Advantages Of E-Education
Introduction:
According to Gail Grimes and Claude Whitmyer(2009); E education is the application of Internet
based approach for the deliverance of learning experiences through primary tools such as e mails, e
meetings, e expeditions and the methodologies of teaching and learning; therefore referred as E
learning. E education takes place multiplicity in formal electronic lecture rooms, on corporate
intranets for on time coaching, audio and video group discussion and in various alternative
technologies mediated learning areas. And the delivery of information occurs through internet,
intranet/extranet, interactive TV, CD ROM, satellite broadcast, audio and videotape (Paulsen, 2002). E

Whereas, online learning has the advantage of learning from distant places and also could cater to
learners from disadvantaged locations with easy transfer of information through internet and mails
which provides a convenient means for the learners who cannot afford to classroom learning, to
communicate and interact with the teachers. However, online learning cannot be a complete
replacement to traditional learning. Users/learners would just lean on these easily available tools and
the rewiring of brain for critical analysis might get effected in a long run and influence further
generations genetically. If in case learners totally rely on the modern educational tools, then the
classroom teaching may not exist. As a result there will be unemployment to the good qualified and
potential teachers. Additionally, there might be the pressure to change the whole educational system,
as the students/ learners get information

Cultural Values In Frankenstein And Edward Scissorhands
Classic texts are valued as their representation of cultural and social concerns are constructed in a way
that continues to resonate with audiences despite their personal context. Cultural values are regarded
by larger society as they reflect the social and political attitudes of the time. Frankenstein by Mary
Shelley, is a gothic science fiction novel written in 1818, which explores the dark side of the human
psyche, a highly valued cultural value, formed from the romanticism era. Shelley explores the role of
man as creator as she forewarns of the impact of scientific advancement. These issues are re examined
in the twenty first century film, Edward Scissorhands . Edward Scissorhands is an appropriation of
Shelley s Frankenstein , directed by Tim Burton in the 1990. Edward Scissorhands also explores the
dark side of human psyche. Burton examines on what makes us human, as well as the perspective of
living in society, being regarded as a monster . The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 gender
bender, sci fi, comedy, horror musical film, directed by Richard O Brien. O Brien pursue in
encouraging to expand our society s social standards, a cultural value from the sexual revolution
throughout the eras of the 1960 s to 1980 s. Shelley s Frankenstein has been adapted by Burton s
Edward Scissorhands as well as O Brien s The Rocky Horror Picture Show . These films have adapted

Langston Hughes and Jesse B. Simple
Lansgton Hughes and Jesse B. Semple
In the early 1940s an African American writer by the name of Langston Hughes, who flourished
during the Harlem Renaissance in New York, had established a character in his short story writings
named Jesse B. Semple. Through these short stories he used this character to represent the black man
of his times. However the question remains, is Jesse B. Semple an accurate representation of the black
man of 1940s? This question can best be answered by looking at the conditions of society during that
time period, what the mind set of the black man in that era and comparing it to the representation that
Hughes created with Jesse B. Semple. Langston Hughes was born on February 1st, 1902 in Joplin,
Missouri. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His characteristics were that he had little formal education, but he had a lot of common sense and
could see the truth in many situations. In many ways Langston Hughes used Semple and his stories to
project the voice of all the black men of that time. Semple touched on issues such as racism,
interracial marriages and any other important issues that showed what it meant to be black during that
period. Hughes took every issue that he felt was necessary in the accurate representation of the Negro
man, and projected through the life of Semple. Hughes also took the name Semple and often called
him, Simple to emphasize how simple his life seemed at a glance, but in fact it was not simple at all.
The events Jesse B. Semple went through in his stories and his opinions and views of what was going
on in the world showed a certain irony that the society of that time had for them. With the stories of
Jesse B. Semple and his, simple life, he felt he had captured the mindset of every black man of the
1940s, because he felt most black men in 1940s were bound to the same characteristics which Semple
had.
Now fully understanding the life and inspirations of Langston Hughes, the society and mind set of the
black man in the 1940s, and the representation that Jesse B. Semple held for the black men of that
time, we can answer the question: Is Jesse B. Semple an accurate representation of the black man of
the 1940s? When

The White City By Claude Mckay Analysis
The White City by Claude McKay illustrates McKay s complicated love hate relationship with the city
where he lives and the world around him. Born to peasant farmers in a small mainly Black village in
Jamaica, McKay learned pride in his African lineage. His first encounter with bigotry and prejudice
against people of color, especially those of African descent, occurred as a teenager in Jamaica s capital
of Kingston. Here he saw discrimination and injustices levied on people of color especially Blacks.
Throughout his life and future travels, he continued to see and despise racism, and he fought against it
using his talent of poetry and the pen. His travels eventually brought him to the United States and, in
particular, to Harlem in New York during an era known as the Harlem Renaissance. The White City
reflects McKay s internal struggle of both disgust and admiration for his hometown of Harlem as it
portrays his resentment towards the white man s world and his love for the life giving essence Harlem
provides to him and other people of color.
Born Festus Claudius McKay in 1889 in the village of Sunny Ville Jamaica, McKay s parents taught
him respect and dignity for his African roots and heritage (Drayton). At seventeen he ventured outside
his village for the first time to his nation s capital of Kingston. In Kingston, he witnessed
discrimination, intolerance, and sometimes even hatred towards people of color and especially those
of African descent. One year later

Physics Of Water Ride
IT
Have you ever wanted to go on a thrilling water ride with balloons and clowns everywhere? Have you
ever wanted to ride a roller coaster that acts as a mode of transportation and takes you from one place
in the park to another? IT has all of those things including loops, zig zags, sudden turns, sudden drops
and more. This ride begins with an inertia jerk as your sailboat bursts out of the tunnel, stops, and then
suddenly starts again, as everybody gets jolted back in their seat. Early on, the boat will experience it s
highest potential energy as it gradually goes up a hill, and comes down instantly into a tiny loop. Even
on the loop, riders will not get wet at all. Also, the boat experiences centripetal force on the loop. A

Multiple loops and multiple hills finally lead to the average speed of the ride. Then, the big moment of
the ride, takes place at the end, and you ll need to buckle up and ride it to find out it what it is because
I am not going to spoil it. You will experience freefall and terminal velocity at this point on the ride.
Terminal velocity is the highest velocity attainable by an object as it falls through air. You will exit out
of this water ride to the left, as you are now on the other side of the park. The best part about this is,
this ride saves you great deal of time if you have plans to walk to the other side of the park because
this gets you there in under 2 minutes. Your legs also won t be overtaxed and you will be ready to go
for your next adventure. The sailboats continue to ride along back to the front of the ride, so others
waiting in line can enjoy it just as much as you did. Throughout the attraction, there will be various
scenes from the actual movie IT. If you have seen the movie, you will be able to relate to these scenes
and feel the legitimacy of this ride. Even if you haven t seen the movie, you will witness these scenes,
and they will send chills down your spine. Also, there is no height restriction for

Constantine The Great And Flavius Valerius Constantinus
PART A
Constantine, more formally known as Constantine the Great or Flavius Valerius Constantinus, was
born on the 27th of February in possibly 280 CE. Constantine was a Roman, and subsequently
Emperor known to be Christian. Flavius Valerius Constantius, whom was an army officer, was his
father, whilst his mother is named Helena thought to possibly be a concubine of his father. His father
is known for being raised to the title of Caesar, becoming known as Constantius Chlorus, granted 3
years of peaceful rule due to the treachery of the previous ruler of Roman Britain. The key influences
for Constantine are firstly his father. Having been able to watch the ascendancy of his father to
Emperor, and follow in his footsteps to become Emperor of Rome himself it is clearly evident that
Constantine s father was a great role model. Constantine also found himself under the tutelage of
Diocletian after his father took him to the East Empire becoming known as a youth amongst the
leaders there.
PART B
Constantine is most notably recognized due to his leadership as Emperor of Rome, and the way in
which he gained power and held it for such a long time. The first thing that he is best known for is that
he was the first of the Roman Emperors to embrace the Christian faith, going against he paradigms
and religion of the time. Before Constantine, Christianity was tolerated, but much persecution ensued.
His shift to Christianity made it legal, and it became the official religion of the

Work Life Conflict
Chapter I: Introduction Work life balance is a concept that supports the efforts of employees to split
their time and energy between work and the other important aspects of their lives. It is a daily effort to
make time for family, friends, community participation, spirituality, personal growth, self care, and
other personal activities, in addition to the demands of the workplace. Work life balance will vary for
each person and will change throughout life. It is a flexible working arrangement that allows both
parents and non parents to avail of working arrangement that provide balance between work and
personal responsibility. Work life balance is assisted by employers who institute policies, procedures,

The studies focused on the occupancy of three roles: parental status, informal caring and paid work. It
showed that 7% of people experienced caring for someone, 50% were parents and 66% were in some
type of paid work. The data for dual roles played by them were as follows; 34% who were both
parents and paid workers, 1% were parents and care takers, and 2% were paid workers and care takers.
2% of the individuals in the survey played all three roles, and 18.7% of the individuals had no role to
play. It shows that only a small proportion of individuals in midlife combined paid work with
consistent care giving or other multiple role configurations. It was found that men and women equally
faced the multiple roles. Women were also likely to hold some of the more intense roles than their
male counter parts. There is a growing recognition by policymakers of the importance of supporting
individuals in juggling work and family life, as reflected in the British government s launch in 2000 of
the Work Life Balance Campaign. This aims to encourage employers to introduce more flexible work
practices in order to facilitate workers reaching a better equilibrium between work and other spheres
of their life (e.g., child or adult caring responsibilities, as well as other interests). Although the number
of companies offering flexible working practices in Britain is growing, it is relatively small compared

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love is about a shepherd who promises everything he could to a
woman so that she would love him and live with him. Come live with me my love, and we will allthe
pleasures prove. The Shepard is lonely and really needs a woman companion and he will give her
anything. He promises that he will make her many things. And I will make thee beds of roses, and A
cap of flowers, and akirtle. He really loves this woman ifhe is willing to handcraft items for her to

for the woman the man is in for a surprise that he wasn t expecting.
In The Nymph s Reply to the Shepherd the Nymph tells the Shepherd what shethinks about all of the

these pretty pleasures might me move to live with theeand be thy love. Proving that there is almost no

Significance Of The Magazine
There are a lot of excellent significant landmarks that can be commemorated by a coin by the colonial
Williamsburg foundation; but here are the four structures that are worthy of being commemorated:
The Bruton Parish Church, the Capitol, the Governor s Palace, and the Magazine. Commemorate
means to honor a certain place or a person. All these structures are important, but the most significant
structure to commemorate is clearly the Magazine. According to my research, the Magazine is the best
choice because it succeeds all of the goals it has to meet, it has a lot of historical significance, it is
relevant to citizens today, and it has a connection to the mission statement The future may learn from
the past. . The paragraphs below will explain ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the Magazine started the Revolutionary War which gave our country independence! The
Revolutionary War started when Lord Dunmore and his British troops stole all the colonists
gunpowder from the Magazine. According to my research, the British also set a spring gun trap and
whenever somebody opened the door, it would activate. Two young men snuck into the Magazine and
tried to steal guns so that they could join The Revolutionary War and fight for their state; even though
they were underage to join the militia. When they opened the door, the spring trap sprung and hurt the
two young men setting off the spark that started the Revolutionary War. The Revolutionary War was
Significant because after we won the war the Declaration of Independence was made and signed. The
Declaration of Independence made us our own state and it let us have our own government. The
Americans were very happy because they didn t want to be told what to do from a king who is lives
over at the other side of the sea! Last but not least the Revolutionary War was a very historical
significant war. Overall the Magazine deserves a commemorative coin to honor it because it gave us

Heroine In The Media
It is unmistakable that heroines personalities could teach girls to stand up to their beliefs and have a
voice, however, they can learn positive qualities from them if super heroines do not appear in the
media as often as male heroes. Film and other TV production companies do not make heroines the
lead because people are not interested in them. The devaluation of heroines has lead to the lack of
heroines shown in the media, which it has not allow girls to see girl power in television, films, books,
and other sources of communication. For the last past decade, there has been releases on films about
heroes, yet not one shows a heroine as the lead. There is Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Captain

The Character Brett Ashley in Ernest Hemingway s The Sun Also Rises
There is a common perception among casual readers who hasn t heard it voiced? that Ernest
Hemingway did not respect women. The purpose of this essay is to examine one work in such a way
as to challenge these heinous assumptions. Hemingway s persona will be left alone. What will be
examined is the role of women, as evidenced by Brett Ashley in The Sun Also Rises, and what, if
anything, it reveals in the way of settling this account of Hemingway as misogynist.
Brett Ashley enjoys a unique position of power in the novel in today s vernacular, she wears the pants

His love is unconditional.
Mike, nor Robert Cohn, nor the former Lord Ashley loved her unconditionally. They had Brett
wrapped in all types of chains. It is against this regressive mind set that Brett fights. They all want to
own her. But, not Jake. And Jake as narrator is Hemingway s nearest relative. Jake s voice is hardly
distinguishable from Hemingway s own. Given that, I d say the author invented an arch type of
modern man in Jake Barnes. Jake is the friend you can count on. He s the guy, who if he were alive
today, would memorize Bly and bang drums in the woods under a full moon. He s sensitive.
Speaking of sensitive, what is the reader to make of Jake s faulty machinery? The feminist in me
screams, That s the only reason Jake acts the way he does, because he s been neutered in war. Excuse
the graphic nature of this, but Jake is still a man with two hands and a tongue. Having children never
enters into the equation. Brett s no Mommy. In other words, I reject the notion that Jake is less a man
for his injury. He is, it fact, a better man.
The Sun Also Rises is a seminal work from a writer at the peak of his skills. Hemingway, like his
narrator, Jake Barnes, does the work of a journalist. The novel serves as a field report for the societal
changes brought on by the Great War. The role of women in the culture was very much on the minds
of thinking people. It was on Hemingway s mind, and he wrote about it eloquently throughout his

I Am My Research Hypothesis
I tested my research hypothesis through my one on one interviews and core questions. I used my core
questions and people skills to conduct the interviews properly. When speaking with each woman I
interviewed, I explained to them that I was asking them questions for a research project. After this, I
read the core questions directly from my iPhone that I wanted to ask the women. I made sure that I
spoke clearly and annunciated each word I spoke so that I would not have to repeat the questions.
After interviewing each woman, I went home and wrote down notes on what each of the women said.
I did not want to take notes in front of the women because I wanted them to know that they had my
undivided attention. When it comes to my values, I am the type of person who never wants to make
someone feel uncomfortable.
Interview Process A The first group I interviewed were women at Greenhouse Church. I attended a
Sunday, 9:00am church service two weeks in a row so that I could become more recognizable to those
around me. After the service, there were a few women standing outside handing out pamphlets. I
decided to interview these women because they seemed involved in their church community. I thought
they would be great candidates for answering my core questions. However, they were the most
difficult group to interview. I was not entirely familiar with the Greenhouse Church environment,
therefore I was not sure how they would react. I spent about 10 12 minutes with each woman I

The Reluctant Fundamentalist By Mohsin Hamid And Lucy By...
Does money makes the world go round? In the obvious sense, yes. Money is the backbone of the
financial systems that enable and regulate the creation, distribution, and consumption of goods and
services. Yet, it is also the foundation of many of our world s inequalities. Namely, it is the basis of
social classes. Through history, the wealthy have always appeared to end up on top. They always seem
to get the upper hand. As a consequence, the upper class often have a certain air of arrogance and/or
ignorance. In the novels The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid and Lucy by Jamaica
Kincaid, the authors address this idea. Both Hamid and Kincaid utilize interactions between wealthy
Americans and immigrants to demonstrate how wealthy American s arrogance or ignorance alienates
non Americans. Whereas Hamid uses Changez primarily focus on the effects of arrogance, Kincaid
uses Lucy as a critical observer of the effects of ignorance.
In Hamid s novel, Changez, a hopeful, educated, upper middle class Pakistani man encounters with
wealthy, entitled Americans causes him to feel isolated and alters his perception of America. Changez
first experiences American s sense of privilege when he visits Greece. Changez s friends easily blow
money on vacationing delights, thinking nothing (Hamid 21) of the cost of their excursions. Changez

Spies During Wwill
There were many uses of technology specialized for spies during WWll. Great tactics and innovation

The pigeon stems from the Rock Pigeon, which is from the bird family Columbidae. The usage of
carrier pigeons as ways of delivering a message dates back to centuries ago. During WWll, pigeons
were dependent on to deliver discreet messages from and to an area. More than 250,000 carrier
pigeons were used in World War II (WWII Carrier Pigeon Finally Delivers Secret Message). For
usage, a pigeon would be equipped with a small capsule fastened to one leg (or to its back if it was
larger) and often released from an aircraft. These pigeons were trained to navigate where to go and
how to come back. According to America in WWII, Over short distances, these birds could approach
60 miles per hour, though 35 to 40 miles was a more typical average cruising speed. Flying is
strenuous, and on a long flight, a bird could lose 2 or 3 ounces about a fifth of its 13 to 15 ounces of
body weight. For this reason, younger birds, one to four years old, were used (Razes). Pigeons were
very beneficiary to WWll and were helpful in carrying messages across the country when it seemed
impossible to carry by word of mouth or very far traveling distance. Along with the advantages came
the disadvantages. The owners faced difficulties such as importing, hiding, feeding, and exercising
them. Also, there was a limitation to distance and direction which could be flown (Rigden

The Great Gatsby
Being provided with amusement or enjoyment is important and is essential for being content in life.
Entertainment in general is fascinating; such as movies, television shows, video clips on YouTube,
music, comics and other ridiculous things that people do in this world, not only entertain us but also
teach concepts and morals either directly or indirectly. Books are either entertaining to some or are
just objects that make life stale and boring, but yet these insignificant objects can provide more
entertainment while also allowing cognitive thinking skills and learning universal truths that teach life
lessons. People have different opinions towards books and how to utilize them for the generation of
today and if reading novels is even relevant for students in the future. Although reading a novel
provides the reader a better understanding of its concepts, it is not necessary or important to read an
entire novel to understand the book. Endings of books are usually there to bring the novel to a close
and deliver a life lesson at the end. All of the concepts and themes are in the body of the book and are
well presented depending on the author. In Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, the American Dream was
the theme that was presented, and according to the story it is unachievable and just an infant fantasy
that America portrays. While reading the story, the characters views on how their interpretation of the
American Dream, is well established in the middle of the story. There

Racism For Dummies
How to deal with Racism for Dummies: AP Lit Edition With an ever growing and diversifying
population, race is a term that people have become more accustomed to. Many would say that as a
society, American citizens have taken steps to subdue and reduce racism. Others may say that the
government itself has adopted institutional policies to prevent racism. If such were to be true,
considering that those actions to fight racism have existed for at least a century, why is one not able to
see that those efforts to fight racism may be ineffective? Society for the past decades has built a
manner in which we assume that racism is wrong. Despite those efforts, hundreds of issues concerning
race continue occurring. Rather than taking perspective that racism is wrong, society should have a
more active focus on the population by providing education on how to respond correctly to issues that

law, literature, arts, and simple morals. Many of those steps that society has taken focuses upon
highlighting the damage that racism causes to both an individual and society, yet, controversial racial
issues occur at an alarming rate. The first recorded major effort to subdue racism was the 14th

Huckleberry Finn Literary Analysis
As Winston Churchill once said, Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same
function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things . This quote could
be taken into context numerous ways, one of them being social criticism. In the two books The
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, social
criticism is clearly an element that both authors reflected on greatly while writing these pieces of
literature. Although both novels may be seen as completely different works, Twain and Fitzgerald use
similar tools to effectively fulfill the purpose of criticizing American society. Through the use of
symbolism, themes, figurative language, diction and character choice, the authors make it evident that
these two novels are written to portray the hypocrisy of middle class America. ... Show more content

In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, many symbols could relate to Twain s criticism on society,
the river and shore being one of them. Throughout the story, Huck and Jim often find themselves
sailing away on the river or sitting on the shore. The river represents freedom for all and the shore
means to conform to the social statuses that are set in place from that specific time period (1880s
American south). Twain shows how the river is a free place for all, and the shore not so much. On the
river, Huck finds himself trusting Jim and creating some sort of friendship with him, something that
was unheard of in the time period. Twain comments on the middle class by saying it s okay that two
people from different racial backgrounds are friends; therefor, race does not matter. In The Great
Gatsby, The Valley of Ashes between the East and West Egg also symbolizes the difference in social

Buck And White Fang Research Paper
Buck and White Fang:
Similarities and Differences
Dogs have a way of finding the people who need them and filling a space we didn t even know we
had. ―Thom Jones. This quote almost perfectly fits Buck from The Call of the Wild and White Fang
from White Fang , both written by Jack London. Buck and White Fang are both alike and different
throughout their stories.
At the beginning of their stories, Buck and White Fang are both alike and different. First, both dogs
are mixed breeds. For example, Buck is half Saint Bernard and half Scottish Sheppard while White
Fang is half husky and half wolf. Since both dogs are half one breed and half the other, this is a
similarity. Second, they are both big and strong with high intelligence and ... Show more content on

First, Buck and White Fang are both sold to cruel masters who both mistreat them. For example, Hal,
Mercedes, and Charles become Buck s new masters and Hal nearly beats Buck to death with a club
while Beauty Smith constantly taunts White Fang to keep fighting, even though he is being killed by
the British bulldog. Since both masters are mean to their dogs, this is a similarity. Second, Buck and
White Fang both help their masters make a lot of money. For instance, Buck saves John Thornton for
drowning, then he wins John Thornton $1,600 by pulling a 1,000 pound sled for 100 feet while White
Fang saves Jack Conroy when his gold mine caves in and helps him strike rich when his paws reveal
gold dust from a vein of gold. Since both dogs help their owns get rich, this is a similarity. Last, Buck
and White Fang live their lives out differently. For example, Buck becomes a leader of a wild wolf
pack and the legendary Ghost Dog while White Fang returns to Jack Conroy after he sets White Fang
but White Fang returns to Jack and becomes his domesticated companion. Since Buck and White Fang
live their lives out differently, this is a difference between the two. In conclusion, Buck and White

Kylie Jenner, famous teen beauty influencer, has several pictures of her online slyly eating a gummy

have trillions of followers on social media; one could only imagine the impact that these people have

Definitional issues: entrepreneurship, micro enterprise and rurality Numerous definition of
entrepreneurship can also be found in the literature. Hisrich and Peters (1998) define entrepreneurship
as the process of creating something new with value by devoting the necessary time effort assuming
the accompanying financial, physic and social risks and receiving the resulting rewards of monetary
and personal satisfaction and independence while Zacharis et al (2000) define entrepreneurship as any
attempt to create a new business enterprise or to expand existing business by an individual, ateam
individuals or an established business . Micro enterprises are typically defined as very small,
informally run businesses, involved in activities other than crop production. In the United States,
Canada and Britain, small scale business is defined according to the number of paid employees and
total annual turnover. In Britain for example, businesses with an annual sales of £2 million or less and
have less than 200 paid employees will be classified as small scale business. In Malaysia, small
enterprise covers all enterprises employing between 5 49 workers; medium scale enterprise employs
between 50 199 workers and large enterprise has more than 200 employees. Micro enterprise employs
less than 5 workers and is normally treated as an informal sector under the Ministry of States and

Gabriel Garcia Marquez s Chronicles of a Death Foretold shows how Machismo drives all male

Even the groups of people who were most likely to be against the killing either supported it or did not

Advantages Of Twinning In Healthcare
Twinning is a concept that compares two similar groups, organizations, or people (Twinning, n.d.). In

Missouri Compromise In The 1800s
From the very beginning of the United States there was disagreement and compromise. From whether
they should revolt against England to who should lead the country. From its onset, the country was
destined for disagreement and compromise as it is governed by a democracy. This system lends itself
to compromise as not everyone can get their way. With compromise there are situations where no one
wins, as the compromise does more harm than good. The Missouri Compromise of 1820 is an
example of both sides believing they got what they wanted but looking back it was a compromise that
benefitted no one. It is crucial to understand and learn from the past to ensure the same mistakes are

Sectionalism was the excessive regard for one s region of the country more so than for the country as a
whole. In the context of the United States this was the regard for either the north or south. This divide
came about as a result of differing lifestyles with the south being a more agriculturally driven place
whereas the north was industrialized. Also included in this divide was the slavery issue, as the north
opposed slavery and the south relied upon it for their survival. The Missouri Compromise heavily
impacted this division between north and south as it pitted the two against each other on an issue that
was their core difference. On top of this issue the Missouri Compromise also created a line that
geographically divided the north and south. The 36 30 parallel was a line that prevented slavery from
crossing north, but it was also seen as a line that divided the two ways of life. Thomas Jefferson wrote
in a letter to Congressman John Holmes his concerns regarding a line dividing the country. In the
letter he wrote ...but this momentous question, like a fire bell in the night, awakened and filled me
with terror. I considered it at once as the knell of the Union. it is hushed indeed for the moment. but
this is a reprieve only, not a final sentence. A geographical line, coinciding with a marked principle,
moral and political, once conceived and held up to the angry passions of men, will never be
obliterated; and every new irritation will mark it deeper and deeper. The fear that Thomas Jefferson
expressed to his friend would ultimately come to fruition as the imaginary line agreed upon to limit
slavery was for the most part the dividing line for Civil War which would occur 40 years

you can download music into your iPod and organize the files. It offers a library of over three million
songs from very diverse genres of music. Others have tried to mimic this concept but have not been
able to create the following that iPod has. An example of these failed ventures is the Sone Connect

songs for a cheaper price than iTunes by adding these retailers the market is growing and becoming
more and more competitive. It can be a safe assumption that Apple s iTunes internet downloadable

past. It is evident that since its emergence into the market this little monster has gobbled up the market
share of digital music gadgets. Apple has been able to directly penetrate the market and enable a quick

immensely. Through historic marches and demonstrations across the United States, women protested
for their equal place in politics and social progress. Despite the fear mongering components used in
achieving these rights, women s rights are still thoroughly debated within society today. Over the last
century, incredible and unreachable goals have been fulfilled for women, such as the right to vote and
a sense of equal state in the Free World, and can only improve in the years to come. July 13, 1848

on this day that the fight for social and political equality among America s women began to develop.
This renowned movement, the Women s Rights Movement, had many goals in which mighty powerful

Comparing Goldilocks And Bill Cleaver s Where The Lilies...
The novel, Where the Lilies Bloom has a striking similarity to the tale of Goldilocks and the Three
Bears. When you take a look at Where the Lilies Bloom, by Vera and Bill Cleaver, the comparison
becomes eminent very quickly. Within the first couple of chapters, the characters in Where the Lilies
Bloom begin to resemble characters in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Kiser Peace, an uneducated
and superstitious man, takes the role of the bear in this story. Mary Call Luther, an intelligent young
girl who has become the head of the household after her father s death, and Romey, Mary Call s 10
year old brother, start to both represent Goldilocks. Goldilocks and the Three Bears is definitely
comparable to Where the Lilies Bloom. This first quote can make it easier to see how these two books
coincide. Romey and Mary Call are outside of Kiser s house when Romey says, It s not latched. You
reckon it d be all right if we just went in (Cleaver 20)? If that s not enough later, Mary Call says, Let s
just step inside a minute, Romey (Cleaver 21). In the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears,
Goldilocks enters the bear s house without their permission. This quote clearly depicts how related
these books are. It is easy to see the resemblance here but there is much more evidence to back this up.

level. I can t describe how much that experience has had an impact on my ability to manage time, my
health, and my success as a student.
If you had something that you loved, something that made you successful, would you want to share it?
I did. I know some awesome athletes in my high school that just needed a little push. They needed a
little more time with a coach, a little more encouragement. I knew I was someone that could do that.
Over the summer, I helped out three young women from my high school with javelin technique and
workout habits they should get into. I met with each of them once or twice a week for practice. Addie
was a very stubborn girl. She wanted to be the best (that includes by beating my high school records).
That is what helped her the most. She would come to practice and then complain the whole time we
ran or did plyometric drills. I thought she was going to quit after the first day, but she didn t. She was
too stubborn to. I m so glad she did because I got to continue to work with her on her fluidity in her
approach and her form. Addie is now headed to Brigham Young University on an athletic scholarship
to throw for them!
Emily met with me only once a week. She is

The Spiritual Society That Is Bound By God
The Beach The spiritual society that is bound by God is assured in knowledge as a centered
community that it occupies an extant purgatory between the natural and the supernatural and the laws
of modernity and eternity. This paradox is embraced by experiencing it and defining it within the
society. For the higher spiritual realms, animism and religious provisions forge together to create a
new weapon to fight against aberrations while refining a reality it no longer perceives as spiritually
centered. The artistic interpretation of such a life free from reality, a life devoid of egocentric and self
absorbed thoughts towards a modern life, may be able to rebuild a new foundation and language for
the spiritual society; for even if the new philosophies that are fabricated are fleeting issues, the artist
still creates a reality where this is perceived and understood. As new theories percolate, the more it
needs the aesthetic rendering, which goal is to reach the aloof in hopes of arranging modernity into a
new meaningful way. The holistic perception of the artistic construct, in which it places emphasis
while consolidating, begins to create a language for the unspoken and give meaning to the ideas
hidden within it. What these ideas mean must still be broached through interpretation and is largely
contingent on the level of reality manifested by the artist. While in the higher spiritual realms the artist
asserts a reality that more or less understands itself, in the lower spiritual

The Decline of Virtue Ethics in the Modern Society and Its Different Forms
The Modern Society
The modern society may be moving forward in terms of scientific and technological advancements yet
as years go by, the development of ethics and morality tends to move backward. Due to our utmost
fascination to material advancements, we tend to forget what truly matters. According to Smith
(2014), the modern society rewards material progress while neglecting moral progress. As such,
people of the modern age disregard moral and intellectual virtues as if they are a nuisance to their
everyday lives. Furthermore, the society prioritizes other affiliations and pursues their own endeavors
without considering the possible consequences that might arise due to their unethical or immoral
practices. In addition, the modern society is heavily influenced by copious ... Show more content on

For instance, we allocate bigger budgets for science research and we give prestigious rewards to
outstanding achievers in science. But society allocates far smaller amounts to advance moral interests
or to reward moral achievers (Smith, 2014). Moreover, the decline of virtue ethics due to the flawed
educational system is explicitly depicted through the immoral practices of the modern youth that they
perceive as something worth bragging about or something that they consider as an achievement. The
modern society also disregards ethics for the reason that they think it is something that is old or
irrelevant for the modern setting. In lieu with the aforementioned statements, the educational system
merely gives importance to the development of the sciences without taking to account the importance
of ethical and intellectual virtues in the overall development of a

Carol Berkin s Revolutionary Mothers
Revolutionary Mothers: Women in the Struggle for America s Independence (2004) written by Carol
Berkin, the book is about the way the women were affected in the Revolutionary War from 1775 to
1783.
Carol Berkin is a professor at both Baruch College, and the Graduate Center of the City University of
New York, teaching American Colonial and Revolutionary History and also Women s History. Berkin
received her B.A. from Barnard College and her M.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University. She is
also the author of various books including First Generations: Women of Colonial America (1996), A
Brilliant Solution: Inventing the American Constitution (2001), and Civil War Wives: The Life and
Times of Angelina Grimke Weld, Varina Howell Davis, and Julia Dent Grant (2009). Berkin s purpose
in writing Revolutionary Mothers was to show how the women were affected. She writes about
Abigail Adams, Betsy Ross, and Molly Pitcher on how the women struggled physically and mentally
to survive during this war. Also how they struggle to be heard by the men as they where just kept and
forgotten in the background of this war, and not given into perspective in what the had to say.
Some of Berkin s arguments were the way the women showed courage in the way they performed
during the Revolutionary War, the roles in women during the war, and also the woman s roles ... Show

She writes how the housewives also served as helpmates to the men. If for any reason the men were
injured and could not perform in the Revolutionary War, these women were expected to step into their
husbands shoes and fulfill their obligations as helpmates when needed to (11). That brought out the
physical strength, courage, mental toughness in the women as they were performing male duties,
exhibiting masculine traits (11). Through all this the gender lines remained intact and women were
still considered smaller than the

How Did The Great Depression Affect Germany
The Great Depression was a horrible time for the U.S,especially Texas. The Great depression was a
time where the U.S became bankrupt and its states. The Great Depression started during the 1929s 42.
In the Great Depression, banks were forced to closed all over the country. By 1933, 11,000 of the
25,000 total banks had closed. With all the banks failing combined with the confidence loss of the
economy, the spending reduced with production which caused the downward spiral of the economy.
The Great Depression did not only affect the U.S it affected Germany and Great Britain. The Great
Depression involved of the Collapse of the World Trade. The US couldn t get its supplies from over
countries because of the the collapse of world trade. Because

Reading Comprehension As An Intermediate Level
Reading Comprehension Jennifer told me that she is able to understand only the basics of English, but
she is not able to understand big/difficult words. She does not like to read and she does not read too
often. Jennifer only reads when she needs to read in school, but she does not read outside school. As
far as I know, she is not doing well in the class and she is been getting F s since she started the school
year. Her tests scores have been very low and one reason it could be that she does not comprehend
everything that she is reading. Due to the low scores, I would also consider her reading
comprehension as an Intermediate level because she understands the basics.
Listening Comprehension Jennifer does not have a good listening comprehension since she does not
understand the lecture. The teacher always needs to give her time during class because she does not
understand all the material. She says that she understands better when she reads than when she is
listening. Again, I would consider that her listening comprehension level is Intermediate.
Informal, Every Day language From my point of view, Jennifer uses more informal language in her
every day life. I think that her academic English vocabulary is not complex. For instance,
Young people that use social media or any other type of activity such as texting, tagging, and
computer games tend to learn what is called the slang language. Many teenagers abbreviate words or
most of the time they make the words shorter.

Abortion Report
Abortion Report
I have chosen for my topic Abortion. I think that it is a topic that is very important in today s society
however it is often dodged or avoided.
Different Presidents say different things and have different stances about it, and often it is had to know
what to think about it. Basically there are two different ways of looking at it: Pro Choice, which takes
the stance of saying that it is the woman s choice if she wants to have an abortion and that it is only
her business. So basically they want it to remain legal. Then there is the other stance of Pro Life which
says that it should not remain legal and that it is just about as bad as cold blooded murder. I happen to
agree with this.
This is what I will be focusing on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of them include:
Suction Abortion Dilation and Curettage (D C) Dilation and Evacuation (D E)
Salt Poisoning (Saline Injection) Hysterotomy Prostaglandin Abortion
There are also many risks and complications caused by having an abortion.
Some of the more widely known one s are:
1. Breast Cancer
2. Complications in future pregnancies, including excessive bleeding, premature delivery, cervical
damage, and sterility.
3. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID).
4. Uterine perforations.
5. Tubal pregnancy.
6. Placenta previa, which is extremely severe, life threatening bleeding in future pregnancies.
7. Retention of placenta
As you can see there are many different factors that contribute to abortion, and many different risks
that you take in having one. I think that abortion will remain a huge topic that s not going to go away
easily. I believe that they should be illegal however through doing this report I have been shown the
other side of the story, the Pro Choice side, and I have began to see there standpoint even though I
might not agree with

Opiate Dependency
Opiate Dependency vs. Opiate Addiction
Today the recent growth of prescription opioid painkillers has made opiate use far more domesticated
and widespread than ever before. Even though heroin use has declined, the use of prescription opiates
has increased. The use of prescription opiates for people who are dependent on the drugs for pain
reduction has lead to an increase in abuse. When a family member or friend begins taking the drugs,
not because they need them, but because they want to feeling, it becomes an addiction. Even though
an addict is dependent on opiates, a person who is opiate dependent is different because of the
psychological, physical, and financial effects. An addict has very different psychological behaviors, ...

An opiate dependent person does not have the inability to think clearly and adapt easily into a life
without the opiates. When an addict is presented with the challenge of stopping the use of opiates, the
brain needs it more than ever before. Even long after the withdrawal symptoms are gone; an addict
must deal with post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS). The syndrome lasts from six to eighteen
months after the last use. It has importance to the recovering addict s ability to benefit from recovery,
treatment, function effectively on the job, interact with family and friends, and regain emotional
health. When a person becomes an addict or even dependent for a prolonged period of time, treatment
is necessary. Though there are a variety of different ways that each person can be treated. Usually a
person who is dependent is gradually taken off the opiates, by a process known as dose reduction.
Subsequently a dependent person may also have some type of therapy to help alleviate the pain at the
same time as the dose reduction. On the other hand for an addict, things are different because they
must stop using the opiates all together. Today there are many medications such as methadone,
suboxone, or subutex that doctors use to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Similarly the process
of dose reduction is used in this case as well. Most addicts must also enter a program like in patient or
intensive out patient rehab, where they must learn to cope with problems

Phoenix Jackson In The Worn Path By Eudora Welty
Eudora Welty uses partial third person to evoke sympathy from the reader for Phoenix Jackson by
revealing her thoughts in the conversations she has with herself. In these conversations, readers get a
glimpse of her deteriorating mental clarity and health that comes with age. Her growing senility can be
seen when she sees the scarecrow as a ghost. She tells the scarecrow, who d you be the ghost of? For I
have heard of nary death close by (Welty235). Readers are drawn into Phoenix s hardship through
statements like, it was my memory had left me. there I sat and forgot why I had made the trip (Welty
239). In everyday life, one can both sympathize and relate to her hardships, struggles, and triumphs. In
The Worn Path , Eudora Welty describes Phoenix Jackson in a such a manner, the reader feels as if
Phoenix is right in front of him/her; this can seen in the visual images of skin having numberless
branching wrinkles as though a whole tree stood in the middle of her forehead , or she is very old and
small (Welty233). My favorite description of Phoenix is she walked slowly in the dark pine ... Show

Even more shocking is his concern over the loss of his property, rather than the murder of his wife. He
thinks Old Scratch has done him a favor by killing her. This is shown when Irving writes he consoled
himself for the loss of his property, with the loss of his wife, for he was a man of fortitude. He even
felt something like gratitude toward the black woodman. who, he considered had done him a favor (e
text 662). Irving writes, he accumulated bonds and mortgages; gradually squeezed his customers
closer and closer; and sent them at length. Dry as a sponge from his door (e text 664). This statement
accurately portrays Tom Walker as a greedy man with no conscience, a man who would extort bonds,
foreclose mortgages, and drive the merchants to bankruptcy (e text

However, online learning cannot be a complete replacement to traditional learning. Users/learners would just lean on these easily available tools and the rewiring of brain for critical analysis might get effected in a long run and influence further generations genetically. If in case learners totally rely on the modern educational tools, then the classroom teaching may not exist. As a result there will be unemployment to the good qualified and potential teachers. Semple In the early 1940s an African American writer by the name of Langston Hughes, who flourished during the Harlem Renaissance in New York, had established a character in his short story writings named Jesse B. Semple. Through these short stories he used this character to represent the black man of his times. However the question remains, is Jesse B. Semple an accurate representation of the black man of 1940s? This question can best be answered by looking at the conditions of society during that time period, what the mind set of the black man in that era and comparing it to the representation that Hughes created with Jesse B. Semple. Langston Hughes was born on February 1st, 1902 in Joplin, Missouri. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His characteristics were that he had little formal education, but he had a lot of common sense and could see the truth in many situations. In many ways Langston Hughes used Semple and his stories to project the voice of all the black men of that time. Semple touched on issues such as racism, interracial marriages and any other important issues that showed what it meant to be black during that period. Hughes took every issue that he felt was necessary in the accurate representation of the Negro man, and projected through the life of Semple. Hughes also took the name Semple and often called him, Simple to emphasize how simple his life seemed at a glance, but in fact it was not simple at all. The events Jesse B. Semple went through in his stories and his opinions and views of what was going on in the world showed a certain irony that the society of that time had for them. With the stories of Jesse B. Semple and his, simple life, he felt he had captured the mindset of every black man of the 1940s, because he felt most black men in 1940s were bound to the same characteristics which Semple had. Now fully understanding the life and inspirations of Langston Hughes, the society and mind set of the black man in the 1940s, and the representation that Jesse B. Semple held for the black men of that time, we can answer the question: Is Jesse B. Semple an accurate representation of the black man of the 1940s? When ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The White City By Claude Mckay Analysis The White City by Claude McKay illustrates McKay s complicated love hate relationship with the city where he lives and the world around him. Born to peasant farmers in a small mainly Black village in Jamaica, McKay learned pride in his African lineage. His first encounter with bigotry and prejudice against people of color, especially those of African descent, occurred as a teenager in Jamaica s capital of Kingston. Here he saw discrimination and injustices levied on people of color especially Blacks. Throughout his life and future travels, he continued to see and despise racism, and he fought against it using his talent of poetry and the pen. His travels eventually brought him to the United States and, in particular, to Harlem in New York during an era known as the Harlem Renaissance. The White City reflects McKay s internal struggle of both disgust and admiration for his hometown of Harlem as it portrays his resentment towards the white man s world and his love for the life giving essence Harlem provides to him and other people of color. Born Festus Claudius McKay in 1889 in the village of Sunny Ville Jamaica, McKay s parents taught him respect and dignity for his African roots and heritage (Drayton). At seventeen he ventured outside his village for the first time to his nation s capital of Kingston. In Kingston, he witnessed discrimination, intolerance, and sometimes even hatred towards people of color and especially those of African descent. One year later ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Constantine The Great And Flavius Valerius Constantinus PART A Constantine, more formally known as Constantine the Great or Flavius Valerius Constantinus, was born on the 27th of February in possibly 280 CE. Constantine was a Roman, and subsequently Emperor known to be Christian. Flavius Valerius Constantius, whom was an army officer, was his father, whilst his mother is named Helena thought to possibly be a concubine of his father. His father is known for being raised to the title of Caesar, becoming known as Constantius Chlorus, granted 3 years of peaceful rule due to the treachery of the previous ruler of Roman Britain. The key influences for Constantine are firstly his father. Having been able to watch the ascendancy of his father to Emperor, and follow in his footsteps to become Emperor of Rome himself it is clearly evident that Constantine s father was a great role model. Constantine also found himself under the tutelage of Diocletian after his father took him to the East Empire becoming known as a youth amongst the leaders there. PART B Constantine is most notably recognized due to his leadership as Emperor of Rome, and the way in which he gained power and held it for such a long time. The first thing that he is best known for is that he was the first of the Roman Emperors to embrace the Christian faith, going against he paradigms and religion of the time. Given that, I d say the author invented an arch type of modern man in Jake Barnes. Jake is the friend you can count on. He s the guy, who if he were alive today, would memorize Bly and bang drums in the woods under a full moon. He s sensitive. In other words, I reject the notion that Jake is less a man for his injury. He is, it fact, a better man. The Sun Also Rises is a seminal work from a writer at the peak of his skills. Hemingway, like his narrator, Jake Barnes, does the work of a journalist. The novel serves as a field report for the societal changes brought on by the Great War. Money is the backbone of the financial systems that enable and regulate the creation, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. Yet, it is also the foundation of many of our world s inequalities. Namely, it is the basis of social classes. Through history, the wealthy have always appeared to end up on top. They always seem to get the upper hand. As a consequence, the upper class often have a certain air of arrogance and/or ignorance. In the novels The Reluctant Fundamentalist by Mohsin Hamid and Lucy by Jamaica Kincaid, the authors address this idea. Both Hamid and Kincaid utilize interactions between wealthy Americans and immigrants to demonstrate how wealthy American s arrogance or ignorance alienates non Americans. Whereas Hamid uses Changez primarily focus on the effects of arrogance, Kincaid uses Lucy as a critical observer of the effects of ignorance. In Hamid s novel, Changez, a hopeful, educated, upper middle class Pakistani man encounters with wealthy, entitled Americans causes him to feel isolated and alters his perception of America. More than 250,000 carrier pigeons were used in World War II (WWII Carrier Pigeon Finally Delivers Secret Message). For usage, a pigeon would be equipped with a small capsule fastened to one leg (or to its back if it was larger) and often released from an aircraft. These pigeons were trained to navigate where to go and how to come back. According to America in WWII, Over short distances, these birds could approach 60 miles per hour, though 35 to 40 miles was a more typical average cruising speed. Entertainment in general is fascinating; such as movies, television shows, video clips on YouTube, music, comics and other ridiculous things that people do in this world, not only entertain us but also teach concepts and morals either directly or indirectly. Books are either entertaining to some or are just objects that make life stale and boring, but yet these insignificant objects can provide more entertainment while also allowing cognitive thinking skills and learning universal truths that teach life lessons. People have different opinions towards books and how to utilize them for the generation of today and if reading novels is even relevant for students in the future. Although reading a novel provides the reader a better understanding of its concepts, it is not necessary or important to read an entire novel to understand the book. Endings of books are usually there to bring the novel to a close and deliver a life lesson at the end. All of the concepts and themes are in the body of the book and are well presented depending on the author. In Fitzgerald s The Great Gatsby, the American Dream was the theme that was presented, and according to the story it is unachievable and just an infant fantasy that America portrays. • 19. Racism For Dummies How to deal with Racism for Dummies: AP Lit Edition With an ever growing and diversifying population, race is a term that people have become more accustomed to. Many would say that as a society, American citizens have taken steps to subdue and reduce racism. Others may say that the government itself has adopted institutional policies to prevent racism. If such were to be true, considering that those actions to fight racism have existed for at least a century, why is one not able to see that those efforts to fight racism may be ineffective? Society for the past decades has built a manner in which we assume that racism is wrong. Despite those efforts, hundreds of issues concerning race continue occurring. For decades, the racism was viewed along a motif that it is wrongful. It is present in law, literature, arts, and simple morals. Many of those steps that society has taken focuses upon highlighting the damage that racism causes to both an individual and society, yet, controversial racial issues occur at an alarming rate. The first recorded major effort to subdue racism was the 14th amendment, being approximately 150 years. Since then, this direction has integrated into society in which people are taught that treating people differently according to race is wrongful. • 20. Huckleberry Finn Literary Analysis As Winston Churchill once said, Criticism may not be agreeable, but it is necessary. It fulfils the same function as pain in the human body. It calls attention to an unhealthy state of things . This quote could be taken into context numerous ways, one of them being social criticism. In the two books The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, social criticism is clearly an element that both authors reflected on greatly while writing these pieces of literature. Although both novels may be seen as completely different works, Twain and Fitzgerald use similar tools to effectively fulfill the purpose of criticizing American society. Through the use of symbolism, themes, figurative language, diction and character choice, the authors make it evident that these two novels are written to portray the hypocrisy of middle class America. ... Throughout the story, Huck and Jim often find themselves sailing away on the river or sitting on the shore. Twain shows how the river is a free place for all, and the shore not so much. On the river, Huck finds himself trusting Jim and creating some sort of friendship with him, something that was unheard of in the time period. Twain comments on the middle class by saying it s okay that two people from different racial backgrounds are friends; therefor, race does not matter. This divide came about as a result of differing lifestyles with the south being a more agriculturally driven place whereas the north was industrialized. Also included in this divide was the slavery issue, as the north opposed slavery and the south relied upon it for their survival. The Missouri Compromise heavily impacted this division between north and south as it pitted the two against each other on an issue that was their core difference. On top of this issue the Missouri Compromise also created a line that geographically divided the north and south. The 36 30 parallel was a line that prevented slavery from crossing north, but it was also seen as a line that divided the two ways of life. Schools should convert to year round schooling due to the negative effects of the long summer break. With the year round schooling schedule, students are able to have better focus when coming back to school and remember information learned from the past school year. With multiple breaks throughout the year instead of a multiple month long summer vacation, it offers more constant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Comparing Goldilocks And Bill Cleaver s Where The Lilies... The novel, Where the Lilies Bloom has a striking similarity to the tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. When you take a look at Where the Lilies Bloom, by Vera and Bill Cleaver, the comparison becomes eminent very quickly. Within the first couple of chapters, the characters in Where the Lilies Bloom begin to resemble characters in Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Kiser Peace, an uneducated and superstitious man, takes the role of the bear in this story. Mary Call Luther, an intelligent young girl who has become the head of the household after her father s death, and Romey, Mary Call s 10 year old brother, start to both represent Goldilocks. Goldilocks and the Three Bears is definitely comparable to Where the Lilies Bloom. This first quote can make it easier to see how these two books coincide. Romey and Mary Call are outside of Kiser s house when Romey says, It s not latched. You reckon it d be all right if we just went in (Cleaver 20)? If that s not enough later, Mary Call says, Let s just step inside a minute, Romey (Cleaver 21). In the story Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Goldilocks enters the bear s house without their permission. This quote clearly depicts how related these books are. It is easy to see the resemblance here but there is much more evidence to back this up. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Romey and Mary Call are inside of Kisers house when Mary Call tells us, He didn t put any amount on it, just listed things we took from the basement: a ham, four frozen chickens, four pounds of frozen butter, two quarts of honey, a peck of red yams (Cleaver 35). In Goldilocks and the Three Bears, while Goldilocks is in the house she steals some porridge. This certainly illustrates Romey and Mary Call stealing food from Kiser Peace s house, like Goldilocks did from the bears. Without a doubt, these books show a lot of ... • 40. Extracurricular Experience In High School Did you know that having an extracurricular hobby can help high school and college students in academics? Things such as being engaged in an orchestra, or a club on campus are common; my hobby has been athletics. I have excelled in athletics all my life and decided to take it to the college level. I can t describe how much that experience has had an impact on my ability to manage time, my health, and my success as a student. If you had something that you loved, something that made you successful, would you want to share it? I did. I know some awesome athletes in my high school that just needed a little push. They needed a little more time with a coach, a little more encouragement. I knew I was someone that could do that. Over the summer, I helped out three young women from my high school with javelin technique and workout habits they should get into. I met with each of them once or twice a week for practice. Addie was a very stubborn girl. She wanted to be the best (that includes by beating my high school records). That is what helped her the most. She would come to practice and then complain the whole time we ran or did plyometric drills. I thought she was going to quit after the first day, but she didn t. She was too stubborn to. I m so glad she did because I got to continue to work with her on her fluidity in her approach and her form. Addie is now headed to Brigham Young University on an athletic scholarship to throw for them! Emily met with me only once a week. She is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Spiritual Society That Is Bound By God The Beach The spiritual society that is bound by God is assured in knowledge as a centered community that it occupies an extant purgatory between the natural and the supernatural and the laws of modernity and eternity. This paradox is embraced by experiencing it and defining it within the society. For the higher spiritual realms, animism and religious provisions forge together to create a new weapon to fight against aberrations while refining a reality it no longer perceives as spiritually centered. The artistic interpretation of such a life free from reality, a life devoid of egocentric and self absorbed thoughts towards a modern life, may be able to rebuild a new foundation and language for the spiritual society; for even if the new philosophies that are fabricated are fleeting issues, the artist still creates a reality where this is perceived and understood. As new theories percolate, the more it needs the aesthetic rendering, which goal is to reach the aloof in hopes of arranging modernity into a new meaningful way. The holistic perception of the artistic construct, in which it places emphasis while consolidating, begins to create a language for the unspoken and give meaning to the ideas hidden within it. What these ideas mean must still be broached through interpretation and is largely contingent on the level of reality manifested by the artist. While in the higher spiritual realms the artist asserts a reality that more or less understands itself, in the lower spiritual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Decline Of Virtue Ethics Achieving a Decent Society See The Decline of Virtue Ethics in the Modern Society and Its Different Forms The Modern Society The modern society may be moving forward in terms of scientific and technological advancements yet as years go by, the development of ethics and morality tends to move backward. Due to our utmost fascination to material advancements, we tend to forget what truly matters. According to Smith (2014), the modern society rewards material progress while neglecting moral progress. As such, people of the modern age disregard moral and intellectual virtues as if they are a nuisance to their everyday lives. Furthermore, the society prioritizes other affiliations and pursues their own endeavors without considering the possible consequences that might arise due to their unethical or immoral practices. In addition, the modern society is heavily influenced by copious ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, we allocate bigger budgets for science research and we give prestigious rewards to outstanding achievers in science. But society allocates far smaller amounts to advance moral interests or to reward moral achievers (Smith, 2014). Moreover, the decline of virtue ethics due to the flawed educational system is explicitly depicted through the immoral practices of the modern youth that they perceive as something worth bragging about or something that they consider as an achievement. The modern society also disregards ethics for the reason that they think it is something that is old or irrelevant for the modern setting. In lieu with the aforementioned statements, the educational system merely gives importance to the development of the sciences without taking to account the importance of ethical and intellectual virtues in the overall development of a ... Berkin s purpose in writing Revolutionary Mothers was to show how the women were affected. She writes about Abigail Adams, Betsy Ross, and Molly Pitcher on how the women struggled physically and mentally to survive during this war. Also how they struggle to be heard by the men as they where just kept and forgotten in the background of this war, and not given into perspective in what the had to say. • 45. Reading Comprehension As An Intermediate Level Reading Comprehension Jennifer told me that she is able to understand only the basics of English, but she is not able to understand big/difficult words. She does not like to read and she does not read too often. Jennifer only reads when she needs to read in school, but she does not read outside school. As far as I know, she is not doing well in the class and she is been getting F s since she started the school year. Her tests scores have been very low and one reason it could be that she does not comprehend everything that she is reading. Due to the low scores, I would also consider her reading comprehension as an Intermediate level because she understands the basics. Listening Comprehension Jennifer does not have a good listening comprehension since she does not understand the lecture. The teacher always needs to give her time during class because she does not understand all the material. She says that she understands better when she reads than when she is listening. Again, I would consider that her listening comprehension level is Intermediate. Informal, Every Day language From my point of view, Jennifer uses more informal language in her every day life. I think that her academic English vocabulary is not complex. For instance, Young people that use social media or any other type of activity such as texting, tagging, and computer games tend to learn what is called the slang language. Many teenagers abbreviate words or most of the time they make the words shorter. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Different Presidents say different things and have different stances about it, and often it is had to know what to think about it. Basically there are two different ways of looking at it: Pro Choice, which takes the stance of saying that it is the woman s choice if she wants to have an abortion and that it is only her business. So basically they want it to remain legal. Then there is the other stance of Pro Life which says that it should not remain legal and that it is just about as bad as cold blooded murder. Even though heroin use has declined, the use of prescription opiates has increased. The use of prescription opiates for people who are dependent on the drugs for pain reduction has lead to an increase in abuse. When a family member or friend begins taking the drugs, not because they need them, but because they want to feeling, it becomes an addiction. An opiate dependent person does not have the inability to think clearly and adapt easily into a life without the opiates. When an addict is presented with the challenge of stopping the use of opiates, the brain needs it more than ever before. Even long after the withdrawal symptoms are gone; an addict must deal with post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS). The syndrome lasts from six to eighteen months after the last use. It has importance to the recovering addict s ability to benefit from recovery, treatment, function effectively on the job, interact with family and friends, and regain emotional health. When a person becomes an addict or even dependent for a prolonged period of time, treatment is necessary. Though there are a variety of different ways that each person can be treated. Usually a person who is dependent is gradually taken off the opiates, by a process known as dose reduction. Subsequently a dependent person may also have some type of therapy to help alleviate the pain at the same time as the dose reduction. On the other hand for an addict, things are different because they must stop using the opiates all together. Today there are many medications such as methadone, suboxone, or subutex that doctors use to help ease the symptoms of withdrawal. Similarly the process of dose reduction is used in this case as well. • 49. Phoenix Jackson In The Worn Path By Eudora Welty Eudora Welty uses partial third person to evoke sympathy from the reader for Phoenix Jackson by revealing her thoughts in the conversations she has with herself. In these conversations, readers get a glimpse of her deteriorating mental clarity and health that comes with age. Her growing senility can be seen when she sees the scarecrow as a ghost. She tells the scarecrow, who d you be the ghost of? For I have heard of nary death close by (Welty235). Readers are drawn into Phoenix s hardship through statements like, it was my memory had left me. there I sat and forgot why I had made the trip (Welty 239). In everyday life, one can both sympathize and relate to her hardships, struggles, and triumphs. In The Worn Path , Eudora Welty describes Phoenix Jackson in a such a manner, the reader feels as if Phoenix is right in front of him/her; this can seen in the visual images of skin having numberless branching wrinkles as though a whole tree stood in the middle of her forehead , or she is very old and small (Welty233).
