimpse of light at the end of the day

return to the confines of Shawshank, A language feature used in The Shawshank Redemption to
show hope is dialogue. In particular there is Reds voice over narration, which shows how Reds
opinion of hope changes throughout the movie. Andy is a symbol of hope in Shawshank, and it
is not only Andy s hope that grows but he also affects the inmate around him. When Andy first
tells Red of his dream to go to Mexico, Red says; Hope is a dangerous thing. It will drive a man
insane, it has no place here. This shows how Red thought that hope was pointless and futile. This
also shows how the prison could take away a man s hope; even turn him bitterly against the idea
of it. It is only when Andy eventually makes his escape that the inmates realise how truly
powerful hope is. When Red is released from prison and make his way to Mexico, he says; I hope
the Pacific is as blue as it is in my dreams. I hope. This use of repetition shows the attitude

While the women in the church have an organized discipleship effort happening, there is not a
concerted effort to grow men into faithful followers of Jesus Christ. The men of the church need a
program where discipleship happens intentionally. The scripture that First Baptist Church uses for
it s vision is Matthew 5:13. The City on a Hill theme comes for this verse. The idea is that we
should be salt and light to the world so that others will know Him through us. People are not
committed followers of Christ just because they study the Bible. That is only part of the process.
The Great Commission tells us to make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to obey (Matthew
28:16). The Great Commandment tells us to love God and others. (Matthew 22). The New
Commandment in John tells us to love one another (John 13:34 35). The church needs to be able to
forge relationship so that they in turn can reproduce more Christians. The commitment level in the
Sunday School ministries is strong at First Baptist. About 60 percent of the Sunday morning
worship is also in Sunday School. Sunday School tends to be strictly educational in nature. The
groups do take care of each other in most cases. However, mentoring and further discipleship is not
happening. The participation in other discipleship programs is much smaller. As stated earlier, the

The Cultural Impacts Of Culture And Cultural Evolution In...
Introduction If you compare your DNA to the person sitting next to you, how similar do you think
it will be? It turns out that biologically humans are about 99.0 99.9% similar to each other. We
know that these small differences account for distinctive variation such as hair, eye, and skin
color. However, the person next to you may not speak the same language, have the same beliefs, or
have the same customs. Therefore all aspects of human behavior are not determined by biology. So
what accounts for these differences? In this chapter we will explore cultureand how cultural
evolutionhas impacted humans.
What is Culture? (couple paragraphs, general ideas, cultural phenomena)
Culture is the transmission of ideas and technologies across generations. Unlike genetics humans
are not born with culture, they learn it from the people around them and their environment. A
society s language, food, arts, clothes, religion, beliefs, and tools all fall under the umbrella of
culture. Thus, accounting for the differences found between people. However, just like biology,
culture cannot account for all human behavior.
In order for behaviors to be considered cultural, they must fit into a criteria established by cultural
anthropologist. Anthropologist study the culture of local and global communities. In order to
obtain accurate information from different communities cultural anthropologist engage in a practice
called fieldwork. When conducting fieldwork anthropologist must establish

A Theme of the Opera in Bel Canto by Ann Patchett
Bel Canto by Ann Patchett The theme of the novel draws its most core intensities from the art of
opera. Patchett fantastically utilizes the language and the pathos of music for the examination of
jungle born revolutionaries and the international hostages. This novel reflects our extraordinary
aptitude to structure emotional associations in improbable and shaky ways. Manette Ansay, author
of Midnight Champagne says: Let me put this plainly: Ann Patchetthas written the best book I

Class, Culture, And Gender
Intersectionality is the concept that is used when examining the interconnections between a group
or a an individual dealing with race, class, culture, and gender. Since these groups intersect with one
another, they cannot be examined separately. The term intersectionality was first coined by
Kimberle Crenshaw, being a woman of color she argued that black women have to deal with two
types of discrimination, racismand sexism. A combination of two types of discrimination, when
studying an individual it hard not to intersect them with different types of discrimination. Crenshaw
and other women of color would not have to deal with double discrimination if white women were
not discriminated and if black peoplewere not discriminated as well. Privilege then comes into
play here, more importantly white privilege, having social advantages just by being born white.
Having white privilege only goes so far, if you are a woman one still has the social advantages
of being white, but then comes in sexism and male privilege. Where privilege and oppression
intersect on not only an individual, but a type of group, being the white female. By being a white
woman one can be privileged and oppressed at the same time. While if you are a woman of color
you are discriminated more upon and more oppressed since you are not only dealing with one
discrimination, but two. One type of group that comes into play with discrimination is the woman.

Nike And Sweatshop Practices During Asian Pacific Region
Nike and Sweatshop Practices in Asian Pacific Region The introduction and growth of
globalization in the developing world coupled with the rise of Multi National Corporations have
produced an onslaught on factory workers who are forced to work in sweatshops for little or no
pay. A business dictionary defines globalization as the worldwide movement towards economic,
financial, trade and communications integration. Globalization points towards the opening of
local and nationalistic perspectives to a broader outlook of a unified and independent world
with free transfer of capital goods and services across national borders. The transfer of these
goods and services is done by Multi National Corporations (MNCs). MNCs continue to move
their factories overseas to evade the strict regulatory guidelines that embody employees rights and
privileges. Moreover, developing countries provide access to a vast pool of cheap labor. Utilizing
cheap labor in less developed countries enables MNCs to continue to meet the demands of
consumers in the developed countries as well as their bottom line. To gain competitive advantage in
the market and increase profits, MNCs conduct business around the world utilizing the availability
of cheap labor. Even though government has a part to play in protecting the human and
environmental resources within host countries the question is should MNCs be allowed to abuse,
exploit and violate the rights of these workers? Throughout the 1990s, Nikewas

horror film in a documentary style movie. The release of the film in 1999 marked a new phase
in the creation of films. The Blair Witch Project set a benchmark for production of films of
different genres, especially for horror movies. The fixtures of the genre, horror films, have long
being characterized by the presence of graphical violence and torture by villains like monsters,
ghosts, demons and madmen or psychopaths. Prior to the release of the Blair Witch Project, most
horror movies were developing in many ways especially in the storyline and justifications of the
supernatural characters and scenes. Blair Witch Project was very special in many ways, using
mystery, suspense and foreshadowing to create the intense fear and scare in the audience. Since the
1980s, the horror movies have changed dramatically. With every new experience through

Anorexia And Bulimia Nervosa
Introduction
In today s society, media is everywhere around us, and it can have a greater impact on us than
we believe and/or like to admit. According to James G Webster, media can be defined as a way
of communicating with the general public; newspapers, magazines, television, and billboards.
Being exposed to mass media s glorification of slim and modified bodies can over time lead to a
negative body image, and that possibly leading to extreme dieting and mental health problems, such
as an eating disorder.
Body image involves one s perception, imagination, emotions, and physical sensations of and about
our bodies (Lightstone, 2012). Lightstone also argued that body image is not based on facts, but in
our nature and influenced more by self esteem than by actual attractiveness judged by others.
According to Lightstone, body image can change depending on mood, environment, and mental
health. A dissatisfied body image can lead to dieting, and sometimes even eating disorders. The
eating disorders that this essay will focus on are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. ... Show

Interracial Advancements
Descent and distribution state statutes as well as supplemental statutes or court rulings can prohibit
or limit inheritance in certain unusual circumstances. Some of these unusual circumstances include:
advancements, renunciation or disclaimer and public policy.
Advancements:
Advancement means that a person can transfer property to expectant heirs with the intention that the
property be deducted from their eventual expected inheritance. In most states, an advancement is
required to be memorialized in a contemporaneous writing. This is a result of problems with
fraudulent claims. The advancement could be a gift or a loan. It depends upon the specific
situation. If it s a gift, it s typically deducted from the amount the heir would otherwise ... Show

The renunciation is a return of the property. A disclaimer is a passing on of the property. Either
one will suffice for an heir who does not want to receive his inheritance. Both usually mean that the
heir will be treated as predeceasing the estate and their inheritance will pass to the next person in
line (according to the statute of descent and distribution).
Public Policy:
Sometimes the state may limit or prohibit an inheritance. This would be done for public policy
reasons. For instance, two or more potential heirs die at the same time (perhaps in the same event
of accident). The difficulty of providing which of the two potential heirs died first, second, third,
etc. will often result in the state s adoption of the Uniform Simultaneous Death Act. Under this
Act, if one potential heir does not clearly survive the other potential hear by a certain amount of
time, both will be treated as having predeceased the other. This results in equal shares of their
jointly owned property being distributed to the heirs of both potential heirs. In addition, public
policy could limit or prohibit inheritance of a person who was involved in an intentionally killing
that left them benefitting from the act, i.e. if the killer would benefit from the victim s death. In
this situation the potential heir or killer would be treated as predeceased. Public policy can also
block inheritance by an illegal alien unless there is a treaty in place between the United States and
the appropriate foreign country that would allow the

placed upon a re examination of numerous phases of our history relating to the Civil War. While
several papers have dealt with certain forces which helped bring about the Civil War, none has

Before attempting to say what were the causes of the American Civil War, first let me say what
were not the causes of this war. Perhaps the most beautiful, the most poetic, the most eloquent

A systematic study of both northern and southern opinion as expressed in their newspapers,

ideology was democratic and identical. However, theoretical adherence to the democratic
principles, as veil we know all too well in these days of plutocratic influences in our political life, is
not sufficient evidence that democratic government exists. I believe that I shall not be challenged
in the assertion that the economic structure of a section or a nation is the foundation upon which its
political structure must rest. For this reason, therefore, it will be necessary to know what the
economic foundations of these sections were. Was the economic structure of the North such as to
support a political democracy in fact as well as in form? And was the economic structure of the
South such as to permit the existence of free government? Time does not permit an extended
treatment of this subject; it will be possible only to point out certain conclusions based upon recent
research. By utilizing the county tax books and the unpublished census reports a group of us

picture of wealth structure of the antebellum South, and to some extent that of the other sections.

Congressional Term Limits Essay
While Donald J. Trump was at a campaign event in Colorado Springs, he said that if he was elected
president he would call for congressional term limits. He began by saying that he has plans to drain
the swamp of Washington, DC. As apart of this statement, he promised to push for a constitutional
amendment to impose term limits on congressional lawmakers. Not only will it end our
government corruption, but we will end the economic stagnation that we are in right now , stated
Trump. What Donald Trump is talking about is directly connected to the United StatesCongress and
would have huge impact on Congress if gone through with.
This is of considerable significance due to the fact that Congress is a fundamental part of the United
States government. And changing it, would lead to major changes in how our government
functions. Limiting congressional terms might have some unforeseen complications. For example,
some states have placed term limits on their state legislatures, and have found that newly elected
legislators tend to be more partisan and ideological than their more seasoned colleagues. Long
serving lawmakers often become more understanding of the rival party and learn how to find
workable compromises. While novice legislators, fresh from the campaign trail, often see the other
party as an enemy. Which can greatly inhibit the coalition building needed to pass budgets and
meaningful laws. On the other hand, some people believe that term limits will ... Show more content

Preparedness Programs As mentioned earlier children is one of many vulnerable group of
people when an earthquake occur. They do not concern themselves with training and conducting
safety drills compared to adults who wants to and needs to prepare for such disasters. Children
are more interested in making friends, playing with friends, learning, and, of course, having fun
at home and school. Most of the time, children are at school doing what they need to do, which
is to learn from what the school has to offer. They do not fully understand that they may be

Taking this into consideration the media industries must release products for their customers to
buy in order for them to make a profit. This is known as commercial bias for the reason that the
customers of the news media are advertisers. The meaning of good to media sources is observed as
the number of readers and viewers attention they can draw.
The sources of bias can be from editors, journalists, speakers and corporation groups. When
journalists or any other news source decide to publish a particular story it needs to be taken into
account whether or not they will benefit from the story or will it be a failure to them. A journalist
will attempt to be neutral by taking two points into thought, the first being: fairness to those
individuals involved within the news / story being released and the second is a professional process
of collecting data / information that obtains fairness, completeness and accurateness.
When detecting bias in a press release or story a number of issues can be raised from the reader s
point of view resulting in questions relating to the authors socio political position and which group
they belong to, does the speaker have something or another to gain personally for actually releasing
the story or not. Such

Analysis Of Animal Farm, By George Orwell
Animal Farm was written by George Orwell in 1945. The book reflects events leading up to the
Russian Revolution of 1917 and then on into the Stalinist era of the Soviet Union. Animal farm
includes use of propaganda as well. A quote for example would be some animals are equal but
some are more equal than others. I think that this book fits that quote very well as the author
makes Napoleon along with Snowball are the leaders of the rebellion against Jones. A few
questions that come to mind are, how does one define one animal being more equal than others?
Why is a certain animal favored over the others? Why are there two leaders of the same animal
and not two different ones? Why are two pigs picked as the leader? I feel that this book... Show

This theme in Animal Farm can also be looked as people being equal, but some are more equal
than others because sometimes that is how certain people see others. Just because they re
different they don t get the same treatment as others. My argument is for everyone and every
animal being equal. The leaders Napoleon and Snowball do not take the role in treating the
other animals equally. Boxer, the horse works harder than anyone else and is not treated as well
as the other animals. He was not first in the rate of intelligence, but he was university respected
for his steadiness of character, and tremendous power of work. These are great qualities for a
horse, but as it turns out not such great qualities for a revolutionary under Stalin s government. He
works harder for others but still is treated unequally. His self motto is I will work harder.
Comparing the animals to one another because they re different is like comparing a black human
being with a white human being. They may look different from everyone else but does that mean
they should be voted out of doing something because of it? No it does not. I believe that everyone
is the same no matter their race, religion, sexuality, anything about them that will put them out in a
different group. Just because something is different about them doesn t mean they should be
excluded from doing certain

Tecumseh accompanied an olderbrother, Chiksika, on a series of raids against frontier settlements in

Tecumseh slowly transformed his brother s religious following into a political movement. In 1808
Tecumseh and the Prophet moved their village to the juncture of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers,
where the new settlement, Prophetstown, continued to attract Indians. After the loss of much
Indian land at the Treaty of Fort Wayne, Tecumseh gradually eclipsed his brother as the primary
leader of the movement. He traveled throughout the Midwest urging tribes to form a political
confederacy to prevent any further erosion of their lands. In November 1811, while Tecumseh was
in the South attempting to recruit the Creeks into his confederacy, U.S. forces marched against
Prophetstown. In the subsequent Battle of the Tippecanoe they defeated the Prophet, burned the
settlement, and destroyed the Indians food supplies. After returning from the South Tecumseh tried
to rebuild his shattered confederacy. But when the War of 1812 broke out, he withdrew to
Michigan where he assisted the British in the capture of Detroit and led pro British Indians in small
actions in southern Michigan and northern Ohio (Fort Meigs). When William Henry Harrison
invaded Upper Canada, Tecumseh reluctantly accompanied the British retreat. He was killed by
American forces at the Battle of the Thames on October 5, 1813. Although they never found the

Teacher Identity And Identity
Merriam Webster s Dictionary defines identity as the distinguishing character or personality of
an individual. Teacher identity implies both a cognitive psychological and sociological
perspective: people develop their identity in interaction with other people, but they express their
professional identity in perceptions of who they are and who they want to become as a result of
this interaction. (Bejaard 2006). I come from a middle class family of six, with two parents with
only a high school diploma. My father Immigrated to America in the early 1940 s from Puerto
Rico, while my mom was born in the Bronx N.Y and is African American and Bajan decent. I
was born in the Bronx in the early seventies, and raised in Suffolk County Long island during the
early eighties. I grew up in a small community called Gordon Heights which is a predominantly
African American Neighborhood in Coram NY. This small community was surrounded smaller
towns in Suffolk county New York mainly composed of Families of Italian, German Jewish
descent. Growing up we spent our weekends and summers in the Bronx and Spanish Harlem,
which allow my siblings and I to stay in touch with our Afro Latino roots. Attending school on long
Island in comparison to NY city schools, was a blessing of sorts because the quality of education
was better. This is where I learned to develop relationships with people of all races, even though we
were in the minority.
Keeping in touch with our communities in Bronx Harlem, during my senior year in High School
was able to join a program called The International Youth Leadership Institute, sponsored by
Teachers College and Columbia University. Through this program, in which I was fortunate to be a
part of, is where opportunity to travel outside the United States to Senegal, West Africa. This
experience changed my life forever in which I now see the world through a different lens.
At an early age in life, the elders of the family always taught us about the African history and
what it means to be of the African Diaspora. I had a firsthand experience of visiting slave holding
cells and seeing the door of no return In Goree Island, Senegal. Through this trip I was able to
understand the effects of

Code-Switching In Thomas Williams Losing My Cool
In the year 2017, code switching is a trait commonly found amongst most people in the world. If
you were to ask someone if they believe they code switch you may two answers; one or the other.
What is code switching or NO (with attitude) I do not code switch . In today s terminology, code
switching is considered as playing a double role . In the novel Losing my Cool by Thomas
Williams, main character Thomas engages code switching which is having an effect on the
building of his identity as a black man. Some may argue that code switching will have a positive

The Importance And Influence Of The Romanesque Era
Taking a journey through the historical time line of the past, it is clear to see that change
occurs. Some periods illustrate more change than others, some of them are of greater influence
than the period before it, and then there are those that are not only influential from an art
perspective, but also from the perspective of the styles ability to spread across a whole region. A
period that specifically displayed this capability was the Romanesque era. The Romanesque era
was a period in time which was actually not based on the premise of geographical location or
political stance, but more on the premise of the artistry and architectural design during that time
(Kleiner, 2014). It is suggested that the influence of the Romanesque artistic styles was largely
due to the volume of pilgrimages that were taking place in search of sacred cover and the outcome
of the crusades during this time (Petzold, 2017). This era did not only provide one influential style
across the region, but many such as, church architecture, architectural structures, sculptures,
paintings, and decorations; all of which can be considered Romanesque art (Kleiner, 2014). Of the
Romanesque era, each piece of art even from different countries of origin were affected by the
economy, politics, and religious influence or concern, yet regardless each had a unique presence
that represented the Romanesque period. One of the potential biggest influences over the
Romanesque period and its style was largely due to the

Special Education
From the first day a child is born, parents are there to nurture their child, to support them as they
grow and develop. There is a lot to learn about raising a child under normal circumstances, but
when a child has special needs parents must learn this whole new language of medical and special
education terms (Overton, 2005). Parents enter this new world where navigating for the best
interest of their child is riddled with challenges and obstacles that they need to somehow overcome.
This is especially true when parents are dealing with the special educationprogram in their child s
school.

What are these special needs, which qualify a student to be considered for special education?
Firstly, students with challenges in learning have to be considered. In a normal class, there could
students who find it hard to learn because of some reasons. Such students need specialized attention
so that they are not disadvantaged in the learning process.
When writing special education essays, it is also important to address the issue of communication
challenges. These challenges occurs because of poor proficiency in the language being used, thus
causing a communication barrier.
The commonest factor is physical disabilities. Students with disabilities require specialized
education for them to gain knowledge and become productive in the society. These disabilities may
include hearing and sight problems. They may also have deformed limbs, as a result of natural birth
or accidents. Additionally, students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental disorders
require special education.

The Conversion Of The Jews
One of the central themes of Philip Roth s short story The Conversion of the Jews is hypocrisy.
In fact, Ozzie Freedman, who is the main character of the short story, is aware and critical of the
hypocrisy within his religion. He issues its conflicts and contradictions and, thus, is put in
opposition to Rabbi Binder who is conservative in his beliefs (Rabin 17). For instance, Ozzie
issues the chosenness of the Jewish people and wants to know how Rabbi Binder could call the
Jews The Chosen People if the Declaration of Independence claimed all men to be created equal
(Roth 141). In answer, Rabbi Binder illustrates the difference between political equality and
spiritual legitimacy and, hence, does not question the belief that the Jewish

Climate Change Has A Negative Impact On Polar Bears
Climate change has a negative impact on polar bears. This may prove to be a burden to their
existence. Polar bears are some of the world s most majestic animals but their survival is being
threatened because of climate change. Because of this change their habitat is also diminishing.
Historically speaking by the late 1980s and early 1990s, the likelihood that climate warming would
have negative effects on sea ice was gaining recognition. Climate change happens when certain
gasses block heat from escaping the atmosphere. Most scientists agree the cause of this trend is
human expansion of the greenhouse effect. One of the most common gasses and its importance on
this greenhouse effect is methane, a hydrocarbon gas produced both through natural sources and
human activities, including the decomposition of wastes in landfills, agriculture, and especially rice
cultivation, as well as ruminant digestion and manure management associated with domestic
livestock. On a molecule for molecule basis, methane is a far more active greenhouse gas than
carbon dioxide, but also one which is much less abundant in the atmosphere. Over time this
greenhouse effect causes the earth s atmosphere to warm causing some regions to become warmer
than others resulting in changing climates. This change in climate may produce more or less
precipitation depending on the region.
Polar bears need ice to move around so they can easily find food to sustain life. Some areas provide
sea ice year round and in

D Day During The World War II
There are a lot of days throughout the landing on Normandy on June 6th, 1944, to get the
Germans out of Paris, which then lead to pushing them out of France in late August 1944. D day
was a significant day because it helped end World War Two . It was the day that had started the
chain effect to ending World war Two, an example of this is on December 16, 1945, the Battle
of the Bulge. This was when the last of Germany s troops went 50 mile across the Allies defences
creating what is known as a bulge. There are some main targets and effects of d day and some of
those are, it helped the soviets not fight alone against Nazi Germany. It spread the Germans army
thin because they had to face fronts on the East and West side of them, just like in... Show more

But now that Adolf Hitler Germany s chancellor has Poland, Hitler will break that pact in 1941.
This was when Hitler had organized a blitzkrieg on the Soviet Union . That Blitzkrieg was
codenamed Operation Barbarossa. On the day June 22, 1941 Adolf Hitler organized and launched
operation barbarossa, he had set the soldiers to the Eastern side of Russia. This was one of the
largest military operation in history. It concluded more than three million Axis troops, and around
three thousand and five hundred tanks. On the first day the Germans had gone nearly fifty miles
into Russia. The Soviets weren t looking so good they had two hundred fifty thousand men that
were lost when the Germans encircled and either killed or enslaved the Soviet soldiers near the end
of June in Minskin Belarus near Poland. Also around september one hundred eighty thousand were
captured at Smolensk and meanwhile five hundred thousand casualties in the Battle of Kiev. The
Soviets with the non aggression pact broken they looked for the help of the Allies.
Now organizing the Western front was hard that it looked. There was verise obstacles and worries
to overcome. Some of obstacles and struggles are that when President Roosevelt, Winston
Churchill the leader of England at the time had to plan and think about even little things like the
moon. The moon played in this because of the tides. If the tide was to high many of the landing
ships would hit land mines. It also wasn t good if the tide was to

What Is The Similarities Between Arrival And Space Odyssey
astronauts and disciples have nothing in common. However, it is noticeable that each group
contains a betrayer. This supports the religious analogy.
Even more religious symbols can be found. The black hole is surrounded by bright yellow light.
This light orbits the black hole along two different axes which gives it the appearance of two halos.
This gives the black hole a celestial connotation. Dr. Romilly explains that human beings cannot
understand the singularity of a black hole because it lies beyond the horizon, a place humans cannot
reach. In some religions celestial beings, like gods, dwell in heaven, a place normal humans cannot
enter.
Later Cooper enters the black hole and is transported to the Tesseract, a fifth dimensional space
appearing to him as a three dimensional one. Cooper assumes that it was created by a higher
advanced alien race. The Tesseract looks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Kubrick s and Villeneuve s strength is the framing. In Space Odyssey an enormous number of
scenes that show central perspective can be seen. A very strong scene is the one in which David
and Frank are inside the space pod and talking about HAL. This shot indicates a vanishing point in
the center of the frame. Kubrick enhances the depth by dividing the frame in a foreground and
background; David and Frank are in the foreground whereas HAL is in the background (cf. Kargl
134). Kubrick often uses the central perspective to create additional depth. Although the persons
and objects that are filmed by a camera are three dimensional the screen on which the film is shown
is a flat surface. Therefore, Kubrick uses certain perspectives to enhance the three dimensional
effect. Villeneuve on the other hand uses the perspective to guide the audience. A lot of Arrival s
scenes show guiding lines that lead to a vanishing point. Sometimes the camera pans to that
vanishing point. Sometimes he guides the audience towards the object of

Objection To Pascal s Wager Argument
In this paper, I will evaluate blackburn s objection to how he deems Pascal s use of notion
metaphysical ignorance as a problematic starting position to arrive the conclusion of Pascal s Wager
argument. In Metaphysical ignorance , which refers to the idea that Pascal posits in the beginning
of his Wager argument, that we know neither what Godis nor what kinds of attributes and
properties God has. As a result of this knowing, Pascal sets out four options to wager, which is
four possible consequences of belief or disbelief whether God exists or not, by implying us to
choose the one which offers eternal happiness and gains; However, the options are flawed since
Blackburn thinks Pascal can not assume there is an eternal gain or loss especially... Show more

Subsequently, he builds his wager argument by assuming four outcomes on the basis of four
options since we do not know whether God is essentially in existence. He offers four choices: First,
If we believe in God, and God in fact exists, then we will be rewarded by infinite happiness.
Second, If we believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, then I will have no payoff. Third, If
we do not believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, then we will get infinite pain. Forth, If I
do not believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, I will have no payoff too. Pascal is attempt
to justify belief in God is not with an appeal to evince God s existence. But rather, is with an
appeal to our own interest by choosing the one what benefits us. From the four options Pascal
presents, I presume he does not know What attributes God owns since he starts the position of
metaphysical ignorance before framing these options; however, Pascal s set up for wager
indicates he does know something. For instance, he knows God could be either punishing or
rewarding people regarding the decision we wager. Considered from this point, I conclude that
Blackburn develops stronger argument in which he points of the self contradictory nature of Pascal
s position of metaphysical ignorance. Accordingly, I conclude Pascal s wager is a weak argument
in this

How Did Jackie Robinson Show Moral Courage 42: The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything People often choose to either avoid or interact with specific people due to certain factors such as race, skin color, hair color, and much more. This idea is widely known as racism. Many people challenge the idea of racism through displays of moral courage. One key person who challenged racism with moral courage was Jackie Robinson. In their publication, U.S. History in Context, Mother Jones states, [Robinson] the player who broke Major League Baseball s color barrier in 1947 and later used his fame to push for racial equality. Robinson overcame his hot temper in order to become the first integrated african american major league baseball player. Jackie Robinson displayed moral courage ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mother Jones, of U.S. History in Context, talks about what Jackie did as a person near the end of his life. Robinson originally played baseball, not knowing it was a for a bigger purpose, and the bigger purpose is explained by Mother Jones. Mother Jones explains Another magnificent athlete who fought racism while excelling on the playing field was Jackie Robinson. Jackie clearly knew that he was fighting racism however he never knew it was to create integrated sports. Jackie displayed moral courage because Jackie changed the world to make all races allowed to player sports, destroying the idea of racism in many states. Robinson did many things, however his major accomplishment was making the idea of racism cease in many places across the world. Clearly Jackie Robinson displayed moral courage by fighting racism and playing Major League Baseball as the first african american player to do so. Jackie had to constantly avoid resorting to violence; he had to take everyone s abuse, and in order to achieve his overall goal. African Americans would have joined Major League Baseball at some point in time, however Jackie pioneered the progression of this idea which allowed for African Americans to join the League sooner than people initially ... • 3. Analysis of Edgar Allan PoeВґs The Tell-Tale Heart The Tell Tale Heart , written in 1843, is a simultaneous horror and mental story presented in a first person perspective, in which Edgar Allan Poe, the author, portrays that the significant influence of inner guilty and fear on narrator s insane. The author achieves this in the means of figurative languages, symbolism and the plot of the story. Through the whole story, there is no doubt that guilty plays a tremendously crucial role. It is obvious that symbolism is used for many times. To begin with, the evil eye is one of the reasons why the narrator wants to kill the old man. I undid it just so much that a single think ray fell upon the culture eye (page 1)He refers the old man s eyes as evil and vulture like eyes. As we all know, vulture is the type of animals who attack dead animals. He is afraid of the old man s vulture like eyes mainly because he thinks that he will be dead, therefore, he plans to kill the old man. Furthermore, the heart beat symbolizes the narrator s conscience and the guilty over a murder because the old man has never done something wrong. Since the corpse is just under his seat, he is afraid of being found that the old man is killed by him, which causes him to be extremely guilt, therefore, he heard the beat. So, the evil eyes and beating heart can clearly portray the crucial effects of guilty. What s more, the use of figurative languages poses a great amount of influences on present the theme of guilty. Repetition is definitely one of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Cultural Capital And Social Capital Alongside both racist and sexist media constructionism, hackneyed class cliches are equally as pervasive. Pierre Bourdieu coined the phrase cultural capital which is the representation of the cultural knowledge, temperament and disposition that is inherited from generation to generation. Published to the Oxford University Press, Pierre Bordieu explained his theory of cultural capitalas consisting of three elements: cultural capital can exist in three forms: in the embodied state, i.e., in the form of long lasting dispositions of the mind and body; in the objectified state, in the form of cultural goods (pictures, books, dictionaries, instruments, machines, etc.), which are the trace or realization of theories or critiques of these theories, problematics, etc.; and in the institutionalized state, a form of objectification which must be set apart because, as will be seen in the case of educational qualifications, it confers entirely original properties on the cultural capital which it is presumed to guarantee (Bourdieu 1978). Another important facet of Bordieu s theory of cultural capital is a habitus which is a set of dispositions that incline agents to act and react in certain ways particularly, the result of structural conditions, but it simultaneously organizes practices and perceptions. (Bordieu 1978) Noticeably similar to social constructivism, cultural capital is an occurrence that has the capacity to institutionalize harmful stigmatic stereotypes. To further ... • 6. Comparing Sherlock Holmes And The 2009 Film There are many similarities and differences between the literary version of Sherlock Holmes and the film version of him. There have been several different interpretations of Sherlock Holmes in film, however arguably the most well known movie version is the 2009 film. While the 2009 movie does an alright job of adapting Arthur Conan Doyles formula to the big screen, it fails to fully realize the character of Sherlock Holmesand the many mystery stories he has been in. First, Arthur Conan Doyle s version of Sherlock Holmes differs from the 2009 film version of Sherlock Holmes by not having a narrator. One of the largest staples of Doyle s stories was the fact that Dr. Watson was narrating every single story. This unique perspective allows... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arthur Conan Doyle wrote many Sherlock Holmes stories and did so over the course of many years. A large majority of these stories were smaller in scope and focused on a mystery that only pertained to a small area of London, while the 2009 film focuses on a mystery that poses a threat to all of London (IMDb). This immediately shifts the tone of the story to something much darker than usual and could be off putting to potential new fans. While a large scale threat makes for a much more exciting movie, it does not encompass what originally made Arthur Conan Doyle s stories so engaging. His stories were popular because they offered close up views and intimate experiences with mysteries that were believable to the common reader, while the 2009 movie aims to be a Hollywood blockbuster ... Iodp Site 913 Glaciations The Onset of the Northern Hemisphere Glaciation By Christina Ohrazda Student at Stockholm University 28.09.15 Introduction The Northern Hemisphere Glaciation (NHG) is believed to have initiated into large scale, permanent ice sheets ~2.5 Ma, which is almost 31.5 Ma after the initiation of the Antarctica ice sheets. There are many possible causes for the onset of this climate event, some of which we will be reviewing in this essay. In this essay we will look at the cores from IODP and ODP sites 302, Arctic Ocean; 913, Greenland basin; and 907, north of Iceland, in order to identify the characteristics and possible causes of the northern hemisphere glaciations. First we will look at the evidence for the onset of this event and the proxies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, proxies show that the initiation of IRD ~46.25 Ma at site 306, correspond to a 1000 ppm decrease in CO2 gases in the atmosphere (See Figure 5. Note. From Cenozoic ice rafting history of the central Arctic Ocean: Terrigenous sands on the Lomonosov Ridge (St. John 2007)). This correlation between IRD and pCO2 is critical since it leads us to the hypothesis that a decline of pCO2 could have driven the climate in the polar regions over a temperature threshold, which enabled the onset of continental glaciers and ice sheets on the surface of the Arctic Sea (St. John 2008). This is only one of many possible reasons of the NHG onset, where other potential causes suggested for the initiation of the NHG are: events of mountain building; plateau uplift in southern Asia and the American West; Volcanic triggering, resulting in aerosols in the atmosphere; and the closure of Panama Seaway, which would have changed the whole ocean circulation and distribution of cold vs. warm ocean water (St. John et al. ... Andy is a symbol of hope in Shawshank, and it is not only Andy s hope that grows but he also affects the inmate around him. When Andy first tells Red of his dream to go to Mexico, Red says; Hope is a dangerous thing. It will drive a man insane, it has no place here. This shows how Red thought that hope was pointless and futile. This also shows how the prison could take away a man s hope; even turn him bitterly against the idea of it. It is only when Andy eventually makes his escape that the inmates realise how truly powerful hope is. When Red is released from prison and make his way to Mexico, he says; I hope the Pacific is as blue as it is in my dreams. I hope. This use of repetition shows the attitude ... The men of the church need a program where discipleship happens intentionally. The scripture that First Baptist Church uses for it s vision is Matthew 5:13. Since these groups intersect with one another, they cannot be examined separately. The term intersectionality was first coined by Kimberle Crenshaw, being a woman of color she argued that black women have to deal with two types of discrimination, racismand sexism. A combination of two types of discrimination, when studying an individual it hard not to intersect them with different types of discrimination. Crenshaw and other women of color would not have to deal with double discrimination if white women were not discriminated and if black peoplewere not discriminated as well. Privilege then comes into play here, more importantly white privilege, having social advantages just by being born white. A few questions that come to mind are, how does one define one animal being more equal than others? Why is a certain animal favored over the others? Why are there two leaders of the same animal and not two different ones? Why are two pigs picked as the leader? I feel that this book... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This theme in Animal Farm can also be looked as people being equal, but some are more equal than others because sometimes that is how certain people see others. Just because they re different they don t get the same treatment as others. My argument is for everyone and every animal being equal. The leaders Napoleon and Snowball do not take the role in treating the other animals equally. Boxer, the horse works harder than anyone else and is not treated as well as the other animals. He was not first in the rate of intelligence, but he was university respected for his steadiness of character, and tremendous power of work. These are great qualities for a horse, but as it turns out not such great qualities for a revolutionary under Stalin s government. He works harder for others but still is treated unequally. His self motto is I will work harder. Comparing the animals to one another because they re different is like comparing a black human being with a white human being. They may look different from everyone else but does that mean they should be voted out of doing something because of it? No it does not. • 45. The Importance And Influence Of The Romanesque Era Taking a journey through the historical time line of the past, it is clear to see that change occurs. Some periods illustrate more change than others, some of them are of greater influence than the period before it, and then there are those that are not only influential from an art perspective, but also from the perspective of the styles ability to spread across a whole region. A period that specifically displayed this capability was the Romanesque era. The Romanesque era was a period in time which was actually not based on the premise of geographical location or political stance, but more on the premise of the artistry and architectural design during that time (Kleiner, 2014). It is suggested that the influence of the Romanesque artistic styles was largely due to the volume of pilgrimages that were taking place in search of sacred cover and the outcome of the crusades during this time (Petzold, 2017). This era did not only provide one influential style across the region, but many such as, church architecture, architectural structures, sculptures, paintings, and decorations; all of which can be considered Romanesque art (Kleiner, 2014). • 49. Climate Change Has A Negative Impact On Polar Bears Climate change has a negative impact on polar bears. This may prove to be a burden to their existence. Polar bears are some of the world s most majestic animals but their survival is being threatened because of climate change. Because of this change their habitat is also diminishing. Historically speaking by the late 1980s and early 1990s, the likelihood that climate warming would have negative effects on sea ice was gaining recognition. Climate change happens when certain gasses block heat from escaping the atmosphere. Most scientists agree the cause of this trend is human expansion of the greenhouse effect. One of the most common gasses and its importance on this greenhouse effect is methane, a hydrocarbon gas produced both through natural sources and human activities, including the decomposition of wastes in landfills, agriculture, and especially rice cultivation, as well as ruminant digestion and manure management associated with domestic livestock. On a molecule for molecule basis, methane is a far more active greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide, but also one which is much less abundant in the atmosphere. Over time this greenhouse effect causes the earth s atmosphere to warm causing some regions to become warmer than others resulting in changing climates. This change in climate may produce more or less precipitation depending on the region. Polar bears need ice to move around so they can easily find food to sustain life. Some areas provide sea ice year round and in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kubrick enhances the depth by dividing the frame in a foreground and background; David and Frank are in the foreground whereas HAL is in the background (cf. Kargl 134). Kubrick often uses the central perspective to create additional depth. • 52. Objection To Pascal s Wager Argument In this paper, I will evaluate blackburn s objection to how he deems Pascal s use of notion metaphysical ignorance as a problematic starting position to arrive the conclusion of Pascal s Wager argument. In Metaphysical ignorance , which refers to the idea that Pascal posits in the beginning of his Wager argument, that we know neither what Godis nor what kinds of attributes and properties God has. As a result of this knowing, Pascal sets out four options to wager, which is four possible consequences of belief or disbelief whether God exists or not, by implying us to choose the one which offers eternal happiness and gains; However, the options are flawed since Blackburn thinks Pascal can not assume there is an eternal gain or loss especially... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Subsequently, he builds his wager argument by assuming four outcomes on the basis of four options since we do not know whether God is essentially in existence. He offers four choices: First, If we believe in God, and God in fact exists, then we will be rewarded by infinite happiness. Second, If we believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, then I will have no payoff. Third, If we do not believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, then we will get infinite pain. Forth, If I do not believe in God, and God in fact does not exist, I will have no payoff too. Pascal is attempt to justify belief in God is not with an appeal to evince God s existence. But rather, is with an appeal to our own interest by choosing the one what benefits us. From the four options Pascal presents, I presume he does not know What attributes God owns since he starts the position of metaphysical ignorance before framing these options; however, Pascal s set up for wager indicates he does know something. For instance, he knows God could be either punishing or rewarding people regarding the decision we wager. Considered from this point, I conclude that Blackburn develops stronger argument in which he points of the self contradictory nature of Pascal s position of metaphysical ignorance. Accordingly, I conclude Pascal s wager is a weak argument in this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
