Prostitution Vs Prostitution
By saying the word prostitution most people will assign it with a negative connotation, even though
prostitution has many sides: some that we don t think about. One policy for how we should deal with
prostitution won t work for every country let alone every state, but it is something we need to discuss.
Here are two very different narratives of two women, not that these two accounts can generalize for
all, but we can see the spectrum in a better light. I had no idea that I was being tricked . . . I was
clueless. In Beijing, when I asked the madam for money, she told me to let this man take me to dinner
. . . I didn t even speak Mandarin. He took me to a hotel. I had never even used an elevator before in
my life. I only realized what was going on once I saw the bed in the room . . . The second time, they
put something into my vagina and made me pretend to be a virgin. Afterwards, it felt all rotten inside.
I had to go to the hospital, it was all stinky. The third time I tried to run away, but they caught me. I
had to continue tricking clients [into thinking I was a virgin]. But afterwards I would always bleed
down there. [Later] I ran away . . . and slept in the forest for two or three days . . . That whole time
they would get in touch with my parents and say that everything was fine . . . The madam knew my
mom (58 Boitton). We can go from an extremely horrific account to one where the ladies truthfully
decided to join the profession, love it then have a normal life.

Speculative Desires and an Unchanging Western Hostility
The article US Policy Toward Political Islam by Stephen Zunes is a thoroughly researched topic. His
depictions of a greedy, judgmental America are accurate and to the point. While there is a good chunk
of useful suggestions that may have created less hostility from our Eastern counterparts, it is not
logical or possible to say that following these sanctions out would have changed the outcome of the
last ten years. What can be said of these ideas, is that following a more honest approach to politics
through US policies would have given America a much needed transparency. Many of the extremist
groups are founded on the hatred of American downfalls such as our tendency to overtake their lands
by military force in order to exploit the lands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This has led to the extremist groups attack of American policies and ideals. While it was necessary for
our involvement in the first World War, it is not necessary now. The Palestinians living in East
Jerusalem are living in horrible conditions at the hands of their Israeli oppressors. In this case, not
taking a stand would at the very least strain our relationship with Israel, but improve our relations with
Islamic countries of the Middle East.
While there are a host of options laid out by Zunes in his article to directly affect our policies abroad,
we must consider teaching tolerance at home. Children should be required to attend ethnicity/cultural
sensitivity courses in elementary school. Colleges should require all freshman to take a more advanced
study of global cultures. These classes would expose the world s top religions, compare them with our
American values, and explain why different is not bad. If schools took a more direct approach to
prejudices and just plain wrong information, as nation, we could create children devoid of ignorant
opinions. Perhaps had this course been taken years ago, Miss. Teen USA could have answered the
question regarding why American children cannot read maps. While it is impossible to create a
completely aware and culturally sensitive generation, we can eliminate a huge amount of misplaced ill
will towards those who come from different cultures and religions. It is possible to make the outcomes
possibilities, but we will never

Facial Stereotypes
There are mathematical equations, such as the golden ratio, which can be used to supposedly create
the ideal human body. This proportion was used by Da Vinci to draw the perfect male body. An
individual is said to have a beautiful face when it has a ratio of 1.6180339, or approximately 1.62.
Facial symmetry can be measured by dividing the length of a face by the width of the widest part of
the face; the closer quotient is 1.62 the more beautiful a face is according to the golden ratio. The
golden ratio can also be used on various other parts of the body including; arm length, and height.
Facial characteristics also play a role in determining an individual s attractiveness. The color
smoothness of an individuals skin has an impact on their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout history males have sought after muscularity, leanness, and youthfulness. During the 1900
s, the ideal body type for a male was thin and athletic. These characteristics have become much more
dramatic over the last few decades. The hyper masculine images portrayed by celebrities such as,
Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Mark Wahlberg, and Gerard Butler have lead to men s quest for
unrealistic physiques. Other characteristics such as, height, masculinity, and assertiveness are also
characteristics of the ideal

Analysis Of Why Millennials CanT Grow Up
The Millennial Generation is earning 20 percent less than the Generation X and the Baby Boomers.
Psychotherapist at NYU (according to the university s website), Brooke Donatone argues in her
article, Why Millennials Can t Grow Up that millennials experience extended adolescence that delays
adulthood (Donatone 1). The author believes that the reasons for that happening are parents by their
helicopter parenting and the economy because there are less high paying jobs that allow millennials to
be financially independent. Throughout the article, Donatone explains that there is evidence on how it
is not millennials fault that they are experiencing delayed adulthood. Therefore, it is safe to assume
that her intended audience are the parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His article also contrasts Donatone s second flaw of unprofessional tone because he continuously stays
professional and mindful of his audience that comes from world of business professionals. Donatone
proposes that the reason for millennials struggles with adulthood, like working, dealing with people or
even doing laundry is caused by helicopter parenting; however, she uses Amy, a girl that comes from a
family with moderate wealth, to wrongly generalize that all millennials come from similar
background. It is especially inappropriate and unfair to generalize about this topic because she talks
about such a big and diverse group that is millennial generation, and not everyone comes from the
same background. Donatone shows that Amy comes from middle class family when she says She
finally had to dump the part time job, was still unable to do laundry, and often stayed up until 2 a.m. to
complete her homework because she didn t know how to manage her time without her parents ...
(Donatone 1). In order for someone to be able to drop their job they need someone that can help with
their financial needs and wants, therefore it is safe to assume that Amy comes from a family with
moderate wealth that is able to support those needs and wants. The author s moment when she
generalizes that all millennials are like Amy and come from similar background is when she states It s
easy to generalize an entire population by its

Atticus Finch In To Kill A Mockingbird By Harper Lee
Atticus is a complex character, a widower, Scout and Jem s father, whoś around 50 years old, and a
respected lawyer in Maycomb, Alabama. He is a very responsible and loving father, who treats all
people equally, who serves as the moral conscience of Maycomb. He is very generous and
understanding, strict, but fair, to Scout and Jem. He answers all of their questions honestly, provide
them with good advice and treated them like an adults because he wanted them to follow his
examples. Atticus Finch embodies everything that a father should be. Although Scout is the narrator,
Atticus emerges as the main character. Atticus is the central character, who demonstrates generosity,
courage, and wiseness to both the community of Maycomb and to his children.
The first trait that effectively describe Atticus is that his generosity. We can see that he is willing to do
legal work for Walter Cunningham even though Cunningham can really pay with the money, he said

Scout asked Atticus,¨Why does he pay you like that¨? ¨Because thatś the only way he can pay me. He
has no money,¨ said Atticus(Lee 26, 27).
The next example that demonstrates Atticus generosity is the fact that he get delighted in helping
people see a situation in a new light. Although he know that if he defend Tom Robinson, people would
go against him and things will get ugly but he still accepted to defend him. Furthermore, the reason he
defend Tom Robinson is because he said, ¨if I didn´t I couldn´t hold up my head in town, I couldn t
represent this county in the legislature, I couldn t even tell you or Jem not do something again¨(Lee

Pacific Ocean Impact On Human Life
Oceanic Impacts Oceans are very important to humans in many ways, the oceans impact everybody s
life. The oceans provide many wonderful features to this planet. Some of these characteristics involve
resources, such examples of distinctive attributes involve shelter for many living creatures, and plenty
of resources for many living things on land. One of the living creatures on land involves humans. One,
must not forget that the oceans cover a very large area of this planet, this means that one can easily
make the assumption that the entire population on this planet is completely surrounded by oceans.

a large impact on local and global economies. The West Coast jurisdictions form a megaregion with a

Shiva s Iconography
As the most complex deity within the Hindu pantheon, Shiva is an extraordinarily important god.
Although equal to Vishnu and Brahman, Shiva is engulfed in an eternal paradox as a result of his
diverse characteristics. Furthermore, Shiva represents a variety of spiritual and domestic aspects of
Hindu culture. Importantly, Shiva embodies the energy of the universe as both creator and destroyer;
he is the ultimate construction of non duality. Further, Shiva s power and significance demonstrates
philosophical teachings as to the way in which certain aspects of Hindu life are constructed. To
illustrate, the iconography of Shiva incorporates identifying characteristics that are necessary to
understanding his relevance as a god, Shiva establishes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it may appear as a paradox for one deity to be god of both creation and destruction. The key
to understanding this complex aspect of Shiva s power relies on the Hindu concept of the impossibility
of annihilation. The concept of the impossibility of annihilation suggests that when there is an absence
of non being and annihilation, all that is left is the transformation of states. This transformative energy
is regarded as ceaseless and infinite (Smith, 2). Death or destruction can be viewed as a result of a
transformational process after life, whereby life is the product of creation. To explain, death is a
rearrangement of indestructible atoms, and a gateway from one court of life to another. To destroy
therefore, is to practically to recreate, and Death stands at the gates of life (Martin, 167). In this sense,
all that lives within the realms of time are regarded as being in a state of constant transition and
change from life to death thus, the natural circle of life. When something is destroyed, it is recreated
with a new or different form. It is suggested that in efforts of purification, at the end of each era, Shiva
destroys the universe by fire (Doniger, 83). The universe must be destroyed in order for it to be
purified and renewed. Consequently, after the universe is destroyed, new life will is created.
Therefore, it is reasonable that Shiva be regarded as the

Isis And Many Terrorist Groups

Research Paper ISIS and many terrorist groups have been recently attacking at will throughout the
entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently.
One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war with terrorist
groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is to not go to war with
terrorist groups or ISIS just yet. Within the past couple of years, the terrorist group of ISIS has made
them well known and kept the world into a state of fear and terror when it comes to terrorist attacks.
One of the biggest controversial arguments currently has to do with the United States going to war
with the terrorist group of ISIS. I believe that the United States shouldn t go to war with ISIS, or just
not yet. I believe that if they decide to fight a ground war with ISIS or these certain terrorist groups,
they will be blindly moving into their territory. The last time that the United States decided to rush
into a blind fight, not knowing what was coming, they got taken down in the war in Vietnam. If the
United States dies decide to fight in these ground wars against the terrorist groups they will not know
what is coming and will have to blindly fight at risk of losing a lot of soldiers in the end of the war.
Another reason that the United States should not go to war with ISIS in general is

Persuasive Essay On Jackie Robinson
Jackie Robinson known as the man who broke the color barrier, was both a hero of baseball, and a
hero for the fight against racism. He took two of the things Americans valued most: freedom and
sports, and brought them to the grand stage. When we take what Robinson did and put it in
perspective of when and where it occurred we see the true struggle, and see just how despicable and
bitter this time was. It really highlights how the search for freedom and equality coincided with the
country s fight to hold on to segregation and racism. The retelling of Robinson s story has been retold
many times from the perspective of baseball. Jack Roosevelt Johnson was born on January 31, 1919 in
Cairo Georgia, the youngest of five children during a Spanish flu and smallpox epidemic. When
Jackie was very young his father abandoned the family. Now Jackie s mother Mollie Robinson, had to
find a better life for her family. Due to Jim Crow laws Mollie could not buy a house for her family,
because they were barred from certain neighborhoods for whites only. Despite this fact Mollie didn t
care she persuaded a light skinned black man to act is if he was buying a house in Pasadena,
California. (MSR News) Then the Robinson s moved in, whites were furious and threatened to burn
them out of the house. Mollie ignored the threats and went about her business. This strength and
cunning shown b their mother showed the kids how to fight for what they believe in, and to never stop

material for toilet paper core. I think everyone has question why it must be toilet paper core, and how
important toilet paper core is. Toilet paper is the thing that most people use. Most toilet paper has core.
When we use whole toilet paper, it will remain the core. Because of this core can t uses anymore so
we throw it in the bin and it becomes to garbage. More used cores, more garbage. The innovation that

Examples Of Madea s Infidelity In The Medea
Madea was once a loving wife and mother until she was betrayed by her husband Jason. Medea then
transformed into a bitter, hateful, and vindictive woman after she found out about her husband s
infidelity. In Euripides The Medea, the quote, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, is truly
depicted by the protagonist Medea. One would think Euripides was trying to portray Medea to as an
authentic woman as much as he could. It seemed like he wanted to tell the story of Medea as raw as
possible and leave nothing to be and leave nothing to be imagined. The reader would come to this
conclusion, because of the actions of Medea once she is infuriated by Jason s behavior. Medea did not

was going to kill them, because they were the people Jason was leaving her for. Medea gave up
everything for Jason, and she was the reason Jason was who he was. She provoked Pelias death for
him, she also killed her brother, betrayed her country, and walked out on her family. One would
consider Medea at this point in the play to be a callous, merciless, and rather ruthless person
considering she killed four people, two of which being her sons. She made the reader feel sympathetic

Lipids And The Proteins Of Lipids
Lipids
Lipids are part of a group of molecules which consist of fats, sterols, vitamins, phospholipids and
others.
We can find in our cell membrane glycerol phospholipids (phospholipids), which are part of the lipid
bilayer. The phospholipids can be found in biological membranes and their main function is to bind
proteins from the outside to the inside of cell membrane.
The structure of phospholipids is:
The phospholipids have 2 fatty acids and 2 long CH2 chains which are attached to a glycerol top.
The glycerol has a phosphate group which is hydrophilic attracted to water complete opposite to the
fatty acids chain which is hydrophobic scared of water .
The glycerol is an alcohol which is an organic compound with hydroxyl ... Show more content on

In general lipids are known as fats, and even though the normal idea in society that fats aren t good for
our body that isn t always true. Fats can be of extreme help, our body uses fats to produce energy and
protect us.
Lipids will come into work and store energy if a large number of unneeded fats are consumed; they
will store the calories in adipose cells and release them again when necessary such as while
exercising.
Another way fats are helpful to our body is in order to protect us; lipids use fats to isolate our body to
maintain our balanced temperature also it can be found surrounding our main organs (kidneys and
heart) serving as protection in case of injuries.
Last but not least our body uses lipids while digesting food; here lipids will support the body
absorbing nutrients. The bile acids in our liver will allow the mixture of water and fats in order to
break down and absorb food which will later on be translated into vitamins and used to maintain our
vision and blood correct levels.

3.0 Question 2
3.1 Intangibility
Intangibility means the incapacity to assess the value gained from using an intangible service where it
can t be seen, touched, tasted, smelled or stored (Palmer, 2000). In intangibility there are two different
aspects that could be looked into which is the search quality and experience. The search quality is
when they observe the product without experiencing it at first hand. In reality they would know what
they would want to rent like for example kayaks, canoes or a motorboat by only looking at it but have
not experienced it yet. The experience is when the customer has rented the tangible product and has
had an experience using it while being able to assess whether it is satisfactory or not. Once the service
rented is satisfactory, the customers would tend to return to the same place as they would have
confidence on the service obtained. Services are harder to market to potential customers compared to
goods as there is no physical evidence to showcase. This is where the advertisements, brochures and
customers word of mouth play a big role. The advertisements and brochures has to be crystal clear and
direct to capture the attention of potential customers, giving them an idea of the services that might be
purchased, which in this case is rental of various boats.

Joker In The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight opens with a classic robbery scene that makes the argument, that there is a code
among criminals that should be adhered to. Towards the end of the scene we see the bank manager
talking to the Joker exclaiming that criminals used to have honor and respect for one another, an honor
among thieves. The Joker does not share this same honor and will do what he wants, like murder the
people who help him rob the bank, to bring chaos and mayhem to Gotham. This argument could be
made by both the Joker and the Director of the film in order to show how different the Joker is from
any normal criminal. As shown later on in the film when he burns large piles of money, the Joker does

The mobsters in this film have respect for one another and know not to tamper with someone else s
territory. However, the Joker is not a mobster, he is a psychopath that knows how to manipulate people
by using money and scare tactics. The Joker does not rob the mob s banks because of the money, he
robs them to show the mob that respect only goes as far as the dollar you are giving. In Gotham, every
criminal knows their place in the large scheme of things and they do try and break the mold because of
the fear and respect they have for the mob bosses. When the bank manager says that the Joker has no
respect for who he is robbing, the audience should see the Joker as the worst of criminals because he
does not adhere to any code. The audience should think that the Joker is the worst of the criminals in
Gotham because he has no respect for the people helping him with his plans, they are just pawns in his
larger scheme. The general audience should know that the Joker is the main villain to Batman, but
what this scene shows is that he does not like to work with others because of their differences in goals.

The exposition of Blood on the River by Elisa Carbone is when a boy called Samuel Collier stole his

in Jamestown Virginia. The time period that this book took place in is 1606 1607. The significant
event that happened in this time period was the creation of Jamestown. There were many people
involved in this such as Samuel, Captain Smith, Captain Ratcliff, and many other gentlemen and
peasants. The problem that they face are dealing with the Native American people and just trying to
survive. This is a problem because the natives don t want these people around so they try to get rid of

The Impact Of Internet On The Music Industry
Introduction:
The music industry consists of the companies and individuals that make money by creating and selling
music (Wikipedia). The current music industry which emerged around the middle of the 20th century
has been undergoing drastic changes for the past two decades. When the Internet, and peer to peer file
sharing services such as Napster, Kazaa and Limewire, began their rise at the turn of the millennium,
many predicted that the music industry, among other entertainment sectors, was headed for impending
doom and catastrophic losses in sales. To some degree, and for the first few years, these predictions
seemed to become a reality as record sales fell drastically at least partially due to piracy. However, as

The Men Of The 1824 Election
The Men of the 1824 Election The political climate of 1824 was turbulent, a dynamic and would alter
the history of the United States of America for the foreseeable future. The 1824 PRESIDENTIAL
ELECTION marked the final collapse of the Republican Federalist political framework. For the first
time no candidate ran as a Federalist, while five significant candidates competed as Democratic
Republicans. (ushistory.org) James Monroe was the President of the United States of America
(P.O.T.U.S) at the time and was dealing with other European Countries Claiming land in the area of
what is now the Continental United States of America; at the same time the Native Americans and the
topic of slavery where a hot bed for trouble. President Monroe needed to put a stop to the European
over reach across the world. Monroe in 1823 formulated a declaration of principles on South America,
known in later years as the Monroe Doctrine. Warning that the American Continents where free and
independent are henceforth not to be considered for colonization by and European power. Any attempt
would be regarded as the manifestation of an unfriendly disposition toward the United states. (Roark)

be the corner stone of the type of Union it would become centuries later. Since the beginning of the
newly independent Republic union there were two different political parties the

Outliers Paradigm Analysis
A paradigm is a model used to support ideas and claims made by an author. In the book Outliers the
author Malcolm Gladwell uses many paradigms to further illustrate his findings. Throughout the book
Gladwell discusses success and the things that effect ones chance at becoming successful in life. It is
brought to our attention though Gladwell s use of paradigms that there are many small scale things
that can effect ones chances at succeeding. Success is often associated with talent, genetics, and
resources but little do people know there are many things that impact ones success. Throughout
Gladwell s text he uses many paradigms. The first paradigm that he uses is in the introduction of the
book. Gladwell begins by using a small town in Pennsylvania called Roseto. There was something
very unique about this town. A doctor named Stewart Wolfe he found that the rates of heart disease in
this little town were significantly less for those under the age of sixty five, which during the time heart
disease was a huge epidemic. Wolfe began to research the obvious things that one would believe to
have an impact on heart disease. He looked at diet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What the ten thousand hour rule states is to become professional at the task. Gladwell presents the
Beatles as one of the examples, he explains how the Beatles came to be as well as how they came to
the United States. He then goes on to tell how the Beatles not only played music for many years
before coming to the U.S but also how they played individually before becoming a band. This gave
them an advantage on their ten thousand hours. Gladwell also explained that the band played in
Hamburg, they played five or more hours a night seven days a week, they defiantly did their share to
get their hours in. many people don t think about the amount of work one puts in to become truly great

An Analysis of quot; The Sun Rising, quot; by John Donne...
The Sun Rising, by John Donne, is a lyric poem about two lovers. The poem is divided into three
stanzas, each ten lines long. The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic
poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is
speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the
sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being
a nuisance. He then tells the sun that his lover is worth more than anything the sun can ever find
outside their bedroom.
The sunrise has provoked the speaker to speak. The sun is symbolic of an intruder. Although the
speaker acts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He gets right to the point of the poem in the very first sentence, maybe because the sun has woken him
up, and he wants his readers to think that this was the very first thing on his mind.
In the second stanza, the speaker s tone becomes more insulting and modest. He attacks the sunshine
by pointing out that he can cut the sun out of his life by closing his eyes. Even though he is being
arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude
then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he
focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover
and himself are the center of the world.
As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the
lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that
he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes
that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. At the end of the third stanza, the
speaker decides that since nothing else matters in the world, the sun should only shine in the room
containing him and his lover, Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere: This bed thy center is, these
walls, thy

Concussions In The National Football League
From what I ve researched and what I ve experienced, I don t think it s worth the risk ( Chris Borland
). This quotation from former San Francisco 49er, Chris Borland, exemplifies the concern for the
increase in occurrence of concussions in the National Football League. A concussion is defined as a
type of traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the head ( NFL Concussions ). The debate on who
is truly responsible for the injury s increasing presence in the NFL continues to be disputed in the
league today. Whether the blame is to be placed on the administrative personnel of the league or the
players and their actions, change is the one common denominator in the stances taken by both sides.
The National Football League is not doing enough ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that a use of a more efficient test for diagnoses of the injury has not been implemented into
the league s concussion protocol provides support for this argument. Improper education of the true
amount of risk involved that will affect a player in the long term displays the carelessness of the
league s front office. Almost every athlete that remains connected to the NFL has a family that relies
on them for income and support. By discerning the safety of its very own employees, of which the
league would cease to exist without, the NFL is putting the lives and welfare of the players and their
families at risk. Money must become a secondary concern when one is dealing with a person s safety
on the football field. The league cannot continue to put the lives of its employees at risk in order to
avoid money loss. The National Football League is not doing enough to prevent concussions from
continually occurring in the league today and a change in policy is mandatory in order to provide a
safe environment for its players. Nothing matters more than a person s

Women s Lack Of Eating Disorders
There are many eating disorders like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and
feeding and eating conditions not elsewhere classified are clinical mental disorders. It is clear that
95% of disordered eating cases occur among women and that 90% of cases occur in people under the
age of 25.7 In the case of young female athletes in general, it seems that they have a similar risk of
developing disordered eating as non athletes (de Oliveira Coelho, et al, 2014). The prevalence of
disordered eating ranges from 0% to 27% in female athletes and ranges from 0% to 21% in the general
population. However, athletes suffer from a more serious condition that may lead to dangerous
consequences. Female athletes who participate in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Female athletes are often very body conscious with respect to weight and appearance. There is
evidence that a positive body image is often associated with physical activity. Though the issue of
body image in athletes is not only negatively influenced by social media and other outside influences,
there are also pressures to achieve and maintain an unrealistic body shape and size but is also
influenced by demands to be thin to maximize performance (Thompson, 2014). In sporting
populations it is important to look hard for the presence of disordered eating, not simply because
eating disorders are potentially serious conditions but also because they can be difficult to detect

Oryx And Crake Corruption
Wherever there is good in the world, there is deemed to be evil. Margaret Atwood established that
relationship while writing Oryx and Crake. Oryx, a free spirited loving individual, viewed the best for
the world. However, the post apocalyptic present is molded and formed by the immorality of one man:
Crake. Told through the eyes of Snowman, the characters of Oryx and Crake represent the good and
evil respectively. In the previous universe of Oryx and Crake, evilness and corruption are strongly
present in any direction. The online world encourages graphic and violent material that would be
highly prohibited in the modern world. From live executions in Asia (82) to animal snuff sites where
cats are torn apart by hand or frogs are stomped ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it was unknown that Crake had a more devious and elaborate plan. Throughout his younger
years, Crake questioned the perception of life often asking What is reality? (83) and experimenting to
see the capability of science and to discover what can be created. From his study at Watson Crick,
Crake saw the potential creations that science was capable of. From ChickieNobs, chicken parts with a
high growth rate...built in (203), to wolvogs who are bred to deceive (205), the possibilities are
endless. From there, Crake went on to develop his Paradise project. At first glance, Crake s main
initiative, a single pill named the BlyssPluss that would protect the user against all known sexually
transmitted diseases, (294) appeared to be harmless and life changing. However, similar to the other
corporations techniques, Creake did not create a cure. He created a fatal disease: a disease to cause the
worldwide plague (326). Throughout, Crake foreshadows his grand plan by discussing theoretical
scenarios with Jimmy. He becomes obsessed with the idea of how the elimination of one generation
could break the link in time between one generation and the next (223). Without a generation of
experienced and intelligent individuals, humanity stands no chance on surviving on its own.
Afterwards, it is simply game over forever

##flected The End Of Inequality And Segregation In...
Petrus Reflected the End of Inequality and Racial Segregation in Post Apartheid South Africa
The setting of a novel is a crucial element that leads to the reader s understanding of any political,
social, or economical factors that the characters experience. We are first introduced to Petrus when
David, the protagonist, moves to South Africa to live with his daughter Lucy. We would think that
Petrus, or as he introduced himself to David the gardener or dog man I look after the dogs and I work
in the garden. Yes...I am the gardener and the dog man. He reflects for a moment. The dog man, he
repeats, savouring the phrase. (Coetzee 64) would play a minor, insignificant character, later develops
a key role in the novel. Petrus becomes an important example of change for blacks in South Africa
after Apartheid. Disgrace, a novel by J. M. Coetzee, reflects the ending of racial segregation and
inequality in post apartheid South Africa.
Disgrace is a novel that takes place in South Africa during post apartheid. As Loxley mentions, The
inequalities inherent in apartheid, and the weakness of the role South Africa plays in the world
economy, have combined to generate political and economic instability (Loxley 1). This is slowly
shifted throughout the novel when we trace the actions of Petrus and his development in the novel.
Not only is inequality a factor, but as Fantu mentions, South Africa is a very unequal society,
consisting of a highly developed, first world sector on the one hand and an underdeveloped, third
world sector on the other. Racial and class differences generally coincide; most members of the
wealthy minority are white, and most members of the poor majority are black (Fantu 1). This shift is
underlyingly noticeable when David arrives to South Africa and is greeted by Petrus.
Social status is an essential element in this novel. The social status of the characters in this novel is
frequently addressed. Through Petrus, we can see a shift not only socially, but throughout the
community and country. We learn Lucy owns a piece of land that both her and Petrus work on, and
that Petrus purchased a piece of it from Lucy He got a Land Affairs grant earlier this year, enough to
buy a hectare and a bit from

Feliks Skrzynecki Analysis
The journey that comes when relocating from one country to another can be a significant challenge for
migrants through the idea of belonging. The notion (idea) of belonging is explored through the
dynamics between conforming to social influence and maintaining perception of self identity. This is
reflected in Peter Skrzynecki s poem Feliks Skrzynecki which highlights the struggles of migrants, in
this case, his father of trying to belong and not feeling like an outcast. Peter examines how an inherent
(existing in something) desire to belong to a group or community may have caused them to deny
aspects of identity. Peter s assimilation into the Australian way of life induces a detachment from his
father and his cultural ideas. Through

The Types Of Unprotected Speech
1. Discuss and explain three types of unprotected speech.
Unprotected discourse implies discourse that is subjected to directions issued by the administration. It

Words that need defending. Words that beg to be defended are a tight class of unprotected discourse
that are characterized as words talked in an eye to eye trade, for example, individual put down or

Theme Of Pullman In Northern Lights
In Addition, Pullman s hate to the Church. Pullman always attacks churches and priesthoods, the
trouble is that all too often in human history, churches and priesthoods have set themselves up to rule
people s lives in the name of some invisible god (and they re all invisible, because they don t exist)
and done terrible damage. In the name of their god, they have burned, hanged, tortured, maimed,
robbed, violated, and enslaved millions of their fellow creatures, and done so with the happy
conviction that they were doing the will of god, and they would go to Heaven for it. That is the
religion I hate, and I m happy to knowns as its enemy . Pullman make the reader ask magnificent

The Princess Ideal Beauty And The Beast
As I walk down Main Street USA at Disneyworld in Florida, with the smell of fresh baked candy
sitting in the air, and seeing the dressed up characters walking around, seeing all the little girls dressed
up as their favorite princesses, I can t help but wonder how Walt Disney took something from his
imagination and made it into what it is today. Growing up, every little girl dreams of being just like
the princesses that they see in their favorite Disney films. Whether that be Jasmine from Aladdin, or
Belle from Beauty and the Beast, every little girl dreams of finding their own prince charming, getting
married, and living in a castle far far away. Even when we look around in our society, we see the
princess ideal that is shown to young girls, where ever we look we are shown this. When little girls
first see a Disney Princess, they are presented with the ideal women, long perfect hair, flawless skin,
small waist, and long legs. Also, most of the time (minus Cinderella) always have flawless clothing
that they wear. This appeals to almost every little girl that sees this, and reinforces the ideal that little
girls need to be like the princesses that they see on the movie and television. Disney has regularly
played up the role of the female in their films and television shows. Now, whenever we look back at
these movies and television shows as we are older, we can now see these roles that we could not see as

Papa Pizza Case Analysis
On September 29, 1983, John Schnatter had the opportunity to manage a failing tavern in
Jeffersonville, Indiana (Wolfson, 2013). Seven month later, Schnatter turned a broom closet into a
pizza oven, which was the start of what will eventually become one of the largest pizza chain
restaurants in the world (Smith, 2016; Wolfson, 2013). To better understand Papa John s history and
current operations, it s strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) must be analyzed, along
with its financial position, which will guide the company to continued success in the twenty first
century.

As a result, the pizza chain went public in 1993 with two hundred thirty two stores (Schnatter, 2017).
Additionally, Papa John s accelerated their growth in January 2002 by being the first national pizza
restaurant to implement an online ordering system (Myers, 2015). Nevertheless, the corporation went
through several crises that included a lawsuit from one of its competitor, Pizza Hut (Addams, 2016).
Addams (2016) stated that in 1997, Pizza Hut filed a lawsuit against Papa John s logo and brand for
making false advertising (Trivia section, para. 3). Even though the court initially ruled in support of
Pizza Hut s claim, the decision was overturned on appeal in favor of Papa John s (Addams, 2016).
Besides the Pizza Hut s lawsuit, Papa John s experienced a decline in sales for the first time in the
early 2000s and thus, the organization laid off 45 people at its headquarters in 2004 (Wolfson, 2013,
Learning the Business section, para. 23). Moreover, the company s national headquarters was forced
to save money by turning off the heat (Wolfson, 2013). These changes in the business prompt its
founder (i.e., Schnatter) to relinquish his position as chief executive officer (CEO) in 2005 (Wolfson,
2013). However, Schnatter was able to return as CEO in 2008 and positioned the corporation as one of
the largest pizza restaurants in the United States by more than tripling its stock price from 2008 to
2013 (Wolfson, 2013).

  • 2. Prostitution Vs Prostitution By saying the word prostitution most people will assign it with a negative connotation, even though prostitution has many sides: some that we don t think about. One policy for how we should deal with prostitution won t work for every country let alone every state, but it is something we need to discuss. Here are two very different narratives of two women, not that these two accounts can generalize for all, but we can see the spectrum in a better light. I had no idea that I was being tricked . . . I was clueless. In Beijing, when I asked the madam for money, she told me to let this man take me to dinner . . . I didn t even speak Mandarin. He took me to a hotel. I had never even used an elevator before in my life. I only realized what was going on once I saw the bed in the room . . . The second time, they put something into my vagina and made me pretend to be a virgin. Afterwards, it felt all rotten inside. I had to go to the hospital, it was all stinky. The third time I tried to run away, but they caught me. I had to continue tricking clients [into thinking I was a virgin]. But afterwards I would always bleed down there. [Later] I ran away . . . and slept in the forest for two or three days . . . That whole time they would get in touch with my parents and say that everything was fine . . . The madam knew my mom (58 Boitton). We can go from an extremely horrific account to one where the ladies truthfully decided to join the profession, love it then have a normal life. ... • 3. Speculative Desires and an Unchanging Western Hostility The article US Policy Toward Political Islam by Stephen Zunes is a thoroughly researched topic. His depictions of a greedy, judgmental America are accurate and to the point. While there is a good chunk of useful suggestions that may have created less hostility from our Eastern counterparts, it is not logical or possible to say that following these sanctions out would have changed the outcome of the last ten years. What can be said of these ideas, is that following a more honest approach to politics through US policies would have given America a much needed transparency. Many of the extremist groups are founded on the hatred of American downfalls such as our tendency to overtake their lands by military force in order to exploit the lands ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This has led to the extremist groups attack of American policies and ideals. While it was necessary for our involvement in the first World War, it is not necessary now. The Palestinians living in East Jerusalem are living in horrible conditions at the hands of their Israeli oppressors. In this case, not taking a stand would at the very least strain our relationship with Israel, but improve our relations with Islamic countries of the Middle East. While there are a host of options laid out by Zunes in his article to directly affect our policies abroad, we must consider teaching tolerance at home. Children should be required to attend ethnicity/cultural sensitivity courses in elementary school. Colleges should require all freshman to take a more advanced study of global cultures. These classes would expose the world s top religions, compare them with our American values, and explain why different is not bad. If schools took a more direct approach to prejudices and just plain wrong information, as nation, we could create children devoid of ignorant opinions. Perhaps had this course been taken years ago, Miss. Teen USA could have answered the question regarding why American children cannot read maps. While it is impossible to create a completely aware and culturally sensitive generation, we can eliminate a huge amount of misplaced ill will towards those who come from different cultures and religions. It is possible to make the outcomes possibilities, but we will never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Facial Stereotypes There are mathematical equations, such as the golden ratio, which can be used to supposedly create the ideal human body. This proportion was used by Da Vinci to draw the perfect male body. An individual is said to have a beautiful face when it has a ratio of 1.6180339, or approximately 1.62. Facial symmetry can be measured by dividing the length of a face by the width of the widest part of the face; the closer quotient is 1.62 the more beautiful a face is according to the golden ratio. The golden ratio can also be used on various other parts of the body including; arm length, and height. Facial characteristics also play a role in determining an individual s attractiveness. • 5. Analysis Of Why Millennials CanT Grow Up The Millennial Generation is earning 20 percent less than the Generation X and the Baby Boomers. Psychotherapist at NYU (according to the university s website), Brooke Donatone argues in her article, Why Millennials Can t Grow Up that millennials experience extended adolescence that delays adulthood (Donatone 1). The author believes that the reasons for that happening are parents by their helicopter parenting and the economy because there are less high paying jobs that allow millennials to be financially independent. Throughout the article, Donatone explains that there is evidence on how it is not millennials fault that they are experiencing delayed adulthood. Therefore, it is safe to assume that her intended audience are the parents ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His article also contrasts Donatone s second flaw of unprofessional tone because he continuously stays professional and mindful of his audience that comes from world of business professionals. Donatone proposes that the reason for millennials struggles with adulthood, like working, dealing with people or even doing laundry is caused by helicopter parenting; however, she uses Amy, a girl that comes from a family with moderate wealth, to wrongly generalize that all millennials come from similar background. It is especially inappropriate and unfair to generalize about this topic because she talks about such a big and diverse group that is millennial generation, and not everyone comes from the same background. Donatone shows that Amy comes from middle class family when she says She finally had to dump the part time job, was still unable to do laundry, and often stayed up until 2 a.m. to complete her homework because she didn t know how to manage her time without her parents ... (Donatone 1). In order for someone to be able to drop their job they need someone that can help with their financial needs and wants, therefore it is safe to assume that Amy comes from a family with moderate wealth that is able to support those needs and wants. The author s moment when she generalizes that all millennials are like Amy and come from similar background is when she states It s easy to generalize an entire population by its ... • 9. Shiva s Iconography As the most complex deity within the Hindu pantheon, Shiva is an extraordinarily important god. Although equal to Vishnu and Brahman, Shiva is engulfed in an eternal paradox as a result of his diverse characteristics. Furthermore, Shiva represents a variety of spiritual and domestic aspects of Hindu culture. Importantly, Shiva embodies the energy of the universe as both creator and destroyer; he is the ultimate construction of non duality. Further, Shiva s power and significance demonstrates philosophical teachings as to the way in which certain aspects of Hindu life are constructed. To illustrate, the iconography of Shiva incorporates identifying characteristics that are necessary to understanding his relevance as a god, Shiva establishes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, it may appear as a paradox for one deity to be god of both creation and destruction. The key to understanding this complex aspect of Shiva s power relies on the Hindu concept of the impossibility of annihilation. The concept of the impossibility of annihilation suggests that when there is an absence of non being and annihilation, all that is left is the transformation of states. This transformative energy is regarded as ceaseless and infinite (Smith, 2). Death or destruction can be viewed as a result of a transformational process after life, whereby life is the product of creation. To explain, death is a rearrangement of indestructible atoms, and a gateway from one court of life to another. To destroy therefore, is to practically to recreate, and Death stands at the gates of life (Martin, 167). In this sense, all that lives within the realms of time are regarded as being in a state of constant transition and change from life to death thus, the natural circle of life. When something is destroyed, it is recreated with a new or different form. It is suggested that in efforts of purification, at the end of each era, Shiva destroys the universe by fire (Doniger, 83). The universe must be destroyed in order for it to be purified and renewed. Consequently, after the universe is destroyed, new life will is created. Therefore, it is reasonable that Shiva be regarded as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Isis And Many Terrorist Groups Blake Bonin Mrs. Landgrebe Advanced Comp. 3rd Hour 12/18/15 Research Paper ISIS and many terrorist groups have been recently attacking at will throughout the entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently. One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war with terrorist groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is to not go to war with terrorist groups or ISIS just yet. Within the past couple of years, the terrorist group of ISIS has made them well known and kept the world into a state of fear and terror when it comes to terrorist attacks. One of the biggest controversial arguments currently has to do with the United States going to war with the terrorist group of ISIS. I believe that the United States shouldn t go to war with ISIS, or just not yet. I believe that if they decide to fight a ground war with ISIS or these certain terrorist groups, they will be blindly moving into their territory. The last time that the United States decided to rush into a blind fight, not knowing what was coming, they got taken down in the war in Vietnam. If the United States dies decide to fight in these ground wars against the terrorist groups they will not know what is coming and will have to blindly fight at risk of losing a lot of soldiers in the end of the war. • 11. Persuasive Essay On Jackie Robinson Jackie Robinson known as the man who broke the color barrier, was both a hero of baseball, and a hero for the fight against racism. He took two of the things Americans valued most: freedom and sports, and brought them to the grand stage. When we take what Robinson did and put it in perspective of when and where it occurred we see the true struggle, and see just how despicable and bitter this time was. It really highlights how the search for freedom and equality coincided with the country s fight to hold on to segregation and racism. The retelling of Robinson s story has been retold many times from the perspective of baseball. Jack Roosevelt Johnson was born on January 31, 1919 in Cairo Georgia, the youngest of five children during a Spanish flu and smallpox epidemic. When Jackie was very young his father abandoned the family. Now Jackie s mother Mollie Robinson, had to find a better life for her family. Due to Jim Crow laws Mollie could not buy a house for her family, because they were barred from certain neighborhoods for whites only. Despite this fact Mollie didn t care she persuaded a light skinned black man to act is if he was buying a house in Pasadena, California. (MSR News) Then the Robinson s moved in, whites were furious and threatened to burn them out of the house. Mollie ignored the threats and went about her business. Medea then transformed into a bitter, hateful, and vindictive woman after she found out about her husband s infidelity. In Euripides The Medea, the quote, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, is truly depicted by the protagonist Medea. One would think Euripides was trying to portray Medea to as an authentic woman as much as he could. It seemed like he wanted to tell the story of Medea as raw as possible and leave nothing to be and leave nothing to be imagined. In intangibility there are two different aspects that could be looked into which is the search quality and experience. The search quality is when they observe the product without experiencing it at first hand. In reality they would know what they would want to rent like for example kayaks, canoes or a motorboat by only looking at it but have not experienced it yet. The experience is when the customer has rented the tangible product and has had an experience using it while being able to assess whether it is satisfactory or not. Once the service rented is satisfactory, the customers would tend to return to the same place as they would have confidence on the service obtained. Services are harder to market to potential customers compared to goods as there is no physical evidence to showcase. This is where the advertisements, brochures and customers word of mouth play a big role. The advertisements and brochures has to be crystal clear and direct to capture the attention of potential customers, giving them an idea of the services that might be purchased, which in this case is rental of various boats. 3.2 Inseparability Inseparability means the ... In Gotham, every criminal knows their place in the large scheme of things and they do try and break the mold because of the fear and respect they have for the mob bosses. When the bank manager says that the Joker has no respect for who he is robbing, the audience should see the Joker as the worst of criminals because he does not adhere to any code. The audience should think that the Joker is the worst of the criminals in Gotham because he has no respect for the people helping him with his plans, they are just pawns in his larger scheme. The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being a nuisance. Even though he is being arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover and himself are the center of the world. As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. • 37. Stamp Act Conflict The last conflict that contributed to blaming the British, was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act was the first internal tax on the colonist. They were taxed on every piece of printed paper. They created the act to pay off debt from the French and Indian war but most importantly pay for the British soldiers that were in the colonies. The colonist were upset with this act because they believed that if they were to be taxed, they should be taxed by their own representatives and they didn t want the British army there. They protested by refusing to pay/ignored the stamps, punished supports of the act, made an effigy of tax collectors and hung it from a tree/put it over a fire, and created the virginia resolves. • 38. The Princess Ideal Beauty And The Beast As I walk down Main Street USA at Disneyworld in Florida, with the smell of fresh baked candy sitting in the air, and seeing the dressed up characters walking around, seeing all the little girls dressed up as their favorite princesses, I can t help but wonder how Walt Disney took something from his imagination and made it into what it is today. Growing up, every little girl dreams of being just like the princesses that they see in their favorite Disney films. Whether that be Jasmine from Aladdin, or Belle from Beauty and the Beast, every little girl dreams of finding their own prince charming, getting married, and living in a castle far far away. Even when we look around in our society, we see the princess ideal that is shown to young girls, where ever we look we are shown this. When little girls first see a Disney Princess, they are presented with the ideal women, long perfect hair, flawless skin, small waist, and long legs. Also, most of the time (minus Cinderella) always have flawless clothing that they wear. This appeals to almost every little girl that sees this, and reinforces the ideal that little girls need to be like the princesses that they see on the movie and television. Disney has regularly played up the role of the female in their films and television shows. Now, whenever we look back at these movies and television shows as we are older, we can now see these roles that we could not see as children. Now, when we watch a Disney film, or show, we are ... • 40. Wrong Place Wrong Time By Rob Cipriano Wrong Place, Wrong Time A hero is someone who we determine to have demonstrated behaviors and decisions that are ethically and emotionally worthy of our awe.(Huffpost, Author: Rob Cipriano). What if you were in the wrong place, at the wrong time? What if you were wrongfully convicted? What if you were compared to an hog because of your lack of education? I believe jefferson was a hero because he saw light even in the midst of darkness. He learned to believe in himself and not what people thought of him. Pg.7 Jefferson s defense attorney spoke so degrading about Jefferson to the jury, Look at him look at him look at this. Do you see a man sitting here? Do you see a man sitting here? ... • 41. Papa Pizza Case Analysis On September 29, 1983, John Schnatter had the opportunity to manage a failing tavern in Jeffersonville, Indiana (Wolfson, 2013). Seven month later, Schnatter turned a broom closet into a pizza oven, which was the start of what will eventually become one of the largest pizza chain restaurants in the world (Smith, 2016; Wolfson, 2013). To better understand Papa John s history and current operations, it s strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) must be analyzed, along with its financial position, which will guide the company to continued success in the twenty first century. History Although Schnatter has been working at various pizza restaurants since he was fifteen years old, he initiated the idea to open his own pizza ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a result, the pizza chain went public in 1993 with two hundred thirty two stores (Schnatter, 2017). Additionally, Papa John s accelerated their growth in January 2002 by being the first national pizza restaurant to implement an online ordering system (Myers, 2015). Nevertheless, the corporation went through several crises that included a lawsuit from one of its competitor, Pizza Hut (Addams, 2016). Addams (2016) stated that in 1997, Pizza Hut filed a lawsuit against Papa John s logo and brand for making false advertising (Trivia section, para. 3). Even though the court initially ruled in support of Pizza Hut s claim, the decision was overturned on appeal in favor of Papa John s (Addams, 2016). Besides the Pizza Hut s lawsuit, Papa John s experienced a decline in sales for the first time in the early 2000s and thus, the organization laid off 45 people at its headquarters in 2004 (Wolfson, 2013, Learning the Business section, para. 23). Moreover, the company s national headquarters was forced to save money by turning off the heat (Wolfson, 2013). These changes in the business prompt its founder (i.e., Schnatter) to relinquish his position as chief executive officer (CEO) in 2005 (Wolfson, 2013). However, Schnatter was able to return as CEO in 2008 and positioned the corporation as one of the largest pizza restaurants in the United States by more than tripling its stock price from 2008 to 2013 (Wolfson, 2013).
