Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill
In Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill, the main character is an elderly woman known as Miss Brill.
This short story focuses in on a Sunday afternoon spent with Miss Brill during her weekly ritual of
visiting a park in her hometown. The character s traits are told by the narrator through the eyes of
the main character. It is obvious that Miss Brill is a very complex, intricate character. Digging
deeper into her thoughts allows the central theme of distorted reality come to light. Looking at a
day in the life of Miss Brill reveals some of her prominent character traits of being lonely,
habitual, and distorted. One of Miss Brill s main character traits is her sense of loneliness. She
tries to cope with this feeling by visiting the park every Sunday to people watch. By listening and
watching the people around her, she is able to connect herself to them in an attempt to escape her
unappealing, anticlimactic life. Through eavesdropping on other people s conversations she is
sitting in other people s lives for just a minute (219). She wants to imagine herself included,
important, and a part of a family. What is interesting is the fact that Miss Brill doesn t make an
effort to engage in conversation with any of the other characters. She solely observes her
surroundings and makes judgements. She thinks of the other people as funny...odd, silent, nearly
all old...as though they d just come from dark little rooms (220). Rather than seeing herself as one
of them, she creates an

The Depletion Of The Bee Population
While often only appreciated for their honey, honeybees are responsible for pollinating about one
third of the food that the human population consumes. Bees provide us with fruits, berries, nuts,
vegetables, coffee, and so much more. This is why the depletion of the bee population beginning
in 2006 was, and as it continues, so concerning. The term Colony Collapse Disorder refers to a
phenomenon in which worker bees vanish from the hive, leaving the queen and larvae unattended,
and thus the bee colony ceases to function and collapses. This is happening throughout the United
States at an alarming rate, and while one distinct cause for CCD has yet to be found, scientists
have narrowed it down to a few possible reasons.
Honeybees are social insects that live in eusocial communities in which the bees partake in
complex activities and live in well organized groups. There are three types of bees that exist within
the hive: the queen, the drone, and the worker. Each colony has one queen bee, whose primary
function is reproduction. She also produces pheremones which represses the ovarian development
in the worker bees which unifies the colony and maintains her position as queen, until a new one
takes over. Drones are the male bees of the colony, and their sole purpose within the hive is for
reproduction. Worker bees perform all of the duties to maintain the hive, including building cells,
care for and feed the young, care for the queen, handle nectar to produce honey, and guard the

Film Is Not Yet Rated Essay
This Film Is Not Yet Rated brings up many issues against Motion Pictures Association of
America s rating system. I am in favor of the issues brought up in this film as it seems that some
ratings that the MPAA s rating board give out do not always follow a concrete rule. For example,
movies that contained scenes with homosexuals having sex with each other received an NC 17
rating, compared to other movies that have similar scenes, but with heterosexuals instead received
an R rating. In the end, it is still two people having sex with each other and should not really be
differentiated by their sex or gender.
The individual rating types are also not a good portrayal of the movie as a whole. Bully was a
perfect example of this. Amanda Kehrberg from the Phoenix New Times says The R rating is
based on a handful of swear words used by students in the film who, by the MPAA s standards,
wouldn t be allowed to watch ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It contains the following ratings: AL (All), 6, 9, 12, and 16. These number ratings show the age
for which the viewer should be. For ratings 12 and 16, certain broadcast restrictions are set for
when they can be broadcasted on television. Ratings of 12 can only be broadcasted after 8 PM
and ratings of 16 is after 10 PM. Compared to the MPAA s rating system, all films can be
broadcasted publicly without having to worry about the films exposure in the public. Films rated
16 do require adult supervision at theaters. Additional icons are also next to the ratings to indicate
reasons for that recommendation. These include violence, fear, sex, discrimination, drug and
alcohol abuse, and coarse language. There are also more categories for different child age groups
to take into account their developmental process of reasoning compared to the PG and PG 13
rating. The Kijkwijzer only gives a recommendation and gives the parents the final

Analysis Of Helen Keller In The Chosen By Chaim Potok
Helen Keller was deaf and blind and even mute girl when she first came into the world. Despite
the fact, that she had several disabilities, she grew as one of the most respectable author, political
activist, and lecturer in the history. She grew well mainly because of the guidance and care of
Anne Sullivan her teacher, mentor, and leader. The story of Helen Kellerproves the importance of
admirable leader to people and individuals. In Chaim Potok s book The Chosen, Mr. Malter s wise
advice to Danny, Reb Saunders s strong will, and Mr. Galanter s heart for Reuven prove that the
three characters are excellent leaders. The characteristics that three men revealed in the story helped
those who were under their guidance.
First, Mr. Malter s wisdom to give appropriate advice in right circumstances demonstrates his
wonderful guidance. When Mr. Malter realized that Danny, the son of Reb Saunders, came to
library to read secular books, he guided him in wisdom. Danny s father Reb Saunders, a Hasidic
religious leader, forbid his son to read any other than their religious and school books. However,
Danny who had exceptionally great mind and curiosity, went to library where Mr. Malter was
working. Although he knew Reb Saunders s policy upon Danny, Mr. Malter did not stop him or...

Galenter s concern and heart for Reuven prove that he is an excellent coach. When Reuven got
hit by the ball that Danny threw, Mr. Galenter, Reuven s baseball coach, took Reuven hospital

Reuven and called Mr. Malter, Reuven s father, and stayed with Reuven for a long time.
Additionally, he comforted Reuven when he apologized to Mr. Galenter for putting him in
trouble. I am sorry to be putting you to so much trouble. What trouble? Don t be silly. I m glad to

Industrialization Of Industrialization And...
Industrialization is a starting point for many of the technologies and factories around and exists
today, despite the negative influences of the industrialization, people gained many benefits from it
too. For example, because of the industrialization workers are more efficient producing goods and
products, also industrialization helped many people walked out of the countryside which broadens
their perspectives. For many countries, industrialization is a voluntary movement within the
country, but as an exception, China s industrialization is forced due to the barbarism action from
Britain, France and many other countries. Recalls the first Opium War, which is the event that
aroused the industrialization in China, and later the second Opium war etc.... Due to the pressure
from enemies, China has to start industrialization in order to strengthen itself and to protect the
people from the opponents. Overall, industrialization was a hard and a long term battle not only
with other countries but also within China itself. Luckily, China slowly recovered from its failure
and walked out of its shadow by the transformation through the self strengthening movement, the
Xinhai revolutionand when new China was founded in 1949. Even though China is still in the
process of industrialization, but due to its transformation, China is now deemed as one of the
strongest industrial countries around the world.

Cruising Down The Street Summary
After the Industrial Revolution, the idea of family and home went through a significant
transformation. Many businesses went from being very family oriented and personal to anonymous
and profit oriented. Compounded with issues of institutional racism, poverty, and poor education,
there was a growing controversy with the use of streets in the city. Jennifer Tilton, writer of
Cruising Down the Boulevard discusses the rhetorical and institutional harms towards youth being
in public and private property while Ulf Hannerz analyzes different subsets of Urban Studies and
how they can be used to think about societal circumstances in the city. Privatization of urban spaces
is both a predecessor and result of alienation of misunderstood persons. Concerned outsiders often
use harmful language that redirects and distracts otherwise productive efforts to fix a neighborhood.
In Oakland, public spaces were becoming more and more filled with police presence and reinforced
as forbidden areas. Community activists were very concerned with teenagers getting involved with
crime in the streets and also contributing to crime. In the process, community members criminalized
youth based on ambiguous traits and adults tried to control the way youth used the streets. Jennifer
Tilton believes that youth impact social geographies of a city(Tilton 161). She has the insight to
recognize the effects of childhood: the presence of children changes the dynamics within a family,
neighborhood, and even city.

The Role of Research and Statistics in the Field of Psychology
Abstract
Research and statistics are essential elements within the field of Psychology. Through the evolution
of technology, the task of conducting adequate research and statistics methods have become
abundant in methodology. Because of such, research collection and experimentation approaches of
researchers and Psychologists, greatly vary in specificity. However, one method reigns true and
consistent, and that is the Scientific Method; of which will be further explored. This paper will
discuss and make sense of the roles in which both research and statistics play in the field of
Psychology, and the procedures in which such methods are conducted will be defined. This ... Show

The phrase method of scholars is an alternative title for the scientific method, for it is the absolute
best set of methods in finding the truth, and of course the scholars would know. It has often been
said that the greatest discovery in science was the discovery of the scientific method of discovery :
(Feibleman, 1972). This method is an investigation in which a problem is initially identified. With
this, observations, experiments, and other relevant data (provided by research) are then used to
create or test hypotheses that lead to conclusions about the original problem. The steps involved in
this process include: 1) Forming a testable hypothesis. 2) Devising a research plan and method of
application. 3) Collecting data and researching. 4) Analyzing the data and reaching possible
conclusions about the study. 5) Report findings. This research can be characterized as an activity of
creative work that is carried out in a systematic way in an effort to increase knowledge and truth. In
the field of psychology, this refers to the knowledge of the human mind, human behavior, cultures,
and societies. In order to fully understand how researchers, scientists, psychologists, scholars, and
students alike reach such conclusions, one needs to recognize the importance of the research
process and measures that are applied when conducting the various types of psychological research.
With this knowledge,

Pros And Cons Of The 1960s
It was a decade of extremes, if transformational change and bizarre contrasts. In the 1960s the
hippies were well known to have peaceful protests. During the 1960s president John F. Kennedy
was elected as president. The fight for civil rights. The baby boom happened in the 1960s. While
most people would say that the vietnam war brought us many enemies. But the reality of the
situation is that the U.S gained the Army of Republic of Vietnam as an ally. The 1960s is superior

Australian Citizenship Act 14 Essay
The Australian Citizenship Legislation Amendment, Strengthening the Requirements for Australian
Citizenship and Other Measures Bill 2017, introduced by Mr Peter Dutton, minister for
Immigration and Border Protection proposed to reform the requirements of citizenship. The bill
incorporates a number of integrity measures to ensure migrants are capable of upholding Australian
values and subsequently, prepared to be full, active members in Australian society. To maintain
social cohesion and facilitate social progression, the bill suggests stricter application requirements,
fundamental to determine whether an individual acquires Australian values measured through new
imposed testing. Currently, Australiais a combination of diverse cultures, religions and consequently,
it is considerably difficult to define the values of Australian citizens as a whole. Therefore, the
underlying motives of the Australian Citizenship Bill 2017 are highly controversial.
The Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948, initially recognised citizenship as formal members of
the community, involving reciprocal rights and obligations which united all, whilst respecting
individual s diversity. This act was amended frequently due to the progression of society and
inherent multicultural values promoted by the People of Australia Policy. It was repealed by the
Australian Citizenship Act 2007, which strengthened the citizenship application, residence
requirements and altered provisions resumption, and renounced

The Solubility And Temperature Of Ammonium Nitrate
The Solubility and Temperature Experiment was performed to find the relationship between the
solubility and temperature of Potassium Nitrate. This experiment was done to analyze the effect if
water temperature on the amount of dissolved phosphates and nitrates in solution, which are two
major pollutants that cause fish death. Below is the results of the experiment. Test Tube Mass (g)

76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly proportional.
This is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount of solute in the solution
increases, the solubility of the solution increases. As the solubility increases, the temperature also
increases, meaning that the relationship is directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in
the month of December, when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in
the year. Because it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly
proportional, if the water temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also low. By
analyzing the solubility curves of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Phosphate, it can be
concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate or Ammonium Phosphate can be dissolved in the river
water during December that would be dangerous to the fish.
However, by looking at the data of the Nitrate and Phosphate Concentrations in the White River
during the First 16

Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence Essay
Edith Wharton s The Age of Innocence
I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart. You broke my heart. These eternal words spoken in
Francis Ford Coppola s The Godfather reflect the importance and prevalence of family allegiances.
These allegiances transcend many different cultures, societies and environments. Every society has
its own Fredo : the social outcast whose decisions make him or her the center of attention in
society, and whose family allegiances complicate everything. We can see such a prototype for a
character in Countess Olenska, the main character in Edith Wharton s The Age of Innocence.

They like their theaters small and inconvenient, [in order to] keep out the new people (3). This
exclusive nature demonstrates the importance of family allegiances in their society; all families
were tied together, and as such any member who deviated from their particular family would stain
the reputations of all the others, thus hindering their social life. The members of Old New York
society are obsessed with propriety and will do anything to avoid controversy. This was the society
in which Countess Olenska was assimilated after her separation from her European husband and her
return to New York. This is one of the first indications in the text of Countess Olenska facing very
difficult circumstances because of family allegiances (in this case the intra family allegiance of
marriage). Countess Olenska commits the ultimate act of intra family rebellion: separation. While
through the frame of family allegiance we can see that the Countess is faced with a very dire
decision of separating despite family pressures and may seem powerless, when we look closer
we can see how much control she really has. Countess Olenska knew the consequences of her
separation, yet she decided to continue anyway. She puts her own well before everything else.
Her defiance sets her up as a strong and independent woman, and the frame of family allegiance
that was meant originally to hold her back and show her as being weak actually makes her look
stronger for fighting the

Scarlet Fever Disease
Scarlet Fever is an illness that can develop from strep throat and usually affects children between
the ages of five to fifteen (Mayo Clinic, 2011). This disease is able to be controlled with the use of
antibiotics, but only if it is recognized and interpreted correctly. When recognized by the
combination of symptoms, medical help should be reached. If left untreated, scarlet fevercould lead
to many other complications throughout the body. Scarlet Fever was once a dangerous illness, but
knowing and understanding the causes, symptoms, treatments and prevention methods has taken
the fear away.
Scarlet fever can become of strep throat in children. It is caused by the streptococcus bacteria,
which makes a toxin that can cause a scarlet rash, from which this illness gets its name. Not all
children react the same, or at all, to this toxin, but it is still important to watch for (Klein, M.D.,
2012). Scarlet fever can be spread through mucus found in sneezes or coughs that pass through
children when they are involved with close interactions through family and school. It generally
takes two days for the symptoms to appear.
The symptoms of scarlet fever generally last for not more than a week. They include a red rash
and lines across the body, a flushed face, a fever over 101 degrees, a red, sore throat, a red
(strawberry) tongue, a swollen uvula with sacs of white pus on it, swollen glands of the neck,
nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, headache and abdominal pains. The red

The Red Badge Of Courage Essay
Henry Fleming s character changed several times throughout The Red Badge of Courage. These
changes showed how Henry became a man and how he gained the confidence and courage required
to be a soldier. In Chapter 1, Henry is completely engaged in his own thoughts. He daydreams about
his farm, his home, and the conversation he had with his mother. This shows that, at the beginning
of the novel, Henry is excited and has unrealistic ideas of glory. He is a dreamer. He doesn t think
of death, especially not the possibility of his own death. In Chapter 2, Henry starts to connect with
the other soldiers in his regiment. He listens to the soldiers talking the enemyand the coming battle.
As he listens to these stories, Henry doesn t know if they are all true and because he doesn t
know if they are true and whether or not to believe them, he starts to become afraid. He keeps
his feelings to himself, separating himself from the others. In Chapters 3 and 4, Henry s fears
and doubts are increased by rumors from soldiers. At this point in the novel, he has seen battles
but has not been part of one yet. Henry s fear of not knowing what will happen grows because he
has not seen the enemy. His fear of the unknown is greater than the idea of having to face the
problem head on.
The first major character change that Henry made was in chapter 5. It is the first day of the first
battle for Henry and the other soldiers. As he forgets his doubt and fears about how he performs, he
stands tall and

Homer s Use Of Stereotypes In The Simpsons
The satirical show The Simpsons , satirises aspects of life, in this episode its racism. In the

absurdity to support that view. This show is aimed at young adult and/or adult viewers, as many
references to the real world may not be understood by younger viewers. The audience is
positioned to think about if the episode is politically correct. The episode uses the technique

Pride And Prejudice Analysis
In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, develops a laborious
relationship with Mr. Darcy, a man far wealthier than her own family. Over the course of the novel
Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy both fundamentally change due to each others influence. A major theme
throughout Austen s work is the presence or lack of money, and Pride and Prejudiceis no different.
Within Pride and Prejudice, money seems to define a person s social class; however, Mr. Darcy
has to push aside his prejudice and focus on his emotions needs rather than his financial well being,
in order to be truly happy.
As the original title of this novel was First Impressions, it is important to examine the
introduction of Mr. Darcy. The narrator tells us he was looked at with great admiration for about
half the evening, till his manners gave a disgust which turned the tide of his popularity (Page 8).
Upon his arrival at the ball, the townspeople are infatuated with Mr. Darcy because of his good
looks and most importantly because of his income. However, when he is found to be ill mannered
there is no amount of money that could his overwhelming elitist attitude. In comparison, it is stated
that the evening altogether passed off pleasantly to the whole family in reference to the Bennet
family (Page 9). This statement establishes that the fault of Mr. Darcy s unamusing time at the ball
was not the event itself. Using body language, and nonverbal cues Mr. Darcy makes it clear that he

The Argumentative Essay On Why Netflix Is The Best
Netflix is the Best Have you ever scrolled through the guide for what feels like years trying to
find one decent show? Or how about wanting to watch hours of TV, but you can never find good

things make Netflix great, but for starters Netflix is the game changer in TV, the Netflix original
series are winning awards and the actors starring in them are winning awards, bypassing regular
entertainment, and so much more. Netflix is the inevitable future of TV that we have all been
waiting for. It all started in 1997, when Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph co found Netflix .
Then, two short years later, Netflix gets launched. If we skip ahead into 2007, you can now

This is also the part I will show you how to burn the sugar to form the crispy caramel on top of it.
We remove the CrГЁme Brulee from the refrigerator about twenty minutes before we start to
caramelize the top. Notice that when you see any moisture condensation has formed on the
CrГЁme Brulee tops, gently dab it away with a paper towel, but you have to be careful not to dent
the custard. Now we are got the crГЁme part down, it is time for the Brulee , which means burnt
in French. We will be using a butane culinary torch for that, but not have to. You could also use a
small oven which is common kitchen tool for every home s kitchen, but using a torch are better
for it. With the torch, you first have to familiarize yourself with how your particular model
works and be sure to follow the safety instructions, because we re playing with real fire. Secondly,
we will sprinkle the tops of the CrГЁme Brulees with granulated white sugar. You have to make
sure you cover all the surface, and swirl the ramekins to distribute the sugar evenly. The fun starts
at this time, which is fire up all the sugar. Different torch works differently, so follow the
instructions for lighting yours, and adjust the length of the flame to medium. My suggestion with

The Virtual And The Real Economic Worlds
1.1 Introduction
The virtual and the real economic worlds are intermingling more than ever before, raising the
possibility that cryptocurrency might eventually replace the government run system of euros,
dollars and yen. Before extensively explaining why Bitcoin, a virtual currency, will have a
financial impact, we must first understand what it is exactly. Bitcoin is an online digital currency,
created in 2009 by a Japanese man with the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto .В№ While many
believe this currency is backed by a physical institution or pegged by a commodity, it is simply a
mathematical algorithm free of regulation that acts as an alternative to the banking system. With
digital currency such as Bitcoin, there is no central bank or government to trust, you ve just got to
trust the math. People are losing faith in traditional credit unions and are looking for new stores of
value. CryptoCurrency allows anybody to have a bank in their pocket. Simply put, the way the
internet changed how the world communicates, bitcoin changes the way money works.
1.2 Forms of Money
Digital currency is going to happen, in fact, it s already happening. Whether it happens now or in
10 years, we will be using digital currencies that don t depend on traditional fiat government.
Currently, in 2014, money is still being issued on paper and in metal coins, but not solely. Most
forms of cash actually exists as database entries backed by the state s promises. I don t know about

Analyzing The Many Facets We Face
The purpose of this commentary paper is to explain and describe the many facets we face in our
working day. I work for a company that makes aftermarket parts for mining dragline shovels,
extensive cutting spades, parts for railroad rail cars, undercarriages for TRAC type equipment, and
the notorious NASA Space Shuttle programin which we built the shuttle crawler which transported
the Space Shuttleto the launch pad. Our environment is very dynamic and spans across different
cultures and countries.
Have you ever thought about how companies maintain a working relationship with other countries
working in the same line of business? Let me tell you, that we are not all that different, as we share
rather the same goals and results. A working environment that is motivated by the miningindustry is
both dynamic and exciting. Our company is based out of Gillette, Wyoming and has a population
of 29,000 people. The resources and availability factors skilled labor and education in the mining
industry with a communication infrastructure. The mining industry follows a code of law which is
strongly influenced by OSHA s rules and regulations, which sometimes are policed by political
processes. Today, many companies if not most, are driven by digital access. We rely on
connectivity to ensure a strong infrastructure, keeping connectivity reliable and consistent

Comparison Of The God Of Exodus And The Exodus
In the Exodus, the second book of the Bible, we are told the story of how God through Moses
freed the Israelites from oppression in Egypt. Moses was born to an Israelite mother during a time
when the Pharaoh who was fearful of the size and strength of the Israelite people, decreed that all
Israelite male babies should be thrown into the Nile River. Mosesmother trying to save her son
placed him a basket in the reeds in the river, where he was found by the Pharaoh s daughter who
raised him as her own. When Moses was all grown up, he saw the witnessed the suffering of his
people, the Israelites which eventually lead to him killing an Egyptian soldier whom he saw
whipping an Israelite slave. He fled to Midian where he made a life for himself. Then the
Pharaoh died, and the new Pharaoh made the lives of the Israelites more difficult. They cried out
to God for help, and God hearing their cries remembered his covenant with Abraham, and chose
Moses to led the Israelites out of Egypt. The God of Exodus is not comparable to the God we are
often told of because the God we are told of is full of love and light, whereas the God of Exodus is
not merciful and all loving, is rather painted as an entity of wickedness. I do not see him as a hero
because he allows and encourages acts of evil which includes the killing of Egyptian babies, and he
is manipulative and excessively prideful.
God first appears to Moses on Mount Horeb. There he tells him that he is to go to Egypt to free the

As the blood trickled down the flight attendant s neck, they all prayed that they wouldn t die. A
dark skined man headed toward the front of the plane to claim his next victim. He slowly

They all knew, then, that they would die. Passengers felt the plane take some wild turns and they

If either Sepsis or Diabetes deal come through, the firm will be at an excellent position, with an
assured firm value of $25 million and a complete control of the company for the owners. In terms
of choosing between the two deals, the Sepsis deal is more fruitful as we receive $5 million up
front and $108 million milestone payments after the drug passes the phase 2 test in the Sepsis.
In contrast, the Diabetes deal fetches $8 million up front and $80 million milestone payment
which is too less. In addition, the potential sales for Sepsis are $0.5 billion annually compared to
$4 billion for diabetes. It is not a smart decision if we give up large portion of future proceeds

How A Network Can Be Attacked
Are We Safe! How a network can be attacked Types of attacks There are numerous types of
attacks, some of these are: Virus A virus is a software program that is designed to replicate
between computers and affect the operation of the computer. A computer virus is similar to a
human virus. A virus is a software program that is able to corrupt and delete data from the
computer. The virus can be transferred from one pc to another through an email as an
attachment. Trojans A Trojan horse is a program or utility that looks as though it would be
useful and safe to use but actually it is carrying out tasks which give others access to your
computer. Trojans are usually found built in to another program so that it is not easily
discovered. The Trojan will then run when the program that it is built into is running. Trojans are
not easily discovered by antivirus software because they are written in to the code of another
program. Worms A worm is another way how a network can be attacked, worms are very easy to
spread between computers. Worms are transferred from one computer to another without human
interaction. The worms can be transferred by emails, USB drives or downloading files. This means
that worms have the capability to transfer from one computer to another and to replicate so they
can infect vast amounts of computers. Adware Another way that a network can be attacked is

Supernovae
A supernova is a stellar explosion that occurs at the end of a star s lifetime. It is one of the largest
and most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxyand
radiate more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million
suns (S2). Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way,
which could be about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways
depending on the mass of the star; Type I or Type II.
A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction
ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary
star systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up
their nuclear fuel. As the gas of the neighboring star grows onto the white dwarf, the white dwarf is
progressively and constantly compressed, and after a while, sets off a nuclear reaction inside the
star that eventually leads to an energetic supernova outburst (S3). ... Show more content on

Like our sun, it will eventually run out of hydrogen and helium fuel at the star s core. However,
it will have enough mass and pressure to fuse carbon (S2). Next, over time, heavier elements
build up at the center and it becomes layered like an onion (S2). The elements will become lighter
and move towards the outside of the star. The core will heat up and become dense. The core will
become extremely heavy; so heavy that its gravitational force will not be able withstand it; causing
it to explode. The explosion spews out stellar material throughout space

The Impact Of England And Wales Deals With Young People
In most of the jurisdiction in the world children are treated in a different way than adults.
Applying the full force of the criminal law to children and young people has long been held to be
debatable. On this paper we will be critically assessing the way in which England and Wales deals
with young people.
The Children act 1989 and the Criminal Justice Act 1991 were the significant event occurred in the
youth justice system in 1990s which had the combine effect that separates the system of dealing
with children perceived to be in need of care and to be dealt in a separate court namely Youth
court. This was aimed to be a welfare based system. But the increases in the juvenile crime in the
1990s and widespread publicity over persistent young offenders and the murder of two year old
James Bulger by two ten year old boys became major concern which forced the main political
parties to reconsider their positions on crime and punishment. As a result the political party
committed to be tough on crime . The use of warnings and cautions was criticised and
discouraged. Later secure training orders for 12 14 year old and longer custodial sentence were
introduced by the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.
Also the common law doctrine of Doli Incapax, the presumption that a child between the ages of
10 and 14 year olds could not be prosecuted unless it could be proved that they knew the offence
to be seriously wrong , as oppose to merely naughty or mischievous, which is a

Negative Theories Of Conspiracy Theories
For decades now, scholars have been trying to analyze conspiracy theories and their history and
influence on modern day society. Many academic scholars from various disciplines have dissected
the concept of conspiracy theories, and the different perspectives are essential for someone that is
interested in researching the theories themselves. Authors Cornel Zwierlein and Beatrice de Graaf
published the article Security and Conspiracy in Modern History, which focuses on the history
discipline of conspiracy theories. Brian L. Keeley, on the other hand, focuses on the philosophical
discipline when discussing conspiracy theories in his article, Of Conspiracy Theories. When

Including those works provides the reader the ability to research the information themselves in
order to see if what is being discussed is true or not, which is beneficial because it provides
credibility to what the authors are saying within their article. The supporting evidence the authors
reference in this particular discussion of the unbalance security of the ancient Greeks is Professor
Joseph Roisman s The Rhetoric of Conspiracy in Ancient Athens. They use what he discusses in
this book, which is how conspiracies have effected ancient Athens, and incorporate it into their own
article. Referencing to his work shows the reader that the idea of conspiracy theories influencing
that epoch has come from other reliable, academic sources. When writing research articles or
essays, historians always make their various points, but make sure to back up those points with
historical facts and evidence in order to prove that what they are discussing correlates to historical
events. Graaf, et. al, follow through with this technique all throughout their article: they paraphrase
certain ideas from other sources and then expand on them in their own words. Backing up their
points with other works as evidence is extremely compelling and makes the article stronger because
it provides their points with credibility, and when they expand on the works, it shows the reader
that they understood the text well

The Reconstruction Era During The Civil War
The Reconstruction Era beginning in 1865 marked the period where white men and recently freed
African Americans quarreled over the concept of equality on the basis of race as well as where
freedom extended to. After the Civil War, there was a power struggle between the Republican and
Democratic parties as they had extremely distinct ideas on whether African Americans should be
free and hold citizen rights. African Americans were able to achieve citizenship as well as have
equality through the 14th amendment, however the struggle did not finish here, tensions between
races remained throughout the decades and the actual use of the amendment was not widespread.
During this time, two influential men were able to experience each side of this political spectrum.
Robert Smalls was a former slave who was able to gain positions in congress and advocated for
political equality throughout the southern states. Wade Hampton, was a highly educated southern
planter, war leader and senator who never accepted racial equality, always seeking to end all
attempts of reform alongside the Democratic Party. The Reconstruction proposed by congress
was meant to abolish slavery and enforce fair labor laws. As this sounds ideal, both Smalls and
Hampton were bitterly disappointed with it and would agree that Reconstruction was a failure
despite their contrasting political views. In a speech in 1876 Robert Smalls advocates against the
removal of federal troops located in the South to enforce the new

The Importance Of Western Hegemony In An Antique Land
What exactly is western hegemony? This question can be easily answered with a couple of
minutes using google. To save your time though I will answer it for you. Hegemony is defined
as, the social, cultural, ideological, or economic influence exerted by a dominant group (Merriam
Webster). Western hegemony is the west exerting hegemony on the east. This has been an
ongoing theme for some time now. The west is considered more advanced or better than other
countries. This is in the heads of the people of the east at all times as they compare themselves to
the west. In An Antique Land is a book written by an Indian writer, Amitav Ghosh, in the year of
1992. The book has two main stories throughout it. This provides for a very interesting read. It goes
back and forth between Ghosh and his anthropological adventure in Egyptand in ancient documents
covering Ben Yuji and his slave Bomma that were alive in the 12th century. Ghosh switches the
views usually through different chapters and it is easy to follow from where he left off from each
side. Ghosh lives with Islamic Egyptiansand studies them and how they live while learning more
about their view of the west and its hegemony. This book is full of evidence of western hegemony
on the account of Amitav Ghosh and his acquaintances while he is in Egypt. He expresses many
different scenes in the book that display Egyptian view s of the western cultureand military power.
With their view comes all sorts of misconceptions and

Rain Water Case Study
Does permitting Colorado residents to harvest rain water by means of a rain barrel, affect the
water flows for senior water rights holders and downstream users? Review of a small sensitivity
analysis conducted by a private party in Douglas County indicates there is no significant impact
if resident do so. Colorado has an old law with regard to harvesting rain water. The law states, the
State of Colorado has claim to all the water and moisture which falls in the state, therefore, a
resident is not permitted to collect water. Some believe permitting Colorado residents to harvest
rain water is a violation of the doctrine of prior appropriations. The study labeled, Holistic
Approach to Sustainable Water Management in northwest Douglas County was designed to show
what percentage of return flows would make it back to the stream for downstream users if collected
first. The study was held in an undeveloped area of northwest Douglas County,... Show more

Even though water is a considered a renewable resource, it is not regenerating itself in the same
amounts all the time. Mathematically, represented as, Q_0 ∆S,S_1 S_0 or in other words a
decrease in the stock and unsustainable rate of extraction. Combining this with the fact water is a
static resource; we want to maximize net benefit today rather than in the future. Colorado is one
of the very last states restricting the harvesting of rain water. The state of Washington has an
incentive program, a 10% fee reduction for any business willing to change their system to adapt
to water harvesting, instead of water through the county. A bill was introduced here in Colorado
to allow for water harvesting on a low scale (55 gallon barrel) last year, which failed. However, the
similar bill has been reintroduced again this year and residents are hopeful it will

The Vikings First Training Camp
I woke up the morning of July 30th with a smile on my face. Little did I know, that smile was
going to be one of my last.
The weather was glorious. About 90 degrees, with nothing but sun shine! Not even a cloud in
sight. I jumped out of bed, and made my way to the bathroom down the hall. As I was finishing
with brushing my teeth, I spit in the sink, looked at myself in the mirror with a stern glance and
said, You made it . After all, I was only 2 short hours from making my way to the Minnesota Vikings
first training camp practice of the 2001 NFL season, located near the hotel I was staying in, in
Mankato. Although, that wasn t the only reason why I credited myself. I have been known to
struggle with my weight in the past, but I felt good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I figured that the heat was getting to me. In my pads, the heat felt as if it was over 110 degrees,
like I was the only one in the desert, and had gone without water for days. In all reality it was only
in the low 90s. I felt so weak after practice. No one said a word after practice either, not even Moss
or Carter. A bit discouraged, I went back to the hotel room and took a nice cold shower and basked
in the cool air conditioning afterwards.
Later in the day, my wife pointed out to me that there was a picture of me in the newspaper,
vomiting. When I saw that picture for the first time my stomach turned. I thought I was going to
throw up again. It was incredibly humiliating and I knew I couldn t let the people who looked up
to me the most see me like that. Not my teammates, my peers, my wife, my son, nobody. It was
pathetic. With that picture out in the media, I was already focused on tomorrow s practice. I was
determined to come back the next day, playing harder than ever, and proving everyone wrong.
The dining area was quieter than normal the morning of July 31st. I think everyone saw the
picture, and pitied me, even felt embarrassed for me. Despite what my teammates thought, their
pity only fed the fire that fueled my motivation, and I was positive that everyone knew that. I
arrived at practice extra early to adapt to the heat. The same heat that beat me to my knees
yesterday, and the same heat that I was going to conquer

The Tort Law Imposes Liability
The essay question concerned with the tort law imposes liability in respect of the negligence.
Particularly, Marshall who is a trainee solicitor working at Maclarens Co, specialising in personal
injury claims. He give to each of the clients on the following clients have come to seek
representation as they are all being sued for negligencefor various incidents in which people were
injured. It has been shown that they all owed the injured parties a duty of care, however, they all
claim that they did not breach their duty of care to the injured parties and how evidence of
negligence is presented.
In the first case, Roberts v Ramsbottom [1980] , the defendant drove his car after he had
unknowingly suffered a cerebral haemorrhage and was unfit to drive. He battled with a stationary
van and with a parked vehicle. The court held that he had continued to drive after he had suffered
a seizure which affected his reactions and was negligent in doing so. Therefore, a person might
escape liability if his actions at the relevant time were wholly beyond defendant s control. As well
as it is automatism . The automatism test important from criminal law later disapproved by the
Court of Appeal.
Anyway, attorney general s reference (NO. 2 of 1992) referring in Roberts v Ramsbottom , the
court held that before the defence of automatism could be left to the jury a proper evidential
foundation for the defence had to be laid. It is the defence of automatism required a destruction of

And, Like The Fairs, Reflect American Urbanism And The
and, like the fairs, reflect American urbanism and the progressions of industry. According to his
colleagues, this ambition had always been apparent from day one. Walt s involvement with
world fairs has been recorded as much as possible, showing that he attended at least four
Exposition s. Most notably, his integration of Audio Animatronics in the Ford and General
Electric pavilions at the 1964 New York world s fair (Chappell 2015). The fairs displayed
agencies separated by avenues of people circulating one central vantage point. This point provides

After introducing the idea to the Imagineers, Walt s team drew up renderings and visuals to
bring the concept to life. The result: an idealistic, retro designed city that could be taken straight
from the 1920 s. Walt often sought advice from the acclaimed American architect, Welton
Becket, who was a close friend and neighbour to the Disney family. Becket s firm had designed
buildings that lay on the Anaheim site and Walt took inspiration from his forms and relayed them
to the team behind Project X. The lead project Imagineer, Marvin Davis drew up Walt s idea and
laboured for days on end in a secretive studio called the Florida Room to produce an array of
paintings and sketches showing the community. The futurist approach is a small step in the
direction we have been pursuing as architects for the most part the twenty first century: ecological
design. Another key point that has been discussed, is the communities optimistic attempt to convey
an efficient economic situation within such planned contemporary development. A bold decision
of that time, in relation to the drastic absence of affordable housing during the 60 s and their
place in America s struggling urban lexicon (Neglia 2016). The design stages were well underway
until a major setback in 1965 which effectively put the project out of service for good. Davis
recalls Walt seeking architectural assistance for the projects planning due to its inevitable
complexity, he offered the scheme to Becket

The Earth Is A System Response To The Climate Of The Earth
The climate of our planet is a system response to the geography, biosphere, anthropogenic activities
and occasional/cyclic geological/astronomical events.
Owing to the gigantic nature of the system, the Earth has a slow response time and manifests
differently in different parts of the world. And the spatial and temporal changes are miniscule,
making it difficult to comprehend the severity for an uniniated person, since these changes can be
easily lost in the noise of interannual variability. In this context, uninitiated include every person
who doesn t actively pursue information from peer reviewed and scientifically consistent sources.
For this reason, a clear and concise message needs to be sent to the uninitiated to make them ...

However, these platforms have been plagued with rampant misinformation that has been spread to
attain socio political ends. During the
Las Vegas Shooting of 2017, websites such as Google/Facebook painted the wrong person as guilty
this was attributed to the results being displayed based on popularity and recency than on veracity,
serves as a fine example. The mistake has urged both Google and Facebook to enhance their fact
checking al gorithms by engaging more humans to review the news that has been marked
controversial. Further, the individuals should be encouraged to fact check and identify and mark
hoax messages. Similarly, the news disseminating websites can be provided a rating based on the
frequency and the trustworthiness of the news being published which can be viewed by the general
public. Thus, the resources should help the end user to weed out the untrustworthy information.
Apart from the truth of the message, the content of the message should resonate with the audience.
The message of climate change, though appears grim, should be given a positive spin such as, an
opportunity to switch to
(de)centralized carbon free energy sources or as an opportunity to provide clean water and clean
energy. Since the responses to messages invoking emotions of fear, guilt and ignorance are denial,
fatalism and apathy.

  • 2. Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill In Katherine Mansfield s Miss Brill, the main character is an elderly woman known as Miss Brill. This short story focuses in on a Sunday afternoon spent with Miss Brill during her weekly ritual of visiting a park in her hometown. The character s traits are told by the narrator through the eyes of the main character. It is obvious that Miss Brill is a very complex, intricate character. Digging deeper into her thoughts allows the central theme of distorted reality come to light. Looking at a day in the life of Miss Brill reveals some of her prominent character traits of being lonely, habitual, and distorted. One of Miss Brill s main character traits is her sense of loneliness. She tries to cope with this feeling by visiting the park every Sunday to people watch. By listening and watching the people around her, she is able to connect herself to them in an attempt to escape her unappealing, anticlimactic life. Through eavesdropping on other people s conversations she is sitting in other people s lives for just a minute (219). She wants to imagine herself included, important, and a part of a family. What is interesting is the fact that Miss Brill doesn t make an effort to engage in conversation with any of the other characters. She solely observes her surroundings and makes judgements. She thinks of the other people as funny...odd, silent, nearly all old...as though they d just come from dark little rooms (220). Rather than seeing herself as one of them, she creates an ... • 3. The Depletion Of The Bee Population While often only appreciated for their honey, honeybees are responsible for pollinating about one third of the food that the human population consumes. Bees provide us with fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, coffee, and so much more. This is why the depletion of the bee population beginning in 2006 was, and as it continues, so concerning. The term Colony Collapse Disorder refers to a phenomenon in which worker bees vanish from the hive, leaving the queen and larvae unattended, and thus the bee colony ceases to function and collapses. This is happening throughout the United States at an alarming rate, and while one distinct cause for CCD has yet to be found, scientists have narrowed it down to a few possible reasons. Honeybees are social insects that live in eusocial communities in which the bees partake in complex activities and live in well organized groups. There are three types of bees that exist within the hive: the queen, the drone, and the worker. Each colony has one queen bee, whose primary function is reproduction. She also produces pheremones which represses the ovarian development in the worker bees which unifies the colony and maintains her position as queen, until a new one takes over. Drones are the male bees of the colony, and their sole purpose within the hive is for reproduction. Worker bees perform all of the duties to maintain the hive, including building cells, care for and feed the young, care for the queen, handle nectar to produce honey, and guard the ... • 4. Film Is Not Yet Rated Essay This Film Is Not Yet Rated brings up many issues against Motion Pictures Association of America s rating system. I am in favor of the issues brought up in this film as it seems that some ratings that the MPAA s rating board give out do not always follow a concrete rule. For example, movies that contained scenes with homosexuals having sex with each other received an NC 17 rating, compared to other movies that have similar scenes, but with heterosexuals instead received an R rating. In the end, it is still two people having sex with each other and should not really be differentiated by their sex or gender. The individual rating types are also not a good portrayal of the movie as a whole. Bully was a perfect example of this. Amanda Kehrberg from the Phoenix New Times says The R rating is based on a handful of swear words used by students in the film who, by the MPAA s standards, wouldn t be allowed to watch ... Compared to the MPAA s rating system, all films can be broadcasted publicly without having to worry about the films exposure in the public. Films rated 16 do require adult supervision at theaters. Additional icons are also next to the ratings to indicate reasons for that recommendation. These include violence, fear, sex, discrimination, drug and alcohol abuse, and coarse language. • 5. Analysis Of Helen Keller In The Chosen By Chaim Potok Helen Keller was deaf and blind and even mute girl when she first came into the world. Despite the fact, that she had several disabilities, she grew as one of the most respectable author, political activist, and lecturer in the history. She grew well mainly because of the guidance and care of Anne Sullivan her teacher, mentor, and leader. The story of Helen Kellerproves the importance of admirable leader to people and individuals. In Chaim Potok s book The Chosen, Mr. Malter s wise advice to Danny, Reb Saunders s strong will, and Mr. Galanter s heart for Reuven prove that the three characters are excellent leaders. The characteristics that three men revealed in the story helped those who were under their guidance. First, Mr. Malter s wisdom to give appropriate advice in right circumstances demonstrates his wonderful guidance. When Mr. Malter realized that Danny, the son of Reb Saunders, came to library to read secular books, he guided him in wisdom. Danny s father Reb Saunders, a Hasidic religious leader, forbid his son to read any other than their religious and school books. Industrialization is a starting point for many of the technologies and factories around and exists today, despite the negative influences of the industrialization, people gained many benefits from it too. For example, because of the industrialization workers are more efficient producing goods and products, also industrialization helped many people walked out of the countryside which broadens their perspectives. • 7. Cruising Down The Street Summary After the Industrial Revolution, the idea of family and home went through a significant transformation. Many businesses went from being very family oriented and personal to anonymous and profit oriented. Compounded with issues of institutional racism, poverty, and poor education, there was a growing controversy with the use of streets in the city. Jennifer Tilton, writer of Cruising Down the Boulevard discusses the rhetorical and institutional harms towards youth being in public and private property while Ulf Hannerz analyzes different subsets of Urban Studies and how they can be used to think about societal circumstances in the city. Privatization of urban spaces is both a predecessor and result of alienation of misunderstood persons. Concerned outsiders often use harmful language that redirects and distracts otherwise productive efforts to fix a neighborhood. In Oakland, public spaces were becoming more and more filled with police presence and reinforced as forbidden areas. Community activists were very concerned with teenagers getting involved with crime in the streets and also contributing to crime. In the process, community members criminalized youth based on ambiguous traits and adults tried to control the way youth used the streets. Jennifer Tilton believes that youth impact social geographies of a city(Tilton 161). She has the insight to recognize the effects of childhood: the presence of children changes the dynamics within a family, neighborhood, and even city. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The phrase method of scholars is an alternative title for the scientific method, for it is the absolute best set of methods in finding the truth, and of course the scholars would know. It has often been said that the greatest discovery in science was the discovery of the scientific method of discovery : (Feibleman, 1972). This method is an investigation in which a problem is initially identified. With this, observations, experiments, and other relevant data (provided by research) are then used to create or test hypotheses that lead to conclusions about the original problem. The steps involved in this process include: 1) Forming a testable hypothesis. 2) Devising a research plan and method of application. 3) Collecting data and researching. 4) Analyzing the data and reaching possible conclusions about the study. 5) Report findings. This research can be characterized as an activity of creative work that is carried out in a systematic way in an effort to increase knowledge and truth. In the field of psychology, this refers to the knowledge of the human mind, human behavior, cultures, and societies. In order to fully understand how researchers, scientists, psychologists, scholars, and students alike reach such conclusions, one needs to recognize the importance of the research process and measures that are applied when conducting the various types of psychological research. • 10. Australian Citizenship Act 14 Essay The Australian Citizenship Legislation Amendment, Strengthening the Requirements for Australian Citizenship and Other Measures Bill 2017, introduced by Mr Peter Dutton, minister for Immigration and Border Protection proposed to reform the requirements of citizenship. The bill incorporates a number of integrity measures to ensure migrants are capable of upholding Australian values and subsequently, prepared to be full, active members in Australian society. To maintain social cohesion and facilitate social progression, the bill suggests stricter application requirements, fundamental to determine whether an individual acquires Australian values measured through new imposed testing. Currently, Australiais a combination of diverse cultures, religions and consequently, it is considerably difficult to define the values of Australian citizens as a whole. Therefore, the underlying motives of the Australian Citizenship Bill 2017 are highly controversial. The Nationality and Citizenship Act 1948, initially recognised citizenship as formal members of the community, involving reciprocal rights and obligations which united all, whilst respecting individual s diversity. This act was amended frequently due to the progression of society and inherent multicultural values promoted by the People of Australia Policy. It was repealed by the Australian Citizenship Act 2007, which strengthened the citizenship application, residence requirements and altered provisions resumption, and renounced ... • 11. The Solubility And Temperature Of Ammonium Nitrate The Solubility and Temperature Experiment was performed to find the relationship between the solubility and temperature of Potassium Nitrate. This experiment was done to analyze the effect if water temperature on the amount of dissolved phosphates and nitrates in solution, which are two major pollutants that cause fish death. Below is the results of the experiment. Test Tube Mass (g) Temperature of Crystallization (В°C) 2.0 34.1 4.0 47.9 6.0 59.5 8.0 76.5 Based on the data, solubility of Potassium Nitrate and temperature are directly proportional. This is indicated in the results of the experiment because as the amount of solute in the solution increases, the solubility of the solution increases. As the solubility increases, the temperature also increases, meaning that the relationship is directly proportional. Most of the fish death occurred in the month of December, when water temperature was relatively cold compared to other months in the year. Because it was experimentally determined that solubility and temperature is directly proportional, if the water temperature is low, this means that the solubility is also low. By analyzing the solubility curves of Ammonium Nitrate and Ammonium Phosphate, it can be concluded that enough Ammonium Nitrate or Ammonium Phosphate can be dissolved in the river water during December that would be dangerous to the fish. However, by looking at the data of the Nitrate and Phosphate Concentrations in the White River during the First 16 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This exclusive nature demonstrates the importance of family allegiances in their society; all families were tied together, and as such any member who deviated from their particular family would stain the reputations of all the others, thus hindering their social life. The members of Old New York society are obsessed with propriety and will do anything to avoid controversy. This was the society in which Countess Olenska was assimilated after her separation from her European husband and her return to New York. This is one of the first indications in the text of Countess Olenska facing very difficult circumstances because of family allegiances (in this case the intra family allegiance of marriage). Countess Olenska commits the ultimate act of intra family rebellion: separation. While through the frame of family allegiance we can see that the Countess is faced with a very dire decision of separating despite family pressures and may seem powerless, when we look closer we can see how much control she really has. Countess Olenska knew the consequences of her separation, yet she decided to continue anyway. She puts her own well before everything else. This disease is able to be controlled with the use of antibiotics, but only if it is recognized and interpreted correctly. When recognized by the combination of symptoms, medical help should be reached. If left untreated, scarlet fevercould lead to many other complications throughout the body. Scarlet Fever was once a dangerous illness, but knowing and understanding the causes, symptoms, treatments and prevention methods has taken the fear away. Scarlet fever can become of strep throat in children. It is caused by the streptococcus bacteria, which makes a toxin that can cause a scarlet rash, from which this illness gets its name. Not all children react the same, or at all, to this toxin, but it is still important to watch for (Klein, M.D., 2012). Scarlet fever can be spread through mucus found in sneezes or coughs that pass through children when they are involved with close interactions through family and school. It generally takes two days for the symptoms to appear. The symptoms of scarlet fever generally last for not more than a week. They include a red rash and lines across the body, a flushed face, a fever over 101 degrees, a red, sore throat, a red (strawberry) tongue, a swollen uvula with sacs of white pus on it, swollen glands of the neck, nausea, vomiting, difficulty swallowing, headache and abdominal pains. • 14. The Red Badge Of Courage Essay Henry Fleming s character changed several times throughout The Red Badge of Courage. These changes showed how Henry became a man and how he gained the confidence and courage required to be a soldier. In Chapter 1, Henry is completely engaged in his own thoughts. He daydreams about his farm, his home, and the conversation he had with his mother. This shows that, at the beginning of the novel, Henry is excited and has unrealistic ideas of glory. He is a dreamer. He doesn t think of death, especially not the possibility of his own death. In Chapter 2, Henry starts to connect with the other soldiers in his regiment. He listens to the soldiers talking the enemyand the coming battle. As he listens to these stories, Henry doesn t know if they are all true and because he doesn t know if they are true and whether or not to believe them, he starts to become afraid. He keeps his feelings to himself, separating himself from the others. In Chapters 3 and 4, Henry s fears and doubts are increased by rumors from soldiers. At this point in the novel, he has seen battles but has not been part of one yet. Henry s fear of not knowing what will happen grows because he has not seen the enemy. His fear of the unknown is greater than the idea of having to face the problem head on. The first major character change that Henry made was in chapter 5. It is the first day of the first battle for Henry and the other soldiers. As he forgets his doubt and fears about how he performs, he stands tall and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Pride And Prejudice Analysis In Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice, the main character, Elizabeth Bennet, develops a laborious relationship with Mr. Darcy, a man far wealthier than her own family. Over the course of the novel Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy both fundamentally change due to each others influence. A major theme throughout Austen s work is the presence or lack of money, and Pride and Prejudiceis no different. Within Pride and Prejudice, money seems to define a person s social class; however, Mr. Darcy has to push aside his prejudice and focus on his emotions needs rather than his financial well being, in order to be truly happy. As the original title of this novel was First Impressions, it is important to examine the introduction of Mr. Darcy. The narrator tells us he was looked at with great admiration for about half the evening, till his manners gave a disgust which turned the tide of his popularity (Page 8). Upon his arrival at the ball, the townspeople are infatuated with Mr. Darcy because of his good looks and most importantly because of his income. However, when he is found to be ill mannered there is no amount of money that could his overwhelming elitist attitude. In comparison, it is stated that the evening altogether passed off pleasantly to the whole family in reference to the Bennet family (Page 9). The Virtual And The Real Economic Worlds 1.1 Introduction The virtual and the real economic worlds are intermingling more than ever before, raising the possibility that cryptocurrency might eventually replace the government run system of euros, dollars and yen. Before extensively explaining why Bitcoin, a virtual currency, will have a financial impact, we must first understand what it is exactly. Bitcoin is an online digital currency, created in 2009 by a Japanese man with the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto .В№ While many believe this currency is backed by a physical institution or pegged by a commodity, it is simply a mathematical algorithm free of regulation that acts as an alternative to the banking system. With digital currency such as Bitcoin, there is no central bank or government to trust, you ve just got to trust the math. People are losing faith in traditional credit unions and are looking for new stores of value. CryptoCurrency allows anybody to have a bank in their pocket. Simply put, the way the internet changed how the world communicates, bitcoin changes the way money works. 1.2 Forms of Money Digital currency is going to happen, in fact, it s already happening. • 26. Comparison Of The God Of Exodus And The Exodus In the Exodus, the second book of the Bible, we are told the story of how God through Moses freed the Israelites from oppression in Egypt. Moses was born to an Israelite mother during a time when the Pharaoh who was fearful of the size and strength of the Israelite people, decreed that all Israelite male babies should be thrown into the Nile River. Mosesmother trying to save her son placed him a basket in the reeds in the river, where he was found by the Pharaoh s daughter who raised him as her own. When Moses was all grown up, he saw the witnessed the suffering of his people, the Israelites which eventually lead to him killing an Egyptian soldier whom he saw whipping an Israelite slave. He fled to Midian where he made a life for himself. Then the Pharaoh died, and the new Pharaoh made the lives of the Israelites more difficult. They cried out to God for help, and God hearing their cries remembered his covenant with Abraham, and chose Moses to led the Israelites out of Egypt. The God of Exodus is not comparable to the God we are often told of because the God we are told of is full of love and light, whereas the God of Exodus is not merciful and all loving, is rather painted as an entity of wickedness. I do not see him as a hero because he allows and encourages acts of evil which includes the killing of Egyptian babies, and he is manipulative and excessively prideful. It is one of the largest and most energetic explosions in space (S1). A supernova can briefly outshine an entire galaxyand radiate more energy than our sun will in its lifetime. That is about same brightness of 10 million suns (S2). Supernovae happen about every 50 years in a galaxy about the size of the Milky Way, which could be about every second in our universe (S3). Supernovae can happen in two ways depending on the mass of the star; Type I or Type II. A Type I supernova happens when the star steals matter from a neighbor until a nuclear reaction ignites. Type I supernovae are generally thought to come from white dwarf stars only in binary star systems (S1). A white dwarf star is what stars like our sun become after they have used up their nuclear fuel. Colorado has an old law with regard to harvesting rain water. Even though water is a considered a renewable resource, it is not regenerating itself in the same amounts all the time. Mathematically, represented as, Q_0 ∆S,S_1 S_0 or in other words a decrease in the stock and unsustainable rate of extraction. Combining this with the fact water is a static resource; we want to maximize net benefit today rather than in the future. Colorado is one of the very last states restricting the harvesting of rain water. The state of Washington has an incentive program, a 10% fee reduction for any business willing to change their system to adapt to water harvesting, instead of water through the county. A bill was introduced here in Colorado to allow for water harvesting on a low scale (55 gallon barrel) last year, which failed. However, the similar bill has been reintroduced again this year and residents are hopeful it will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. The Vikings First Training Camp I woke up the morning of July 30th with a smile on my face. Little did I know, that smile was going to be one of my last. The weather was glorious. About 90 degrees, with nothing but sun shine! Not even a cloud in sight. I jumped out of bed, and made my way to the bathroom down the hall. As I was finishing with brushing my teeth, I spit in the sink, looked at myself in the mirror with a stern glance and said, You made it . After all, I was only 2 short hours from making my way to the Minnesota Vikings first training camp practice of the 2001 NFL season, located near the hotel I was staying in, in Mankato. Although, that wasn t the only reason why I credited myself. I have been known to struggle with my weight in the past, but I felt good ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I figured that the heat was getting to me. In my pads, the heat felt as if it was over 110 degrees, like I was the only one in the desert, and had gone without water for days. In all reality it was only in the low 90s. I felt so weak after practice. No one said a word after practice either, not even Moss or Carter. A bit discouraged, I went back to the hotel room and took a nice cold shower and basked in the cool air conditioning afterwards. Later in the day, my wife pointed out to me that there was a picture of me in the newspaper, vomiting. When I saw that picture for the first time my stomach turned. I thought I was going to throw up again. It was incredibly humiliating and I knew I couldn t let the people who looked up to me the most see me like that. Not my teammates, my peers, my wife, my son, nobody. It was pathetic. With that picture out in the media, I was already focused on tomorrow s practice. I was determined to come back the next day, playing harder than ever, and proving everyone wrong. The dining area was quieter than normal the morning of July 31st. I think everyone saw the picture, and pitied me, even felt embarrassed for me. Despite what my teammates thought, their pity only fed the fire that fueled my motivation, and I was positive that everyone knew that. I arrived at practice extra early to adapt to the heat. The same heat that beat me to my knees yesterday, and the same heat that I was going to conquer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to his colleagues, this ambition had always been apparent from day one. Walt s involvement with world fairs has been recorded as much as possible, showing that he attended at least four Exposition s. Most notably, his integration of Audio Animatronics in the Ford and General Electric pavilions at the 1964 New York world s fair (Chappell 2015). The fairs displayed agencies separated by avenues of people circulating one central vantage point. After introducing the idea to the Imagineers, Walt s team drew up renderings and visuals to bring the concept to life. The result: an idealistic, retro designed city that could be taken straight from the 1920 s. Walt often sought advice from the acclaimed American architect, Welton Becket, who was a close friend and neighbour to the Disney family. Becket s firm had designed buildings that lay on the Anaheim site and Walt took inspiration from his forms and relayed them to the team behind Project X. The lead project Imagineer, Marvin Davis drew up Walt s idea and laboured for days on end in a secretive studio called the Florida Room to produce an array of paintings and sketches showing the community. The futurist approach is a small step in the direction we have been pursuing as architects for the most part the twenty first century: ecological design. Another key point that has been discussed, is the communities optimistic attempt to convey an efficient economic situation within such planned contemporary development. A bold decision of that time, in relation to the drastic absence of affordable housing during the 60 s and their place in America s struggling urban lexicon (Neglia 2016). The design stages were well underway until a major setback in 1965 which effectively put the project out of service for good. • 48. The Earth Is A System Response To The Climate Of The Earth The climate of our planet is a system response to the geography, biosphere, anthropogenic activities and occasional/cyclic geological/astronomical events. Owing to the gigantic nature of the system, the Earth has a slow response time and manifests differently in different parts of the world. And the spatial and temporal changes are miniscule, making it difficult to comprehend the severity for an uniniated person, since these changes can be easily lost in the noise of interannual variability. During the Las Vegas Shooting of 2017, websites such as Google/Facebook painted the wrong person as guilty this was attributed to the results being displayed based on popularity and recency than on veracity, serves as a fine example. The mistake has urged both Google and Facebook to enhance their fact checking al gorithms by engaging more humans to review the news that has been marked controversial. Further, the individuals should be encouraged to fact check and identify and mark hoax messages. Similarly, the news disseminating websites can be provided a rating based on the frequency and the trustworthiness of the news being published which can be viewed by the general public.
