Character Analysis Of White Fang
Through both brutal and loving actions, the characters in White Fang thrive to become the best. White
Fang was taught from young to become fit for the environment of which he faced. Weedon Scott
cherishes White Fang, being the best master White Fang could have. Kiche faced unmanageable
situations, but she still managed to survive. These are the most significant characters in White Fang
that stood out to survive and become the fittest. The character White Fang demonstrates survival of
the fittest through his many actions. First, White Fang was taught since youth to hunt for his own
food. For instance, White Fang had to kill ptarmigan chicks for food, and he had to kill a weasel
because he was being attacked. (London, 73) These events ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Weedon Scott has sympathy for White Fang and has an idea of what he had to go through, just to
survive in the wild. Although, Weedon Scott still demands respect from White Fang and he still wants
White Fang to obey him just like his previous masters. When Weedon Scott fell off of his horse, he
demanded White Fang not to attack the horse, and to go back home. (London, 238) This example
shows how White Fang has to respect Weedon Scott if he wants to be respected back. Concluding my
evidence, these actions show how Weedon Scott is the survival of the fittest. Kiche showed how she
adapted to the savage environment in which she faced. First off, she saved White Fang from being
killed by a lynx and a weasel, and if she did not save him he would have died. (London, 71) This
incident proves that Kiche cared for him, and Kiche would protect her cubs if necessary. This picture
displays how Kiche cared and loved White Fang. A couple years later, Kiche met up with White Fang
and she did not recognize him because White Fang matured and looked older. Kiche s instinct was to
claw White Fang because she thought he was trying to hurt her newborn cubs. (London, 134) This
made White Fang and Kiche mentally stronger, so they could both move on with their new life.
Finally, Kiche willingly gave herself up to indians knowing she would escape in the future. Kiche, like
White Fang, was brilliant and she knew the man animals were more powerful than her, so that

The Movie Zombies By Issac Marion
Love, romance, and comedies have always been a success in whether it be books or movies. These are
genres that throughout centuries have succeeded in standing the tests of time. The author Issac Marion
took on this genre with an undead twist. Marion published a book about a zombie, R, and his
perspective of the now post apocalyptic world. As the story progresses, the audience sees what zombie
life is, R s experience of love, and the war between the living and the undead. Three years after
publishing the book, Jonathan Levine created the movie adaptation. Zombies, at the time of the movie
release, were perceived as romantic in an eerie way. Marion s original plot changed into more of a
romantic/comedy genre that would appeal to the teen, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The specific music chosen for the film solely coincided with what was popular at the time of movie
production, and what the filmmakers targeted audience, teens and young adults, would respond well to
and relate to. Through the filmmakers, careful consideration of what to put in the scenes, what music
to use, and even which actors to hire, caused to the movie s success. The filmmakers interpreted the
book s agents into more teen relatable characters to make the movie relatable and more of a success.
Originally the book suggests R s character as a business type man. Marion described him as wearing
black dress pants, gray button up, and a tie which gives him more of a mid to late twenties age
range(Rawden). In the book, R has children and a marriage which would also cause for little to no
interest in younger audiences since most teenagers and young adults cannot relate to this. This
However, the film depicts him more of a teen or early twenties by wearing ripped jeans, simple white
tee, sneakers, and a red hoodie. This change in the character s physical appearance would cause for the
younger movie audiences to relate more, connect more, and ultimately causing them to have more
interest in the movie. The filmmakers of the movie also chose to pick very young looking actors to
emphasize this teen romance theme in the movie. In contrast, they chose R s best friend, an older
looking actor, to contrast these film s young leading stars. If

Men Working On The Bridge
Many of the men working on the bridge knew each from previous jobs around the city or drinking at
the Old Vic, the Blarney and the Commercial. Some played in the same soccer or football league or
stood next to each other at a Bulldogs games or at the cricket; there were blokes who knew each other
from school, from the neighbourhood.
Antonello hooked up almost immediately with Sam and Slav, he knew both of them from soccer and
Sam from a couple of previous jobs. They took to having all their breaks together. At lunchtime, they
sat at the same table in the lunchroom, at morning tea they took their cuppa out to the same spot on the
river and after work they settled on the same corner of the bar at the Vic. They were the first real
friends he d made in Australia. In school he had been the wog boy with broken English, and while he
was usually included when the boys played football or soccer, he didn t get to know any of the other
kids well. After he left school, working on the building sites with Bob, he tended to keep to himself.
Mostly he hung out with his brothers Joe and Vince, and on the weekends, with some of his cousins
who lived across the city in Richmond and Collingwood but he d often felt lonely longing for friends
his own age and missing his childhood friends, the boys and girls he grew up with in Vizzini. Some of
them stayed in the village, a couple were in New York. Several were in Australia, one or two in
Melbourne but he only saw them occasionally at weddings,

Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing
BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical
advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary
to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care.
Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory
ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors
investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving
participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics
3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi
experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology
enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory
therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT:
Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care
physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). The
improvement was statistically significant in cognitive knowledge test score with p value .05; t (25) =
3.91. The mean for post psychomotor skills test score was 3.15 (SD = .88) and the mean for pre test

The Scramble for Africa
What was the Scramble for Africa?
The Scramble for Africa was a period of time where major European countries fought over and
colonized land in Africa, stretching from South Africa to Egypt. The scramble for Africa began shortly
after the slave trade, and ended at WW1, and is a strong representation of the New Imperialism . The
first country to act was Belgium, who colonized Congo at 1885, but soon, other countries such as
Portugal and Great Britain joined in in order to not miss out. Firstly, the European could not colonize
Africa easily, due to Africa s giant land mass and the diseases that spread throughout the land. But
then, came the Steam train, Maxim guns and new cures for diseases that paved the way for the
Europeans to control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
African kings were also uncivilized and barbaric and most of them were a long time before their age,
with the exception of some, most famously Shaka, the king of the Zulus in pre scramble Africa. And
on top of all that, there were some mercenaries fighting for the Europeans.
The Africans fought each other:
African warlords were actually fighting each other during the scramble for Africa, while the treaty of
Berlin kept the European countries from doing the same, even though they had a scandal over
Ethiopia, and thus resulting in a double war for many of the Africans, which had made the war much
harder than it should have been for them.
Europeans had obviously better technology:
One of the most obvious and dominant factors of how did European countries colonize Africa was the
fact that they had much better weapons and technology to fight with, such as the invention of the
steam train, steam boat and the Maxim gun, while the African tribes were using sticks, swords and
spears Europeans were using nearly 2000 years ago as Greek warriors. Apart from weapons,
Europeans also had the more advance medical technology used to heal wounded soldiers or the sick.
How has this affected Africa and the world?
Change in Geographical Order:
For many years, African tribes ruled Africa with their own borders of the empire. Until the Europeans
came along, the tribes ruled their empires land as they pleased, with no third

Cognitive Dissonance Theory Paper 2 Introduction The cognitive dissonance theory has many
possible scenarios and examples chosen throughout life. The theory will be either enhanced or
decreased depending on a number of factors such as the person s moral values, social upbringing, and
social status at work, religious views, culture, and more. When a person makes a decision, such as

When returning to work makes sure that it continues to play out and it would be best to not walk in as
if there were not an illness; just say that you are still recovering the flu symptom. Everyone takes that
unexpected day off for mental reasons; it just cannot become a habit, because that will be cheating the
company. The boss may catch on also the coworkers, and the person could be fired. Discuss possible
explanations for the behavior using attribution theory There can be many explanations for why an
employee would call in sick to work when he or she is not really sick. One reason could be explained
through the attribution theory. The attribution theory explains the behavior like this can be explained
by attributing it to either the employee s internal disposition or to an external situation. The employee
s internal disposition could be that the employee always seems to have a bad attitude to his or her job
duties and that his or her personality is pessimistic or lazy. The employee s external situation could be
that he or she has a manager who is constantly micro managing them, which makes them unhappy at
work, or the employee has a coworker who is their counterpart who is slacking at work. The employee
may have to work harder at the job than the other employee to get their collective tasks completed.
This may lead to the employee calling out sick because of his or her internal disposition they are just
lazy and do

Paleolithic Era Research Paper
The Paleolithic Era consists of hunter gather societies. Living a nomadic lifestyle, the Paleolithic
people followed their PREY and used resources provided by the land. AS A RESULT, THEY WERE
ALWAYS MOVING SINCE they hunted mammoths, bison, deer, and rodents and gathered roots and
berries. The earliest humans used very rudimentary and basic tools for tasks like cracking open bones
and preparing animal hide. These tools were later improved on to help provide protection, food, and
clothing. By the end of the Paleolithic Era, the hominids made weapons for hunting and food
preparation, such as spears and the bow and arrow, out of bone and were creating more advanced
stone and wood structures. There is also evidence of fishing. The development of tools helped

Bands or tribes were formed when clans mixed with neighboring groups. Early tribes had a form of
government based chiefs and religious figures. They were the leaders of these early societies and had
the responsibility of keeping unity in the tribe. Many of the early tribes worshipped deities and had
numerous religious rituals. The sacrificing to gods, goddesses, and spirits is one example of the rituals
performed in the tribes. They also believed in an afterlife. Their dead can be found with items, such as
flowers and tools, which were possibly offerings to the dead. The people were known to be
spiritualistic and believed in animism. The idea that everything has a spirit was a part of animism, and
the way the spirits interacted caused natural occurrences like the weather. Within their communities

Einstein s Bagels Business Analysis
Introduction:
Most Americans when they walk into a restaurant or fast food place will immediately notice the
ambiance of the place. If the ambiance is not welcoming or new, a lot of people would choose to just
go someplace else. The visual appeal of a restaurant or any food place is huge to our desire to eat at
that certain place. Einstein s Bagels has hundreds of locations across the U.S. and some of those
locations are in need to a renovation. Renovations to some stores that are in need of a renovation

The Importance Of Climate Change
Climate Change
What have we done to our earth? If we no longer need to debate whether the Earth is flat, then we no
longer need to entertain the possibility that man is not making an unsustainable impact on the planet.
Earth hates us and I would too, from the plastic churning throughout the oceans, to the number of trees
delimiting, and the killing storms, Earth is changing and it is mad, but what is worse is a person s
ignorance on climate change and the lives this change it is affecting.
Scientific evidence for the warming of earth s climate is doubtful. Earth is undergoing a gradual
increase in the overall temperature of earth s atmosphere. Climate change is no longer an
environmental issue but not contributing to a social issue, which affects every person s lives in several
different ways and intensities. Climate change is an economic, social, and environmental issue.
Acceptance of climate change is the first step in a positive acknowledgment to advance forward in
handling this issue. Climate change has become an issue prevalent in people s lives rather than just the
environment. The issue is not that the world has more carbon dioxide, and it is not that the world is
warmer. The issue here is the speed at which the world is changing. The biggest issue is the blind side
our population is willing to turn to the matter.
Climate change affects several people in a numerous way and with different severities but the lives
climate change may affect most starts with people being

Explain The Key Features Of The Anzaac Legend
History Essay Key features of the ANZAC legend and explain how and why it was created. The
Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, later known as ANZAC, has a legend, although many also
refer to it as the ANZAC spirit. The ANZAC legend was created on April 25th 1915, but was only
really acknowledged after their eight months of fighting in Gallipoli. The legend that the men created
is something for our countries to be proud of but it does not refer to their fighting ability, as they
actually lost at battle, but instead, it refers to the Australians and New Zealanders great display of
mateship, discipline, ambition, endurance and courage during their fighting. The landing at Gallipoli is
seen as a story of courage, bravery and the endurance during a time filled with death and despair. The
fact that they were under the poor leadership from London, and their unsuccessful strategies, cost most
of them their lives. But even under London s poor leadership, they still held strong in their bravery
through their hard times, it was acts like these that earned them their legend. But it was this act that
earned them the ANZAC legend. Their unwavering bravery through this even earned some praise
from war correspondents, such as Charles Bean. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Taking a Look at Coordinating Compounds
Coordinating compounds, usually noted by their Indo Aryan name dvandva . Coordination complexes
were notable since the start of chemistry. The definition and border of the class of coordinating
compounds involves two issues: initially, what a compound is and how can we distinguish
coordinative compounds from alternative multiword expressions; second, the understanding of what
coordination is, and the way it s to be distinguished from alternative, non symmetrical relations (e.g.
subordination). The major breakthrough occurred once Alfred Werner put forward in 1893 that Co(III)
bears six ligands in an octahedral geometry. His theory permits one to grasp the distinction between
coordinated and ionic in a compound, for instance chloride within the cobalt ammine chlorides and to
clarify several of the earlier unexplainable isomers. In 1914, Werner resolved the first coordination
complex, known as hexol, into optical isomers, overthrowing the idea that solely carbon compounds
may possess chirality.
Introduction
Coordination compound is a compound formed from a Lewis acid and a Brønsted base , a Lewis acid
being an electron pair acceptor and a Brønsted base a proton acceptor. Thus the interaction of the
Lewis acid metal centre as in Ni(ClO4)2 with the Brønsted base ammonia to make a complex in line
with the given equation: Ni(ClO4)2 + 6NH3 → [Ni(NH3)6](ClO4)2
This equation provides an example of the formation of a complex. In writing the formulae

Similarities Between Cheese And Pygmalion
I m a working class person, working with class. Karl Lagerfeld A working class person, struggling to

Elsschot and Pygmalion, written by George Bernard Shaw. Both being written in the 1910s and 1930s
respectively, it s inevitable to find connections between the novels themselves and the general society
of those periods. We are presented with main characters Frans Laarmans in Cheese and Eliza Doolittle
in Pygmalion, with social, cultural and religious aspects. In Cheese and Pygmalion, the culture and

Laarmans as a clear example, sells his soul to Hornstra , which is a form of biblical imagery. Not only
does the name Hornstra ring a bell of the generalized image of the devil, but the act of selling one s
soul is definitely something biblical as well. Despite Elsschot claiming that he was an atheist, he made
countless biblical references. Religion was undoubtedly of great significance for many in the 1930s.
Elsschot took advantage of the situation and was not only able to tell his story more effectively, but
the passage also shows that he was still aware of the time he lived in. Exactly the same goes for Shaw
s Pygmalion, where Mrs. Pearce tells Higgins is, tempting the girl . Shaw also showed biblical
interest, not only in the plot itself, but in real life also. Shaw also described himself as a person of no
religion, however he still showed interest in the study and concepts behind religion throughout his life.
Again, this also shows that Shaw consciously integrated biblical references to please his own
audience, which at the time were dominantly

Hurricane Katrina Problems
Natural disasters are devastating and affect everyone where they hit, but they particularly affect racial
minorities and those who fall below the poverty line. Without resources or money to rebuild, the
impoverished and minorities are forced to figure out their own plan to recover from the natural
disaster. Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, Louisiana and caused a myriad of issues with its
residents. Some of the problems the impoverished and minorities faced were: evacuating New
Orleans, homelessness, rebuilding, and unjust treatment from the government. Natural disasters,
specifically Hurricane Katrina, cause a socioeconomic dichotomy between the lower class and the

Before the Storm In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans in Louisiana. Most of
the city s population suffered some sort of loss whether it was a fatality, loss of property, or a lack of
resources or money to rebuild. However, each social class and race did not suffer the same losses; the
underprivileged and racial minorities suffered much greater losses than those who had the resources or
money to evacuate (Bates 5). The evacuation system set in place by the Louisiana government was
almost nonexistent. The plan was for the population of New Orleans to try evacuating the city before
Katrina hit. The upper class had the money and means of transportation to leave the city and enter

The Task of Keeping a Driver Sober
There are many reasons people drink, however keeping a driver sober can be a monumental task.
Often times drunk driving ends grimly. Every 51 minutes on average, someone is killed in a drunk
driving crash, 10,322 people died in 2012 due as a result of drunk driving (http://www.madd.org/drunk
driving/). Many programs and laws have spawned in hopes of reducing the number of drunk drivers
on the road. These programs raise awareness on the results of drunk driving; however they lack a
probable preventative solution. Through alternate practices and more awareness, drunk driving may be
aided in reduction.
Drunk Driving should be stopped as it can result in permanent injury and trauma to various body parts
such the spinal cord. Some victims are lucky to still be partially mobile, using canes and walkers in
aide whilst moving. In many cases Driving Under the Influence (DUI) victims are lucky to be alive as
often times these accidents end in death. Many times as explained by Gary Schuman this will lead to a
case of death insurance dispute in order to cover losses and opens up more debate between the insurers

Medical Imaging and Ionizing Radiation Effects on Human Health
Abstract:
Ionizing radiation that is used in medical imaging releases free radicals. These radicals can interfere
with the molecular chemical bonds that is responsible for regulating the cellular function inside the
cell. The interaction between free radicals and the molecules inside the cell might lead to genetic
mutations in the DNA and it can damage cellular enzymes leading to the proliferation of cancer cells.
In the United States, 50% of the environmental exposure to ionizing radiation is mainly attributed to
medical imaging. Computed tomography (CT) scans are the main source of X rays, a form of ionizing
radiation. The purpose of this project is to present an overview of the main reasons for exposure,
explaining the possible future effects of ionizing radiation on human health, enlightening the imaging
modalities with ionizing radiation, addressing the population at risk, and explaining the main
principles and recommendations to avoid and limit the exposure to ionizing radiation. _

Deviance In American Culture
Deviance is described as any violation to the norms present in a culture. Since these norms are culture
specific, deviance is viewed as a relative concept. Chapter 8 in the textbook introduces us to deviance
by showing the reaction of Napoleon Chagnon to seeing the Yanomamo Indians of Brazil, in what
they would view as regular attire. These Indigenous people glared at Chagnon and his group, while
being nude and having drug colored mucus running from their noses. They were covered in filth and
would clean their hands by spitting tobacco filled saliva in them. This is disturbed Chagnon greatly,
due to it deviating so greatly from the customary norms he is familiar with. Norms pertaining to

Scout Reflection
On Saturday, the 28th of October, I presented Earth Rocks to Cub Scouts who were earning their Merit
Badge. As I now reflect on the two sessions I taught that day, I wonder if I could have ever been truly
prepared for them. I believed I had everything lined out and timed to take us right up to the time their
session was over. However, that was not the case because the scouts knew a considerable amount
more about the subject than I realized. I feel honored to have been able to work with such intelligent
groups of scouts. During the first session, I quickly realized that these Cub Scouts knew an impressive
amount about the information I was presenting, so I forced myself to change how I was presenting the
material. I engaged the scouts into the material by asking each one tons of questions about what they
already knew. Then I made sure they stayed busy with hands on activities that really engrossed them
into the material. I believe that when I had to change my lesson plans on the spot, I did decently well.
I was able to better grab the scouts attention and help them learn more information than before they
walked into the session. One of the most challenging ideas I tried to teach to the scouts would have to
be about geographical surroundings and the geographical materials that make up the buildings. I feel
as if I did not know enough about the subject matter, or how to present it correctly in a way that was
truly benefiting the scouts. However, the scout leaders were

The Magnitude of Ramadan Essay
The Five Pillars of Islam are the framework of Islamic life. First off, a Muslim must have faith in
Allah and believe that there is only one Allah and Muhammad is His messenger. Next, a Muslim has
the duty to pray five times each day, which is considered to be a direct link between him and Allah.
Third, a Muslim must distribute alms and help the needy. Fourth, a Muslim is responsible to keep the
Fast of Ramadan. Lastly, a Muslim is obligated to make a pilgrimage to Mecca in his lifetime. Most
non Islamic people do not know why these pillars are so important to the Islamic religion. One of the
most questioned, is the fourth pillar, since fasting symbolizes such different things in all religions. In

It is very significant that a Muslim spends a lot time with his family and friends, throughout this
month, and realizes what is truly important in his life. Many more Muslims attend Mosques during
Ramadan because they believe that Allah will help them understand the essentials of life.
Throughout Ramadan all Muslims are strictly obligated to pray five times each day and, in addition,
attend Mosque and have a nightly prayer, called Taraween, which is two to three times as long as the
usual daily prayers. Along with praying, Muslims celebrate significant days in the month. On the
evening of the 27th day of the month, Muslims celebrate the Laylat al Qadr (the Night of Power)
(Zahid). This night is
Jafari 3 celebrated because it is believed by all Muslims that it was the night that Muhammad first
received the revelation of the Quran and the night when Allah determines the future of the world for
the next year. By celebrating nights like this along with praying at home and in a Mosque, a Muslim
becomes much closer to Allah and in return gets to know their own identity much better. Reading out
of the Quran and worshipping Allah is one of the most important things to do during the Fast of
Ramadan.

Charlemagne Compare And Contrast
Charlemagne, the greatest Emperor of Western Europe. Another name for Charlemagne was Charles
the Great because of all that he offered to the Christian/western Europeans. Yes, there is a book written
to talk about his magnificent accomplishments, which is The Two Lives of Charlemagne. The book is
taken into two different accounts. It displays the writings of both authors, Einhard and Notker the
Stammer. Both writings have similarities as well as major differences. Today, I will illustrate a
comparison and contrast between the two accounts that the book was written in and how that affects
the viewpoints that the character, Charlemagne, is seen as.
Einhard was the first person to write about the life of Charlemagne. He was a member of the court as
well as a known scholar. He lived to be loyal servant to Charlemagne while living in his palace.

Einhard describes the historical context and personal experience. Einhard s version is a bias because
he only describes the good attributes to Charlemagne. Additionally, Einhard shows Charlemagne as
the return of the Roman Empire. Furthermore, Einhard was a member of the court as well as
Charlemagne s dedicated servant so he feels compelled to say everything great about Charlemagne.
The fact that Einhard decides on which facts are important to keep and which are to be left out. For
example, when he decided to not speak about the childhood of Charlemagne. It is significant to
remember this when reading Einhard s version of the story.
The Notker had a certain vision when writing his version of the story. His main focus was on the
actions of Charlemagne towards the religious side and the treatment of the bishops. Notker felt that the
rank was not important but the religious acts and education are more important to focus on. He
described Charlemagne as strict and then goes into the kind deeds that he

The Juche Ideology of North Korea Essay
Ideology can be looked at different perspectives of the way people think about it. Some people think
that ideology is bad, while some people think it is good. Ideology takes a very harmful way in
Christianity; Pope Francis explains to Christians that ideology drives away the church and the people.
In his perspective of mind, ideology is a serious illness. (Dolan) In some other places such as North
Korea, ideology is a dangerous belief system. North Koreans Ideology is most commonly referred as
Juche, this ideology is harmful to people because most people would like to praise people who do
good things, but in North Korea people have to pray to a dictator who is capable of killing, torturing,
and murdering his own people.

(Juche Religion)
Kim Il Sung created this dangerous belief system so that North Koreans would always obey him.
Before Dictatorship North Korea was an independent nation, it was a colony full of Christians. Kim Il
Sung noticed how Christians worshipped the Japanese ruler who ruled Korea. When North Korea
declared as a country, Kim Il Sung changed the form of Christianity and he declared himself as a God
so that North Korea will always praise and pray him. Christians revolted against this, so Kim Il Sung
annihilated most of them because he did not want his own people suspecting him of Juche and put lots
of people in concentration camps and they still reside there. (Juche Religion) Juche originated from
Marxism Leninism. Marxism Leninism was created by Karl Marx, some of the main points in this
ideology are that a communist party should be able to perform and play major roles in society. Some
other beliefs in Marxism Leninism are that modern capitalism should turn into imperialism.
(Piskunov) North Korea gained inspiration from Marxism Leninism, which is why this ideology is one
of the main ideologies that Juche originated. Some other ideologies that Juche originated were
Confucianism. Confucianism was developed in China by a man named Kong Qiu (Confucius). Kong
Qiu travelled across the country to spread his teachings, but at that time his beliefs was not popular
and some of his beliefs were how to do the right things in life. He

Russia s Peace Policy Essay examples
E.E.C. wrote a letter to the editor of The New York Times in 1899 to discuss their negative opinions
concerning the peace conference that Russia wished to set up between itself, England, and the United
States. They described how even though Russia s tsar might be sincere about wanting to hold this
international meeting, he also has a hidden agenda on his mind that he will not come right out and talk
about. The author thinks that Russia is being very deceitful, so other countries should pay close
attention and be weary of falling into their trap. The tsar might want world peace and prosperity like
he says, but he will do whatever it takes to increase Russia s power, status, and wealth.

This would be a huge problem for the entire world. As Sergei Witte, an advisor for both Alexander III
and Nicholas II, noted in his article, Program for a Commercial and Industrial Policy ,
Russia is an independent and strong power. She has the right and the strength not to want to be the
eternal handmaiden of states which are more developed economically...She is proud by her great
might, by which she jealously guards not only the political but also the economic independence of her
empire. She wants to be a metropolis herself. (Witte, 9)
Witte goes on to describe how Russia is starting to find their place in the domination of foreign
industry. He notes that even though the country is not running at its fullest potential right now, it will
be soon. Russians have a great capacity for work, along with the abundance of raw materials and
strong knowledge of agriculture. Now that Russia has disposed of the serfdom policies that have been
in place for many hundreds of years, it is on its way to becoming a foreign powerhouse. During the
time that E.E.C. wrote Russia s Peace Policy , Nicholas II was Russia s tsar. In 1905, he gave back
some of the Russian citizen s civil liberties when he was forced to sign the October Manifesto. Some
of these rights were included trial by jury

Summary Of Amusing Ourselves To Death Postman
Humanity has far surpassed anything that was seen as impossible. However, as society progressed did
we get distracted on the way? Did we seem to lose track of the important things that mattered in our
lives? In the mid 1980s Neil Postman wrote a book called Amusing Ourselves to Death which talks
about how technology and media has reshaped our culture and he makes predictions on how it will
shape our future. The purpose of this paper is to update Postman s perspective to the present.
Throughout the last chapter of the book Postman talks about how technology has distracted us, and
how it has changed our social lives. This paper will provide information on how Postman s
perspective examples connect to society today, and how many of us are influenced by it without even
noticing it.

Postman says Television as I have implied earlier, serves us most usefully when presenting junk
entertainment; ... news, politics, science, education, commerce, religion and turns them into
entertainment packages. (Postman 159) This election year people are making fun of the candidates
running for president. Many of these people don t even seem concerned because television has turned
politics into entertainment.
Asbeek Brusse author of Educational Storylines in Entertainment Television says Although
embedding a health product into an entertainment program to covertly influence the public may add to
the program s intended prosocial effects and may be socially desirable for some target groups, other
consumers might find this tactic offensive or morally unacceptable. (Educational Storylines 398)
Many products aren t taken seriously because there are embedded into entertainment. Even though
entertainment is added to catch the viewer s attention it may leave many crucial things

Sympathy For A By Mrs Hale And Mrs. Hale
Sympathy for a Murderess In a time when women were thought of as airheaded and unconcerned with
matters of importance by men, a woman s compassion and intuition can hold incredible power. In a
Jury of Her Peers , Minnie Wright is judged by her peers, and by their knowledge of her prior life, her
current circumstances, and forced destitution, she is found innocent. In the story, Mrs. Hale and Mrs.
Peters accompany their husbands to the Wright home in a quest to find evidence implicating Minnie
Wright in the murder of her husband. From the moment they enter the home, Mrs. Hale is sympathetic
to Minnie Wright. When the county attorney looks over Minnie Wrights kitchen and states, Not much
of a housekeeper, would you say ladies? Mrs. Hale s stiff reply is, There s a great deal of work to be
done on a farm. Although Mrs. Peters begins the story with a firm stance of support for her husband
saying, Of course it s no more than their duty, in response to Mrs. Hales comment about the men
snooping. However; as the story progresses, Mrs. Peters views begin to match with Mrs. Hale. Being
home makers themselves, it is hard for the women not to notice how poorly accommodated Minnie
has been in her material items. Mrs. Peters goes about the task for which she came, retrieving the
clothing items Minnie requested. Soon, Mrs. Hale exclaims, Wright was close! realizing, after

Persuasive Essay On Little Boy
War World two had been going on for six years, it had started when German had invaded Poland in
1939. During the summer of 1945 War World Two would be going on across several different
continents. Japan wanted to fight until they won. The United States had warned Japan if they

Truman had launch an Atomic Bomb nickname Little Boy ; On a Japanese city called Hiroshima.
Even though Hiroshima was really never part of the war. Hiroshima had a part, the city of Hiroshima

Napoleon s Tactics Of His Empire During His Reign As Emperor
Ambitious. Methodical. Precise. These are some of many words that could describe the strategies that
Napoleon used to amplify his empire during his reign as emperor. Arrogant. Exorbitant. Unplanned.
These words can also be used to describe some of Napoleon s warfare strategies. Inspired by other
world leaders and empires such as Alexander the Great and Julius Caesar, Napoleon in many ways
stood on the shoulders of giants. He saw the possibilities and prospects available to him through
conquest and subjugation of neighboring countries. It was both this opportunistic and arrogant attitude
that led to his successes and downfalls. After considering Napoleon s campaign, it is difficult to fully

Rosemary), superior morale, and large numbers in the army. These tactical choices made Napoleon a
force to be reckoned with. In the beginning of his career, he was very successful in terms of military
tactics and taking control of different countries. Take, for example, the First Italian Campaign of 1796,
where Napoleon s troops were outnumbered by about 25,000 soldiers. By observing the troop s
movements and tactics, he discovered their strategies and using reasoning, he scattered the opposing
forces and took each portion on separately. His strategy is described best in the following: When faced
with superior numbers, he would divide the enemy army and defeat each section individually by
skillfully deploying his reserves at the right time and place. When faced with inferior numbers, he
would smash into an opponent s flank, distracting them and damaging morale. (St. Rosemary) It is
said that Bonaparte had accomplished virtual miracles, [...] defeating three different Austrian
commanders, despite his inferior troop numbers and artillery and nonexistent logistical support.
(Schom, pg. 58) It was a close battle, and the French army may have nearly lost, but Napoleon did
manage to keep his troops stable enough to succeed against the odds.
Various other battles played out similarly. In different campaigns ranging from the Second Italian
Campaign to the Prussian and

  • 2. Character Analysis Of White Fang Through both brutal and loving actions, the characters in White Fang thrive to become the best. White Fang was taught from young to become fit for the environment of which he faced. Weedon Scott cherishes White Fang, being the best master White Fang could have. Kiche faced unmanageable situations, but she still managed to survive. These are the most significant characters in White Fang that stood out to survive and become the fittest. The character White Fang demonstrates survival of the fittest through his many actions. First, White Fang was taught since youth to hunt for his own food. A couple years later, Kiche met up with White Fang and she did not recognize him because White Fang matured and looked older. Kiche s instinct was to claw White Fang because she thought he was trying to hurt her newborn cubs. (London, 134) This made White Fang and Kiche mentally stronger, so they could both move on with their new life. • 3. The Movie Zombies By Issac Marion Love, romance, and comedies have always been a success in whether it be books or movies. These are genres that throughout centuries have succeeded in standing the tests of time. The author Issac Marion took on this genre with an undead twist. Marion published a book about a zombie, R, and his perspective of the now post apocalyptic world. As the story progresses, the audience sees what zombie life is, R s experience of love, and the war between the living and the undead. Three years after publishing the book, Jonathan Levine created the movie adaptation. Zombies, at the time of the movie release, were perceived as romantic in an eerie way. Through the filmmakers, careful consideration of what to put in the scenes, what music to use, and even which actors to hire, caused to the movie s success. The filmmakers interpreted the book s agents into more teen relatable characters to make the movie relatable and more of a success. Originally the book suggests R s character as a business type man. Marion described him as wearing black dress pants, gray button up, and a tie which gives him more of a mid to late twenties age range(Rawden). In the book, R has children and a marriage which would also cause for little to no interest in younger audiences since most teenagers and young adults cannot relate to this. This However, the film depicts him more of a teen or early twenties by wearing ripped jeans, simple white tee, sneakers, and a red hoodie. This change in the character s physical appearance would cause for the younger movie audiences to relate more, connect more, and ultimately causing them to have more interest in the movie. The filmmakers of the movie also chose to pick very young looking actors to emphasize this teen romance theme in the movie. In contrast, they chose R s best friend, an older looking actor, to contrast these film s young leading stars. If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Technology Enhanced Simulation Training With Debriefing BACKGROUND: Innovations within the healthcare industry related to scientific and technical advancements often lead to changes in healthcare delivery. To cope with these changes, it is necessary to prepare and train healthcare workers to improve employees knowledge and the quality of care. Limited clinical experience with the mechanical ventilation approach, like high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV), makes its implementation difficult in the real critical care world. The authors investigated the effectiveness of technology enhanced simulation with debriefing in improving participants confidence level, cognitive knowledge and psychomotor skills in using SensorMedics 3100B high frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) in adult patients. METHODS: This is a quasi experimental research design with pre and post tests. The educational strategy involved technology enhanced simulation training with debriefing. The population included critical care respiratory therapists, residents, fellows and attending physicians at Rush University Medical Center. RESULT: Twenty six participants were included for data analysis; 12 respiratory therapists and 14 critical care physicians. There were almost an equal number of females (53.8%) and males (46.2%). • 13. Taking a Look at Coordinating Compounds Coordinating compounds, usually noted by their Indo Aryan name dvandva . Coordination complexes were notable since the start of chemistry. The definition and border of the class of coordinating compounds involves two issues: initially, what a compound is and how can we distinguish coordinative compounds from alternative multiword expressions; second, the understanding of what coordination is, and the way it s to be distinguished from alternative, non symmetrical relations (e.g. subordination). The major breakthrough occurred once Alfred Werner put forward in 1893 that Co(III) bears six ligands in an octahedral geometry. His theory permits one to grasp the distinction between coordinated and ionic in a compound, for instance chloride within the cobalt ammine chlorides and to clarify several of the earlier unexplainable isomers. In 1914, Werner resolved the first coordination complex, known as hexol, into optical isomers, overthrowing the idea that solely carbon compounds may possess chirality. Introduction Coordination compound is a compound formed from a Lewis acid and a Brønsted base , a Lewis acid being an electron pair acceptor and a Brønsted base a proton acceptor. As I now reflect on the two sessions I taught that day, I wonder if I could have ever been truly prepared for them. I believed I had everything lined out and timed to take us right up to the time their session was over. However, that was not the case because the scouts knew a considerable amount more about the subject than I realized. I feel honored to have been able to work with such intelligent groups of scouts. During the first session, I quickly realized that these Cub Scouts knew an impressive amount about the information I was presenting, so I forced myself to change how I was presenting the material. I engaged the scouts into the material by asking each one tons of questions about what they already knew. Then I made sure they stayed busy with hands on activities that really engrossed them into the material. I believe that when I had to change my lesson plans on the spot, I did decently well.
