Cleopatra And Elizabeth I Research Paper
Throughout ancient times there has been many rulers who ve made history. Two of the most famous
female leaders throughout history have been Cleopatra and Elizabeth I. These two rulers had a big
impact on their nations throughout their regime. With their intelligence and wits they did a great deal
for their people. They both influenced their people and demonstrated that women could also rule a
kingdom. Cleopatra was born around the time of 69 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt. She was part of the
Ptolemaic dynasty and ascended the throne when she was 18 years old with her younger brother.
Elizabeth I was born on September 7, 1533 in Greenwich England. Elizabeth I was declared
illegitimate but she eventually claimed the throne at age 25. Cleopatra ruled from 51 B.C. to 30 B.C.
and Elizabeth I ruled from 1558 to 1603. Cleopatra and Elizabeth I both defeated plots against them,
were independent rulers, and were big supporters of the arts. However, although Cleopatra tried to
maintain Egypt s independence, ally with important Roman leaders, and be loved by her people,
Elizabeth I helped her nation the most by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When Cleopatra was having trouble with her brother, Ptolemy XIII, she saw Julius Caesar as a
valuable ally in her fight for the throne. She ordered a servant to wrap her in a carpet so she could
sneak into the palace and present herself to him. It is said that the gesture won over Rome s future
dictator for life . Julius accepted to help her and they became intimate and had a child together.
Unfortunately, Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C. After his death Cleopatra formed a political
and romantic partnership with Roman general, Mark Antony. They had three children together, and
opposed an enemy named Octavian. In 30 B.C., Mark Antony was captured and forced to kill himself
by Octavian. This resulted in Cleopatra s death when she committed suicide after hearing that Mark

Brunswick Landing Marina Research Paper
From a boater s perspective, whether or not to stop over somewhere depends on whether or not there s
a good marina. The town of Brunswick, Georgia and Brunswick Landing Marina is such a great
stopping spot that many travelers use it as a regular break in the journey. The town itself has lots to

Street. The history of the town and all the great locations nearby, go back to precolonial times. This
town is more meets the eye, because there s business and industry going on here too. It s a very
thriving community and area with plenty for any boater or traveler to appreciate. The marina alone

Research Paper On Alfred Adler
Compared to psychoanalysts of Victorian Era, Alfred Adler looked at psychology from a more holistic,
humanistic and positive perspective. He was convinced that the main focus should be shifted from
biological needs, drives and instincts to individual differences, experience, interaction and social
environment. Adler placed great emphasis on sibling and peer group relationships, social interest and
achieving perfection. He also introduced the terms inferiority and superiority complex, so commonly
used nowadays, to the world.
Inferiority, Superiority and Perfection According to Adler, the feeling of inferiority is an inseparable
part of human existence. And in order to overcome that feeling one must compensate. In other words,

Hence, his theory developed overtime and changed in resonance to how Adler solved his internal and
internal conflicts. In his early years, Adler focused more on how hunger for power and superiority
motivated growth and striving for perfection. Later in his life, he shifter his focus toward social
interest. Because of these changes some consider Adler s theory inconsistent or even scientifically
unreliable. Adler was considerably deterministic the process of personality formation and especially
about the time period when that happened. He claimed that once a personality is formed, it does not
change significantly. In Adler s opinion the formation of personality took place at the age of 4 or 5.
From the perspective of modern psychology, the extent to which Adler s theory about the order of
birth is scientific is highly debatable. Many of his concepts are not measurable or manipulable, and his
variable are neither physical nor behavioral. Adler did not consider measurement or an experimental
approach in general as the most efficient approach to

Fifteen years from now I picture myself loading SCUBA gear into an old, beaten up dive boat. I feel
the morning breeze dissipate from my skin as I pull my wetsuit up to my waist. The salty air whips
through my hair as we navigate through the winding canals of a small tropical town until we find our
way to the ocean. As we tie up to the bright yellow mooring line I squish my body into the rest of my
wetsuit and slip into my prearranged dive gear. I take a deep breath out of my regulator and taste the
familiar, cool, dry air. After strapping on my trusty bright yellow mask, I clip my slate onto my BCD. I

This domino effect would have continued until nearly all species were affected and a trophic cascade
occured. As a marine biologist I want to be able to prevent events like these in all areas of the world. If
a full trophic cascade had occurred in the Chesapeake Bay we would not have recovered for many
years. Not only would we have lost a vital staple in our ecosystem but the local economy would have
experienced a major hit. Thousands of people involved in the fishing trade, restaurants, and
multimillion dollar businesses such as tourism and sport fishing would have no medium to work with
and instantly be out of work. I want to work in shark conservation to keep both the ecosystem and
economy afloat above and below water.
My dream of researching sharks did not begin at an early age. During visits to aquariums I was always
nervous when we got to the shark section. My passion didn t blossom until the summer of 2012 when
I had the choice to visit Bonaire for underwater photography or Fiji for shark research. Bracing my
adventurous side, I chose to travel to Fiji. During this trip I spent tens of hours on the bottom of the
ocean observing and admiring several different species of sharks. Watching a colossal bull shark glide
through the water to gently grasp a tuna head from a diver made me

Social Marketing For Public Health
Interestingly, a key focus in Cheng, Kotler and Lee s Social Marketing for Public Health book remains
not only relevant but significant in current social marketing interventions. The authors discussion of
public health issues found that for such social issues to experience a behavioural change, no single
agency is able to make a dent by itself, (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011) hence it was recognised that a
global trend in using partnerships at; local, national or international levels is a better way to enforce
individuals to get involved (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011).
At present, the five year ambition to introduce early intervention services through psychological
therapies remain encouraged by policy makers, in the belief that the more awareness for the project at
a local scale, will help reduce the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health (Gov.uk,
2015) and encourage more people to speak out and seek the medical support they need. (Gov.uk,
2015). The NHS programme runs through the partnership of Child Adolescent Mental Health Services
(CAMHS) to actively focus on the needs of children and young people by offering assessment and
treatment for those who may suffer from emotional, behavioural, or mental health difficulties.
Prior to the financial increase in psychological therapies, the programme ran a pilot scheme in 2011 to
test out whether the intervention was able to benefit those struggling with stress, anxiety or depression

Advertisement Coursework
Missing Image/Advertisement Image This advertisement has been created to promote the Volkswagen
Golf Gt to an environmentally friendly audience. It achieves this by using the powerful juxtaposition
of a peaceful image contrasting with a dark and violent scene. To further this contrast, the advertiser
has placed the car directly in the center. This implies there are two very different personalities to the
car. Effectively personifying the car. Upon further examination of the image, we see varied features.
On the dark side, we see a covered moon. This may be used to convey a sense of mystery or possibly
to give the impression that the car is a beast. This relates to the classic movie image of werewolves

Assumingly, the deer is there as the embodiment of peace in the image. Whereas, the violence is
embodied within the wolves. Verbal Text The initial text we see is a parallel phrase. ?High
performance, low emissions,? suggesting the best of both worlds. This is because of the constant
image that we gather from the car industry is that of harming the planet. High performance is not
something we relate with low emissions. The words ?high? and ?low? are antonyms reflecting the
dual nature of the car. In the main block of text, the writer initially uses the word ?welcome? to forge a
personal relation with the audience. As if to invite you to ?the world of the new look Golf Gt.? This is
done to attract you to the advert as friendly and attractive. The text speaks directly to the audience, so
they feel privileged, as if they have special access. In the sentence ?Voted Best New Engine 2006?,
every word begins with capital letters. This is to express that the car has won an award, so it has an
official title. The writer constantly repeats the word ?new? to present what the car is. Different to
anything else. The advert lists the features to build up to an implication of extra features. These are
incentives to indicate the car?s value for money. The subject specific jargon is there for a reason. To
make the audience feel intelligent. In turn, makes the writers emerge as experts. The use of imperative

The Phases And Development Of The Early Modern English Period
The Early Modern English phase (1500 1800) was followed after the Middle English Era. The Modern
English phase is sub divided into the early and late phases. The Late Mordern English phase is
followed by the Modern English phase. By the end of the Middle English Era, the great vowel shift
had begun. Events that took place during this era helped in shaping the English language the way it is
today. British was in contact with many other countries. This lead to the development of new words
and phrases and hence a greater addition in vocabulary. Development of new words created a need for
a dictionary. The first English dictionary was published in 1604. During this period English language

Age Effects Of Materialism Across The Lifespan
Many people put possessions and acquirements as their main focus at certain periods in their lifespan.
The value or lack thereof each individual puts on their possessions dictates the way they act upon and
percieve what is important at various stages in life. These values as they change over the lifespan have
great significance over the way individuals consume and their overall happiness. The crucial need for
possessions and acquistions to obtain a level of satisifaction and happiness can be described as
materialism. Individuals materialistic values change across the lifespan, however, there are factors
such as age effects, cohort effects, and period effects that increase or decrease the value of materialism
in a certain individual s life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Hearing Loss At A Patient
Abstract
Hearing aids are electronic devices that are used to enhance the hearing of a patient that has various
types of hearing loss. Loss of hearing for a patient has a huge impact on the quality of life in which
communication is a big part of every day. These needs are to be understood and addressed by the
nursing professional and healthcare team to enhance safety in daily activities of a hearing impaired
patient. The importance of the nursing professionals to be educated in the assessment, types, care,
interventions and safety of the hearing devices is imperative. Nursing professionals need to use the
knowledge of the hearing aids available, how to safely use the device and the proper care for their new
device provided it is prescribed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Weber and Rinne test are used to determine if hearing is normal or if conductive and
sensorineural hearing loss are present. The Rinne test compares air and bone conduction hearing; the
test consists of striking a 512 Hz tuning fork at the base of the mastoid bone (located behind the ear)
(Lewis et al., 2011) and is a time interval test. Time interval is when bone conduction sound is heard
longer than or equal to air conduction with conductive hearing loss and with sensorineural hearing loss
the air conduction is heard longer than the bone conduction in the affected ear (Devitt, (n.d.). Since
there are different types of hearing aids, external and internal this assessment is a valuable tool for the
physician to determine what may be best for each specific patient. For the external hearing aids it has
been determined by research printed in the American Journal of Audiology that fitting hearing aids
bilateral instead of monaural will often result in better patient compliance (Lavie, Banai, Attias, Karni,
2014). Bilateral fittings usually have a lesser risk of noncompliance and enhancing a better outcome
for the patient. Nurses can provide referral sources for a patient who is in need of additional support
services that nursing cannot provide. Such as when a patient fails a hearing screening and when
hearing aids are not functioning or ill fitted. By collaborating with the others in the healthcare team
there will be enhancement of the patient s health and

An Analysis of the U.S. Health Club Industry in 2004 and the Role of Bally Total Fitness
Executive Summary Introduction
The rise of the U.S. health club industry can be traced back to the 1980s and 1990s when the majority
of health clubs emerged. By 2004, this $14 billion industry claimed 41 million members. Although the
health club industry operated in a perfectly competitive market, several prominent key players gained
large market share, including Bally Total Fitness and 24 hour Fitness. This perfect competition
encouraged entry of smaller emerging firms into the industry. In 2004, the health club industry

Before long, Bally boasted presence in over 360 outlets in the U.S. and more than 50 internationally.
Analysis
A number of recognizable key factors are responsible for the rise of the health club phenomenon. The
most notable factor was the growing concern of people s overall health and well being. Awareness
about the impact of obesity related diseases on the quality of life and available health resources was
heightened, especially following a statement issued by the Surgeon General s office, which estimated
the annual mortality resulting from obesity complications to be over a quarter of a million. Further
research at the time showed about 6 in 10 American adults were overweight or obese, with only 4 in
10 adults falling within the healthy people indicator bracket. Between 1964 and 2004, 28 Surgeon
General s reports had been issued, all of which described the epidemiology and health consequences
of unhealthy behaviors.1. This general awareness resulted in about 17% of the U.S. population
becoming more enthusiastically committed to fitness activities, with 63% recognizing the importance
of fitness activities and 25% of whom actually attending health fitness clubs. Also, a recent survey
showed that 37% of exercisers were motivated by the desire to control weight. Consciousness about
body image and the desire to reduce stress and meet new people also had an impact on the health club
phenomenon.

Rural Poverty Stricken County Of Hale County
Hale County
Hale County, considered one of the most poverty stricken rural counties in Alabama. Located in the
west section of Alabama. Hale County shares borders with Tuscaloosa, Bibb, Perry, Marengo, and
Greene counties. Hale County once referred to as the Black Belt was once known for its rich soil and
crop production. Currently the cash produce is catfish. The county has a lot of catfish ponds. The
switch to catfish farms allowed the county to move away from producing cotton. The county is named
after Confederate Officer Stephen Hale who died during the Civil War. The county was established in

Key Tips For Start Guitar Players
So you re thinking about learning guitar? Maybe your in your first few days and can t quite get your
fingers to reach all the strings at the same time. Perhaps you are having trouble getting the rhythm you
want. Well in this article I am going to give you a few key tips for beginning guitar players that will
hopefully help you. Playing guitar is something that most people would like to be able to do. Just
about everyone likes the sound and anyone who can play, instantly becomes popular simply because
of that. Now, there are some people who are naturally gifted musicians and can pick up any instrument
and learn it. However there is hope even for those of us who are not! Anyone can learn guitar with a
little bit of discipline and practice. Which is tip number one: Practice every day! If you practice every
day, even if only ten minutes, you will very soon see results. You re fingers will begin to get callused
and not hurt when you play. They will become more limber and your rhythm will improve as well.
Keep in mind that no great musician started great. They had to learn and practice hard into order to get
to the level of playing skill that they have today. So don t expect to be there in your first week, or even
first month. Tip number two is for learning rhythm. I have found that the best way to do so is to pick
just one simple song with a simple rhythm. Then practice only that song until you have mastered the
rhythm. It may take a little while and it may be frustrating

Mars has red soil since the surface is rusted in that it is rich in Iron Oxide. It is rusted because iron,
when left outside, reacts with the water and oxygen in the air to form a rust (iron oxide) cover over the

the Virginia Tech shooting. Cho killed 33 people and injured 18 more. I am going to explain a little of
who Cho is and some information about the Virginia Tech shooting. I will also explain the motives
behind the why he did the shooting and how officers responded to the crime. Finally, I will explain
how Virginia Tech and campuses across the nations have changed there active shooter situations.
Seung hui Cho was according to Biography.com an immigrant who came to America from south
Korea when he was 8 years old. When he moved to America he lived in Virginia. During grade school

According to The New York Times in 2005 Cho was scheduled for an appointment with campus
counseling after he made suicidal statements. However, Cho never made a follow up appointment and
never was his parents informed of his mental state. If campus officials did the job they were supposed
to they could have caught the problem before it occurred. Another reason to blame the university is
that the university should have locked down campus after the initial incident. If the campus would
have locked down after the shooting at the dorm it could have decreased the death totals. That is some
things that the university was criticized for.
The Virginia Tech shooting and the sandy hook shooting both are very similar. The sandy hook
shooting was a shooting at an elementary school. The killer killed 20 staff and children before he took
his own life. Just like the Virginia Tech shooting it was planed by two social outcasts and they were
both bullied in school. The sandy hook killer was had a history of bad mental health just like the
Virginia Tech shooter. If there was better mental health help at schools, they would be able to catch

Tortilla Curtain, Candido And America
In Tortilla Curtain, Candido and America have a very difficult time living in Los Angeles. Being
illegal immigrants is harder than they thought. Delaney Mossbacher, a middle class man, hit Candido
Rincon, a Mexican immigrant, with his car as he was crossing the road. Candido was badly injured,
but accepted twenty dollars from Delaney and ended up going their own ways. Delaney, his wife, and
stepson, Jordan, live their routine life in a neighborhood called Arroyo Blanco. This incident left
Candido battered and close to death. After the incident, Delaney went from liberal humanist to racist
elitist. This incident also turned Candido from a diligent immigrant to an individual who commits
crimes. Candido blamed having bad luck on his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To America, the American dream was not living in a huge, fancy house, but to have a house, a yard,
maybe a TV and a car too nothing fancy, no palaces like the gringos built just four walls and a roof
(Boyle 29). The typical immigrant does not come to American with the intentions of becoming
wealthy. They come to American to have a better opportunity in life. To be able to own a home, work
and have a family. According to The New York Times, The phrase American dream was invented
during the Great Depression. It comes from a popular 1931 book by the historian James Truslow
Adama, who defines it as, that dream of a land in while life should be better and richer and fuller for
everyone. In the decades that followed, the dream became a reality. Thanks to rapid, widely shared
economic growth, nearly all children grew up to achieve the most basic definition of a better life
earning more money and enjoying higher living standards than their parents had. Learning that us
Americans are likely to achieve the American dream shows that it is all that much more difficult for
immigrants and even more so for illegal immigrants. T.C Boyle, in Tortilla Curtain, attempts to show
the separation between the American dream of the community of immigrants and the American dream
of the whites.
In the book, immigrants gather each and every day at a place called the labor exchange in hopes that
someone will need workers in need to cheap labor. Most of the days, the men

Amalgam Research Paper
I am writing my paper on amalgam history in dentistry. Amalgam was developed in England and
France it consisted of silver, tin, copper, zinc, and mercury. It was not openly embraced by organized
dentistry in America until the 1840s. The Crawcour brothers brought amalgam into the United States
in 1833. Half of the people with dental restorations in upstate New York consisted of amalgam in
1844. The American Society of Dental Surgeons made all of the members to sign a pledge that
restricted them from using mercury fillings, because at the time it was considered to be malpractice.
That created the first dental amalgam war, but it ended in 1856 with cancelation of the association.
In 1859 the American Dental Association (ADA) was founded and took the place of the American
Society of Dental Surgeons. The ADA strongly defended amalgam from the allegations of being too
risky from the health standpoint. In 1930 the ratio of the mercury to the remaining metallic mixture
was sixty six to thirty three. Conventional amalgams (gamma 2) has thirty two percent silver and
fourteen percent tin due to the low copper content they are most susceptible to corrosion. Non gamma
2 amalgams have been developed but are found to release high levels of mercury vapor compared with

from the amalgam can trigger illness such as Hodgkin s disease and sickle cell anemia. Dr. Pinto sent
Huggins many studies on amalgam research; Huggins learned about the amalgam health issue and

Suspense In Stephen King
Most readers identify Stephen King s works as horror, however he sees them as suspense novels
(citation needed). Stephen King is often associated with the horror genre because of his excessive use
of gore in his novels. However, gore is merely a side agenda that helps King shape his ideas. Instead,
King s main goal is to create suspense. By creating a vivid image of the impact of a murder, rape, or
other catastrophe he is able to foster his goal by unnerving his reader and creating a conflict. Stephen
King s extensive and creative use of detail and literary elements in his novels assists the motive for the
conflict between good and evil, constructs a complete depiction of the supernatural and reality, and
builds an ongoing sense of tension. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, King writes Big Jim dropped the ball to his side. His shoulder was throbbing. Now
blood was pouring onto the carpet, and still the son of a buck [Coggins, priest] wouldn t go down; still
he came forward, trying to talk and spitting scarlet in a fine spray (King 292). First, this example
shows the great detail he goes into when describing a murder. Second, this quote shows how he used
the detail to magnify the evil in Big Jim. Most importantly, it sets up the story for Big Jim to frame
Barbie, the good guy, for the murder of Coggins and three others. Lucky for Jim, people trust him
because he has been in Chester s Mill longer than Barbie. Sadly, this means Barbie s friends have to
come together to destroy the corruption set up by Big Jim. Thus, this detail sets up the battle between
good and evil. Consistently, King uses this method to shape the consequence of a

Lethal Injections and the Involvement of Medical Personnel
Death penalty, or capital punishment, is the execution of a person as a punishment for a crime.
Throughout history, the death penalty has been a prominent part of society. In ancient Mesopotamia,
the death penalty was seen as retribution for certain crimes, and to this day, is now a common practice
in the United States. Before, when the United States were still colonies, the death penalty had been
carried out by hanging and other various methods but today in the modern age, the Unites States
method of execution in most states is lethal injection (Issitt). Unlike previous methods, such as
electrocution and the firing squad, the lethal injection is virtually painlessly due to certain drugs being
injected into the patient that put the patient to sleep during the process. Due to its medical nature,
medical personnel, such as anesthesiologists are needed to administer the drugs, but is it ethical for
them to participate in the execution of people?
Throughout the process of a lethal injection, there are many drugs inserted into the prisoner. Before
the drugs are administered, the prisoner is first brought into a room, that looks very much like a
hospital room, with all the medical equipment inside. Within the room, there is a cardiac monitor, and
other medical items. The inmate is then strapped to trolley, much like the one below: And hooked up

Working Together in Robert Frost s Mending Wall
The air is cool and crisp. Roosters can be heard welcoming the sun to a new day and a woman is seen,
wearing a clean colorful wrap about her body and head, her shadow casting a lone silhouette on the
stone wall. The woman leans over to slide a piece of paper into one of the cracks, hoping her prayer
will be heard in this city of Jerusalem. Millions are inserting their prayers into the walls of Japanese
temples, while an inmate in one of a hundred prisons across the United States looks past his wall
toward the prayers he did not keep. Billions fall asleep each night surrounded by four walls and
thousands travel to China to witness the grandest one of all. Who builds walls and who ... Show more

He blames it upon the cold ravages of a winter swell and the indifferent attitude of hunters searching
out a hare. By leaving the question a mystery the speaker is able to entertain himself with fantasies of
elves and ideas of fiction, to fill a winter s long mind made mischievious by the spring season
(Lentricchia 105).
In defense of why a wall should be maintained the farmer merely states his father s saying, Good
fences make good neighbors (Frost 28). The farmer does not have any real proof of why the wall
should be put back each spring, when there is no threat of livestock crossing the borders. When
questioned a second time he gave the same answer and again without giving the reason why fences
make good neighbors. Family tradition and work ethic seem to be this farmer s motivation. He seeks
to get the wall completed where the speaker appears more entertained by the activity (Barry 145). The
farmer s mechanical repair of the fence is imagined in the eyes of the speaker as an old stone savage
armed (Stanford 40).
Before attitudes can be discussed first the poem s moral must be decided. Mending Wall does not take
the approach of right and wrong, rather it shows two perspectives. There is the speaker who seeks a
release from the dull ritual of work each spring and the farmer, who is trapped by work and the New
England past (Lentricchia 106). Two

Analysis Of Amusing Ourselves To Death By Neil Postman
Amusing Ourselves to Death, written by Neil Postman analyzes the true meaning of entertainment and
explores how it affects our lives today. Entertainment is the action of providing or being provided with
amusement or enjoyment, (dictionary.com). According to Postman television has had an extremely
negative effect on the public discourse of contemporary America. Postman compares his book to
Aldous Huxley s, Brave New World, which communicates that people are too amused and are
becoming weak and defenseless. In Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of
Show Business, author Neil Postman clearly reflects a negative bias in his analysis against television s
modern culture, using examples of politics and news.

this for is it not television itself, it is the offspring of the intercourse between telegraphy and

Postman uses journalist Christine Craft as an example. Christine was fired from her job as a news

create a state of mind and communicate to viewers not to be alarmed. If there was no music viewers
would expect something truly alarming, possibly life altering (Postman 102). Postman concluding his
thoughts about news by saying, the value of news is determined by the laughs it provides, (Postman
113). Can we survive in a world that cares more about entertaining it s audience than trying to fix the
world and make people more aware of the problems we face?

Free Time Periods By Nathanial Hawthorne And Benjamin...
Despite writing in different time periods, Nathanial Hawthorne and Benjamin Franklin both
demonstrate strong opinions about democratic equality in America. Through his short stories,
Hawthorne writes cautionary tales demonstrating the fear and confusion that Puritan characters have
when they discover the sinfulness of others. Franklin writes about the inequality in America but gives
the reader a method for overcoming this inequality and making the most out of oneself. While
Franklin and Hawthorne both argue for democratic equality, there are important differences in their
writings in the way to achieve equality. Throughout this paper, I will compare and contrast these two
authors and then make the argument that Hawthorne s writings are more persuasive since they
demonstrate the constant struggle between morality and individualism, a challenge that still exists in
the 21st century.
In Benjamin Franklin s Autobiography, he writes about his remarkable life and career, but also maps
out how common folk can create their own success in America. Franklin lays out certain virtues that
he believes people should cultivate if they want to improve themselves and create success from
nothing, as he did. For example, I included under thirteen names of virtues all that at that time occurr
d to me as necessary or desirable. He argues that it is not exceptional ability that cultivates success but
a devotion to serving others and the discipline needed to pursue the virtues that

Glaucoma Research Paper
A common misconception is that glaucoma is a singular disease, in fact, it is a collaboration of many
diseases in the eyes that cause glaucoma. these diseases can often lead to loss of vision but, if caught
early, glaucoma, or the smaller diseases which lead to it, can be treated. Like many other diseases, if
caught early, the lasting effects will lessen. The most effected part of the eye is the optic nerve. The
optic nerve s main purpose is to connect the retina and the brain, as to send what the human is seeing
to the brain to process the visual information. The optic nerve contains more than one billion nerve
fibers which each give off their own electrical impulses to send the visual information to the occipital
lobes in the brain. The occipital lobe then processes the information which it receives. The most
prominent type of glaucoma is Open Angle Glaucoma. Open Angle Glaucoma occurs due to the build
up of fluid in the eye. In a fully functional eye, the fluid is secreted continuously and drains out in the
open angle where the iris and the cornea meet. Although the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In This Essay I Will Compare A Few Of The Major Points
In this essay I will compare a few of the major points in Christian theology from church fathers from
before the Reformation, Pierre Abelard, St. Francis of Assisi, Augustine of Hippo, and Pelagius, with
those of modern Christian theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer . This essay will discuss the thought before
and after the Reformation on how and why people sin. Next, it will discuss idea of free will and how
the church fathers and philosophers agree or disagree on the topic. Lastly, I will compare the notion of
unification of religion before the Reformation with the disconnection from religion that Bonhoeffer
proposes with his theory of religionless Christianity. These points include a combination of topics

Once that was mostly established, many, like Pierre Abelard went on to think about how or why
people sin. Do people sin by choice or are people completely helpless when it comes to resisting
temptation. Abelard thought believed that sin is subjective. Sin is inside us all and, and although we
choose to give into sinful desires, it is through divine grace that we seek out the love of Jesus. It is not
the sin itself but the intention in the heart of the person committing an act that could be considered sin
under certain circumstances. If a person kills another person, it is not the act of killing that is a sin but
the intent behind the killing. If the killing was an accident or self defense it is different from
maliciously committing murder, or intending to kill another person.
St. Francis of Assisi would say that sin is objective: the act of sin without knowingly or deliberately
committing the sin. Intention has no part in whether or not an act is considered. Sin is sin regardless of
intent. With the legacy of St. Francis ministry, the order called The friars , it seems that St. Francis was
more concerned with good works as a means of salvation. However, works would mean nothing if
there was not good intent behind them.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer believes we are not judged by our works, but are saved by grace. A person must
first be called to a life of Christ. This call is His grace. Reject the call

Old Spice Has A Storied History Essay
Introduction
Old Spice has a storied history as cologne that is favored by both men and women. During the 1970s
and 1980s, the brand relied heavily on nautical ocean scenes in their commercials and sex appeal.
However, after years of success, Old Spice became known as old guys cologne. By the early 1990s,
Old Spice s ability to survive and endure over the course of several decades became its downfall. Old
Spice had become an icon associated with old men. The younger generation of boys and men mostly
recognized Old Spice as something their fathers and grandfathers wore, which resulted in a lack of
interest for the product, (Neilly, 2014). Old Spice realized that their traditional nautical themed
advertising no longer appealed to their target audience of young men ages 12 34 so they decided to
rebrand.
Old Spice Man Television Commercials In 2010, Old Spice introduced their latest spokesman the Old
Spice Man.
With the NFL football player turned actor, Isaiah Mustafa, they created a series of commercials that
not only specifically addressed the ladies, but talked about what makes men manly. These
advertisements were so successful, they garnered record amounts of YouTube, (Neilly, 2014). The Old
Spice Man was someone that the target audience would recognize as a professional athlete and a
masculine icon. Another successful aspect of the Old Spice campaign is the fast paced filming styles.

ending the Great Depression. Before Franklin D. Roosevelt was president, he was the assistant
secretary of the navy during the World War I. He was paralyzed in both legs from a condition called

personality also. However, they noted that before his disability he was somewhat arrogant and
overbearing. His painful experience made him understand the disabled and disadvantages better. It
made him much more determined to succeed instead of feeling sorry for himself. He was elected

Essay about 19th Century Women
19th Century Women
Works Cited Missing
Women in the nineteenth century, for the most part, had to follow the common role presented to them
by society. This role can be summed up by what historians call the cult of domesticity . The McGuffey
Readers does a successful job at illustrating the women s role in society. Women that took part in the
overland trail as described in Women s Diaries of the Westward Journey had to try to follow these
roles while facing many challenges that made it very difficult to do so.
One of the most common expectations for women then is that they are responsible for doing the chore
of cleaning whether it is cleaning the house, doing the laundry. The McGuffey Readers mentions the

In addition, to show what the editor said in the McGuffey s there is a poem that is from a child s point
of view talking about his mother, Smooth the few silver threads out of my hair; Over my slumbers

the mother is to watch over her children and take care of them. Moreover, in the Women s Diaries it
talks about the hardship mothers had, Accounts shade and darken in the pages of women whose
energies were spent nursing and caring for infants and small children (Schlissel 115). It says that their
diaries turn in essence bleak because they are being overwhelmed with so many duties and then on top
of that having to care for the children. Being on the trail made it very difficult for the women to
perform these duties as the author points out, The West to them meant the challenge of rearing a
family and maintaining domestic order against the disordered life on the frontier (Schlissel 115). The
women had to face to challenge and they did in a way that shows that the men were not the only ones
who had an immense amount of courage in this great undertaking.
An integral part of the nineteenth century Victorian way of life was having strong morals. The women
were seen as pure beings and therefore it was there job to keep the family unit moral. In The
McGuffey s it tells of how the morals were taught to kids

2008 Us Economic Recession
INTRODUCTIONS
The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis
since the Great Depression of the 1930s. It resulted in the threat of total collapse of large financial
institutions, the bailout of small and big banks by national governments, and downturns in stock
markets around the world. In United States, the housing market also suffered, resulting in evictions,
foreclosures and prolonged unemployment. The crisis played a significant role in the failure of key
businesses, declines in consumer confidence, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of US
dollars, and a downturn in economic activity leading to the 2008 2012 global recession and

By September 2008, average U.S. housing prices had declined by over 20% from their mid 2006 peak.
As prices declined, borrowers with adjustable rate mortgages could not refinance to avoid the higher
payments associated with rising interest rates and began to default. During 2007, lenders began
foreclosure proceedings on nearly 1.3 million properties, a 79% increase over 2006. This increased to
2.3 million in 2008, an 81% increase vs. 2007. By August 2008, 9.2% of all U.S. mortgages
outstanding were either delinquent or in foreclosure. By September 2009, this had risen to 14.4%

Lower interest rates encouraged borrowing. From 2000 to 2003, the Federal Reserve lowered the
federal funds rate target from 6.5% to 1.0%.[68] This was done to soften the effects of the collapse of
the dot com bubble and the September 2001 terrorist attacks. The Fed then raised the Fed funds rate
significantly between July 2004 and July 2006. This contributed to an increase in 1 year and 5 year
adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) rates, making ARM interest rate resets more expensive for
homeowners. This may have also contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble, as asset prices
generally move inversely to interest rates, and it became riskier to speculate in housing.

Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado
Introduction
Mesa Verde National Park, located in Montezuma County, Colorado, was established in 1906 by
President Theodore Roosevelt. This United States landmark was designated for the preservation of
several Puebloan archeological sites and the vast geologic history exhibited within the 52,485 acres of
land occupied by Mesa Verde. The Ancestral Puebloans, or Mesa Verdeans, associated with the
archeological sites of Mesa Verde National Park, lived in the Mesa Verde region from the mid sixth
century to the end of the thirteenth century.[3]
Around 650 A.D., the Mesa Verdean peoples initiated construction of apartment style homes, termed
by Spanish explorers as pueblos. The Puebloan architecture is original in that it utilized the local stone
and mud deposits of the region to maintain the structural integrity of their burgeoning developments.
As this community evolved into the twelfth century, Mesa Verdeans further integrated the geology of
their environment into their lifestyles by building homes, known as cliff dwellings, within the
naturally formed alcoves of Mesa Verde. By the thirteenth century, the Mesa Verdeans vacated this
region due to severe droughts and subsequent social instability. Despite the later abandonment of their
cliff dwellings, it is clear that the geology of Mesa Verde National Park impacted the lives of the
Ancestral Puebloans significantly. The following sections provide detailed information regarding the

Public Service Loan Forgiveness ( Pslf ) Essay
As of today Americans are facing a outstanding debt of 1.3 trillion dollars in student loans alone and it
s up to 43 billion students to pay all of that back in full. Our most recent graduating Class of 2016
student is coming out of college owing an average of $37, 172 in loans, making an increase of 6%
since 2015. Which is significant amount of growth to have within such a short period of time. Many of
these students are unable to make their monthly payments whether it be because of the tremendously
high interest rates or because they simply don t have the sufficient funds to pay their monthly quotas.
But many student are also not aware of different options that are available to them that help eliminate
their student loans in full or to repay their loans in a very doable and manageable manner. In this paper
I will be discussing and focusing on the three most beneficial and commonly known options which
are, public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) , the four different type of income based repayment (IBR),
and refinancing your loans.
Public Service Loan Forgiveness also known as PSLF is a program designed for federal student loans
borrowers who enter a full time in public service jobs. The PSLF forgives the remaining balance on
the students loans only if the first 120 monthly payments have been made while employed full time by
a qualified employer. This means you are working for any non profit organization, federal government

Explain Why Kids Should Get Paid To Do Chores Around The Home
In my opinion I don t think kids should get paid to do chores around the house. When you do little
things like laundry, or cleaning your room, or swiping I think you should just do it. The reason why
you should just do it is because it is a favor your parents have asked you for. Help your parents out

them. Just take my advice I have to do chores but I suck it up and don t ask for money like some

The United States Army Breaks Down The Operational Variables
Throughout the history of the world, there has always been a struggle to be the most powerful country
in the world. Many key aspects that go into deciding what countries are the most powerful; some of
these aspects are having a powerful military, strong economy, large population and a powerful but
strong government. Most key aspects of what makes a country strong are also the same the aspects
that make up the operational environment variables. The United States Army breaks down the
operational variables into Political, Military, Economic, Social, Infrastructure, Information, Physical
Environment and Time (PMESII PT) when evaluating the operational variables . Russia has built a
strong, but stagnating economy on several natural resources to include the refinery and export of
natural gas and oil. According to the Jim Picht (2014) exportation of natural gas and oil to Eastern
Europe account for 70 percent of Russia s exports and 53 percent of the government s revenue. Along
with exporting oil to Eastern Europe, Russia also exports too many countries to include China and
Belarus. Europe fueled majority by Russian supplied natural gas and oil, the dependency of Europe s
need for this natural resource is the reason Russia s economy is so strong. In 2014, when Russia
decided to invade the neighboring country of Ukraine has led Europe to begin searching for other
suppliers of their natural resources. If Europe finds other countries to supply the natural resources

Coke Test Lab Report
Introduction The purpose of this experiment is to show how an acid (Coke) can react together with
potassium to create a charger for an iPhone. Potassium and acid formed together makes bubbles. With
both potassium and acid working together, they will give off energy to the iPhone. Why Coke? Every
liquid will be either acidic or basic traits. An acid base reaction is a chemical reaction that happens
between an acid and a base. There are multiple definitions when considering the reaction mechanism
when solving problems. Regardless of what the problem is, it s always a known fact that when using
liquid or gaseous reactions, they become less apparent. You want to use Coke because its pH is the
acidity of the substance. For an acidity to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The banana was used as the main source in this experiment because the main objective was to find out
if a fruit could charge an iPhone without being plugged into an actual outlet. In this lab, the Coke acts
as an acid and the banana is potassium. The RCA cables were used as connectors to stick one side into
the banana and the other side in the Coke itself. The Coke can is used to basically start the chemical
reaction by the RCA cables that are put inside it which in return is still connected to the banana. Just
like plugging the cables into a television, the red cable is usually used for right analog audio (the red
goes in at the top end of the banana which is to the right) and the white cable is usually used for mono
analog audio (the white goes in at the end of the fruit which is to the left.) The team used an iPhone
because something electronic had to be used in this particular experiment to get the results that we
were looking for so an iPhone was the chosen item. The iPhone charger is used to put into the Coke
can while it is plugged into the actual iPhone to see if we get results or not; this determined whether or
not the iPhone can be charged by a fruit. If the iPhone comes on, this indicates that it is charging
through the chemical reaction and if it doesn t, this could possibly mean the chemical reaction wasn t
strong enough, something went wrong during the procedure of the actual lab, and/or an

He was convinced that the main focus should be shifted from biological needs, drives and instincts to individual differences, experience, interaction and social environment. Adler placed great emphasis on sibling and peer group relationships, social interest and achieving perfection. He also introduced the terms inferiority and superiority complex, so commonly used nowadays, to the world. Adler was considerably deterministic the process of personality formation and especially about the time period when that happened. He claimed that once a personality is formed, it does not change significantly. In Adler s opinion the formation of personality took place at the age of 4 or 5. From the perspective of modern psychology, the extent to which Adler s theory about the order of birth is scientific is highly debatable. • 7. Social Marketing For Public Health Interestingly, a key focus in Cheng, Kotler and Lee s Social Marketing for Public Health book remains not only relevant but significant in current social marketing interventions. The authors discussion of public health issues found that for such social issues to experience a behavioural change, no single agency is able to make a dent by itself, (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011) hence it was recognised that a global trend in using partnerships at; local, national or international levels is a better way to enforce individuals to get involved (Cheng, Kotler, and Lee, 2011). At present, the five year ambition to introduce early intervention services through psychological therapies remain encouraged by policy makers, in the belief that the more awareness for the project at a local scale, will help reduce the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental health (Gov.uk, 2015) and encourage more people to speak out and seek the medical support they need. Loss of hearing for a patient has a huge impact on the quality of life in which communication is a big part of every day. These needs are to be understood and addressed by the nursing professional and healthcare team to enhance safety in daily activities of a hearing impaired patient. The importance of the nursing professionals to be educated in the assessment, types, care, interventions and safety of the hearing devices is imperative. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Weber and Rinne test are used to determine if hearing is normal or if conductive and sensorineural hearing loss are present. The Rinne test compares air and bone conduction hearing; the test consists of striking a 512 Hz tuning fork at the base of the mastoid bone (located behind the ear) (Lewis et al., 2011) and is a time interval test. Time interval is when bone conduction sound is heard longer than or equal to air conduction with conductive hearing loss and with sensorineural hearing loss the air conduction is heard longer than the bone conduction in the affected ear (Devitt, (n.d.). Since there are different types of hearing aids, external and internal this assessment is a valuable tool for the physician to determine what may be best for each specific patient. For the external hearing aids it has been determined by research printed in the American Journal of Audiology that fitting hearing aids bilateral instead of monaural will often result in better patient compliance (Lavie, Banai, Attias, Karni, 2014). Bilateral fittings usually have a lesser risk of noncompliance and enhancing a better outcome for the patient. Nurses can provide referral sources for a patient who is in need of additional support services that nursing cannot provide. Such as when a patient fails a hearing screening and when hearing aids are not functioning or ill fitted. By collaborating with the others in the healthcare team there will be enhancement of the patient s health and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Analysis of the U.S. Health Club Industry in 2004 and the Role of Bally Total Fitness Executive Summary Introduction The rise of the U.S. health club industry can be traced back to the 1980s and 1990s when the majority of health clubs emerged. Although the health club industry operated in a perfectly competitive market, several prominent key players gained large market share, including Bally Total Fitness and 24 hour Fitness. Analysis A number of recognizable key factors are responsible for the rise of the health club phenomenon. The most notable factor was the growing concern of people s overall health and well being. Awareness about the impact of obesity related diseases on the quality of life and available health resources was heightened, especially following a statement issued by the Surgeon General s office, which estimated the annual mortality resulting from obesity complications to be over a quarter of a million. Further research at the time showed about 6 in 10 American adults were overweight or obese, with only 4 in 10 adults falling within the healthy people indicator bracket. Between 1964 and 2004, 28 Surgeon General s reports had been issued, all of which described the epidemiology and health consequences of unhealthy behaviors.1. This general awareness resulted in about 17% of the U.S. population becoming more enthusiastically committed to fitness activities, with 63% recognizing the importance of fitness activities and 25% of whom actually attending health fitness clubs. Also, a recent survey showed that 37% of exercisers were motivated by the desire to control weight. Consciousness about body image and the desire to reduce stress and meet new people also had an impact on the health club phenomenon. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to The New York Times, The phrase American dream was invented during the Great Depression. It was not openly embraced by organized dentistry in America until the 1840s. The Crawcour brothers brought amalgam into the United States in 1833. Half of the people with dental restorations in upstate New York consisted of amalgam in 1844. The American Society of Dental Surgeons made all of the members to sign a pledge that restricted them from using mercury fillings, because at the time it was considered to be malpractice. That created the first dental amalgam war, but it ended in 1856 with cancelation of the association. In 1859 the American Dental Association (ADA) was founded and took the place of the American Society of Dental Surgeons. The ADA strongly defended amalgam from the allegations of being too risky from the health standpoint. In 1930 the ratio of the mercury to the remaining metallic mixture was sixty six to thirty three. Stephen King is often associated with the horror genre because of his excessive use of gore in his novels. However, gore is merely a side agenda that helps King shape his ideas. Instead, King s main goal is to create suspense. By creating a vivid image of the impact of a murder, rape, or other catastrophe he is able to foster his goal by unnerving his reader and creating a conflict. Lethal Injections And The Involvement Of Medical Personnel Shella Samonte Kegley Health Science Technology 4th Period 27 September 2015 Lethal Injections and the Involvement of Medical Personnel Death penalty, or capital punishment, is the execution of a person as a punishment for a crime. Throughout history, the death penalty has been a prominent part of society. In ancient Mesopotamia, the death penalty was seen as retribution for certain crimes, and to this day, is now a common practice in the United States. Before, when the United States were still colonies, the death penalty had been carried out by hanging and other various methods but today in the modern age, the Unites States method of execution in most states is lethal injection (Issitt). Due to its medical nature, medical personnel, such as anesthesiologists are needed to administer the drugs, but is it ethical for them to participate in the execution of people? By leaving the question a mystery the speaker is able to entertain himself with fantasies of elves and ideas of fiction, to fill a winter s long mind made mischievious by the spring season (Lentricchia 105). In defense of why a wall should be maintained the farmer merely states his father s saying, Good fences make good neighbors (Frost 28). The farmer does not have any real proof of why the wall should be put back each spring, when there is no threat of livestock crossing the borders. When questioned a second time he gave the same answer and again without giving the reason why fences make good neighbors. Family tradition and work ethic seem to be this farmer s motivation. He seeks to get the wall completed where the speaker appears more entertained by the activity (Barry 145). The farmer s mechanical repair of the fence is imagined in the eyes of the speaker as an old stone savage armed (Stanford 40). Before attitudes can be discussed first the poem s moral must be decided. Mending Wall does not take the approach of right and wrong, rather it shows two perspectives. • 27. Free Time Periods By Nathanial Hawthorne And Benjamin... Despite writing in different time periods, Nathanial Hawthorne and Benjamin Franklin both demonstrate strong opinions about democratic equality in America. Through his short stories, Hawthorne writes cautionary tales demonstrating the fear and confusion that Puritan characters have when they discover the sinfulness of others. Franklin writes about the inequality in America but gives the reader a method for overcoming this inequality and making the most out of oneself. While Franklin and Hawthorne both argue for democratic equality, there are important differences in their writings in the way to achieve equality. Throughout this paper, I will compare and contrast these two authors and then make the argument that Hawthorne s writings are more persuasive since they demonstrate the constant struggle between morality and individualism, a challenge that still exists in the 21st century. In Benjamin Franklin s Autobiography, he writes about his remarkable life and career, but also maps out how common folk can create their own success in America. Franklin lays out certain virtues that he believes people should cultivate if they want to improve themselves and create success from nothing, as he did. For example, I included under thirteen names of virtues all that at that time occurr d to me as necessary or desirable. He argues that it is not exceptional ability that cultivates success but a devotion to serving others and the discipline needed to pursue the virtues that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Glaucoma Research Paper A common misconception is that glaucoma is a singular disease, in fact, it is a collaboration of many diseases in the eyes that cause glaucoma. these diseases can often lead to loss of vision but, if caught early, glaucoma, or the smaller diseases which lead to it, can be treated. Like many other diseases, if caught early, the lasting effects will lessen. The most effected part of the eye is the optic nerve. The optic nerve s main purpose is to connect the retina and the brain, as to send what the human is seeing to the brain to process the visual information. The optic nerve contains more than one billion nerve fibers which each give off their own electrical impulses to send the visual information to the occipital lobes in the brain. The occipital lobe then processes the information which it receives. The most prominent type of glaucoma is Open Angle Glaucoma. Open Angle Glaucoma occurs due to the build up of fluid in the eye. Once that was mostly established, many, like Pierre Abelard went on to think about how or why people sin. Do people sin by choice or are people completely helpless when it comes to resisting temptation. Abelard thought believed that sin is subjective. Sin is inside us all and, and although we choose to give into sinful desires, it is through divine grace that we seek out the love of Jesus. It is not the sin itself but the intention in the heart of the person committing an act that could be considered sin under certain circumstances. If a person kills another person, it is not the act of killing that is a sin but the intent behind the killing. If the killing was an accident or self defense it is different from maliciously committing murder, or intending to kill another person. St. Francis of Assisi would say that sin is objective: the act of sin without knowingly or deliberately committing the sin. Intention has no part in whether or not an act is considered. Sin is sin regardless of intent. With the legacy of St. Francis ministry, the order called The friars , it seems that St. Francis was more concerned with good works as a means of salvation. However, works would mean nothing if there was not good intent behind them. Dietrich Bonhoeffer believes we are not judged by our works, but are saved by grace. A person must first be called to a life of Christ. This call is His grace. Reject the call ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Old Spice Has A Storied History Essay Introduction Old Spice has a storied history as cologne that is favored by both men and women. During the 1970s and 1980s, the brand relied heavily on nautical ocean scenes in their commercials and sex appeal. However, after years of success, Old Spice became known as old guys cologne. By the early 1990s, Old Spice s ability to survive and endure over the course of several decades became its downfall. Old Spice had become an icon associated with old men. The younger generation of boys and men mostly recognized Old Spice as something their fathers and grandfathers wore, which resulted in a lack of interest for the product, (Neilly, 2014). Old Spice realized that their traditional nautical themed advertising no longer appealed to their target audience of young men ages 12 34 so they decided to rebrand. Old Spice Man Television Commercials In 2010, Old Spice introduced their latest spokesman the Old Spice Man. With the NFL football player turned actor, Isaiah Mustafa, they created a series of commercials that not only specifically addressed the ladies, but talked about what makes men manly. These advertisements were so successful, they garnered record amounts of YouTube, (Neilly, 2014). The Old Spice Man was someone that the target audience would recognize as a professional athlete and a masculine icon. Another successful aspect of the Old Spice campaign is the fast paced filming styles. The Old Spice guy recorded his video responses in rapid succession, an amazing ... Roosevelt was president, he was the assistant secretary of the navy during the World War I. He was paralyzed in both legs from a condition called poliomyelitis. The authors thought that Roosevelt s disability profoundly shaped his unique personality also. However, they noted that before his disability he was somewhat arrogant and overbearing. His painful experience made him understand the disabled and disadvantages better. It made him much more determined to succeed instead of feeling sorry for himself. • 33. Essay about 19th Century Women 19th Century Women Works Cited Missing Women in the nineteenth century, for the most part, had to follow the common role presented to them by society. This role can be summed up by what historians call the cult of domesticity . The McGuffey Readers does a successful job at illustrating the women s role in society. Women that took part in the overland trail as described in Women s Diaries of the Westward Journey had to try to follow these roles while facing many challenges that made it very difficult to do so. One of the most common expectations for women then is that they are responsible for doing the chore of cleaning whether it is cleaning the house, doing the laundry. In addition, to show what the editor said in the McGuffey s there is a poem that is from a child s point of view talking about his mother, Smooth the few silver threads out of my hair; Over my slumbers your loving watch keep; Rock me to sleep, mother, rock me to sleep! (Gorn 108). It is shown here how the mother is to watch over her children and take care of them. Moreover, in the Women s Diaries it talks about the hardship mothers had, Accounts shade and darken in the pages of women whose energies were spent nursing and caring for infants and small children (Schlissel 115). It says that their diaries turn in essence bleak because they are being overwhelmed with so many duties and then on top of that having to care for the children. Being on the trail made it very difficult for the women to perform these duties as the author points out, The West to them meant the challenge of rearing a family and maintaining domestic order against the disordered life on the frontier (Schlissel 115). The women had to face to challenge and they did in a way that shows that the men were not the only ones who had an immense amount of courage in this great undertaking. An integral part of the nineteenth century Victorian way of life was having strong morals. The women were seen as pure beings and therefore it was there job to keep the family unit moral. In The McGuffey s it tells of how the morals were taught to kids ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. 2008 Us Economic Recession INTRODUCTIONS The Global Financial Crisis of 2008 is considered by many economists to be the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression of the 1930s. It resulted in the threat of total collapse of large financial institutions, the bailout of small and big banks by national governments, and downturns in stock markets around the world. In United States, the housing market also suffered, resulting in evictions, foreclosures and prolonged unemployment. The crisis played a significant role in the failure of key businesses, declines in consumer confidence, declines in consumer wealth estimated in trillions of US dollars, and a downturn in economic activity leading to the 2008 2012 global recession and contributing to the European ... From 2000 to 2003, the Federal Reserve lowered the federal funds rate target from 6.5% to 1.0%.[68] This was done to soften the effects of the collapse of the dot com bubble and the September 2001 terrorist attacks. The Fed then raised the Fed funds rate significantly between July 2004 and July 2006. This contributed to an increase in 1 year and 5 year adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) rates, making ARM interest rate resets more expensive for homeowners. This may have also contributed to the deflating of the housing bubble, as asset prices generally move inversely to interest rates, and it became riskier to speculate in housing. Weak and ... • 35. Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado Introduction Mesa Verde National Park, located in Montezuma County, Colorado, was established in 1906 by President Theodore Roosevelt. This United States landmark was designated for the preservation of several Puebloan archeological sites and the vast geologic history exhibited within the 52,485 acres of land occupied by Mesa Verde. The Ancestral Puebloans, or Mesa Verdeans, associated with the archeological sites of Mesa Verde National Park, lived in the Mesa Verde region from the mid sixth century to the end of the thirteenth century.[3] Around 650 A.D., the Mesa Verdean peoples initiated construction of apartment style homes, termed by Spanish explorers as pueblos. The Puebloan architecture is original in that it utilized the local stone and mud deposits of the region to maintain the structural integrity of their burgeoning developments. As this community evolved into the twelfth century, Mesa Verdeans further integrated the geology of their environment into their lifestyles by building homes, known as cliff dwellings, within the naturally formed alcoves of Mesa Verde. By the thirteenth century, the Mesa Verdeans vacated this region due to severe droughts and subsequent social instability. Despite the later abandonment of their cliff dwellings, it is clear that the geology of Mesa Verde National Park impacted the lives of the Ancestral Puebloans significantly. But many student are also not aware of different options that are available to them that help eliminate their student loans in full or to repay their loans in a very doable and manageable manner. In this paper I will be discussing and focusing on the three most beneficial and commonly known options which are, public service loan forgiveness (PSLF) , the four different type of income based repayment (IBR), and refinancing your loans. Public Service Loan Forgiveness also known as PSLF is a program designed for federal student loans borrowers who enter a full time in public service jobs. The PSLF forgives the remaining balance on the students loans only if the first 120 monthly payments have been made while employed full time by a qualified employer. Help your parents out they already have to deal with you,and if you have any animals or siblings they have to deal with them. Just take my advice I have to do chores but I suck it up and don t ask for money like some people do. Just take the fact that you are old enough to have responsibility and old enough to do it. Many key aspects that go into deciding what countries are the most powerful; some of these aspects are having a powerful military, strong economy, large population and a powerful but strong government. Most key aspects of what makes a country strong are also the same the aspects that make up the operational environment variables. The United States Army breaks down the operational variables into Political, Military, Economic, Social, Infrastructure, Information, Physical Environment and Time (PMESII PT) when evaluating the operational variables . Russia has built a strong, but stagnating economy on several natural resources to include the refinery and export of natural gas and oil. According to the Jim Picht (2014) exportation of natural gas and oil to Eastern Europe account for 70 percent of Russia s exports and 53 percent of the government s revenue. Along with exporting oil to Eastern Europe, Russia also exports too many countries to include China and Belarus. Europe fueled majority by Russian supplied natural gas and oil, the dependency of Europe s need for this natural resource is the reason Russia s economy is so strong. An acid base reaction is a chemical reaction that happens between an acid and a base. There are multiple definitions when considering the reaction mechanism when solving problems. Regardless of what the problem is, it s always a known fact that when using liquid or gaseous reactions, they become less apparent. The banana was used as the main source in this experiment because the main objective was to find out if a fruit could charge an iPhone without being plugged into an actual outlet. In this lab, the Coke acts as an acid and the banana is potassium. The RCA cables were used as connectors to stick one side into the banana and the other side in the Coke itself. The Coke can is used to basically start the chemical reaction by the RCA cables that are put inside it which in return is still connected to the banana. Just like plugging the cables into a television, the red cable is usually used for right analog audio (the red goes in at the top end of the banana which is to the right) and the white cable is usually used for mono analog audio (the white goes in at the end of the fruit which is to the left.) The team used an iPhone because something electronic had to be used in this particular experiment to get the results that we were looking for so an iPhone was the chosen item. The iPhone charger is used to put into the Coke can while it is plugged into the actual iPhone to see if we get results or not; this determined whether or not the iPhone can be charged by a fruit. If the iPhone comes on, this indicates that it is charging through the chemical reaction and if it doesn t, this could possibly mean the chemical reaction wasn t strong enough, something went wrong during the procedure of the actual lab, and/or an ...
